> Pinkie Pie's Chaotic Saturday > by CapNTilfy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Night Before > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie opened the door to her room abruptly. "Oh, Gummy." She said to her stuffed alligator companion. "You won't believe the day I had! You know what, nevermind! I'd rather not talk about it." She flopped onto her bed and sighed. "Well, at least today's over." She got up off her bed and changed into her pajamas. She then hopped into bed and stared up at the ceiling. Taped to the ceiling was the Best Friends picture from their school yearbook. She had put it there so that she and her friends would be the last thing she'd see before falling asleep, and the first thing she'd see when she woke up. She smiled fondly at the picture. It's never a dull moment when we're all together. Me, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Sunset, Fluttershy, and Rarity! I don't know where I'd be without them, and I don't want to! I remember the first time I saw Sunset Shimmer. She was a HUGE meanie. The biggest bully I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty terrible people! Good thing me and the girls hit her with that rainbow laser, otherwise she'd still be the biggest meanie at school. Since then, Sunset's been doing her best to change. And boy, has she changed! Now she's kinder, a LOT more fun, a great friend, and she plays a mean guitar! Ah, Applejack. Never afraid to tell you the truth. She's a super-DUPER hard worker! She's crazy strong and she's always there when you need her. She never holds back in anything she does. Gotta love her countryisms, too! Rarity. Now there's someone who knows how to look good in any situation! She makes all kinds of fun costumes and clothes. She's one of the most giving people I know! I asked her once to make me a birthday suit, but she just gave me this weird look. Good old Flutters. She was so afraid of me when we first met that every time I saw her I had to check a mirror to see if something was on my face or in my teeth! When we finally got to talking, we had lots of fun! You'll never find a nicer person in all the world. Then there's Rainbow Dash, or as I like to call her, Dashie. Who knew that nickname would be used by all of us? She sticks by your side like that glue I made in science class. She's very competitive, especially with AJ. She may not be in the picture, but I'll never forget Princess Twilight. She's a blast! Very friendly. Must be why she's the Princess of Friendship back in her home of Equestria. She reunited me, Flutters, Dashie, Rarity, and AJ! I'll never forget that. This world's Twilight Sparkle is a super-genius! It's like she invents something new at least once a week! I think that selfie-sensing drone she made is still a little afraid of me since I showed it my game face at the beach. With friends like these, every day is new and exciting! I can't wait for tomorrow! Pinkie looked at her alarm clock. "What?! It's only 9:30 PM?! Why am I in my PJ's? Wait, I know what to do!" She hurried downstairs to the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator, she took out a dozen canisters of whipped cream. She then hurried back upstairs. Looking down both sides of the hallway, she noticed nobody was around. She opened the door to the bathroom, then closed and locked it. She turned the light on and took all of her clothes off, shaking all of the canisters. Grinning with anticipation, she took a canister in each hand and sprayed all the whipped cream out of them. She repeated the process with the other 10 canisters. Completely covered in whipped cream, she sighed contentedly. "Much better." Taking care not to slip on the bathroom floor, she turned the shower on. Singing to herself, she washed off all the whipped cream. "Ahhhh. Nothing like a whipped cream shower at the end of a crazy day. So refreshing." Finished, she washed the remainder of the whipped cream down the drain. She dried off and put her pajamas back on. Glad I have the day off tomorrow. I could really use the free time, she thought to herself. I wonder what the girls are up to? Let's see...Sunset should be getting off work, and I know Flutters is driving her home. Rarity and AJ have work tomorrow, so they're likely asleep or getting ready to go to bed by now. Twilight doesn't work until late into the afternoon, but she rarely stays up late. So she's probably getting into bed by now