Welcome, to the world of Pokémon. A spinning globe of wonderment and home to an infinite array of creatures too varied to comprehend.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of meticulously fashioned beings are in this world. And no matter what corner of the world you find yourself, rest assured that you will find Pokémon there as well. Soaring overhead, skimming the clouds, riding the currents undersea, sharing the mountain's majesty, or animating the many lush green forests. The Pokémon will be there, even happily making their homes in fields of grass, or even the sprawling cities.

Both humans and Pokémon have lived side by side for generations. Some simply live together as friends, keeping each other safe and are never alone. Others join forces to train and compete in Pokémon battles, all in the hopes of one day being known as Pokémon Masters.

But there are others out there, those who wish to use the power of Pokémon for their own meretricious ends. This is the story about one of them, and the efforts of several young trainers who stood against him.

Deep in the night, a single figure ran through a forest. It was a girl with golden skin along red and yellow hair. She was wearing a light blue dress with dark blue pants and leather boots, a black leather jacket on top of her dress. Her hands were tightly clutching a bag, long weary pants escaping her breath as exhaustion started to consume her.

As she rushed through the forest, three figures were rushing after her. She then looked back over her shoulder and saw them coming, making her panic as she increased her pace. The trio soon leapt out of the shadows to reveal themselves to be Pokémon.

The first was a large stag Pokémon, standing at about six and a half feet. Its body was mostly dark green, with brown running from the end of its nose to its lower mouth to the front of its neck and its underbelly. It was also at the end at its flank and had a pair of brown spots on its back, one on either side, along with a large brown spot on its rear. A large patch of grass could be seen sprouting out of its chest, growing up and around its neck and around the shoulders and down its front legs. From its rear was a whole bushel of leaves and a pair of brown antlers growing out of its head, complete with leaves as well.

The second one was a long cobra like serpent Pokémon, whose total length was about ten feet. The top half of its body was crimson red, with its lower jaw being dark yellow. There was also a dark yellow line running down the front of its body and had several black circles running in a line from the back of its head to the end of its tail. Finally, it had a large yellow tube shaped appendage on the very end of its tail.

The last one was a humanoid lizard like Pokémon, whose head to toe height was about six feet. It had light blue skin with a dark blue belly and light blue long arms, but his hands and three fingers were dark blue. Its tail was as long as it was tall, being entirely dark blue and connected to the dark blue patch on its stomach. It had a pair of strong light blue legs with dark blue feet, and it also had three white fin like appendages on its head, two coming from either side of its mouth while the third was a foot and a half long dorsal fin that ran from the tip of its nose to the back of its head. It also wore a blue eye visor that went from one eye, over its head to just above its nose, then to the other eye. It looked like it was made of water, giving it a bubble-like appearance. Each of the fins had a bright red tip, and with the fin on its head, it's height was increased to about seven and a half feet.

The three Pokémon continued to chase after the girl, the stag galloping and serpent slithering along the ground while the lizard leapt from tree to tree. The stag's horns then glowed, a sphere of energy appearing between them before it flicked it towards the girl.

It hit the ground near her and exploded, the force causing the girl to stagger away. "Ahhh!" She cried as she clutched the bag even tighter. The serpent then coiled itself around a tree before it opening its mouth, fire blasting out of the black spots on its back before creating a long fin made of flames. It hissed before taking a deep breath, then launched a flaming rocket. The missile flew above the girl, exploding into a rain of fire. She saw this coming, soon leaping behind a tree to shield herself. The fireballs then struck the tree, catching it on fire instantly, making her start running again.

The lizard then leapt after the girl, bringing its hands together before pulling them apart like it was unsheathing a katana. As it did, a construct of water appeared in its right hand and took the form of a four foot long blade. It leapt past the girl and slashed the trees infront of her, all of them falling and blocking her path.

"No!" She gasped as she skidded to a halt, quickly turning and running to the side. It was after making this turn that she arrived at the edge of the forest, only to pull herself to a stop again as now she found herself atop a tall cliff that overlooked another part of the forest. "Oh no...no!"

It was here that she began running along the cliff for several minutes, only to find herself at the end of the cliff. Below was nothing but a large raging river, complete with a waterfall. "No...this can't..."

"AHAHAHAHA!" laughed a sudden voice, causing her to turn around and see the three Pokémon. A small gulp followed as three figures jumped out of the treeline and landed next to one of the Pokémon.

Next to the stag was a teen boy with brown skin and green hair, wearing a green vest and brown pants. After that was a boy by the serpent, which was a teen boy with spiky fiery red hair and yellow skin, wearing a red shirt and yellow pants. Finally, next to the lizard was a teen girl with white skin and flowing dark blue hair, and she was wearing a light blue dress that went down to her knees. The three also had a wrist mounted device on their left arms.

The trio and their Pokémon stepped forwards, causing the girl to stagger back and almost step into the river below. "Its over Sunset," the green haired boy said first.

"Just give back what you stole," the redhead boy added. "Do that, and we can forget this little incident ever happened."

The girl shook her head back, "And let you continue to persecute this poor creature?! Never!"

"Oh, don't be such a drama queen," the blue haired girl hissed while sticking her tongue out in disgust. "Wouldn't you rather be on the winning team?"

Sunset grit her teeth at this, glaring at them."You're disgusting."

The green haired boy then let out a sigh, shaking his head at this while pointing at Sunset. "Alright, I've run out of patience. Stagrowth."

"Stag..." the stag Pokémon stepped up to her.

"Vipeacon," the redheaded boy did the same.

"Vip!" The serpent hissed.

"Reptidal," the girl mimicked her teammates.

"Rep!" The lizard growled before walking towards the girl.

Sunset's eyes shrunk, pure fear consuming her. Tears started to go down her eyes as she clutched the bag. And as she did this, she felt something.

The bag she was holding began to glow, the light radiating out from the zipper. She saw this and knew what was happening while the other three just raised an eyebrow at this. They then watched as she unzipped the bag, causing even more light to shoot out and engulf them all.

"WHAT THE-" The three screamed before shielding their eyes.

And then-

KABOOM!

Pokémon, the Movie: Total Eclixie the Heart!

The next day...

It was a beautiful day in the Equestria Region. The sun was shining, the Flying-Types were singing and our main hero was relaxing on the branch of a tall tree. Flash Sentry sighed happily as he leaned against the trunk, his partner Pokémon Springer mimicking his actions from a branch over. "This is the life, huh Springer?"

"Riolu..." Springer replied softly.

"Nothing's gonna ruin this."

"Ah-hem!"

Flash's eyes shot open into a frown, "Except that." He looked down at the source of his annoyance and saw Twilight Sparkle, who was currently looking up at the two with arms crossed and a tapping foot.

The group was currently in a grassy field beside a gently flowing river, with the tree Flash was in being in the very center of the area. Halfway between the tree and the river was Spike, Doc and Peewee, all of whom were working to set up their lunch. Spike was preparing the table with Peewee passing him what he needed, while Doc was busy cooking a stew of some kind. Twilight on the other hand, was just staring at Flash with a twitching eyebrow, "Are you two gonna help or not?"

Flash and Springer shared a look, having a small mental conversation before looking back down at her, "Nah." And with that, they leaned back against the trunk.

"Excuse me?!" Twilight screeched, stomping her foot.

"Can't be bothered today," Flash said as he waved his hand dismissively at her. "Call me when lunch is ready."

"Who says you're gonna get any lunch?! Especially if you're not gonna make it..."

"What can I say? I'm just in the mood to sit back, relax, and leave the work for someone else to do."

"Flash..." Twilight growled as Spike and Peewee stepped up to her.

"Tell you what. You do my chores today, and I'll do all your chores tomorrow. Deal?"

Twilight continued to glare at him before sighing. "Fine."

"Cool....can I get in on this?" Spike asked with a huge grin, only to see Twilight turn to him with a death glare.

"Oh no you don't," Twilight grabbed him by the hood and started dragging him towards the table. "I might not be able to stop him from becoming a lazy bum, but I can make sure you don't become one."

"Awww..."

Doc laughed as he watched the scene. "I'm actually amazed you're not climbing up there and dragging them down to work."

Twilight smirked before speaking at a low tone, "He thinks he's so smart, but he's forgetting tomorrow was gonna be my turn to give all the Pokémon a wash."

Spike and Doc both flinched, knowing that almost all of their Pokémon hated getting washed. Completely unaware of his impending turmoil though, Flash rested once again the tree trunk, "Now, nothing's gonna ruin my relaxation."

"Hey!" Flash's eyes once again shot open, turning into an even more annoyed glare before glancing towards the source of the voice. "You, in the tree!" On the other side of the river stood a teen boy their age, with yellow skin and purple hair. He was wearing a blue vest, which was opened to reveal a bare chest and red pants along with a red headband on his head.

"Can I help you?"

"Yeah. I'm looking for a Pokémon trainer named Flash Sentry. You seen him?"

"Only when I look in a mirror. What do you want with me?"

The teen smiled before pulling out a Pokeball. "Let's have a match. You know, unless you're afraid the lose."

Flash smirked before swinging out of the tree, soon walking up to the river. "I'm afraid you're gonna be the one to lose this one."

"Flash!" he heard Twilight call out, "I thought you said you weren't in the mood to do any work today!"

Flash grinned back at her. "Yeah, I said that. But since when is a Pokémon battle work?"

"He's got you there Twi," Spike replied, only to get another death glare from Twilight. He took a step back as Twilight turned back to Flash, soon seeing him pull out a Pokeball.

Cue epic Pokémon music.

Flash enlarged the Pokeball before tossing it into the air, causing it to reveal Flash's Thawn, Prongs. The grass deer shook its head and prepared itself for battle. Flash's opponent threw his own Pokeball in the air, releasing a large Golem that looked down at Prongs before scrapping its foot along the ground. The two stared at each other, only for Prongs to rush towards it opponent. The Golem then curled into its shell and started spinning, soon charging towards Prongs.

The two Pokémon clashed, Golem's greater strength causing Prongs to be knocked into the air as it rolled through. As Prongs crashed into the ground, the Golem turned mid-roll and bum-rushed again. The Thawn was hit again, smacked into the air once more. But as it went flying, Prongs opened his mouth and began charging an Energy Ball.

The Golem then reached the river and came to a stop, the trainer ordering it to perform another Rollout. It nodded before curling up again, prongs now landing. And as Golem drew closer, Prongs fired his Energy Ball, hitting the Golem dead-on. The force of the attack caused the Golem to be blown back, soon stopping as its rollout was cancelled. This was all Prongs needed as Flash gave him a command, rushing and turning to slam his back hooves into the Rock-Type. The force of the attack sent it rolling backwards, right into the lake. The trainer gasped as he watched his Pokémon sink like a rock, no doubt knocked out from the two previous attacks.

Flash laughed before rushing towards Prongs, kneeling down to scratch him behind the ears. Prongs let out a happy tune, rubbing up to his trainer in happiness. The trainer then returned his Golem before replacing its Pokeball with another, this one revealing a new Pokémon. It was a Mienshao, which spun around before performing several martial arts moves.

Flash then gestured to Prongs, telling him to go to their friends as he threw up another Pokeball. This one revealed the Aquana known as Riptide, which charged at Mienshao, the Pokémon spinning and clashing Riptide's attack with its sleeve. Mienshao proved to be the stronger of the two, knocking Riptide back, which made him land at Flash's feet. The trainer knelt down to check he was alright, Riptide nodding before turning back to his opponent. Flash quickly gave an order and Riptide opened his mouth, unleashing a powerful sonic wave that caused Mienshao to cover its ears.

This was the opening Riptide needed, allowing him to slam a Rock Smash attack into Mienshao's stomach, sending it flying. The trainer watched as his Pokémon hit the ground, spirals in its eyes from the blow, which made the trainer start to pull at his hair.

Riptide jumped for joy as he went up to his trainer, who quickly hugged him and tossed him up into the air several times in congratulations.

The trainer then returned Mienshao and pulled out another Pokeball, tossing it in the air and releasing his Hawlucha. Seeing this, Flash sent out his next Pokémon, revealing it to be his Hisscor, Viper. The Hawlucha attacked first, trying to perform a Hi-Jump Kick on the fire snake. But as he tried to hit Viper, the snake leapt aside, dodging the attack. The failed attack caused the Hawlucha to take major recoil damage, giving Viper the time he needed. His tail then ignited before it flicked it forward, sending the fireball at the luchador Pokémon before consuming it in a flaming tornado.

As Viper landed, Flash ordered him to use Flamethrower, Viper nodding before taking a deep breath. As the Fire Spin attack faded, it revealed a severely burnt Hawlucha, only to get hit from a stream of fire. Hawlucha was sent flying, sailing right over the river and landing by its trainers feet with swirls in its eyes. The trainer let out a yell of rage at the sight as Viper slithered over to his trainer. Flash knelt down and held out his fist, which Viper pumped with his tail.

The trainer returned his Hawlucha and turned back to Flash before pulling out his last three Pokeballs, which he tossed into the air, soon revealing a Dusclops, Mothim and Houndoom. Flash frowned at this, only for Springer to leap out of the tree and run up to the trio.

"Rio..." Springer leapt into the air, a large Aura Sphere in his paws, "LU!" He tossed the attack, an explosion following as it destroyed his opponents.

Everyone gasped as the smoke cleared, revealing the three Pokémon to be now knocked over, spirals in their eyes. "What!?" The trainer screamed, "HOW!?"

Flash and his Pokémon just laughed at this as they watched him return his Pokémon before running off. As he disappeared into the distance, Flash and his Pokémon walked up to their friends, all of them now done setting up the table and now serving out the stew. "That was awesome Flash!" Spike cheered as he served out the Pokémon food.

"But did you have to humiliate him so much?" Twilight asked in a low growl.

Flash just shrugged as he sat down. "His own fault for trying to cheat. Besides, can I help it that Springer's so strong."

"Ri!" Springer cheered as he and the others sat down beside their bowls.

The rest of the team's Pokémon were brought out and together, they began to enjoy their lunch. As they did, they began to talk, laugh and enjoy each others company. Eventually, the last of the food was gobbled up and the group prepared to clean up.

But then-

"Ri?" Springer's head shot up as he suddenly felt something, causing Flash to look down at him.

"You okay bud?" Springer didn't answer, instead turning towards the river, causing the rest of his friends to follow his gaze. "What's up?"

"Oh my gosh! Look!" Twilight called out as she pointed to the middle of the river.

Flash raised an eyebrow at this, only for his eyes to go completely wide when he realized what she was pointing at. The gang soon ran up to the river, Flash jumping in to reach what was floating in the river. And as he reached it, his worries were confirmed when he saw it was a person, a girl to be exact, completely unconscious and floating face up in the river.Acting fast, he started dragging her towards the shore, the others soon helping him lift the girl up.

"Is she okay?" Spike asked.

"I don't know," Twilight replied as she and Doc looked her over.

"She doesn't seem to have sustained any major injuries," Doc added as he put his hand over the girl's forehead. "We should get her to a hospital, just to be safe."

Flash turned to Twilight. "Isn't there a town not too far form here?"

Twilight nodded and pulled out her journal, soon opening up the mapping section, "We can be there in about an hour."

Flash nodded before crouching down. "Put her on my back. I'll carry her there."

They put her on his back while Twilight picked up the girl's bag, soon noticing how heavy it was. Despite this, she decided to not look inside as she glanced back at her journal. "Come on, follow me."

With that, Twilight started leading them towards the city. And as they made their way, the group wondered who the girl was, why she was in the river and why she was unconscious. Despite this, they knew they would need to wait until she awakened to get their answers.

Meanwhile, across the river and hidden within the foliage of the trees, three figures stood watching the group.

The three looked almost identical, all being around the same size and similar equine shape. The only differences were in the finer details, such as one having a horn on its head and another having wings on its back. Their line of vision followed the teens as they packed up and rushed out of the clearing, their focus on the bag Twilight was carrying.

It was here that the horned one gave off a quick neigh before turning away and disappearing into the forest. The second one did the same, leaving the winged figure to continue to watch. But unlike the other two, its focus was not on the bag Twilight was carrying...but on Flash.

In a dark unknown place, a figure sat on a large throne, his eyes staring at a bunch of large computer screens. On them were series of numbers and blueprints, which were all being focused on. That is, till a beeping sound went off, causing him to press a button in his chair.

"Report." he said as the screens now showed the three teens that had been chasing the girl, their Pokémon partners standing in the corner at the same time.

"Forest here," the green haired teen replied.

"Pyron, checking in." the redheaded teen said next with crossed arms.

"Cecelia, reporting for duty." the blue haired girl finished.

The figure sighed at this. "For your sake, you'd better have good news for me."

In response, the three teens all gulped as Forest started, "Well...we were able to track Sunset down."

"And?"

"We had her, but uh...something happened with the target." Pyron added as he slightly looked away.

"We believe the energy build-up you were talking about has started happening," Cecelia told him next. "Sunset's bag began to glow before unleashing a blast of energy, which knocked us all unconscious."

Forest nodded at this. "When we came too, Sunset and the target were gone."

The figure sighed at this before turning to another computer, his fingers typing in a rapid fury. "Of course they were. No matter. If the energy is building, then it will soon hatch. We're running out of time."

"We will get it back sir. Please, just give us another chance."

The figure let out a low growl, "You better get it back!" the figure then glared back at the screens, "You three are lucky that the egg's energy is very distinctive and easy to pick up! Are you at the location the energy blast occurred?!"

"We are," Cecelia replied, nodding.

