> A Strange Thought > by CraazyAutumn > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Canterlot > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight, woken up from her sleep, heard a knocking on her doors. She was probably waken by the sound of knocking on her doors. "...Yes?" She answered. "Oh, you're awake! Can I come in?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, come in," Starlight replied. "Sorry for waking you early, but I just had to tell you!" Twilight jumped. "Tell me what?" Starlight was curious. "We're going to Canterlot today!" Twilight excitedly said. "...This early? And why anyways? Did princess Celestia invite you?" She asked. "Yeah! I don't know the reason to it though, but I'm so excited!" Twilight was thrilled. "Well... Okay. Am I going or something?" She asked once more. "Well, yeah! I'd probably not wake you if it was only me. Wait, I would, but... Yeah!" Twilight said. "Oh, we should be getting ready! Gotta go pack!" She said before leaving the room. Starlight just packed and went back to sleep again. *** The train had arrived at Canterlot. The two mares and other visitors had walked out of the train. "Alright, we're here at Canterlot. So do we go to the castle now?" Starlight asked. "Yep!" Twilight answered. As they walked through the city, Starlight got a strange feeling. The ponies were quite silent and some of them staring at them. "Uhm... Twilight?" Starlight silently called her. "Yeah?" Twilight replied. "Have you got a strange feeling of... Being watched?" "Not much to me. I usually get stared at," Twilight said. "Well yeah, but you're a princess. And... I don't think it's because of that...," Starlight said, confusingly looking at others. "It's probably nothing," Twilight told her. "I doubt it," Starlight said. As they arrived at the castle, they walked up seeing more guards than usual. When the guards seen them, they immediately surrounded them. "Uh... What's going on?" Starlight asked, spinning around. "They probably don't recognize you. We'll pass through anyways," Twilight replied. "Release!" Celestia had told the guards. "Hello princess!" Twilight greeted. "Greetings, Twilight. Well, we've got something to discuss," Celestia said. "Come in." "This doesn't feel good...," Starlight whispered. "Come on, it'll be completely fine! Nothing to be worried about." *** The three mares entered the throne room, Starlight being a little confused. "I am glad to see you all okay...," Celestia said with worry. "What do you mean?" Twilight asked. Celestia walked up to her throne. She let out a heavy sigh before speaking to the two mares, who have been quite confused. "If you may had not heard... My sister... Had disappeared," Celestia said. "What!?" they looked at the princess with worry. There was silence for a few moments, until Twilight began to speak. "Luna... Gone... What?!" "How could she had disappeared?" Starlight asked more calmly. "I'm not sure. Last thing I remember that she was in my dream, and then she just... Suddenly disappeared," Celestia looked out the window, when guards entered the throne room, taking the two mares to a room for each of them. Twilight tried to teleport away, but her magic couldn't work. She looked at Celestia with confusion. "Princess! Why can't our magic work?!" "I am unsure. But for now... You should get some sleep," Celestia answered and sat back to her throne. "I knew something was wrong... And it's my task to figure it out." Starlight thought. > Disappearance > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The two mares were sent to one room for each of them. Starlight laid on her bed, trying to think of a reason of this mess. She got ideas, but if she needed to find this out, she has to explore. As thoughts came to her mind, she thought: "No... Nah... Nope... No!" She rolled around her bed, finally deciding to find more information. She was about to teleport, but she remembered she couldn't use magic. She reached the door looking through the keyhole, where she seen the guards standing next to the doors of her chamber. "There just had to be guards... but of course, this is a castle," She thought to herself. She looked at the window, seeing that the sun is still up, and its almost midnight! She decided to attempt to teleport out of here. Her horn started glowing, and she did teleport... Somewhere where she wasn't supposed to be. She was in an odd room, with no windows, having grey walls with spider webs around corners. There was a table with books on it. Only a few books though. "W-where am I?" she thought to herself. She heard footsteps. She couldn't know where were they coming from. There was no doors anyways. She hid behind the table looking at the pony that was entering. To her suprise, she didn't saw anypony else- but herself. > Questions > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight watched as the mare entered the room. It was.. Her! She let out a small gasp, the one even a spider cannot hear. Wait, spider? The second Starlight~or rather the fake Starlight grinned as she put away a book on the table, bringing a chair to sit on. Starlight tried to not move, but she couldn't help it. She just couldn't. She twiched her leg, and the second Starlight looked around to see where did the noise come from. Starlight's horn began to glow, attempting to teleport back to where she had been. But it was too late. Her magic teleported her behind the other her, walking away, but hitting the wall. The second Starlight looked at the intruder and asked: "Who are you?" Starlight looked at the face of the mare she seen as herself. "My name is Starlight Glimmer. And who are you?" She asked. "Nopony you should care about," The second Starlight replied. "Tell me," she asked. "No." "Tell me." "No." "Tell me," Starlight asked once more. "Well, you." "No, you're not. You cannot be me," Starlight replied. The horn from the second Starlight began to glow. She walked up to Starlight, who looked at her in fear. I wont be telling. If you ask me once more...," She pointed her horn on Starlight. "You won't know who you are," she continued. "Well then, where am I? Can you at least tell me that?" Starlight asked. "No. You won't be telling anyone you've met me, and you'll know my name." Starlight hesitated. Although, she answered with a: "Yes." "Good." The horn from second Starlight glown with bright light, making Starlight to cover her eyes with her hooves. All of a sudden, she was in her bed. She watched as the sun was still up. She decided to walk out of her room and start to ask questions. She trotted down the stairs that led to her room, looking both left and right. She saw nopony. "No guards? Now it's really getting serious," She thought to herself. She wanted to ask someone to find Twilight's room and speak to her, but there was no chance of seeing anypony, she knew so. She went to the throne room, going off to see the princess. Yet, all she saw was the same as previously. Nopony.
