Scootaloo Leave's Ponyville with Two Friends, their just not the friend's you'd expect
Scootaloo gathers all her friend's to tell them that she's running away and their welcome to join her, instead of Applebloom and Sweetie bell tho, she finds Spike and Silverstream are the only ones ready to head out with her, and with that, the oddest adventure around Equestria begins as they try and keep from getting caught before they complete their journey.
"Welcome Cutie Mark Crusaders and friends!" Scootaloo began looking at the varied bunch she had invited, her friends Sweetie Belle and Applebloom were sitting on either side of the podium, in front of her was a small but varied crowd, consisting of Sandbar, Gallus, Yona, Ocellus, Smolder, Silverstream, and Spike. Yona and Smolder where whispering to each other quietly, Sandbar was trying to figure out which Gallus was Ocellus and which was actually Gallus. Meanwhile, Silverstream seemed to be dragging Spike around the small space to look at everything.
"...and also Spike for some reason" She added, realizing she hadn't invited him nor asked anyone to invite him,
"Silverstream has a thing for him" Smolder whispered "You ever been grabbed by a Hippogriff? impossible to get out of their grasp" Scootaloo looked up and noted that Spike was being dragged along by Silverstream more than he was walking with her. "Silverstream please take a seat we’re about to start!" Silverstream turned on the spot and dragged Spike along with her, the two sat down and the entire room watched for a second as Spike tried to pull away, only to be pulled in closer.
"Someone help" he whined, Silverstream just hushed him and looked at Scootaloo with her captive, as Ocellus snuck up behind her and turned into Spike, she winked at the original Spike and poked Silverstream's shoulder, clearly she had hoped that Silverstream would let go of the original in confusion, instead Silverstream ended up with two Spikes
"I didn't think this through", Ocellus muttered as she turned back and tried to free herself, Scootaloo clears her throat and started from the beginning.
"Let's try this again, Welcome Cutie Mark Crusaders, friends, and hostages!" She gave a wave to the trapped Ocellus and Spike, "as...almost all of you already know, I have called you here to ask a rather ridiculous favor, but a favor nonetheless!" Scootaloo motioned out with one hoof. "I would like you all to run away with me.
"I have questions" Spike called out.
"Yona Lost her note!" Yona agreed.
"Silverstream you're hurting my arm" Ocellus added helpfully as Scootaloo sighed.
"Yona how did you lose your note," she asked "It was huge"
"Yona dropped it in river, floated away"
"I'm not Spike" Ocellus complained, Silverstream looked at her closely.
"Ok, but if you are Spike, don't forget to be back by 5"
"I'm Spike" Spike cut in "And What are we doing at 5?" Scootaloo began banging her gavel.
"Order in the court"
"This isn't a court" Gallus yelled out
"Order in the wooden treehouse then!" Scootaloo shot back, once there was silence she continued "Alright, I have asked you to run away with me, not because life is hard, or unfair, but for an adventure!" Scootaloo looked shuffled threw her speech to find the next part before continuing "an adventure, to shake things up, not to save Equestria, not to find some destiny, and not in search of wisdom,an adventure....so we have a cool story to tell all out friend's and family when we go back to school this summer"
"You want us, to go with you, and find something exciting to do, and probably waste our entire summer vacation"
"Oh come on, do you guys have anything better to do? I know you don't Spike"
"I wasn't even invited here!" Spike shot back
"Well, your apart of it now!" Scootaloo replied, "Come on, think of how much fun we could all have!"
"Think about how horrible grounded we'll be when we get back" Applebloom chipped in "I'm sorry Scoots but I'm out" Scootaloo looked down at her and then around at the other's as they began declaring their disinterest
"So it's just me and Spike then?"
"I agreed to nothing!" Spike complained when Silverstream's hand shot up.
"If Spike's going, I'm going!"
"Yes, Good, Great! Anyone else!" Scootaloo looked around hopefully, only to find head shakes and others not looking at her, she sighed "Fine, I can make this work, Before this meeting adjourns, you must all swear to me one thing!"
"And that is?" Sweetie asked
"NO SNITCHING!" Scootaloo demanded "I'm looking at you Applebloom" She added "Don't go breaking under your sister's gaze!"
"Hey, no fair! my sis can tell when I'm lying!"
"Then tell her you swore no snitching! Now, do you all swear it?"
"I swear no snitching!" The room said, without hesitation, everyone turned to Spike, who blinked
"Oh come on! HOW!?"
"We always know, now swear it!" Scootaloo demanded, Spike muttered angrily, then squeaked in pain when Silverstream held onto him with both hand's
"Come on Spikey, just swear and we can go get ready"
"I swear no snitching! Please, only one hand!" Spike begged as Silverstream smiled and let go with one hand
"Alright, we'll meet you tomorrow at 5, Scootaloo!" Silver said as she flew off with Spike using all his wing-power to keep up with her,"
"Are you really gonna make him go with you?" Applebloom asked
"He's the only reason I'm not going alone, he's definitely coming whether he likes it or not," Scootaloo said as the treehouse emptied. Without hesitation Scootaloo got on her scooter and made her way home, Her aunt's where off on their honeymoon and even then they'd just think she was waking up earlier than them and staying out later than they stayed up, She grabbed her pack and began packing it. it was a huge camping bag, it was already almost full, it had several changes of clothes, a bedroll, a pillow, some hygiene products, and all the bit's she'd been saving for almost a full year. The only thing left to pack was food, which she had intentionally left for last minute so as to pack the freshest food and to pack food all of her party could eat, as she routed through the pantry she heard a knock on the door,
"Yes...Rainbow Dash Hi!" Scootaloo said, seeing her mentor and friend standing at the door.
"Sup Kid," She said as Scootaloo walked out, closing the door behind her "How's your summer looking?"
"It just started, but so far, pretty good." Rainbow nodded
"Got any plans, or are you just gonna loaf around doing nothing productive?'