"Then I'll lock in on your location and scan for the energy, which should allow me to pick up the trail." He turned back to the computer, a ping soon happening. "Got it. It seems to be leading to a city several miles away."

"Send us the coordinates," Forest told him.

"Just follow the river you're beside right now. I'll send you the Z.Z Flyers to get you there quicker. Once you've arrived, use your Gauntlets to track the energy readings."

"Right. We won't let you down sir."

The figure's eyes narrowed at this, only to slam down his fist with a loud bang. "You better not! If you know what's good for you, you'll get me that Pokémon!" The figure told the three on screen. With that, he switched off the computers and phased into the darkness.

Forest, Pyron and Cecelia all sighed as the screens on their wrist mounted devices went dead. "Come on," Forest told the other two as they and their Pokémon began to head towards the city. "We can't afford to let her get away."

"Yeah...the boss can be scary when he's angry." Pyron added, "If we don't get her soon, who knows what he'll do to us."

Cecelia shook her head at this, "She got the drop on us last time, but she won't do it again. We'll find her, subdue her and take back what's ours."

"Then let's get going," Forest said before looking up at the sky and smiling. "Perfect timing." Pyron and Cecelia glanced up and also smiled, all now seeing three strange objects, one green, one red and one blue, fly up to them. They appeared to resemble flying saucers, as they were large metal disks with a round top. The objects slowly descended in front of the trio, which they all tapped their Gauntlets, causing the saucers to beep before transforming. The rounded tops opened up, allowing a pair of ski pole like devices to fold out. The three then returned their Pokémon before climbing onto the disks, all on their matching colors as they grabbed the handles. They switched them on and the devices buzzed to life before slowly lifting them up into the air. "Let's go!"

"Here we come Sunset," Cecelia added.

"Hope you're not too banged up after last night," Pyron finished, only for Forest to snap his fingers.

"That's right!"

"What's up?" Cecelia asked.

"She would have likely been hit by that blast at point blank range, meaning she was hit just as hard as us."

"So?"

"So how did she get all the way to the city on her own, while likely being injured?" Forest asked back.

A click went off in Cecelia's brain. "She couldn't have, unless she had help!"

"Exactly! That means we should also assume that whoever helped her will likely get in our way. It's also possible that Sunset doesn't have the target at all, and someone else found her and took it from her."

"Which situation is better for us?" Pyron asked.

Cecelia shook her head at this, "It doesn't matter. Either way, we just have to get the target and blow away anyone who gets in our way!"

Pyron smirked at that. "Aw yeah, I'm totally up for that! Whoever's got that egg better hope they get rid of it before we arrive! Heh...nobody's stopping us from getting our hands on it! NOBODY!"

"Achoo!" Flash sneezed, sniffing his nose before rubbing it against his sleeve.

"Classy," Twilight grumbled as she sat next to him.

"Sorry, couldn't help it."

Doc chuckled at this, "You know what they say about sneezing. Somebody must be talking about you."

"Eh, its probably that guy I beat earlier," Flash replied as he put his arms around his head. "I bet he's telling his friends about how awesome I am."

"Sure, that's likely it." Spike commented as he played with Peewee.

"Smart aleck," Flash grumbled as he sat back in his chair and looked around the room for what felt like the hundredth time. After arriving in the large city they were in, they had quickly found the nearest hospital and had deposited their mysterious new travelling companion into their care. Now they were in the waiting room, waiting to hear whether or not she would be okay.

Twilight was reading one of the magazines they had while the bag she had taken from the girl rested by her feet. Doc was also reading a magazine, a mechanic's one, while Spike was sitting on the floor scratching Peewee's belly. Springe was also here, though he was in the corner playing connect four against himself.

Flash then let out a sigh, "Aw man, how long's it gonna take?"

"We have to be patient Flash. These things take time." Twilight replied as she flipped another page.

"Time? How much time?"

"Excuse me?" They all turned to see the nurse that had gone into the ER with the girl.

"And that would be the prefect amount of time," Flash remarked as he stood up and moved over to her. "What can you tell us?"

"Your friend's gonna be okay. She's got a few scrapes and a bump on the head, but the biggest issue is the amount of fatigue she appears to be experiencing. A few day's rest and she'll be perfectly fine."

"That's good," Twilight said before looking down at the bag. "Do you mind if we see her? I'd like to give her this bag back."

"Of course," the nurse replied before motioning them to follow. As they walked behind her, they passed by a window and suddenly heard something.

Spike then moved over to the window and looked outside, soon spotting a bunch of people littering the streets, all of them carrying banners and pushing carts around. "What's going on?" He asked as the others looked out the window as well.

The nurse just giggled at this. "Obviously you're not aware of the Eclipse Festival."

"Eclipse Festival?"

She nodded at this. "Yes. Its a special festival the city's holding in honor of the solar eclipse that's taking place this Saturday."

"Solar eclipse?" Spike asked while tilting his head.

"Isn't that when the sun blocks out the moon?" Flash also asked.

"Moon blocks the sun," Doc corrected him.

"Right, yeah...so there's a festival happening for it?"

"Yes. It'll be a big celebration, followed by a watching event in the town square."

"Sounds like fun. Maybe we can stick around and watch it?" Spike asked as he turned to his sister.

"I don't mind," Twilight replied before turning to the others. "How about you all?"

"I'm up for it." Flash remarked with a smile.

"Sound intriguing. I would love to see the eclipse." Doc commented while nodding.

"I'm glad you'll be going. Now, should we go see your friend?" the nurse asked, getting three nods in return.

As Sunset began to come to, the first thing she felt was a throbbing headache. She let out a moan as her eyes began to open, only to slam shut when the light above her burned her retinas. "Ohhh...." she moaned as she sat up and reopened her eyes. Soon rubbing them, she blinked at the now white ceiling above her, "What is-where am I?"

She slowly tried to get up, her eyes glancing around. She then noticed her jacket on a nearby chair before rubbing her head in pain, "Ohhh...how did I get here?" Her head started to look back into her memories, only for her brain to click, "Oh no! My bag!" she looked back at the chair, which she noticed didn't have her bag. She started to glance around, starting to hyperventilate as she tried to find the bag, "Where is it?! Where's my bag?!"

Her panic only stopped when she heard the sound of a door opening. "Oh, you're awake." She spun around and saw a group of people enter the room, one of which was holding her bag.

Sunset's eyes narrowed as she leapt out of bed, "THIEF! Give me back my bag!" She ran towards the girl, only for the blue haired boy to jump in front of her. He quickly grabbed Sunset around the waist and pulled her away from the girl, his grip too strong for her to break. "Stop that! Let go and give me my bag!"

"Hey!" He called out, "We weren't trying to steal your bag."

"Then why do you have it?!" Sunset asked as she struggled. "Give it back now!"

Twilight shook her head at this, "We found you with it. I was keeping it safe until you woke up."

"Well I'm awake now, so hand it over!"

"Hey!" The youngest of the group yelled as he pointed at her, "We saved you! If it wasn't for us, you'd be floating down a river somewhere and in way worse shape than you are now!"

The oldest of the males nodded at this. "He's correct. So how about a little appreciation?"

Sunset glared at the two teens, then at the one holding her before sighing as she stopped struggling. And as the teen let her go, she moaned, "I'm sorry for lashing out, and I am thankful for what you did." She held out her hands, "but can I please have my bag back?"

The girl nodded before giving it back, Sunset quickly grabbing it and peeking inside. She then breathed a sigh of relief as she zipped the bag back up a second later.

"What's in there that's so important?" The youngest teen asked.

The girl nudged him, "That's none of our concern. She doesn't have to tell us if she doesn't want to."

"And I really don't want to," Sunset grumbled as she put the bag on her side.

The blue haired teen shrugged at this, "Eh, that's okay then. My name's Flash by the way, Flash Sentry."

"I'm Twilight Sparkle," the girl said before tapping the youngest on the shoulder. "This is my brother."

"Spike's the name."

"And I'm Doc."

Flash then knelt down and patted the Riolu next to him on the head. "And this is my partner, Springer.

"Riolu!"

"And Peewee."

"Terra!"

"I'm Sunset Shimmer," she replied as the nurse then stepped up to her. She then began to push her towards the bed, forcing her to sit down.

"Now you stay here and rest. I have a few more tests to run now that you're awake."

Sunset shook her head at this. "Oh, you don't need to do that. I actually need to be going now."

"Absolutely not!" the nurse harshly shrieked, pointing at Sunset. "You're staying right there until we decide you're good to go!"

"And how long will that take?!" Sunset barked back.

"As long as it needs to," she replied, crossing her arms. "You were in bad shape when they found you young lady. You are in no condition to go anywhere!"

Sunset sighed at this, only for her eyes to go wide as another thought entered her head. "Wait...what day is it?!"

"Monday. Why?" Doc asked.

She breathed a sigh of relief. "So I still have five days left..."

"Left until what?" Spike asked next, only to snap his fingers, "Oh wait, you're talking about the eclipse thing, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am."

"You thinking of going to the festival?"

"Festival?" Sunset asked, tilting her head at the question.

"That's enough questions," the nurse said before turning to the others. "I'm going to have to ask you all to leave her be for now." She then glanced at Sunset. "I'll be back in a moment and we can start doing those tests."

"Right...okay." Sunset replied as she watched them leave the room.

As they did this, Flash spoke up, "So...what do you guys think?"

"She's hiding something," Doc replied, rubbing his chin in thought. "The question is 'what'?"

"And why was she so protective about her bag?" Twilight added.

"Maybe if you had let us look inside, we would-OW!" Spike yelped as Twilight flicked his ear.

She glared down at him. "I told you Spike, its rude to look in other people's bags."

Flash then knelt down next to Springer, "Did you manage to get a good sense of her aura?"

"Ri," Springer nodded.

"So, what did you feel?"

"Ri, Riolu, Rio."

Flash hummed at this, "Fear and annoyance?"

Doc nodded at this. "The annoyance is probably because she's stuck here, but what could she be scared about?"

"Maybe she's scared we're gonna find out what she's up to and hand her over to Officer Hard Case?" Spike guessed.

"Now let's not jump to those kind of conclusions," Twilight replied as she tapped her foot. "Just because we don't know anything about her doesn't mean we should suspect her of anything. She hasn't done anything truly suspicious, or-"

But before she could say another word, a loud banging sound suddenly rang out. Noticing it was coming from Sunset's room, the group all looked at each other before turning to and making their way to the door. Flash then went inside, only to find the room empty, "What the heck?!"

"Where'd she go?" Spike asked next.

"The window!" Doc pointed at it, the viewpoint now open.

"But we're three stories up," Twilight commented as the group went over to it, only to look down as see Sunset shimmying down a drain pipe and landing on the ground below. The girl then looked up at the window, staring at them before rushing off.

Spike turned to Twilight with a smirk. "That suspicious enough for you?"

Twilight rolled her eyes as Flash pulled out a Pokeball before tossing it into the air, releasing his Chickling, Skyler. "Chick?"

Flash pointed at the fleeing Sunset, "Skyler, follow her!"

"Chickling!" Skyler screeched before shooting off towards the direction he was shown.

"Come on, let's follow her!" Flash yelled as he ran out of the room, the others soon following.

Sunset ran through the streets as fast as she could, clutching her bag tightly as she whimpered, "Have to get away....have to keep moving! I just hope its not too late."

But it seemed that the universe was against the girl this day, as in that second, a fireball shot out of nowhere and struck a festival stall she was running by.

KABOOM!

She barely managed to stop herself from being blasted off her feet as the stall exploded. And as she looked up at where the fireball had come from, she spotted the source, "Pyron."

The redheaded teen smirked as he hovered above the girl, his Vipeacon coiled around his body as its tail end started to fume smoke. "Nice to see you again Sunset. I see you managed to keep the egg safe for us."

Sunset glared as she held the bag closer to her chest, "I didn't keep it safe for you."

"Now, now," Sunset turned to see Cecelia flying right behind her, her Reptidal standing on a roof next to her, "Let's all be civilized about this. Just give us what we want, and we'll be happy to leave you be."

"Never!" Sunset screamed as she clenched the bag, "You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands!"

"Don't think we won't take you up on that offer," she turned again to see Forest float down a few feet away from her. His Stagrowth stepped up next to him, horns primed for battle. "You're outnumbered Sunset, so do that smart thing and hand it over."

Sunset just shivered at the sight, unable to find a way to escape. "No...I won't-"

"Gust!" yelled a voice, a powerful windstorm following as it kicked up a cloud of dust. Everyone was blinded by the whirlwind, coughing as the dust filled their lungs.

"What's going on?!" Forest yelled as he shielded his eyes.

"I can't see a thing!" Pyron cried.

"Me either!" Cecelia added.

Sunset was also blinded, but before she could act, she felt someone grab her hand. "Come on," she heard a familiar voice speak out, soon pulling her out of the cloud.

And when the dust finally cleared, the three teens and their Pokémon looked around and saw that Sunset was gone. "Where'd she go?!"

"Calm down Pyron," Forest told him as he looked down at his Gauntlet. "I'm still picking up the energy reading. She won't escape." He started up his Z.Z Flyer and started to ascend, "Let's go!"

Sunset breathed a sigh of relief as she caught her breath in the back alley she was in. Flash and his friends were there with her, also catching their breath.

"Who were those guys?" Spike asked.

Sunset shook her head, "No time to explain. I have to get out of here, quickly."

"Why? What is-"

"There you are!" They looked up and saw Forest staring at them, Stagrowth beside him.

"RUN!" Sunset screamed as she started running in the opposite direction, the others following after her a second later.

"Oh no you don't! Energy Ball!"

"Stag!" The Pokémon cried out as a green ball of energy appeared between its horns, which it then flicked at the group.

"Aura Sphere!" Flash ordered, as Springer created his own little ball of energy.

"Riolu!" He yelled as he spun around and tossed the sphere at Stagrowth's, the two colliding and causing an explosion.

"Augh!" Forest yelped as the shockwave forced him and Stagrowth back.

As this happened, the others rushed out of the alley wat, only to hear another voice. "Incinerate!" A fireball hit the ground in front of them, a explosion following as it knocked them back. And as they fell, Pyron and his Vipeacon appeared before them as the trainer yelled, "Again!"

"Vipea!" Vipeacon raised its tail, which shot a fireball out like a cannonball.

"Gust!" Flash ordered, Skyler flying in front and beating his wings. The gust pushed the flames back to its source.

"Whoa!" Pyron yelped as he pulled his Z.Z Flyer away, only for the fireball to explode and send him flying. "Augh!"

"This way!" Sunset called out as they started running in the opposite direction. She then spotted a sign that gave her hope. "The train station! That's it!"

But as they ran towards the station, Cecelia and her Reptidal landed in front of them, a huge smile on her face. "Aww...so close. Reptidal, use Aqua Break!"

"Rep!" Reptidal screeched, bum-rushing the group with a created blade of water.

"Steel Wing!" Skyler shot forwards, wings glowing as the two connected, their attacks now clashing. The impact knocked both back, only for Springer to hop over Skyler with a single glowing paw.

"RIOLU!" He leapt at the Reptidal before thrusting his paw into its chest, a full-powered Force Palm hitting the Pokémon at full power. The attack knocked the creature off its feet, making Cecelia yelp as her lizard flew into her.

"Come on!" Sunset yelled as they rushed past the now pinned trainer. They ran onto the platform, just in time to spot a train as it began to pull away. Sunset's eyes became laser focused as she ran towards it.

"Hey! Wait!" Twilight screamed.

"No time!" Sunset cried as she raced after the moving vehicle, reaching out to grab the railing of the final car. She managed to grab it and pulled herself on before looking back at the others.

"Oh no you don't," Flash said as he reached out and grabbed the railing. Springer leapt up onto his back and jumped onto the car, the others soon doing the same. Twilight, then Spike, and as they reached the end of the platform, Doc managed to grab hold as well.

But as they all got on, Sunset just blinked at the sight, "Oh...you made it." She then let out a groan, her tone now dripping with sarcasm, "Yay."

"Yeah...we did." Flash panted as he pointed at her, "Now...how about...an explanation?!"

Sunset just gulped at this, only for her eyes to go wide as she looked back at the train station. There in the distance was the three teens again, all on their flyers as they started to chase the train. "You're not getting away Sunset!" Pyron roared, "Give up now!"

The group all gasped at this, seeing they were now trapped. Sunset shivered at the sight, only to look down as she saw a glow coming from her bag. Seeing this, a bulb went off in her head, "That's it!" She then went up to the railing, unzipping the bag as she yelled, "You want it?!" she pointed the bag at them. "Then here, TAKE IT!" Suddenly, a blast of light burst from the bag. The attack flew towards the trio, all of them gasping as they tried to dodge. But it was too late.

"AAAAaaahhhhh!!!" they all yelled as the blast barely missed them, only to cause an explosion a second later, knocking them all off their Z.Z Flyers. They cried out as they hit the dirt, their figures soon disappearing in the distance.

"And that's that." Sunset commented as she zipped her bag back up, only to see Flash and the others all glaring at her. She then let out a series of nervous chuckles, "So uh...I'm guessing you have a lot of questions."

The four humans and three Pokémon frowned at this.

"Ahh!" Sunset cried as she was pushed into the box car, landing on a seat as the group glared at her, Doc shutting the door behind them.

"Alright, you! Talk!" Flash yelled as he pointed at her.

"Who were those guys?!" Spike asked next.

"Why were they chasing you?" Doc added.

"And what are you hiding in that bag?" Twilight finished.

