Once upon a time, deep in the lands of Canterlot, the warriors of the Crusading Wondercolts struggle to stay alive as they are attacked by the wicked Servants of the Tiara. Evil reigns as the people beg for their Princesses to save them. Three noble Princesses, known only as Stalwart Bloom, Fair Belle, Speedaloo. For a many years the battles of Card Wars has been waged, with only the bravery, honesty, generosity, and loyalty of the three Princesses to protect their warrior followers.

But even though the Card Wars Princesses push back the Servants' forces with their combined might and skill, the enemy continues their attacks. They seek the most treasured relic of all - The Goddess Card. But the tides of Card Wars are soon to change, as rumors of "new" kid spreads throughout the land. In order to save the people from a terrible fate, the three Princesses must get to new kid - before the Servants can manipulate his mind and USE him, to take the sacred card from the hands of righteousness.

For whomever controls The Goddess Card...controls the fate of the world...

Apple Bloom just finished writing the basis of the game of Card Wars for her friends and even their newest two, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. It had been only a few weeks since they had forgotten their rivalry and chose to be friends after they realized that Diamond's mother, Spoiled Rich, was controlling her and trying to spread her influence everywhere, effectively destroying Diamond and Silver's friendship. But with help of the CMC, Canterlot's Movie Club as they call themselves, they not only stopped Spoiled's mistreatment of Diamond, but got her and Silver back to being friends.

Now, Apple Bloom signed her name on the bottom of the paper, "Okay, y'all! Just sign below, and we can get the game started tomorrow! This is gonna be so much fun!"

Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo signed their names as well, but Diamond and Silver were a bit reluctant.

"Something wrong?" Sweetie asked.

"Yeah, what's up?" Scootaloo added.

"Well..." Diamond began, "Are you sure there's gonna be a new kid coming?"

"Yeah," Silver agreed, "if this kid doesn't show up, we may have to quit the whole thing earlier than expected."

"No worries," Apple Bloom said confidently, "Ah heard from a reliable source that Canterlot High's gonna get a new student in a week from now and he's around our age, so if we start the game tomorrow, it'll somewhat line up with the story we wrote."

"...Okay then." Diamond relented and signed her name.

"If Di's in, then I'm in." Silver signed as well.

"Perfect!" Apple Bloom rolled up the paper, "Now we just need something for The Goddess Card!"

"Leave that to me!" Sweetie declared.

"And I'll prep the War Wrist devices!" Scootaloo added.

They all high-fived together as they became excited for their game, completely unaware of the danger the future holds for them and their game...

A lone boy with brown hair and blue eyes was absentmindedly tinkering with a new device he was given by his parents after they discovered his love for the card game Card Wars; it looked like a cylinder wrist clamp that takes up majority of the forearm, it had a card holder on the left for the creature cards, three slots on the front, back, and right, which are the Activator Slot, Discard Slot, and Card Dispenser respectively, just inside the Card Dispenser is the Deck Holder, which auto-shuffles as it dispenses a card, on the top is a flat screen where the creatures are placed for the Deploy Phase, and just below the Discard Slot is the hologram projector for the creatures, spells, landscapes, and the like, this device is called a War Wrist. The boy was so happy when he got it, now he could play Card Wars on the go, but nobody would play with him because of his immense skill, instead a lot of those people would rather be his friend than get beaten and hate him, it wasn't long after that that he became extremely popular. One day, though, his parents were all frantic, packing all of their belongings and his like the world was going to end in a few mere seconds, all they left out for him were his cards and War Wrist to play with.

The boy's name was Jinn Hubert.

He continued to tinker with his War Wrist until his parents burst in his room and grabbed him, hurriedly getting him and themselves into the family car and drove off in the middle of the night. Even now, he had no idea why they were so spooked, he always thought grown-ups were fearless as he was growing up, but this proved his thoughts otherwise. He had no idea what the future held for him and his family, but he knew one thing that even his logic couldn't refute.

Something bad was going to happen soon.

And he had to be ready for when it does.

