> First Week of Summer > by Zenyattaluver677 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Day 1 - How Do You Deal With That > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was around twelve o'clock in the afternoon and the girls who were formerly known as The Dazzlings, were all currently enjoying their first day of summer vacation. Adagio Dazzle the oldest of the three, was in the living room sitting in her reclining chair and was browsing through the TV channels to find something to watch, Aria Blaze, the second oldest, was also in the living room, but, she was lounging on the couch and playing a game on her phone and Sonata Dusk, the youngest, was sitting on the floor in the living room and was playing with about four of her toy horses she'd brought up from downstairs. After a few minutes went by, Sonata got bored of playing with her toy horses so she walked over to the couch, sat down and then cuddled up to Aria and began to watch Aria play the game that she was playing on her phone, resting her head on her older sister's left shoulder as she did. "I'm bored Ari." Sonata said a few minutes later. "What do you want to do then?" Aria asked her younger sister as she paused her game and looked down at her. "I don't know." Sonata answered, glancing at the TV for a second and them back at her older sister. "Why don't you ask Adagio if you can watch your cartoons for a while, she's had the TV all morning." Aria whispered, pointing to Adagio who was sitting in her reclining chair and watching the TV. "Dagi." Sonata said, turning to look at her oldest sister. "What do you want?" Adagio flatly asked, turning her head to look at her youngest sister with a flat expression. "C-Can I watch my cartoons for a while?" Sonata asked, looking away from Adagio as she did. "No, I'm watching one of my shows right now. You can wait." Adagio answered, looking back at the TV screen. "You've had the TV all morning though." Sonata exclaimed, sitting up and looking at Adagio again. "Sonata. You can wait your turn!" Adagio loudly replied, glaring at Sonata as she crossed her arms across her chest. "Fine!" Sonata loudly exclaimed, glaring back at Adagio while getting herself worked up. "Sonata come with me." Aria softly said, getting up from the couch and reaching out her hand for Sonata to take it when she saw that her younger sister was working herself up. Sonata took Aria's hand and followed her out of the living room, the reason Aria was taking her away from the living room was because Sonata was working herself up because of the argument her and Adagio were currently in, and because Sonata had anxiety, she sometimes didn't realise when she was getting worked up and should stop arguing about something. It was the same thing that happened when Sonata got frustrated about something but wouldn't take a break from it and keeps going until the point where she's so worked up that she'll either start crying or she'll slip into an anxiety/panic attack. Aria quietly and calmly led Sonata into the laundry room, mainly because it was the closest room and was away from Adagio. It was also quiet in the laundry room so Aria would be able to calm Sonata down and be able to communicate better with her, once they were in the laundry room, Aria turned to her younger sister and reached over and began to gently rub her sister's left shoulder with her right hand to help her calm down. "Ari, she wouldn't let me watch TV." Sonata exclaimed, gently wrapping her arms around her older sister's waist and leaning into her. "Shh, I know she wouldn't. Just forget about that for a minute while you calm down ok." Aria softly said, gently hugging her sister back and rubbing her back, which was also to help her calm down. Sonata buried her face into her older sister's right shoulder while she began to take deep breaths to calm herself down, since she'd begun to hyperventilate when she'd been arguing with Adagio, that was the reason Aria'd known she was getting to worked up and why Aria'd taken her out of the living room. After calming herself down for a minute, Sonata looked back up at her older sister and smiled at her, Aria returned the smile before she began to softly talk to her younger sister. "Nata, you know you shouldn't argue like that." Aria softly said, reminding her sister that she shouldn't argue with Adagio like she had because of her anxiety. "She started the argument though." Sonata quietly explained, gesturing to the hall with her free hand as if she were gesturing to Adagio. "I know she did, but you know how bad your anxiety is and you also know that one of two thing will eventually happen when you get worked up like that." Aria slowly explained so she wouldn't freak her younger sister out, even though her younger sister knew what she was talking about. "I know Ari, I'm sorry." Sonata replied, looking away from her older sister and down at the laundry room floor. "It's ok. Now, I'm going to head back to the living room, you can either come with me or go do something else until Adagio's done watching her show on the TV." Aria explained as she walked towards the laundry room door and turned to look at her younger sister before leaving the laundry room. "I'm going to go up to my room." Sonata said, walking over to Aria and stopping in front of her older and very protective sister. "Ok, that's fine. Come down and get me if you want or need anything." Aria softly replied, smiling at her younger sister as they both left the laundry room. "Ok." Sonata said, returning Aria's smile before heading upstairs to her bedroom. Aria watched Sonata head up the stairs before she continued to walk back to the living room at the end of the hallway, when she got to the living room, she sat back down on the couch and grabbed her phone. After grabbing her phone, she went back to lounging on the couch, unlocked her phone and then resumed to play her game she'd been playing before she'd calmed Sonata down. "I don't understand how you deal with that little brat every single day. She's annoying." Adagio exclaimed to Aria when she noticed Aria back on the couch. "Adagio she's not a brat, and she's not annoying. She just has anxiety, that's all, and I'm able to deal with her everyday because I only think about her having anxiety when she's upset or wants something, any other time, I think of her as a normal person, just like you and me." Aria explained flatly, pausing her game to look over at Adagio. "Where is she anyways? I wasn't done talking to