Sunset looked down at the bag, her lips quivering as she kept her mouth shut. She looked slightly away, causing them all to sigh or growl. Seeing this, Doc spoke up, "Listen here young lady! The way I see it, this can only mean two things. You're either a criminal who stole something, meaning we just became accessory, or those guys were trying to steal something that's yours, meaning we can help you."

"So just tell us what's going on!" Twilight added, her finger now pointing directly at the bag, "And what's in that bag of yours?!"

Sunset looked back up, unable to find a solution. As such, she let out a long sigh. "Fine...." she began to unzip her bag, soon pulling it open to show what was inside.

"What is that thing?" Flash asked as they stared at the object in the bag.

"Is that...a Pokémon egg?" Twilight added as she looked it over.

"Yes..." Sunset replied as she showed it to them. The egg was half black and half white. One side was white with a black sun shape on it while the other side was black with a white crescent moon shape. Sunset then let out another sigh, "Inside this egg is a Pokémon that the world hasn't seen for a thousand years. It has amazing powers, which is why those three are after it. They uh...they work for a man who wants to use that Pokémon's power for some...really evil stuff."

The whole group raised their eyebrows at this, Spike then asking, "And you know this, how?"

Sunset sighed one more time. "Because like those three, I used to work for that man. His name is...Doctor Mechano."

View Online

Many years ago...

It began inside a large metal room, one filled with multiple giant metallic devices, all of them covering every corner of the room. Standing in the center was Doctor Mechano, a lanky middle aged man with frizzy graying blonde hair, who was wearing a long white lab coat over a black shirt, complete with a pair of thick goggles on his forehead.

He looked up at a device he was standing next to and smiled, the machine in question having as a pair mechanical arms with satellite dishes on the ends. It was here his ears heard some footsteps, the doctor soon turning to a group of figures hiding in the shadows.

"Ahh...welcome!" Mechano announced while extending his arms, "I'm happy you could make it."

"Enough of the pleasantries," the lead figure growled as it stepped forward. "You said you had a breakthrough?"

"I did," Mechano reached down and picked up a case, soon opening it to reveal a computer terminal. "After much research and thanks to your...err, generous funding, I have finally discovered a way to access the dimensional pocket realm that holds the Pokémon your organization has been after." He then turned to the machine. "Once connected to the terminal, this device will open a portal to those dimensions before dragging the two out."

The leader of the group chuckled at this, "And then we will do the rest, provided you can actually pull this off."

"Prepare to be happily surprised." Mechano replied with a smirk, now pulling a cord out of the machine and putting it into the terminal. Placing the computer on the table, he started to type as he narrated, "Now....ah! Dimensional coordinates locked, beginning multiversal scan." The machine began to beep and boop, multiple lights flashing again and again. "Scan complete, begin dimensional tearing."

The arms on the device moved up and pointed the dishes at two separate walls, electrical energy surging around them.

"FIRE!"

Each dish fired a beam of light at the wall, soon making a pair of portals to appear on the walls. Everyone watched in amazement as the portals grew larger and larger. Mechano could tell they were impressed, naturally causing him to smile.

But then-

BOOM!

A part of the machine exploded, followed by another part and another. "What?!" Mechano yelped as he ran to the device, only for-

KABOOM!

"Aaahhh!" Mechano was propelled backwards, crashing into the floor as a piece of burning metal landed on his left side. "AAAAAHHHHH!" The pieces of the exploded machine flew throughout the lab, all of them striking the other devices, causing them to explode as well.

The group of figures quickly turned and fled, the only one staying being the leader. He instead calmly stepped over to where Mechano had fallen. Mechano looked up at the man, then held out his right hand. "Please...help....me."

The man didn't reply, instead bending down and holding out his hand. That is, till the hand grabbed the nearby computer terminal and looked it over. "No damage. Good. Such a shame it was a failure, but...seems this data will still be of some use." With that, he turned and walked away.

"NO! Please don't! Please don't leave me!" Mechano yelled, only for his cries to fall of deaf ears. And as he continued to scream, the figure stepped into the smoke-filled flames and disappeared. "NOOOOO!"

"AHH!" Mechano yelped as he awoke, sweat now pouring down his face as pants escaped his mouth. "Ohhh...it was a dream. Just...a dream..."

The man then took off his bed covers, showing his true face. His entire left side was now covered with a robotic mask, his left eye now completely replaced with a red cybernetic eyeball. He wore a black metal suit while both his right arm and leg had been replaced with robotic prosthetics.

Once he'd managed to get his breathing under control, he hopped out of bed and into a chair that sat in front of multiple computers. Turning them on, the room was illuminated by the light of the screens, bringing the many equations that were doodled on the walls into sight. Three of the screens then showed the images of Forest, Pyron and Cecelia, the trio looking a lot worst for wear. "Report."

Forest started with a gulp, "My apologies sir. We found Sunset, but she got away again."

Mechano growled at this. "How?"

"She cheated!" Mechano turned to Pyron, frowning at him.

Cecelia then rolled her eyes. "She didn't cheat. She escaped on a train, and then used the egg's energy output to damage our Z.Z Flyers."

"And she had help," Forest continued. "Four teens, three of which are trainer age, were with her. They helped her escape to the train."

"I see. Let's see what we can do about that..." Mechano mumbled as he turned to another computer, soon typing into it, "The thing about trains, is that they can be very predictable." The screen now showed a map, which he pointed to, "There. That's where we'll strike. I'll send you the coordinates and new Z.Z Flyers. Be at the location by the time I'm there."

The three teens' eyes went wide. "You're coming sir?"

Mechano nodded. "If it was just Sunset, I'd trust you three to handle it. But with those four helping her, it causes too many variables. You three will handle these trainers while I take the target."

"Yes sir." With that, the three screens switched off. Once again alone, Mechano chair moved backwards along a track that lined with the floor. Once at a certain spot, it was lifted into the air by a pole and pushed towards the ceiling. But before he got close, a hole in the roof appeared and Mechano was sent right through it. After flying up a long tunnel, Mechano shot through the floor of another room, this one being a glass dome, allowing him to look outside as the clouds shot passed him.

"I never get tired of this sight." he commented as he looked down, now glancing at the bottom of his ship. He then looked up, seeing a giant balloon above him. He was now admiring all of his ship, which was a giant blimp. "Yes...its so soon now. Soon I will find the Eclipse Temple."

Back on the train...

Flash, Twilight, Spike, Doc, Springer and Peewee all stared at the egg that Sunset was holding, Twilight adjusting her glasses as she leaned up to it, "Incredible. I've never seen anything like this."

Sunset laughed at this. "Well of course you haven't. How many times have you seen a legendary Pokémon's egg?"

"Counting this one, once." Flash joked, making everyone laugh before Doc gave Sunset glare.

"Not to destroy this mood, but....this Doctor Mechano you speak of. He wants the egg?"

Sunset shook her head. "Not the egg, but the Pokémon inside. Its...the legendary Pokémon, Eclixie."

Everyone raised an eyebrow hearing this, Twilight commenting, "I've never heard of Eclixie before." Everyone all stared at her in shock at the statement, knowing Twilight's extensive knowledge.

"Its no surprise," they turned back to Sunset. "Considering there hasn't been one in this universe for over a thousand years."

"Why's that?" Spike asked.

Sunset looked down at the egg, a small sigh following, "Eclixie comes from another universe. Every thousand years, their eggs are sent here to hatch. Once that happens, they must find a place called the Eclipse Temple. Its there that they're able to open a portal to their own universe and return home. But....but there's a time limit, and once it passes, Eclixie will be trapped here forever."

"When's the time limit up?" Flash asked with crossed arms.

Sunset looked up at them, a huge frown on her face. "We have until the eclipse is over, which is five days from now."

"The eclipse?" Twilight asked next.

"In order to open the portal, Eclixie needs to have access to both solar and lunar energy. The Eclipse Temple was built in a location which, during the eclipse, will be bathed in the two energies."

"I see," Doc hummed as he looked back down at the egg. "So this Doctor Mechano wants Eclixie for its portal opening abilities?"

"I...don't know. Maybe he does..."

"How did Mechano even get the egg anyway?" Spike asked.

Sunset sighed again. "I was the one who found the egg. You see, for a long time, I was alone in the world. My parents died when I was young, so I was brought up in an orphanage. But I never fit in, so I ran away the first chance I got. That's when it happened...."

Three years ago...

Sunset shivered as the snow fell onyo her clothes, soaking them with the frozen water. She was walking through the streets of a big city in the middle of winter, no place to keep warm. And as she kept moving, she spotted the entrance of a park and smiled, soon running up to a gazebo like structure. She made her way into the small complex, laying a bench inside the gazebo as she continued to shiver, "Its all over. Please....anyone....help me find a place to belong."

And then it happened.

The night sky was illuminated by a brilliant flash of light, forcing Sunset to shield her eyes. The light was so bright that it radiated a brilliant warmth that seemed to dry Sunset's damp clothing, melting the snow around her. As her eyes adjusted to the light, she looked back up and went wide-eyed.

The light died down, revealing the light's source to be the egg, floating in the air. It then drifted over to Sunset, landing in her outstretched hands. As soon as she touched it, she suddenly felt something in her heart click. "What...what is this?"

"It is your destiny."

Sunset gasped as she spun around, spotting four figures wearing cloaks. It was Doctor Mechano, along with the younger versions of Forest, Pyron and Cecelia. The four of them stared at her, Mechano in joy and the others in confusion.

"Who...who are you?"

Mechano gave the confused girl a giant smile. "People who want to help you achieve your destiny as Eclixie's guardian."

Sunset raised an eyebrow, then looked down at the egg. "Eclixie...Guardian?"

Mechano nodded as he held out his hand. "Come with me, let me help you."

Sunset's eyes went wide. Was this it, her chance to get off the streets and make a name for herself? Without a second's thought, she took the man's robotic hand.

Present day...

"And ever since then, I've been with him. He taught me everything. Science, math, Pokémon studies. I wouldn't be who I am today without him."

"And you had no idea what he was planning?"

Susnet shook her head, "None. It wasn't until two days ago that I learned the truth."

Flash raised an eyebrow at this. "Which is?"

Sunset was about to answer, only for a bright light to fill the train car, blinding everyone. They then looked down at the egg, seeing it was the origin of the light. The group started to walk away from the egg, Sunset gripping the egg in fear of what happened last time as Spike asked, "Is that thing about to uh...explode?"

Sunset didn't answer Spike's question, a gulp going down her throat before looking back down at the egg. Unlike the last time, this glow pulsed dimmer and then brighter. She then suddenly felt the egg tug at her grasp, causing her to loosen, allowing the egg to float up into the air as the pulsing light increased in intensity. That light let out another blast, making everyone but Sunset shield their eyes in pain.

It was here that the egg began to change shape, its metamorphosis starting as the light began to die down. And as the others were finally able to open their eyes, they all gasped at they now saw the Pokémon that had just been born.

It was humanoid in appearance, with the color of its body being a mixture of black and white. It had a rounded white head that had a thick black line running from its forehead to the back of its neck. One the sides of its head were wing shaped ears, while a pair of transparent insect wings could be seen sprouting out of its back. Its body and arms were white, while its legs, feet and hands were black. Finally, on its stomach was the same black sun pattern that had been on the egg.

"Wow!" Everyone let out it unison.

Twilight turned to Sunset, "Is that...Eclixie?"

Sunset nodded at this. "Must be. I've never seen it before, but I'm sure that's it."

Spike stepped towards it wide still wide eyes, "Its so cool." He then felt a hand on his shoulder, making him turn to look at Doc.

"Careful Spike, the little guy's just hatched. He's likely to be very wary of us at first."

They all watched as the black and white fairy opened its eyes, looking at each and every one of them. That is, till a huge smile appeared on its face, "Eclixie!" The little Pokémon cheered as it flew around the train car, causing everyone to laugh at its excitement.

"So much for being wary," Flash commented as his eyes kept shifting at the sight, "Little guy sure is happy."

Twilight nodded next. "Agreed. It doesn't seem scared at all. Quite interesting for a baby Pokémon, as most are usually...well, nervous at times."

Sunset stood up and held out her hand. "Come here Eclixie."

The fairy Pokémon turned to her before smiling, "Eclixie!" He flew into her arms, instantly hugging the girl.

Tears went down Sunset's face as she hugged back, "Eclixie…its so nice to finally meet you."

"Eclixie..." it rubbed his head into her chest. Everyone laughed and smiled at this, now feeling that Eclixie's presence seemed to make them all feel a sense of joy. They then watched as Eclixie's head pop out of the hug, soon flying out of Sunset's grasp with its eyes closed.

Spike turned to Sunset. "What's it doing?"

Sunset rubbed her chin at this, a bulb soon going off, "Wow. That was fast."

"What do you mean?"

"Well...It must have picked up on the Eclipse Temple's location."

"It can sense it?" Flash asked with a slight backpedal.

"Riolu?!"

"Yes. At least, according to the legends Mechano studied."

Doc nodded at this. "I see. I was wondering how you expected to find the temple if nobody knows where it is."

Eclixie's eyes then opened up with another smile before turning to a nearby window, only to fly right into it. "Ooh!" They all flinched as the little pixie bounced off the glass, landing on the floor with a thud. "That must have hurt."

"Ecli..." Eclixie moaned as it picked itself up and rubbed its head.

Sunset laughed before bending down and hugging it again. "Relax little guy. We'll get off at the next station and then head to the ruins." She then held it up so it was eye level with her. "I promise, I'll keep you safe."

Twilight placed a hand on the her shoulder. "You won't be alone. We'll help you." Flash, Spike, Doc and their Pokémon all nodded, causing a smile to appear on her face.

"Thank you. And uh...sorry about all the stuff from before."

Twilight shook her head, "Its fine. We understand."

And as everybody smiled at this, the train suddenly started to rumble, causing everyone to stagger. "What the heck?!" Flash yelped as he grabbed Twilight, the girl grabbing her brother at the same time.

The train had arrived at a canyon, with a large bridge connecting the two sides. Inside the canyon was a rapidly flowing river, which would fork off in several different directions later. As the train had arrived at the bridge and began to cross it, the group looked out the window as they saw the flowing river below them. But as they did this, they all suddenly found themselves being flung into the wall as the train came to a, unexpected halt. "WHOA!" Flash and Doc yelped as somehow found themselves sitting on their seats, only to be flattened as Twilight, Sunset, Spike, Springer, Peewee and Eclixie slammed into them. "BLAUGH!"

A minute later, they began to untangle themselves, only for the intercom in the carriage began to grab their attention. "We apologize for the sudden stop, but damage to the track has caused us to make an emergency stop."

Doc raised an eyebrow at this, "Damage to the track?"

"I don't like the sound of this," Flash added.

"Riolu," Springer nodded.

Spike turned to his sister, "So uh...what happens now?"

"They'll probably inspect the track and see if it can be fixed, and if it can't, we'll have to head back to the last station."

Sunset frowned at this, "Meaning we'll be in danger of getting caught by those three again."

Flash shook his head at this, soon pointing at himself, "Don't worry about it. If those three try anything, we'll knock them down a peg or two."

Sunset looked up at Flash, then back at Eclixie, "Thanks. It does feel nice to know I'm not on my own against them."

"Its no problem. We're here to help-"

"Look out!" Spike shouted as he pointed at the window. The command made them all hit the deck as a figure rushed at the window.

SMASH!

They shielded their eyes as the glass shattered, soon seeing it was a Pokémon. It resembled a pair of interlocking gears with six teeth each. The teeth of the gears were a light gray, along with a darker central region. Each gear had a white 'X' for its left eye and a black colored right eye, along with a goofy greenish nose and mouth.

"Its a Klink!" Twilight shrieked as she pointed at the Gear Pokémon.

"Oh no....that's Mechano's Pokémon!"

Flash turned to her, "Seriously?! Its not one of those trio's?!"

"Yeah! He's the only one that owns a Klink." In that moment, the Gear Pokémon began to spin its two halves at immense speed before bum-rushing them.

"RIOLU!" Springer quickly leapt at the Klink, an Aura Sphere appearing in his paws as he struck the Steel-Type, the force knocking it out of the window.

"That was close," Flash said before looking down at his partner. "Nice one. That was some quick thinking bud."

"Ri!" Springer cheered before giving Flash a thumbs up.

Sunset let out a gulp, quickly getting up and staring at the window before her and Eclixie both went wide eyed, "We're not out of the woods yet." Everyone then saw what she meant, soon seeing a ton more Klink outside of the train, along with what appeared to be its evolved forms.

"We need to get out of here," Doc then grabbed the door of the train car, opening it as he and the others rushed through the carriage, the Klink and Klang in hot pursuit.

"You guys do remember we're on a train right?" Sunset asked as they rushed into another carriage, Flash shutting the door to slow the Pokémon down. "And that we're on a bridge, over a raging river?"

"I know," Doc replied growled as he opened another door.

"But its not like we've got a lot of options right now," Twilight finished as her ears heard the sound of glass breaking, one of the Klink flying through a shattered window in front of them. "AAAHHH!"

"Force Palm!" Springer rushed ahead, slamming a blue burning paw into the Gear Pokémon.

"RIOLU!" The Klink was flung into wall, knocking it out instantly. But as Doc opened the door to the next carriage, he found it was filled with Klink and Klang, screaming people also inside as the Pokémon starting breaking every window.

Doc bit his lip at the sight, only to see a nearby ladder, "Up here!" He yelled as he started climbing up to the roof.

The group nodded, Twilight helping Spike up before following herself. Sunset was about to do the same, only to see Flash staring down the Pokémon that entered the carriage. "What are you doing?!"