A full week had passed and the girls' game was still in full swing; many CHS students and kids joined in with their own War Wrists and Card Wars cards, all choosing their own side, The Crusading Wondercolts or The Servants of the Tiara, and they all were having a lot of fun. While this was happening, Jinn's parents had arrived and started unpacking as Jinn sat in his room looking over his cards.

"Well, I think that's everything." the father said.

"We did it, hon, we're really moved in!" the mother said as the two hugged.

"It's a new beginning for us. Things are finally going to be good!"

"Do you really think it'll be better for...Jinn?"

The two parents looked up towards the stairs in the general direction of their son's room with worry etched on their features.

The father held the mother close as he spoke, "They won't look for him here. We just need to make sure he doesn't attract any unnecessary attention. Come on, let's see how he's doing."

The two climbed the stairs and entered their son's new bedroom, revealing him to be tinkering with his War Wrist and cards again as he looked up at them.

"Hey, champ. How do you like your new room?"

Jinn said nothing, he just looked around and nodded in confirmation.

"I know it's a big change for us, but...Jinn, do you KNOW why we moved to this friendly suburban town?"

Jinn remained silent for a few seconds before shaking his head. The parents whispered to each other.

"He doesn't know." the father said.

"He doesn't know at all." the mother agreed.

"That's good. That's good he doesn't know."

"Um, sweetie, we want you to have lots of fun here. Why don't you go out and make some friends?"

"Right, get outside and PLAY, son. Like...Like normal kids."

Jinn tilts his head in confusion, wondering why his parents were acting so strange.

"We've got some money for you on the kitchen counter, sweetie. Just...be back before it gets dark." the mother offered.

Jinn slightly smiled and nodded.

The father sighed, "Still can't talk, huh?"

"Come on, hon, you know he doesn't talk much."

"I know, I just...wished he could talk to us."

They left Jinn in his room as he prepared to head out, grabbing his Card Wars stuff and the money before leaving the house.

Meanwhile, at Jinn's old house, several government agents and armed gunmen scoured the area for their target, the leader of this division was a man with a black mustache and beard combo, he goes by the name Simon Kingsley, and he controls the Supernatural Division of the American Government.

An agent walked up to him, "He's gone, sir."

"Where?"

"We don't know yet, we have our best investigators looking into it."

Simon sighed, "...Can't believe this. We've never lost a fight, and somehow, a mere child knew about us and hightailed it out of town the first chance he got. What of the parents?"

"No sign."

"...Then keep looking."

The agent saluted and left him to continue the investigation.

"Besides...how far could one kid get?"

Chapter 1: The Three Princesses

View Online

Jinn exited his house and walked down the sidewalk, looking around for someone to play with, it was then he saw two guys, one with two-toned brown hair and brown skin, and the other with black hair and silver skin, ganging up on a girl with long pink and purple hair and pearl white skin, all of them appeared to be his age and using War Wrists. Jinn immediately took cover behind a tree before any of them noticed him and eavesdropped on their Card Wars battle.

"You've got one creature left and we've still got two each of ours! You're finished, Princess Fair Belle!"

"Princess Fair Belle" grit her teeth at the utter hopelessness of this battle, one against four wasn't a fair fight, if only she had...

Suddenly, running footsteps filled the air as Jinn rushed into action with his War Wrist at the ready, standing in between the boys and girl with defiance in his eyes. But he had more than his fair share of unfair Card Wars players, so he knew what it meant to interfere with an ongoing match.

The computerized voice in his War Wrist spoke, "Intrusion Penalty: 2 Creature Cards."

Jinn took two of the five Creature Cards from his Card Holder, Husker Knight and Wandering Bald Man, and sent them to his Discard Slot, paying the penalty for his interference.

"Intrusion Penalty paid. Commence Card Wars."

