the backstory of Queen Chrysalis that will change Equestrian history forever
After the second defeat of queen chrysalis, an old Pegasus winds up on twilight's doorstep claiming she is a friend of chrysalis as the group unravels the tale of chrysalis's past can they change a queen or will she forever be a changeling.
The jungle was no place a changeling, let alone a queen. Chrysalis was desperate though. Two months pasted since Starlight Glimmer came and turned her whole kingdom against her. Chrysalis was weak low on food, and since this was a wide not many ponies were found, and she can't risk going into pony civilization. All hope was lost for her, weak, hungry, and with a mind set on revenge, Chrysalis collapse on the ground helpless that was until that was until a rustle of leaves was heard behind her. Chrysalis knew this was either a animal or hopefully a pony, either way chrysalis ducked behind a bush, she was in no conditioned to stand up for herself, but she still watched. What came into the clearing Chrysalis was not expecting. it was a orange-yellow pegasus with a black and grey mane. Chrysalis was grateful and saw her opportunity. She still knew magic and used that to transform into the only pony this mare cared about . Before she stepped out Chrysalis looked at herself she was not happy with the pony she became. Chrysalis now had a cyan coat two pegasi wings, violate eyes, and a rainbow mane. Yes, Chrysalis became the element of loyalty, Rainbow Dash, one of the ponies who has ruined her plans and life, but Chrysalis was desperate and stepped into the clearing.
"Who goes there", The mare shouted as Chrysalis stepped into the clearing, "Oh its just you Rainbow Dash, what are you doing here."
"Oh hey.... you", Chrysalis was hesitant with her answer not knowing anything about the pony she then came up with an excuse on why she's here, "I'm camping with my friends and got lost what are doing here."
"Oh you know treasure hunting fighting badies, the usual Tuesday morning, you know how it is." The mare the gave chrysalis a slight punch with her hoof. It was with that touch Chrysalis was able to soak up enough love to survive.
"Well that's great i best be on my way again it was great seeing you." Chrysalis fled faster than a bullet leaving the mare in confusion who just shook it off and left. Meanwhile Chrysalis went back to her sanctuary, and slept know that she'll be stronger the next day.
The next day Chrysalis woke up to a sight which brought a sinister smile to her mouth. Laying by her were a dozen changeling eggs.
"Well, well, wellI guess there is such a thing as hope after all."
Months have passed and Chrysalis has grown stronger. She now has a stronger army and a greater kingdom. These changelings obeyed every command their queen gave them and Chrysalis made sure of that. When the changelings were born Chrysalis brought them to a room in the hive where she performed great deals of dark magic. She would first cast a spell that forced her changelings to obey her every word, (thanks a lot Starlight Glimmer). Then she performed a dead so sinister so dark, a spell no one dares to try. And yet, she knew this spell all to well. She ripped out their hearts and made them nothing more than an empty vessel. She did not want this cruelty to be brought upon any creature, but chrysalis did not want to lose again, so desperate times call for desperate measures.
One day while Chrysalis was sitting on her thrown plotting her next move she grew curious on her changelings and their progress and called for her commander.
"Arachne come her this instant!"
"What is it my queen." The female changeling known as Arachne said.
"Please inform me on the progress of my changelings skills commander."
"The newborns are now able to shift into a creature ten times their height and weight, and the older one know every attack pattern you informed us about my queen."
"Good. Now go leave me alone." Arachne bowed and left Chrysalis to be. She had her head down as if she was deep in thought or greiving. Then a sly smile appeared and a low, evil chuckle was formed.
"Oh soon princesses, very soon I will be back and no one will stop me. I Chrysalis will finally rule and get the happily ever after I deserve, and I will seek my revenge and all who wronged me in the past, present and future. It is now time for you to be the bug that needs to be squashed." Chrysalis said while giving a loud violent evil laugh for the whole hive. She stood up and walked down the corridors to appear by the changeling sleeping chambers.
"Sleep well my children, tomorrow you will be students, next week you will be soilders marching into battle." Chrysalis said before entering a room no one but her may enter. In the room laid a small table, some viles of potions and books. On the center of the table laid a single book, Chrysalis walked over to the table and opened the book.