Flash pulled out a Pokeball in response. "You go on ahead. I'm gonna take these things down and then catch up." Sunset nodded before climbing up, Eclixie flying by her side with a confused look on its face. Flash then enlarged the Pokeball and threw it into the air, "Viper! Help me!"

"Scor!" Viper yelled as it appeared in the room.

Up on the roof, Sunset joined the others and saw the many Klink and Klang surrounding them. Sunset then turned to Doc, "How was this better than being protected inside the carriage?!"

Doc smirked as he and Twilight pulled out their Pokeballs, "Because now, we've got room to move. Tockwork!"

"Owlicious!"

"Come on out!" They both tossed the Pokeballs into the air, opening to release the creatures inside.

"Tock/Hoo!" The two Pokémon got into a fighting stance, Tockwork readying its gears to attack while Owlicious flexed its wings. Peewee also leapt off Spike's shoulder, ready to fight.

The Klink and Klang shot towards the group. "Gear Grind!" Tockwork launched the gears off its arms, both smashing a pair of Klink before bouncing off and hitting a Klink and Klang next.

"Confusion!"

"Hoo!" Owlicious's eyes glowed before a pair of beams shot out, striking one of the Klang and knocking it back. The Psychick then spun on the spot, allowing it to steer the laser at the barrage of enemies.

Spike turned to Peewee "Ember Peewee!"

Peewee nodded before taking a large breath in, "Terr...WAGON!" It then unloaded a flurry of small fireballs, all exploding at the swarm of Klink and Klang.

Sunset just started in amazement at the three's skill, watching as the army that surrounded them was slowly thinning out. "Mind if we join?" She turned around at the voice, only to see Flash and his Pokémon climb up onto the roof, "Looks like fun. Viper, use Flamethrower!"

Viper leapt off his shoulder before unleashing a stream of fire, the flames wiping out the last enemy, "HIsscor!" he smirked as he landed.

"Nice timing Flash," Twilight replied as her Pokémon landed on her shoulder.

Flash smirked as he rubbed his nose, "Its one of my specialities."

"Come on, let's get out of here before they recover!" Doc yelled at them as he gestured the group to follow him to the train engine. Everyone nodded to do so, but before they even got to the next carriage-

"STAGROWTH!" Thawn's fully evolved form landed on the roof, blocking their way.

They all gasped and tried to turn around, "REPTIDAL/VIPEACON!" Hisscor and Aquana's final forms landed on other side of the roof, the water Pokémon creating its water katana before pointing it at them.

The ten of them all huddled back to back, only for Forest to speak up, "Don't bother," they looked up to see Forest, Pyron and Cecelia float down on their Z.Z Flyers. "There's no place to run."

"We'll see about that. Quick Attack Springer!"

"Ri!" Springer rushed at Stagrowth, jumping up to kick him.

"Horn Leech!"

"Stag!" Stagrowth lowered it's horns, which began to glow. Springer's eyes went wide at this, but he was going too fast to stop and soon found the horns being thrusted into him.

"RIOLU!" Springer yelped as he was knocked back, soon landing in Flash's catching arms.

"You okay bud?" Flash's question was met with a moan from the Riolu, his head dizzyingly rocking back and forth.

The trio all laughed at this before turning their attention to Sunset, gasping when they spotted Eclixie floating next to her. "It hatched?!"

Sunset glared at Forest before grabbing and tightly hugging Eclixie. "Yes, it did. And I'm not letting you damn monsters get your hands on it."

"Oh come now." Sunset's eyes went wide at this voice, soon looking up and seeing a small egg shaped vehicle float over to them. It was no bigger than an old fashioned car, which was silver in color with a tinted triangular window on the front. Once it was at eye level, a window opened to reveal Mechano, complete with a devilish smile, "I'm sure I taught you better than to use such language."

Sunset hissed at this sight, "Mechano..."

"That's Mechano?" Flash commented as he pointed at the disfigured scientist.

"What happened to him?" Spike asked next.

Mechano growled at the question as he reached up and scratched at the mechanical half of his face. "Nothing that concerns you. Hand over the Pokémon and we can all go on our way."

"NEVER!" Sunset screamed, her hug tightening anymore.

Mechano just sighed, shaking his head at the girl. "Sunset, why are you being so difficult? We all want the same thing, to get Eclixie to the Eclipse Temple."

"We do NOT want the same things! I want to get it there so it can go home, but you want to use it for your own ends!" Eclixie looked up at Sunset, wondering what she meant as she continued. "I saw the plans in your lab! I saw what you plan to do with them! You want to use Eclixie as a battery to open a portal to who knows where!"

Mechano let out a long huff at this, "Seriously? Why shouldn't I do this?! Eclixie's powers are wasted if I let it do what it wants. Why, with that little...thing, I'll open a portal to the home dimensions of the Legendary Pokémon, Alicormony and Dischaos."

Everyone's eyes went wide at hearing this, Flash yelping, "Legendary Pokémon?!"

Twilight's mind suddenly flashed back to when she was in the Bale Town Library. "You don't mean...the Legendary Pokémon of Positive and Negative energy?!"

Mechano nodded with a huge grin. "Indeed. I once tried to open a portal to their world, but I didn't have the necessary power and, well..." He pointed to his face, "You can see for yourself what happened. I need a power source that's not only strong enough to handle the energy drain, but that's also compatible with the energy used to create the portals." His grin continued to grow as he looked down at the fairy in Sunset's arms, "And what better power source for the gate than the Pokémon that can open the exact same portal?!"

Flash, Doc and Twilight moved around Sunset protectively, "You'll have to get through us first."

Mechano raised his one eyebrow at this, "This doesn't concern you."

"Oh, I think it does!" Twilight almost yelled. "We might've only just met, but Sunset's our friend!"

Spike nodded in agreement, "And so's Eclixie! We're not gonna let you use it for something it doesn't want!"

"ENOUGH!" Mechano roared, slamming his fist into his ship, making everyone flinch at the outburst. "I see now that there's no need for me to make you understand my genius." He then pressed a button on his controls, causing a port under the ship to open before a robotic arm folded out. At the end of that arm was a satellite dish, which fired a bolt of electricity at them.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Everyone screamed as the bolt struck Sunset and knocked everyone but Eclixie off their feet. At the same time, Eclixie was suddenly trapped as the electricity circled around him to form a cage. "Eclixie!" It cried as it tried to fly out of the cage, only to be zapped by the touch of the trap.

"HA! Like taking candy from a Happiny!" Mechano guffawed as he retracted the cage towards him.

"NO!" Sunset screamed as she scrambled to get up.

"Too late Sunset!" Mechano mocked as he tapped another button, "I'm about to-"

BLAM!

A purple beam of light suddenly hit the ship, causing Mechano's controls to spark, "What the-augh!" Mechano yelled as a spark zapped his hand, "What in the name of-no!" As he said this, the cage containing Eclixie disappeared, causing the little Pokémon to begin to fall.

"ECLIXIE!" Without a second's hesitation, Sunset leapt off the train and caught Eclixie before the two of them fell into the canyon.

"Sunset!" Twilight screamed.

"Come on!" Flash returned Viper before leaping off the train, the others quickly following suit. Soon, the five teens and three Pokémon were falling towards the river, all hitting the water with a tremendous splash.

The sight alone made Mechano's minions just stare in pure surprise. As for Mechcano, his controls stopped sparking, causing him to glare at his goons and yell, "What are you doing?! After them you fools!"

The three teens nodded before Cecelia turned to her partner. "Reptidal, jump in after them!"

"REP!" Reptidal leapt off the train, only to unexpectedly slam into an invisible wall. "REPTIDAL!"

"What?!" Cecelia asked in shock.

"What's going on?" Pyron added.

"Oh no..." Mechano growled as he began typing on his ship's computer, also scanning the area for any kind of energy signature. "This is....yeah, its what I thought. Its the move Barrier, which is surrounding all of us. Someone's trying to keep us away from our target."

"But who?" Forest asked, only to get a glare from Mechano.

"It doesn't matter! I want that Pokémon now!"

On one side of the canyon hidden in the trees, the three equine Pokémon watched as the horned one's horn glowed.

They all looked down at the raging river, hoping the ones they had helped would be far enough by the time Mechano found a way out of the barrier.

One hour later...

Sunset let out a series of shivers as she pulled herself out of the river, her new friends and their Pokémon crawling to shore beside her. Once she was a happy distance from the water, her body gave out as she fell face down into the dirt.

Flash moaned as he did the same. "Everybody okay?"

"Riolu…."

"Twilight here."

"Doc is fully functioning."

"Spike...you get the gist."

"Terra."

"Sunset. Alive, if very wet."

"...."

Sunset picked her head up and started to look around, starting to hyperventilate as her fatigue all but disappeared as she jumped to her feet. "Eclixie?!" The others picked themselves up as well as Sunset started to yell, "Eclixie, where are you?!"

"Ecli…." They all looked up to see the little pixie staring up at the sky. It was in this moment that they realized they were in a forest, complete with a sun almost setting.

"Eclixie?" Sunset whispered as she watched the Pokémon stare at the sky, the moon now raising on the horizon. "Eclixie, what's wrong?"

"Ecli..." was all Eclixie let out as it closed its eyes, only for a bright light began to cover its body. As it did this, the white part of its body began to grow darker while the black parts began to grow lighter. Eventually, its entire body was now the color of gray while the white parts of its body switched to black and vice versa. Then the black sun on its stomach disappeared, a white crescent moon shape now appearing in its place. Eclixie's eyes opened once more before it smiled, "Eclixie!"

Everyone who had watched this were completely stunned as Flash spoke up. "What...just happened?"

Twilight adjusted her glasses at this, "My best guess? Eclixie's form must change during the night."

"Awesome...." Spike added as they watched Sunset move over to Eclixie.

The little pixie flew down and landed in her hands, Sunset soon pulling it close, "Thank goodness. I almost thought I lost you." she then turned to the others. "What do we do now? It won't take long for those four to catch up to us!"

Doc shook his head at this, "I don't think so. For whatever reason, they didn't follow us when we were swept down river. That alone can give us a chance to lose them."

Twilight turned back to the river. "That river forks so much that it'll be impossible to tell which one we ended up taking."

Sunset sighed in relief as she looked down at Eclixie. "That's good. Now we can get you to the temple without worry." Eclixie smiled and nodded as Sunset glanced back at the others. "So what's the plan?"

Everyone stared at each other before Flash looked up at the moon. "Its probably best to move at night. That way, those guys will have a harder time finding us."

The others nodded in agreement, the group soon making their way into the forest. And as they did this, they could feel the danger hanging over them. If they wanted to keep themselves safe, they needed to get to the temple first. That was all they could do.

Inside Mechano's flying airship, it's master was sitting on his throne, staring at a barrage of computers while his three underlings stood around him. Once the Barrier that trapped them had disappeared, they had returned to the ship before any authorities could arrive.

Pyron turned to him. "Anything?"

Mechano frowned. "Not yet. Now that the egg's hatched, its no longer radiating the energy for us to track."

Forest then spoke up. "We've got the Klink and Klang investigating every route that river takes. We'll find them."

"Don't be absurd." Cecelia added while fixing her makeup. "Those guys were probably miles away from the river by the time they started their search. Looking around there would just be a waste of time."

"She's right. We need to be smart about this." Mechano hummed as he started typing, the screens now showing overhead images of buildings and cities. "These are the towns closest to the river, and each of them have some form of surveillance. After their little dip, they're bound to need to find new supplies."

"So we hack into the cameras and try to spot them," Forest commented with a tiny smirk, "Nice."

"We'll have the Klink and Klang head there as well," Mechano finished as more computers appeared, all showing different images.

"So what's the plan for when we find them?" Pyron asked as they began watching the screens. "Rush them again? They won't get away this time."

Mechano shook his head. "That won't be necessary. Once we locate them, we will remain at a safe distance and monitor them. After all, we're all going to the same place. Constantly chasing them may cause us to miss our deadline, so we'll hold back our move until the very last moment."

The three grinned at this, all understanding the genius of his plan. And as they did this, Mechano sat back in his throne with a low sigh. "You won't get away from me Sunset. I'll have what I want, just you wait and see."

The next morning...

In one of those towns, people were getting ready to celebrate the eclipse just like the other surrounding cities. They were preparing the festival, streets filled with people helping each other for the event.

Among these people, two cloaked figures slowly walking through the streets, both carrying supplies that they would need on their long journey. These two were Twilight and Doc, all trying their hardest to not be noticed or stand out as they made their way back to their friends. That is, till they got the Flash.

"Took you guys long enough," Flash called out when he spotted them. "What's with the get up?"

Twilight frowned as she threw three more cloaks at them. "I thought they might help us avoid being noticed."

Spike glared at her as he put it on. "You think no one's gonna notice a bunch of hood wearing teens with a Riolu, Terragon and a one of a kind legendary Pokémon?"

Doc let out a laugh as he pulled out another cloak and handed it to Springer. "That's why we got one for you too."

"Ri," Springer put the cloak on, pulling up the hood.

"Perfect." Twilight then turned to Peewee, "But you might have to go in your Pokeball."

"Terr!" Peewee cried before crawling off Spike's shoulder and into his cloak, latching onto his back and poking his head out from under the boy's armpit.

Twilight sighed at this. "Guess that'll work." The they then turned to Eclixie, who in turn gave them all a confused look. "Now, what to do about you?"

Sunset held up her bag. "Come on, in you go."

Eclixie's eyes went wide before it crossed its arms and shook its head three times. "E...clicks...E!"

Sunset frowned. "Come on, I'm not kidding around. Get in the bag Eclixie!"

"Ecli!" It shook its head again. And before Sunset could grab it, Eclixie flew up and blew a raspberry, "Eclixie!"

"Eclixie, this is serious! We can't have you being seen!" She held up the bag again, "Eclixie…I promise, it'll only be during the day. At night, you can fly around without a care in the world." She placed her hands together, "please."

Eclixie looked down at Sunset, seeing the serious worry in her eyes. Upon seeing that, the little pixie let out a sigh before flying down to her, "Eclixie."

"Thank you," she then opened her bag with a big smile, "I promise you, this is for the best.

"Eclixie..." was the only reply she got as she zipped the bag up and placed it on her back. She then put her cloak on, completing the illusion that she was just a hunchbacked traveler.

Flash turned to Twilight. "Alright....you get everything else?"

"Yup," Twilight showed him the bags she was holding. "Plenty of food and drinks for the next few days. I calculated it and everything."

"Nice."

"Alright," Doc held up a compass, "Eclixie told us the temple was to the west, so we need to head there."

"Right. Let's get going." The others nodded as Doc started to lead them out of town. They soon arrived at the western exit, only for Flash to stop them. "Get back," he commanded as he pushed them around a corner before glancing back at the exit.

"What's wrong?" Doc asked as he looked around the corner as well. Flash didn't reply, and instead pointed in the direction of a Klink that was floating near the gate. "That could be a problem."

Sunset sighed at the sight, she knew the cloaks might not be enough. It was here that she spotted a couple, both of which were loading up a truck with many heavy looking boxes. The man was blonde and had brown skin, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and green shorts. The woman had green hair, pink skin and was wearing a yellow summer dress.

"Everyone, follow me." Sunset whispered as she moved over to the truck. "Let us help you with that." She grabbed the box the woman was trying to lift, the two easily picking it up and placing it on the truck.

The woman smiled at her, "Thank you."

The others saw what she was trying to do and started helping, the man's face soon mirroring the woman. "Mighty kind of you. You heading west too?"

"Yes, we are," Flash replied.

"What about you?" Twilight continued.

"He's delivering these supplies to a village a day's ride from here. If you want, we could give you a ride."

"That would be great."

As they loaded the last box, the five teens and Riolu climbed up into the truck. And as the trunk began to drive thru the gate, the Klink watched the vehicle, only to just blink at the sight before floating away. The teens all sighed in relief as they drove away from the town, knowing they had barely managed to get out unnoticed. Now, their journey could truly begin.

Cue montage song.

Four days until the eclipse...

Not long after leaving the town, the truck found itself going off road. Inside the truck, our heroes found themselves bouncing around, the boxes mimicking them. One of the boxes then fell off a pile and broke open, sending Pokémon masks flying all over. Some of them landed on our heroes, making Twilight into a Clefairy, Doc as a Meowth, Spike as a Dratini, Sunset as a Charmander, and Flash as a Pikachu, which made Springer laugh until he could barely breathe.

A few hours later, the truck got stuck in some mud. The teens all then jumped out and started pushing, but the vehicle wouldn't budge. When the truck eventually came free, it shot out like a rocket, causing them to lose balance before flopping into the mud. And as they all pulled themselves out, the stared and started laughing at each other's states.

That night, Sunset and the couple they were with got to enjoy some of Doc's delicious cooking. Eclixie also got to try Pokémon food, eating so much that it ended up with a stomach that was three times its normal size.

Three days until the eclipse...

The truck had now arrived at a town situated next to a large lake. In order to keep going west, our heroes would need to cross that lake, which caused them to say goodbye to the couple before getting a boat. They soon sailed across the water, spotting several Water Pokémon inhabiting it.

Flash had an idea here and stripped down to his swim trunks immediately, causing Sunset to blush and cover her eyes. She was disturbed as Twilight told her that that was normal with Flash. Flash and Springer soon leapt into the water, Eclixie liking this before joining them. The others soon follow suit, with Sunset being the only one not wanting to go swimming. That is, till Eclixie declared it was having none of that, and pushed her in.