her yet." Adagio asked, saying she still needed to talk with Sonata about who's turn it was for the TV. "She's in her room, besides, I don't need you making her work herself up anymore than she already did. That's not something she can just do like you and me." Aria answered, going back to her game and unpausing it again. "What do you mean she can't do that like we can? It's something everyone's mind takes care of." Adagio asked, confused as to what Aria'd just told her and trying to convince her otherwise. "Exactly. Her mind is different than ours, since she has anxiety, it's really easy for her to work herself up, but then it's really hard for her to just simply take a deep breath while in a argument like you two were in and just calm down. She has to be removed from the area or room that's stressing her out in order for her to calm down." Aria explained again, hoping Adagio would eventually get and understand what she was saying. "Oh, whatever." Adagio replied, shrugging off what Aria'd said and going back to look at the TV. Aria rolled her eyes and then went back to playing her game, ignoring both Adagio and the show Adagio was watching on the TV, since it was something that she didn't really like and that wasn't appealing to her. Making a mental note to herself to check on Sonata in about ten minutes to see how she was doing. > Day 2 - Stop Being A Baby > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was the second day of the girls summer vacation, it was about 11:30 in the morning and Adagio'd just finished cleaning the kitchen up from that morning's breakfast. Aria was playing a game on her phone and lounging on the couch in the living room and Sonata had gone downstairs to the basement to play with her toys that were in her playroom. Adagio walked into the living room from the kitchen through the little doorway that connected the living room to the kitchen, there was a doorway on the far side of the living room from where Adagio'd entered and that one connected the living room to the hallway. She walked over, sat down in her reclining chair, grabbed the remote off the arm of her reclining chair and turned on the TV to try and find something to watch that appealed to her, looking first to see if one of her shows was on that day. When she saw that none of her shows were on, she switched to the movie channels and began to look through the three movies that were currently on, two were horror movies, one called Hush and one called Lights Out, there was also a little kid's movie on, it was called Nine Lives. "Ooh, this looks interesting." Adagio said after reading the description on one of the horror movies. "What looks interesting?" Aria asked, pausing her game and looking over at Adagio. "This horror movie, it's called Lights Out. Want to watch it?" Adagio explained, turning to Aria and asking her younger sister if she wanted to watch the horror movie. "What's it about?" Aria asked again, not really wanting to watch the movie if it was about something she found stupid. "It looks like it's about these two kids, a brother and a sister, who are experiencing some sort of supernatural entity that's out to get their whole family." Adagio answered after reading over the description of the movie again to sum it up and explain it easily. "Sure, why not." Aria answered, turning off her phone and setting in on the side table beside the couch that was behind her at the moment because she was lounging on the couch. Forgetting at the moment that Sonata would get scared if she came upstairs and saw the movie. Adagio clicked on the channel that the movie was on and her and Aria began to watch it, neither of them noticing when Sonata walked up the basement stairs and began to walk towards them in the hallway a few minutes later because she wanted something and was going to ask Aria to get it for her because it was something she wouldn't be able to reach on her own. When Sonata walked through the doorway and into the living room, she looked to see what was on the TV and immediately regretted it when she saw something scary happen, since she'd entered quietly, neither of her sisters knew she was there. Sonata quickly knelt down, crawled over to the couch and didn't bother to give warning before she climbed onto the couch and huddled up to Aria, her older and protective sister. "What's the matter?" Aria softly asked her younger sister when she saw her huddle up to her, looking down at her. "That's what's the matter." Sonata exclaimed, pointing to the TV before burying her face into her older sister's chest so she wouldn't have to see what was happening on the TV. "It's ok. It's just on the TV." Aria softly said again, gently beginning to rub Sonata's back to calm her down after seeing what her sister had pointed at and realising she was scared of what she'd pointed at. "What's the problem?" Adagio flatly asked, looking over at her two younger sister's and shooting them a confused look. "Sonata's scared of what we're watching on the TV, so, could you change the channel to something that isn't scary to her." Aria explained to Adagio, looking over at her and asking her if she could change the channel on the TV to something else. "Sonata. Stop being a baby! Nothing you see on the TV is real." Adagio exclaimed to Sonata, completely ignoring what Aria'd asked her to do. "Adagio stop it. She's not being a baby, she's just scared of it." Aria flatly said, keeping her tone of voice calm but putting firmness into so she could keep Sonata calm but still argue with Adagio. "Ugh! She really needs to learn that sometimes she should just ignore what she sees on TV, and no, I will not change the channel because I want to watch this movie." Adagio exclaimed to Aria, crossing her arms tightly across her chest and glaring at her. "Fine! I'm not going to watch it with you though." Aria flatly replied, continuing to rub Sonata's back to calm her down. "Whatever. I don't care if you watch it or not." Adagio flatly stated before turning back to the TV to continue watching the movie. "Come on Sonata, I'll take you upstairs." Aria softly said to Sonata, gently sitting up on the couch and then standing up, allowing Sonata time to wrap her legs around her waist and her arms around her shoulders. When Sonata was situated, Aria grabbed her phone and then quietly left the living room, walked down the hall a bit before turning and heading up the stairs to were the girls bedrooms were. Once she was on the second level of the house, she