"Oh it has been a while since I read this." Chrysalis sighed, "Hover if I want to prefect my magic I must. Desperate times call for desperate measures." Chrysalis sat a the table and read, practice and scheme, equestria's downfall would come.

"Papers get your paper." A mare called, equestria doesn't take care of this route often, but when it was important news they sent someone to journey into the freezing frozen north. Oh no not the crystal empire oh no some where far way just north of Luna Bay a village stood which took several months to get the paper. The ponies there all wore warm clothes and struggled to survive but they thrived.
A pony walked up to the mail mare. She couldn't be seen through all the snow but she still gave the mare bits and that's all she cared about. The mare took the paper and went back to the village and read the paper when she read the front cover a big, bright smile appeared on her face.
"Well I'll be I've finally found you." The mare gave a happy laughed with tears of joy springing up, "It is time."
"Spike! SPIKE!!!" Twilight called for her number one assistant as she was franticly running around the castle. She looked as if she was trying to pack, or going on another organizing spree. Spike ran in carrying three rolls of parchment.
"Spike did you grab the quills I asked for." Twilight asked still running around, not even paying attention to the dragon.
"Quills? You asked for extra parchment." Spike asked confused.
"Spike I already have sixteen rolls, I need quills. However I could always use extra." Twilight said levitating the parchment over to her bag which already looked like she put her whole castle in there.
"Don't you think you overreacting just a little. you're running yourself crazy, just relax Twi you have nothing to worry about."
"Nothing to worry about!" Twilight said teleporting herself to Spike looking like she was about to explode. "NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! What is there not to worry about. Princess Celestia asks ME to join Princess Luna to a royal summit in Griffionstone, this could decide the future relationship of the two species! One mess up and we could go to war! So tell me Spike do you think i should relax!"
Spike gathered all the armor and pillows he could get to protect himself from the angry alicorn, before answering, "Uh yes." Spike said nervously. Twilight then looked like she was about to blow up Spike and the castle. That was until a loud knock came calming her down and confusing her, as she never invited anyone today and her friends never knock.
"Spike could you please get that, I don't recall inviting anyone." Spike went to get the door. Only when he open the door of hoof slated the door up against the wall crushing Spike. Then out of no where an elderly pegasus with white coat with a light blue and purple mane and tail, with jewelry you could only find at the Crystal empire. She came running in panting and acting crazy she was saying something, but she was talking to fast Twilight couldn't understand her.
"Whoa there Miss can you please calm down for a second I can't understand you." Twilight said calming the pegasus, "Just take a deep breath."
The pegasus took a deep breath in and out, "Sorry for my intrusion Princess, let me introduce myself, I'm Diamond Lily, and I've come seeking your help."
"Help? Help with what? Where are you from Mrs.Lily?"
"I am from a small village in the Frozen North just north of Luna Bay."
"So, your village is in danger, or running out of food? I'm still confused."
"Oh no don't worry our village may be small and cold, but we thrive and if we had that kind of problem I would have asked Princess Celestia. I came to you because I have a friendship problem."
"A friendship problem, what do you mean? How can one small village have a friendship problem that's so important that you needed to come to me." Twilight said a bit confused and agitated. She was in the middle of doing something important only to be interuppted by an old mare with something she probably could of solved herself. However Twilight let it slid as she was an Equestrian citizen and it was her responsibility as Princess of Friendship to hear her out.
"Look your highness I know your very busy but this can not wait, please hear me out, if you help me it will change Equestria for the better. However I understand if you can't and I will leave and try to do this on my own if may need, but though I may be old and proud I do know when to ask for help."
Twilight stared in shock at the mare, no pony ever said things to her that genuien and hurtful at the same time. "Why don't we have some tea Diamond Lily you can then explain to me your problem. Spike can you please..."
"I'm on it Twilight don't worry." Spike said as he rushed off to prepare the tea. Twilight excorted Diamond Lily to the map room where Twilight ushered her to sit down. The two shared an akward silence before Spike came with the tea and gave them each a cup before sitting next to Twilight.