After a few hours of fun swimming, they returned to the boat and made their way to the western shore of the lake. That night, they camped on the river's edge, Sunset sitting on the sands with Eclixie while watching Flash show Spike how to skim stones. He demonstrated and managed to get it to hop along the water three times before Spike gave it a go, with his rock hopping almost ten times.

The look on Flash's face was priceless as the others all laughed. Sunset herself giggled as well, Eclixie clapping at the sight.

Two days until the eclipse...

The gang were now travelling through a dense forest. Eventually, they came across a gorge that was to big to circumvent, which made Flash get an idea. He climbed up a tree that overlooked the gorge before pulling a long piece of ivy free, soon hopping down and showing the others. He then let out a Tarzan yell as he swung across the gorge with Springer on his shoulders.

Landing on the far side, he turned and swung the vine back. One by one, the teens and their Pokémon swung across, until the only one left of the other side was Sunset. The girl stared down at the gorge, seeing how high up it was. Fear consumed her as she started backpedal, only for her ears to hear the others screaming words of encouragement to her. Eclixie then hopped onto her shoulder and nodded, causing her fear to go away.

Taking a massive gulp of air, Sunset ran and swung over the gorge, only for the vine to snap. And as she fell, her friends grabbed her hand, all of them pulling her up. Before she knew it, she was on solid ground again, but also on top of a large dog pile.

Everyone looked at one another at this before bursting out laughing.

One day until the eclipse...

Our heroes continued their trek through the forest, soon arriving atop a large hill. It was here that they spotted a mountain several miles away, which Eclixie stared at in wonder. Quickly coming to the same conclusion, they realized that the mountain was where the Eclipse Temple was hidden. Nodding to each other, they started climbing down the hill towards the mountain.

As they did this, the failed to notice the figure hiding in the leaves behind them. It was a Klink, which had a square box strapped to its body.

That evening...

The group had set up camp near the base of the mountain, knowing they would have to get up early tomorrow to get to the base of the temple. Flash was working on a fire while Doc and Twilight were busy preparing dinner. Spike was playing with the Pokémon and Sunset was simply sitting against a tree, looking up at one of the branches. Eclixie was sitting on this branch of the tree, staring at the mountain.

It was here that Spike spoke up, "So...any ideas on how we're gonna get up there?"

"I'm sure there's a path we can take," Twilight replied as she pulled out some bowls. "Don't forget that we're not the first people to enter it, so it must have a hidden route leading right up to the front door."

"I guess you've got a point."

Flash then got the fire started, the heat now filling the air, "Finally...you think Mechano is still looking for us?"

Doc shrugged at this. "We haven't seen any Klink or Klang, so its likely we've managed to evade him."

Sunset shook her head, "That might be true, but we won't be certain until the eclipse is over and Eclixie is on the other side of the portal."

They all nodded, knowing she was right. Soon enough, the food was ready and everyone sat down to enjoy their meal. And as they finished and the sun began to set, Eclixie changed into his night form before washing up to go to sleep. Eclixie had chosen to sleep beside Springer and Peewee, he and the Riolu laying side by side with the Terragon curled up around them.

An hour or so after that, Sunset was still awake. She rolled around in her sleeping bag, trying several different positions to go into slumber. But no matter what she did, the limitless lands of the dream world refused to allow her entry. Eventually, she let out a sigh and sat up, soon looking at the sleeping forms of her friends.

Sunset smiled at the phrase that had entered her head. "Friends..." She had never really had friends before now. The kids at the orphanage were never chummy with her, and socializing wasn't something she did when she traveled around. Even when she was still with Mechano, Forest, Pyron and Cecelia, that felt more like a working relationship than anything else. But during these last few days, she felt like she had forged a real connection with this group. They were loud, silly and at certain points...annoying, but also caring, understanding and had gone out of their way to help her when they didn't need too.

Deciding to see if a walk would make her tired enough to sleep, Sunset climbed out of her sleeping bag and began to walk around aimlessly. After about a half hour's hike, she soon came across a small lake that was being fed by a waterfall. The sounds of the rushing water filled her ears and relaxed her, allowing the red and yellowed haired girl to sit on a nearby log in pure calmness.

"Peaceful, isn't it?" Sunset's head spun around to see Twilight standing a bit away. "Sorry, I didn't mean to spook you. I woke up and saw you were gone, so I got worried."

Sunset shook her head at the bespectacled girl, "No problem. Its actually nice to hear that someone was worried about me."

Twilight smiled back before sitting on the log beside her. "You've really been alone a long time, haven't you?"

Sunset sighed and nodded. "I always thought that's how my life was supposed to be. Even after Mechano found me, I always felt he wanted the egg more than he wanted me."

Three years ago...

Mechano and Sunset were in his lab, standing at a window that showed the egg on a cushioned table.

"Now Sunset, do it like I showed you." Sunset nodded and started typing on the computer in front of her, which made several mechanical arms go up to the egg, scanning it with a series of lasers. A mere second later, the computer beeped as it showed the results. "Readings normal. Energy levels unchanged."

Mechano groaned as he looked through the window, his mechanical eye buzzing, "How much longer do we have to wait? We have the egg and its guardian, so why won't it hatch?"

Sunset tilted her head at this. "What does having me here have to do with the egg hatching?"

"The legends I've researched explain that the egg will only hatch while in the presence of the one chosen to be its guardian. That way, those wanting to use it's power for their own ends can't just steal it away."

"Oh," Sunset then thought for a moment before looking down. "So, you only wanted me because the egg will only hatch around me. If I hadn't been chosen as its guardian-"

"I wouldn't have even bothered with you," Mechano bluntly replied as he turned and saw the frown on her face. "But you were chosen Sunset." He placed a robotic hand on her shoulder, "That's what's important. As long as you're here, the egg will hatch into Eclixie, and we will be able to find the Eclipse Temple."

"So we can send Eclixie home?"

Mechano's face morphed into a fake smile, a nod following, "Of course. What else would we do it?"

The Present...

"I was just another piece of machinery to him," Sunset pulled up her knees and rested her chin on them. "Something to be used, abused, and tossed aside."

Twilight didn't know what to say. Her mind went through several scenarios, only for instincts to kick in as she put a hand on Sunset's shoulder, "Well...that's definitely not how we do it." A big smile appeared on her face as Sunset turned to her, "We....we're friends, and friends stick together, no matter what."

Sunset smiled back, tears filling her eyes. "Thank you." She then looked up at the moon, realizing it was only twelve hours away from blocking out the sun. "I wonder what I'll do when the eclipse is over and Eclixie is back home..."

"You could keep travelling with us. We'd love to have you."

"Thanks. I'll think about it."

"That's all I can ask," Twilight looked up at the moon as well. "Sunset?"

"Yeah?"

"What'll happen if Eclixie is still here when the eclipse passes?"

Sunset looked shocked at the question, wondering what had made her ask it. But as she thought about it, she knew that Twilight would be the one to ask, causing her to answer, "Eclixie...Eclixie isn't built to survive in this universe for any longer than it has too. If the eclipse passes and its still here, it'll become sick and grow weaker and weaker until..."

The two girls shivered at the next thought, Twilight grimacing as she then asked, "Why...why was it even sent here then?"

"I don't know. Maybe the eggs can't hatch in their home universe. Maybe its a test, a way for the newborns to prove themselves."

"I hope its the first reason."

Sunset sighed again. "Me too, but we'll never know for sure."

After that, the two sat there in silence, soon finding themselves finally growing tired before returning to camp. But as they fell asleep, they remained completely unaware that they were being watched. The Klink from before was still hiding, just outside the camp and in the bushes.

Mechano and his underlings watched the team sleep through the monitor, the other screens showing images of the mountain. "It has to be there." Mechano turned to the others. "Go ahead and see if you can find anything. If you do, stay hidden and be prepared for when they show."

The three nodded and turned to leave, allowing Mechano to look back at the screens. The image changed to the sleeping teens and their Pokémon, which then zoomed in on Eclixie. "Soon, you'll be mine."

The next morning...

Despite being the last ones to sleep, the girls were the first up, soon kicking the boys out of their sleeping bags. "Get up, up, up lazy bones," Twilight repeated as she continued to nudge Flash with her foot. The boy let out a moan as he rolled over to glared up at Twilight.

"Meanie."

"Just get up before I decide to pour cold water on you."

Sunset laughed at this as she picked Eclixie up, the little guy rubbing the sleep from his eyes while changing into his day form. Sunset then looked up at the sky and spotted where the moon was. "Best guess, the moon and sun are gonna overlap at noon."

"That gives us three hours to get to the Eclipse Temple," Doc added as he finished putting up their camping equipment. "Let's get going everyone."

Flash got out of his sleeping bag and threw on his jacket, "Alright."

"Ri."

They had a quick breakfast before making their way to the base of the mountain. It took them roughly an hour to get there, only to come to a halt as they themselves staring at a forty foot wall. "Oh great," Spike huffed as he nudged Flash, "How the heck are we gonna get up there?"

Flash scratched his head in confusion. "That's a good question."

Sunset was also stumped, only to glance at Eclixie, seeing the fairy freeze in place, "Eclixie? What's wrong?"

"Eclix…."

"You sense something?" Sunset's question went unanswered as Eclixie started flying around the side of the wall. "Hey, wait up Exclixie!" The group raced after it, running for about ten minutes until Eclixie came to a stop and stared at a part of the wall that seemed no different from the rest.

Spike turned to Twilight, "Why'd it stop here?"

Twilight and Doc both stared at the stone, only for two bulbs to go off. "A hidden entrance!" The others caught on and started tapping at the wall, trying to find anything that might lead to an entrance.

Flash eventually noticed a small indent in the wall, whose shape looked familiar. He turned to Eclixie and pointed at the hole, "Hey Eclixie, put your hand here."

Eclixie nodded and flew over before placing its hand in the slot.

Ker-click!

Following the sound, several sections of the wall cracked apart, all of them traveling up and down until they joined together to create an archway of stone. It then split in two, forming a door-like entrance. Everyone looked inside, seeing a dark tunnel within. Doc pulled out his Pokeball and unleashed Tockwork, "Tockwork, use Flash."

"Tock," Tockwork's clock face illuminated and filled the tunnel with light, revealing a stone staircase.

Flash walked in first, gesturing to everyone to follow, "No going back now." The rest nodded, all soon climbing the stairs inside. And as they started to make their way inside, a figure flew in behind them as the stone doors from before closed. As such, the group climbed for over an hour, taking several breaks along the way as the stairs spiralled upwards into the mountain. Eventually, the stairs stopped, allowing them to spot a speck of light that signalled only one thing: The end of the tunnel.

Picking up the pace, they got closer and closer until the light consumed them. "Wow..." they all gasped as the light dissipated, revealing a lush meadow, filled with trees along a path from the tunnel. "Incredible..."

Flash raised an eyebrow at this. "Does anyone remember seeing any trees on this mountain?"

"We could be on the other side of the mountain," Twilight suggested.

Sunset nodded at this. "Or maybe something was hidding this forest the same way the temple's hidden." Eclixie took this moment to fly up into the air, "Hmm...what are you doing Eclixie?" Eclixie didn't reply, instead floating away before the air around the Pokémon suddenly started to wobble. Everyone watched in amazement as the air began to warp around Eclixie, causing them to glance at each other in confusion as Sunset looked up at Eclixie. "Eclixie? What's wrong?"

Eclixie went through the wobbly air again, this time looking back and was amazed to see that the forest was gone. The mountain was also as bare as it had been the first time it saw it. It flew back, soon seeing the mountain and forest back to normal. The Pokémon then floated down to Sunset, trying to talk to its guardian.

"What's Eclixie trying to say Sunset?"

"Hmmm...I think its...Oh!" Sunset turned to Twilight, "There's something that's shielding what's really on the mountain from view."

"Interesting. No wonder no one's ever found this place." Twilight commented as she stared up at the floating Pokémon, "After all, it looks like a standard mountain to them."

Spike's eyes glowed at this. "That's so cool!"

Doc nodded in agreement. "Indeed, though I wonder what it is that's causing it to do that."

"No time to find out," Flash pointed up at the sky, all of them now seeing the moon and sun getting dangerously close together. "We've gotta get to the temple."

"Right!"

With that, they raced down the path and into the trees, all while a figure followed them. They continued on the path for twenty more minutes, only to pull themselves to another stop. Their eyes were wide as they came to a halt, all staring at a new sight.

It was a giant stone building which looked like it had been standing since the dawn of time, all made of many different kinds of stone. Cracks and plants covered the outside, and on the top of the doorway was a carving of the sun and moon symbols that they had seen on Eclixie's stomach.

"The Eclipse Temple..." Sunset whispered.

"Its amazing..." Twilight added.

They quickly make their way to the temple's steps and began to climb again, only to arrive at the top to find they were not alone. Standing in the doorway were a pair of almost identical Pokémon, both being four foot humanoid females wearing different coloured dresses.

The first was wearing an fire patterned dress and had white skin with orange hair that was done up in a regal style. It was also wearing a sun shaped pendent with a hole in the center. The other was wearing a dark blue dress and silver skin along with black hair in a similar style to the other's, though this one had twinkling sparkles in it. It was wearing a crescent moon shaped pendant with a hole in the center as well.

"Who are they?"

Twilight gasped in response, "Suncess and Primoon."

"Do you think they're the guardians of the temple?" Doc asked next.

Sunset nodded again. "Looks like it."

The two Pokémon looked up at Eclixie and bowed to it. They then turned and motioned them to follow, all soon moving into the temple. As they walked inside, the group looked up and saw that the temple's walls were filled with carvings of different legendary Pokémon. Zapdos, Entei, Latios and Heatran graced the walls as they kept walking, soon making their way to the very back of the temple. There, they spotted a pair of tablets sitting on either side of a large stone table.

The first tablet depicted a large horse like Pokémon with wings and a horn. It also had a long flowing mane and trail, with lines running down them to depict different colours. The second showed a Pokémon that looked like a mash up of many different creatures, including a lion, goat, snake and dragon.

Twilight went wide-eyed at the sight, gasping, "These are...."

"The legendary Pokémon of positive and negative energy," Sunset finished as she crossed her arms. "Alicormony and Dischaos."

They all stepped up to stare at the tablets, Flash speaking up. "They look so...strong."

"That's what makes them legendary." Doc added.

Spike then asked, "Wow. I wonder if we'll ever get to meet them one day?"

"Maybe," Twilight replied, humming.

Sunset shook her head at this, "but not today."

It was in that moment that they felt the light of the sun, which was filtering through a hole in the back wall. Everyone glanced at the hole and saw the sun start to go black, showing the moon moving into place.

The Eclipse was beginning.

Sunset let out a long sigh as she turned to Eclixie. "Well...this is it."

Eclixie gave a sad nod. "Eclixie..."

Sunset slowly grabbed the Pokémon and brought it into a hug, tears soon following, "I'm gonna miss you." Everyone else was also fighting back tears, having gotten close to the little fairy over the last few days.

Eclixie hugged her back as its own tears began to form. "Eclixie..."

Sunset sniffed before pulling out of the hug. "No matter what happens, I'll never forget you. And I hope you'll never forget about us." Eclixie nodded as it flew out of her grasp, then over to the others.

Flash rubbed his eyes on his jacket sleeve, "See you around buddy."

"Riolu!" Springer was mimicking his trainer.

Eclixie nodded and flew to Twilight and Spike, "it was an honor to meet you."

"Yeah, you're awesome!" Spike added, shining a huge grin.

Eclixie smiled before going to Doc, who held out a hand. "Until we meet again." Eclixie shook his hand and then flew over to the temple guardians.

Suncess and Primoon stood on either side of the table, pointing to it as if to say what it had to do. Eclixie nodded and flew onto the table, landing on it as the sun was completely enveloped. Everyone watched as Eclixie began to change, transforming into its gray halfway form. But unlike the other times, it remained, the black sun symbol now having the white crescent moon appear within it. They watched in wonder as the two symbols began to glow, both solar and luna energies flooding into Eclixie's body. The rest of its body began to pulse between glowing white and black, which grew brighter and brighter each time it did.

But then-

KA-ZAP!

Three bolts of electricity shot over their heads and struck Eclixie, forming a electrical cage that began to zap it. "ECLIXIE!"

Everyone gasped as they spun around, seeing Forest, Pyron and Cecelia on their Z.Z Flyers. The three were smiling at them while their vehicles fired the electrical beams that trapped Eclixie. "Fancy seeing you here."

"But...but how?!" Sunset gasped, slightly backpedaling at the sight.

"Simple. We've been tracking you." The three hit a button on their controls, causing Eclixie's cage to fly towards them.

"Hey! Let Eclixie go!"

"RIOLU!"

The three just laughed as they pulled their Z.Z Flyers away, heading towards the exit. "Dream on kid!"

They all ran after them, the three shooting out the door and into the sky. And when they got outside, they gasped as they stared at the sky, now seeing Mechano's airship floating into view. It was here that the flyers made their way to the ship, showing only one fact:

They had failed.

In the cockpit of his airship, Mechano watched as his underlings flew up to him. His smile doubled when he spotted Eclixie in their grasp, trying to escape it's electrified cage with zero success.

"Yes...yes! YES!" He started typing away, causing a spot on his keyboard to open up before a big red button appeared. "At last! After so many years, I can finally have my vengeance!" With that, he curled his robotic hand into a fist and slammed it down on the button.

