> Nightmare World > by FandomPlays1234 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue: Welcome to the Dream World > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- He didn't know why it had to be him. For the past week he had trouble sleeping and now he was a victim. He didn't know how it happened or why now of all times. But now Fandom was trapped in this nightmare realm. This was supposed to be the dream world and of course SOMEONE had to go and ruin it for everyone. Seriously who was this asshole jerk dark lord that everyone kept mentioning. But hey at least he was a powerful mage now so he would gladly kick this dipshit's ass. Fandom looked at his hand as the memory came back to him. It all began back in the human world when cases of six children suddenly fell into a coma like state. But because they were kids, Fandom didn't think it would affect teens. Now he jinxed it and was stuck in this terrible world. Not only that but his insomnia was back in this world as well. He lay in bed and tried to think about what she said when they first met. 48 hours earlier Fandom groaned as he rolled over to the left side of his bed. But it seemed like his dog wasn't going to leave him alone anytime sooner. Seriously it was 3 in the morning, too early for taking him out. "Later Buster," Fandom moaned. "Wake up," a voice whispered. What the hell? Did his dog just talk? Fandom rolled over towards the voice and opened his eyes slightly to see a white blur. Ok something was definitely off. He didn't have a Maltese let alone one that was almost the size of a human. "Wakey, wakey," a female voice cooed. Who the hell was talking to him. Summoning up his strength, Fandom slowly sat up and yawned. "Geez what time is it?" asked Fandom. "It's time for you to wake up that's for sure," answered a female voice. Fandom looked behind him to see a goat wearing a white T-shirt under and green hoodie. She was wearing long black pants and had a yellow flower in her fur next to her right horn. She was smiling and looking at him with her green eyes. Fandom stared at her for a moment before jumping up. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to scare you," said the goat. "Yeah like hell I would believe that!" yelped Fandom. "Who are you anyway and why are you in my room?" "You're room?" asked the goat confused. She giggled. "Oh silly you're not in the human world anymore Fandom," "Wait what how do you know my name?" asked Fandom. "Oh I know a lot about you Fandom," said the goat slowly walking up to him. She pressed her paw against his chest. "As for my name, I'm Asriel Dreemurr," She took a step back and winked. "Wait hold up, Asriel Dreemurr as in like THE Asriel Dreemurr?" asked Fandom. "Like the one from Undertale?" 'Oh so you DO know," said Asriel. "Well I mean I DID play it, but wait what are you doing out of your game?" asked Fandom. "And I'm pretty sure the last time I checked, Asriel was a boy," "Well this IS the Dream World so technically anything can happen here," said Asriel. Fandom stared at her dumbfounded. "Right I'm sure everything will make sense once I explain everything," "Yeah, I bet it will," said Fandom. "Alright but it's a lot to take in so be prepared," said Asriel. As Fandom's pulse began to slow, he took a seat in front of Asriel as she began explaining. "First things first, I should probably mention that you are one of the seven victims who fell under the coma like state when you fell asleep back in the human world," "Wait seven?" asked Fandom. "You DO know about how children in the human world are suddenly falling into a coma-like state after they fall asleep right?" asked Asriel. "Yeah but to think there's seven of us," said Fandom. "It is surprising to hear, but that's only the beginning," said Asriel. "The reason why I'm out of my game is because I escaped," said Asriel. "Wait what do you mean by escaped?" asked Fandom. "If you think something strange was going on with the sudden coma-like state incident then you'd be right," answered Asriel. "However it's not just the human world that's suffering from these weird incidents, the Dream World you're in right now has been corrupted by some dark magic that's transforming the residents of different worlds into horrific monstrosities," "What do you mean?" asked Fandom. "The Dream World is a dimension that allows one to be whatever they want whenever they want and go to places they can only go in their dreams, these includes other worlds from different video games, anime, and vice versa," explained Asriel. "But that dark magic I explained earlier corrupted the dream world and has spread into the other worlds you can reach from here," "So what you're saying is that this dark magic not only corrupted the world itself but the residents of those world as well?" asked Fandom. Asriel nodded. "I think I get it now, but if the dream world is corrupted, wouldn't that mean everything inside is corrupted as well?" "Why are we still ok?" "Perhaps my determination is too powerful that