“Your oceans are absolutely stunning...”
*Camera beep*
“Hey Everypony! This is Nathan. Welcome back to another vlog!”
I say out loud on the empty train, to no one in particular. I am riding the friendship express to somewhere I have never been to before. I’ve been an ally of the ponies for quite some time now, and I’m beginning to explore Equestria. I even started recording videos with my pony friends, because thank god the internet finally calmed down about me visiting the pony world.
And so far, it’s been great- Everyone was very supportive about my new idea.
Now, back to the story...
“So, today! We are going to the most awesome place in all of the pony world! At least in my opinion!” I proclaim. “As you can see by the view outside, which is practically just endless amounts of ocean...”
I faced the camera to the window.
“We are going to be visiting the land of the seaponies, Mount Aris! And by we, I mean me and my lovely best friend Twilight Sparkle~”
I turn the camera to show her sitting to my right, as I put an arm around her.
“Hey Everypony~”
“I’m actually really really excited about this trip because I absolutely love the hippogriff tribe and seaponies when I watched the show. This is the first time I’ll be going there so it’s going to be awesoooooooome. And also, my fellow hippogriff friend will be there to meet us and we’re going to explore the ocean and turn into seaponies ourselves!”
“Say, Nathan, do you like swimming underwater?”
I turn to her. “Oh yeah, that’s what I was going to mention, thanks Twi! So, as a human, I’ve never experienced swimming underwater to my heart’s content when it came to the deep sea. With a little help, we’re going try that today!”
“Sounds fun! Let’s do it!”
We finally arrive at Mount Aris after a while of traveling. It is pretty far, after all. Once off the train, since Twilight has been here before, she knew exactly where to go to find Silverstream. She had to be on land as a hippogriff, so she must’ve been in the main town.
I follow her happily into the town.
It seems as if even they knew about me- As I walk on the Main Street, some of the hippogriffs recognized me and gasp in awe. I am Equestria’s only human, not to brag. I wave back at the locals, feeling completely happy to be here.
Then, one fellow griff caught my absolute attention.
She dashed over when I wasn’t looking, and tackled me with a running start. I didn’t have time to even react! I looked up at her- The purplish hippogriff with that amazing aqua blue mane, and that squeaky voice I could never resist.
“Nathan! Hey! How’s it going?” Silverstream asks me in utter joy.
I get up with a laugh.
“Haha, I’m fine, Silver,” I say, dusting myself off and hugging her afterward. “Great to see you! Have you been telling literally everygriff around here about me? They seem to all know me for whatever reason.”
She nods excitedly. Twilight, standing behind her, laughs.
“One minute, I’ll get my camera. You’re okay with being recorded, right?”
“Oh, don’t worry!”
She nods in approval and I take out my camera to record.
“Okay, just got to Mount Aris and trotting down the street, where this fellow appeared!” I turn the camera to my friend, who was waving at the camera. “Some of you may or may not recognize her, buuuuuuuut in case you don’t, this is my good friend Silverstream from the Friendship School!”
“Hi everyone!!” She giggles with a bubbly voice. “I’m so excited!! I’ve never been on camera before! I’ve always wanted to do this since he came!”
“Alright, Silver, *giggles* Don’t get too excited on things they shouldn’t know,” I giggle, then whispering, ”I’ll edit that part out.” “Anyway! So now we are going to head down to the shores of Mount Aris, which is practically where the station was, and we are going to visit somewhere special.”
I walk as I continue speaking. “You girls know what it is?”
“Seaquestria!”
“Right! So, for the first time, I’m gonna be a seapony, and they will guide me through the waters to reach Seaquestria, and I’ll try to record as much as I can with my phone, there unfortunately wouldn’t be any audio because I’m underwater and all, even though I believe I can speak underwater as a seapony. Probably the next thing you’ll be seeing is either me going crazy over being a seapony or a montage of my visit.”
All of us start laughing as I turn off the camera.
“So I’ve never swum in the ocean before, Silverstream. Buuuuuut, I’m willing to bet your oceans are absolutely stunning. Tell me about Seaquestria.”
She bounces up and down very cheerfully.
“Oh my gosh, it’s like, the best place ever!” She yells that so excitedly she almost forgot we are in public. I guess the others don’t mind. “I’ve been living there all my life until Princess Twilight came to save us! It’s amazing, trust me!”