too. Dashie has the day off tomorrow, maybe I can talk her into a round or two online. She smiled. Hey Dashie, you up for a round or two? -Sent by Pinkie Pie A few minutes passed, then Pinkie's phone buzzed. You're on, Pink! Hit me with your best shot! - Sent by Rainbow Dash Pinkie grinned widely. She turned on her game console and started playing. ---------------------------------------------- A while later, Pinkie yawned. Picking up her phone, she sent Rainbow a text. I'm starting to get tired, I'm going to bed. - Sent by Pinkie Pie Tired? You? I think Hell just froze over. - Sent by Rainbow Dash Pinkie giggled. I'm only human, Dashie. Even I can't be energetic all the time. - Sent by Pinkie Pie Pinkie Pie added a goofy-faced emoji for a desired effect. Sometimes I wonder. - Sent by Rainbow Dash Pinkie laughed. LOL. Night, Rainbow Dash. - Sent by Pinkie Pie Night, Pinkie. - Sent by Rainbow Dash Pinkie turned off her game console and her television. Climbing into bed, she hugged Gummy and looked up at the Best Friends photo she taped on the ceiling. "Good night, you guys!" she said, and fell asleep. ---------------------------------------------- The sun's light slowly made its way into Pinkie's room. She stirred a little, then gradually opened her eyes, waking up. "Oooh, looks like today's going to be a beautiful day!" She looked out the window, taking in the sunlight. She stretched and yawned. "Knowing Fluttershy, she must be awake by now. I wonder if she's available to hang out with before she goes to the animal shelter." She picked up her phone and dialed Fluttershy's number. "Hello?" answered a soft-spoken voice. > Sunsick Shimmer > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hiya, Fluttershy!" Pinkie said. "Oh. Hello, Pinkie." Fluttershy said. "What's up?" "I was just wondering how your night went and if you have any plans before you volunteer at the animal shelter." Said Pinkie. "My night was uneventful. All I did was pick up Sunset from work, and it sounded like she had a very busy day." "Oh, I know you picked SunShim up. I just wanted to hear about it from you." Pinkie grinned. "Maybe I should check in with her before I go over daytime plans with you." "Oh, that would be nice of you. I won't take another minute of your time." Fluttershy said. "Okie-dokie-lokie!" Said Pinkie. She hung up on Fluttershy. Dialing Sunset's number, she put the phone to her ear. "Princessipal Celestia, izzat yooo?" said a dazed voice. Pinkie laughed out loud for a moment, then said "Princessipal Celestia! That's a good one, SunShim!" ---------------------------------------------- Once Pinkie finished her conversation with Sunset, she sent a text to Fluttershy. Change of plans, Fluttershy. I'll explain in a text to everyone. - Sent by Pinkie Pie Okay. - Sent by Fluttershy Cracking her knuckles, Pinkie grabbed a notebook and sent out a text to all her closest friends. All of them, aside from Sunset, who had apparently been 'puking her guts out' throughout the late night and was taking time to rest. All right, girls. Listen up! Sunset Shimmer is super-ultra-mega sick! She told me she needs our company to help her feel better! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Goodness! I know she had a busy day at work, but I didn't think she'd be that worn down. - Sent by Fluttershy Well, at least this is worth being woken up from a nap. - Sent by Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash! Honestly! Sunset is sick and she needs our help! - Sent by Rarity Sorry. I get moody when I'm woken up all of a sudden. - Sent by Rainbow Dash Oof. Sounds like she has it pretty rough. - Sent by Applejack Is she drinking CrocoJuice? That's a good drink for people with sick stomachs. - Sent by Twilight Sparkle We need to think of how we can all visit her during the day. What do all of your schedules look like? - sent by Pinkie Pie ---------------------------------------------- About an hour of texting later, Pinkie had filled her notebook with all the details she needed. Rarity: Working at the boutique, a little bit of free time, babysitting Lily Pad. Me: Babysitting Lily Pad, free time. Applejack: Shift at Aunt Orange's Smoothie Stand, needs to grab toolbox for Sunset's guard rail. Fluttershy: Free time, volunteering at animal shelter, free time. Rainbow Dash: Day off, open all day. Twilight: Free time, work, date with Timber Spruce. Pinkie went over her notes again, thought for a moment, then