quietly walked down the hallway towards her bedroom, when she got to her bedroom, she softly opened her bedroom door, walked into her room, turned on the light and then closed her bedroom door behind her. After closing her bedroom door, she walked over to her bed and gently sat down, plugging her phone into her charger that was sitting on her bedside table and then setting Sonata down on her lap after getting herself comfortable on her bed. "Do you want to watch some of your cartoons while you calm down a little?" Aria softly asked a couple minutes later when Sonata looked up at her, she could still see the fearful expression on her face and in her eyes. "Yeah." Sonata answered quietly. "Ok, let me get my laptop off of my desk and then you can watch cartoons on it, since my phone needs to charge." Aria softly explained, gently moving Sonata off her lap so she could get up to get her laptop. Sonata watched her older sister get off the bed and walk over to her desk where her laptop always sat. She continued to watch as Aria unplugged her laptop and then turned and walked back over to the bed and gently crawled onto it and sat back at the headboard where she'd sat down before. Aria got herself comfortable before opening her laptop, turning it on and then entered her password so she could log into it, after she logged in, she went to app that had all the cartoons on in. Once she was in the app, she went to the sidebar menu and clicked on where she had the cartoons that Sonata liked saved, when she was there, she clicked on the first cartoon on the list and leaned back on her bed as the cartoon began to play on her laptop. Sonata leaned into her older sister and gently wrapped her arms around Aria's torso and rested her head on the side of Aria's right shoulder while she watched her cartoons, Aria smiled at her while she watched the cartoons with her younger sister, she didn't mind the cartoons because she watched them with her sister lots. > Day 3 - I Can't Get Her To Stop Crying > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was currently about 2:00 in the afternoon at the Dazzling's house, Adagio was in the kitchen, rummaging through the pantry, fridge and deep freeze to see what she could find to make for supper that night, Aria was upstairs in her room and was most likely on either her laptop or her phone and Sonata was sitting in the living room playing with a couple of her toy horses she'd brought up from her playroom downstairs. At the moment, Sonata was doing alright, she'd been upset and really attached to Aria all morning and was having one of her worse days as Aria put it, but, had been calmed down enough for the past hour that Aria'd been able to leave her and go relax in her room, but had told Sonata to come up to get her if she wanted or needed something and for Adagio to sort of watch Sonata. It was only sort of watching because all Adagio really had to do was go into the living room every few minutes to check on Sonata and see if she was alright, Aria'd also told her that if she saw that Sonata was ever not playing with her toys and just sitting quietly on the floor, to ask her if she was alright or not, then to go and get Aria if Sonata said she wasn't alright. "Well, I better go check on the little brat again, it's been about ten minutes since I last checked on her." Adagio mumbled to herself as she walked out of the pantry and closed the door behind her. As soon as Adagio shut the pantry door, she heard Sonata start to cry for no apparent reason at all, she walked across the kitchen and then through the doorway that led to the living room. When she entered the living room, she looked over at Sonata and saw that she was sitting on the floor and crying in her knees, which were pulled up tightly to her chest and that her arms were wrapped around her legs. Adagio watched her with a confused look on her face for a few seconds before walking over to her youngest sister and walking in front of her so she was facing her and knelt down in front of her, moving the toy horses out of the way with her right foot before kneeling down. "What do you want Sonata?" Adagio asked Sonata, thinking she'd wanted something because she knew that her youngest sister sometimes cried when she wanted something but didn't want to ask for it. Sonata didn't look up or stop crying to answer, she just continued to cry into her knees and she seemed to be crying harder now than she had been when Adagio'd come into the living room. Adagio thought that was the reason she hadn't answered and didn't realise it was just something Sonata did sometimes when she was upset because of her anxiety. "Look, here's one of the little toy horses you were playing with." Adagio said, grabbing one of Sonata's toy horses she'd moved to the side before and putting it in her youngest sister's left hand, knowing that her sister liked them. Sonata threw her toy horse a little ways away and then started to cry harder, at this point, Adagio wasn't even sure if Sonata was listening to anything she was saying or if she was just crying. She was just getting frustrated because she couldn't figure out what her youngest sister wanted so she figured she'd just go and get Aria so Aria could deal with Sonata. Adagio stood up, brushed off her pants and then turned and left the living room and walked out into the hall and then down the hall before turning a sharp left and walking up the stairs to the second floor. When she got to the top of the stairs, she began to walk down the hallway towards Aria's room, when she walked up to her younger sister's bedroom door, she saw that it was closed all the way, like it usually was. Adagio stopped outside the bedroom door, reached up with her right hand and knocked on the door, when she got no answer she knocked on the door again, this time louder and still got no answer. Growing fed up with knocking, Adagio just opened the bedroom door and walked into Aria's room, quickly realising why her sister hadn't heard her knocking, she had her headphones plugged in and was watching something on her phone. "Aria." Adagio said as she walked over to the bed and shook her younger sister's shoulder to get her attention. "What?' Aria asked flatly, pausing what she was watching, taking her left headphone out of her ear and looking up at Adagio to see what her older sister wanted. "Can you come downstairs and get Sonata to stop crying, I tried to but she won't stop crying?" Adagio asked as she turned and began to walk