Rudolf Von Schreiner, a Non-Commisioned Officer is stranded in Equestria after volunteering himself for the new prototype, developed by the Third Reich to aid the war effort. Can he adjust to the new life he never thought exist?
The Third Reich war effort had turned their attention to create, and develop a super weapon to turn the tides of War. Their Scientist create what do they believe to be a 'Time Machine' and requires a volunteer to test it. Rudolf Von Schreiner is the first and also the last volunteer to test the Time Machine, instead of sending him into the past, he was 'accidentally' went to another dimension. Into a magical land of Equestria, where Friendship is Magic.

15th of October 1944. Undisclosed Location, Germany. Secret Nazi Research Laboratory.
"Are you ready to begin the test?" said someone on the speaker to the carefully battle-readied German Soldier in the chamber below the observation room. The soldier took a deep breath to relax himself and then nodded to the supervisor on the room above. "Step inside the chamber, and brace yourself for what to come next."
The Soldier, Rudolf Von Schreiner steps inside the weird contraption, the machine it self was made with a lot of variety of gears inside the machine, he never understood them. All he know that this very contraption where he stand was a "Time Machine", allowing someone to travel to the past. His very and only objective was to tell the German High Command before the war, allowing Germany take a great advantage early in the war. He assured himself that the test will be a success if things went accordingly, if he manage to transported back to the past, he'll be remembered to be the first one to travel back in time, only if he made it. He then made a final check on his backpack, inside was worth of 1 month rations and other survival kit incase everything weren't according to plan. Sub-machinegun "MP40" and a bolt-action rifle "Karabiner 98k" was safely strapped outside the pack, both had a limited amount of clips and magazine for one week of combat. He finally raised his thumb, indicating he's ready to begin the process of Time Travel to the past.
"Commencing, prepare yourself!" as the voice behind the speaker finished, the machine start to begin its work. Machinery and gears was moving, at first it was slow and then consistently to increase its speed. Bolt of lightning erupted on one of the machine. There was a panic inside the observation room, yelling in German and telling to shut down the weird contraption. Rudolf himself weren't sure if it was working or not, but he stood still in the chamber, he didn't notice the ongoing panic. The scientist at the observation room was telling Rudolf to get off from the machine immediately. It was futile as Rudolf felt his body melt and then at an instant, he was vaporized as a bolt of lightning struck him. Disappeared without trace, just as the chamber exploded.
Rudolf opened his eye, he noticed he was laying in the ground somewhere in the middle of a forest. His entire body felt sore as he tried to get up to a sitting position. His body felt like having the aftermath of being struck with a lightning bolt while swimming in the ocean. He traveled through time and space, but where in the world he was brought into? He closely inspect where he was landed, or in this case, 'Teleported'. It was a terrifying to see a lot of tree that resemble to a horrifying or a terrorizing face. The sensation Rudolf felt was; being watched by the numerous amount of tree. Ready to snap his fleshy skin and rip it apart if it was disturbed. He shuddered at the sight and quickly stood up and then inspect the area even more. It was only the same horrifying tree watching him all around him, along with a layer of bush. He readied himself of what comes next, but nothing had happened to him. He conclude that the tree was his own imagination and only playing tricks on him, he moved on after equipping his Kar98k where it was still strapped safely on the backpack. He attach a bayonet on the muzzle of his rifle and slash the bush's who was stood on his path, blocking with either vine or branch. The bayonet easily cut off the layers of bush and keep on going to slash the bush as it was a sheath of paper.
He finally through the many layered bush while swinging his rifle like a bat, clearing the way up front. He was met with a some sort of pathway made with dirt, he was curious where it led to and decide to follow it. Hopefully it was the way out from this damned forest, he thought to himself.
He was stopped as he heard a strange sound coming from a bush nearby, it sounded like a munching or eating noise. He approached where the sound was made, slowly crept into a bush to see a strange beast was eating something. The beast it self had a wing and a scorpion tail, which terrified Rudolf slightly. He quietly took a step back only to crush a stick behind him.
CRACK!