The Card Dispenser shuffled and dispensed five cards for Jinn just before his Deploy Phase as he placed his go-to creature on the screen, Ultra Dog, and since this battle most likely went for some time before he interfered, his Energy Gauge didn't start off at 2 like usual, instead it started at 9. He took this opportunity to send out his remaining two Creature Cards, Green Mermaid and Angel Heart, leaving him with 7 Energy left, with those he attacked thrice with Angel Heart, which only takes 2 Energy per attack, weakening one of the silver boy's creatures and drawing three new cards, with 1 Energy left, he sent one of the cards in his hand to the Activation Slot, which was a Smelly Belly card, and selected the other creature the silver boy had, the activated card giving the creature 5% Poison for each card in the user's hand, which was 35% Poison. With all that done, Jinn pressed a button on his War Wrist that ended his turn.

It was the silver boy's turn, but once it was, the poison took effect and destroyed his creature, which was weakened long before he arrived by the "Princess". His Creatures were a Cool Dog and a Ninja, he used his Cool Dog to attack twice on Jinn's Angel Heart, greatly weakening it, then ended his turn with two Ghost Thief cards on his Cool Dog, allowing him to draw two new cards. Now it was the "Princess's" turn and the only Creature she had left was a Snake Mint, she played Cotton Storm on the Cool Dog, dealing it 30% damage to its HP and destroying it, leaving only the brown haired boy left with his Creatures, which were Corn Eye Bat and Corn Dog, she attacked Corn Eye Bat twice nearly destroying it, and lastly played the Nicelands landscape card on Jinn's Ultra Dog, which recovers 10% of its HP at the beginning of each one of Jinn's turns.

She simply looked at his confused face and said, "Trust me, you need it more than I do."

Jinn narrowed his eyes and nodded as the brown haired boy's turn began. He attacked Ultra Dog with Corn Dog twice, then used a Lucky Penny card to boost Corn Dog's Attack by 100%, drew a card, and attacked Ultra Dog one last time, leaving its HP very low as Jinn's turn came up again. Jinn played the Blue Eye Ring card on Ultra Dog, which made him draw a card and had Ultra Dog use a Magic Attack on Corn Dog, destroying it, then he used the card he just drew, Abraca Amadeus, and used Angel Heart to launch a Magic Attack on Corn Eye Bat, finishing it off and winning the game.

"Congratulations. You're the Cool Guy." said both Jinn and his partner's War Wrists.

"Whoa, Rumble! This kid is crazy powerful!" the brown haired boy said, "There's no way we can win! We gotta retreat!"

"Grrr! Fine, Button Mash!" Rumble growled out, then they both ran off, but not before he shouts to Jinn, "I won't forget this!"

The "Princess" walked up to Jinn, "Hey, thanks kid, I didn't realize they powered up their Creatures. My name is Sweetie Belle, but..." she motions him to come closer, which he does, and she whispers, "...We're playing a citywide Card Wars game with our own twist, so play along, and call me Princess Fair Belle." she leans back and gets back into character, "I am Princess Fair Belle, one of the three princesses of the Crusading Wondercolts. And what is the name of my rescuer?"

Jinn makes a few motions; a zipped mouth and a cutting motion by his neck as he shakes his head.

"Oh. You're a mute?"

He nods.

"Well, that's okay! I'm still grateful that you helped me. You can tell me your name once we meet the other princesses, okay?"

He nods again.

"Great! Let's go!"

The two of them venture across the neighborhood, narrowly avoid conflict with the enemy group at every corner. Soon, they arrived at what appeared to be a farm with an apple orchard beyond it. Fair Belle knocked on the door to the farmhouse and a girl with rust red hair, yellow skin, and orange eyes opened the door.

Fair bowed, "My fellow princess, Stalwart Bloom, I have barely escaped capture by the Servants of the Tiara, if it wasn't for this new kid here, I would've been held for ransom."

Stalwart bowed back, "I am grateful that you are unharmed, Fair." she turns to Jinn, "So, you are the new kid. Your coming was foretold by a reliable source. As you already heard, I am Princess Stalwart Bloom. But I'm afraid time is not on our side, and we cannot talk just yet. Allow me to show you our Kingdom."