"I got some plan's with a few of my friends." Scootaloo replied "We're gonna be, doing stuff, you wouldn't be interested in it"
"Try me," Rainbow replied
"No, I mean, we're basically gonna be doing a few school assignments I didn't turn in and..."Rainbow started laughing
"You got summer school? Oh that is so bad" She chortled as sighed "Alright, enjoy your studying, I'll check up on ya later then" Rainbow said as she flew off with a wave, as she flew off she watched Scootaloo go back inside
"Summer School eh?" She thought "Twilight could probably help with that" She turned towards the castle and after locating her, flew into the room Twilight was reading in "Mind if I enter?" she asked, causing Twilight to jump
"oh yeah, that's why the window's stay closed" She muttered as she closed the window with magic. "What do you need Rainbow?"
"I need your help in helping Scootaloo with Summer School"
"Why am I not surprised?" Twilight asked as she got up
"You were expecting me to come in and ask for help with School?" Rainbow asked in confusion
"No, I meant Scootaloo in Summer school."
"Oh...HEY!" Rainbow rushed to her friend's defense "She probably just dropped her bag in the mud a few times while scootering and lost her homework or something" the two talked and walked on their way to the Library but stopped when they heard rustling in Spike's Room. Twilight knocked on the door
"I told you two you're not allowed to close the door"
"We are doing nothing!" Spike shot back, as Twilight opened the Door, Spike just managed to hide the bag he and Silverstream had been packing from their sight
"Ohhoho?" Rainbow asked, "How long has this been going on?" she motioned between the two before they could answer Twilight interjected
"Don't both, Spike's still denying there together" Twilight gave him the "I'm watching you" hoof sign before walking in and sniffing "And so far I haven't caught any signs of them doing anything...yet." She added staring at him, Rainbow looked at Silverstream and motioned at Spike
"Really?" She asked "him?"
"yes, him" She responded, "He's dreamy!" She hugged him, causing a loud crack to reverberate around the room
"It's like Big Mac, but 100 times worse" Spike muttered as he wobbled on his feet. Rainbow nodded as she left the room, once out of earshot Rainbow turned to Twilight
"Must be hard to see your little hatchling dating a girl, hope you didn't embarrass him too much when you found out." Twilight looked over at Rainbow with a smirk.
"I gave them a 4-hour Private sex-ed class" Twilight stumbled.
"Oh, that must have been hard for them."
"2 hours of Dragon's, 2 hours on Hippogriffs" She nodded "They where both glowing red by the time it was over" as the two made their way down to the Library Spike peeked out
"I can't believe I'm about to do this" He sighed as Silverstream looked through the bag, he began looking through his closet.
"I'm spending the night right?" She asked
"You've spent the last 9 night's" Spike replied as he pulled out a hoodie
"So...I don't suppose you'd let me..."
"Whatever you two are talking about NO!" Twilight's voice rang out. Making the two jump
"Dang it" Silverstream muttered angrily as she pulled out her overnight bag and looked through it "Do you have spare..."
"Whatever it is, Yes, I have a Spare" Spike replied "Let's wait until night to get out food supplies," He said as he looked out the door. "Do you have the Potion's I told you to pack just in case we need to go off book fast?"
"I have Three of them," She confirmed, as the two sat in awkward silence Silverstream looked at a table behind Spike "Wanna finish our game?" Silverstream asked Spike looked at his bag
"Yup, I'm done packing, for now, let's go fail at Chess for a while, I need to relax anyway."
It was 4:30 AM when they made their move, Spike and Silverstream made their way to the kitchen slowly and quietly and began poaching as much food as they could fit in their bags. Once filled the duo opened a window and flew the coop.
"What'd you get?" Silverstream asked as they flew to Scootaloo's home
"Mostly cans of spaghetti and water" Spike replied "You?"
"I got three canteens, a few boxes of crackers and some juice boxes"
"Alright, let's go start what will most likely be the biggest regret of my life" Spike declared as the two descended onto Scootaloo's home. Scootaloo was just stepping outside when they landed
"Alright team!" She declared "Ready to run away?"
"It sounds bad when you say it like that" Silverstream replied "Think of a different way of saying it"
"How about we talk and walk, just in case somepony decided to wake up early and question us"
"Spike it's 5 am," Scootaloo said as the started walking "We got a cool 2 hours before anypony wakes up" Meanwhile at Sugar Cube Corner Pinkie was watching the three of them through Binoculars
"Well, well, well" She whispered "Looks like someponies didn't take into account ponies who've been awoken by crying foals" She lowered her binoculars and thought for a second
"Should I get Rainbow and Twilight now? or let them get a head start?" She looked through her gear again "ah, it looks like they're super prepared for this...I'll give 'em a 20-minute head start" she decided as she watched them head out. Spike suddenly froze
"What's up?" Scootaloo asked, "not getting cold feet are we?"
"I just got the feeling...the feeling that a Pink Party Pony is watching me," Spike said, greeted by silence "Run!" without a word the trio turned and high tailed it to the Everfree forest
"is it safe to go into Everfree?" Silverstream asked, "I still remember those porcupine things!"
"It'll be a lot easier to hide from the Mane 6 when they come chasing after us!" Scootaloo shot back
"I agree, future Spike can deal with Twilight, present Spike isn't about to do that!"
"Oh, not again with that" Scootaloo muttered as the three entered the forest "where are we going!?"
"Keep going forward then head west!" Spike yelled
"Why West?"
"Cause there's nothing over that way, and they'll think we're running to something!"
"Good plan," Silverstream said as they all booked it, Pinkie meanwhile was panicking
"I didn't think they'd run into Everfree!" Without hesitation, Pinkie slammed open her WIndow and used her loudest and biggest Megaphone to yell across the entirety of Ponyville "SOS, EMERGENCY! RUN AWAY, CHILDREN! RUN AWAY, CHILDREN!"
"WEST NOW!" Scootaloo yelled as the trio turned hard and ran into the Tree's
"This feels dangerous!" Silverstream called out
"It's this or Twilight!" Spike shouted back
"I'll just keep heading west then" Silverstream decided as the trio hightailed it into the depth of the forest!" meanwhile back in ponyville
"She's doing what!?" Rainbow Dash demanded
"Scootaloo, Spike, and Silverstream all ran into Everfree!" Pinkie yelled out her window as a mob of ponies gathered around
"SPIKE!" Twilight yelled as she turned to the forest, she looked at it hard, looking angrier by the second "he was smart to run in there, but also unbelievably stupid!!" She looked over at Rainbow "Help me look for them, Everypony else, either go back to bed or help look!" With that Pinkie jumped out the window and ran at full speed to the forest.
