> Equestria Girls: Time, Space and Justice > by Time Agent pony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earth, the present day, The Tower of Justice. "Stop!" cried Clerk Kent a.k.a. Superman, as he and some of the Justice Force members closed in on their target. "We're taking you down!" Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron man declared. With that, the Justice Force engaged their target. Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America throwing his shield, Jane Foster a.k.a. Thor hurling her hammer, Superman firing his heat-vision and Barry Allen a.k.a. Flash using his super speed. All the attacks hit home, knocking the villain to the ground, he seemed defeated. The villain laughed, "you think you've won?" he asked, "only I know how this all turns out." "Cease thy prattling, villain!" Thor commanded. The villain smirked, "none of you know it, yet," he said, "but you already dead." "What are you talking ab.....?" was all Peter Parker a.k.a. Spiderman could say, before he noticed that he was beginning to evaporate. He gazed in horror, as the rest of the Justice Force also started to disintegrate. Soon, there was nothing left of the Justice Force, it was as if they had never been there. The villain looked over the spot where the Justice Force had been. "And so ends the Justice Force," the mysterious villain smiled. Elsewhere. Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Sunset Shimmer along with some their superhero friends and teammates (from their superhero team, the Champions) were relaxing at the beach. Starlight Glimmer was not among them, she had returned to Equestria, which meant that her Mare-Do-Well costume had to be left behind, it was now hanging in Sunset's wardrobe in her apartment. Along with that, Twilight's brother Shining Armour had been going on dates with Twilight's old dean, who was now Principle of Twilight's old school, Crystal Prep, Cadance and was planning to propose to her at some point. Everyone was happy and having a good time. Some of the girls and their friends were enjoying the sunshine, the others were using their powers to enhance their beach experience. "Ah, what a beautiful day," Sunset Shimmer remarked, leaning back in her sun chair. "Indeed," Princess Koriand'r a.k.a. Starfire of the Teen Titans nodded, "the day is beautiful." Starfire was enjoying her down time with the Champions. "I don't think anything can ruin this gorgeously beautiful day," Rarity smiled. "Yeah," Rainbow Dash said, as she return to her surfing time, "there's nothing that can ruin this awesome day," she was accompanied by one of the girl's new friends Lara Dos Santos a.k.a. Shark-Girl, a mutant with the ability to transform into a humanoid shark. Every since the girls and the rest of The Champions had defeated the fear entity Parallax and saved Green lantern, Hal Jordan. More and more heroes had come out retirement, heroes like: Miracleman, Ragman, Prowler, Icon, etc. Along with that, more and more teenage meta humans and mutants were appearing like: Kid Kaiju, Argent, Sunspot, and Lagoon Boy. In Hal Jordan's absences The Guardians of the Universe had given a green ring to a young teenager named Kyle Rayner. Since they had lantern rings themselves, the CHS Main Seven had begun training him on how to control his ring's power. As well as individual heroes, some old superhero teams were beginning to resurface like: Fantastic Four, The Doom Patrol, Power Pack, the Metal Men and the Great Lakes Avengers. After the mass prison breakout, some villains and evil mutants had managed to be recaptured, but others had managed to evade capture. The world had undergone an awakening, CHS had decided to open its doors to mutants and inhumans as well as human students, "We are accepting people from all walks of life," Principle Celestia had said. The government had even agreed to grant mutants equal rights and dismantled the Sentinel programme and shut down all mutant prisons and containment facilities, there were still a few select people, who were opposed to the idea. Since then, CHS had received more students, the human students didn't seem to mind mutants and inhumans attending the school, eveyone seemed to get along fine. Piotr "Peter" Rasputin a.k.a. Colossus had accepted Applejack's offer and had started working for her family, at Sweet Apple Acres, helping out Applejack, Big Mac and Apple Bloom when they harvested their apple orchard. He had gotten on well with the Apple family, especially with Apple Bloom, because Colossus himself had a little sister. "That Colossus is one nice, fella," Granny Smith had said, with a smile. Just then, back at the beach, the radio, that the girls had been using to listening to music, interrupted everyones merriment. "breaking news, an unidentified object is attacking downtown," a reporter was saying, "what looks like giant robots are being launched from the object and attacking bystanders, many civilians injured." "Sounds bad," Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksliver said, "maybe we should check it out and see if we can help." "Why, worry?" Cindy Moon a.k.a. Silk, remarked, "the Justice Force probably got the situation under control." Silk had the similar powers to Peter Parker a.k.a. Spiderman, though her powers were more distant, due her being bitten by the same spider that gave Peter his powers. Twilight was about to answer, but was interrupted as the news report continued, "something else appears to be exiting the lead object, it appears to be a man." Shortly after that, a voice came through the radio, "People of the 20th century, I am Kang the Conquer, thousands of civilisations have fallen to my forces, and your city will far no better, no one throughout time, in all of space, has ever been able to best me, all hail Kang!" When the voice had finished, the news reporter started talking again, "This 'Kang the Conquer' has made his intensions pretty clear, we have no hope of defeating a force like that, this is....." Before the news reporter could finish he was cut off. "This is really strange," Twilight said, "surly the Justice Force would have responded to this by now." "Maybe they're on a break," suggested Doreen Allene Green a.k.a. Squirrel Girl. "They protect the world 24/7," Rainbow Dash replied, "they can't just vanish like this." "Maybe they're off world," proposed Applejack. "Then why didn't someone tell us?" Fluttershy queried. "Yeah, its very strange indeed," Pinkie Pie nodded. "Well," Rarity said, finally, "there are innocent people in danger, we can't just sit by while that happens." Without another word, The girls and the rest of The Champions rushed off to save the day. Downtown. The girls and The Champions, some in their street clothes and others in superhero uniforms, arrived on the scene, meeting up with Gwendolyn "Gwen" Poole a.k.a. Gwenpool, another member of The Champions. "Whoa," Rainbow Dash said, looking up at the gigantic ship, which was shaped like a sword, hanging in the sky above the city, "that's one big ship." "Has anyone seen Superman or Ironman?" Sunset asked, some nearby civilians. "Forgive me for asking," one of the civilians replied, "who?" "You know, Superman, the Man of Steel and Ironman, the Iron Avenger," Pinkie Pie answered. "Sorry," another civilian responded, "but there's never been Superman or Ironman here at all." "This is a joke, right?" Rainbow Dash said, "Superman is the greatest hero on the planet." "Are you having a laugh?" a nearby police officer asked, "I don't know anyone called Superman around here or anywhere." "Guys, the whole city has gone nuts," Quicksilver replied, dashing over to the group, "I keep asking if anyone has seen The Justice Force and everyone thinks I'm making names up." "What is going on?!" Twilight asked out loud. The girls and The Champions all stared around them, in shock and horror. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "This is not happening!" Rainbow Dash cried, "this can't be happening!" "This doesn't make any sense," Twilight said, "how has everyone possibly forgotten The Justice Force and every single hero on earth?" "The Memory Stone can't be behind this," Sunset stated, "we destroyed it." "Maybe this is a bad dream," Applejack suggested, she pinched herself to make sure she and the others weren't dreaming. They weren't dreaming. "I think we should do some research," Twilight proposed, "its safer then jumping to conclusions." Twilight's house, Everyone gathered round Twilights computer as she plugged in the teen meta human hard drive, a hard drive given to her my Steven Rogers a.k.a. Captain America which contained the identities of every teenage meta human on the planet. "We need to check and see if there any young metas we can organise" Twilight said, as the hard drive booted up, "that might help us find any clues that might tell us where the Justice Force has gone." As soon as the hard drive had finished booting up, Twilight opened it up, everyone gasped. The drive was completely empty, every single name that used to be on it had been wiped. "Wh....bu....?!" was all Twilight could say. The shock of the this revelation, then turned to horror as Silk collapsed to the floor. "Arr, guys," she uttered, weakly "I don't feel so good." Everyone turned and a horrible sight met their eyes. Silk was fading away. Soon enough she had dissolved into nothing. It looked like she had never been there. Before anyone could say anything, Starfire, Shark Girl, Quicksliver and Squirrel Girl all began fading too. Even Squirrel Girl's squirrel sidekick Monkey Joe also faded away. Within seconds they had all evaporated into nothing. The only ones who seemed unaffected by what was happening were the girls and Gwenpool. "OK," Sunset said, her voice beginning to shake, "what the heck is going on?!" Suddenly, a message began to play on Twilight's computer. "Citizens of earth, rejoice, Kang the Conquer, your lord and saviour stands on high, you need to not fear, soon you will no longer know hunger, loss or pain. All of humanity will look to Kang as the leader to show them the way, and for those you who have any ideas of opposing Kang the Conquer, know this, all those who appose Kang will be crushed." The message ended. "Well," Applejack spoke up, "what do we do now?" "What can we do?" Twilight replied, "everyone has vanished it's just the eight of us against an entire armada." "It's hopeless," agreed Fluttershy. Even the usual bubbly Gwenpool could see how heavy the odds were staked against them. "I cannot believe what I am hearing!" Rainbow Dash cried, "you all are going to give up, just like that?!" "Even with our rings," Sunset began, "what chance do we......" "You guys are forgetting the most important part of being a Champion," Rainbow Dash interrupted, "as long as there is life, there is always hope." Rainbow Dash's ring glowed brightly, she was not one to give up or lose hope so easily. "You know what," Pinkie smiled, "Dashie's right, we're still here and thats all we need." "Alright then," Applejack nodded, "time to power up and pony up." "Thats the spirit!" Rainbow Dash answered. With that, the girls and Gwenpool rushed off to confront Kang the Conquer. Back in downtown. The girls and Gwenpool arrived at the spot they had left. The giant sword-like ship was still hung motionless above the city. "Kang!" Rainbow Dash called, "show yourself!" Nothing happened. "Whats the matter, Kang?" Gwenpool asked, "chicken?" After another moment of silence, a figure materialised in front of the group. "You dare mock, Kang the Conquer, primatives!?" Nathaniel Richards a.k.a. Kang the Conquer demanded, as he stepped forward. "What have you done?!" Sunset shouted, "where are the Justice Force! where are our friends! Tell us! Or we'll......!" Kang laughed, "Avenge them? You think yourselves the new Justice Force?" Kang then noticed, the girls' rings, "lantern rings?" he said, "impossible! But irrelevant." "Tell us!" Twilight demanded, "where are our friends and the Justice Force?!" "You think you command me, primitive!?" Kang responded, "Kang the Conquer takes orders from no one!" "Whatever!" Rainbow Dash cried, "Kang, prepare to get your rump kicked back to Dimension X." Everyone stared at her, in confusion. "Dimension X?" Sunset asked. "What," Rainbow Dash replied, "Isn't Kang that evil alien brain dude that the Ninja Turtles sometimes fight?" "Wrong comic book, Rainbow," Gwenpool commented. "Yeah," Pinkie Pie nodded "You're thinking of KRANG, Dashie." "Enough!" Kang thundered, "the eight of you are no match for me!" "Bring it on!" Applejack declared. Kang simply smiled, as a large gun and an energy blade materialised in his hands. "Ready, girls?" Twilight asked, the green flames of her ring glowing brightly. The rest of the girls nodded, their rings also glowing brightly. Gwenpool also readied herself, drawing out her twin katanas. Kang opened fired on the team, which they were able block using their rings. "Diamond storm!" Rarity cried, she used her geode's power, to create diamond constructs, along with her ring constructs to launch an almighty attack in Kang's direction. This was followed by Rainbow Dash and Applejack, summoning up a train and plane that rammed into Kang. Next, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Gwenpool attacked together, Fluttershy summoning up a bear construct, and using her geode's power, to communicate with animals, to call forth a flock of birds to fly at Kang. Pinkie hurled anything she could get her hands on, her geode's power, to make anything explode by touching it. Lastly Gwenpool clashed blades with Kang, the confrontation was cut short when Kang sliced off the ends of her katanas. "Oh, no," Gwenpool said, she dodged back to avoid Kang's blade, "good thing I carry spares," she smiled, and pointed a bazooka at Kang and fired. Finally, Sunset and Twilight released an almighty blast from their rings. "I think we got him," Twilight panted. As the dust from the girls attack cleared, everyone gasped Kang stood there, unharmed. "Primitive insects," Kang smirked, "you really thought you could defeat Kang. The Conquer." "Stop saying your name," Pinkie Pie sighed, "we know who you are." Kang aimed his gun at the group. But before he could fire, Gwenpool tossed a flash grenade in Kang's direction. A few seconds later the grenade went off. "Run!" Twilight cried, while Kang was temporarily blinded. Without another word, the group took to the sky, Applejack scooping up Pinkie Pie and Gwenpool with her ring. "Only these eight aren't effected," Kang said, to himself as the effects of the flash grenade wore off, "no matter, these eight heroes won't be a match for my entire armada." With that, Kang teleported back up to his ship. Elsewhere. "I think this is far enough," Twilight said. She and the others touched in an allyway, a few block away. "What was that?" Rainbow Dash asked, "our attacks didn't even phase him." "Kang's like nothing we've fought before," Applejack said. "Who is he?" Sunset asked, "where does he even come from?" "Not where," a voice answered, "but when." The group turned to see a mysterious being, who had appeared in the allyway. "Who are you?" Fluttershy queried. "Yeah," Pinkie Pie added, "my mum always warned me about talking to strangers." "I am no one," the figure replied, "but I can answer your questions about Kang the Conquer." "What did you mean when you said 'when'?" Twilight asked. "Kang hails from the 40th century," the figure began, "he rules over the earth of future, under his rule the earth has prospered, they're technology has eliminated hunger, pain and suffering, but at the cost of his brutal regime." "The 40th century?" Sunset said, "Kang's from the future?" The figure nodded. "Do you know what has happened to the Justice Force and our friends?" Fluttershy asked. "Kang's forces have been traveling throughout time," the figure replied, "eliminating any incarnations of the Justice Force they find." "Which would explain why the Justice Force vanished," Twilight said, after some thinking, "and it also explains why our friends vanished as well." "What do ya mean, Twi?" Applejack inquired. "Some of our friends were inspired by the actions of the Justice Force," Twilight explained. "So?" Rainbow Dash said. "So," Twilight continued, "if the heroes like Spiderman, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel Carol Danvers never existed in the first place." "Then," Rarity concluded, "Miles Morales, Donna Troy and Kamala Khan would never have gotten the inspiration to become the heroes they are now." "How do we know we can trust you, anyway?" Applejack asked, "you never even said your name." "I am The Phantom Stranger," the figure answered, "I am simply a traveller, fate's faithful servant." "Can you help us fix this?" Sunset asked. "I cannot aid you in this," The Phantom Stranger replied, "I can only guide to where you need to go." He handed Twilight a small card, "this will point you to the person who will be able to help you," he said. "Thank yo...." Twilight began, only to stop as The Phantom Stranger had disappeared. "So what do we do?" Rainbow Dash asked. Twilight looked down at the card, it had an address on it. "I guess we should go to this address," she replied. The others all nodded, it was as good a plan as any. With that, the group headed to the address on the card. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight and the others arrived at the address The Phantom Stranger had given them. "Well," Twilight said,"this looks like the place." It was an abandoned section of town, that had seen better days. "You sure this is the place, Twi?" Applejack asked. Twilight glanced at the address again, to make sue they were in the right place. "Yep," she replied, "this is address on the card." "I'm beginning to think that stranger guy was lying to us," Rainbow Dash remarked. "I don't think The Phantom Stranger was lying," Sunset said. "Then what did he except us to find here?" Applejack asked. "Right on time," a voice answered. All the girls turned to see a figure wearing trench coat, approaching them. "Who are you?" Twilight asked. "Rip Hunter," the figure replied, "I'm from east London, oh, and the future." "Have you been waiting for us, this whole time?" Rainbow Dash queried. "Yes," Rip answered, "one of the drawbacks of being a time traveller." "What?" Twilight and Sunset exclaimed, together. Rip nodded, "As it happens, I'm a member of the Time Masters, an organisation tasked with protecting history itself." "So if your a time traveller," Rainbow Dash said, "then wheres your time machine?" In response, Rip produced a small device from his coat. "First role of being a time master," he smiled, "never do anything that will disrupt the timeline, can you imagine what time machine would look like in the middle of, say, Victorian England?" With that, Rip activated the device and his time ship appeared. All the girls and Gwenpool, stared in awe at the futuristic craft. "It's called the Waverider," Rip continued, "it's been my ship for over a decade." He turned back to see the looks on the girls faces, "what?" he said, "were you expecting something else? Like a blue police box or a Delorean? That is so last century." "Anyway," Rip concluded, "now all that is out of the way, we can be on our way." With that, Rip headed towards the Waverider. Still with the awestruck looks on their face the girls followed Rip inside the Waverider. "Did you see that?" Twilight squealed, "holographic indigenous camouflage projection!" Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles. Kang sat at a table, his wife Princess Ravonna Lexus Renslayer sat beside him, around the table sat different figures, each one a different version of Kang himself, these being: Scarlet Centurion, Rama-Tut, Immortus, Kangaroo the Conquer and Iron Lad, together the six of them formed the Council of Kangs. "So," Scarlet Centurion said, "these eight humans remember the Justice Force." "Who is this possible?" Rama-Tut asked. "It matters not," Kang answered, "when we have completely wiped the Justice Force from the fabric of existence, the eight of them will be nothing more than, insects to be crushed under foot." "Nevertheless," Immortus interjected, "they could prove to a problem, especially at this stage of our plans." "Agreed," Kangaroo nodded, "we should send some select individuals to hinder them." Back onboard the Waverider. The girls gazed around them as they followed Rip to the bridge of the time ship. "I've always seen this in the comics," Gwenpool squealed, "I can't believe I'm standing in The Waverider." "I just... I thought...! I can't...!" Twilight continued, looking around at the interior of the Waverider. Sunset was equally taken in by the time ship, only she was able to keep her awe of the ship under control. "This ship is impressive," she said, "it must take an enormous amount of power to run it." "It probably uses ionic propulsion," Twilight suggested, "I mean if you stabilised the quantum flux." Twilight paused for breath, Sunset smiled at that, "You sure know a lot about this stuff," she remarked. "I do a lot of research," Twilight replied. By now, the girls and Gwenpool had arrived on the bridge of the Waverider. "If this is your ship," Fluttershy commented, "then where is your crew?" "I don't need a crew," Rip answered, "I've have Gideon." Fluttershy was ask who Gideon was, when a holographic head appear on the console in the centre of the room. "Welcome aboard," the head greeted, "I am Gideon, an interactive artificial consciousness programmed to operate this vessel's critical systems and to aid Captain Hunter on his mission." "No way!" Twilight gasped, beginning to start another of geek out moments, "its a real, fully functioning AI!" "Twilight, breath," Sunset said. "Don't take this away from me!" Twilight replied. Sunset laughed a little at that. "Anyway," Rip continued, "Gideon's been helping locate any time period that Kang's forces haven't already been to." "And if we get to them first," Sunset finished, "we'll be able to save the heroes of that time period." "Precisely," Rip answered, "and then we take the fight to Kang himself, we takeout Kang and we can undo everything." "That sounds like a plan," agreed Rainbow Dash. "In that case," Rip concluded, "if we're all agreed, we can be on our way." He strapped himself into the Waverider's pilot seat. "I suggest you all strap yourselves in," Rip said, as the Waverider's engines began to start up, "the temporal navigation isn't something one whats to be standing up for." The girls all nodded, strapping themselves into the seats near and around the pilots seat. "I should warn you," Rip added, "the human body is used to time unfolding linearly, so you may experience some slight discomfort, in very rare instances there will be some," he hesitated, for a moment, "bleeding from the eyeballs," he mumbled. "Excuse me," Rarity exclaimed, "what?!" "Can you believe this?" Twilight squealed, "we're going to travel through time! This is so exciting!" With that, Rip activated the Waverider's time drive and the time ship took off into the sky, vanishing from the present. Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles. "So," Kang said, "the heroes have joined up with the time master." "We must act," Rama-tut declared, "we must strike, before they unravel everything we have accomplished." Just then, one of Kang's subordinates entered the room. "My lords," he said, "the ones you sent for have arrived." "Excellent," Immortus smiled, "show them in." The subordinate stepped aside, revealing some shadowy figures, each one a evil, twisted or insane version of a Justice Force member. "Welcome," Kangaroo smiled, as he walked up to the figures, "Thank you, for accepting our invitation," One of the figures stepped forward, he looked like Superman, only instead of an S on his chest he had a U. "Happy to help," he smiled. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The past, South Dakota in the year 1871 The Waverider materialised in the Old West, cloaking itself after landing. "We have arrived," Rip said, as he powered down the time drive, "our first stop." Twilight was about say something but was cut short, as she threw up over the floor. "Ah," Rip said, "I forgot to mention some of the side effects of time travel include: nausea....." Rip was about to list the rest of the side effects, but was interrupted by Fluttershy as she began to loose her balance and fall over. "Vertigo," he continued. "I'm blind! I can't see!" Rarity cried, "this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!" "Temporary blindness," Rip carried on, "don't worry it will fade." "What did you say?" Rainbow Dash asked, cupping a hand to her ear, "I can't hear you." "Temporary deafness," Rip continued. Applejack opened her mouth, but all that came out was a jumble of gibberish. "And linguistic disorientation," Rip finished. "So where are we?" Fluttershy asked, as she recovered from the vertigo. "I think a better question to ask," Twilight said, as she struggled to hold back her nausea, "is when are we?" "We have arrived in South Dakota, 1871," Gideon answered. "You mean we're in the Old West?" Gwenpool asked. "This is awesome!" Rainbow Dash declared, her deafness had by now worn off. "So," Rip said, "now that we're here, we should work out a plan before we go rushing in guns blazing." "Right," Sunset nodded. "This time period," Rip explained, "along with three others are the only periods Kang and his forces haven't got to yet." "So, we should split into teams of two," Sunset continued, "that way we can cover more ground." "Then which one of us should head into the time period we're in now?" Twilight asked. "I believe that Miss Applejack would best suited for this mission," Rip replied. "Darn tootin'" Applejack smiled, "Gwenpools coming with me." With that the two turned to leave the ship. "I think it might be best if you put on something a little more appropriate," Rip said, before the two could leave the bridge. "Good point," Gwenpool nodded. "The ship can make what you need," Rip added, "stop by the Fabrication room before you leave." With that, Applejack and Gwenpool left the bridge. Moments later, the two reappeared, wearing old western attire, complete to spurs on their boots. Gwenpool was sporting a pink Stetson, pink cowboy boots and a poncho. While Applejack, still wearing her treasured hat, was sporting a western shirt, coat, and trousers. "How we look?" Applejack asked. "Fabulous," Rarity answered. "Then we're ready," Gwenpool smiled. "I cannot emphasise how important it is that you succeed, at saving the heroes of this period," Rip said, grimly, "because if you don't, this is the world you will return too." On the central console, an image of desolate and lifeless earth appeared. "The earth will be decimated by a war between Darkseid, Thanos, Apocalypse and Kang," Rip explained, "the earth's population is all but wiped out, mutants, Inhumans and meta humans are ether killed, enslaved or turned into Darkseid's servents." "Thats not going to stand," Sunset said. "In that case," Applejack smiled, "we've got a future save, I say we go save it." "One more thing," Rip added. He handed the two small watch-like devices. "What are these?" Gwenpool asked. "Once you've succeed," Rip Explained, "activate these recall devices and you'll be transported back to the Waverider." "Ok," Applejack nodded, as she and Gwenpool took the devices, "we're ready." With that, Applejack and Gwenpool exited the Waverider. The ship taking off to its next destination. The future, New York in the year 2069. The Waverider touched down in the futuristic city of New York. "Welcome to the future," Rip announced. "The year 2069, to be precise," Gideon added. "2069," Twilight repeated, "we're in 2069." "Twilight," Sunset said, as her friend began to hyper ventilate, "breath." "This one of two futures that hasn't been effected by Kang's time meddling," Rip stated, "yet." "In this time period, much has changed since your time," Gideon explained, "the heroes of this period you will have to save are the Justice Force Beyond." "I'll go," Twilight perked up, "we're in the future, how could I pass up an opportunity like this?" "I guess I have to come too," Sunset smiled, "someone has to keep an eye on you." With that, Twilight and Sunset head for the Fabrication room. "I can't wait to see what the fashion of the future is like," Rarity squealed. A moment later, Twilight and Sunset returned, wearing exactly the same clothes just darker and recall devices on their wrists. "Well," Rarity commented, sadly, "that's anti-climatic." London, 1889 "Our second to last stop," Rip said. "Welcome 1889s London," Gideon added. "Sounds like a mission for you Miss Rarity," Rip smiled. "You are most certainly right," Rarity nodded, "if history lessons have taught me anything is that the fashion of this period is simply divine." Rarity, still we an excited look on her face, hurried out of the room, after which she returned wearing a detective style outfit. "Well, what do you think?" Rarity asked, "I modelled it after the adventures of Shadow Spade." "I don't think thats quiet an appropriate outfit for this time period," Rip replied. "You might want to select something little more form fitting for this mission," Gideon added. Grumbling slightly, Rarity left the bridge. She returned, moments later, Rarity reappeared this time wearing a slightly more accurate outfit. "Much better," Rip nodded. "Its not quiet, what I had in mind," Rarity said, looking down at the outfit, "but I suppose it will have to do." "I think that you and Fluttershy will be perfect for this mission," Rip continued. "Oh, OK," Fluttershy replied. Smiling Rarity led Fluttershy out of the bridge to the Fabrication room. The 31st century. "Welcome to the 31st century," Rip declared, "home of the Legion of Superheroes." "At this point and time," Gideon explained, "humanity has become closed off and repressive, society thinks that physical contact of any kind is unsettling, the heroes of this time have taken it upon themselves to remind the population of the values of love, tolerance and friendship that you and your friends embodied through your actions and music." "Sounds like a mission for someone as awesome as me," Rainbow Dash smiled. "Count me in too," Pinkie nodded, "someone got to remind the people of the 31st century how to party." Without another word, both Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash headed for the Fabrication room. Moments later, the two returned to the bridge. "Alright," Rainbow Dash said, "we're ready." "But your not wearing anything different," Rip sputtered, "your wearing exactly the same clothes you were wearing when you left the bridge?!" "Yeah," Rainbow Dash replied, "I wouldn't be caught dead wearing any of the clothes the Fabrication room made for us." "Well," Rip said, reluctantly, "I suppose I can let this slide, just this once." "Yay," Pinkie smiled. With that, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, after collecting the recall devices from Rip, dashed out of the Waverider. "Do you think they'll succeed, Captain Hunter?" Gideon asked, once the last of the girls had left the ship. "They have to Gideon," Rip answered, "otherwise, Kang wins and all hope is lost." Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles. "So it has begun," Kang smirked. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles. "You understand what you must do?" Kang asked, as he addressed his other selves and his recruits. The newcomers to Kang's army were: The Justice Lords, The Maestro, The Crime Syndicate, Hydra Four, The Justness League, Titus, The Dark Knights, The Elements of Insanity, The Fatal Five, Composite Superman, Superboy Prime and other evil versions of well known heroes. All of the recruits nodded. "Then without further ado," Kang continued, "my associates will guide you to your destinations." With that, the evil mirror heroes along with Scarlet Centurion, Rama-Tut, Immortus and Kangaroo the Conquer left the room. "Forgive me my Kang," Ravonna said, as soon as everyone had left, "but do you think this is wise, sending those villains to take down eight humans, it seems like overkill." "I must be done, Ravonna," Kang replied, "I must exterminate these interlopers before they undo everything I have worked so hard to accomplish." "But, my Kang...." Revonna began. "Enough, Revonna!!!!" Kang commanded. Without another word, Revonna obeyed. Unbeknown to Kang, a figure had been watching the two of them and he looked worried. Back in the 1781. "Well," Applejack said, as she and Gwenpool entered the town of Salvation, "I guess we should start looking for the heroes we have to save." "How about we check in there?" Gwenpool suggested, pointing towards the town saloon. "Good thinking, Gwen," Applejack nodded. Without another word, the two headed for the saloon. "Alright," Applejack murmured, "keep your eyes open, the heroes could be anywhere." "Got it," Gwenpool replied. The two walked up to the bar. "What can I get ya, strangers?" the bartender asked, as they approached. "Applecider for me," Applejack replied. "Strawberry milkshake," Gwenpool said, "stirred not shaken." "Then it wouldn't a milkshake," the bartender responded. "Did I stutter?" Gwenpool answered. The bartender nodded and began making their drinks. While they waited for their drinks, Applejack and Gwenpool gazed around the saloon, searching for any sign of the heroes they were looking for, only now realising that Rip hadn't told them who they were suppose to look for. Suddenly from outside, there came the sound of shooting, which followed by screams and people running "What in tarnation is going on?" Applejack asked. The answer came shortly after, a gang of four men each with the same face and each taller then the first, walked into the saloon each carrying a sack of money slung over their shoulders. "The Daltons," Gwenpool whispered. "You know them?" Applejack replied. "I think I read about them in an old comic," Gwenpool answered, "Plus, they were on one of the 'Wanted' posters outside." "All your valuables in the sacks, ladies and gents," the shortest of the four men, declared, "and nobody gets hurt." Applejack ducked behind the bar, pulling Gwenpool along with her. Everyone in the saloon began handing over their valuables as the Daltons went around collecting them into of their sacks. "You!" one of the men, barked at the bartender, "empty out the register." The bartender nervously obeyed, emptying out the money from cash register. "Thank you, for your cooperation," the short man smiled. The four men turned to leave, pointing their guns at everyone. But, before they had made it out of the saloon, all the men's guns were shot out of their hands. The person who had disarmed the men, blow the smoke from his gun. "Now thats not very gentlemen like is it?" the figure said. "No," the short man exclaimed, "it can't be!?" The figure stepped forward, revealing himself to be...... "LUCKY LUKE!" the short man fumed. "Long time no see, Joe Dalton," Lucky Luke smiled, holstering his gun, "now why don't you give those valuables back to their owners." The Daltons begrudgingly agreed, giving everyone in the saloon back their valuables and the bartender back his cash register money. "Now," Lucky Luke continued, "How's about you four march on over to the bank and give back the money you stole?" Grumbling furiously, The Daltons and Lucky Luke matched out of the saloon. Applejack and Gwenpool, who had been watching from the behind the bar, came out of hiding. "I can't believe it," Gwenpool squealed, "we just saw Lucky Luke!? Hero of West!?" Gwenpool could hardly stand still she was fan-girling so much. "Maybe he knows who we need to save," Applejack nodded. The two of them, hurried outside after Lucky Luke. After some time, Applejack and Gwenpool caught up with Lucky Luke turning The Daltons over to the sheriff. "Thank you, Lucky Luke," the sheriff said, shaking Luke by the hand, "I'm sure glad you came to Salvation." "My pleasure, Sheriff," Luke replied, tipping his hat, "I hope we meet again, in better company." "Did he insult us, Joe?" the tallest of The Daltons asked, as he and his brothers were led to prison cell. "Shut up, you numskull!" Joe Dalton retorted, glaring at his dimwitted brother as the cell door closed behind them. Smiling to himself, Lucky Luke turned and began walking towards his horse, Jolly Jumper. "Pardon me," Applejack said, as she and Gwenpool approached Lucky Luke, "we're new in town and we're looking for some people so we thought you might be able to help us." "I'd be happy to help," Luke replied, "now, who are you guys looking for?" "A person or a group of people who you might call heroes," Applejack explained. "You know," Gwenpool chipped in, "I heard that you can shoot faster than your shadow, is it true?" "Firstly," Luke answered, "I can shoot faster then my shadow and I heard a rumour about a gang of hiding out in an abandoned goldmine a few miles outside town." "Do you think you can show us the way to the mine?" Applejack asked. "Certainly," Luke smiled, mounting his horse, "I'd be happy too." With that, Lucky Luke galloped off, Applejack and Gwenpool followed behind, on two horses they commandeered from outside the saloon, the horses that had been confiscated from The Daltons. Outside the abandoned goldmine. "Well," Luke said, as they approached the entrance of the mine, "this is the place." "Thanks for leading us here," Applejack replied. "No, problem," Luke nodded. He looked to his horse, "come on, Jolly," he smiled, "let's ride." Without another word, Lucky Luke galloped off over the horizon. "That Lucky Luke was a real gentlemen," Applejack said, as she and Gwenpool watched the cowboy disappear into the distance. "You can say that again," Gwenpool agreed. With that, the two headed into the mine. Deeper and Deeper, Applejack and Gwenpool proceeded into the depths of the mine, Applejack using her ring to light their way. "Are you sure we're...." Gwenpool began. "Shhh," Applejack replied, "I hear voices ahead." Up ahead the crackling of a fire could be heard, accompanied by the sound of voices. "So Hurricane and his gang are going to attack a train shipment of gold bond for Utah," someone was saying, "we have to make sure that him and his goons don't get their hands on that gold." "You got it, boss," another voice answered. "I told you," the other voice replied, "don't call me that." "So anyway," a third voice continued," the plan is we....." "Quiet," a fourth voice interrupted, "I sense we are not alone down here." The sound of guns being pulled out of holsters could be heard. "Whoever you are," one of the voices called, "take one more step and you're swiss cheese." "Wait!" Applejack cried, "we don't want to fight you." "We're here to save you," Gwenpool added. "The only ones who need saving is you two from our bullets," another voice answered. "You have to listen to us," Applejack insisted, "you're all in danger, something evil is coming." "You gotta believe us," Gwenpool added, "you're all in serious danger." "Yeah right," one of the voices replied. Applejack readied herself to shield Gwenpool and herself from the bullets. But before even one shot was fired...... "I say we hear them out," another voice said. "Are you serious?" the voice from before exclaimed. "I sense no danger from them," the other voice replied, "I feel that they are telling us the truth." "Fine," the voice replied. The sound of guns being holstered could be heard. Both Applejack and Gwenpool stepped forward, finally getting a good look at who they had been talking to. Gathered around a fire were a group of individuals, these being: Jonah Hex, Bat Lash, El Diablo, Sheriff Ohiyesa "Pow-wow" Smith, a Captain America, Tony Stark and Spiderman lookalikes, Phantom Rider, Two Gun Kid, Kid Colt and Arizona Annie. There was also young girl standing behind Arizona Annie. "I have to admit," Lazarus Lane a.k.a. El Diablo remarked, "you have a lot of courage to come down here." "We don't usually get visitors down here," Bartholomew Aloysius Lash a.k.a. Bat Lash added. "You said before," Ohiyesa Smith spoke up, "that you had come here to save us, what exactly did you mean by that?" "You wouldn't believe us if we told you," Applejack replied. "You really think your the only time travellers we've met?" Jonah Hex said, "your pink friend sticks out like a sore thumb." "How did you know we were time travellers?" Gwenpool asked. "Let's just say, we've had experience" Matthew J. Hawkins (also called Matt Hawk) a.k.a. Two Gun Kid smiled, "we've all had interesting lives." Applejack and Gwenpool noticed the girl behind Arizona Annie. "Who are you, young'un?" Applejack asked. "Arizona," the girl replied, "Two Gun Kid's partner." "So you're Arizona and you're Arizona Annie," Applejack said. "That's not confusing at all," Gwenpool commented. "Tobias Manning and his gang attacked her town," Bat Lash explained, "looted anything they could get their hands on." "Back to the point," Arizona Annie interjected, "you said you were here to save us, from what?" Applejack and Gwenpool began explaining the reason they had come to the past and how Kang the Conquer was erasing all heroes throughout space and time. "So where is this 'Kang' thats after us?" Blaine Colt a.k.a. Kid Colt asked. "We don't know," Applejack replied. "Is there any proof you can give us?" Roger Stephenson a.k.a. Captain America asked. "No," Gwenpool answered, "But Kang has targets on all your heads." "Nothing new for us," Carter Slade a.k.a. Phantom Rider remarked. "Well, that's just great," Anthony Stark a.k.a. Iron man deadpanned, "we're all gonna die at hands of mysterious future man and our only hope is two time-traveling girls...." Arizona, with a disapproving look on her face, took a bottle off of Iron man. "Don't mind him," Peter Parker a.k.a. The Web-Slinger sighed, "he gets snarky when he's had too many drinks." Applejack was about to reply, when they heard footsteps heading into the mine. "Quiet," Jonah said, drawing his gun, "someones coming." "You see," Iron man slurred, "I knew they were lying, but no one listened to me." "Will you shut up!" Web-Slinger hissed. The footsteps drew nearer, everyone held their breath, as voices could be heard. "You sure they're here?" a voice asked. "If Kang says they're here, then they're here," a second voice replied. "Silence!" a third voice commanded. The voice was followed by the sound of snarling, possibly some sort of animal. "Say," the second voice said, "how about we let our pet have some fun." "That not a bad idea," the first voice answered. There was the sound a chain being released. "Go on," the first voice commanded, "hunt them up." Right after that, the sound of something bounding towards them could be heard. "Get ready, everyone," Kid Colt said. Suddenly, before anyone could react a strange object bounced into view. "Is that all...?" was all Bat Lash could say, before the object released an ear shattering sound. Everyone was immediately overcome by the noise. Before anyone had time to recover, everyone was insnared by razor-sharp spider webbing. "Well, well, well," one of the voices from before gloated as its owner walked into view, "looks like you're all in a bit of a sticky situation." Applejack and Gwenpool gasped, it looked like Deadpool but his body, it was as if a child had tried to put together a jigsaw using the pieces from different jigsaws. "Thats a good boy," Evil Deadpool said, patting a creature, that was responsible for webbing the heroes. The creature looked like Spider-man, it had his classic costume, but it two extra pair of arms, sharp teeth, three clawed fingers on each hand and composite eyes. "Now to do what we came here to do," the second voice said, "don't get distracted." The owner of the voice stepped into view, he was wearing a simple costume, a metal helmet and carrying an axe. "Have you restrain them, already?" the third voice asked, "you two have a mission to complete." The owner of the third voice stepped forward, revealing himself Kangaroo the Conqueror, Kang's alternate incarnation from Aniverse. "When you said Kang," Iron man blubbed, "did you mean a Kangaroo? That's so adorable." "This is serious!" Applejack replied, getting slightly annoyed. "We're not in the habit of negotiating with criminals," Captain America said, defiantly, "especially criminal kangaroos." "Mock me while you may, primitives," Kangaroo answered, smiling, "but I have traveled across time and dimensions, in order to rule the world, and I shall!" All the heroes turned and looked at Applejack and Gwenpool, they finally believed them, Iron man nodded gravely. "Don't bother struggling," Evil Deadpool laughed, "that webbing you're stuck in is razor tipped," he smiled, "but please feel free to struggle all you want." "Alright," the man with the axe said, "lets get this over with." "Fine," Evil Deadpool sighed, "you can be such a killjoy, Persuader." Persuader gave a frustrated growl, mumbled something under his breath, and brandished his axe as he prepared to do what he, Evil Deadpool, the monster Spiderman and Kangaroo had come to the wild west to do. "Hey Applejack," Gwenpool whispered, "you think you can use your ring to reach one of my swords to cut us out of this?" "I can try," Applejack replied. Trying not to draw attention to herself, Applejack used her ring to reach behind Gwenpool and draw one of her katanas and cut through the webbing she and Gwenpool were trapped in. "Hey you!" Persuader cried, as the girls cut themselves free of the webbing. He swung his axe at the two. Applejack and Gwenpool dodged the Persuader's attack and counter attacked, Applejack using her ring to knock the axe out of Persuader's hands, while Gwenpool provided her with cover fire. "Are you going to just stand there?!" Persuader asked, glaring at Evil Deadpool, "or are you going to help me?" "Fine," Evil Deadpool replied, drawing his katana and with his other hand (which was facing backwards) pulled out a handgun. but before he could fire, Gwenpool hurled a stun grenade his way. "They always said I had a shocking personality," Gwenpool smirked, as the stun went off, shocking Evil Deadpool. Persuader tried to attack Gwenpool from behind, only to be knocked out by a punching glove construct from Applejack. With that, the two girls turned to face the monster Spiderman. The beast let out an inhuman roar and flung itself at the two. Applejack, thinking fast, throw a shield around herself and Gwenpool. The monster Spiderman pounded on Applejack's shield with all six of arms. "I don't know how long I can keep this up," Applejack said, through gritted teeth as her shield construct began to slowly crack under monster Spiderman's attacks. "Don't worry," Gwenpool replied, "I've got an idea." Applejack nodded, just as monster Spiderman broke through her shield. Acting fast, Applejack summoned up a chain construct, which rapped around monster Spiderman's legs. While the creature was distracted with the chain, Gwenpool quick shoved a taser grenade (the same one she'd used on Evil Deadpool) into the monster Spiderman's mouth. "Chew on this," Gwenpool declared, as the monster Spiderman stumbled backwards from her attack. Seconds later, the stun grenade detonated, shocking the monster Spiderman unconscious. "Simpletons!" Kangaroo groaned, "must I do everything mysel...." Before he could finish, Kangaroo was whacked on the head by a mallet construct from Applejack. "That takes care of those guys," Gwenpool said. "For now," Applejack finished. "Hey," the voice of Bat Lash interrupted, "I don't mean to rude, but would one of you mind helping us out of this?" Applejack nodded, using her ring, she blasted away the webbing holding Jonah Hex and the other western heroes. "Sorry I didn't believe about that 'saving you thing'" Iron man apologised. "No apology needed," Applejack smiled, "I don't know if I would have believe it if I were you." Two Gun Kid was about to say something, but was cut short by groaning and mumbling noises as Persuader, Evil Deadpool and monster Spiderman recovered from their battle with Applejack and Gwenpool. "Mommy I don't want to go to school today," Evil Deadpool blubbed, as the effects of the stun grenade worn off. "Gonna. Cut. You. All. To shreds!" Persuader growled, axe in hand. The monster Spiderman gave an aggravated growl. All the western heroes draw their gun and other weapons, Arizona had a rope with her. "Four of you against thirteen of us," Phantom Rider