"Thank you, it's delicious." Diamond Lily said taking a sip. Living in the Frozen North Diamond Lily has never had tea in a long time. The only warm drinks they had were hot chocolate and coffee on rare occasions.
"So Miss Lily why have you come all the way to ponyville to talk to me."
"Well, princess, it's kind of complicated. You see a long time ago I had a friend when I lived in the Crystal Empire. She , and I were best friends, we did everything together, along with our other friends, she and i were verey happy." Diamond Lily said before looking down at her cup, and taking in a deep breath.
"So what happened? Did you and this friend have this fight, or have you grown distant?"
"You can say that. A long time ago darkness came over us spreading fear. My friend fled the Crystal Empire to protect us from fate, ever since then I searched endlessly for her, after awhile, my friends persuadded my to give up my search as it was causeing harm to me both physically and emotionally. Together along with about three dozen more ponies who escaped are terrible fate formed are village a thrived to live, but not a day goes by where I don't miss her. I've given up all hope, that was untile news spread about your interaction with her, so here we are. Will you help me?"
"Of course I will, this should be quick if I know her. What is her name?" Twilight asked
"It's uh.... yfkvgjghkyjk." Diamond Lily mutter. Twilight stared in confusion as she didnt understand her.
"I'm sorry come again."
"I said it's qhvggvdchs." She said a bit louder but Twilight still couldn't understand her.
"You're going to have to speak up."
"IT"S QUEEN CHRYSALIS OKAY!" Diamond lily shouted. As soon as those words left her mouth Twilight spitted out her tea while Spike choked on his snack both stared at the mare in shock.
"QUEEN CHRYSALIS!" Twilight shouted, "But how? Why? Huh? You want to find one of Equestria's most feared villians? Is this to help her take over a you secretly an evil changeling?"
"Before you get mad or chock yourself or even throw me in th dungen for false accusations your highness allow me to explain." Diamond Lily said putting a hoof up, "I knew Chrysalis long before your first encounter with her, she was the nicest, kindest, most carefree pony I met. However she was also very naive and that was what caused her to be crused into a changeling. I still remember the day we met, I was still living in the crystal empire, I was the royal gardener, I made sure all the rare crysatl flowers were taken care of so i can sell them for a profit. One day while working I aciddently fell into Chrysalis knocking us both over. You can imagine my shock when I bumped into her highness, I thought I would be fired for sure, But instead she extended her hoof for me and showed me the Crystal Empire as she sees it. We've been friends ever since, however one day she was cursed and had to flee to protect the kingdom from herself, and i never saw her again. Until now I want to find her because I still belive there's some good in her that will break the curse and give me my friend back."
"Well thank you for your insight Diamond Lily but I still don't get... wait you called her "her highness" why did you address her as royalty if you aren't a changeling?" Twilight asked.
"Wait, you really don't know? Wow, how mess up is Equestrian history these days. You see Princess Twilight, Chrysalis wasn't always a love sucking changeling. She had a life before then, and in the life she was down as Queen Chrysalis..." Diamond Lily took a deep breath, "Queen of the Crystal Empire."
Twilight did another spit take in shock. Queen of the crystal empire how could this be. Twilight has studied everything on Equstria's history. How is this possible? Then again, Princess Celestia never mentioned life before King Sombre's take over. "How do you know this and more importantly how do I know your telling the truth?"
"I understand your concern princess but you must believe me and known that I will explain everything later, but first you must promise me that you will help bring back Chrysalis. Your the only pony I can turn to."
Twilight took a deep breath. There were pros and cons to the situation, but bringing back a lost queen and learning more about Equestrian history is a once in a lifetime opportunity, "I promise that I will help you, but first, Spike I need you to take a letter."
"Wouldn't it be easier to just run out and get the girls Twilight." Spike said assuming she meant their friends.
"It would but I don't mean just the girls. Spike send a letter to the princesses, especially Cadence. Tell them that it's an emergency and I need to speak with them right away at Friendship Castle, yours truly, Princess Twilight Sparkle. Spike sends the letter in a puff of green flames. Diamond Lily stared at him in shock and confusion it wasnt like she"s ever seen a dragon, but the powers they had, or at least this one did, astounded her. it didnt take long for a group of five mares came rushing in. Diamond Lily gave a small jump out her chair at schock, didnt Spike only send the letter like three minutes ago?