"Spike!" she called "Scootaloo, Silverstream! If you come back now you'll be in a lot less trouble then if they have to chase you down!" she got no response as she continued yelling, up above Twilight and Rainbow looked around
"Let's check the castle of the two sisters first," Twilight said as they made their way South
"Told ya" Spike smirked as the trio watched them fly away while hiding in a muddy bog "Let's move before" Spike turned and froze when he saw what Scootaloo was standing on "oh holly Celestia" Scootaloo and Silverstream looked at Spike in confusion as he shook in fear, before he pointed at Scootaloo's hooved "Cr..cragodile" he whispered, the other two looked down and saw the sleeping beast and froze
"Shit" Scootaloo muttered in fear as she slowly got off it's back "No sudden movements or loud..." Suddenly off in the distance Pinkie's voice ran out
"COME BACK, THIS PLACE IS SUPER DUPER DANGEROUS." The Cragodile opened it's eye's and The Trio ran as fast as they could threw the muddy bog and, just as the Cragodile fully awoke the trio was climbing a small hill and moving
"Don't get separated" Spike called "this place is hella scary!" as the trio ran over the hill Pinkie spotted them and yelled out "WEST, TO THE WEST!" Twilight and Rainbow, who had just reached the castle, turned to Pinkie's voice, they just managed to catch sight of them and Twilight lit her horn to teleport them, Spike meanwhile grabbed the two and jumped behind a tree and the trio immediately started sinking into the muddy ground, the three sat in silence, waist deep in mud, when Twilight and Rainbow teleported in
"SPIKE! GIRLS, IM GIVING YOU ALL TO THE COUNT OF THREE! COME OUT NOW AND I PROMISE YOUR PUNISHMENT WILL BE SHORT AND SWIFT"
"Bullshit," The Trio all thought independently as Twilight looked around she frowned
"Let's move, I don't know where they're going, but there's only so many places they can go, we'll find them, or they'll come out in defeat!" Twilight said as she took to the air with Rainbow following, the Trio sat in silence
"I didn't plan on Pinkie Pie catching on to us" Scootaloo sighed "I'm sorry guys."
"Well you’re welcome," Spike said as he pulled his bag out of the mud and began rummaging through it until he pulled out a potion "Cause I calculated the odds of us getting caught were at 60%" Scootaloo slowly turned to him
"And you didn't think to tell me that?"
"40% Chance of nothing eventful happening" Spike shrugged as he popped open his potion
"What is that?" She asked
"A Teleportation potion" Spike held it up "It'll take us to a Pond just outside of Los Pegasus" He smiled and got a smile back from his two traveling buddies"
"So these potions in my Bag?" Silverstream asked
"Will Teleport us to three different locations, to be used in emergencies only!" Spike helped the three of them up and, after Spike took all their bags so nothing was lost, the three all called out
"HEY!" Twilight and Rainbow turned in the air,
"Bye Rainbow" Scootaloo waved as Spike held up the potion, Twilight turned to them
"Spike don't you dare!"
"See you next fall!" Spike replied as the girl's grabbed him and he crushed the bottle in his hand, The Potion turned into a Vortex in his hand and in a flash the three were gone along with a spherical section of the mud they had been in, there was silence for a moment before Twilight's scream rang out
"SPIKE!!!" Rainbow looked at where they had been and nodded
"Well played kid, Well played" She smiled, then frowned and shook her head "Her aunts are gonna be pissed tho"
Scootaloo was blinded by the teleportation flash, and before she could get her bearing she was underwater, she blinked and looked around, Spike had immediately sunk to the bottom with a less than worries look and Silverstream had already broken through to the surface. Moving as fast as she could she decided to join Silverstream instead of Spike.
"Cold!" Scootaloo called out once she broke the surface "Oh so cold!" after taking a few breaths and shaking the wet mud oh her hands she realized something "Spike's has all out stuff doesn't he?" Scootaloo asked "Yeah, he took them right before we teleported, right Spike?" She asked looking around for him "Where is..." Scootaloo shook her arm once more than pointed straight down.
"Holding three heavy ass bags at the bottom." She responded. Silverstream looked at her in silence, then dunked her head to look down at him, the bottom was a good 13 feet down, Spike looked at her, his face reading a simple message
"Sup?" Silverstream stared at him in silence before activating her gem and turning into a seapony
"Don't worry, I'll get you to the surface," She said, grabbing him by the middle and carrying him to the surface, Spike gave her a salute as they swam up and, after getting a breath of fresh air, he sighed
"Oops, We missed the shore by Thaaaat much." Scootaloo looked around for a second
"Spike this is the middle of the pond," she said motioning around said pond
"Thaaaat much" He Repeated simply
"Silverstream can you help us?" Scootaloo asked
"On it" She replied grabbing the two by the waist and pulling them to shore, once the two where back on dry land and Silverstream was a Hippogriff again they sat on the ground
"Alright" Scootaloo began "we're going to need firewood, Spike..."
"Covered" Spike replied pulling out a small jar full of Blue Fire "Nether Fire" he explained, "A Fire that's warm but doesn't burn, is waterproof and..."
"Stop showing off how much you know about stuff and just set the dam fire up," Scootaloo said cutting him off and turning to Silverstream "You're in charge of scouting this unknown wild area for Dangers and ..."
"I can see Los Pegasus right over there," Silverstream said pointing to the large city floating over the tree line "And there's a cart path right there" She added, "I don't think this area is that that wild, in fact, I think this is a campground"
"Spike, what the hell man?" Scootaloo asked
"Oh I'm sorry, I just figured this was better than, oh I don't know, Facing the wrath of our parental guardians." He said in defiance as he pulled out several tea bags and a metal kettle "which we will have to do at the end of the Summer" He added as he set the fire on the ground and handed the kettle to Silverstream who happily filled it with water for him "And that's if they don't catch us, cause let's be real, we are so gonna end up on a wanted poster or something."