The group made their way through the house, meeting an elderly woman with green skin, snow white hair, and amber eyes, saying, "Ahh, youth." Jinn couldn't help but crack a smile at the kind lady as he continued through the house, until they made it to the backyard.

"Welcome...to the Wondercolt Kingdom!" Stalwart declared.

The area looked hastily made with a castle, a card shop, and many other things. Some of the other players looked towards Jinn and whispering to one another.

Stalwart Bloom walked up to the shop, "The Card Wars card shop is tended by Snips and Snails," she whispered the next bit, "the worst players ever." the two dunderhead looking kids didn't seem to hear her as they waved to Jinn while Stalwart guided him to a group training in Card Wars with a red, puffy haired girl with glasses, "Here you can see our training barracks, overseen by our fifth best player, Twist, who loves making peppermint sticks and candy canes." Stalwart then led Jinn to just outside the castle, where a girl with orange skin, messy, purple hair, and purple eyes, "And this is our third leader and equal, Princess Speedaloo, the most rough and tumble princess you'll ever meet." Speedaloo started shadowboxing as Stalwart whispered to Jinn again, "Don't ask why Scootaloo wanted to be a 'rough and tumble' princess, it's what she wanted." Jinn nodded in understanding as Fair made her way next to her fellow princesses, "You have been sought out, New Kid, because our people are in great danger. We need something from you and, in return, we will allow you into our Kingdom. I know you're very excited. It's time for your first quest, but first - tell us your name."

"Um..." Fair began, "he...doesn't exactly talk. He's a mute."

Stalwart understood and gave him a piece of paper and a pencil as he wrote down his name, Jinn Hubert. Stalwart took the paper and spoke, "You have entered, 'Jinn Hubert', right?"

Jinn nodded.

"You're sure you wanna keep this name?"

He nods again.

"Alright, Jinn. You may now select a class; Frontline, Support, Sleight of Hand, or Berserker. Frontline allows you to jump straight into battle alongside your comrades together, Support has you stay in the rear and help your teammates without conflict, Sleight of Hand allows you to fight on the sidelines hidden from sight, and Berserker makes you fight on your own with all the power at your disposal."

Jinn thought long and hard about it and decided to be in the Frontline Class.

"Welcome to our Kingdom, Jinn of the Frontline!"

"Hear, hear!" the players around you chant.

"Now, please go and visit the card shop. Gather some new cards to boost your current deck, so we may see your skills in action!"

Jinn nods as Stalwart hands him some cardboard coins, and he walks over to the card shop, where Snips and Snails wait for him.

"Would you like to see our wares, weary traveler? Or perhaps you would like to hear tips and rumors for a few coins?"

Jinn picked up a Creature Card, a Cotton Eye Bat, and paid the amount of coins needed to purchase it as the princesses made their way to him.

"We see that you have a new Creature at your disposal, good." Stalwart spoke, "Now it is time to see what you're made of, Jinn. Pipsqueak!"

A boy with pale skin with brown blotches all over him, brown hair, and brown eyes rushes over to your group, "Yes, milady?"

"We would like you to spar with the New Kid, Jinn. We wish to see the power he possesses."

"Umm...you're sure I can do it?"

"Have faith in yourself, Pip." Stalwart turned to Jinn, "Get ready, Jinn. Pip may be nervous, but he's no pushover when he gets serious."

Jinn nods and turns to face Pipsqueak as they both ready their War Wrists.

"Opponent detected...Dispensing starting hand..." the two drew the cards that were given to them.

"Commence Card Wars."

Chapter 2: Practice and The Siege

"Commence Card Wars."

Jinn and Pip were on their Deploy Phase after the coin toss, which ended up allow the former to go first, Jinn deployed his usual Ultra Dog, then Pip deployed a Beach Mum.

"My Creatures shall kick your ass, New Kid!" Pip declared.

"Pip, you have to wait your turn, Jinn won the coin toss." Stalwart reprimanded.

"Aww..."

"Sorry Pip, but that's the rules. Go ahead and make your move, Jinn. Don't be shy."