remarked, "I think I like those odds." "Feel free to give up," Arizona smiled, "you can't win." "Really?" Evil Deadpool asked, he turned towards the entrance of the mine, "Oh Cinderblock," he called. For a moment there was silence, then the sound of thundering footsteps approaching could be heard. "Still think all of you can beat us now?" Persuader smiled, as a gigantic figure walked up behind him and his two comrades. "Ok," Kid Colt said, "we might have a problem." "Cinderblock," Kangaroo commanded, as he recover from being out cold, "show these fools what it is you do." The gigantic figure, Cinderblock, growled in response. "You think the rest of you can hold these guys for awhile?" Iron man asked, "I just need to get my armour ready." "We'll buy you as much time as you need," Captain America nodded. "Right," Applejack, Gwenpool and the western heroes agreed. With that, the heroes and villains engaged in battle. "Didn't ya momma tell you not to bring an axe to a gunfight?" Arizona Annie asked, as she and Kid Colt fought Persuader. "When I'm finished with you!" Persuader replied, angrily, "I'm gonna...." Persuader was cut shore when one of Kid Colt's bullets bounced off his helmet. "I know I'm a cheap knock-off," Evil Deadpool remarked, as he crossed katanas with Gwenpool, "but you're an even cheaper knock-off than me, and that's saying something." "I'm pretty sure, readers like me better as a character than you," Gwenpool answered, "or did that stun grenade rewire your brain?" The last of the western heroes faced down monster Spiderman, Cinderblock and Kangaroo the Conquer. "You really think you can handle my two pets?" Kangaroo asked. "They won't have too," a voice answered. Everyone turned to see Iron man, finally armoured up and ready to fight. "Tear them all apart!" Kangaroo barked. Cinderblock and the monster Spiderman obeyed. Monster Spiderman hurtled towards Iron man, who simply slapped the creature away with a powerful punch. Before he could recover, monster Spiderman was pinned to the wall by two well-aimed shots from Web-slinger's web pistols. Cinderblock charged through the heroes and grabbed Arizona in one of his powerful hands. "Sorry to disappoint you, fella," Arizona said, calmly "but I'm stronger than I look." Without another word, Arizona burst out of Cinderblock's grip with tremendous strength, similar to the strength Applejack's geode gave her. Cinderblock stumbled backwards, then charged in Arizona's direction. Arizona dodged out of the way, causing Cinderblock to hit one of the mine support beams. The whole mine shook violently. "I think we should get out of here!" Applejack cried. "And fast!" Gwenpool added, as the ceiling of the mine slow began to collapse. "This isn't over!" Kangaroo declared, "enjoy your victory while it lasts." With that, Kangaroo, monster Spiderman, Evil Deadpool, Persuader and Cinderblock disappeared. "Everyone!" Iron man called, he was trying to keep the ceiling from collapsing further, "get out here, I'll be right behind you." Phantom Rider nodded, "you heard Stark," he said, "time to hightail it!" Everyone nodded and headed for the mine entrance. Outside the abandoned goldmine. "Is that everyone?" Jonah Hex asked. "Yeah," Two Gun Kid replied, "everyone, but Iron man." "I'm going back in to get him," Captain America said. Suddenly, there was a loud noise from the wreckage of the mine. Shortly after, Iron man burst out of the rumble from the destroyed mine. "No need to worry about me," Iron man greeted, taking his helmet off. "Well I guess we should be going," Applejack said. "Yeah," Gwenpool nodded, "we completed our mission, you guys are safe so we should be on way." Waving goodbye Applejack and Gwenpool activated their recall devices and disappeared back to the Waverider. "Those two were kinda strange," Kid Colt remarked, "but not so bad." "You think we'll see them again?" Arizona asked. "Who knows Arizona," Ohiyesa Smith answered, "who knows." > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The future, New York in the year 2069. Sunset and Twilight walked through futuristic city, Twilight was still starstruck by all the sights and sounds of the city. "Just look at all those company names," Twilight said, pointing at various billboards showing different companies. These companies being: Alchemax, Wayne Powers, Volskaya Industries and Vishkar Corporation. Along with the massive billboards the sky was filled with flying cars. Sunset was about to say something, but interrupted as bumped into someone. "Sorry," Sunset apologised, "I wasn't looking where I was going." "Not a problem," the person replied, "these little things always happen." Sunset looked to see who she was talking to and was almost lost for words. Before her, was a robot, a humanoid robot. "Are you ok?" the robot asked. "I.....ar," was all Sunset could reply. "THIS. IS. AMAZING!" Twilight squalled, "an actual living robot!" "Is your friend OK?" the robot asked. "She's fine," Sunset smiled, "you're the first humanoid robot she's seen." The robot was about to reply, but was cut short as some police hovercars tore past them. "Whats happening?" Sunset asked, "where are the police going?" "Something about a Juggernaut impersonator, tearing up main street," the robot answered, "The Justice Force Beyond will be on their way, I'm sure of it." "Thanks for the help," Sunset smiled, she turned to Twilight, "time to go!" she said. "Do we have to?" Twilight asked, Sunset nodded, and she along with Twilight headed for the location of main street. Main Street. "Sticks and stones will break my bones," Cain Marko a.k.a. Juggernaut smiled, as he rampaged through the city, "but tanks will never hurt me." Juggernaut was not alone, he was accompanied by someone dressed in a strange suit with a domed helmet that obscured his face, along with him were three other figures, one was dressed like a medieval knight with a hood over his head, the second figure looked the Blue Beetle only coloured red and the last figure was Immortus. Nearby a news crew was covering the attack, "we're live on the scene," the reporter said, "with what appears to be the Juggernaut attacking downtown, he doesn't seem to be alone, there are three other figures, one of them appears to be the leader, we have received word that the Justice Force Beyond are on their way to deal with the situation." As the reporter finished, the Justice Force Beyond flew overhead and touched down in front of villains. A large crowd, which had formed nearby, erupted into cheers and applauses. "Those are the ones we're here to save," Sunset said, as she and Twilight made their way to the front of the crowd. The Justice Force Beyond Members that had arrived, were: Iron man 2099, WarHawk, Spiderman 2099, Batman Beyond, Big Barda and Hercules. "Relax everyone," Miguel O'Hara a.k.a. Spider man 2099 declared, "the Justice Force Beyond is here." "I do you have to call us that?" Rex Stewart, the son of Green Lantern John Stewart and Hawk Girl Kendra Saunders, a.k.a. Warhawk groaned. "Focus, guys" Terry McGinnis a.k.a. Batman Beyond stated, "We can worry about team names, later." "Agreed," Hercules smiled, "why waste time using our minds when we should be using our fists." "Hercules is right," nodded Big Barda, "we need take these guys down before anyone gets hurt." "Right," Sonny Frisco a.k.a. Iron man 2099 replied, "let's do this." Juggernaut laughed, "You all think you can beat me?" he asked, "Do you know who I am?" The hooded knight stepped forward, "I am the black void," he said, "I am the cold steel," the figure unsheathed his sword, "I am he who cleanses this fallen world with Ebony blade in hand," the figure readied himself, "I am Bloodwraith," the figure finished. "Do you have to give that speech ever single time?" the figure in the yellow suit groaned. "I trust you all can accomplish our mission?" Immortus smiled. "Oh, yeah," Juggernaut smiled. "The end has come!" Bloodwraith cried. "This is going to be fun," the figure in the yellow suit smiled, yellow energy surrounding his hands. "I'm gonna enjoy this," the red coloured Blue Beetle lookalike nodded, two powerful looking energy blasters appearing on his hands. With that, the heroes of the future engaged the villains. Iron man 2099 and Spider man 2099 clashed with the red coloured Blue Beetle. Big Barda crossed her weapon, a Mega-rod, with Bloodwraith's Ebony blade. Hercules and the Juggernaut traded blows with each others. And lastly, Batman Beyond alongside Warhawk tried to attack the figure in the yellow suit, who went by the name Mano. Batman Beyond hurled batarang after batarang at Mano, who simply grabbed the projectiles and reduced them to dust. Warhawk charged at Mano, slashing at the villains with his talons. Mano tried to disintegrate Warhawk's armour, but as the armour was made of Nth metal Mano's powers had no effect on the armour. "Finally," Hercules declared, "someone who can last more than minute against me." "I would have expected more a challenge from the god of strength," Juggernaut smirked. "Big Barda, the former fury," Bloodwraith said, as he and Big Barda crossed weapons with each other, "you are a worthy opponent, indeed." "You know nothing about me," Big Barda cried, as she blocked Bloodwraith's Ebony blade with her Mega-rod. Finally, Iron man 2099 and Spiderman 2099 dodged blasts from the red coloured Blue Beetle, going by the name Scarlet Scarab. "Your amour is no match for the power of the scarab," Scarlet Scarab laughed, blasting Iron man 2099 with energy blasters and versus other projectile weapons. Seeing Iron man 2099 was beginning to tire, Scarlet Scarab readied another energy bombardment. But before, Scarlet Scarab could attack he was ensnared by webbing from Spiderman 2099. "You really need to watch your blindspots," Spiderman 2099 commented. "Your funny," Scarlet Scarab smiled. A buzz saw appeared on the Scarlet Scarab's hand, which he used cut himself free from the webbing. "I think we're in trouble," Spiderman 2099 said, with a slightly worried tone in his voice. "I might have agree with you, there," Batman Beyond replied. Warhawk nodded, "anytime you wanna join the party," he said, speaking in his communicator. A shortly after, a voice answered, "sorry I'm late guys." The voice belonged to none than Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman who had just arrived on the scene. "Lo the Man of Steel," Bloodwraith said. "Finally," Mano remarked. "I was wondering when you'd show up," Juggernaut smirked. "I second that," Scarlet Scarab grinned. Superman stared the villains down. "I don't know how or why you're here," he said, "but if you want to hurt innocent people, then you have to go through me." The Juggernaut advanced on Superman. "You must have a death wish," he declared, creaking his knuckles, "You of all people should know, nothing. Stops. THE JUGGERNAUT!" With that, the Juggernaut charged at Superman. Superman himself charged at the Juggernaut as he rocketed towards him. Half a second later, the two collided. The every earth beneath them shook as the two traded punches. The other members of the Justice Force Beyond tried to help, but unfortunately, they were occupied fighting the other villains. All this was happening, while Immortus looked on, "Any minute now," he murmured to himself. Back with Superman, his fight with Juggernaut seemed to going in his favour. "Your good," Juggernaut smirked, "but times running out on ya." "What the heck are you talking about?" Superman replied. He throw another punch at Juggernaut, only for the punch to do nothing. "What the?" Superman asked. He throw another punch at Juggernaut, which yielded the same result. With a powerful punch, Juggernaut sent Superman flying into a nearby building. As the hero dug himself out of the rumble of the destroyed building he noticed that he had began to turn incorporeal. "whats happening me?" Superman queried, as he quickly returned to being corporeal. "Time is catching up with you, kryptonian," Immortus smiled, as he and the Juggernaut stood over the weakened hero. From the sidelines, Sunset turned to Twilight. "I think it's time we join the fight," Sunset said. "Right," Twilight nodded. Without another word, the two girls leaped into the fray. Using her ring, Sunset released a burst of bright white light, which blinded Immortus and the juggernaut. Before Mano, Scarlet Scarab or Bloodwraith could rush to their comrades aid, Twilight hit all three of the villains with a powerful blast from her ring. "Go!" Sunset cried, "get Superman outta here!." "Got it," Batman Beyond nodded, "follow us." With that, Spiderman 2099 swept Superman, with his webbing, and the rest of the heroes along with the girls hightailed it. "I don't like retreating," Warhawk said, reluctantly. "Another second there and we'd history," Iron man 2099 replied, as they continued their escape. The city backstreets. "Right," Sunset said, "I think thats far enough." "OK," Warhawk demanded, "I have a lot of questions and you two better start answering them." "Warhawk is right," Big Barada agreed, "who are you and why do you look like Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer?" "It must be androids or clone imposters," Spiderman 2099 suggested. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," Twilight said, trying to defuse the tension, "we can explain." "Please," Batman Beyond stated, "we're all ears." Sunset and Twilight began to explain the reason they had come to 2069, all the while reassuring the heroes that they were indeed the real deal. "I'm still having a hard believing your story," Batman Beyond said, "but coming from legends like you I'll let it slide." Before anyone could continue, Twilight spoke up, "Do you think we could discuss this somewhere else?" "Good idea," Iron man 2099 nodded. The Justice Force Beyond's base of operations, The Watchtower. Sunset and Twilight were re-explaining their mission to the rest of the Justice Force Beyond, these being: Roberta Mendez a.k.a. Captain America 2099, Micron, Max a.k.a. Hawkeye 2099, Kai-Ro a.k.a. Green Lantern, Tania a.k.a. Black Widow 2099, Mareena a.k.a. Aquagirl, Danica Williams a.k.a. The Flash and Vergil Hawkins a.k.a. Static. "And that's why we came," Sunset finished. "Interesting," Captain America 2099 said. "You said before," Sunset interjected, "that we were legends." "Yeah," Static nodded, "you and your kids are......" "Save it, Static," Micron interrupted. "What?" Static retorted. "They aren't suppose to know about their own futures," Micron replied. "Agreed," Green lantern nodded, "I think we need to focus on the more pressing issue." "Right," Black Widow 2099 acknowledged, she turned to Flash. "Have you worked out what's happening to Superman," she asked. "Some what," Flash answered, "and even I don't believe it." "What do you mean?" Hawkeye 2099 inquired. "It's like he's here, but at the same time, not here," Flash replied, "I can't understand it." "How does that begin to make sense?" exclaimed Aquagirl "That's because Superman has become a paradox," a voice answered. Everyone turned to see a figure, wearing iron man-like armour, standing in the room. "Who are you?" Warhawk asked, "how'd you get in here?" "That doesn't matter," the figure replied, "right now, you all need to listen to me." "Forgive us, if we don't believe you," Green Lantern said, "but we don't trust people," he snapped his fingers, "just like that." "If you want to save Superman you will all listen to me," the figure answered, urgency building in his voice. "I think we should hear him out," Sunset interrupted. "Are you crazy?" Warhawk asked, "We don't know who this guy is." "Just because he's wearing armour doesn't mean he's on our side," added Spiderman 2099. "We can worry about my identity later," the figure responded, "if you let me help I can slow down the effects of time flow on Superman." "What do you mean?" Captain America 2099 asked. "Across time and space all incarnations of Superman are being erased from the fabric of history," the figure replied, grimly, "so if you want to save this Superman you all will listen to me," he repeated. There was a long pause, then finally one of the heroes spoke up. "If we listen to you," Iron