"Here you go Spikey," Silverstream said handing him the kettle, Spike put several tea bags in it and placed it on top of the jar
"My goodness, how untamed and wild we are" Scootaloo muttered as Spike made them tea.
"Relax Scootaloo" Spike responded, "I'd say in about a week we're all gonna be wishing for a lot more than just tea." Spike took a deep breath and blasted the kettle, causing it to begin whistling. Spike looked up to see Scootaloo several yards away.
"Little warning next time!" She yelled angrily "Could have hurt somepony"
"But you're the only pony here?" Silverstream responded she gasped and waved her hand's around "Unless there are ghost ponies around here!?"
"No Silverstream, it's an Equestrian expression" Spike corrected "It refers to everybody in the general reference of the conversation." Silverstream blinked at him.
"Then why don't they just say 'Everbody'?"
"Twilight's working on changing it" Spike replied
"But that just seems so..."
"Race selective?" Spike offered "yes, back in the old day's, Ponies where extremely racist."
"Hey!" Scootaloo defended as she walked back to the circle "I wasn't alive back then, don't blame me for my ancestor's sucking!"
"Don't worry," Silverstream said as she accepted a cup of hot tea from Spike "The School of Friendship proved that the ponies of current days are a lot better than before."
"Heck I prove it" Spike responded pouring Scootaloo a glass before blinking "I was accepted into pony culter when I...Wait why the hell are we talking about all this?"
"The conversation just kind of drifted" Silverstream responded, "Can I have some sugar?"
"Don't have any" Spike responded, "sorry, so what where we talking about then?"
"How much it's gonna suck when we go back to Ponyville" Silverstream responded, blowing on her hot cup
"Ah...Let's talk about something else."He said as he took a sip of his tea.
"Alright, let's make a plan," Scootaloo said taking out a soaking piece of paper and placing it under the jar "And let's get warm too, I'm soaking wet" She added as she rubbed her hands on the blue fire jar.
"One sec than," Spike said as he got up and walked to the woods surrounding the pond, returning with a fairly sized pile of sticks, he placed them down and opened the jar and dumped the fire onto the sticks, it spread immediately, swirling around on the sticks, but not burning them "Magic fire" he sighed as he placed his hands in it "Good way to save my breath" Scootaloo and Silverstream copied him and sighed in relief at the warmth
"Where did you get this?" Scootaloo asked as she placed her hooves in it and watched the wet mud crumble off.
"Luna gave it to me last year for Heart's Warming, Never thought I'd get a chance to use it, Spent a good hour in the attic trying to find it, was locked in a chest, inside a box, inside a safe, inside a bigger chest!" Spike shook his head as he picked some of the remaining mud of the tip of his tail. "Weirdest nesting doll game ever" as the trio began cleaning their legs of what remained of the mud, Scootaloo spoke up as she picked up the dry paper
"Ok, so first thing's first, how many bits's do we have altogether?" after a quick scramble to pull out their three respective piles of bits and count them they came up with a final counting of 1375 bits "dang Spike did you rob a bank?" Scootaloo asked looking at his 1197 bits
"I just don't get out much." He responded, "And I have two jobs, so yeah this was the final total of my last payday..."Spike sighed "Twilight is so gonna make me work off all the time I was gone for free" Scootaloo shrugged
"Alright, let's load our small fortune into the Firejar, Safest place If I do say so myself" once the bit's had been put away Scootaloo moved on "Alright, Locations to go?" She asked "We all have to Pick a place We've never been before! And we all have to Pinkie Promis, no matter how boring or scary, we will do it!' The Three all said in unison
"Cross my heart hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my eye!" The Promise set, the three began thinking of where to go.
"I never did get to see Starlight's town" Spike muttered
"Oh I want to Meet the Kirin, I heard they have a great selection of theaters!"
"Well I want to go someplace supper high, Really high, higher than Even Rainbow Dash has been, I'm not talking about 1,000 Hooves, not 2,000 or even 5,000 hooves, No, I'm going all the way, 10,000 Hooves in the air!" She felt Spike's gaze hit her
"Don't you dare!" He said angrily, " I Swear to Celestia if you say..."
"MY DESTINATION IS MOUNT EVERHOOF!" She cheered, there was a short moment of silence before Spike squinted at her
"Alright," Twilight said to Applebloom "Are you absolutely sure, you don't know where they're going?"
"I don't"
"And you don't know who orchestrated the event?"
"No," Applebloom responded
"Are you sure?" Twilight asked, "Cause you are not in trouble, and I'm sure whoever orchestrated the event made it sound like a grand time, they were probably very good at talking others into things, maybe their good with words? Maybe..."
"Twilight, Of the three who ran off, that description matches none of them" Applebloom cut in "Scootaloo make's thing's sound dangerous, Silverstream would make it sound explosive, and Spike was only in the clubhouse because he was literally dragged into the house." Applebloom got out of her chair "Now if you'll excuse me I have work to do, and even if I did know anything...I.AM.NOT.A.SNITCH!" She screamed out as she slammed the door behind her
"Dammit" Twilight muttered as she threw away her list, "She was the last one to interrogate"
"Next to her Rainbow sat awkwardly, across from them Sat Pinkie and Princess Skystar
"I can't believe this" Skystar muttered angrily
"Look It won't take long for us to find..."
"Not about that!" She interrupted "Why wasn't I told about Silverstream and Spike? Oh, I bet they're super cute together!"
"I feel like Spike wasn't willingly apart of the relationship" Rainbow cut in "mainly because she literally dragged him around like a doll"
"Uh, Yeah! That's how Hippogriffs work, we find a guy we like, we drag him around, and keep him forever, it's rare a male Hippogriff is ok with what's going on" She swooned "I bet he fought so hard to get away"
"We....we can talk about that later" Twilight said with a head shake
"Maybe Spike was pulled into the event against his will?" Pinkie tried
"Pinkie...Spike is Literally the only reason they go AWAY!" Twilight screamed angrily "HE IS IN SO MUCH TROUBLE WHEN I GET MY HOOVES ON HIM, I...I...I..."