"ECLIXIE!" Sunset screamed as she and the others charged after the three, not that it would do much good considering how high they were now. Before any of them could even think about coming up with a plan, a loud sound rang out, making them halt in place. They then turned their attention to the airship, only to see its balloon start to stretch out and mold in certain areas, as if something inside it was pushing outwards.

It was here that they all gasped as the mass of metal parts fell to the ground, unfolding into a humanoid form as its feet struck the ground and caused a small earthquake. The monstrosity then straightened itself up, showing its true form. It was a humanoid that stood at around fifty meters, its main body being triangular with two large mechanical legs attached to a pair of rectangular feet. Its arms were connected to the body by a pair of circular shoulders that looked like they were designed to be cages. At the end of the arms were a trio of mechanical claws, which opened up to show some barrel gun like palms. In the center of its triangular body was yet another cage like sphere, though this one was not as large as the other two. The top had no head or neck though, and instead showed the airship's cockpit, Mechano resting inside.

"What is that thing?" Spike asked in horror.

Flash grimaced at the sight, "Best bet? Trouble."

"We have to save Eclixie." Sunset said next, the group nodding as they stared up at Forest, Pyron and Cecelia. The trio had pulled to a stop when Mechano's machine appeared.

Doc pulled out his Pokeballs, "Let's get them now."

"RIGHT!" The others replied as Flash and Twilight pulled out their Pokeballs. The three tossed them into the air, unleashing seven Pokémon. Owlicious, Skyler, Riptide, Prongs, Viper, Higear and Tockwork hit the ground, Springer and Peewee also standing beside them.

Flash pointed at the flying trio above them, "Alright gang, we've got this. We're Eclixie's only hope. You ready?" The Pokémon all cheered as the teens nodded, "Then let's do this! Everyone, use Aura Sphere, Gust, Water Gun, Energy Ball and Flamethrower!"

"Confusion and Dragon Breath!"

"Gear Grind and Psywave!"

The nine Pokémon unleashed their long range attacks, including firing balls of energy, jets of water, and bursts of fire. These attacks flooded the sky as they shot up to the underlings, causing them to stare down at the incoming barrage.

"Look out!" Forest cried as he pulled his Z.Z Flyer away, causing the other two to follow him thanks to the cage connecting the three.

"That's it!" Pyron cut the power to his connection, forcing Forest and Cecelia to pick up the slack on the cage. "I'll handle these losers, you two finish the job!" The two nodded and continued to fly away as he pulled out his Pokeball. "Vipeacon, attack!" The final evolution of Hisscor appeared, hissing as it landed in front of the group.

The others stopped their attacks as it landed, only for Higear, Tockwork and Doc to stand before the serpent. "You guys go, I'll handle him." Doc commanded, causing them to nod and try to run around Vipeacon. As they did this, Vipeacon opened its mouth, only to be suddenly tackled by Higear.

"VIPE!" it yelped as it hopped back, hissing at Higear with a fiery glare.

"Flamethrower!" Vipeacon unleashed a wave of fire, which both Higear and Tockwork backpedaled to dodge. Doc was also forced to move away, the heat too intense to take. Both Pyron and Vipeacon smiled at the sight, "Alright, let's do that-"

"SCOR!" Another jet of fire struck Vipeacon, knocking its mouth back with ease.

Doc turned to the source of the attack, smiling when he saw Viper. "Thank you." Viper nodded back before glaring at their recovering opponent.

The others continued to chase Forest and Cecelia, the duo noticing the followers. Forest rolled his eyes before looking at Cecelia, "Deal with them. I'll get this thing to the boss." Cecelia nodded and cut the connection to the cage, soon spinning around in midair.

"Reptidal, attack!" she tossed her Pokeball into the air, Riptide's final evolution appearing in front of the group.

"Reptidal!"

Twilight turned to the others, "Go!" They nodded and once again moved around them as Owlicious landed on her shoulder. She also noticed that one of them had remained, looking down at Riptide. "You wanna help?"

"Aquana!" Riptide nodded.

Twilight pushed up her glasses with a smirk, "Alright! We'll do this together!"

"Don't underestimate me, you snots! Aqua Break!" Reptidal created a water katanna and charged at the three, causing them to hop back from the first attack.

"Confusion and Water Gun!" Owlicious fired a blue beam of light while Riptide spat out a jet of water, both hitting Reptidal back.

"Don't you dare fall back! Use Aqua Jet!" Reptidal's body was then consumed with water, the lizard kicking its body off the ground before shooting at the opponents like a missile.

Riptide and Owlicious weren't fast enough to dodge, causing both to be struck with water-powered charge. "GUYS!" Twilight cried as both Pokémon were smacked into the ground, her ears then hearing Cecelia laugh. Twilight then blinked at the two injured Pokémon, only to see them stagger back up. Seeing this, Twilight glared at Cecelia. "We're not done yet."

Cecelia let out another laugh. "We'll see."

Flash, Sunset, Spike and their Pokémon continued to chase after Forest, the underling getting dangerously close to the mech.

"Springer, Quick Attack!"

"RIOLU!" Springer's speed tripled as he shot at Forest like a bullet, noticing one of the trees had been knocked down in the shape of a ramp. "Rio...LU!" he exclaimed as he hopped off the timber, charging a Force Palm as he got close to the Z.Z Flyer.

The teen glanced back and went wide eyed, "NO!" he yelled as the Force Palm slammed into the machine. Before he could react, the Z.Z Flyer started to plummet. Seeing this, he jerked the controls, flinging the electric cage upward as the device began to crash. "SIR! CATCH!"

They gasped as they watched Eclixie soar through the air, a clicking sound following as the sphere in the mech's chest opened up and unleashed a bolt of lightning at the fairy Pokémon. The beam turned into a cage, trapping the creature again, only for a metal arm to suddenly appear, the mechanical claw soon clamping the Pokémon with a collar and shackles. "ECLIXIE!" it cried as the shackles started to tighten. "ECLIXIE! ECLIXIE!"

"Eclixie!" Sunset screamed at the sight while Forest's Z.Z Flyer crashed in front of them. Springer had jumped clear of the explosion, Flash now running up to his partner.

Forest had also managed to jump clear, landing with a stagger while looking up at his employer's success. In that moment, Mechano's voice was broadcast out of the machine as he laughed. "Finally, you're mine! AHAHAHA!!!"

"Mechano!" Sunset screeched, her hands turned to fists. "Let Eclixie go!"

"Never!" Mechano barked back as he slammed his fists into his controls. "I'll never hand over this battery! I've wasted so much time trying to get this thing, and I will use its power!"

"That Pokémon is no battery! She's a Pokémon with a heart and feelings! Let her go Mechano! Let her-"

"Oh be quiet Sunset! You should know by now that this thing is nothing but a tool for my future!" Mehcano interrupted as he pressed a button on his machine, "Now watch, as my destiny is fulfilled! Begin phase one!" Inside the sphere, the shackles holding Eclixie sparked, electicity zapping the fairy.

"ECLIXIE!" it screamed as the mark on Eclixie's stomach disappeared, the energy it had gotten from the eclipse now being sucked out. The robot then lifted its arms and pointed them to the sky as its gun barrel like palms began to glow.

Before anyone could say anything, beams of light shot out of the barrels and into the sky. There, they started to create a pair of portals, both slowly increasing in size as Mechano laughed at the sight, "Yes...its working! Phase one is complete, all energy levels are holding steady. Now, phase TWO!" He pulled a lever and the sphere like shoulders opened up before firing out bolts of lightning at the portals.

Our heroes gasped at this, soon seeing something come out of the portals. It was a pair of Pokémon, ones that looked exactly like the ones on the stone tablets. Both were struggling as they were dragged out of the portals, two electrical cages now surrounding their bodies.

"Alicormony..." Sunset whispered in horror. "And Dischaos!"

"CORRRRRR!" Alicormony neighed.

"CHAOS!" Dischaos did the same as the two tried to escape, only for the cages to spark, zapping both. As this happened, the metals arms quickly grabbed them and begin to drain their energy as well.

Mechano laughed once again. "AHAHAHA! Behold, my ultimate creation!" He looked at the screens and smiled at rising energy levels. "Now, watch my power!" The mech raised one of its arms and pointed it at a nearby mountain as the positive and negative energies combined in the barrel. Then, in that split second, a single energy bullet shot out and flew to the mountain. It only took another second for it to hit its target.

KABOOM!

The force of the impact not only shook that mountain, but also the one they were standing on. Everyone was knocked off their feet as they watched the mountain peak be disintegrated. Once the shaking stopped, they got their balance back before looking at the mountain, only to see that half of it was now gone. Mechano's laugh continued to filled the air.

"Now do you get it?! With these two legendary Pokémon as my batteries, no one will be able to stop me!"

"Yeah they will!" Flash said as he and his team jumped back to their feet. "We will stop you!"

The mech turned to look down at him. "Don't make me laugh. You are nothing but an ant to me now. As such, I will no longer lower myself to dealing with insignificant specks. Forest, deal with these insects. I have a destiny to acquire now."

"With pleasure!" Forest pulled out his Pokeball and tossed it in the air, releasing Stagrowth. Prong's final evolution scrapped its hoof along the ground as it prepared for battle.

Flash groaned at seeing yet another distraction, only for Spike and Peewee to step in front of him. "We'll handle this moron. You guys go save the legendaries." Flash gave him a look of concern, but saw the determination in his eyes and nodded.

"Alright. If that's the case, Prongs! Skyler! Help him out!" They nodded and got into a fighting stance, as he, Springer and Sunset continued running after the robot.

Forest laughed at this. "Seriously kid? You think you can take me? Don't make me laugh."

"Don't plan to," Spike replied as he pounded his fists. "I'm gonna make you cry. Let's go guys!"

"TERR/FEY/CHICK!"

Forest smirked before snapping his fingers, "You got spunk kid. Too bad you'll be beaten in just few seconds. Horn Leech!" Stagrowth charged at the four, all of them backpedaling from the attack.

"Ember, Gust and Tackle!" Peewee unleashed a barrage of fireballs, which Skyler's Gust increased in power as the wind blasted them forward. The third stage Pokémon stood firm as the fireballs hit it, causing it to stagger back while Prongs slammed into the deer.

"Don't get cocky kid! Energy Ball!" Stagrowth fired the green sphere at the three, an explosion following as it hit Spike and Prongs back while Peewee and Skyler flew out of the way. As the blow finished its hit, Spike rolled through the grass, soon stopping and staring up at his opponent. This was gonna be harder than he thought.

Flash, Springer and Sunset were still running, able to catch up thanks to its enormous size slowing it down.

"Look!" Flash pointed at one of its feet as it came crashing down close to them. The force almost knocked them off their feet, but they managed to hold steady as the other foot started to move. "Jump!" They leapt up, clinging onto the metal as it was lifted off the ground. Flash and Springer managed to get a good grasp, but Sunset's wasn't that strong.

As such, when the foot rose up, the force made her lose her grip, "AAAAAHHHHH!" She screamed, only to feel something grab her wrist.

"I gotcha!" They then felt the foot begin to lower, which made Flash pull her as hard as he could. She was swung above the trainer, all three now grabbing the foot before it crashed into the ground. The following giant step made all Flash and Springer suspend into the air, only to fall back onto the metal foot.

"You okay?" Flash asked as they tried to pick themselves up.

"Yeah," Sunset rubbed her head as she looked up, soon spotting what looked like a hatch on the foot. "I think I found something. Follow me!" she opened the hatch and wiggled inside, gesturing Flash to follow. The trainer and his Riolu soon followed, all three now inside the mech. "We have to hurry," Sunset began running down the metal corridor. "He's likely using Eclixie to keep the other two legendaries under control. We free it, we free them."

Flash nodded. "Then let's do this!" But as the three turned a corner, they were met with the sight of several Klink and Klang. "Dang it! Springer, Double Team!"

"RIOLU!" The Riolu charged at the Steel-Types, multiple versions of him appearing at the same time.

"Aura Sphere Barrage!" The Klink and Klang soon found themselves getting a small energy ball shoved into them, all of them falling with a thud, only for more to appear behind them. "Shoot. This could take a while."

"That's time we don't have," Sunset added.

Flash nodded again. "Then let's make a path. Let's go Springer!"

"RI!"

"Gyro Ball!" Higear spun its gear as it bum-rushed Vipeacon, the Pokémon now flexing its long serpentine body to dodge the attack. "Psywave!" Tockwork fired off a bullet of psychic energy, which flew at Vipeacon and hit it on the head.

"VIP!" The giant cobra rolled back as Viper slivered up to it and bit its tail. "VIP! VIP!" It turned to glare at its junior while curling its tail.

"Incinerate!" A blast of fire shot out of the tail's end, hitting Viper and forcing him to release Vipeacon.

"Viper!" Doc yelled out in concern, as Tockwork and Higear charged at their opponent.

"Flamethrower!" Vipeacon spun itself around, causing the flames it spit out while curling its body. Tockwork was struck by the flames, but Higear managed to spin out of the way. And as it dodged, Vipeacon stretched its body out, biting down on the gear Pokémon before wrapping its tail around the Pokémon. "Pyro Coil!"

Doc's eyes went wide at hearing that order. "Higear, get it off you!"

Higear tried, but Vipeacon's grip was too strong. All it could do was watch as the end of its tail curled up to its mouth, allowing the fire snake to bite down on the tube before breathing into it. The fire spit down its body exploded, covering the two in flames that had zero effect on the user.

"HIGEAR!" The gear Pokémon screamed as flames consumed him.

"HIGEAR!" Doc yelled as Viper and Tockwork gasped. The flames then died down as Vipeacon released Higear, the gear Pokémon crashing into the ground as swirls appeared in its eyes. "No!" Doc cried as he saw his Pokémon knocked out, causing him to return it to its Pokeball. "Sorry partner," he then looked up at Pyron, seeing a now sinister smile on his face. "This isn't over yet."

"We'll see about that."

"Peck!" Owlicious charged at Reptidal with its beak extended. The humanoid lizard used its katanna to defend, giving Riptide an opening. "Rock Smash!"

"AQUANA!" He thrusted his glowing fist into his evolved form's back, making it stagger as Owlicious passed its defenses and hit it with its beak.

"Rep!" Reptidal cried as it felt both sides in pain, but managed to stay upright.

"Whirlpool!" It nodded as its tail was encased it water before it spun around, the water spinning out into a vortex. Cecelia flew up as the water took a top like form that sucked both Owlicious and Riptide inside.

Twilight had to run to a safe distance while she looked back to see Owlicious spinning while trying to hold his breath. Luckily, Riptide managed to swim through the current and grab the Psychick before moving to the edge and shoving him out.

"Hoo!" Owlicious took flight and flew up to the eye of the maelstrom.

"Confusion and Pound!" Owlicious fired its psychic attack, which struck the water to reveal Reptidal, Riptide seeing this and smacking the Pokémon with its tail.

"REP!"

"Don't falter! Use Dragon Tail!" Reptidal's tail glowed green as it spun around again, this time connecting with Riptide with a mighty smack.

"Rep...TIDAL!" It added a little more oomph as it hit Riptide, knocking it into Owlicious.

"WANA!" Riptide spun through the air, Owlicious barely dodging the flying lizard before grabbing him in his talons. He then flew back down to Twilight.

"You alright Riptide?"

Riptide picked itself up and shook its body, getting back into a battle stance with a determined look in his eyes. "Aquana!"

Twilight nodded as she glared back to Cecelia and Reptidal. "We're not through yet."

"Steel Wing, Wing Attack!" Skyler and Peewee's wings shined as the rushed Stagrowth, slicing both sides as they flew past it. "Nice! Now, use Double Kick Prongs!" The deer nodded before turning and thrusting both legs into his evolved form's chest.

"Stag!" It yelped as it staggered back.

Forest snarled at seeing this, "We're not letting a little twerp beat us! Wild Charge!"

"Stagrowth!" The grass buck's entire body suddenly became engulfed by a veil of electricity, its antlers priming themselves as it charged at the trio.

"Get out of there!" Spike yelled, the three evading the stampeding thunderstorm with a quick side-hop. But Stagrowth's attack wasn't done, as it then spun on its heel before charging again. This time, Prongs was hit with full power while Skyler and Peewee were singed by the stray lightning that flew off their opponent.

Forest smiled at this as Stagrowth came to a stop next to its trainer. The lightning then vanished as the Pokémon started panting from the recoil of using the move. "Give it up kid. You can't beat me."

Spike glared at Forest. "No way," the Pokémon picked themselves up and got back into a battle stance. "We're not quitting."

"Terr/Fey/Ling!"

Forest sighed while shaking his head, "Fine. I'll just crush you right here and now!"

Flash, Springer and Sunset were continuing to make their way through the robot's internal systems, which wasn't made any easier by the constant attacks by Klink and Klang.

"Seriously?!" Flash grabbed and pulled down Sunset as a Klang flew over their heads as Springer knocked it down, "How many of these things does Mechano have?"

"Never really counted," Sunset replied as they stood back up. "Now come on, we're almost there."

They had managed to find a laddered passage, allowing them to climb up the legs and were now in the main body. It was here that they started to running around aimlessly, unable to find another way up. That and the constant barrage of Klink and Klang didn't speed things up.

"Force Palm!" Springer leapt at one of the Klang, thrusting his paw before knocking it into several Klink.

"Riolu!" Springer cheered as it landed, only to sigh as he saw more appear in the corridor.

"Aura Sphere!" Springer created a ball of aura and tossed it, smacking down another group. They then turned around, only to find a ladder. There, they made their way up the machine as their ears to hear familiar voice.

"ECLIXIE!"

"That's Eclixie," Sunset whimpered as she gripped on the ladder.