towards Aria's bedroom door when Aria stood up and set her phone down behind her on her bed. "Ok, why is she crying?" Aria asked defiantly, following Adagio and shutting her bedroom door behind her when she exited her room, instantly growing protective of her younger sister. "I don't know, I was in the pantry looking for something and she just randomly started to cry." Adagio explained, walking to the stairs and then beginning to walk down the stairs. "Oh, her anxiety probably just flared up again. She is having kind of a bad day today in terms of her anxiety." Aria replied as she followed Adagio down the stairs and they both turned and headed towards the living room. "Ok, your turn. I'm going to go and continue to look for something to make for dinner." Adagio said, pointing to Sonata and then turning and walking back down the hall to the kitchen doorway. Aria made sure Adagio had gone into the kitchen before she quietly walked into the living room and over to her younger sister, who she immediately saw crying extremely hard and into her knees, which were pulled tightly to her chest. When she reached her younger sister, she sat down in front of her and gently reached over and gently got her sister to uncurl herself from the ball she was curled in. "Ari!" Sonata exclaimed when she saw who was sitting in front of her, immediately scooting forward and wrapping her arms around her older and protective sister's torso and burying her face into her chest while she continued to cry. "Shh, it's ok. I'm right here." Aria softly said to Sonata as she gently hugged her and began to gently rub her back to help her calm down. "Do you want to go upstairs to my room?" Aria asked softly a couple minutes later after Sonata'd calmed down a little bit. Sonata nodded as she looked up at her older sister, her face was stained with tear tracks and she was still crying a little but not as much as she had been before. "Ok, let's go." Aria softly instructed, smiling down at her younger sister as she stood up, allowing Sonata time to accept that she was doing so. "Up." Sonata said, gesturing to Aria and that wanted to be picked up and carried. "Alright, come here." Aria replied, bending down and gently picking up her younger sister, giving Sonata time to wrap her legs around her waist and her arms around Aria's shoulders. After Sonata was situated, Aria turned to leave the living room, but before leaving, she walked over to the side table that was by the couch and reached into the little cubby on it and grabbed one of Sonata's anxiety stress reliever toys out of it, looking to see which one she grabbed when she did and seeing that it was one of Sonata's fidget cubes. After grabbing it, Aria walked out of the living room, down the hall a little ways to the stairs and then turned and went up the stairs when she got to them. When she got to the top of the stairs, she walked down the hall and opened her bedroom door when she got to it, walked into her bedroom and then quietly shut her bedroom door behind her and then walked over and sat down on her bed after moving her phone and setting it on her bedside table. "Here." Aria softly said as she handed Sonata her fidget cube after setting Sonata down on her lap once she'd moved to the head of her bed. Sonata took her fidget cube from her older sister and began to fiddle with it, leaning into Aria while she did. Aria softly kissed the top of her head, held Sonata close to her and softly rubbed her back to keep her calm, slowly reaching up to wipe her face and eyes with her right hand after a few minutes went by. > Day 4 - Just Sit and Be Quiet > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was around 12:20 in the afternoon and it was basically house cleaning day, Adagio was in the kitchen and was cleaning the stove, the fridge, the microwave and the sink and was supposed to watch Sonata at the same time while Aria was upstairs making both hers and Sonata's beds as well as putting away Sonata and hers clean clothes in their dressers. Sonata was currently playing with three of her little toy horses at the end of the small island in the kitchen while Adagio cleaned the fridge, looking over every few minutes to check on Sonata because she was watching her for Aria. Adagio had already pulled all the contents from inside the fridge out so all she had to now was wipe down the fridge, sanitize it and then put everything back in the fridge before she could move on to cleaning the stove. Sonata looked up and watched Adagio wipe down the inside of the fridge door and the bottom of the inside of the fridge, moving closer to she could see better, after watching Adagio for a few minutes, Sonata crawled over beside her and looked for an extra wash cloth because she wanted to help her oldest sister clean. "Dagi." Sonata said after she was unable to find an extra wash cloth. "What?" Adagio asked flatly without looking over at Sonata, not really in the mood to talk to her because she was busy. "Can I help you clean?" Sonata asked, continuing to watch her oldest sister clean the inside of the fridge. "No." Adagio answered immediately. "Why not?" Sonata asked again, looking at Adagio intently when her oldest sister finally looked over at her. "Because the last time you helped me clean, you made a huge mess with the water and the soap because you didn't wring the water out of the cloth before you started to wipe down the outside of the stove." Adagio explained, getting her cloth wet again and wringing it out before continuing to clean the fridge. "Please let me help you, I promise I won't make a mess this time." Sonata begged, sticking out her bottom lip when Adagio looked over at her again. "Sonata, the answer is no. Also, that lip thing only works on Aria, not me." Adagio replied, going back to cleaning the inside of the fridge but standing up so she could do the top of it. "What can I do then?" Sonata asked, a little upset that Adagio wouldn't let her help. "You can go back over there and quietly play with your toy horses like you were before, that was excellent when you were doing that." Adagio explained, grabbing her dry cloth from the counter and began wiping down the fridge to dry it. "Ari would let me help." Sonata said as she went back over to where her toy horses were. "Yeah well I'm not Aria, am I." Adagio flatly replied, spraying and wiping down the fridge with the sanitizer now. "No you aren't, you're also no fun." Sonata whined, pulling her legs up to her chest and resting her