"Twilight what is going on I was at wonderbolts pracice when all of a sudden, BAM! A letter appered right in front of me. Oh I have some major explaining to do with Spitfire." The rainbow pegasus said, in a stae of panick. the others stared talking over her on what they had to leave to rush over here, but it was so loud Diamond Lily couldn't make out any of it. It wasn't until Twilight shouted when everyone shut up.
"Now everyone I wouldn't ask for you if it wasn't an emergency, but I won't explain anything till the princesses come. However Starlight couldn't come she is spending the day with Trixie but she'll join us soon."
"Wait the princesses are coming." A yellow pegasus said quitely and bashfuly.
"Oh does this mean a party." A pink earth pony said as she came out of nowhere jumping, giving Diamond Lily a heart attack.
"Pinkie if this was an emergency, do you think I would call it an emergency in the letter." Twilight said annoyed, "Anyway sit down tea and scones are free for taking."
"Uh sugarcube don't you think you should introduce us to your friend first." The orange earth pony said pointing her hoof at Diamond Lily."
"Oh right, everypony this is Diamond Lily she holds very crucial information that will change Equestria, but i will explain the rest when the princesses come."
"Hello everypony its so nice to meet the saviors of Equestria, but you can all call me Lily all my friends do."
"Okay introductions has been made now we wait for the princesses then I'll explain why this is urgent." Twilight said anxious for their arrival. The eight waited for what seems like hours. Diamond Lily didn't know what was worse, the deafening silence, being in a room with strangers, or the fact that every minute wasted waiting the further she was from her reach. Even the though it seemed like forever the princesses arrived about half and hour later, with a mixture of confusion, panic, and worry.
"Twilight what is the meaning of this. I understand a casual letter, but you called for an instant emergency knowing full well we had stuff to do so explanation now." Princess Celestia said annoyed but calm and preserved.
"I'm so sorry for the interruption in your schedules but this is really important have a seat." The princesses and extended family by the looks of it. Diamond Lily couldn't take her eyes off the white unicorn stallion with a blue mane, while he was very handsome, she was really looking at the little baby on his back. With a white coat and blue and purple mane, not to mention her large smile. But what really shocked her was the fact she was an alicorn, Diamond Lily knew a baby alicorn was rare but she though she would never see one.
"Lily? Mrs.Lily, Diamond Lily!" Twilight shouted breaking her from her trance and gaze of the adorable baby, and back to reality and the ponies staring at her, "Huh, What?! Oh sorry lost in thought." Diamond Lily said lowering her head in embarrassment. She jumped at the feeling of someone putting a hoof on her shoulder, she turned around to see a pink alicorn, with a gentle smile and kind eyes. She seemed familiar to the pegasus but she couldn't place where she seen her.
"It's okay sweetie, just breath. Twilight told us you've been through a lot to get her and bring us valuable information." The mare said.
"I've already told them you're name and where you're from when you were "lost in though" but you can tell the rest this is your story after all." Twilight said gesturing a hoof over towards her giving her the floor.
"Thank you princess. You all know of me but you don't know my past, nor do you know HER story. Let me tell you a tale, a long time ago there was a kingdom it was far from civilization, but it was a beautiful kingdom which was a spectrum of hope and happiness and it shined brighter then the sun. A beautiful, kind and benevolent queen ruled, but as darkness loomed over a curse was placed on my queen and she force me and my friends to leave in order to protect us. I haven't seen her since. For moons I've searched for her or some kind a way to break her curse and end her suffering, but my friends and family made me stop as it was unhealthy for me, and I losing eat and sleep. But a few weeks ago I found a way to finally get her back, and so I came her humbly asking for your help, for she is not only my queen, but my best friend."
"That is some story, but that does not explain why you have all of us her to look for some missing queen of a kingdom we've never heard about." Princess Luna said, losing her patience.
"All in good time your highness, but I won't go into detail that's her story. And you have heard about this kindom for it is right in front of you Princess Luna." Everyone looked at princess Luna while she looked down. In front of her was an image of a large crystral castle in the north.