Flash nodded and pointed upward, "Its coming from up there. Let's go." They then got to the top of the ladder, only for Springer's aura to flare.

"Riolu!" He turned in the direction of another passage.

"You sensing something bud?" Flash's reply came in the form of a nod, Springer's eyes sharp and angry.

"It must be Mechano," Sunset told him.

Flash frowned at hearing this, humming to himself before glancing at Sunset. "Go free Eclixie. I'm going after Mechano."

"Why?"

"Even if we free the Pokémon, I doubt Mechano will stop. He needs to be taken down once and for all!" With that, he and Springer ran down the one corridor while Sunset went after Eclixie's location.

"Aaahhh!" Doc screamed as he and Tockwork were both sent flying.

Viper saw them hit the ground with a thud, only to turn and see Vipeacon glaring down at him. "Vip!" It opened its mouth and lunged, Viper barely managing to jump away.

"Scor," Viper landed before unleashing a Flamethrower. Vipeacon responded with its own Flamethrower, the two streams connecting and pushing each other back. However, Viper's power was no match and soon Vipeacon's flames overpowered his. "HISSCOR!" Viper was sent flying back from the fire, crashing into a tree at the same time.

"NO!" Doc yelled as he saw Viper slump over, only to then hear a load of laughter from Pyron. Growling, Doc glared at the teen, "Don't think you've won yet."

Pyron stopped laughing as he pointed at Doc, "Why not? I'm facing an opponent whose using Pokémon that stand no chance of beating mine. You're using Steel-Types and a weaker version of Vipeacon! They don't stand a chance against us."

"Con!" Vipeacon hissed.

Both Doc and Tockwork just stared at the trainer, "Type match-ups and stages of evolution don't determine a battle young man. That's just one of the things a friend of mine told me."

"Tock," Tockwork nodded.

Pyron shook his head before pointing at the two, "We'll see about that. Incinerate!"

"Vipeacon!" The fire snake spat out a fireball headed straight for Tockwork.

"Gear Grind!" Tockwork fired the gears off it's arms, the two projectiles deflecting the fireball with a colliding explosion. "Psywave!" The clock Pokémon raised its gun arms and fired a blast of psychic energy, sniping Vipeacon on the head.

"Don't you dare let him get the best of you!" Pyron yelled as Vipeacon shook its head to recover, "Flamethrower!"

The burst of flame exploded out of its mouth, causing Doc to run up to Tockwork, grabbing the mechanised Pokémon seconds before the fire struck it. "TOCK/AAAHHH!" Tockwork's entire body was super heated, burning Doc's hands as he tried to keep him from being sent flying away. Vipeacon continued to breath fire at the two, only for a fireball to hit the ground next to it, suddenly bursting into a tornado of flames. Vipeacon growled as it spun around, wiping out the fire with its tail as it glared at the culprit.

"Scor," the Hisscor panted as it landed after performing his Fire Spin.

"Little twerp," Pyron growled before turning back to Doc. Smoke was covering the two, Doc barely able to prevent Tockwork from falling over. Pyron just guffawed at the sight, "HA! You better give up, or yer gonna be a roast dinner for my Vipeacon!"

Doc did one final push on Tockwork, putting him back on his feet as he replied, "No way. We may lose, but at least we're delaying you. That'll make it all the easier for my friends to stop your psychopath of a boss."

"Tockwork!"

Pyron let out an unintelligent sound, "Fine them. Finish this!" Vipeacon took a deep breath before unleashing another Flamethrower, this one ready to burn Doc and Tockwork with ease. Knowing he couldn't escape, Doc closed his eyes and accepted the inevitable while whispering a silent apology to his friends. That is, till-

THOOM!

The sound of the earth shook them, causing Doc to open his eyes and see a volley of stone pillars be summoned from the ground in front of him. The flames struck the stone, only for no damage to be dealt.

"What?!" Doc heard Pyron scream.

"Stone Edge?" Doc gasped, blinking. His shock and confusion quickly vanished though, shaking his head before looking at his Pokémon. "Psywave my friend, with everything you have." Tockwork nodded before beginning to charge up the attack. And as the stones retracted into the ground, Doc called out. "NOW!"

"TOCK!" The blast of psychic energy blasted through the air, smashing into the still confused Vipeacon.

"SCOR!" Viper did the same, unleashing his own Flamethrower at his evolved form.

Vipeacon, still shocked from the last attack, was struck point blank. "VIP!" The fire snake was sent flying up, his trajectory leading him to crash into his trainer's Z.Z Flyer.

"Wait! NO! Don't-AUGH!" Pyron cried as he tried to pull his machine away, only to be flattened by the weight of his Pokémon. The two then crashed, the now unconscious Vipeacon pinning Pyron under the overturned machine. He struggled to lift Vipeacon, only to yell, "Get this thing off me!"

Doc smirked at the sight, "Yeah right. I don't believe I'll be helping a blackheart like you." He then looked around, trying to locate who it was who saved him before, only to find nothing. "Hmm...well, whoever you are, thank you." With that, he, Tockwork and Viper headed off in the direction his friends had gone.

Watching him from the shadows of the woods, one of the equine Pokémon stood.

Flash and Springer continued running through the corridor, surprised that they hadn't run into any Klink or Klang. It was here that they arrived outside a large metal door. Flash turned to Springer with a smirk, "Wanna knock?"

Springer nodded while creating an Aura Sphere. A second later, he blasted the metal barrier apart, revealing a dark room filled with screens.

"Well, well, well..." they turned their attention to the voice, watching as a chair spun around to reveal their opponent. "What can I do for you, my boy?"

Flash growled and pointed behind himself. "You can start by freeing Eclixie and the others right now. Your Klink and Klang aren't here to protect you."

Mechano chuckled at this, "You're right about that."

In that second, Springer's danger senses went into overdrive and his reflexes kicked in. "Ri!" He tackled Flash to the side, just in time as a ball of electrical energy flew down from the ceiling and exploded. He and Flash jumped back to their feet before looking up, grimacing at the new sight.

"Klinklang," the assortment of gears and other stuff said as it stopped in front of Mechano.

"Now, what was that about me not having protection?"

"Oh please. That's not gonna stop us." Flash growled as he pointed at the Klinklang, "Quick Attack!" Springer sprinted after the Pokémon, spinning in mid-air before bashing it with his tail.

"Klink!" It was pushed back, only to right itself a second later.

"Zap Cannon!" A ball of electricity appeared in front of the being, the sphere soon firing itself at the barely evading Riolu.

Both Flash and Mechano hissed as they watched their partners fight, the same thought leaving the two's mouths. "I won't lose to you!"

Like Flash was before, Sunset was running down another corridor until she came across a large metal door. Managing to open it, she stepped inside and found she was in the room with Eclixie's cage.

"Eclixie!" She cried as she saw her friend. The little pixie looked up saw her before letting out a moan. "Don't worry, I'm gonna get you out of there." Sunset then tried to get close to cage, only for a bolt of electricity to shock her back. "Augh!" she yelped as she was zapped. And as she tried to recover from the bolt, she saw what hit her. It was a barrier, one that surrounded the cage. "Oh no...now what do I do?"

"Sky Drop and Pound!" Owlicious grabbed Riptide and spun him in the air like a top before firing him at the Reptidal.

"AK...WANA!" Riptide spun like Owlicious had, slamming his tail into Reptidal's head. The force of his attack combined with the speed now tripled the amount of damage.

"Rep!" It staggered back, clutching its beaten head.

"Now, Confusion and Rock Smash!" Owlicious fired a psychic beam while Riptide leapt up, ready to sucker punch him.

"Whirlpool!" Cecelia ordered, Reptidal quickly spinning around to create a smaller whirlpool, one that knocked the two away.

"NO!" Twilight gasped as both fell in front of her.

"HA!" Cecelia guffawed, "Looks like its time to-"

"Gear Grind!" A pair of gears flew at Reptidal, both smacking him in the face.

"WHAT?!"

Twilight turned around and smiled as she saw Doc approaching with Tockwork and Viper by his side.

"Twilight, are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" Twilight then noticed his hands, "What happened to you?"

Doc put his hands in his pockets, "It doesn't matter right now." He turned to the enemy, "Right now, we've got bigger issues." Twilight nodded as she and the others did the same. "Psywave and Bite!"

"Confusion and Rock Smash!"

"Tock/Hoo/Scor/Aq!" The four unleashed their attacks, Tockwork and Owlicious firing their mental blasts while Viper and Riptide bum-rushed the Pokémon.

Reptidal saw this and created a water sword, quickly using it to deflect the Psychic-Type attacks. But as it did this, Viper bit down on his arm while Riptide punched him in the gut. "REP!"

Cecelia groaned at the sight of her partner be overpowered, "Get those things away from you!" The water lizard shook violently, but Viper remained clutched on while Riptide hopped back, evading the lizard's tantrum.

"Bullet Punch/Peck!" Tockwork and Owlicious unleashed their commanded moves, Riptide and Viper also repeating their previous actions. The four attacks struck at once, sending Reptidal back with swirls in his eyes. Cecelia gasped at seeing this, quickly trying to fly away until Tockwork fired a Gear Grind at her Z.Z Flyer. The attack struck, an explosion following as it knocked the girl off. Before she could do anything, she hit the ground with a thud, soon mirroring her Pokémon with swirled eyes.

The six all panted as they stared at their defeated opponent, only for Doc to tell them that they had to keep moving.

"Aura Sphere/Zap Cannon!" Two energy orbs clashed in the center of the room, an explosion soon following. The force of the blast caused everyone but Mechano, who was safe in his chair, to skid backwards several inches. Mechano laughed as he gave his next command, "Flash Cannon!" Klinklang fired a beam of light directly at Flash and Springer, the Riolu quickly pushing both of them out of the way.

"Thanks bud," Flash picked himself up and turned to Mechano. "Stop this now before it goes too far!"

"I will not. How is what I'm doing any different from how you capture Pokémon?!"

"Its a hundred times different!" Flash yelled as he pointed at the mad scientist. "Just because a Pokémon's captured doesn't mean its lost its free will. Even if its captured, it can still leave its Pokeball and run off. Besides, how is what you're doing any better?! Keeping them locked in those cages and using them like batteries?! That's pathetic!"

"Enough!" Mechano panted after yelling that, "I will not let some naïve child insult me! If you can't see my glorious vision, then I will remove you! Klinklang, Hyper Beam!" Klinklang let out a screech as it began building energy, which was aimed right at Flash and Springer.

Flash knew none of Springer's attacks would be able to match this one, making him freeze up. "Shoot. What do I-"

"FIRE!"

THOOM!

But before Klinklang could, this sound could be heard as the entire mech rocked to the side, causing the whole room to move. As it did, Klinklang's attack was unleashed, carving the wall behind Flash and Springer as they ducked for cover.

"What?!" Mechano looked at one of his screens, seeing malfunction written on multiple computers, "What is going on?!"

"Raugh!" Sunset screamed as she used a piece of broken metal to smash another piece of the room Eclixie was being held in. She then tore another piece off, tearing through several cables at the same time, the damage now causing errors to occur all over the robot.

She turned to Eclixie, sweating now pouring down her face, "Hold on. You'll be out soon." She continued to break whatever she could, all the while looking up at the sky. The sun was beginning to move away from the moon. "Gotta hurry....Can't let Eclixie get trapped here and die..." With that, she redoubled her efforts.

"Gust, Ember!" Peewee and Skyler unleashed their combo attack, Skyler's wind speeding up the fireballs that slammed into Stagrowth.

"Energy Ball!" Forest ordered, his Pokémon firing the sphere at them. But Prongs quickly reacted and fired is own Energy Ball, aiming it lower so it would knock Stagrowth's into the air. Before Stagrowth could react, Peewee and Skyler flew at him again, slamming him with their wings.

"Don't stop! We won't let this punk kid beat us!" Forest yelled as Stagrowth backpedaled, shaking the previous attacks off.

"Oh yeah?" Spike barked back.

"Oh yes. I'm gonna-"

BLAM!

"STAG!" yelped as it was suddenly hit in the chest with a stream of fire shot.

"What?!" Forest yelled as he and Spike turned to see Spike's friends running up to them.

"Nice one Viper," Twilight told him as the stepped up to Spike. "Glad to see you're okay."

"Same here," Spike replied before they all looked back at Forest.

The green haired teen glanced at the army he was facing, gulping as he turned to Stagrowth, seeing it's condition. "Grrrr...fine! Stagrowth, return!" he recalled his partner into his Pokeball before pointing at the group, "You may have won this time, but Mechano's not gonna go down that easily!" With that, the teen turned and ran off, soon vanishing out of sight.

"Coward!" Spike yelled. "Come back and fight!"

"No time for that Spike," Doc pushed him in the direction of the mech. "We have to help Flash and Sunset."

Twilight nodded in agreement, "And we need to do it quickly. If the eclipse ends, Eclixie's gonna be in big trouble." With that, they ran after the mech. They were tired, injured and had no plan of how to stop it. But as Doc told them that they only had ten minutes before the eclipse ended, they knew they had to hurry and win.

Twilight, Doc, Spike and their Pokémon continued their mad dash after the giant robot, though it was proving difficult considering how large it was. Soon it would reach bottom of the mountain, where they would no longer be able to follow. What was worse was that the eclipse was ending as a quarter of the sun was now uncovered.

"What do we do? How do we stop that thing?!" Spike asked as he hopped over a batch of rocks. "That thing's too fast!"

"I don't know," Doc replied as he scanned the mech over. "I doubt any attack we throw at it would be much use. And if it uses that laser...I don't know what we could do."

Twilight frowned at the sight, "Sunset...Flash...be careful."

"Aura Sphere!"

"Rio...LU!" Springer threw an energy ball at Klinklang, the orb exploding on contact.

"Klang!" It cried as it slammed into a wall of the robot while Springer landed dangerously close to a hole Klinklang's Hyper Beam had carved earlier.

Flash and Mechano watched this, the mad scientist growling, "Give up brat, you can't win!"

"That's what you think!" He pointed at Mechano, "Force Palm!" Springer ran to the scientist, paw ready to strike. But as he tried to land his attack, Klinklang flew between them, taking the full brunt of the palm.

"Zap Cannon!" Klinklang fired off its own energy sphere, blasting Springer into the stomach.

"RIOLU!" Springer cried as he went flying, Flash leaping and catching his partner as both were knocked back.

As they landed, Flash let out a moan as he helped Springer up, "Uggghh...you okay bud?"

"Ri..." Springer nodded as they both got up.

"You fools need to learn your place," Mechano grumbled as he touched the part of his metal mask where his ear would be. He then chuckled before pressing a button on his computer. It was here that a screen behind him flickered, soon revealing the image of Sunset.

Back in the room connected to Eclixie's cage, the bacon haired girl continued trying to wreck havoc on the machines. But no matter what she did, the barrier keeping her from Eclixie remained as it was.

"Ohhh...its no use!" She panted as she looked back at the cage, flinching as she saw her friend still yelling in pain. She then looked up and saw that half of the sun was now poking out from behind the moon. "No. What do I do?" Her question went unanswered as the door to the room broke open, followed by Klink and Klang flying in.

"Oh no," Sunset gasped as she tried to backpedal, only for a stream of electrical energy to shoot out of the Pokémon, the lightning forming into a cage around her. The next thing she knew, she was being lifted off the ground. "Magnet Rise..." She moaned as she struggled against the electromagnetic force, but there was no escape.

"NO!" Flash yelled as he saw Sunset struggle.

Mechano laughed, "Now you see?! No matter what you do, you can't stop me! I've come too far and risked to much to allow a load of children to stop me!" A beeping sound made him look back at his computer and press a button, causing the screen to once again change. Now it showed the image of a far off town, one that Flash recognised as the town they had passed through only a few days ago. "Perfect. My first target."

"No..." Flash whispered as the memories of what had happened to that mountain flashed in front of him. "YOU CAN'T!"

Mechano turned back to him, anger burning in his human eye. "Why can't I?! I have the power, so why shouldn't I use it to show the people of this world my might and genius?!" He started typing once again, the robot now aiming its arms at the town.

"NOOO!" Flash and Springer rushed him, only for Klinklang to appear between them again.

"HYPER BEAM!" The mechanism Pokémon fired it's super-powered death ray at the two, hitting the duo dead-on.

"AAAHHH/RIOLU!" The two were blasted off their feet, both slamming into a piece of the wall that had been previously damaged. The force alone caused the wall to break, flinging the duo out of the robot. With this, they fell down the back of the mech, sliding down several feet until Flash managed to grab a part of the metal monster.

"Augh!" Flash panted as he held on for dear life, his other arm grabbing Springer. "Oooohhhh...that hurt." he moaned as he looked down, now seeing the way down would sling him away from the machine. "That's...really high. Not doing that."

A humming sound then caught his attention, followed by the pained cries of Alicormony and Dischaos. This made him look up, now seeing that the machine was beginning to power up. "Oh no...the town! He's gonna-"

Kaboom!

The sound of an explosion pierced their ears, causing him to look down as see a familiar duo flying to them.

"Scor!" Viper, carried in Skyler's grip, was now flying up to Flash. The fire Pokémon then launched another flamethrower at the mech, causing a small metal hole of damage.

"Yes! Go Viper and Skyler! Way to-"

Kaboom!

Another explosion made them turn to see Prongs and Peewee, doing the same as the others by firing Energy Balls and Dragon Breaths. "Aquana!" Flash then saw Riptide and Owlicious fly by, the Psychick using Sky Drop to toss the Aquana as he used Rock Smash. The force of the combined attacks made a large dent in the contraption while Owlicious caught Riptide once again.