"Alright let's calm down" Rainbow cut in "We need to think, where would they go? They all ran away right? So they must be going someplace their really not suppose to go." with that the Four continued arguing over what to do for the rest of the night
-3 hours later-
"Last Time I make such a stupid Pinkie Promis" Spike muttered as he sucked up the fire and spat it back into the jar "Alright, I'm stuck with this plan, but we are doing the mountain thing last!" he turned to Scootaloo, who was rolling up the gear they had used to lay back and just think about how fucked they were "And as soon as we get to the top we are using the Ponyville teleporting jar to go home and accept our fate."
"Fine, Once we reach Everhooves summit we can go home." Scootaloo agreed "So...where is Starlight's old town?"
"At the End of the Tracks," Spike responded
"Wait!" Silverstream cut in "I thought that's how we get to the Kirin's village?" she asked in confusion.
"No, no, no, That's a Different set of Tracks, there are a fair number of them after all." Spike responded happily "You see the tracks that end in The Hippogriff Kingdom also end at the forest the houses the Kirin's town, the ones that end in The Crystal Empire will take us to Starlight's town."
"Wait but how..?" Silverstream asked when Spike cut in an answered her question
"Those are just a few examples, if you take the right train and switch at the right points you could easily get from the Kirin's forest to Starlight's town in...oh...a few days..."
"Oh no!" Scottaloo cut in "We are not taking the Train!"
"Scottaloo!" Silverstream cut in angrily "You're interrupting Spike, he was in the middle of nerding out..."
"Yeah I was...wait...I Wasn't nerding out!" Spike said in his own Defence when Scootaloo shut them both up
"We have broken so many rules, and I know for a fact that both of those locations would require us to go threw ponyville, and what if one of the mane 6 were on the train going somewhere, or Trixie, or Starlight, or a crystal pony!"
"I'm sorry you had me till that last bit" Spike cut in
"Oh please, you don't think Twilight has called in all the stops to bring us, or at least you two, in?" She asked this was met with silence "So no Train, we walk, we swim, we don't fly cause Rainbow Dash and all that."
"And also because you can't?" Spike asked, earning a slap across the face
"Ow." Scootaloo cried out holding her hand
"What part of slapping a dragon felt like a good idea?" Spike asked he shut up when Silverstream grabbed his face and almost broke his neck making him look at her
"Oh, are you ok? do you need me to kiss it better?"
"No! Let go!" Spike responded tearing up the ground with his feet while trying to get away "I'm not consenting to any of this!"
"I know," Silverstream said in the voice you'd use to talk to a baby with "And it's adorable." Scootaloo chuckled as she watched Spike destroy the ground trying to get away
"How is this funny?" He demanded, turning his eyes to glare at her
"Cause there is no way to escape her, she can literally follow you anywhere."
"Not into Lava!" He shot back
"Oh don't be silly" Silverstream chuckled "I'd turn you into a fish and drag you into the sea as soon as you made any indication you'd try to." She smiled as Spike froze "But Don't worry, I'll turn you into a SeaDragon, not a Pufferfish! You only turned into that cause Auntie Nova had it set to pony mode, not suppose to hit more than one species at a time you know" She said holding up her crystal, Spike went slack in her arms
"How long to Hippogriffs live?" He asked
"Long" Silverstream replied happily "Every time we change into Seaponies and back it cuts our aging in half." she smiled "Same for any other creature it's used on" She added, Spike let out a very loud groan
"Noooo, I'm gonna live forever and be stuck with you for even longer!"
"Alright, enough hypothetical future non-sense" Scootaloo cut in "Everything packed, bellies full, how much Water we got?" Silverstream let go of Spike, who flopped to the ground and check
"we've got 13 bottled waters, 3 Cantines, and 1 hip flash of water for emergency use only!" she turned and looked down at Spike "Are you ok?" She asked
"Not even a little" he muttered through the dirt "But!" He added as he got up "I guess this is my cosmic punishment for doing the stalker thing to Rarity" he brushed himself off and pulled out the large map he had brought began marking their path. "Alright, so first we go here" Spike began muttering the word here a few more times marking locations on the map as he went on "and finally we go here before Starlight's town..."
"Why are we doing your thing first?" Scootaloo demanded, Spike looked over at her
"Cause I'm making the map" He responded before turning back to it and continuing "then we go here.."Spike repeated the here thing a few more times"...then the Kirin village, then we backtrack to that place, then that, place, then we take the train to..."
"What happened to no trains!?" Scootaloo cut in
"Look at that point, if we make it that far, we're gonna be exhausted and one of us might be dead and we will all be injured, I think if we make it that far we'd have earned a train ride to the hardest mountain to climb."
"Fair enough" Scootaloo added
"you're taking your probable death well" Silverstream noted
"Wha...he didn't specify..."
"He's a fire-breathing Dragon, and If thing gets too bad I can turn monsters into fish...and that leaves you, the flightless Pegasus.." The Trio sat in momentary silence
"Oh please!" Scootaloo finally shot back "There's no way he was talking about me! I'm the coolest one here!"
"To be fair" Spike jumped it "I was referring to Silverstream accident killing one of us with her death grip."
"I'd never hurt you Spike" Silverstream responded without hesitation
"What about that time two weeks ago when you dislocated my..."
"I re-set it!" She said immediately
"Alright, Alright!" Scootaloo said standing up "Enough of this, we need to get moving, Spike, what is our first destination?"
"First stop, Applelossa!" Spike declared, the two turned to him "it's either that or Ponyville, there the closest towns in walking distance."
"Dammit all, fine, TO APPLELOSSA WE GO!" Scootaloo declared as they finished packing up and began heading East to their destination
"Come on slowpoke, move faster!" Scootaloo said, "Honesty Spike I'm surprised your this slow."
"I Might move faster if I didn't have a Piggybacker" Spike responded as Silverstream tapped on his head.
"Oh, But isn't this just romantic, a couple on a long hard journey."
"oh yeah, me, you, and Scootaloo on a romantic getaway to walk across Equestria twice, and climb one of the most dangerous mountains in the world...all while being chased by a princess, how romantic." Silverstream sighed
"I love it when you break down a sentence and destroy all hope in the party around you."
"I don't do that." Spike huffed, they walked in silence for a second "Scootaloo do I do that?"
"Sometimes" she responded as she jumped over a log "But things always seem to end well, more or less."