Jinn nodded and deployed Green Mermaid and Angel Heart with his only 2 Energy, just like in his last battle. Pip's turn came and because the Drag Attack cost for Beach Mum was too much right now, he played a Cactus Costume card and gave his Creature the Thorns buff for three turns. It was Jinn's turn again, but he knew what would happen if he attacked, so instead he used a Ghost Thief card on Green Mermaid to draw a card, then used a Toilet of Gloom card on Pip's Beach Mum, which gave it Attack Down for three turns.

"Not bad, Jinn," Stalwart praised, "but Card Wars is more than just buffs and debuffs, wait for an opening once the Thorns buff wears off and strike!"

Beach Mum
Thorns: 3 > 2 Turns
Attack Down: 3 > 2 Turns

Pip's turn started and now he attacks Angel Heart with Beach Mum, but thanks to Attack Down, it barely did a thing. Since Pip used up all his Energy in that Drag Attack, he had no choice but to end his turn. Jinn now had 4 Energy and used two Toilet Token cards to poison Beach Mum by 20% in total, then used an Alien Abduction card to extend Attack Down by two more turns and add 10% more poison, ending his turn as he ran out of Energy.

Beach Mum
Attack Down: 2 + 2 = 4 Turns

Beach Mum
Thorns: 2 > 1 Turns
Attack Down: 4 > 3 Turns
Poison: 30%

The moment it was Pip's turn, the poison did its job and dropped Beach Mum's HP by almost half its maximum, Pip had Beach Mum attack Angel Heart again, then he played Thorny Tome on Beach Mum, which allows Pip to draw a card, but if the Creature he used it on has the Thorns buff, he's allow to draw two cards instead of one, which he did before he ended his turn. Jinn decided that it was time to nip this battle in the bud, he used the last card in his hand, Abraca Amadeus, to have Ultra Dog use a Magic Attack on Beach Mum, severely weakening it, but using the card used up all of Jinn's Energy, so he had to end his turn.

"Uh-oh..." Pip mumbled.

Beach Mum
Thorns: 1 > 0 Turns
Attack Down: 3 > 2 Turns
Poison: 30%

Unfortunately for Pip, the poison finished the job and diminished the rest Beach Mum's HP, destroying it and making Jinn the victor.

"Congratulations. You're the Cool Guy."

"Very impressive." Stalwart complimented, "You beat Pip in less than five turns and you didn't even use a Drag Attack. You have proven yourself worthy to see the relic that brought on this conflict, meet us in the castle."

The three princesses left and entered the makeshift castle as Jinn went to the card shop and gotten another Creature card, Snake Mint, before heading inside the castle.

As Jinn entered, he noticed that the princesses were eagerly awaiting his arrival.

Stalwart motioned behind her, "Here it is. The reason why people have been divided and locked into a never-ending war. The relic that Wondercolt and Servant are willing to die for..."

Jinn saw the relic that sat behind her and the other princesses; a card that had the image of a female higher being surrounded by angels.

"...The Goddess Card." Stalwart continued, "Two days ago, we took the Card back from the Servants of the Tiara. Our Kingdom was dying, but now it thrives. For whomever controls The Goddess Card, controls the fate of the world." Stalwart and the other princesses guided Jinn to the side, away from The Goddess Card, "Now that you have seen The Goddess Card, we must plan our next course of action. It's only a matter of time before--"

Suddenly, an alarm started blaring out around the area, and Pip rushed in with a smartphone in his hand using an alarm app.

"Pip?! What's going on?!" Speedaloo asked, surprised.

"The Servants are attacking the Kingdom!" he said.

"Shoot!" Stalwart cursed, "I didn't think they'd strike this soon! Quick everyone, defensive positions!"

Jinn and the princesses ran out of the castle to see what the commotion is.

"Man the gate! Nothing and nobody gets in!" Stalwart commanded.

"Give us the Card, Wondercolts!" one of the Servants ordered.