Twilight nods. “I would be the first to agree. Don’t worry, Nathan. I’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed at all. But that’s not just because we’ll be going to Seaquestria, of course.”
“Oh my! Right! I forgot to tell you!” Silverstream gets even more excited. “I may or may not have told my cousin you’re coming today, and knowing her, I’m sure she would’ve told my aunt, too!”
I freeze in place.
“Wait, you’re talking about Princess Skystar!?”
“Yup!”
I instantly started squealing in utter joy.
“Ohhhhhhh boy! Heck yeah!” I celebrate. “You have no idea how much I loved her on the show. Well, she only appeared in the movie, but still! You have any idea how freaking much I would want to see her!? Hehe, you may be a big mouth, but sometimes that comes in quite handy.”
“You do realize that you might even meet Queen Novo at this rate, right?” Twilight jokes.
“I do! It would be my honor!”
10 minutes later, and I was in the water. I didn’t mind getting my clothes wet, so I complied when I was told to. I put my phone in a sealed bag beforehand so it wouldn’t get wet. It is waterproof but not for a long time.
“So how are we going to do this?” I ask.
Twilight turns to Silverstream since she would be the one to answer.
“Well, my brother did this once, and I’ll do it for you this time!” Silverstream says. “So, I can transform into a seapony whenever I wish, but if I want to affect the ones around me, we would do what’s called a ‘Magic Fusion’.”
I twitch my eyebrow in both confusion and curiosity.
“Interesting. It looked so much simpler when I saw him do it.”
Twilight giggles. “Nate, remember how she likes to over-dramatize things?” We all give a laugh. “What she means, is that when somepony wants to transform into a seapony, all they have to do is be in contact with the hippogriff transforming themselves directly or by somepony else contacting them. Just hold onto their hoof.”
I nod and took Twilight’s hoof. She took Silverstream’s hoof, and the hippogriff closed her eyes as I watch in awe. She put her other hoof on her special necklace. On it, was a fragment of the Seaponys’ pearl, that could help them transform between forms whenever they wish. When she did, she said some kind of spell, and in a flash, I started feeling something different about my body.
The second the transformation finished, I dropped into the water. I saw Silverstream and Twilight both in their seapony form, and I could breathe, so I made the guess I transformed already. I look at myself and gasp in awe. My body has successfully changed into a seapony!
It was like I turned into a pony then a seapony- Not only did my body change, all my skin features changed too. I am now cyan colored, my hair was dyed orange and blue, my eye color changed orange (They told me about it) and of course, I had a beautiful tail. Thankfully, I still had my hands to grab my phone with, Though the color change was strange.
Twilight gasps when she sees me.
“Nathan! You look... You look so amazing!”
I laugh as she hugs me, and Silverstream joins in the giggles too.
“Wow... I look so different,” I tell them, admiring my tail. “Even my skin colour changed! Twi, help me record!”
She has to fidget a little with the phone since she doesn’t have her horn anymore. But she got it working, and I was swishing and swimming happily around. I feel so free and relaxed.
“How’s it feel!? I know, cool right!?” Silverstream squeezes her cheeks with a smile.
“It does! What are we waiting for!? Let’s go!”
We reach Seaquestria in no time. Along the way, I recorded some footage underwater. What I saw in the deep sea caverns was very lovely. The colorful corals, the hundreds of fish that passed by, and the many neighboring Seaponies that came our way. They all gave intriguing looks to why I don’t have hooves, but to me, I was too busy having fun exploring the waters.
And trying to catch up to them. I’m not the best of swimmers, actually. So most of the time they were dragging me along.
When we get to Seaquestria, once again, I am completely attacked by the surprise of “Animation vs reality”. The palace and its surrounding houses were all glowing a radiant magenta, and it was so interesting they all kinda look like jellyfishes. Seaponies all around gasp at my presence.
I was taken by Silverstream straight to the throne room because apparently, that’s where I’m going first. Seems like my meeting with Skystar’s up early.
The moment we all enter from the bottom after gaining access, we are greeted by a familiar, and just as happy face.
“Silver!”
“Skystar!!”
The two cousins tightly embrace each other when Silverstream swam up to greet her.