"What? Why hasn't anyone ever sto..yeag!" Spike was cut off when he failed to consider Silverstreams wait and broke through the log, "Oh great." he sighed, he took a deep breath, "Ok ready." Immediately Silverstream grabbed his underarms and pulled him out, once he was free and set on the ground Spike stretched and gave her a thumbs up "Congratulations, you've succeeded in not pulling my arms out of their sockets." Silverstream cheered and hugged Spike with a crack
"Oh Yay!" She cheered as Spike sucked up the pain
"I only have myself to blame," he thought as Silverstream picked him up and flew to catch up with Scooaloo, who hadn't stopped when they had and was now at the edge of the woodlands they had been in for the last hour
"Hey!" Scootaloo said angrily "Can the flying, it's fine when we're under tree cover, but it'll take a while to cross this field, so lay low and..."
"That is a huge Crevas," Spike interrupted pointing to the large crack that ran through the land in front of them and ran into the woodlands beyond, the three looked at it in silence before Scootaloo clapped her hands together
"If we travel in that, we won't have to worry about being spotted." she shook her head with a smug looked "I'm such a genius."
"Um...Scootaloo" Spike interjected, "Not to be rude or anything, but that would make crossing the field even longer, not to mention we don't know why it's there, or if anything..." Silverstream put her finger to Spike's mouth.
"Now, Spike, This Trip was Scootaloo's idea, so until one of her plans blow up dramatically in our face, she's in charge, but once it does blow up I'm in charge!" with that said the Trio walked, or in Spike's case was dragged, to the Crevas, it was fairly deep, the Three would have to stand on each other shoulders just to see at ground level.
"Oh, this is perfect!" Scootaloo cheered as she attempted to climb down before she could Silverstream grabber her around the wait and did the same with Spike, flying down into the hole "Yeah...good call." Scootaloo cheered "Team effort all around."
"What the hell did I do?" Spike asked
"Without you, Silverstream wouldn't be here."
"Also Scootaloo would have been caught in the act of running by Pinkie, and would never have escaped without you, and she never would have gotten down here with our me, but we wouldn't be down here without her...so yeah, Team effort" Silverstream confirmed, she smiled at her speech but frowned when she realized Spike had walked away from them after receiving an answer to Scootaloo and was now looking at a small puddle. "Oh Dammit" She sighed, earning a pat on the back from Scootaloo "maybe try being less insane?" Silverstream smiled and patted Scootaloo
"Silly Scootaloo, if I do that than other girls might try and move in on him, if I scare them all away then I have nothing to worry about."
"Silver, I dought anypo...sorry, anybody is interested in Spike at the moment."
"Exactly! At the moment! We're all like 14, but by the time where all 18 I'm sure a few female Dragons will take interest, and I'm not taking any chances on..." the two jumped when Spike yelped, the two ran over to check out the problem, Spike had been standing on the edge of the puddle, unaware the puddle was a hole in the ground, the ground had given away and Spike was now thigh deep in the puddle.
"I'm impressed," Spike said, "I've survived Silverstream for the past 4 week's, and I've been defeated by a puddle."
"I can just pull you out!" Silverstream shot back "I'm not gonna be defeated by a puddle!" Fear shot threw Spike.
"Silverstream if you did that you'd break me in half," He said in fear attempting to push away from her, only to sink a small bit more "Oh for the, how deep is this muddy puddle!?" Spike demanded as he attempted to pull his legs out. Scootaloo put her hand in the water and pushed down
"Pretty deep, we might have to..oh crap" Scootaloo had sunk her arm above her elbow and couldn't pull it back out "Well shit, Silverstream remember us." Scootaloo said dramatically as she attempted to pull herself free "I'm joking, by the way, help me out, then we can help Spike out, and try not to dislocate my arm please."
"ok, I got this," Silverstream said as put her hand in the water and the two began slowly but surely removing her arm. meanwhile, Spike was looking around the Crevas they were in,
"Hey guys?" he asked suspiciously.
"Busy Spike," Scootaloo Responded as she began sliding her arm out of the mud
"Ok, but does this canvas remind you guys of a stream?" he looked around the bottom, eyeing multiple other puddles similar to the one he was stuck in.
"Don't be silly Spike, if this was a stream it'd be full of water," Silverstream added. Spike continued looking at their surrounding as with a pop the two freed Scootaloo.
"There, now for Spike." meanwhile half a mile upstream a Small group of ponies where standing in the same canvas as the trio, a large magic barrier keeping the water from the stream bottled up, the team had been called in to fix the filtration system that was used to suck in the streams water to be used for recreational use by a nearby resort.
"Alright boy's, everything should be working right as rain now, clear out so we can test the pipes!" the team were levitated out and the barrier was dropped.
"I'm serious" Spike said as his two companions began the process of pulling him free, "This looks just like the stream next to ponyville that time Twilight had to empty it to remove some plants from Everyfree that had poisoned the water, This place look's dry, but look at all these puddles, I know for a fact that Las Pegasus and the surrounding area's have been cleared for a dry spell to help push a few new water parks in the area."
"Spike stop being a worrywart, even if that was true, what are the odd's of them releasing the water at this exact moment in..." Scootaloo stopped when they all felt a loud rumble, The Two Girls turned and saw the wall of water fast approaching, Spike was incapable of looking at it but gave a good guess.
"There's a Giant wall of water coming right at us right now isn't there?"
"Yup," Scootaloo confirmed
"Fish Time!" Silverstream called out, making Scootaloo jump,
"Bring it on," Spike responded as Silverstream pulled out her crystal and engulfed the trio in its magic just as the wall hit them.
"Dammit all" Scootaloo said as she attempted to swim against the current, only to find that she and her friends where being thrown around like rag dolls, Silverstream was doing a good job of swimming with the current while at the same time not breaking the front of the wave, Scootaloo herself was stuck being pushed with the wave, her attempts to free herself resulting in her swirling around uncontrollably, Spike was having the worst luck ,he looked mostly the same, but his entire body was slightly translucent, his hands had become fin's, and his lower body was entirely his tail, the main problem he was having was that he seemed to no longer have a skeletal system and seemed to be entirely at the waters mercy.
