Once upon a time there were ponies. Two ponies! Pinkie and Dashie. Dashie and Pinkie.

One day, Pinkie decided she would surprise Dashie, because ponies love surprises and Dashie was a pony, so it would make sense for Dashie to love surprises too (though I don’t think ‘too' is the right word, since Dashie's already included in the former. So there shouldn’t be a latter. Latter sounds like litter and kittens come in litters and kitties are cute and Dashie is cute so I guess it’s the right word after all).

So on that fateful day, Pinkie went to the shops to get something for Dashie to surprise Dashie because that would make Dashie happy and Pinkie liked making ponies happy, especially Dashie because Dashie was super duper fun and super duper adorable and super duper brave and super duper awesome. Dashie was the awesomest of awesome so Pinkie had to get Dashie a surprise that was really really awesome just like her. Then Dashie would like it and be happy and then Pinkie would be happy that Dashie would be happy. Basically, everypony there would be happy, though that wouldn’t be much of an achievement since there were only two ponies and two ponies isn’t the same as, say, 20 ponies or 30 ponies or a million bajillion ponies. But two ponies are better than no ponies and as long as even one pony is happy Pinkie is happy because Pinkie loves ponies and happiness too.

So anyway, Pinkie bounced to the store (because bouncing is waaaaay more fun than walking or trotting or sliding around. I don’t think ponies do slide around, but if they did bouncing would still be much more fun). The store manager smiled when Pinkie bounced in, since she was a frequent and friendly customer.

“Hi Pinkie,” said the manager (let’s call her Custard Creme. That’s a nice name).

“Hi!” said Pinkie, “I’m making a super awesome surprise for somepony super awesomely special.”

Then Pinkie went around the shop and bought all the things she’d need for the surprise for Dashie. Once the pinkerific pone was satisfied, she wheeled her cart (oops, I forgot to mention she had a cart. Ok, she has a cart now) over to Custard Creme who added up the prices at the till. Pinkie paid then waved goodbye to Custard Creme then put her stuff in a bag and bounced with the bag out of the shop.

She started making her way back to Sugarcube Corner. Suddenly, she was hit by a purple wave of purpleness which sent her flying. She looked up, blinking. It was her friend Twilight Sparkle.

“Hi Twilight Sparkle!” said Pinkie.

“Why did you just call me Twilight Sparkle?” said the confused Twilight Not-Sparkle confusededley.

“I don’t know,” said Pinkie, “I just wanted to.”

With that she went off on her way, leaving the confused purple pone to her confusededness.

When Pinkie got back to Sugarcube Corner, she had a lot of stuffs to do. Well, not a lot of little stuffs but more like a big lot of a one stuff that was quite huge. She took out colored paper, glitter, scissors, glue and an old bundle she had retrieved from under the bed. That is, only the bundle came from under the bed. The rest came from Custard Creme's shop which unfortunately didn’t stock bundles or beds.

After a few long hours (which didn’t seem very long because they were fun hours and fun hours fly by as fast as a Wonderbolt, but not as fast as Dashie because Dashie is the most fastedness) Pinkie was finished. She wrapped the surprise in wrapping paper to make it even more surprising. She was about to go on a Dash hunt, which was always a fun game, but then an idea blossomed in her pink Pinkie brain (or in her pink Pinkie head. Because we don’t know if her brain is pink. It could be blue or orange or red or purple but we couldn’t be sure unless we peep inside her head but Twilight's doctor's kit with the ear checker thingy exploded last week so…). Anyway, Pinkie galloped to the kitchen. She was gonna make the bestest cupcakes because cupcakes make every surprise better and the bestest cupcakes would make the surprise the bestest better surprise.

Pinkie was a fast baker so she baked the cupcakes very fastly. Once she was done, she gathered all she has prepared and headed off on her Dash hunt. It wasn’t long before she spied a Dash. The Dash was, in fact, Rainbow Dash, the Dashiest Dash of all, who was currently sleeping on a cloud.

“Dashieeee!” Pinkie called. Dashie woke up, stretched and then glanced over bleary-eyed at the caller. The caller was Pinkie. We already knew that, but Dashie didn’t so Dashie was pleasantly surprised at seeing the pink ball of energy.

“Hi Pinks,” she said as she yawned a great big yawny yawn, “Watcha want?” Maybe Pinkie wanted to prank. Dashie loved to prank with Pinkie, but she wasn’t in a pranky mood because she was tired and would much rather rest to be honest.

“I have a surprise for you!” said Pinkie.

Dashie perked up a little. She was tired, but not too tired for a surprise, as long as the surprise wasn’t a party. Dashie didn’t see a party, unless Pinkie had brought an invisible party but Dashie doubted that and figured it safe to come down. She flapped her wings and in a few seconds she was on the ground beside Pinkie. Pinkie was super excited but nervous too. She was nervcited for Dashie to see her present.

Dashie tore open the wrapping paper and a scrapbook popped out. She eyed Pinkie curiously and opened the first page. Inside was decorated with photos from times they’d had and glitter and buttons and even ribbon. At the back was a note which said ‘To Dashie. Thank you for all the awesome times. You are the awesomest pony ever! Love from Pinkie'. Dashie didn’t know what to say for a few moments so it was super duper quiet.

“Do you like-“ Pinkie was about to ask but Dashie tackled her in a surprise hug. Surprises with cupcakes are good but surprises with surprise hugs are the bestest of the best. Dashie is the bestest of the best so this surprise was even better than best.

And so Pinkie and Dashie sat there till sunset, exchanging cuddly cuddles and cupcakey cupcakes. And it was adorable and really really great.

The End.