“Good to see you!!” Skystar squeaks, letting go. “Where is he!? Tell me tell me tell me!! I want to meet him so badly!!”
Silverstream starts dying of laughter as she calms her cousin down.
“He’s here with me! And princess Twilight, too!”
She moves out of the way and motions me to come over. I swam up to her as she gasps in absolute excitement.
“*giggles* Hey, Princess Skystar. My name’s- Ahhh!”
She envelopes me in a tight hug, followed by a pretty forceful and vigorous handshake. I couldn’t stay silent at that, and I smile at her bubbly face. The yellow hippogriff can’t seem to calm herself down and was wagging her tail.
“Hi!! You’re Nathan, right!? Silver’s been talking so much about you! Oh my gosh, you have no idea how much I want to see you! You’re a human! I’ve never met one before!”
“*chuckles* Well, I had no idea you have no idea how much you wanted to see me!”
We both burst out into laughter and hug each other like we’ve known each other for a long time. Twilight stayed behind with Silverstream, both softly giggling and leaving us to it.
“Where’s your majesty?” I ask, looking around. “Isn’t she around?”
“Oh, pssssh, just doing something. She’ll be here in a bit. Seriously! I’m soooo happy to meet you!”
“Great! You have no idea how much I adore you, you’re just so so so soooo cute!”
I squeeze my face, making her laugh.
“Mind if I make a video with you? I brought something with me,” I say, holding my phone.
“Sure!”
I get my phone turned on. I didn’t really want to speak due to the water, but because this was a good moment, I decide to speak anyway. After all, I’ll just put some subtitles if they come out bad. I take a selfie with all four of us, then just me and Skystar, and finally got to the video.
“Alright! Finally got to Seaquestria, I’m in this fairly empty throne room right now, and I am here with the definition of adorable- Princess Skystar!”
She waves very joyfully.
“Anything you wanna say to my fans out there that adore you?”
She lets out a jolly squee. “Hello everygriff!! It’s me Skystar! I can’t wait to hear what you guys think about me, I heard that a lot of you like me so yaaaaaaaay!”
I laugh rather loudly and pan the phone back towards me.
“Okay, we’re waiting for our other guest to join back in, She’s unfortunately not here yet but will be soon. I’m not sure if she’ll let me record or not, hopefully, she would, but if she doesn’t want to be on cam then I don’t mind.”
I stop the footage. I casually flap my tail and fins around and swam in circles as we engage in a chat.
“It’s very sweet of you, Skystar. Thanks for spending time with me, haha.”
She giggles. “Come on, it’s not like I have much to do besides bug my mother every day, riiiiight~? And she doesn’t like it either, soooooo~”
“Mmmm, parents.” I casually reply.
“By the way, Nathan,” Silverstream enquires, “There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask of you... I’ve thought about it for a while.”
“Go ahead.”
“Would you... Would you show me, or even Skystar around the oceans of your world?”
I finally come to a stop and look at them. I swim over, and sigh.
“W-Well... I don’t know if you’ll like it.”
The two seaponies look at each other, then back at me.
“Why not?” They beg.
“Oceans in the human world are... Kinda a big problem. That’s how I can put it without disappointing you both. Yes, there are beautiful things in the ocean for us too, but for the most part, it couldn’t compare to this.”
“But, if you still want to check it out, I don’t mind taking you girls to that ‘Beautiful thing’.”
They both squee with joy and clapped their little hooves.
“You can take me too, right?” Twilight chimed in. “I’ve never seen the ocean in your world before.”
“Of course.”
“Eeeee! So excited!” Silverstream squeaks, “Will There be more species of fish we get to see?”
Skystar nods. “Or maybe we might even find a whole new tribe of seaponies! That would be awesome, wouldn’t it?”
I blush at their excitement and anticipation. Before I could tell them the truth, a regal voice catches our complete attention.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
I turn to my right, and from behind the columns and pillars around the throne room, a royal being that I completely recognize finally decides to show up. She was a fairly large seapony, as white as a pearl, and I’m not going to even mention how great her looks are anymore.
Why? Because I’m not one to embarrass freaking Queen Novo!
We all turn to the Queen and bow with absolute sincerity as she returns to her throne, with a relaxed sigh.
“Mom! I just got the most awesome idea ever!”
Skystar swims over to nuzzle against her mother’s side.