"I preferred being a pufferfish!" Spike called out as he was caugh by the wave and thrown into the open air, only to be eaten by the wave and spat out again, after the 4th time Scootaloo tried to save him and instead ended up stuck in the same look as he was
"Silverstream Help!" Scootaloo managed to call before being tossed back out, she had a brief second to recognize the pain of being thrown hard into the rocky ground before being hit by the wall of water
"Just don't get caught in this stupid..." Spike managed to call before being vomited out, he collided with the ground and felt the pain of having his face collapse in on itself, he lay on the ground for a second before being swallowed again, once in the water his face snapped back into place "...Loop that we're stuck in!" Spike finished before being thrown back out, this time colliding with Scootaloo. the two fell back towards the ground, Silverstream watch this happen and made her move, she did a small flip and joined in the current, aiming low towards the ground, just as Scootaloo and Spike rejoined the wave she grabbed them both and changed herself back into a Hippogriff, using her feet she dug into the ground and the three managed to slow down enough to escape the shit show that was the front of the wave, letting them go Silverstream turned back into a Seapony as sighed as they where carried away with the current
"Well, that was a shit show." She said before turning to Spike
"Are you ok Spike?" she asked, Spike rubbed his face with his fins.
"Feel like Jello." He responded as he looked at himself "The heck, am I?"
"You're a Young Sea Dragon!" Silverstream said happily, "Your body's all goey and soft, but it's almost impossible to kill you, even if a monster got you in its mouth, it wouldn't be able to chew or Digest you!" Before Spike could respond to that they heard another loud rumbling noise, Spike sighed as he ponied behind him
"We're about to go over a Waterfall aren't we?" he asked
"Yup" Scootaloo said excitedly "Oh this is gonna be so cool, when I go back to school I'll get to say I got to Ride a flood wave and got washed down a Waterfall!" Spike turned to Silverstream
"Sharp Rocks at the bottom?" Spike asked
"Most likely" Silverstream confirmed as she tucked in on herself. Spike frowned as the Sound got louder and louder.
"Bring it on" Spike decided tucking into himself to as the sound defend him, he turned just in time for his head to break the surface, it was about a 40 foot drop down, Scootaloo Grabbed him and Silverstream and the Trio all screamed as they fell down the fall
Silverstream was the first one to resurface, she shook her head and looked around, Scootaloo floating silently at the bottom of the stream, and Spike had been splattered on impact and was in the middle of pulling the goo that was his body back together, Silverstream waited patiently for her friends as they floated away from the waterfall and down the stream.
"If I'm remembering my Geography correctly." Silverstream muttered as she looked around "This stream is the Ponyville stream, so if we ride down it and get off at the Train Bridge it'll be a straight shot to Applelossa." Spike gasped out as he broke the surface.
"Wrong!" He said as Scootaloo joined them. "this is the Ponyville Stream, but ponyville is upstream." He pointed behind them "We are currently on a direct course to the South Luna ocean."
"We're going the wrong way!?" Scootaloo demanded, "Why didn't you say that earlier!?"
"I knew where we were going! we where in the White Tail woods, getting swept away wasn't part of my plan, all we have to do is copy Silverstream's original plan and edit it slightly." Spike motioned up ahead "Downstream is a Train Bridge, we get out, and it'll be a straight shot to Los Pegasus, then we head to Gastel Gorge, go around the Everfree Forest-"
"Wait I thought we were avoiding Ponyville?" Silverstream interpret.
"-The Otherside of the Everfree forest." Spike added "Then we go to Applelossa, stay a day or two at an inn to rest up, then head to Dodge Junction, then we follow the stream through the Hayseed Swamps, Then do the tedious trek threw Baltimare and Filly Delphia, then when we reach Manehattan we follow the train and then we shall arrive at Starlight's old town." Spike nodded "And then the first third of our journey shall end."
"Holly shit!" Scootaloo said as she procced that "How the fuck are we going to do this!?"
"Oh don't worry." Silverstream said happily "The odds are we'll get caught by Twilight or get bounty hunted and delivered to her before we even finish the first half."
"Took the words right out of my mouth," Spike said with a nod. "But if you want we can just give up-"
"I'm no quitter!" Scootaloo replied splashing her hoof down, "Let fucking go!"
"Worth a shot," Spike replied with a shrug as he dove under and resurfaced belly up "Now we just have to wait till we spot the bridge,"
"Any clues?" Rainbow asked as she looked over the darted map full of possible locations of the runaways.
"Cadance said no sign of them, but she'll keep an eye out for them." Twilight said as she looked over the list "Ember hasn't responded yet, Thorax said he wasn't going to side against Spike's choice, Rutherford said this is just a Dragon thing and to let it go." Twilight rubbed her temples "And Celestia just wants to meet Spike's Girlfriend, Luna said she'd try to track them down in their sleep but no promises, so by the by..."
"We're pretty much on our own here," Rainbow said as she looked around the map, next to her Princess Skystar and Pinkie were putting darts in interesting locations,
"Oh don't worry Dashie," Pinkie said casually "Twilight will figure out the obvious way to tack them soon."
"What?" both Twilight and Rainbow asked in unison looking at her, Pinkie blinked.
"Well, you said they used A Teleportation potion right? the ones you made right? So just...go to where you keep them and locate the ones that are missing." Twilight stared at Pinkie slack-jawed. before face hoofing herself.
"I'm a Celestia damed idiot!" Twilight turned on the spot and B-lined it to her potion room with Rainbow right behind her, Twilight flipped threw some racks until she found the missing bottles. "Alright, he took 4, now which one would he have most likely have used?" Twilight pulled out her potion log and attempted to locate the missing potions.
"Oh, Celestia dammit." Rainbow sighed as she leaned against the wall "This is going to take a while."
The Trio floated in place as they looked at the sight in front of them, after a moment Spike spoke up.
"This isn't on any of the Map's I've seen." He said bluntly as they looked at the mess of a river in front of them, there were a total of 3 different splits in the stream, each flow away from Los Pegasus "this is always just a single stream that goes to the sea, what is this?"
"Guess you should have looked at some regional maps," Scootaloo replied as the looked at the crossroads. "I say we go right, it looks like after it bends it starts going straight again, the one in front looks like it's curving inland, and that other one looks like it was made by Ponies, not nature."