head on her knees, which she either did when she was upset or frustrated, at the moment, she was frustrated. "Watch it Sonata, I don't put up with that like Aria does." Adagio warned, watching Sonata's actions. Sonata didn't say anything, she just grew more irritated and frustrated on the inside and normally when she got frustrated, she either got mad or threw something or started to cry because she was frustrated, her anxiety had been a little worse that day but not as bad as it'd been the day before. Aria'd still been watching her closely all morning in case her anxiety flared up again, and had warned Adagio not to start anything with Sonata because it would possibly cause her anxiety to flare up and would cause Sonata to get frustrated or irritated. She closed her eyes and buried her face into her knees for a minute as she became more stressed out due to the little argument her and Adagio'd just had, when she opened her eyes again, she felt like she wanted to throw, hit or kick something, which is usually just what happened as she got more stressed out. She reached over and grabbed a little bouncy ball she'd been playing with earlier and threw it at the wall that was beside the fridge, she buried her face back into her knees as the ball hit the wall with a loud thud and got Adagio's attention. "What's your prob-" Adagio paused when she looked over and saw how Sonata was sitting, "Um, Sonata." she said to Sonata confusingly, unaware that her sister did what she was doing when she was stressed out. Sonata didn't answer, she just continued to leave her face buried in her legs as Adagio stared at her confusingly, knowing that the position Sonata was in was what she did when she cried and wanted Aria, but, was unaware that she also did it when she was stressed out and frustrated. Adagio stopped putting things away in the fridge and walked over to her youngest sister, gently moving the toy horses out of the way and kneeling down in front of her when she got to Sonata. "Sonata, what's your problem?" Adagio asked after kneeling down in front of Sonata, reaching over and trying to get her to look up at her. "Nothing." Sonata flatly said, shoving Adagio's hand away with hers. "Do you want something?" Adagio asked again, continuing to try and get Sonata to look at her. "No!" Sonata exclaimed flatly, shoving Adagio's hand away from her again. "Adagio why is she stressed out?" Aria asked from the doorway that led from the kitchen to the hallway, she'd finished doing what she'd been doing upstairs and had come down to get Sonata, seeing that her sister was stressed out immediately when she'd walked through the doorway. "I don't know, all I did was tell her no when she asked me if she could help me clean and then I told her I don't put up with any of her whining or complaining when she started to do it." Adagio answered, looking up at Aria as Sonata slid away from her and then stomped her left foot on the kitchen floor because she was frustrated and stressed out. "Were you arguing with her about that" Aria asked as she walked over to where her two sisters were and kneeled down next to Adagio. "Kind of." Adagio answered, looking over at Aria cautiously as she did, knowing Aria was stronger than her and had super quick reflexes. "Well then that's why she's stressed out, I told you the other day not to argue with her, she can't cope with it." Aria explained flatly, looking over at Adagio with her "I told you this already" look. "Whatever, can you deal with her now that you're here, I need to finish cleaning." Adagio said to Aria, standing up and walking back over to the fridge. "Sonata can you look at me please?" Aria softly asked Sonata, sliding closer to her and gently reaching out and grabbing her younger sister's left arm with her right hand. "Leave me alone." Sonata flatly replied, hitting Aria's hand off of her left arm because she still thought it was Adagio. Aria pulled her hand away from Sonata when Sonata hit her. "Sonata, no hitting. It's not nice." Aria softly said, sliding closer to Sonata so she was next to her and then gently reaching over and resting her left hand on Sonata's right arm. "Ari." Sonata said as she looked up, finally realising it wasn't Adagio bugging her when she didn't get yelled at for hitting Aria. "Come with me." Aria replied, smiling at Sonata and then slowly standing up again, allowing Sonata time to realise she was doing it. "Up." Sonata exclaimed, gesturing she wanted to be carried. "I know, I know." Aria softly said, gently leaning down and picking up her younger sister, she'd already known Sonata would want to be carried. She began to rub her younger sister's back to get her calmed down after Sonata had wrapped her legs and arms around Aria's waist and shoulders and had rested her head on Aria's left shoulder. "Ok that's not fair, I tried to get her to look at me by doing the same thing you did and she wouldn't look at me, how do you do that so well?" Adagio asked flatly, rolling her eyes at how easily Aria'd gotten Sonata to look at her and to the point where Aria'd picked her up. "Adagio, I've told you this many times before, if she gets upset, just come and get me because she doesn't want you, she wants me when she's upset." Aria answered as she continued rubbing Sonata's back. "But what's going to happen if you leave her with me one day while you go to town and she gets upset, I can't come and get you then, I'll have to calm her down." Adagio exclaimed, trying to state a point but it wasn't really working. "We all know that won't happen, you'd sooner call me and have me come home than calm her down." Aria said before turning and leaving the kitchen to go and calm Sonata down and Adagio went back to cleaning the kitchen. > Day 5 - It's Just Dark, It's Not That Scary > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was about 10:30 at night and Adagio, Aria and Sonata had just exited the movie theatre and were now in Adagio's car and making their way through town to head home, the movie they'd seen had been a really good movie, it had sort of been like a documentary type movie, they'd all enjoyed it. Sonata was pretty tired now though, since it was past her bedtime, which was normally ten o'clock, most of the businesses in their local town were closed for the night and as they drove through the town, Sonata warily looked out her window, she didn't really like the dark and even though the street lights were on, it was still fairly dark in the town and in Adagio's