“*hums* What is it, my dear? You’re always up to some kind of adventure.”
“Okay, so I’ve been telling you about this ‘human’ that came to Equestria, right? The one that made friends with Twilight, the rest of her friends, me and Silverstream-“
Novo’s eyes perked open. “He’s here?”
Skystar stopped dead, thinking she was going to get yelled for this.
“Oh, uhhhh... I can explain, I-“
Novo kindly pushes her out of the way, to meet my eyes with a genuine smile on her face. She floats over to greet me with a hoofshake.
“You must be the human my daughter’s been telling me about, correct?”
I nod. “Yes. Queen Novo, ruler of the seaponies. What an honor it is to meet you today.” I take a quick bow before she reassures me with a giggle.
“Dear, for an ambassador of another kind, you happen to be very nice and friendly and I do appreciate that,” Novo replies, letting go of the handshake. Then she turns her vision to Twilight. “*chuckles* Unlike somepony here in the room.”
Twilight blushes as we all laugh.
“I see you’ve got to know my daughter well?”
“Indeed. I must admit, you should be lucky to have such a wonderful and optimistic girl. Of course, she’s a handful at times, but you can’t deny that she’s adorable and irresistible.”
She gives a grin as Skystar gives her a nudge.
“Now, upon that question I overheard,” Novo enquires. “Where are you taking her?”
“Oh, just the oceans of my world. Don’t worry, we’ll be back in one piece.”
“Mhmm, is it safe?”
“As long as they’re with me, then yeah.”
“I’m not quite sure about that, fellow one,” Novo replies, tracing circles with a hoof. “You know how crazy they get when they find something they like. These two can talk to each other all day. I’m not joking.”
Skystar blushes. “Moooooooom! Pleaseeeee?”
Silverstream leans over to whisper to me as Skystar tries to persuade her mother to let her go.
“I’ll be the judge- Yes, we did do that when we were fillies.”
“Are you serious?”
“Kinda, Yeah.”
I eventually get bored and start to chat with Twilight as I hear Novo and Skystar bickering in the background. After 5 minutes Novo finally gives in and sighs.
“Alright, Fine. But if you get caught, not my fault!”
Skystar happily twirls around and hugs her mother with a tackle.
“Thanks Mom~ Hey Guys!! We’re going!”
I sigh in relief. “Okay! Nice! Don’t worry, Queen Novo, I’ll make sure these two little fillies are on their best behavior.”
“Not to make any bets, but I wish you good luck on that. These two are hard to keep under control.”
Silverstream feels a tiny bit annoyed, but Skystar just nudged her and complied.
“Right, here’s the deal, then,” I say, trying to make a bet. “If they successfully cause mischief and get into trouble, you can make me do whatever embarrassing challenge you wish and make me put that up for everyone to watch. If they don’t, you’ll have to record with me, and I will not edit anything out even if you said something by mistake.”
Queen Novo approves.
“Fair enough,” She answers. “I personally don’t want my private life to be shown, actually.”
“Thought you’d say that. Picture, at least?”
“That would work, thanks.”
“Just got out of the water, great to be on my feet again.”
I say as I record myself and my two friends walk back to town to hang out.
“So, unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get footage of my meeting with Queen Novo due to privacy and all, but I’m sure you just saw the clips of me and Skystar having fun around Seaquestria. This was amazingly fun, much more than I expected, isn’t that right, girls?”
Twilight nods. “It honestly has been a while since I last came over for meeting royalty. Hehe, still got some awkward flashbacks.”
Silverstream giggles and nudges her with a claw. I decide to keep the recording on as we talk about what we feel about the day.
“So, how’s Seaquestria?” Silverstream asks, smiling. “I know, amazing, right?”
“Indeed,” I reply. “I have never seen such wonderful sights of nature, especially in the sea. The marine wildlife and coral reefs around Seaquestria is a must see. I’m genuinely surprised- And ashamed, too.”
“Why?” Twilight asks.
“To be honest... Our oceans aren’t as nice back in my world. You’ll see when I take you there next time, Kay?”
They simply nod at my explanation.
“Anyway, this is only gonna be part one of the vlog, and through the magic of editing, I will transport us straight to the human world!”
I proceed to cover the camera, then switching it off afterward.
“Always wondered how people do that.”
We all have a laugh.
