A weathered soul

I walked an endless abyss searching for a reason of sort to continue on though what's the reason you may ask? Well that’s what I ask myself every waking moment. I never bother to dwindle in one place or sleep since I know if I let it consume my figure I feel like it may be my last.

I wander hoping for another in need of me. I protect those who can’t protect themselves. I maybe a monster from the depths below, but what makes me stand apart from the rest is I’m a beaken through the darkness.

I was never always like this; before I use to be like the others. I killed those who stood in my path. I was a tool used by another to dispose of others they sought unworthy until one slaughter I encountered a soul that changed my view and opened my eyes.

A kind soul who looked at me with innocent eyes not of fear; Instead it gazed upon my figure with wonder. Even when it watched my disposal of others it still offered its hoof to a monster like me. It was willing to forgive my misdeeds and forgive the sins I’ve committed. I felt something I never felt before “Love.”

A battle roared inside me threatening my very fate with one side trying to consume the other. It want back and forth for what felt like an entirety. Until in the end I prevailed against my controller and what awaited me on the other side was freedom. When the same scenery greeted my vision; I saw it basked in another light.

Looking down below I saw the small soul still offering its hoof. I crouched on one knee meeting them eye to eye. Lifting my hoof out I gently accepted its offer. We stayed like that un-moving while everything faded around us for we knew a bond had been formed between us.

“A Contract”

Suddenly all to quickly reality greeted us by the controller who send out others to dispose of us. Readying my tenderizer I prepared to disburse the scum who dare threaten my changeling.

Slamming my tenderizer against my head I charged forth into tartarus not knowing my faith.

Hours passed with screams and weapons clashing. No outside perspective could tell which side was winning expect watch until whoever emerged. At the end the sounds settled and a noise from a weapon being dragged could be heard coming through the thick smoke. The unknown creature who fell from the heavens stood tall splattered with blood while its weapon glistened in the starry night.
It walked towards its changeling standing tall and rested its hoof on its weapon while the other slowly wiped away the tears then patted the souls head. In a whisper unknown it spoke-

“Fear not my changeling for whoever may cause you harm shall fear my wraith and I will stand proud by your side to dispose of those that shall cause you harm. Use me as a extension, a sword, and as one that shall always be there in troubling times and take on your burdens.

For I am the keeper.”

I lowered my form toward the ground allowing my changeling to crawl upon my back. Once the soul got comfortable I raised on my hooves then started trotting forward away from the massacre of a city once home to many now become a ghost town with rotting corpses decaying.

My changeling looked forward for not wanting to gaze upon the destruction left behind of her former home. Shielding her with my wing she quickly snuggled in them and soon allowed sleep to consume her.

We traveled far and in between to many places searching for something unknown to her. I hardly minded since all that mattered to me was I had a changeling to care and protect, but I knew one day she’ll find what she seeks then no longer be in need of me. Maybe I should feel torn about the thought though I’ve seen many come and go. I hardly feel anything anymore for my controller within my head slowly did away with these emotions.

When the time comes for her to leave I’ll march on for another in need of me once again while slowly forgetting them for that’s what a creature like me deserves. Seeking for another to fill this hole.

We live in a world imagined by another after all. A twisted nightmarish place where creatures known in equis try to forget, but for those that reach to close to the sun may find themselves falling into a abyss that eats away at their insecurities making them fall further into the darkness until they’ve reached this tartarus world where creatures from the nights dwell waiting for another to be killed by themselves.

Equis a place many come to for a new start soon find out it's not a utopia as it is advertised, instead a place created upon bodies of bodies of the dead.

Looking up toward the cloudy sky I sat their letting this forsaken place fade away for a moment to remember a time long forgotten of a family that I can no longer see the faces of instead a blurry image. It may not have been much, but I felt envy of this stallion who had a lovely life. A smile would be seen upon my face if I had one though I no longer bare a head instead a barbwire safe graced its place. I’ve fallen too far into the abyss to every escape from and for that I’ve become a offspring like the many other who have turned into these monsters that dwell in this realm. For once upon a time we were normal creatures of equis until we’ve slowly decayed to insanity becoming our own monsters.

A storm roared to life soon after rain started to pour upon the world. I sat there enjoying the rain still letting all my troubles vanish for just a little longer until a loud boom roared across the land letting us creatures know of fallen ones preparing to drop from the sky. Picking up my tenderizer I trotted off in the direction hoping for another to form a contact.