car. She was currently sitting behind Aria, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, she looked away from the window and back and forth between her two older sisters as they talked with each other about the movie, deciding she'd get Aria's attention, knowing her older sister would give it to her since she was scared. "Ari." Sonata quietly said as she reached forward and around Aria's seat to gently tap her older sister's shoulder to get her attention. "What?" Aria softly asked, pulling down the little flip-up mirror that was in front of her, she could sort of see Sonata in it but not really because it was dark. "It's dark and I'm scared because it's dark." Sonata answered, explaining to her sister that she was scared because it was dark. "It's ok, nothing's going to hurt you." Aria softly replied, smiling at her sister through the mirror that she could see into the back of Adagio's car with. "Seriously?" Adagio sarcastically asked, rolling her eyes at Sonata. "What?" Aria spat, turning to Adagio with an unamused look on her face. "Sonata you're joking right? You already know nothing will hurt you, it's just dark. You know that." Adagio exclaimed flatly, looking in the rear-view mirror of her car at her youngest sister. "Adagio knock it off, she's always been scared of the dark and you know that." Aria flatly stated, raising her voice slightly because she was addressing Adagio and not Sonata. "Yeah I know, but, she's just being a baby right now and whining and complaining about it." Adagio flatly argued as she turned off the road that led from their local town and led to their house, which was about fifteen minutes outside of town. "I'm not being a baby, I'm just scared!" Sonata exclaimed, she began to cry now because of what Adagio'd said. "Really Adagio? You had to make her cry? Can't you just go with one day without upsetting her?" Aria flatly asked Adagio as she turned back to look at Sonata through the pull-down flap with the mirror on it. "You know Aria, I don't really care about her. I could care less if I make her cry or not." Adagio answered, continuing to drive down the dark road towards the driveway of their house, which was now about thirteen minutes away. "Come up here Sonata, you can come sit with me." Aria softly said, turning her attention back to her younger sister, giving her permission to take her seatbelt off and come to her. Sonata took her seatbelt off and then slid over to the middle of the backseat of Adagio's car, once she was there, Aria turned and gently picked her up and carefully brought her up to the front of the car and set her down on her lap once she had her in the front. She often did this lots in Adagio's car when Sonata got upset and started to cry so she'd grown accustomed to doing it carefully. Once Sonata was in her lap, Aria gently hugged her and began to rub her back as Sonata leaned into her and wrapped her arms around her shoulders and began to cry into her chest, Adagio looked over at them through the corner of her right eye and rolled her eyes at them as she continued to drive down the long road to their house. "Shh, you're ok. Nothing going hurt you and you're allowed to be scared." Aria softly whispered to Sonata, continuing to rub her back and gently hug her to calm her down. "C-Can I play on your phone until we get home?" Sonata asked her older sister when she was calmed down a little bit. "Sure, go ahead. Just keep the brightness and volume down." Aria answered, grabbing her phone out of her side pocket and then handed it to her younger sister. "Ok." Sonata replied before grabbing her older sister's phone and turning it on, turning down the brightness and volume before unlocking it, since she knew the passcode for her sister's phone. She yawned while she switched to the section that had all the games and then she went to her section of games. "As soon as we get home you're going to bed. It's already past your bedtime." Aria softly said as she gently took the ponytail out of her younger sister's hair and put the elastic around her wrist so she could hang onto it until her and her sisters got home. *10 MINUTES LATER* Adagio pulled up to her and her sister's house and they all got out of the car, Aria was carrying Sonata because Sonata had sort of fallen asleep in the time it had taken them to get home. Adagio locked her car and then walked up the steps to the front door where her sisters were waiting for her to unlock the front door, when she unlocked it, Aria stepped into the house and turned on the light that was in the mudroom and then took her shoes off. Adagio hung her car keys on the hook for her and Aria's keys and then shut the front door quietly as Aria gently took off Sonata's shoes and then walked out of the mudroom and across the hallway, heading upstairs to get Sonata ready for bed and then to put Sonata to bed. Adagio watched her head upstairs before she to headed upstairs, leaving the mudroom light on because she'd be coming back down after plugging in her phone and putting her house key in her bedroom, rolling her eyes at Aria and Sonata again as she walked up the stairs. > Day 6 - She Can't Have This > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was about 11:15 in the afternoon, Adagio and Sonata were both in the living room because Adagio, once again, was watching Sonata while Aria did her chores around the house, which was basically make hers and Sonata's bed, put away hers and Sonata's clean clothes and wash hers and Sonata's dirty clothes if their laundry hampers in their rooms were full. Adagio was lounging in her reclining chair and looking at something on her phone, looking up to check on Sonata every few minutes, Sonata was sitting on the floor on the other end of the coffee table and was playing with a couple of her toy horses she'd brought up from downstairs. Adagio had a couple chocolate chip cookies in her hand and was eating one of them, but now that she thought about it, she didn't really want two cookies at the moment though, but, she was too comfy and to relaxed to get up and put the other cookie back in the container in the kitchen. Instead she figured she'd just give the cookie to Sonata, since Sonata was in the living room and would be an easy way to get rid of the cookie and then Adagio wouldn't have to get up and put it away for later. "Hey Sonata." Adagio said, looking up at Sonata and grabbing the second cookie off the side table beside her reclining chair. "What?" Sonata asked, turning to