man 2099 said, "can you slow down whats happening to Superman?" "You have my word," the figure responded. Without another word, the figure headed for the medical bay, with Twilight and Spiderman 2099 following behind. "In the meantime," Captain America 2099 stated, "the rest of us will try and contain the villains so they don't cause more harm." "Roger," the other members of the Justice Force Beyond along with Sunset answered. With that, Sunset Shimmer and the rest of the Justice Force Beyond exited the HQ. Meanwhile, on the way to the medical bay. "I've been meaning to ask," Twilight said, as she and Spiderman 2099 walked through the many corridors of the HQ, "why do some of you have 2099 in your names? the years 2069 not 2099." "The year is 2069," Spiderman 2099 replied, "but 2069 doesn't have the same ring to it as 2099 does." "Oh," Twilight nodded. Shortly, the two arrived at the medical bay. Superman lay on a futuristic hospital bed, next to him the figure had already began building small strange device. "So what exactly is this thing that can slow Superman's removal from time?" Spiderman 2099 inquired. "I'm constructing a chronal blocker," the figure replied, "that will counter the effect of the paradox." After a few more minutes of tinkering the figure produced a wristband-looking device, which he placed on Superman's wrist. The second the device was attached to him, Superman returned to corporeal form. "Is he going to be OK?" Twilight asked. "He'll wake up with a little headache," the figure smiled. The figure was saved from saying anything else, as Superman groaned and began to regain consciousness. "Take is easy," the figure said, helping Superman to feet, "the effects of time flow my have affected the amount of solar energy in your body." "Thanks," Superman answered, "but who are you?" "That's not important," the figure replied, "right now we....." Before the figure could continue a voice interrupted, "I don't to mean to ruin the moment," the voice said, "but the teams in trouble." "Where are they, LYla?" Spiderman 2099 asked, revealing the source of the voice, a holographic Marilyn Monroe looking woman, projected from a device on his wrist. "Oh. My. Gosh." Twilight squalled, "first living robots and holographic A.I." "The abandon warehouse district," LYla (LYrate Lifeform Approximation) replied. "First things first," the figure said, turning to Superman. From his armour he produced, what looked like, a small touch coloured blue, "we need to get you back to full power quickly," he continued, shining the touches blue beam on Superman. "What did you do?" Twilight asked. "Blue sun ration projector," the figure replied, putting the touch away. "Right," Superman nodded, "let's go." Without another word, Superman and Spiderman 2099 left the medical bay. "You should go with them," the figure said, seeing that Twilight was still in the room. "What about you?" Twilight asked, "can't you help?" "I've done what I can," the figure said, "it's time for me to go." "Just tell me something," Twilight retorted, "who are you? Really" "I'm just a concerned friend," the figure responded. Before Twilight could pursue the figure's identity any further, he activated something in his armour and vanished. Twilight left the room, the figure's identity still on her mind. Abandon warehouse district. "Stand your ground, everyone," Big Barda said, as she, Sunset Shimmer and the rest of the Justice Force Beyond tried their best to try and contain the villains. "A valiant effect," Immortus smirked, "but to no avail." He nodded to Juggernaut, "Mr. Marko if you would." "It'll be my pleasure," Juggernaut smiled, cracking his knuckles as he advanced on the heroes. "Come on," Sunset urged, "we have to get back up." "I would say it was nice knowing," Scarlet Scarab remarked, readying some giant blasters "but I'd be lying." "If I'm going down," Warhawk growled, as he and Sunset got to their feet, "I'm going down fighting." "I am the black void," Bloodwraith said, as he and Mano prepared themselves "I am just sword, with Ebony blade in hand shall I reap the sins of this world and cleanse it in the fires of destruction, I am Bloodwraith." Sunset and Warhawk stood their ground, waiting for the attacks to come. "The end has come!" Bloodwraith cried, charging forward, sword in hand. But, before Bloodwraith's sword could touch them, Superman flew in, blocking the attack. "What?" Bloodwraith exclaimed. "Impossible," Immortus growled. "Yep," Superman smiled, "I'm back." Right after Superman had said that, Spiderman 2099 and Twilight landed alongside him. "And now," Superman continued, "it's time to dish out some justice." "Good to have you back," Sunset said, happy to see Superman back on his feet. "Agreed," Warhawk nodded. "Superman or no," Mano declared, "the four you aren't enough to beat us." "Oh, really?" Twilight asked, as the other members of the Justice Force Beyond joined the four of them. "You might want to check again," Sunset finished. The villains growled with anger, they know they were outmatched. "I think it is time we made our exit," Immortus said, reluctantly. "Urr," Juggernaut groaned, "this was just getting fun." "I will not run from a battle," Bloodwraith stated. "I second that," Scarlet Scarab nodded. "Me too," Mano nodded. "It's retreat or face defeat," Immortus replied. "Fine," Juggernaut agreed. "Until next time heroes," Immortus smiled. And with that, the villains disappeared. "Looks like we sent them running," Batman Beyond declared. "We sure showed them," Hercules cheered. "And now that you guys are safe," Sunset said, "it's time me and Twilight were going too." "Do we have too?" Twilight asked, "I haven't even seen what other wonders this era holds." "Sorry, Twilight" Sunset replied, "but we have to get back to the Waverider, the others are probably waiting for us." "Alright," Twilight conceded. With Twilight and Sunset activated their recall devices and disappeared back to the Waverider. "Well," Iron man 2099 said, after a while, "this is not the strangest thing that's happen to us." "This day has certainly been strange," Green Lantern agreed. "I'm surprised we don't have a list of strange things that have happened to us," Hawkeye 2099 added. > Chapter 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- London, 1889. "This is amazing," Rarity said, as she and Fluttershy strolled around the industrial London, "I've read about this era in history books, but to actually be here." "I have to admit," Fluttershy smiled, "it is unbelievable, but we have to remember we're not here to sightsee." "You're right," Rarity replied, "but where are suppose to look for the heroes of this time period?" She was spared from pondering the question any further, by a passing paper boy. "Paper, ma'am?" the boy asked, as Rarity and Fluttershy approached him. "Please," Rarity nodded. The boy handed over a paper, Rarity paying for it with a chocolate bar. "Now, lets see," Rarity said, looking over the paper. The headline read, "Is Jack Back from the Dead? Families Killed by Jack the Ripper's Ghosts." "I think we've found a lead," Rarity concluded. "I guess we have," Fluttershy replied, nervously. As the girls walked through the street a couple passed them. "They say that, Jack made a pact with the devil," a woman said, "evil stalks the banks of the Thames." "Just stay away from the river," the woman's husband nodded, "those who venture there don't return." "I guess we're heading for the river," Fluttershy said. "I suppose we are," Rarity sighed. The River Thames Rarity and Fluttershy walked along one the banks of the river. "Of all places!" Rarity complained, "WHY DID THE VILLAINS CHOOSE THIS PLACE!?" "Oh come on," Fluttershy smiled, "its not so bad." "But we've been walking ages," Rarity whined, "heels were not designed for walking on river banks in 1998!" Before Rarity could complain any further the two came across an old derelict building. "I think we've found the place," Fluttershy said, trying to hide her fear. "Well it's about time," Rarity huffed, "are you even sure that this is place?" Suddenly, as the girls approached the building, a nightmarish creature appeared in front of them. "LEAVE NOW!" the creature shrieked. With that, the creature lunged at the two, but before it could attack the girls fired a blast from both their rings, destroying the creatures. "You know," Rarity said, "I think your right, Fluttershy, this is the right place." Without another word, the two headed into the building. inside the building. "This place certainly is ghastly," Rarity remarked, as she and Fluttershy walked through the decaying building. They entered a dark room, "Its so dark," Fluttershy commented, trying to make something out in the darkness. Using their rings, Rarity and Fluttershy illuminated the room, a horrifying sight met their eyes. A giant spider web was set above their heads, cocoons hung suspended from the web. Rarity and Fluttershy had to bite their lips so they wouldn't scream, inside the cocoons were skeletons. As the girls stared up at the web, something crawled down from the web and dangled in front of the two. Both Rarity and Fluttershy were rooted to the ground in fear at the sight before them. The creature in front was a terrifying fusion of man and spider, wearing a tattered Spiderman costume. "Well, well," the spider creature said, "what have we here? Two little flies wandered into my web." "Looks like we have some uninvited guests," another voice answered. The voice belonged to figure who looked like Batman, only he wore strange armour and had a bat and Green Lantern symbol on his chest. The Green Lantern Batman, called Dawnbreaker, was followed by someone who looked like Firestorm, only he wore black and crimson costume and a skull for a head. "Maybe they could help me with my experiments," the evil Firestorm smiled. "So," a different voice declared, "the Time Master's lackeys have arrived." The figure the voice belonged to stepped out from the shadows, it was the Scarlet Centurion. "still you may provide the perfect bate," Scarlet Centurion continued. He nodded to the spider creature. The spider creature obeyed and advanced on the girls. Rarity and Fluttershy tried to use their rings, but the Dawnbreaker conjured up a lovecraftian construct which seemed to eat the light from the girl's rings. Within minutes, the girls were wrapped up in spider webbing and stuck to the web. "I won't bother struggling," the spider creature, called Spider-X, smirked, "my webs produce a powerful acid." "And your rings are useless against me," Dawnbreaker said, "so don't even try pulling anything stupid." "How did you even know we'd come here?" Rarity asked. "You think Kang wouldn't notice you little escapades?" Scarlet Centurion answered, "trying to save the heroes of the past and the future." "But this time," the evil Firestorm, called Deathstorm, "we've got the jump on you." "The heroes of this era will come to us," Dawnbreaker smiled, "to their graves." Before the villains could continued, a blurry figure appeared out of nowhere. The figure was followed by a man dressed as a bat, a woman wearing a costume resembling Wonder Woman's, a man wearing a Devil mask and carrying a billy club, another woman wearing a costume with a spider on the torso and four mechanical legs on the back, she was followed by a man wearing steam powered armour, along with him was a girl wearing fur and a trench coat and finally, a small yet serious looking man wearing a costume that looked like the Atom's. "Ah," Scarlet Centurion smiled, "right on cue." "Get out of here!" Fluttershy cried, trying to get the heroes attention, "run!" But the heroes paid her no heed, and stepped forward. All four villains charged at the heroes. Within moments, the heroes were caught up and added to the web. "You have done well, Deathstorm, Dawnbreaker and Spider X," Scarlet Centurion smiled, "all went according to plan." "What was that?" Accelerated Man, the Flash analogue, said, "they ripped through us like we were nothing." "The four of you seem interested in us," Batman surmised, "mind filling us in?" "I would," Scarlet Centurion responded, "but soon none of you will be around to understand it." "Whats that suppose to mean?" the girl wearing the fur and trench coat, called Velvet, asked. Scarlet Centurion nodded to Deathstorm, Dawnbreaker and Spider-X, "finish them," he smirked. The three villains advanced on the captured heroes and the girls. But, before the villains could attack, a figure, wearing a futurist battle suit, appeared, seemingly out of now where and cut the heroes and the girls free from the web. "Who dares?!" Scarlet Centurion demanded. A look of disbelief crossed his face as he caught sight of the newcomer's face. "You!" he growled. The figure, with quick movements, fired off a concussive blast from the gauntlets on her armour, at the villains. "Who are you?" Rarity asked. "That doesn't matter," the figure answered, "right now, you all have to leave, now." "What about you?" Fluttershy asked. "I will hold them off," the figure replied, "so you and the others can escape." "That's foolish," Wonder Woman insisted, "five against one, you will never survive." "It doesn't matter what happens to me," the figure urged, "you all need to get out!" Two blades sprang from the figure's wrists, "Go!" the figure yelled, as the villains closed in on her. Without hesitation, the girls grabbed all the heroes, with their rings, and hightailed it out of the building. The figure turned to face the villains. A few blocks away. The girls set the heroes down in an alleyway. "We have to go back!" May Reilly a.k.a. Lady Spider said. "You can't," Fluttershy contended, "You and your friend better start talking," Batman stated, "now." Rarity and Fluttershy began to explain the reason they had come to 1889. "So those five back, there," Accelerated Man said, slowly, "they came from future to kill us." "Well," Rarity added, "two of them, not sure about the other two." "What about the stranger that told us to run?" Shrinking man, the Atom analogue, asked. "That's a mystery to us too," Fluttershy replied, "me and Rarity have never seen her before." "Arr," Velvet groaned, "all this time travel stuff is hurting my brain." "We can worry about that later," Wonder Woman said, "right now, our mysterious ally won't be able to fight five opponents alone." "First," DareDevil interjected, "we need to work out a plan before we go in guns blazing." "Who needs a plan," Edward Stark a.k.a. Iron man smiled, "as long as we fight as one nothing can stop us." With that Iron man blasted off into the sky. "Sometimes I question how we became a team in the first time," Batman huffed. With that, all the heroes and the girls headed off to help their mysterious friend. Inside the building. The five villains stood over the figure, she was stuck to the wall, with Spider X's webbing. "I never dreamed that you of all people would turn against me!" Scarlet Centurion said, "why?" "You think I was going to standby while you destroy all that is good?" the figure replied. "Be glad that I'm not the Kang you know," Scarlet Centurion smirked, "after all, what Kang doesn't know won't hurt him." Both Dawnbreaker and Deathstorm moved in, Dawnbreaker's ring glowing and Deathstorm's fists glowing with nuclear energy. But, before the villains could enact their deed, a blast of ice hit Deathstorm creating a shroud steam. "Who dares?!" Scarlet Centurion demanded. From out of the steam Accelerated Man tackled the villains then vanished back into the mist. "Show yourselves, cowards!" Spider X growled. While the villains were distracted, Fluttershy, Iron man and Shrinking man cut the figure free of the webbing. "I thought told you...." the figure began. "Shhhh," Fluttershy hissed. But, it was too late, the villains had already noticed what they were doing. "You interlopers!" Scarlet Centurion cried. He turned to Spider X, "get them!" he barked. Spider X charged at the girls. "Throw me!" Shrinking man shouted. Using her ring, Fluttershy hurled Shrinking man at the rapidly advancing Spider X. With one powerful punch, Spider X was thrown across the room. Meanwhile, Rarity and the other heroes battled