"The crystal Empire, but how the only rulers we've known about is Sombra and currently Cadence." Princess Celestia said.
"I'm honestly not suprised by this", exclaimed the lavendar alicorn, "When we first arrived at the Crystal Empire finding anything on it's history was almost impossible, and Sombra did tear out that page in the history book, do you think he may have destroyed other history books, about this topic."
"It does make since." Princess Cadence said.
"Okay is no one going to adress a very important point here? How old are you Diamond, how can you know so much about the Crystal empire's past, all the crystal ponies memories were erased when it came back." Rainbow Dash said.
"Huh I never really thought about that. Care to explain Mrs.Lily." Twilight said glaring at her. It seems to be very hard to gain this ponies trust.
"Yes I will", Diamond Lily said trying not to raise her voice. She needed these ponies to help her, and for that she needed to trust them and they needed to trust her, "When my friend was crused for the first months to years she was still filled with hope that she would easily break this curse, and save her kingdom, and while she fanazied and daydreamed a lot she was still a realist and knew it might take awhile, and she didn't want her friends, her only family to die while she was gone so before she told us to leave she put a spell on us that prevented us from dying, so in other words I'm over a thousand years old."
"Wow, Equestia's history is really messed up. You got this missing queen a broken past, and an immortal pegasus. Is it just me or does this seem normal for us." Pinkie Pie said energectically.
"Twilight I get this is a big thing, but I'm still confused why you called all of us. I understand if you need some help and called the girls and I, but why did you get the princesses involved." Rarity questioned only to recieved awakrd reactions from Twilight and Diamond Lily.
"Well... you see Rarity..."
"It's okay Twilight I have no shame in saying her name. The lost queen, my nicest pony I know, and my best friend is Queen Chrysalis."
"WHAT?!" Shining Armor shouted and charged at Diamond Lily, "Twilight how can you let an accosiate of Queen Chrysaslis, who knows she might be an evil changling herself, no one knows who she is an she has some silly story, the fact that she claims she's immortal should set off an alarm!"
"Excuse me sir but I am no changeling so don't you go accusing me. She was my best friend, my family, you must be sick if you think otherwise. The cruse got to her to after a thousand moons and it effected who she is. I believe there's a chance to bring her back. Please give me a chance to show you the Chrysalis I once knew."
"Shinning", Cadence said as she walked up putting a hoof around her husband, "You weren't sure about Throax but look at what happened then why shouldn't we this gives us a chance to learn and fix our history."
"But Chrysalis had her chance at redemption, but she refused it, why should we help her after all she put us through. And do really expect me to believe a silly story like that."
"Actually Shinning Armor I'm with Mrs.Lily on this. When Luna and I were young fillies our mom told us the legend about a young queen of a kingdom of crystal. It could be she was reffering to Chrysalis. So I will help Diamond in her quest." Celestia said putting a hoof on Diamond's shoulder.
"Well if my sister is in I'm in too." Luna said joining the two ponies.
"And you know i was in from the start, and the girls already agreed to helping. We just need the princesses." Twilight said soon Diamond Lily had a large group of ponies joing her in her stance, she tried not to cry. "So what's it going to be Shinny."
Shinning Armor looked at the large group before taking a big breath, "Fine I guess I have no choice, I will here what she has to say but in the end I will decide her punishment for her previous crimes." The group cheered at his approval while Lily bursted into tears. She was getting her friend back.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, I can never do this without you thank you so much I'm so happy."
"Yeah we know Rainbow Dash said rolling her eyes.
"Rainbow!" Applejack said kicking her for her rudeness.
"HEY! What was that for?!"
"Umm not to spoil the fun", Spike said, but does anyone know where she is hiding to begin with." The ponies were instantly quite as they stared at each other lost for answers. All of a suden a vibrating sound echoed throughout the room the mane 6 looked a their cutie marks to see them glowing and replicas appearing on the table going over to a certain spot. In the Badlands to be precise.
"Umm maybe we can check there." Fluttershy said.
"Okay, exactly how long much has changed since I've been gone from civilization." Diamond Lily said in shock.