look at Adagio to see what her oldest sister wanted. "Do you want this?" Adagio asked Sonata, holding the cookie up so she could see it. "What is that?" Sonata asked again, confused as to what Adagio was holding, since she normally wasn't allowed to have certain things because of her anxiety. "It's a chocolate chip cookie. Do you want it?" Adagio answered, again asking if Sonata wanted the cookie. "Sure." Sonata replied. "Here you go then." Adagio said handing Sonata the cookie after Sonata'd crawled over to her chair. "Thanks Dagi." Sonata said before crawling back over to where her two toy horses were. "Whatever." Adagio replied as she looked back down at her phone. Aria came down the stairs about a minute later to grab a basket so she could put hers and Sonata's dirty clothes into it, when she stepped off the bottom step, she turned to look in the living room to check on Sonata, since she could see her from where she was standing. She saw that Sonata had something in her left hand and looked at her for a minute to see what it was, as Sonata put whatever she had in her mouth, Aria realised what it was and instantly sprung into protective sister mode, knowing her sister couldn't have what she had in her mouth because of her anxiety. She walked quickly down the hall, entered the living room and quickly walked over to Sonata. "Hey, give me that." Aria said, stopping in front of Sonata and gently taking the cookie out of her mouth. "Ari! I want that!" Sonata exclaimed, looking up at her older sister and trying to get the cookie from her hand. "No! You can't have it." Aria replied firmly, setting the cookie down on the coffee table and then kneeling down and picking Sonata up. She only put firmness in her voice around Sonata when she was being protective of her and didn't approve of something she was doing or something she had. "Ok." Sonata quietly said, knowing her sister only told her no, that she couldn't have something or was more firm when talking to her when she was being protective of her. She wrapped her legs around Aria's waist and looked at her. "Where'd you get that anyways?" Aria softly asked her, slightly getting out of protective sister mode but not really as she gently brushed some hair out of Sonata's eyes. "Dagi gave it to me, she said I could have it." Sonata answered, pointing to their oldest sister who was staring at them confusingly because of what'd Aria'd just done and had told Sonata. "Adagio. She's not allowed to have cookies." Aria explained, looking over at Adagio and glaring at her while she shifted Sonata to her right arm. Sonata reached behind her with her hands and grabbed her right pigtail and began to run her hands through it and play with her sister's hair, Aria didn't mind though. "Oh stop being so protective of her, I didn't do anything to it." Adagio exclaimed, thinking that's what Aria meant when she'd said Sonata wasn't allowed cookies. "That's not what I meant by she's not allowed to have cookies." Aria flatly stated, continuing to glare at Adagio while Sonata played with her hair. "Well what's the problem then?" Adagio asked, getting annoyed at Aria being protective of Sonata, because she always thought Aria was overprotective. "She can't have cookies because they're a sugary food and it could cause her anxiety to flare up." Aria explained, watching Sonata out of the corner of her left eye to keep an eye on her, since she was still slightly in protective sister mode. "Oh." Adagio replied, still slightly confused but not wanting to get lectured further by Aria. "And I don't need her anxiety to flare up today, she's having a good day today, right Sonata?" Aria explained, asking Sonata if she was having a good day and kissing her forehead when Sonata looked at her. "Right." Sonata said, smiling when her older sister kissed her forehead. "I was just a little shocked at what you said to her, I've never heard you tell her no or talk to her with a firm voice once since you two have been closer to each other." Adagio said, looking back down at her phone, feeling slightly weirded out by watching Aria kiss Sonata, even though she knew she did it all the time and had seen her do it before. "I only tell her no and talk to her with a firm voice if I have to, or if I'm in protective mode, like I sort of am now and she's doing something I don't like or is doing something she can't do." Aria explained, allowing both her sisters to know that she was still in somewhat in protective sister mode for Sonata. "Whatever." Adagio flatly replied without looking up. "Ok Sonata, you're coming with me. I don't trust you in here without me right now." Aria softly explained, grabbing the cookie off the coffee table and then turning to leave the living room. "Wait, I want my horseys." Sonata said, stopping Aria from leaving the living room and pointing down at her toy horses. "Alright, here you go." Aria replied, gently kneeling down, grabbing Sonata's toy horses off the living room floor and then handing them to her younger sister as she stood up and turned to leave again. Sonata took her horses from her older sister's hand and held onto them while her sister left the living room, stopping to take the cookie Sonata'd had and put it in the trash in the kitchen, since she knew Adagio wouldn't want it now that Sonata'd put it in her mouth. After doing that, she exited the kitchen and walked down the hall and into the laundry room to grab a laundry basket to put hers and Sonata's dirty clothes in, exiting the laundry room and walking back upstairs after getting a laundry basket. "Sorry Ari, I only took the cookie from her because I thought I could have it. You've never told me that I can't have cookies. You just told me no candy." Sonata explained to Aria as Aria walked a little ways down the hall after reaching the top of the stairs and walked into Sonata's bedroom. "It's ok Nata, you're not it trouble." Aria softly replied, gently kissing Sonata's forehead again before setting her down on the floor of her bedroom so she could get the dirty clothes from her laundry hamper. "Ari." Sonata said after watching her sister for a few seconds. "What?" Aria asked, pausing from taking Sonata's dirty clothes out of her laundry hamper to look over at her younger sister to see what she wanted. "I like it when you get all protective over me and don't want to leave me alone when you're being protective over me." Sonata answered, smiling at her older sister. "Thanks, but, I don't get protective over you to