The beast turned its head, clearly showing a lion head as it turned to see who made such sound. The first thing caught its attention was the bush who was moving nearby, it where was Rudolf was hiding from the beast. Rudolf aimed his bolt-action rifle at the strange beast, aiming right at its head. The barrel of the rifle sticking out of the bush only made the beast curious and move forward to examine it.
Seeing no way to escape the situation, Rudolf made its initiative by shooting his rifle at the creature's head. Hitting it straight into one of its eye, blinding half of the beast vision, it roared in pain as it was half-blinded. The beast pouched forward to the bush, slashing angrily at the bush, but it was nothing inside. The beast then turned to the side where it seen the soldier aimed and fired its rifle. Once again, it hit the creature at the eye, blinding the beast completely. All it could do now was blindly slashing its claw in the air, scratching the nearby tree that is close enough to be near the claw. Rudolf pulled and pushed the rifle bolt. Then aimed the rifle again at the creature and fired, and he repeated the process until there was one bullet left at the clip. The bullet manage to penetrated the hide, but with only two bullets, it wound the beast slightly and made the beast angrier and then it roared even more louder. The soldier yelled, charging forward with his rifle while raising its bayonet up, and thrusting it into the beast hide. Again the beast roared, and again another shot was also heard. The bullet struck the beast at a point-blank range, the beast finally cried out its final roar and fell backwards.
The strange beast are now resting down on the ground, slowly breathing weakly. Rudolf looked at the creature for a moment, trying to process what had been done to create such terrifying monster. He pulled the bolt on his rifle and load another clip into it. Pushing the bolt back, he aimed his rifle at the beast head. He was going to execute the beast out of its misery until suddenly, there was a sound behind him. Startled, he turned and aimed at the nearby bush that made the sound. He shouted in German, threatening whoever in that bush to come out. He was shocked, and his eyes widened as soon he saw a pony walked out of the bush, a yellow Pegasus to be precise. Talking back at him with a whimper.
"P-please don't hurt me," the sound of the talking horse made Rudolf narrowed his eye in confusion. Surely he was crazy, a talking horse? That is utterly impossible, unless he was in a different dimension or world... or whatever you want to call it.
"Y-you talk?" he spoke to the yellow Pegasus in German, who was still frightened. Possibly after seeing what he had done to the strange beast.
"P-p-please, j-j-just l-l-let me help him," said the yellow Pegasus who was still cowering in front of the Soldier.
Realizing that the yellow Pegasus speaks English, he quickly changed his language to make the Pegasus understand him. Thankfully, he spoke English quite fluently, because he graduated from University of Oxford on United Kingdom.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you, I promise!" Rudolf speaks softly to the Pegasus, attempting to calm the Pegasus. But any attempt to calm the Pegasus only made it even more terrified to the Soldier. He sighed, "Look, you've must saw my action to this... creature. I apologize to you."
The Pegasus ear perked up and raised her head in disbelief and opened her mouth to speak, "W-w-what?"
"Look, I already apologize, you don't need to be afraid," Rudolf lent his hand, slowly approaching the Pegasus. It only worsen the situation as the yellow Pegasus let out a small yelp and quickly flew away.
He sighed heavily, and continue its way to the pathway he were at originally. He don't know what it expected after the forest filled with strange things, he only want to get out from it as fast as possible.
Rudolf make his way out of the forest by following the pathway, he saw the most incredible things he never gonna believe. A colorful and peaceful world, the land was prosperous and healthy. It shows as a war never broke off in this world, unlike on his original one where every nation fought in the world. Whatever this place is, shocked and amazed the young Soldier. He took off his helmet in awe, revealing a blonde hair that was protected and concealed by the helmet. He gaze upon the beautiful world, surely this is a dream or perhaps, a fantasy world that only exist on someone minds. Suddenly, all of the weight of the heavy backpack was no longer felt by the Soldier as the longer he stood in the green field.
He shook his head rapidly to return to reality, surely this surely made him insane by now, but he hasn't. This world was so different than the one back at his home, the world are having a war of the worlds. Surely, he'll never going to return back if no one helped him go back to his own. But this peaceful world only made him want to stay forever, back there he maybe called a coward, but he did not wish for it as he volunteer to change the past. Unexpectedly only travel into another world where Animal could talk, this only could be made by magic. It's the only explanation, but he did not believe such myth. Come on, a Pegasus? That was a Greek mythology, plus it had spoken to him not long ago. He scratch his head, confused by the new world he had himself stumble upon.