Dawnbreaker, Deathstorm and Scarlet Centurion. "When I get my hands on you!" Deathstorm roared, "I'm going to disassemble you molecules!" "You fight well," Dawnbreaker smirked, "but, lets see how you fight in the darkness." Darkness seemed to seep out of the Dawnbreaker's ring as the room was plunged into blackness. With darkness black, I choke the light, No brightest day escapes my sight! I turn the dawn to midnight, Beware my power, Dawnbreaker's might! The Dawnbreaker's oath echoed everywhere as everything was swallowed up by darkness. "Welcome to my special hell," the voice of the Dawnbreaker cackled. "What do we do now?" Lady Spider asked. She and Daredevil were separated from the others by the inky dark abyss surrounding them. Suddenly, the Dawnbreaker emerged from the darkness, summoning up a monstrous construct. "Whats the matter?" Dawnbreaker smiled, "afraid of the dark?" Lady Spider tried to attack, but the Dawnbreaker dodged her attack and faded into the darkness. "How are you suppose to fight someone you can't touch?" Lady Spider asked. "Simple," Daredevil replied, sitting crosslegged on the floor. Dawnbreaker appeared from the darkness again and prepared to attack Daredevil. But, just as the Dawnbreaker reach out, with his monstrous construct, Daredevil dodged and counter attacked. "Wait for it, to touch you," Daredevil finished. Meanwhile, with the other heroes and the girls. "There's nowhere to run," Deathstorm grinned, "nowhere to hide." "You are doomed," Scarlet Centurion smiled. "That's where you're wrong," Rarity replied. She conjured one of her diamond shield constructs, which was followed by Fluttershy shooting her ring at the shield, releasing a giant flash with the hit. Light filled the room, clearing the darkness and binding the villains for a second. Before, the villains could react the heroes and the girls attacked swiftly, quickly incapacitating the villains. "Your move," Velvet smiled. "This is not over," Scarlet Centurion growled, "soon all will perish under the might of Kang." With that, the villains vanished. "Time I was leaving too," the figure said. "Before you go," Rarity retorted, "just tell us, who are you?" "All you need to know," the figure answered, "is that you are not alone in your fight against Kang." Without another word, the figure pressed a button on her armour and vanished. "Well," Fluttershy remarked, "It's nice to know that we're not alone in fight to stop Kang." "Agreed," Rarity nodded. "Well," Lady Spider said, "what happens now?" "Its time for us to leave," Fluttershy replied, "Our friends are waiting for us, we shouldn't keep them waiting." "I suppose, you're right," Rarity sighed. With that, Rarity and Fluttershy activated their recall devices and disappeared back to the Waverider. "You know," Accelerated Man remaked, "sometimes I swear we're a magnet for weird things." "Sometime, I agree with you," Iron man answered. > Chapter 8 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 31st century. "This. Place. Is. Awesome," Rainbow Dash declared, gazing in amazement at the advanced city around them. "It's uncredible," agreed Pinkie Pie. Rainbow Dash gave her a confused look. "Unbelievable and incredible" Pinkie Pie replied, "come on." Before, Rainbow Dash could continue a group of figures materialised in front of the two. The first figure resembled Spiderman, only his costume was coloured red, save for the black spider on his chest. The second figure was wearing a costume that was coloured both light and dark blues and visor covered his eyes. The third figure resembled Thor, the only different was that his costume was green and the Hydra symbol. The fourth figure was almost a mirror image of Red Tornado, only he was coloured silver and black. The leader of the group stepped forward, he was wearing ancient Egyptian style clothing, the only thing that stood out was his gun holster. "Going somewhere?" The Spider, the red Spiderman, smiled. "Did you really think that Kang would turn a blind eye to your little crusade?" Rama-Tut, the leader of the villains, asked. "You'll have to get through us," Elasti-man, the villain in the blue costume, added, "before you can get to the heroes of this century." "You two won't leave this century alive," Hammer, the Hydra Thor, announced. "Proclamation: resistance is futile," Silver Cyclone, the Red Tornado recolour, declared. "Bring it," Rainbow Dash said, she and Pinkie stood their ground. "DESTROY THEM!" Rama-Tut commanded. With that, the four villains charged at the girls. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie likewise charged at their attackers. The girls fought as hard as they could, Rainbow Dash using her speed and her ring, while Pinkie used her powers as best she could. But, the villains were more than a match for the girls. "Observation:" Silver Cyclone stated, as he stood over Rainbow Dash, "you are good, I am better, superior." "Both of you are no match for the might of Hydra," Hammer smirked, as he dropped a defeated Pinkie Pie next to Rainbow Dash. "Once were done with you," The Spider smiled, "we're going to find the heroes of this timezone and paint this whole place red." "Yeah," Elasti-man nodded, "what he said." "Enough, Rama-Tut interrupted, "finish them." The villains obeyed, they prepared to carry out the order. "I'm not done with you, yet," Rainbow Dash said, getting to her feet, "I'll fight you till my last breath." "I'm with you, Dashie," Pinkie nodded, "I won't quit if you won't." "Noble sentiment," Rama-Tut smiled, "noble, but entirely pointless." Rama-Tut nodded to the villains, they still had an order to complete. The villains continued, preparing to attack Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie defiantly stood stedfast, waiting for the attack to hit. Suddenly, a blast of lightning shot out of nowhere, hitting The Spider and knocking him down. "Surprise," a voice called. All the villains turned to see Garth Ranzz a.k.a. Lighting Lad standing with a grin on his face. Before the villains could react they were telekinetic hurled against a wall. The person responsible for the attack stepped forward, it was Imra Ardeen a.k.a. Saturn Girl. "Hi there," Saturn girl smiled. Silver Cyclone tried to attack Saturn Girl, but found himself unable to move, immobilised by some unknown force. The person responsible for immobilising Silver Cyclone, was Rokk Krinn a.k.a. Cosmic Boy. "Error," Silver Cyclone said, "motion impeded." "Sorry to spoil your fun," Cosmic Boy declared, "but it's what the Legion of Superheroes do." With that, Cosmic boy flung Silver Cyclone through a nearby wall. Hammer was about to chuck his weapon at Cosmic Boy, but was struck on the back of the head from behind, by a shield, a shield which looked like Captain America's. "Who dares?!" Hammer demanded, as he turned to face his attacker. "I dare," the figure, who had attacked Hammer, responded, as his shield boomeranged its way back to him. The figure was Vance Astro a.k.a. Major Victory While Major Victory was occupied fighting Hammer, Elasti-man turned his attention to Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. "Once we're done with you," he smirked, "your new friends are next." Elasti-man advanced on the beaten Rainbow and Pinkie. Rainbow Dash tried using her ring, but Elasti-man simply stretched his body around her attacks. "Lights out," Elasti-man declared, as he loomed over Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. But, before Elasti-man could even touch the two girls, he was struck by a blast of energy from above. The person who had fired the blast landed in front of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. "I suggest you two come with me," the figure, Stakar Ogord a.k.a. Starhawk, said. "You'll pay for that!" The Spider snarled, as he swung towards Starhawk. However, Before The Spider could attack, he was backhanded by a 6 foot tall figure. "Something tells me, you guys needed backup," the figure smiled. "You were right," Starhawk replied. The figure was Charlie-27, a genetically engineered solider from Jupiter. "Ah, The One Who Knows," Rama-Tut declared, as and the other villains advanced on Starhawk, Charlie-27 and the girls. "Back off, pal," Charlie-27 said, drawing a giant gatling gun, which was attached to his back, "or your swiss cheese." "Well, hero," Rama-Tut smirked, drawing his own weapon from the a device on his belt, "which of us shall blink, first?" Both hero and villains eyes lock, they each draw breath. But before, ether of them could fire a single shot, "Starhawk," Charlie-27 cried, "now!" Before the villains could react, Starhawk released a blinding flash of light. In the confusion, Starhawk grabbed Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. Major Victory, Charlie-27, Lighting Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy followed their teammates. "Run, heroes, run!" Rama-Tut laughed, "there is no escape." Legion HQ. "Arrr," Rainbow Dash groaned, as she and Pinkie Pie recovered from the beating the villains had given them. "You two, Ok?" Saturn Girl asked. "Yeah," Rainbow Dash replied, "thanks for the save, back there." "We're glad to help," Major Victory smiled. "My head feels like a pinata," Pinkie Pie mumbled, as she slowly began to come around. "Take in easy," Cosmic Boy said, "that was some beating you took." Rainbow Dash slowly got to her feet, Pinkie Pie followed shortly after her. Just then, Lighting Lad and Starhawk entered the room. "Can you believe it?" Lighting Lad was saying, "it's actually them!" He could hardly contain his excitement. "Contain yourself, Lighting Lad," Starhawk commented. "In the flesh," Lighting Lad carried on, seemingly ignoring Starhawk, "I can't believe I'm face to face with the Rainbow Dash!" "OK, hold up," Rainbow Dash interrupted, "how do you know my name?" "Know your name?!" Lighting Lad replied, "I know everything about you and your friends!" "What??" Rainbow answered. "Uncr....." Pinkie added, sharing Rainbow Dash's shock. ".....edible!!" Lighting Lad finished, "I knew you'd say that." "Breath Garth," Saturn Girl smiled, "breath." "You may not know it, yet," Cosmic Boy said, "but in this era, you and your friends are legends." Rainbow Dash felt like her mouth had hit the floor, when she heard that. "Our team is formed around the values and elements of friendship the seven of you upheld through your actions and music." "You all become a huge sensation in the future," Saturn Girl nodded, "I grew up listening to your songs." "It's because of the seven of you," Charlie-27 continued, "that the Earth learns to be tolerate of other races and planets." "That's enough," Starhawk interrupted, "we're all excited to have two legends here, but we know that telling them their own future is dangerous." "Legends," Rainbow Dash repeated, to herself. "Come on," Lighting Lad said, "the others will want to meet you, too." Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie followed Lighting Lad from the recovery ward to the central meeting/control room. In the room were the rest of the Legion of Superheroes and Guardians of Galaxy. "Ah," a light blue skinned teenager said, as the two entered, "good to see the two of you back on your feet." "Thanks," Rainbow Dash replied, then she noticed the three nodes on the teen's forehead, "Brainiac!" "Wasn't he a machine?" Pinkie Pie asked Rainbow Dash, "and didn't Superman fight him and send him to the scrapheap?" "Wait!" a girl with hair that looked like it was on fire interrupted, "you've got it all wrong, Brainy's our friend." "Huh?" Rainbow Dash asked, confused. "You are correct," the blue teen nodded, "I am a Brainiac, but I'm not a machine, I'm organic, the Brainiac you've heard of is my ancestor, I am Brainiac 5, I help my friends keep the word safe to make up for my ancestor's legacy of evil." "Ah," Lighting Lad said, as he joined Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, "I see you've already met Brainy." "Yes," Brainiac 5 nodded, "I may I say it is a real honour." "In that case," Lighting Lad continued, "allow me to introduce you to the rest of our team." The other members of the team stepped forward, these being: Blok, Nicholette Gold a.k.a. Nikki, Reep Daggle a.k.a. Chameleon Boy, Aleta Ogord, Gim Allon a.k.a. Colossal Boy, Yondu Udonta, Andrew Nolan a.k.a. Ferro Lad, Martinex T'Naga, Mon-El, Krugarr, Charles 'Chuck' Taine a.k.a. Bouncing Boy, Jo Nah a.k.a. Ultra Boy, Dawnstar, Tasmia Mallor a.k.a. Shadow Lass, Brin Londo a.k.a. Timber Wolf, Jan Arrah a.k.a. Element Lad, Nura Nal a.k.a. Dream Girl, Jacques Foccart a.k.a. Invisible Kid, Drake Burroughs a.k.a. Wildfire and CeCe Beck a.k.a. Thunder. All the members were starstruck and surprised to meet Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. "So," Mon-El, a Daxamite an offshoot of Kryptonians, asked, "what bring the two of you to the 31st century?" "Well," Pinkie began, "this really bad guy named Kang is traveling through out history and taking out any heroes he and his army can find." "Hmmm," Brainiac 5 said, after some thought, "that might explain whats blocking Starhawk's foresight and Dream Girl's visions." "What do you mean, Brainy?" Wildfire inqured. "Well," Brainiac 5 replied, "since Kang and his forces are attacking the past and future simultaneously, all of time is in flux." Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes, "Twilight would have field day you," she groaned, "you're going to put that in terms for those of us that don't speak egghead?" "To put it simply," Brainiac 5 continued, "all of time is like static on a TV." "Wait a minute," Timber Wolf interjected, "if the heroes of the past don't exist, then how are we still here?" "Time is in flux, Timber Wolf," Brainiac 5 replied, "for all we know, any one of us could cease to exist at anytime." The whole room was silent. "Whoa," Chameleon Boy, an alien from a race of shapeshifters called the Durlan, breathed, breaking the silent "this is heavy." "Back on topic," Martinex, a crystal alien from Pluto, said, "when Lighting Lad and the others found you, he told us that your attackers looked like Thor, Spiderman, Elongated man and Red Tornado." "Yeah, whats up with that?" Element Lad inquired. "Well," Brainiac 5 answered, "I think we can assume that they are evil, twisted counterparts to the heroes." "Also the guy leading them," Ultra Boy added, "he looked like he'd stepped straight out of ancient Egypt." "If you'd studied your history," Brainiac 5 continued, "you'd know that one of the Pharaohs of Egypt was named Rama-Tut." "He must be Kang's ancestor," Nikki, a genetically engineered human from Mercury, realised. "Ok," Thunder said, "enough with the egghead talk, lets go bash some bad guys." "Sounds like a plan," Wildfire nodded. "All we need to do is find these guys so we can...." was all Bouncing Boy could say, before a huge explosion rocked the HQ. "Well," Dawnstar sighed, "at least, we don't have to look far to find them." "Right," Rainbow Dash nodded, "let's go." "No," Starhawk said, as he and the remaining members of the Legion and Guardians entered the room. "What!?" Pinkie Pie protested. "I'm sorry," Starhawk replied, "but I must insist that you two remain here in control room." "My brother is right," Aleta continued, before ether Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie could protest, "we can't put your lives in danger, if anything happens to you in this time the results could be catastrophic." "Yeah," Rainbow Dash retorted, "the reason the Rama-Tut and those villains are here is to take all of you out." "Regardless," Shadow Lass said, "the both of you are remain here, in the control room." "That's an order," Mon-El finished. With that, most of the Legion of Superheroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy left the control room. Yondu, Chameleon Boy, Charlie-27 and Ferro Lad remained behind with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. The lower levels of Legion HG "What are we waiting for?" The Spider whined. "Yeah," Elasti-man grumbled, "I hate waiting." "Aye," Hammer nodded, sounding as equally annoyed as his comrades, "waiting is a coward's tactic." "Affirmative," Silver Cyclone agreed, "waiting is illogical." "Patience, my friends, Patience" Rama-Tut murmured, "everything comes to those who wait." "Halt!" Mon-El commanded, as he, the Legion and the Guardians arrived at the villains locations. "Finally," The Spider smirked, "and I thought this was going to be boring." "Alright," Elasti-man said, "let's rock." "Finally," Hammer smiled, "some opponents, worthy to challenge the might of the Hydra." "Observation:" Silver Cyclone spoke, "You are all going to die." "Foolish, heroes!" Rama-Tut laughed, "I am a conqueror of men, a Pharaoh, its amusing you fools think you can defeat me." He nodded to the villains, "you all know what to do," he smiled. Without another word, the heroes and the villains charged at each other. Back in the control room. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and the remaining Legion and Guardians members watched the battle unfold. "You think the others will be able to beat them?" Pinkie Pie asked. "I don't know," Yondu replied, "I don't think we've encountered foes like this before." "We have to help them," Rainbow Dash insisted. "No," Yondu replied, "we have our orders." "To protect the two you," Ferro lad finished. "But if your teammates lose," Rainbow Dash argued, "then all of you will never have existed." "Ok," Charlie-27 said, "what do you have in mind?" "We kick butt," Rainbow Dash replied. "Just better," Pinkie Pie finished. "If you're going to go out there," Ferro lad interrupted, "at least go prepared." He produced a ring from a storage cabinet, "you'll need this," he said, handing the ring to Pinkie, "Legion flight ring." "You're both gonna need these," Yondu added, taking some star-shaped badges from another storage cabinet, "Guardian's communication/teleportation stars." "The ring works through mental control," Chameleon boy explained, "and allows you to fly." "Finally I have a ring," Pinkie squealed, flying around, she had mastered the flight ring quickly "Alright," Rainbow Dash said, as she put on the Guardian's star "let's go." Back to the battle. Rama-Tut stood over the defeated heroes. "Foolish heroes," he laughed, "You really thought you could beat me?" "It an't over till the fat lady sings" Mon-El declared, as he and other Legion members and Guardian members got to their feet. "Declaration:" Silver Cyclone stated, "you are beaten and yet you keep fighting, what do you hope to accomplish?" "You really wanna know?" Colossal Boy responded. "We don't fight for ourselves," Blok, an alien from a race of sentient rock-creatures, continued. "We fight to protect those who cannot protect themselves," Dream Girl carried on. "From monsters like you," Timber Wolf added. "That is the very thing that makes us who we are," Krugarr, an alien from a race of long-lived beings called Lems, finished, "and thats something evil like yours will never understand." As Legion members and the Guardians were keeping the villains distracted, Invisible kid, using his powers, crept up begin Silver Cyclone. But, before Invisible kid could strike, Silver Cyclone's head rotated around to face him. "Observation:" Silver Cyclone said, "you are dimwitted." Invisible kid didn't have time to react, before he thrown across the room by a torrent of wind. But, just before he could hit the ground Invisible kid was surrounded by blue energy, which set him down on the ground. "What?!" The Spider demanded. "Hey, meanie," a voice called, "you like picking on people?" "Try picking on us then," another voice finished. The villains turned to see Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Yondu, Chameleon Boy, Charlie-27 and Ferro Lad. "What are you guys doing here?" Mon-El asked, as the girls and the rest of the heroes joined him and others. "Come on," Rainbow Dash smiled, "we weren't just going to leave you guys hanging." "Don't get mad at us," Pinkie Pie added, "you would have done the same thing, if you were us." "They have a point," Brainiac 5 nodded. "Ok," Mon-El agreed, "I say we show Rama-Tut and his goons what we can do together." "Alright, everyone," Rainbow Dash declared, "let's do this." "She's right," agreed Cosmic Boy, as he and rest of Legion and the Guardians got their feet and joined the girls and the others, "we can beat them if we work together." "What are you waiting for?" Rama-Tut barked, at the evil hero analogs, "GET THEM!" The villains obeyed, charging at the heroes. The girls and the heroes likewise charged at their attackers. A furious battle erupted as the two teams clashed. The girls and the heroes fought as hard as they could against villains using the best of their abilities. All this unfolded while Rama-Tut looked on. After a while, the villains were defeated, leaving only Rama-Tut. "If you'd like to give up," Major Victory proclaimed, "now would be a good time." "You think you've won?" Rama-Tut laughed, "you are only prolonging the inevitable." With that, Rama-Tut and the evil counterparts disappeared. "Yeah," Lighting Lad cried, "you'd better run." "Thank you," Starhawk said, "and I'm sorry we tried to keep you out of the fight." "It's alright," Pinkie Pie smiled. "Besides we couldn't just leave you guys to fight alone," Rainbow Dash added, "because thats what friends do, they have each other's backs." "Theres a reason you and your friends are legends," Cosmic Boy said. "So what happens now?" Chameleon Boy asked. "Well, you guys are safe," Rainbow Dash replied, "so our work here is done." "Before you go," Brainiac 5 said, before the girls could leave, "we can't allow you to keep the Legion ring and the Guardian's stars." "Awww," Pinkie Pie sighed, as she gave her Legion flight ring to Brainiac 5, "well, it was fun while it lasted." "Sorry," Brainiac 5 replied, as Rainbow Dash handed him the Guardian's stars, "but if we let you keep them the future technology could pollute the timestream." "But still," Saturn Girl interjected, "we'd like to make the two of honorary legionnaires." "Awesome," Rainbow Dash smiled, "catch you guys next time." "Anytime, you guys are in the past," Pinkie Pie said, sharing Rainbow Dash's smile, "feel free to drop by and say hi." "Noted," Wildfire replied. With that, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie activated their recall devices and disappeared back to the Waverider. "Wow," Ultra Boy remarked, "so that was Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie." "Let us never forget their actions here, today," Starhawk nodded. "Indeed," Element Lad nodded, "it is because of what they stood for that we continue the fight for a better future." > Chapter 9 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles. "The humans defeated you?" Kang asked, almost speechless with rage. He glared down at the other versions of himself: Scarlet Centurion, who had returned from 1889, Immortus, who had returned from 2069, Rama-Tut, who had returned from the 31st century and Kangaroo the Conquer, who had returned from 1871 and Iron Lad, who was Kang before he became the Conquer. "You were defeated by seven humans?" Kang fumed, "you should have known not to underestimate them." "And you didn't account for them having help," Scarlet Centurion replied. "Indeed," nodded Immortus, "my friends, we have a....." "I do not care, for your excuses!" Kang thundered, "as far as I can see you are all worthless." The whole room had suddenly gone deathly silent. "Get out of my sight!" Kang ordered. Without another word, Immortus, Rama-Tut, Kangaroo and Scarlet Centurion left the room. Iron Lad was, now, the only one left in the room. He was just about to leave when Kang put his hand on his shoulder. "Between you and me," he said, "I believe there is a traitor in our midst." "Is that so?" Iron Lad replied. "Yes," Kang responded, "I advice you to trust no one." Iron Lad nodded, trying to hide the fear he was feeling. Kang then changed his tone. "Tomorrow, my friend," he said, "a new era in earth's history will dawn, the era of Kang." With that, Kang turned on his heel and left the room. The Waverider, outside of space and time. The girls were all reunited and were now explaining their experiences in the different timezones. "Well," Rip said, as the girls finished their catch up, "the four eras are safe, whats the next move?" "We take the fight to Kang," Rainbow Dash replied, Gwenpool agreeing with her. "I agree with Rainbow," Applejack nodded, "I think its about time we show Kang, what for." "We need a plan first," Twilight interjected, Sunset agreeing with her, "we can't just go in guns blazing." "I think Twilight is right," Rarity said, "we can't just go charging in like ruffians." "Um, what is the plan?" Fluttershy asked. Before anyone could argue, Gideon interrupted. "We're receiving a message," she said. "Where from?" Rip queried. "The source is encrypted," Gideon replied, "I'm having trouble tracing the transmission." "Put the message on screen," Twilight said. Shortly, a holographic screen appeared on the central console. "Time is running out," a blurred figure said, "Kang is only hours away from complete control of the earth, you must strike before its all over, board Kang's ship, I'll meet you there, follow my lead." With that, the message ended and the figure disappeared. "That voice sounded familiar," Fluttershy said, as soon as the message ended. "Your right," agreed Rarity, "thats the voice of the person who helped when we were in 1889." "Wait," Twilight chipped in, "you had someone help you out too?" "Yes," Rarity replied, "Why do you ask?" "Me and Twilight also ran into someone in 2069," Sunset explained. "You mean, you met the same person as me and Rarity?" Fluttershy asked. "Not exactly," Twilight replied, "the person we met was male, the voice in the message was female." "So what do we do?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Well," Sunset responded, "the message said we go to Kang's ship, so I say we go." "What if its a trap?" Gwenpool stated. "Then bring it on," Rainbow Dash replied. "We don't have a lot of choices, right now," Rip added. "Then I say we go," Twilight said, "we have a lot of time to act." Gwenpool and all the girls nodded, their rings glowing brightly, Gwenpool and Pinkie Pie readied themselves for battle. Outside Kang the Conquer's ship. "Ok," Rip briefed, the girls, "I'll keep the Waverider just out of range, to avoid detection." "Meanwhile," Twilight continued, "the rest of us will sneak onboard and stop Kang." "Good Luck," Rip said, as the girls left the Waverider. Inside Kang the Conquer's ship. The girls and Gwenpool crept around the many corridors of Kang's ship. "So where do you think our mystery friend will meet us?" Gwenpool asked. "I don't know," Twilight replied, "but we'd better find her before Kang's next move." The group rounded another corner and there, the armoured figure from 2069 stood. "It's you," Sunset greeted, as they approached the figure, "you're the one who helped Superman." "I'm sorry," the figure said, as the girls rushed up to him. "For what?" Applejack asked, confused. Before, anyone could react the figure placed energy cuffs and power dampeners on all of them. "Hey!" Rainbow Dash protested, "what gives?" "Follow my lead," the figure whispered, as some of Kang's guards arrived. "Inform Kang," the figure ordered, as they guards lead the girls and Gwenpool away, "that the ones who have interfered with his plans have been apprehended." "Right," one of the guards said, "we'll take them to the cells." "That will not necessary," the figure interjected, "I'll take them to the cells myself." "But...." the guard began. "That's an order," the figure replied, "I want to ensure that they can't interfere any further." Without another word, the guards returned to their duties. The figure turned to the girls, "follow me," he said. With that, the figure led the girls and Gwenpool to the ship's cell block. "Ok," the figure said, once they arrived at the cells, "we are clear from the surveillance monitors. Sorry about that," he apologised, as he removed the girl's and Gwenpool's restraints, "I had make it look real." "So how are you?" Applejack asked. "We are just people you can trust," another voice replied, as the figure from 1889 stepped out of the shadows. "You're the one who sent the message," Twilight exclaimed. "Seriously," Rainbow Dash cried, "who are the two are you?!" "All you need to know is that we are on your side," the other figure responded, seemingly ignoring Rainbow Dash's question. "We can worry about that later," Sunset said, "right now, we need to work out a plan." "And I think I know what the first step should be," Gwenpool added. "What?" the girls asked. "I think that we should take a page out of Kang's book," Gwenpool answered. "What do you mean?" Fluttershy asked, the rest of the girls sharing her confusion. "Well," Gwenpool continued, "since Kangs been sending evil hero analogs after us, I say we do the same." "I'm not quiet following you," Rarity commented. "I think what Gwens getting at," Twilight said, slowly "we raise an army of our own." "Right," Gwenpool nodded. "Alright then," Sunset declared, "we'll split up, first team will go to where Kang's been summoning the evil heroes and gather us an army." "The rest of us," Twilight continued, "will try to disrupt Kang's plans and then we confront Kang himself." "Okie dokie lokie," Pinkie Pie nodded, "let's go." "Sounds like a plan," Rainbow Dash agreed. With that, the girls and Gwenpool spilt into two teams: Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Sunset Shimmer, Pinkie Pie and the figure from 2069 in one team. And Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Gwenpool and the figure from 1889 in the second team. "Alright," Rainbow Dash smiled, "let's roll." With that, the two teams separated to complete their missions. Kang's ship, the bridge. "My lord," one of Kang's subordinates said. "Report," Kang responded. "The prisoners that were taken to the cells have escaped," the subordinate answered. "Escaped?!" Kang replied, practically speechless. "What are you commands, my lord?" the subordinate asked. "Search every inch of the ship!" Kang thundered, "I want those interlopers brought to me!" Elsewhere. "Follow me," the figure from 2069 said, as he led the members of team one through the winding passages of Kang's ship. Soon, the team arrived at the part of the ship where the machine Kang used to summon the evil analog heroes was located. There were two guards outside the room where the machine was located. With some quick strikes, Rainbow Dash and Applejack took out the guards. "Two of you stand guard," the figure said, "while I access the time and dimensional transporter's controls." "Right," Sunset nodded. "Righty-o," Pinkie Pie acknowledged, as she and Sunset stood guard by the door. With that, the figure began hacking the transporter's controls. Meanwhile, the engine room. "Ok," Twilight said, "we need to disable the engines, then Kang will have focus on repairing them." "We'll to create a diversion," Rarity added, "that way we can take out the engines while the guards are distracted." "Leave the diversion to me," the figure from 1889 responded. The girls and Gwenpool exchanged a confused look, but said nothing. "We'll still need something to disable the engines," Fluttershy stated. "I've got just the thing," Gwenpool piped up, "EMPC." "EMPC?" Twilight repeated, "what are these?" "Electromagnetic Pulse bombs with a C-4 kicker," Gwenpool replied. "How'd you make those?" Twilight asked. "I watch a lot of YouTube videos," Gwenpool answered. "Alright then," Twilight said, "we have a plan, time to execute it." Back with team one. "Alright," the figure from 2069 said, "the controls are hacked and the transporter is online." The transporter's control screen displayed images of various heroes from various universes and time periods. "Let's have look," Sunset murmured, as she surveyed the monitor screen. Rainbow Dash and Applejack joined Pinkie Pie with guarding the door. Elsewhere, with team two. "Alright," Twilight said, "the EMPC charges are set." "And here we go," Gwenpool breathed, activating the detonator for the EMPC. Kang's ship, the bridge. "Report!" Kang thundered. "There was an explosion in the engine room," one of Kang's subordinates answered, "all electronics