it repelled this dark magic," said Asriel. "You on the other hand is a different story," Fandom cocked his head in confusion. "What do you mean?" asked Fandom. "Well when I ran into you I could easily tell that you were one of the possessed souls so I took the liberty of freeing you from your Necro Guardian," answered Asriel. "My what?" asked Fandom. "Necro Guardians are demonic entities that guards the seven souls by possessing them," answered Asriel. "Normally they just look like the souls they possessed but once they show their true forms, you'll know that you've found your target," "I'm guessing since you freed me from my Necro Guardian there's only six left right?" asked Fandom. "Yes, however these entities aren't exactly corporeal so they won't reveal their true identity unless a soul powerful enough to face them shows up," explained Asriel. "And me?" asked Fandom. Asriel smiled," As a human you may not be able to stand a chance against these Necro Guardians, but here you can do and be anything you want, normally I would've gone to free the remaining six souls myself, but even I have my limits," explained Asriel. "And besides this is your best chance to show this cute princess what it's really like to have their own knight in shining armor," A chill ran up Fandom's spine as Asriel touched his cheek. Your majesty please, normally that would be your role," said Fandom averting is gaze. "Besides even if you were a female now, Frisk would be your guardian," 'That would be the case if it wasn't for those damn Necro beasts," Asriel said gloomily. "Necro what?" asked Fandom. "Necro beasts are similar to Necro Guardians but slightly weaker," explained Asriel. "Unlike them, they are corporeal and beatable," "Still they are powerful enough to possess other creatures to help carry out their missions," "Are there seven of them like the guardians?" asked Fandom. "No these are like the typical warriors or servants to the Guardians," answered Asriel. "The common enemy that you would normally see in video games, they come in many different shapes and sizes and can shape shift and mimic other life forms," "Sounds like something that would appear in my nightmares," said Fandom. The gloomy look on Asriel's face vanished and was replaced by her warm smile as she walked around him and wrapped her arms around him as she embraced him. "Fandom, it would make this princess very happy if you helped me recover and return those souls to their owners," cooed Asriel. "Your majesty please, even if this is the dream world, I'm not cut out to be a hero," said Fandom. She quickly grabbed him by his shoulders and spun him around so that he was facing her. Fandom stared up at her blushing as she took his hands. "Please," Asriel pleaded making a puppy dog face. Fandom felt his heart racing as he stared into Asriel's cute green eyes. "Alright you win," sighed Fandom. "Yay!" Asriel chirped jumping up with joy. "I can't resist a cute face like that," chuckled Fandom. "So now what?" "Well first things first, you'll need some way to fight," answered Asriel. "Ok," said Fandom. The two fell silent as they stared at each other. "Well?" "Hmm something wrong?" asked Asriel. "Aren't you going to teach me how to fight?" asked Fandom. Asriel suddenly burst out into laughter as Fandom stared at her in confusion. "You don't need me to teach you, this is the dream world remember?" giggled Asriel. "Oh right, be anything I want," said Fandom. He scratched his chin as he pondered about what is form of combat would be. That's when he remembered that he had created a fictional character when he was little kid. He decided to use that idea and combine it with some other skills to make thing interesting. After some time of thinking he eventually came up with something he was proud of. 'You got something kid?" asked Asriel sliding her paws in her hoodie pocket. Fandom took a deep breath and focused his thought on his character. A bright light enveloped the area as Fandom's body began to glow. When the light died down, Fandom was seen wearing a black cloak. A small diamond was encased in a small pendant that was attached to the neck of the cloak. "Wow you look great!" chirped Asriel. "Thank you your majesty," said Fandom. "Oh come now, you don't have to be THAT formal, just call me Asriel," said Asriel. "So what form of combat did you choose?" "Well I figured I would do a slight combination of magic," answered Fandom. The diamond suddenly began to glow red as Fandom held out his hand. Suddenly a medium sized fire ignited above his hand. Asriel watched in awe as the diamond slowly changed to blue, green, yellow, brown, teal, and black. Each time the color changed something different would happen. First water would slowly rise up from the ground, then large vines would suddenly sprout followed by electricity shooting out of Fandom's hand, large rocks bursting out of the ground, a chilling wind surrounding Fandom as he moved around creating snow and ice, and a shadowy aura pouring out of his body. "Amazing elemental magic," said Asriel. "Yeah but I feel bad for this next one," said Fandom. 