> Recovering > by Xenont > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Recovering - once again, the only chapter > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "OUCH!" Sunset shouted as the nurse re-wrapped her leg. "Ah...Ow, ow,owww!" Sunset clenched her fists as she closed her eyes and laid back on the hospital bed. Well, I guess it can't be much worse... She thought, just as the cast was tightened, making her flinch in pain. As the nurse left, Sunset took a deep breath, regretting it when a surge a pain rushed up to her chest. AH! I really need to remind myself not to move huh? she rubbed her stomach, which was full of bandages and ointment. Gross, and now, I'm stuck here forever! At least Dash gets to go to school, though she did not look so willing. Rainbow had argued all day with the doctors that she should not be discharged just yet and that she was 'not ready' for school. Well, at least you are not trapped in a room that smells like a inside of a alcohol bottle! Sunset laid back, looking at the clock. "What!?" She said, out loud now. "It's still so early?! School is not dismissed for an hour? Ugh..." Sunset hated it. Well, all I have to do is wait and wait and wait for them to come visit.... Sunset's friends were just as shocked as her when they found out that Rainbow was bullied everyday and what Gilda did to her, they also promised that they would visit Sunset after school. That made the time just pass slower and slower. "Sunset!" Sunset opened her eyes to see six girls smiling down at her brightly. "Hey..." She replied, wincing as she tried to sit up. "Hey girls!" She said after a minute of struggling. "Oh, I sure hope I din't wake you..." Twilight said, smiling. "Anyway, how was a day in here?" Sunset gave a disgusted look towards her friend. "Are you kidding?" She said. "It was sooooo boring!" From the corner of her eyes, Sunset saw Rainbow cross her arms, her mouth forming the word 'lucky'. "Anyway, here!" Twilight said as she handed Sunset a box. "It's just something Pinkie and I made for you after we heard what happened." Sunset took the box, opening it. Inside was a full meal, filled with everything that Sunset enjoyed eating. She looked up at the two girls, her eyes filled with gratitude. "And here, some thing you do not like.."Twilight said as she handed Sunset a thick stack of papers. "What is this....?" Sunset asked cautiously. "Homework! You have loads!" Twilight said as a stack of papers came flying into her face, covering the floor around her. Everyone stared at Twilight, than at Sunset, who's hands were still locked in the position at which she threw the papers. After a minute of awkward silence, Pinkie burst out laughing, causing everyone to smile too. Twilight began to frantically pick up all the fallen worksheets, placing them on the table. "Sorry Twi...." Sunset said as she rubbed her hands together, suddenly remembering something. "So, uh...." She turned to Rainbow. "Why is Gilda bothering you? What did you do?" Everyone looked towards Rainbow, expecting an answer. Rainbow turned away, her back facing her friends. "Come on Dash..." Sunset urged. "Fine.." Rainbow turned around and sat by the side of Sunset's bed. "I suggest you guys take a seat, it's gonna be a long one. Not needing to be told twice, everyone sat down around the bed. "Okay..." Rainbow inhaled, rubbing her cast. "It all stared back when Sunny here was still a bully...." Rainbow was just going about her day when Gilda came up to her. "Hey squirt!" Gilda shouted. rainbow turned around to face the bully. Gilda was right, back then, Rainbow had always been small for her age. Gilda raised her fists, "way'd go for not letting me copy off ya, now I'm gonna fail!" Rainbow looked the bully in the eye. "Good, you'll have to learn it the hard way!" She said, instantly slapping herself. "What did you say?" Gilda replied. Rainbow knew she was done for. Back then, Gilda was the biggest bully, right next to Sunset. But she was worse, for Sunset never really actually did beat anyone up badly before. But with Gilda, you could be given a ride to the hospital of you were not careful. "I don't remember what I did, just that I must have told someone because next thing I knew, Celestia knew about it and she was kicked out from school!" Rainbow recalled. "But not before she told me that she would be back." Rainbow said as she gestured to her hand. "This is proof." "But why did you keep it from us like this?" Applejack asked. "Ya kept it hidden until Sunset had to find out herself? Really, Rainbow!" Rainbow hung her head. "Well, it was my own problem anyway, as you can see," she said, pointing at Sunset, "I knew what wound happen if you guys tried to stand up for me..." Rainbow turned away. "And, I did not want the rest of the school to know...they would laugh at me..." Rainbow muttered sadly. "Hey..." Sunset said. "It is okay, getting bullied is very normal, I would know..." She said. "And it is okay to seek for help." She sighed."Rainbow, you did the right thing, but why would you keep it from your friends?" "Well," Rainbow said. "Gilda said that if I every dared to tell any of you, she would come after you and hurt you guys, I din't want that to happen...." Rainbow looked at every on of their faces. "I wouldn't let her hurt any of you." The group smiled. "Darling, we would have helped you, regardless of the danger, what are friends for anyway?" Rarity said. "Next time, just tell us the truth, who cares what anyone else thinks or says about you, none of them would affect you if you don't let it!" Rainbow scratched her head and smiled. "I guess..." She slung her hand around Sunset. "Next time Gilda comes to bother me, I'll tell her I've got a knuckle-breaking team on my side known as 'friends'". ~The end~