Putting back the steel helmet onto his head, he made his way to the small town nearby. He assumed to be friendly so he put away his rifle, safely strapped onto his backpack, but once he arrived. He saw no activities nor did anyone in the town, as it was recently empty. He saw the town market to be completely abandoned with their stand left along with the item they sell. Surely he find it suspicious, this town was recently emptied in such a quick note. Maybe they see him when he's holding his rifle up, and suspect him to be a threat and immediately evacuate.
He strolled through the empty town, without seeing anyone or anything moving except the wind that occasionally blows over the emptiness. He narrowed his eye to see four golden armored pony approached him with a spear, he quickly grab his rifle and aimed towards the approaching armored pony's. They halted their advance as Rudolf aimed his rifle at each of them, he shouted in German to stand back. At the mist of tension, he saw a lavender pony landed nearby. Both being Unicorn and Pegasus combined, followed by five others pony behind it. There was a variation of them, two normal pony, an Unicorn and two Pegasus. It was the yellow Pegasus he encountered when he fought with the strange creature back at the forest. His gaze was locked upon the yellow Pegasus who was hiding behind its mane.
"Attention, err... you! Whatever you are." the lavender pony begins. He can tell that pony is a mare due to its girlish voice, but he still doesn't understand what in the world is happening. The lavender continues, "I stand here, by the name of the Princesses to arrest you!"
Rudolf eyes went wide, surely no one- or ponies, are harmed on his way here. Are being entirely different creature is wrong? Especially from a different universe as he was right now? He spoke up to complain, but the guards did not give any chance and raised its spear at him. Slowly moving forward to the German Soldier, he stood back for a moment. He knows that they're clearly outdated equipment is no match for his rifle, but he stood still and lowers his rifle.
The ponies was confused at his action and looked at him, the guards on the other hand. Halted their advance once again as he lowered his rifle, being cautious at the weird creature standing with two feet.
Rudolf finally spoke up, "I come in peace, fellow ponies," raising his hand while putting away his rifle. "I don't want to harm any of you!"
The lavender then took a step forward, hesitating at the tall man. Roughly two-three feet taller than herself, she stood in with both confidence and cautious. She then cleared her throat, "Welcome to Ponyville! I am Princess Twilight Sparkle and this is my friend."
As she finished her sentence, all five ponies -- including the yellow Pegasus -- steps in and introduced them self. The first one was the Orange pony called Applejack, and then the white Unicorn. Calling herself Rarity, followed with a over confidence blue Pegasus named Rainbow Dash. Pink pony bounced up to the air just to introduced herself, she was called Pinkie Pie. And last but not least, the yellow Pegasus. She still hiding behind her mane, and didn't introduced herself unlike the rest of her friend.
Twilight immediately spoke up, calling the yellow Pegasus name. "Fluttershy it's okay, you can introduce yourself. Don't need to be shy." but Fluttershy stood still while her friends poke her.
She jumped in surprised, finally snapping back to reality. She finally introduced herself, "Uuh... umm... hello. M-my name is Fluttershy..."
Rudolf only nodded as they finally introduced them self. He then looked at Twilight, "Tell me. What is this place actually?"
Twilight cleared her throat before explaining. "Well, as you can see. This land was called Equestria, and I welcomed you err..." she stopped mid sentence, then laugh sheepishly at Rudolf. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name."
"My name is Rudolf Von Schreiner. It is a pleasure to meet you... um, ponies."
"Well, hello there Rudolf! It's nice to meet you too," she then turned to the guards, who was still raised their spears toward Rudolf. She announced the guard to at ease and leave them be. The guards nodded, dropping their guard and left the six ponies alone with the strange man.
She once again cleared her throat, "Anyway, what brings you here?"
"Oh, I was accidentally teleported to- whatever this place is," said Rudolf as he look around, starting to see ponies trotting around the town. "Say, isn't this town was empty a moment ago?"