'Why?" asked Asriel. Fandom held out his hand as a familiar canid skull suddenly appeared next to Fandom. "Tell Sans I'm sorry," Fandom laughed nervously. 'Don't worry I'm sure he won't mind that you copied him," said Asriel. "What else can you do?' "Well I can change forms to look like other creatures," answered Fandom. "A shape shifter, like the Necro Beasts," said Asriel. "Yeah but don't worry I won't hurt you," said Fandom. Asriel smiled. "I can also use telekinesis, open portals, summon beasts, heal wounds and other terrible conditions, etc," "Geez is there anything you CAN'T do?" asked Asriel. "Hey this is the dream world remember?" asked Fandom. "Alright you got me," said Asriel. "So what now asked?" Fandom. "Follow me," answered Asriel. Fandom shrugged as he ran after his new companion. > Chapter 1: Meet Nexus > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Fandom, wake up cutie," cooed Asriel. Fandom groaned as he swatted away her paw in his sleep. Smiling, she gently poked him on the nose. Fandom slowly opened his eyes as he sat up. "Morning sleepy head," Fandom yawned and scratched his eyes as he looked over. Asriel slowly sat up not taking off her eyes on him. "Ugh Asriel please you gotta stop waking me up," said Fandom touching his face. "Well you DID look cute in your sleep," said Asriel. "Please Asriel, stop talking as if I'm your significant other," said Fandom. "And are you planning to wash that T-shirt?" Asriel looked down at her white T-shirt she was wearing. "Oh darling, this isn't from yesterday's, I DO have extra T-shirts you know?" giggled Asriel. "And let me guess, they're all white?" asked Fandom getting out of bed. "Hey it matches my white fur," said Asriel. "Or is that you're just that you like my fur better than my shirt?" "Asriel!" Fandom hissed as he blushed. "I'm joking!" laughed Asriel. "But you know you don't have to be shy, you just have to ask," "Not interested," said Fandom walking towards the bathroom. Asriel sighed as she got out of bed. Fandom returned with a toothbrush in his mouth and walked over to the closet and pulled out his cloak. "Is it alright if I take a shower real quick?" asked Asriel. "Go ahead," answered Fandom brushing his teeth. After getting everything ready for the day, Asriel and Fandom walked down to the hotel's cafe and ate a quick breakfast before packing. After breakfast, returned to their rooms to finish preparations. "Ready," said Asriel. Fandom looked over to see her wearing a white sweatshirt under a black run vest. this time she had blue pants instead of the black ones from yesterday. "Isn't it going to be hard fighting in that?" asked Fandom slipping on his cloak. "I'll be fine," answered Asriel. "Not judging," said Fandom adjusting the neck piece. Once they were ready, they dropped off their room key at the front desk and walked out. The sky was dark as the moon shined down. Fandom had forgotten that it was permanent night until things were returned to it's original state. "This way," Asriel called out to him. Fandom sighed as he followed after Asriel. After walking for some time they eventually reached a small building in the middle of nowhere. Asriel began punching in a code on a panel near the doors as the door opened. "Come on," said Asriel waving him in. Fandom hesitantly entered the building as Asriel followed him in. "Where are we?" asked Fandom. Looking around he noticed that they were standing on a ramp and below them was several pieces of strange equipment on one side of the room. Looking straight ahead were several screens that ran all the way down where several computers were on. "You're back," a voice spoke up. Fandom looked up to see a man in a lab coat walking up to them. He had a grey shirt underneath his lab coat and was wearing black pants. His had short brown hair and black eyes that stared at the two intently. "Fandom this is Professor Nexus," said Asriel. "So you're one of the seven souls are you?" asked Nexus. "Yes sir," answered Fandom. "I bet it was no easy feat trying to free him," Nexus chuckled looking at Asriel. "Welcome to my lab Fandom, this is where I monitor and study all the events that goes on in the dream world," "The entire dream world from in here?" asked Fandom. "That's right," answered Nexus. "The dream world was such a wonderful place, but after HE came into the picture everything lost it's beauty," "He?" asked Fandom. "The true evil, responsible for turning this world into a nightmare," answered Nexus. "Zalgo," Fandom's eyes widened. The name of the demonic entity that lives behind the wall of humanity's sanity. "Zalgo?" repeated Fandom. "DO you perhaps know something about him?" asked Nexus. "He was well known back in the human world," answered Fandom. "To think he would be here of all places," "Well he isn't called the one who waits behind the wall for nothin," said Nexus. "Toying with the human's sanity, he can easily control