It was difficult work, but hey, she was Princess Celestia—she could handle it. And she had for 1,000 years, which wasn’t exactly easy considering it was an all-day thing. Sure, you got a nap in here and there; then you had to wake up and raise the sun. And when she finally fell asleep, it was close to night time. Of course she had to wake up again, and raise the moon. That wasn’t her job, technically, but how in her name could she leave the sun up every day for 1,000 years? Equestria wouldn’t have thanked her for that, the princess knew for sure. She snuck a glance into her room regretfully; she clearly should've slept last night. But now it was a bit late for that, so she had to stay awake. Awake, awake, awak-- Celestia's eyes began to close, she was rather sleepy. "Luna?" Celestia called to her younger sister. "Yes, sister?" Luna asked, trotting into Celestia's room. "Why have you called us here?" The white mare shook her head, trying to wake up a bit. She had to atleast give Luna a bit of warning about this important task. "Can you raise the sun in a few hours?" "Well, we were going to--" Luna began, quickly trying to get her word in. Her sister cut the younger blue mare off quickly. "Thank you so much, L," Celestia called over her shoulder, giving a loud yawn. She trotted off, falling into a large white bed. The conversation was clearly over, and Luna had no choice but to do Celestia's job for her. Luna's hooves clomped loudly down on the floor of the castle as she walked away. She's angry, I can tell, Celestia thought, trying to get comfortable. Her sister's feelings about this was not her problem, she was going to get some sleep finally. That didn't exactly make it easier for the deity to fall asleep, though. You simply don't fall over after 1,000 years of barely anything. Those naps had gotten her used to this, and as she moved around on her bed, Celestia wondered if she shouldn't have even bothered with them. Clearly not. She gave another loud yawn, using her magic to shut the door to her room. The alicorn was finally happy with the spot she was in, and soon afterward fell asleep. Meanwhile, Luna was preparing to do her sister's job. For the first time ever! She would've been excited had she not been so angry with her sister. "Aha! We have an idea!" she said to herself, a thin smile spreading onto her face. Luna figured her sister wouldn't like her plan, and she walked away without raising the sun. Celestia's eyes shot open, sneaking a glance at her clock. It read 6:56, and she assumed she'd slept into the next day. The white princess stretched and yawned, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. She was not shocked that it was still dark outside as she looked out of her window, stretching her wings out. She wasn't worried at all, until one of her guards came in with a worried look on his face. "Good, you're awake, princess." His voice was wary, and he looked like he had more to say. "Um, yes, I suppos--" "Luna didn't raise the sun today!" The guard exclaimed, cutting her off. In the name of myself, can I not even trust my sister anymore?! Celestia glanced around, irritated with Luna. "LUNA!" She yelled loudly, no longer keeping her voice polite. She glared at her sister through narrowed eyes as the young mare trotted up. "Yes, sister?" Luna asked politely, repeating what she'd said earlier. "Why have you called us here?" Celestia face hoofed, it was fairly obvious why she had called her sister. "You left it night time for half the day!" she exclaimed, eyes wide. "Did you learn nothing from your 1,000 year time out?" Luna smiled a bit at Celestia's odd look. "You did not ask us to do it for you, you answered for us. Technically, we had no reason to do it at all." The blue deity said slowly, a bold move for someone who'd just angered Princess Celestia. "Ugh, whatever," Celestia sighed, rolling her eyes. She would let her sister pass this time. "Just never, ever do it again. Understand?" "Yes, we understand sister," Luna giggled to herself, not believing that she had actually gotten away with it. "Good," Celestia said, turning around to raise the sun. It was a bit late, but it was better than nothing. Equestria could not complain, even though Twilight obviously had, judging by the number of letters piling up on her table. I promised myself that I wouldn't use my magic on her, but she's earned it this time. Look at that smile on her face! Sorry, Luna, but you didn't get away with it! A soft, pink glow came off of Celestia's horn as she planned what she would do to her little sister. "Now take a nap, L. You get awfully cranky when you don't sleep," Celestia laughed, casting a spell to make Luna sleep. The blue alicorn fell over, and Celestia nodded to a guard to move her to her room. Payback was always rather amusing! The alicorn laughed to herself, making a new promise to herself. No more using magic on Luna, unless of course she deserves it. This will definitely come in handy in the future, I'm sure of it, she thought. "Okay then, I'm tired," she sighed. "Again! What is wrong with me lately?" she shrugged. She'd done her job today, right? Trotting off toward her bed, Celestia smiled at another guard. "Make sure to wake Luna up in a few hours, please? Nopony in Equestria wants it to be daylight all day, I know," Celestia plopped into bed again. Finally somepony can get sleep around here!