Twilight giggles, "Oh, it was because we thought you're a threat, so we told everypony to hide."
Rudolf was disappointed for a moment, but quickly set it aside. "Ah, I see. It was my fault that made you ponies thinks that."
Before Twilight could speaks up, Pinkie bounced in front of her. "Now, since he's here. Why don't we throw him a party!?"
Twilight, being rudely interrupted is the first one to speak up before anyon- pony could. "No, Pinkie. Throwing a party is not necessary, besides he will not allowed it."
Rudolf, being the one talked about quick steps into the conversation. "Yes, maybe a party is not such a good idea."
Twilight cheered at Rudolf, thanking him for backing up for her. On the other hand, Pinkie's mane dropped down like a balloon, and a disappointed face appeared.
Rudolf, unable to resist the cuteness created by the ponies finally gave in. "Okay, maybe a little."
This made Pinkie's mane returned to normal and then bounced in happiness, cheering out "YES" and told him that it will be the best party ever. Twilight facehoofed while her other friends chuckled.
"I mean come on, Twilight. Nothing is going to happen at a party... right?"
Twilight led the German Soldier to her 'book house', where he can stay for awhile. She doesn't mind taking a visitor, besides there was a spare room on her. She and Rarity doesn't like the idea the new human are going to live on a Barn, there was a little fight now and there, mostly are being where Rudolf will stay. Twilight finally steps in and broke off the little arguement, she offered herself to take him to her place, the library of Ponyville. Giving Rudolf a temporary house in Ponyville, if he decide to stay here in Equestria.
Twilight, being curious as she usually is. Hold her question of why Rudolf had a symbol of an Eagle on above his left pocket and other variety of decorations on his uniform that she couldn't understand. But to break the silence she must ask him something.
"Soo, how do you think of this place so far, Rudolf?" Twilight asked.
"It is pretty lively here, unlike my world. Where everything is hell," Rudolf calmly replied.
"What happen to your world?" Twilight asked again.
Rudolf sighed and told her a single word that left her jaw made a wide 'O' and temporarily stunned by his word. "War."
There was a long silence as both of them walk to a some sort of a tree house, no. It's a literal tree where the inside were furnished with books and other furniture that decorates the house commonly. Rudolf whistle at the sight, unbelieving what he saw in front of him. It did make him frowned for a moment when he saw the tree for the first time, and actually asked Twilight if she actually living in a tree. This was debunked as Twilight showed him the inside.
Twilight let Rudolf inside first before trotting inside. Rudolf dropped his heavy backpack on the couch, taking off his helmet and putting it on top of the backpack, then he took a sit beside it. he still doesn't understand what is actually going on. There was a male voice coming what it seems to be a kitchen, sounded like a boy voice actually. Then a baby dragon walked out of the kitchen.
"Twilight, you're home? Finally, I've been-" the baby dragon didn't finish as he saw a tall hairless-monkey-like creature sitting on the couch.
Rudolf stared at the baby dragon that comes out of the kitchen, the dragon also stared back, making an awkward silence between the two. Realization approach Rudolf and the dragon as he yelled in fright, where it was answered a second later with a same frightened yell by the baby dragon.
"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU!?" both screamed at the same time while pointing at each other.
Twilight broke off the two by introducing and explained to each of them what they are. Spike being a baby dragon while Rudolf being a human. "Now, will you two stop yelling?"
"Alright, we can do that," said the two male. Again, saying almost at the exact same time, only seconds longer.
Twilight turned to Rudolf who was now sitting back in the couch, followed by the baby dragon shortly after.
"Rudolf, do you need anything, water perhaps?" Twilight asked but it was followed with a shook of his head. Saying he doesn't need anything at the moment. "Well then, I will leave you two."
Twilight trotted upstairs to enter her room, but before then, she turned to Rudolf who was still sitting close to Spike. Both was silent, unable to start a conversation. Faint smile appeared on her face before entering her room, slowly closing the door behind her. Rudolf on the other-hoof still tried to process what actually happened to him.
He knew in certain where he is right now, the only thing that concerned him was: How will I return?