their behavior through their dreams," explained Nexus. "As a doctor studying humanity's dreams, it's my duty to find out why he's become active now of all times," "That's when I met him," said Asriel. "Asriel told me she escaped her game after Zalgo's manifestation spread into Undertale and corrupted the character files turning them into zombie like entities," explained Nexus. "The Necro Beasts," said Fandom. "They CAN be saved yes, however it's not that easy," said Nexus. "During my research I've learned that these beasts cannot be eradicated and that they will continue to regenerate even after death," "But we can't save the possessed characters unless the Necro Beasts are destroyed," added Asriel. "Then what do we do?" asked Fandom. "Destroy the source, find the one who's giving them the power and rid of it from the world," answered Nexus. "By destroying the source, we can repel against Zalgo's dark magic that are emitted from the source itself," "And the source is?" asked Fandom. "The Necro Guardians," answered Asriel. "However if any normal individual enters a corrupted world, they will alert the Necro Beasts nearby and they will get possessed themselves, however a soul who's determination is powerful enough to repel Zalgo's dark magic cannot be possessed or affected," explained Nexus. "That's me," said Fandom. "But I was possessed by a Necro Guardian when I came to this world," "That was a Necro Guardian, sure they have Zalgo's dark magic, but even if you're determination is strong, if a Necro Guardian has enough dark magic they can still possess the victim," explained Nexus. "But a Necro Guardian can't possess another soul if they have one in control," said Asriel. "Because the other six Guardians have souls, the least they can do is afflict harm on you using the current soul," added Nexus. "But what if my Necro Guardian comes back?" asked Fandom. "The chances are slim but, if Zalgo's dark magic isn't completely gone from Necro Guardian, they WILL regenerate," answered Nexus. "But no worries dear, I made sure that wretched demon doesn't come back," Asriel said winking as she wrapped her arms around Fandom. Normally Fandom would feel uncomfortable when she flirted with him but this time he felt relieved. "Thanks Asriel," said Fandom patting her head. Asriel purred as she nuzzled her face into his shoulder. Fandom smiled and blushed as he rubbed her head and ears. "Aww such a cute couple you two make," cooed Nexus. "Wait what?" asked Fandom. "Isn't he so adorable when he's flattered?" asked Asriel. "Adorable!?" Fandom stuttered. "Well now this is perfect, you should take her out sometimes, I know a place or two that serves good dishes," said Nexus. "Please Professor, it's not like that," said Fandom averting his gaze. "Well if you ever change your mind don't hesitate to ask me," said Nexus. "Yeah, um I'll think about it," said Fandom. "Anyway back on topic, if you're going to save everyone you should probably start heading over to Equestria first," suggested Nexus. "It's the closest world from here and I'm sure they'll be happy if you go assist them right away," "Understood," said Fandom. "Asriel knows where to go, just follow her and you should be able to reach it without having to deal with any beasts for now," said Nexus. "Lead the way Asriel," said Fandom. "Ok!" chirped Asriel. She grabbed Fandom's hand and quickly led him out the lab. This was going to be one crazy adventure. > Chapter 2: Nightmare Night > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moonlight poured down into Equestria illuminating Canterlot down below. The streets of the capital was silent for not a single soul made sound. A rainbow colored portal suddenly appeared as Fandom walked out with Asriel behind him. The portal vanished leaving the two in the silent streets of Canterlot. "So this is it," said Fandom. "Yeah but it's awfully quiet, I would've expected at least one Necro Beast to be wandering around," said Asriel. "Let's go walk around to see if we can find anyone," suggested Fandom. The two began strolling around to see if they could find anyone but only silence filled the streets. They had encountered several fresh corpses of ponies with colorless grey coats with empty eye sockets and gaping mouths lying on the ground twitching as they moaned. "Geez they're like zombies," said Fandom. "Perhaps someone already took care of them?" suggested Asriel. "Yeah but who would have enough determination to stand up to these creeps?" asked Fandom. Asriel suddenly placed her paw over his mouth. "Do you hear that?" whispered Asriel. Fandom listened closely and sure enough, somewhere n the distance the sounds of slashing flesh could be heard. "Let's go check it out," said Asriel. Fandom followed after her as she led the two towards the noise. The two raised their guards as they slowly approached the sound. They quickly hid behind a nearby building and peeked out to see a blue mare in black armor swinging a large scythe as a horde of Necro Beasts surrounded her. She