make you happy. I get protective over you because I love you." Aria softly explained, returning her younger sister's smile as she went back to getting her younger sister's clothes from her laundry hamper and putting them in the laundry basket to take them downstairs and wash them. "I know." Sonata replied before beginning to play with her toy horses while Aria took her dirty clothes from her laundry hamper and put them in the laundry basket she'd grabbed. > Day 7 - Just Leave Her Be For One Day > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria was upstairs in her and her sisters two story mansion-sized and was busy putting Sonata's clean clothes away in her dresser from the load of laundry she'd done earlier that day, she'd already made hers and Sonata's beds and had put her own clothes away that she'd washed earlier. Sonata was currently downstairs in the living room and Adagio was watching her, to prevent an incident from happening like what had happened the day before with the cookie, Aria'd specifically told Adagio not to offer Sonata anything, since Adagio didn't know what Sonata could and couldn't have because of her anxiety. Aria'd also told Sonata that if she wanted something to eat to come and ask her because Aria knew what she could and couldn't eat or drink because of her anxiety, she had everything written down on her phone. Aria always had Sonata's clothes organized in her dresser by colors, she was just finishing all Sonata's pink clothes in their designated drawers, she heard yelling come from downstairs, followed by what sounded like crying but she wasn't sure. Knowing what most likely was going on, Aria immediately set the laundry basket down that had her younger sister's clothes in it, turned and quickly walked out of Sonata's bedroom door and towards the stairs, her protective sister mode for Sonata taking over her, because she was fairly certain Adagio'd done something that made Sonata start crying. Aria walked down the stairs, turned and quickly started to walk down the hall towards the living room, the crying grew louder as she got closer to the living room and she could now make out that Sonata was screaming her name through her sobs as she made her way to the living room. "What happened?!" Aria asked in a slightly raised tone of her voice as she walked into the living room, quickly taking in what she saw, Sonata was sitting on the floor by the three toy horses she'd been playing with when Aria'd left her in the living room and she was crying really hard and was extremely worked up and Adagio was standing in front of her with her arms crossed and an angry expression on her face. "Ari!" Sonata exclaimed through her tears, turning to look at her older and protective sister while she continued to cry. "Come here." Aria softly said, walking over to her younger sister and gently bending down and picking her up. Sonata wrapped her arms around Aria's waist, her arms around her shoulders and buried her face into the base of her neck and continued to cry. "Thank you. You can take this little brat and deal with her elsewhere, I'm done." Adagio exclaimed flatly, turning and walking back over to the doorway that led to the kitchen. "Well what happened?" Aria asked flatly, gently rubbing Sonata's back to calm her down. "Ask her. I don't feel like telling you, but, she can." Adagio answered before walking into the kitchen through the doorway. "What happened Nata?" Aria softly asked her younger sister as she walked over and slowly sat down on the couch, continuing to rub Sonata's back to calm her down. "I don't know, I was just playing with my toy horseys and she came into the living room from the kitchen and started to yell at me for no reason." Sonata explained through her sobs, starting to calm down a little. "Adagio come back in here." Aria said, calling into the kitchen to get Adagio to come back into the living room. "What?" Adagio asked flatly, appearing in the living room through the doorway a couple minutes later. "Why'd you start yelling at her for no reason? She just told me she didn't do anything bad and you just started to yell at her." Aria asked, explaining to Adagio what Sonata'd told her. "It wasn't for no reason, she was making those stupid little horse noises again and that drives me crazy." Adagio answered, gesturing to the toy horses on the floor and then at Sonata. "She likes to make little horse noises when she plays with her toy horses, there's no problem with that." Aria explained, giving Adagio her "are you serious" look. "I don't care. She's just a little brat." Adagio said, walking back into the kitchen again. "Ari can we go upstairs to your bedroom?" Sonata asked a couple minutes later, she was still crying a little but she'd calmed down and had now moved her head to rest it on Aria's right shoulder. "Sure. Do you want your toy horses?" Aria answered as she slowly stood up and gave Sonata time to adjust herself so she wouldn't fall, asking if Sonata wanted her toy horses. "No." Sonata answered quietly. "Ok, let's go then." Aria replied before turning and walking out of the living room and down the hall towards the stairs. Aria turned when she got to the stairs and walked up them, reaching the top a few seconds later and then making her way down the hall, past Sonata's bedroom to her own bedroom. When she reached her bedroom, she shifted Sonata to her right arm before quietly opening her bedroom door, walked into her bedroom, turned on her bedroom light and then quietly shut the door behind her. After this she walked over to the bed, sat down and then moved to sit by her headboard and then set Sonata down on her lap, Sonata turned to look at her when Aria set her down on her lap. "Ari." Sonata said a couple minutes later. "What?" Aria asked softly, smiling at her younger sister. "Am I a brat?" Sonata asked, looking at Aria with a questioning look on her face. "No, you are not a brat, don't listen to Adagio, she just doesn't get it." Aria answered, gently leaning over and softly kissing Sonata's forehead. Sonata didn't answer, she just nodded and then looked down at her hands which were now rested in her lap for a minute and then looked back up at her older sister. "I love you Nata." Aria whispered as she slowly reached up and wiped Sonata's eyes and face with her left hand to get the tear stains off her face and the tears out of her eyes. "I love you to Ari." Sonata whispered back, smiling at Aria, cheering up now that she was with her older sister.