"Screw that noise, Servant! Take it if you can!" Speedaloo said back, then turned to Snips and Snails, "I can't believe I'm saying this...Snips! Snails! Guard The Goddess Card while our troops defend the Kingdom!"

"Righty-o, boss!" they both saluted and ran into the castle.

Speedaloo sighed, "Why did we let them play with us again...?" she turns to Jinn, "Jinn, this is your chance to prove that you can truly hold your own. Push back the enemy forces at any cost!"

Jinn nods and rushes into Card Wars battle.

Meanwhile...

Three lone girls wearing hoodies and sweatpants were watching the commotion at the Apple's Farm; the leader had big, poofy orange hair with yellow streaks, yellow skin, and rose eyes, the second in command had long purple pigtails with aquamarine streaks, pink skin, and purple eyes, and the last one had light blue hair with mulberry streaks, blue skin, and rose eyes.

"Ugh...!" the pigtailed girl groaned, "Why are we even spying on these kids, Adagio? The Rain-blooms, or whatever they're called, have been at some camp for the whole week. So why are we watching these kids run around like idiots?"

"Because, Aria," Adagio began, "I'm hoping to see where the Rainbooms get their power from, but...I think I have another plan. Sonata, bust out the emergency savings and buy us some Card Wars cards and those War Wrist things."

Sonata gasped loudly, "We're gonna finally play Card Wars?! For realizes?!"

"But why, Adagio?" Aria asked.

"Let's just say I..." she started as she gazed at a certain boy with malicious smirk on her face, "...have a hunch."

Back with Jinn and the Wondercolt Kingdom, he was pushing back all of the Servants forces with relative ease, he assumed that the Servants he's facing must be the grunts.

"Congratulations. You're the Cool Guy."

With last battle fought and won, the Servant grunts began to stand up after being knocked down by Jinn and his Creatures.

"Servants! Fall back! Fall back I say!" the leader of the grunts shouted as the enemy troops ran off.

"We did it! We protected The Goddess Card!" Stalwart declared.

"Huzzah!" the Wondercolt army cheered.

Just then, a guilty looking Snips and Snails walked up to the princesses, "It's gone." Snips said.

The princesses looked shocked, then Speedaloo deadpanned, "...What."

"The Goddess Card. The Servants took it." Snails said.

A tense silence followed his words, then Speedaloo exploded.

"THAT WAS YOUR ONE STINKING JOB, YOU TWO!! TO GUARD THE STINKING GODDESS CARD!!"

Stalwart groaned in exasperation.

Fair spoke next, "Right, just for that, we're kicking you two out of the game."

"What?!" Snips yelped.

"You can't do that! We like this game!" Snails protested.

"We created this game, so we call the shots!" Speedaloo countered, "And we say you two are out of the game!"

"Yeah! Go home guys!" Pip jeered.

Dejectedly, Snips and Snails left the Kingdom and the farm altogether as Stalwart addressed Jinn, "You fought courageously on the battlefield, Jinn."

"Yeah, I agree," Twist spoke with a lisp, "And might I add, he's also easy on the eyes..."

"True, but we're not at that point in the game yet. Anyways, we now have a massive problem! The Goddess Card has been taken from us and we must assemble our entire army to retrieve it."

"But milady, three of our best players still haven't reported for duty yet!" Pip interjected.

"Our newest soldier can take care of that! Jinn, we want you to go out into the Canterlot neighborhood and gather our best players; Tender Taps, Zipporwhill, and Babs Seed. Here's their character sheets with their pictures on them." Stalwart handed Jinn the sheets as he looked them over and nodded, "But beware...the roads are full of dangers, from Servants all the way down to Crystal Preppers, don't ask. Make sure you are well equipped with good cards. Now go! And bring our fellow comrades!"

Jinn nods in confirmation.

"Pip, go with him in case there are more opponents than one and even the odds."

Pip bows, "At once, milady."

Pip is now Jinn's partner in battle. With his path set, Jinn, along with his friend, head out to gather the remaining members of the Crusading Wondercolts, completely unaware that they are being followed by three figures...