had a white crescent moon mark on her flank and her mane and tail was the same color as the night sky. "Is that?" asked Fandom. "Yes, it must be the one that took down those Necro Beasts we ran into earlier," answered Asriel. Fandom watched as the mare dropped her scythe as she gasped. She had been badly injured and looked exhausted. "She needs to get out of there," said Asriel. "Either that or we go out," said Fandom. "Wait what?" asked Asriel. She watched as Fandom stepped out and walked over to the mare. She watched as Fandom approached the mare. "Hey assholes!" Fandom called out to them. The mare and the horde of Necro Beasts turned their attention towards Fandom. "Why don't you go picking someone your own size?" "A human!?" gasped the mare. Suddenly one of the beasts lost interest in the mare and began walking towards Fandom. "Hmm nice try, but wrong answer," said Fandom. He held out his hand as a fireball ignited in the palm of his hand. The beast let out a deep growl and charged at Fandom. Asriel yelped and covered her eyes, but Fandom swiftly dodged the beast's clamping jaws and kicked it away knocking it back. He thrusted his hand forward as the fireball flew into the beast setting it ablaze. The beast growled as it tried to escape the flames but Fandom slowly picked it up using his telekinesis and hurled the beast into a nearby fountain. "Boom bitch," snickered Fandom. The horde immediately turned their focus on Fandom and slowly began approaching him avoiding the mare. "So that's how you wanna play it," Fandom got into battle stance ready to take on the horde when suddenly a shower of stars rained down on the horde sending them flying in every direction. Confused Fandom looked behind him as Asriel ran up to him. "You didn't forget about me did you?" asked Asriel. "I'm glad you're my friend," laughed Fandom. The dust cleared as the horde was found scattered around the area. "Geez trying to take my portion of fun?" asked Fandom. "Sorry, guess I overdid it," apologized Asriel blushing. "Hey uh thanks for that," said the mare walking up to them. "Don't thank us, we're just doing what's right," said Fandom. "I am Princess Luna, princess of the night," said the mare. "Fandom, and this my friend Asriel Dreemurr," said Fandom. The three looked behind them to find the Necro Beasts slowly regenerating. "Ugh these things," growled Luna. "Princess do you know any place we can hide?" asked Fandom. "Afraid not, these things are everywhere," answered Luna. "Let's head back to the lab for now," suggested Asriel. "Princess get close we're getting out of here," said Fandom. Luna looked as Asriel huddled next to Fandom and decided not to ask questions. Luna scooted up next to them while still facing the Necro Beasts. Fandom closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Teleport to lab," said Fandom. Before she knew it, Luna found herself standing in front of a small building she didn't recognize. 'Where are we?" asked Luna. "Somewhere safe that's for sure," answered Fandom. He waited as Asriel tapped on the keypad and opened the door. "This way," said Asriel. Luna hesitantly followed the two into the building. "Too early to be coming here don't you think?" asked Nexus. Luna looked over to see another human wearing a white lab coat over a grey shirt. "Sorry Nexus, we had a Necro Beast problem over there," said Fandom. "And so you came running back?" asked Nexus sipping tea from his cup. "Look, we found someone and she isn't in good condition," said Fandom. "It wouldn't hurt to let her rest up," "Alright you've convinced me," said Nexus. "Um sorry to interrupt but can somebody explain to me what's going on?' asked Luna. So Fandom, Asriel, and Nexus took turns explaining the situation to Luna. "And that's pretty much the core of it," said Asriel. Luna leaned her Scythe against the railing as she wiped off a bead of sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief. "This is hard to believe," said Luna. "Hard to believe or not, it's the truth," said Nexus. "So do you know where these remaining six souls are?" asked Luna. "No, but we better find them fast before Zalgo decides to take this up to a whole new level," answered Asriel. "We of course will be going back out there, but what about you?" asked Fandom. Luna thought about it for a moment. If what these three are saying is true, then this Zalgo is not a force to be trifled with. He may not be doing anything at the moment, but she couldn't just sit around and wait for someone to take care of this mess. Her sister was in trouble and if this Zalgo was behind all this then she certainly couldn't just stand around. "Alright I'll go," said Luna. "Well then I suggest you take a break before you go back out there," said Nexus. "You're going to want to rest up and nobody can fight on an empty stomach," Nexus walked down the ramp and onto the floor beneath them as Fandom, Asriel, and Luna followed after him. He was right, Fandom was starving and he couldn't fight without eating anything.