in the engine room have been disabled." "Get down there," Kang fumed, "BRING. THEM. TO. ME!" Back with team one. "Alright," Sunset said, as she pressed the button to summon the heroes she had picked. "Energy levels sufficient," the transporter stated, "dimensions breached, summoning individuals." Shortly after, there was a flash and the chosen individuals appeared. "Welcome, heroes," the figure from 2069 greeted, the summoned heroes. "I bet you're wondering why we called you all here," Sunset added, as the summoned heroes got their bearings. Elsewhere, with team two. Everyone ran through the corridors of Kang's ship. All the while, alarms sounded, "Security lockdown!" a voice bleared, "security lockdown! All personal are to apprehend five intruders, location now being transmitted to all screens and memory banks, security lockdown!" "We have to keep moving," the figure from 1889 shouted, urgently. "Ya think?" Rarity replied. Ahead of them, was another corridor, but before they could get through it, the bulkhead door slammed shut. "We're trapped!" Fluttershy cried, as she and the rest of the girls screeched to a holt in front of the sealed door. "End of the line," Arno Stark a.k.a. Iron man 2020 smirked. "Theres nowhere to run," Tactical Force, the Hydra Iron man, declared, as he, Iron man 2020 and some of Kang's forces closed in on Twilight and the others. But before, every of the girls could attack they were restrained and forcefully led away. Kang's ship, the bridge. "Well," Kang remarked, as the girls, Gwenpool and the figure from 1889 were brought before him, "if it isn't the little announces, finally fallen to the might of Kang the Conquer." "You call yourself Conquer," the figure from 1889 growled, "but there is one thing that you can't conquer, our willpower." Kang stopped dead in his tracks, "Ravonna?" he uttered. "Yes, Kang," Terminatrix a.k.a. Ravonna Renslayer answered, "me." "My love?!" Kang whispered, still in shock. "My love?!" Rarity repeated, in surprise. "Seeing these heroes," Terminatrix continued, "seeing these good people, nobly fight on gave me the strength, strength to stand up to my own oppressor, my captor, my.....my love." "You betrayed me?!" Kang uttered, energy surged around his clenched fists, "You," he fumed, "you....." For Moment, Kang looked like he really was going to strike Terminatrix down. "I can't kill you," he relented. He turned his attention to Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy and Gwenpool. "But," he continued, "I can kill your friends." Before Terminatrix could intervene, she was restrained by some of Kang's subordinates. "You all have been thorns in my side, long enough," Kang declared, fists glowing with energy, "and when I'm done with the four of you, the rest of your friends will follow." Twilight and the others stood their ground as they waited for the end. "No," Terminatrix cried, struggling against her restrainers, "you can't." Then suddenly, Kang was hit by blast of ice, which temporarily immobilised him. "Sorry, we couldn't get here quick enough," remarked a voice that came from where the blasts had come from, "but we didn't get an invitation to the party." Twilight and the others turned to see who had fired the blast and were so happy by the sight that met their eyes. There was Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, the figure from 2069, behind them was an army of different heroes, some they had already met and some that they hadn't met. The person responsible for the ice blast, Leo Snart a.k.a. Citizen Cold, the Captain Cold from Earth-X, holstered his cold gun. "I'm not a fan of conquers or dictators much," he smiled. Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy and Gwenpool quickly freed Terminatrix and joined the others along with the army of heroes. "Your move," the figure from 2069 declared. Kang gazed at the figure in utter disbelief, "You?!" he said. > Chapter 10 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The assembled army of heroes stood facing Kang defiantly. "Even you have turned against me?!" Kang fumed. "Yes," Nathaniel Richards a.k.a. Iron Lad responded, "I have seen everything that you have done, all the lives that you have destroyed, all the countless civilisations reduced to ash and I'd rather be dead than become a monster like you." "Become a monster like you?" Sunset repeated. "Will someone please explain what is going on?!" Rainbow Dash asked. "I knew I recognised him, from one of my old comic books." Gwenpool said, "but couldn't put my finger on it, until now." "What do you mean?" Applejack queried. "Iron Lad is Kang, before he became Kang," Gwenpool explained. "How does that begin to make sense?!" Rarity whispered, frantically. "Like Professor Zoom a.k.a. Reverse Flash," Gwenpool continued, "There are multiple versions of Kang in different timelines." "I would never have believed that even you would turn against me!" Kang thundered, "I'm very ashamed of you, you were one I trusted and you turned out to be the traitor." "I will do whatever it takes," Iron Lad responded, "to ensure that I never become you, because if you are my future then I reject it!" "So be it," Kang smiled, "reject me, then you reject all of us." Suddenly, from out of nowhere the other versions of Kang appeared: Scarlet Centurion, Rama-Tut, Immortus and Kangaroo the Conquer. Behind them were the evil versions of heroes and the evil versions of the CHS seven The Elements of Insanity. "Those who are not with me!" Kang declared, "are against me and all those who oppose me will be crushed!" "Bring it on!" Rainbow Dash declared. "LEEROY JENKINS!" Gwenpool cried, she pulled out a boombox and began blasting We're not going take it by Twisted Sister. Without another word, the two armies engaged each other. All over the battlefield, various heroes battled with various villains. Roger 'Rodney' Rabbit a.k.a. Captain Carrot and Peter Porker a.k.a. Spiderham, of the Anivengers from the Aniverse, fought with Kal-Il a.k.a. Ultraman and Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider Wolf. Shannon Carter a.k.a. American Dream and Uncle Sam, faced off with Harold Jordan a.k.a. Power Ring and Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Maniac. Mary Maxwell a.k.a. The Flash, from Earth-6, and Peni Parker, in her Spider mech suit, called SP//dr, battled against Militant, the Hydra version of Captain America, and Thaddeus Thawne the second a.k.a. Inertia, the evil counterpart of the hero Impulse. Jackie a.k.a. The Jokester and Sir Percy of Scandia a.k.a. the original Black Knight fought against Flipside, an android with the powers of Spiderman 2099 and William Mallory a.k.a. Wrath Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Bat-Lantern, the Batman from Earth-32, and Harold Stark a.k.a. Iron Lantern, an amalgam of Iron man and Green Lantern, battled with Ralph Roberts a.k.a. Cobalt man and Kestrel. Wonderous Man, the gender swapped version of Wonder Woman from Earth 11, and Gwen Stacy a.k.a. Ghost Spider fought against Spidercide, an evil shapeshifting clone of Spiderman, and Justice Lord Batman. Jonah Hex and Major Victory faced off against Joseph Meach a.k.a. Composite Superman. Miguel O'Hara a.k.a. Spider man 2099 and The Flash from 1889 fought against The Maestro, the Hulk's evil alternate future self. Lastly, The Rainbooms and Gwenpool battled aganist the Elements of Insanity. Rainbow Dash fighting Rainbine, Fluttershy fighting Fluttershot, Applejack fighting Applepills, Twilight Sparkle fighting Brutilight Sparcake, Pinkie Pie fighting Pinkis Cupcake, Rarity fighting Rarfruit, Sunset Shimmer fighting Painset Shimmercakes and Gwenpool fighting Derpigun. After hours of fighting, the heroes finally defeated all of Kang's forces, leaving only Kang himself. "Surrender!" Sunset stated, "It's over." "How right you are, Primitive," Kang smiled, pressing button on his control chair, "if I cannot have this world, then nether can you." Seconds later, a spherical object ejected from Kang's ship towards the earth, "now stand and watch," he declared, "as your world burns." "You're insane!" Terminatrix cried, "if you destroy the earth now, then there will be an earth for you to rule in the future." "So be it!" Kang declared, while laughing maniacally. Before Kang could continue he was knocked unconscious by Applejack. "Kang's down," Gwenpool breathed. "But the threat isn't over, yet," Rarity added. "We have to take out Kang's weapon before it destroys the earth," Twilight said. "Me and Gideon will try and use the Waverider to slow it down," Rip's voice replied, through the girls communicators. "Is there anyone who can help Rip?" Fluttershy asked. Peter Parker a.k.a. Cosmic Spiderman, Takuya Yamashiro a.k.a. Spiderman, Calvin Ellis a.k.a. President Superman, Clark Kent a.k.a. True Brit Superman, CeCe Beck a.k.a. Thunder and Hoppy a.k.a. Marvel Bunny stepped up. "Alright," Applejack said, "while the six of you stop Kang's weapon, the rest of us will round the evil hero analogs and send them back to their home dimensions and time periods." "Alright guys," President Superman declared, "let's go." "Right behind you, Mr. President," Cosmic Spiderman replied. Outside of Kang's Ship. The Waverider and the six heroes were on route to intercept Kang's weapon, Spiderman following the Waverider in his giant robot called Leopardon. Rip and Spiderman were the first to act, using the Waverider's tractor beam and Leopardon's String to try and slow the weapon's decent. Next, Cosmic Spiderman, President Superman, True Brit Superman, Thunder and Marvel Bunny, used all their combined strength to push the weapon away from the earth. Back inside Kang's ship. The Rainbooms, Gwenpool, Terminatrix and Iron Lad stood over Kang the Conquer. Kang was restrained by the girl's rings and energy cuffs that Iron Lad had provided. "Soon," Kang smirked, "the earth will be reduced to dust." Just then from outside, there was a flash and then an explosion as Kang's weapon detonated away from the earth. "No," Kang cried, "NO!" In his anger, Kang released a surge of energy, freeing himself from his binding, "You all will pay for what you have done," he snarled, a futurist blade materialising in his hand, "you all will die by my hands!" "Stay back!" Terminatrix ordered, "or I'll....I'll...." her clenched fists trembled. "I know you didn't have it in you, Ravonna," Kang remarked. Without even thinking, Terminatrix charged at Kang. He dodged all her attacks and knocked her aside, "as for the rest of you," Kang said, as he turned to face the Rainbooms and Gwenpool, "if I am going to lose, then you all are going lose too." "NO!" Iron Lad cried, he fired a blast at Kang, sending the blade flying away, and then with a final blast from the Rainbooms Kang was thrown to the ground. "How does it feel?!" Iron Lad asked, "to get so close to a full conquest and end up on the ground?" "Now I see," Kang replied, realisation having struck him, "it's written." "Nothing written," Iron Lad responded, defiantly. Kang once again tried to attack, but Iron Lad simply blasted him down again. Finally, Iron Lad stood over the defeated conquer, energy surged from his armour, he raised his hand. "DO IT!" Kang screamed, "KILL ME AND YOU BECOME ME, EITHER WAY, I LIVE!" For a second, Iron Lad looked like he was going to kill Kang the Conquer. Then, "No," he said, lowering his hand and taking his helmet off, "I'll never let the pain, the darkness, determine who I am.....I will never be you." With that, Iron Lad dealt the final blow to Kang with a single punch to the face, knocking him unconscious. "Well done," Twilight said. "You made the right chose," Sunset smiled. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" Rainbow Dash declared. "What did we miss?" President Superman asked, as he and other six heroes entered the room, then they noticed the defeated Kang the Conquer. "I say old boy," True Brit Superman congratulated, "golly good show." "So what do we do with Kang?" Applejack asked. "We'll take care of him," a voice answered. The voice belonged to Max Borne a.k.a. Spiderman from the year 2211, a member of the temporal police called the Timespinners. "Kang the Conquer," Spiderman 2211 stated, shaking Kang awake and cuffing him, "you stand accused of manipulation of the timeline." "I will go," Kang said, as he was let away, "but know this," he continued, "the worst is yet to come." With that, Spiderman 2211 and Kang the Conquer vanished. "So, what happens now?" Fluttershy asked. "You all will be returned to your home dimensions and proper time periods," Iron Lad replied. "Will we remember any of this?" Twilight inquired. "The eight of you will remember what has happened," Terminatrix responded, "since you were directly involved with the events that transpired here." "The others may have a few bouts of deja vu, sometimes," Iron Lad carried on, "but for the most part, the rest of you won't remember any of this." "That's a shame," Rainbow Dash shrugged, turning to Hobart 'Hobie' Brown a.k.a. Spider Punk, "I was looking forward to challenging you to a shred-off." "Hold on, guys!" Pinkie Pie interrupted, "we just saved the entire space time continuum, are you all just gonna say goodbye without a victory party?!" "You know what," Sunset smiled, "Pinkie's right, I think we should celebrate our victory, we have this giant spaceship and all." "Then what are we waiting for?" Pinkie beamed, pulling out her party cannon, "let's PARTY!" A few hours later, the ship was alive with the sounds of partying. Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, Spider Punk and Ghost Spider were playing Awesome as I want to be. Everyone else was celebrating and singing along with the music. > Epilogue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canterlot, The Present. "Well," Rip said, as soon as the Waverider had landed, "Here was are, present day, moments after you left." "Wow," Sunset smiled, "no one at CHS is going to believe this." "I still can't believe it myself," Twilight said, "we actually travelled through time." "And I still can't believe how our actions impact the future," Rainbow Dash added. "Your lives as heroes have made a difference, " Rip declared, as The Rainbooms and Gwenpool turned to leave the Waverider, "but you all go on to lead exciting and significant lives, after you hang up your costumes." "Well," Rarity said, "it's good to know that with us around, the future is in safe hands." "Goodbye, Rainbooms," Rip replied, "the Time Masters and the Time Breau won't forget your actions here to day." "See ya around, Rip" Pinkie Pie acknowledged, as the girls and Gwenpool exited the Waverider's control room. Canterlot "Everything seems normal," Fluttershy said, as she, the girls and Gwenpool walked through the streets of Canterlot, it was like Kang's invasion had never happened, everyone seemed to be going about their normal lives. "Yeah," Sunset replied, "but where are our friends?" Just then, a voice called out, "Hey, you guys!" The voice belonged to rookie Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, as he landed near where the girls and Gwenpool were. He was followed by Quicksliver along with Silk, Starfire and Twilight's dog Spike. "Where were you guys?" Silk asked, as she, Starfire and Quicksliver joined Kyle. "What do you mean?" Twilight responded. "Don't give us that," Quicksliver said, indignity, "we've been waiting for you for ten minutes and you guys just happen to turn up now." "Indeed," Starfire nodded, "I am also wanting the explanation." "We all are wanting 'the explanation'," Silk agreed. They were all sipping Martian Manhunter milkshakes, aside from Starfire who was drinking mustard, while the girls and Gwenpool explained where they had been. "So we were erased from existence?" Arizona went on to introduce the rest of her group consisting of: Oleander, Pom, Tianho, Paprika, Velvet and Vance Astrovik. The girls stared at the seven. "Are you guys OK?" Oleander asked, "you all look like you've seen a ghost." "Sorry about that," Sunset replied, "Some of you remind us of some people we know." "Anyway," Rarity smiled, as regained her composure, "welcome to CHS." "You'll have a really great year," Twilight remarked.