"Silverstream can you turn me or you back so we can fly up and..."
"No!" Scootaloo shot back "No flying, this is part of our adventure, a choice that could lead us on our way, or take us horribly out of the way."
"Well, I think we should take Pony made way." Spike said "Since it was made by ponies, it probably leads to a town.
"I think we should go straight." Silverstream added, "Casue that's the way the Bridge is supposed to be."
"But the forward path curves to the left!" Scootaloo shot back, the right one starts going right, then curves back forward, straight on towards the bridge."
"The left one will, straight-up, lead us to a town!" Spike shot back "Why take the risk of going not going the right way?"
"Spike is right." Silverstream decided "We should go the right way!"
"Ha!" Scootaloo laughed "You played yourself!" Spike muttered irritably as he followed the other two to the right path, "See it curves, then it goes straight!"
"And then it U-turns into the forest," Spike said pointing to the turn. Scootaloo floated in silence as they rounded the bend and where meet with a series of low dips, jagged rocks, and rapidly moving water.
"Oh, this is gonna be awesome." She said as they approached the danger.
The Trio were all breathing hard as they pulled themselves out of the stream and into the jungle.
"That sucked," Scootaloo declared as she looked down at a large bruise on her arm.
"Suck doesn't even being to cover that!" Spike snapped back "Where gonna have to set up camp here," his companions looked at him for a second before looking up at the sky.
"But it's barely even noon," Silverstream noted as she saw the sun still at its highest point in the sky.
"And by the time we get out of this Jungle it'll be nightfall," Spike stated as he put his bag on the ground.
"Hey I just realized something," Scootaloo said as she took her backpack off "I wasn't wearing this when I was a seapony,"
"Well yeah," Silverstream said with a laugh "Any material item you have on you when you transform is stored in the crystal, so it's not messed up by the change in environment,"
"Hey," Spike snapped at the two to get their attention "Save your exposition until after we've set up the camp,"
"Oh but I love exposition," Silverstream muttered as she and Scootaloo began unpacking their bedrolls.
-20 minutes later-
The Looked in awe at the mess camp they had made, it was very simple and somewhat dull, but it was effective, they had tried to set up the bedrolls, but the ground was far too muddy, so they had moved a little farther, and they had been met with one too many ant hills so they had improved and now a simple set of three Hammocks made out of sleeping bags hand between two trees each higher than the last. Scootaloo jumped into the bottom one, Silver took the middle one, and Spike claimed the top one due to him not wanting Silver to drop onto him in his sleep. Scootaloo got nice and comfy on her bedroll and gave a sigh of relief at the idea of going to sleep and began drifting off while Spike and Silver talked about expositional stuff, she felt her self drifting into dream when a relaxation hit her too late, she jolted up in the dream world and looked around for a moment before she began sweating.
"Oh no," she said when as a shadow appeared behind her, she turned and looked into the eyes of Princess Luna.
"Oh no indeed," Luna agreed "why don't we wait for the others before we begin our little talk," the two existed in silence for a Moment, Luna standing her ground in silence while Scootaloo shook in her dream hammock, she didn't have to wait for long before Silverstream's hammock popped into existence, Before anything could be said she popped up with a worried look.
"We forgot about Luna," She cried out before looking from Scootaloo to the Princess and giving a guilty smile.
"Indeed you did," Luna agreed as Spike appeared and popped up.
"Hey," he said casually.
"Hey," Luna greeted with a smile before looking down at Scootaloo, there was a solid moment of silence before the Princess smiled at them, a spark of mischief gleamed in her eyes,"
"So...tell me how your quest has gone so far,"
Luna was laughing herself silly once they had finished telling the story.
"Oh Spike, my dear nephew, me and Tia would be honored to shelter you from Twilight when this is all said and done,"
"What about me...I mean us," Scootaloo demanded motioning to herself and Silver.
"You two did this voluntarily, you just dragged poor Spike here, quite literally, along for the ride," Scootaloo made to say something closed her mouth, tried again then scratched her chin.
"Yeah," she admitted with a sigh "Spike did not agree in any way to do this,"
"I'm fine with this," Silverstream replied happily "Just me, Spike, and Scootaloo, going on a quest doomed to fail," Luna chuckled.
"Ah, yes I don't imagine it's very likely you'll make it to the top of mount every hoof, but I think you can make it to Starlight's old town, altho the townfolks might end up turning you in.
"I'm fine with that," Spike replied with a shrug.
"We'll make it," Scootaloo replied with a determined look in her eye, "The look on Rainbow Dashes face when she finds out I made it to the top of Mountever hoof, the looks on my friend's faces," Spike and Silver looked at Scootaloo and both seemed to be thinking something, Luna looked to Silver expecting her to say something, but much to the groups surprise it was Spike who spoke up,
"It would be nice," he admitted "Twilight's done a lot of amazing things, but to be able to say I climbed to the summit of Mount Everhoof without any magical help..." Spike smiled and looked to Scootaloo, for the first time since he had been dragged along with them he looked excited "...it would be nice,"
"Let's do it!" Silverspoon cried out"
"I thought we already agreed to do it?" Scootaloo complained to her companions, who both looked to her for a moment.
"Yeah," Spike agreed "But I didn't think for a second we'd make it that far,"
"Same," Silver agreed "Heck it's still super unlikely, but I can at least promise you that I'll try my hardest to get us all there,"
"Yeah," Spike agreed "So what if we're totally boned once this is all said and done, the memory of us doing it, or at least the memories we make along the way before we get caught, will be worth it, We could even make a friend or to along the way," Scootaloo smiled as he two travel companions finally began getting as pumped as she was about their quest Luna sat silently and watched then make their plans before slinking away, leaving them in the joined dream so they could use their sleeping hours to plan out their next day.
"It might not be the most responsible thing to leave them to their own devices," She said to herself as she awoke from the sleeping world, she made her way to her dresser and after a few minutes pulled out an old crystal ball, she shook it a few times, using the dream world as he guide, and quickly saw the sleeping images of the trio in their makeshift hammocks shimmering in it "So I guess I better keep an eye on them,"