"Alright!" Flash and Springer cheered, "You guys are awesome!"

Mechano growled as he watched his ultimate weapon be more and more damaged, "You little brats!" He pressed a button, the robot's arms now swinging around to try and swat the three away groups away. "Get lost!"

Back on the ground, Twilight, Doc, Spike and Tockwork watched in worry. Doc was using his binoculars to spot Flash and Springer, whose location he quickly regretted giving out.

"What?!" Twilight screeched as she grabbed the binoculars, her breath becoming ragged as she saw Flash. "What is that idiot doing?!"

"And where's Sunset?" Spike added.

"Augh!" Sunset moaned after failing to escape the electro-cage again. She then saw Eclixie still getting absorbed, its face now one of absolute exhaustion. "No...Eclixie!"

The humming sound increased at this, Eclixie's pained yells increasing at the same time. The sound now making the girl cover her ears. Tears filled her eyes as she cried out, "Eclixie!"

"Eclixie?!" The little pixie screamed as she turned its head to Sunset.

"Eclixie...please, you're stronger than this machine. You have to fight it. If you don't, then Mechano is gonna keep using you like a weapon. You...you have to stop him!" She stopped speaking when the Klink and Klang intensified the electricity, shocking the girl as she started to scream.

"Eclixie!" The mythical Pokémon cried as it watched as its protector was hurt, the pain it had been feeling before all but forgotten as it stared at the sight. But those eyes turned to anger, fire burning in them before closing them, Eclixie using all its focus to retake control of its power. "E...clicks...E!"

A beeping sound went off in Mechano's room, causing him to turn to his computers, only for his jaw to drop. "What?! What is....why is the power dropping?!" He started typing, but to no effect. "WHAT?! What's going on?!"

At the same time, the group outside watched as the light that had been shining out of the gun arms suddenly disappeared. They all glanced at one another in confusion. "What happened?"

Twilight scratched her head. "I'm...not sure Spike."

"Possibly some kind of malfunction," Doc suggested.

"But how long is it gonna last?" Spike asked next.

Sunset watched as Eclixie reabsorbed its energy, only to let out another groan of pain. Seeing this, Sunset grimaced as she said, "Eclixie, you have to get rid of that energy. If you don't, Mechano's just gonna take it again."

Eclixie nodded, but didn't know how. It was then that it heard yelling coming from above, the yell originating from a voice the two knew all to well. "Eclixie!" It cheered, now realising what it needed to do.

As the robot lost power, it began to sway from side to side. This made it hard for Flash to hold on, the wind now blasting the trainer while Springer clung to him. "Urgh...this isn't good bud." Flash commented as he felt his fingers start to lose their grip. "We gotta...huh?"

Flash and Springer blinked as a sudden warmness overtook them. Springer felt the energy he had depleted in the battle against Klinklang was being restored, power now coursing through him. It was here that he saw that his body was now glowing as well. "Ri..."

The glow made Flash blink again, looking down and seeing Springer's injuries disappear. "Whoa..." The light of the glow then touched his skin, Flash recognising it instantly. "Eclixie..." It was here that he saw the curved area below him, making him gulp. "Springer," the Riolu looked up at him, "Get ready to use an attack on my signal." Before Springer could ask, Flash released his grip on the robot and the two began to slide down the metal surface.

"Ri?" Springer gasped as he then saw the curve coming up, now realising what the plan was. "RIOLU!"

"Don't worry about me," Flash commanded as they hit the curve, knocking them up into the air. He then took Springer into his hands, pulling every bit of his strength as he threw Riolu up. "Springer, GO!"

Springer shot up, now seeing Eclixie's cage above him. He then directed all the power he had been given by Eclixie into his paws, an Aura Sphere appearing between them. It soon grew, starting to grow even larger than any Aura Sphere he had ever made. Flash's eyes went wide as he saw the ball, Twilight, Doc and Spike all gasping at the sight as well. Sunset also saw the oncoming attack and smiled before bracing herself.

Inside his cockpit, Mechano was still trying to get the power back when another alarm went off. "What now?!" He pressed a button, switched a screen to show Springer. "What the heck?!"

On the screen, Springer was flying right at the camera. Above his head was an Aura Sphere so large, its size rivalled the cage holding Eclixie.

"No....No! NOOOO!"

As Springer fell into range, he gripped the Aura Sphere before slinging it into the cage. "RIO...LU!" And with that, the spinning ball of aura crashed into the barrier, destroying it in an instant. Sunset watched as the metal bars gave into the pressure, all of them ripping apart as the shackles fell apart. The shock instantly let Eclixie escape the contraption, the pixie then fleeing to safe distance before its exhaustion made it fall to the floor.

The Klink and Klang had become terrified by the attack and released Sunset before fleeing the room, allowing her to run over to Eclixie. Soon holding it in her arms, she smiled down at the tired little pixie. "You...you saved us all with that. You were great."

Eclixie looked up at Sunset and smile, "Eee..."

Outside, Flash saw the cage's destruction and cheered in joy. That is, till he remembered he was falling at break neck speed. A loud scream followed as Twilight and the others saw the falling trainer, "FLASH!" Twilight cried as they tried to increase their speed to catch.

But as they saw they were too far away, something suddenly leapt out of the nearby treeline. It was like a blur as he caught Flash, his savior soon landing. Flash let out a gasp as he felt himself land. He then opened his eyes, though the wind forced him to keep them squinted, and all he saw was a combination of white and sky blue.

"What the-" he tried to say, only for the figure to vanish, his butt slamming the ground the second later. "OW!" He yelped before rubbing his behind. "What was that?!"

"Flash!" He turned to see Twilight and the others approaching, "Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine." he groaned as he started to get up, only for a loud breaking noise to fill the air. This caused them to look up at the robot, only to see Eclixie now free. With this in mind, the power to subdue the two legendary Pokémon was also gone, allowing Alicormony and Dischaos to easily rip off their shackles and break the metal cages before flying out of the machine. They all smiled at seeing this, but those smiles quickly vanished once the legendaries turned back to the robot with anger in their eyes.

"They do not look happy," Spike gulped.

Doc let out a weak chuckle, "Would you be if you'd been captured and used as a generator?" They continued to watch as the two began to build up power, Alicormony's horn now glowing while Dischaos opened its mouth as dark energy pooled into it.

"Wait...STOP!" Flash yelled as he ran at the machine, "Our friends are in there!" But it didn't matter to the two, the duo now firing a Dazzling Gleam and Dark Pulse at the mech.

KABOOM!!!

"NOOOO!" They screamed as the attacks struck the robot, a massive explosion following.

"AAAHHH!" Sunset held Eclixie tight as the room shook, pieces of the walls exploding around them. A sound from above made her look up in time to see a large hunk of metal falling, making her scream and clutch Eclixie to her chest. It seemed that this was the end for them.

"RIOLU!"

KLANG!

Sunset opened her eyes at the cry, gasping as she saw a particular Riolu using Force Palm to knock the debris away. "Springer!" She yelped as he landed next to her, smiling with a thumbs up. A small smile tried to form on her face, Sunset now seeing the room fall apart, including the floor below them. "Thanks....but we're still trapped."

It was in this moment that Eclixie opened its eyes, the loud clanging sounds of falling metal waking it up. It looked up to see Sunset's terrified face, making it's heart begin to hurt. It then closed its eyes and began to focus with all its might, trying as best it could to block out the sounds of metal breaking and Sunset screaming.

And it was in that moment that the entire robot's structure finally gave out, the metal room now collapsing in on itself.

CRASH!!!!!

Flash and the others all stood petrified as they watched the robot crumble into scrap, all knowing that Springer, Sunset and Eclixie were still trapped inside. Twilight brought her hands up to cover her mouth, Spike and Doc simply stood where they were and Flash fell to his knees. The Pokémon also showed despair as they began to let out their cries at the loss of their friends.

"This...can't be happening." Flash mumbled.

"Sunset..." Twilight whispered as tears filled her eyes.

"Did someone say my name?"

The humans and their Pokémon's heads all shot up before they spun around, gasping as they saw Sunset walk up to them with Eclixie and Springer.

"Sunset?" Twilight gasped.

"Springer!" Flash cheered as he jumped back to his feet, his partner running up and hopping into the teen's arms. "You're okay!"

"But...but how?!" Doc asked as the others moved over to them.

Sunset just shook her head, "I don't know. One moment we were trapped inside the robot, then the next thing we knew, we were out here."

Eclixie smiled up at her, sweating after using the last of its energy to teleport them to safety.

Spike then spoke up, "Hey uh...if you guys escaped. What happened to Mechano?"

Everyone frowned at the question, all of them turning back to the pile of broken metal. Several blinks followed as Flash mumbled out to Sunset, "Um...could he have survived that?"

"I...don't know."

Mechano let out a long moan, rubbing his head as he opened his eye and saw he was in the forest. "How did I get here? I know I was trying to get control back for my mech, and....my computer exploded. So how did I-"

He was then interrupted as a twig behind him snapped. He turned to the sound, only to see a horned equine figure standing a ways off, their features hidden by the tree's shadow. "Oh, I see. You teleported me out." Mechano picked himself up before attempting to walk up to the Pokémon, only to feel himself walk into something solid, yet unseen. Touching the air, he felt something and began to feel around. Doing so made him realize he was trapped inside an invisible box. "Oh no..."

Memories of several days ago flashed before him, making him realize what was happening as he turned back to the Pokémon. Said Pokémon was now accompanied by two others, all who were glaring at the mad scientist.

"I guess we'll never know," Doc added.

"Eh, I'm just glad this is all over," Flash finished.

It looked like everything was going their way, that is till Eclixie suddenly began to change into his day form. "What?!" Sunset gasped as she looked up at the sky, now seeing the sun and moon were no longer touching. "No...the eclipse! Its over!"

"Maybe its not too late! Maybe Eclixie has just enough power to open a portal." Spike quickly suggested as they turned to the fairy, who only to see a frown while shaking its head.

"No...no!" Sunset fell to her knees and hugged Eclixie tightly, "I'm sorry Eclixie. I'm so so sorry! I was supposed to keep you safe, but I couldn't help you when it mattered. Now...now you're trapped and you're...you're going to...no!" Tears filled her eyes as the others watched in misery as she started crying. No one said anything, words seeming to be pointless at this moment.

It was only here that they found themselves in a giant shadow, making them look up and see Alicormony and Dischaos staring down at them. They the saw that the one they were focusing on was Eclixie.

"What are they doing?" Flash asked.

Twilight shook her head. "I don't know. Maybe...maybe they want to help."

Spike tilted his head at the sight, "How? Unless one of them has the power to move the sun, I don't think they can."

Sunset looked up at the two legendaries, an idea popping into her head as she got up and held Eclixie out, "PLEASE HELP US! Please...you two have the power to open portals to your worlds. Maybe...maybe if you give Eclixie a bit of yours, it can open a way home. Please..."

Alicormony and Dischaos both shared a glance, as if having a mental conversation with each other, until finally turning back and nodding. Sunset shined a huge teary grin before bowing, "Thank you! Thank you so much!"

They watched as the Pokémon of positive and negative energy flew into the air while beginning to glow, Eclixie following suit as she flew out of Sunset's grasp. The little fairy floated between the legendaries as their energy finally reached its peak. The duo's horns began to glow before unleashing a gold and black bolts of energy, both striking Eclixie as it charged its body. Specks of their power flew off and began to fall to the ground like snow, landing on the heroes as well.

The humans and Pokémon all felt their bodies begin to radiate heat, making them look down and see the injuries they had received slowly fade away. Doc's hands became un-burnt, the battle damage done to their clothes now disappearing as well. They looked back up in amazement, only to now see Eclixie change color as it entered its gray form while the sun and moon symbols appeared on its stomach. Alicormony and Dischaos then stopped the power transfer while Eclixie's body pulsed black and white.

The three looked up next, the trio now unleashing new beams of gold, black or a mixture of the two that hit the sky. The beams began to make a tear in the air, three gateways to other dimensions soon appearing. Alicormony and Dischaos flew to the two outer ones and passed through them, the portals quickly vanishing and leaving the central one alone. Eclixie turned back to the group, a sad look on its face. Sunset saw this, the tears she had before returning.

Flash stepped up to stand beside Sunset. "Well, I guess you'd better get going Eclixie."

Twilight waved at the fairy, "You be careful, alright? Who knows what's on the other side of that portal, so don't go doing anything stupid!"

Doc and Spike walked up next, Doc saying, "Not only that, maybe one day you can find a way to come back to this world."

"Yeah!" Spike nodded as he tried to keep the tears back. "And when you do, come visit us okay?!"

"Eclix!" Eclixie nodded before turning back to Sunset. The girl was looking down at the ground, trying to hide her sorrowful face. "Eclixie…" It flew up to her and gave her one final hug, stroking her hair as well.

"I know you need to go, but I can't help but miss you already." Sunset's eyes were still pointed to the ground, "Ever since your egg came to me, I felt like I finally had a purpose. You made me feel...special. When you're gone, I won't feel that way anymore. I'll just be...useless." She hugged herself as she cried louder, Eclixie pulling away from her.

"Sunset." The girl gasped at the voice in her head, making her look up to stare at Eclixie as it smiled at her. "Me coming to you didn't make you special. It was because you were special that I came to you. When I'm gone, you'll still be the special girl that was chosen to look after me. Never forget that."

Sunset once again started crying, the reassurance washing over her and filling her heart with joy. "Oh Eclixie!" She grabbed the little fairy and pulled it into one final earth shattering hug. They stayed like this for several seconds, only to feel Eclixie pull away. Sunset rubbed her eyes, whimpering out, "Well, I guess you better get going."

Eclixie nodded before flying back up to the portal, the others all beginning to wave and cheer out their goodbyes. The eclipse Pokémon glanced back at them, tears filling its own eyes as it started to say goodbye. And with one final wave, it flew backwards into the portal. "ECLIXIE!" Were its last words before phasing through the portal.

Seconds after Eclixie passed through it, the portal quickly shrank until it was nothing more than a speck. That single speck then suddenly exploded, the energy pulse filling the sky like a firework that signaled Eclixie's exit of this world. Our heroes continued to stare at the spot Eclixie had vanished, as if expecting something to happen. Sunset sniffed back her tears as she smiled, happy she had managed to finally fulfil her role as Eclixie's guardian. Though she knew she would likely never see it again, she could rest easily knowing her friend was now safe. "Eclixie...thank you and goodbye."

Several days later...

The whistle of the train filled the air, signaling the steam engines readiness to depart from the station. Standing in front of one of its carts, Sunset stared back at her new friends. After Eclixie had left, the group had retraced their steps and were now back in the town they had all first met in.

"Well...this is it. It was great to meet you all."

Twilight gave Sunset a glum frown, "Are you sure we can't convince you to come with us?"

Sunset sighed, but nodded. "Yes. I think I need to be on my own for a bit before deciding what I need to do next with my life."

Doc chuckled at this, nodding. "If that's what you think is for the best, then we won't stop you."

"We are gonna miss you though," Spike added.

"Terra."

Sunset laughed before bending down, ruffling the boy's head and scratching Peewee under the chin. "I'm gonna miss you guys too. Try and stay out of trouble, alright squirt?" Spike nodded as Peewee licked her, causing her to laugh as she turned to Doc. The two held out their hands and shook, smiling at one another.

"Until we meet again."

"You know it," Sunset added before turning to Twilight, the two girls then hugging each other tightly. "Thank you...for everything."

"I hardly did anything," Twilight said as she pulled away. "Just stay safe out there, alright?"

"I will."

Twilight nodded as an idea popped into her head. "You know, if you're ever in Canterlot City, I'm sure Professor Celestia would love to meet you. Tell her I sent you, and she'll love to talk about everything that happened."

"Thanks. I just might do that." She then turned to Flash and Springer, the three smiling at each other. "Well boys, you keep doing what you're doing. I know you'll become Pokémon masters one day."

"Thanks," Flash said as he scratched the back of his head. Springer simply gave the girl a thumbs up as she patted him on the head.

"Thank you Springer. Especially for what you did back then."

"Ri..." Springer cheered.

A second whistle signaled the train was about to leave. "Well, I'd better get going." She grabbed her bag and moved up to the train carriage, only to come to a halt. "Oh right, forgot about that." she turned back around and went up to Flash. As they all blinked at this, she got on her tip toes and pulled Flash towards her, pushing her lips into Flash's. It only lasted a second before she pulled away, laughing as she saw the shocked looks on everyone's faces. "See ya!" She back onto the train, jumping into the carriage seconds before the locomotive pulled away.

Everyone was still dumbfounded as she stuck her head out the window, waving at her new friends. They quickly recovered and began to wave back, saying their goodbyes as they watched the train pull away and disappear into the horizon.

Once the train was out of sight, everyone turned to Flash and saw he still had a huge blush on his face. "Oh, get over yourself romeo," Twilight grumbled as she slapped the side of his head, knocking him back into reality. "Don't forget, you still gotta do my chores. And after everything they went through, I think our Pokémon all deserve a half-hour wash...each."

Flash turned to give her a horrified look, "Half an hour each?!"

Twilight laughed at this. "And don't think I won't be inspecting them all. They'd better be spotless when you're done." She laughed again as Flash started to moan, the others following suit.

Yes, this had certainly been one heck of an adventure. But now it was time to get back on the road, as new adventures awaited our young heroes on their journey through the magical world...of Pokémon.