gave a nod of satisfaction. Perfect! She texted her friends again. Okay girls, how about this order? - Sent by Pinkie Pie ---------------------------------------------- Having set her plan for her and her friends to keep Sunset company into motion, Pinkie took a moment to relax. So this is how it's going to be, huh? Another hectic day. I've got the energy for it! Do your wors- Pinkie cut herself off, having learned not to tempt fate, even in thought. Her thoughts were interrupted by the appearance of her second-oldest sister. "Maud! How's it going?" Pinkie cheerfully asked. Maud was expressionless as usual, but every now and then she'd smile. "It's going great, Pinkie. I want to thank you again for your help with my rock lectures at the museum." she deadpanned. Pinkie giggled. "Oh, Maud! That was ages ago!" "I know, I just wanted to express my gratitude yet again. More and more people are coming over to listen to my talks." said Maud. "Well, I'm glad I could be of help! Is there anything you want to talk about?" said Pinkie. "Not really." said Maud. "Have you seen Mom, Dad, Marble or Limestone?" Pinkie thought for a moment. "No. I guess they haven't been introduced to Equestria Girls canon yet." Maud simply blinked. Pinkie rolled her eyes and smiled. "Never mind. I was just being silly." Maud smiled a little. "Never change, Pinkie Pie." Having said that, Maud went about her own business. With the conversation over, Pinkie Pie went back up to her room. She turned on her TV and game console and started playing, letting her thoughts drift. I don't think Lily Pad's going to be here for another hour or so... It's too nice to stay indoors. Maybe I can talk Lily into reading outside. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, people are walking their dogs. Pinkie sighed. I love summer. Pinkie let out a frustrated groan. "BORED!" Why is the title of this story "Pinkie Pie's Chaotic Saturday"? Nothing's happening right now! Well, that's not true. I'm playing a video game. That's a thing that's happening. The doorbell rang. "About time!" Pinkie said as she ran down the hallway and the stairs. She opened the door to a pizza delivery man. "Hiya!" she greeted the delivery man, paid him, took the pizzas and closed the door. She then put the pizzas in the oven. "Gotta keep these warm for Lily and me!" Pinkie ran back upstairs and resumed playing her game. After a few minutes, the doorbell rang again. "Finally!" she ran down the stairs again and opened the door. "SuperEats!"said a delivery man. "Sweet! The desserts are here!" She paid the delivery man, took the desserts and closed the door. "To the freezer you go!" Pinkie said, and put them in the freezer. Before Pinkie could run back upstairs, the doorbell rang again. She opened the door. "Traveling clownfish salesman!" Pinkie shrieked and slammed the door, screaming as she ran upstairs. She ran into her room, entered the fetal position and hugged Gummy tightly. "C-c-c-c-curse you, r-r-r-r-r-r-ule of three!" she stammered. The doorbell rang again, but Pinkie stayed in her room. A minute later, Maud walked in. "Pinkie, Lily's here." "A-a-a-a-a-a-re the c-c-c-c-c-clownfish g-g-g-g-g-gone?" she said. "Yes, Pinkie. The clownfish are gone, and Lily Pad's waiting for you downstairs." Pinkie perked up. "Phew! Thanks Maud, you're the best!" she said and ran straight downstairs to greet Lily. > Lily Pad at Pinkie's Pad > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie greeted Lily. "Heya, Lily! How's it going?" "Hi, Pinkie." Said Lily. "It's going fine. Nothing's new with me. How about you?" "Eh, not much. Had one heck of a day yesterday, let me tell you." ---------------------------------------------- Once Pinkie finished her story, Lily Pad stared at her, mouth agape. "Wow...I'll never look at toothpaste the same way after that story..." "Sorry, Lily. I just needed to vent. I hope I didn't traumatize you." said Pinkie. "That's okay, I understand." "But enough about that. What do you want to do today? We could go outside and you could read!" Pinkie gasped as an idea came to her. "We could have a picnic in the backyard! It's the perfect weather for it!" Lily Pad smiled. "Sure, why not? Hasn't been a sunny day around here in a while." "Great! Let's get this picnic started!" Pinkie ran outside and pulled a beach blanket out of her hair. Lily Pad blinked, about to say something, but she quickly remembered not to question Pinkie Pie. The last time I tried to reason out how she works, I was up all night! Pinkie brought out paper plates, plastic cups, soda and the pizzas from the oven. When everything was set up, Pinkie said "Lunch time!" Suddenly, her phone buzzed. I'm afraid she's feeling worse, dears. She had a dizzy spell and is burning up, but she's getting the rest she needs. - Sent by Rarity Pinkie frowned and sent a text of her own. Major bummer! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Lily noticed the concerned look on Pinkie's face. "Is something wrong, Pinkie?" she asked. Pinkie sighed. "A good friend of mine isn't feeling so great, so Rarity, me, Twilight and all our other friends are taking turns visiting her so she won't be lonely." Lily scratched her chin. "I think I remember Twilight from that one time we played on the beach. She's your friend with the really thick glasses and the ponytail? Had all those books and was drawing an equation in the sand?" Pinkie smiled. "Yup! That's Twilight! Maybe someday you'll meet Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack and Sunset Shimmer! There's never a dull moment when all seven of us are together! Now let's eat! Don't want the pizza to get cold!" As they ate, both Pinkie and Lily listened to background ambiance. The occasional car passing by playing music with the windows down, dogs barking, cicadas sounding off. Once they were finished, Pinkie put the leftovers in the fridge. On her way back out, she grabbed a garbage bag and brought it outside with her. Once she finished cleaning everything up, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Whew!" She said. "I have desserts in the freezer if you want any, Lily!" "Sounds good!" said Lily. "Hey, you wanna watch 'Stormy With a Side of Pudding'?" "Nah, I've seen it a couple times already." said Lily. "Eh, just thought I'd ask." said Pinkie. "So have you seen any good movies lately besides 'Stormy With a Side of Pudding?'" "No, not really. I usually read books on my SmartSlate." "Hey, did they ever make a sequel to that book you read me the first time I babysat you?" said Pinkie. "No, but the author did make another book. I can read it to you if you want." said Lily. Pinkie checked her phone for the time of day. "Hmm...I think we have time. Just make sure I don't fall asleep this time." she laughed sheepishly. Lily smiled. She began reading. "'Once upon a time...'" ---------------------------------------------- "'And they all lived happily ever after. The end.'" said Lily as she finished reading the story aloud. She turned to look at Pinkie, who was fast asleep and snoring next to her. Lily smiled, then gently nudged Pinkie awake. "Aww, c'mon, mom...five more minutes." said Pinkie, half-asleep. "Pinkie. You fell asleep during the story. Again." said Lily. Pinkie suddenly sat upright. "Aww, I thought I said to make sure I wouldn't fall asleep this time!" Lily laughed. "You just looked so peaceful, and I was enjoying the book." Pinkie smiled. "Well, I needed that nap anyway. What time is it?" Pinkie looked at her phone and saw a text. Just finished up at Sunset's, will be there to pick up Lily shortly. - Sent by Rarity Okie-dokie-lokie! - Sent by Pinkie Pie "Good thing I woke up before Rarity got here. Remember the look on her face when she walked in and saw me asleep the first time I babysat you? I sure don't!" Pinkie laughed. There was a knock at the door. "GAH!" Pinkie yelped. She ran and hid under the couch."L-l-l-l-l-lily, c-c-c-c-c-can y-y-y-y-y-ou check if it's th-th-the c-c-c-c-clownfish s-s-s-salesm-m-m-man??" she stuttered. Confused, Lily went to the window to see who was at the door. "It's Rarity, Pinkie." Pinkie bolted out from under the couch and laughed nervously. "Sorry about that. Clownfish scare the pudding out of me." she blushed. "Hiya, Rarity!" she said, before she realized what Rarity was wearing. Within an instant, Pinkie was on the floor, doubled over with laughter. "Rarity..." she managed to say while still laughing, her face bright red. "What...ahahahaha....are you...heeheeheehee..." "Are you wearing a hazmat suit, Rarity?" asked Lily. "Oh, goodness!" She said. "I'm still wearing it?! Where is my brain??" She slowly took off the suit. Underneath the custom-made hazmat suit she wore were her everyday clothes. "Ah. Much better." Pinkie slowly got off the floor. "Oh, man...I haven't laughed like that in ages..." she said, catching her breath. "And coming from me, that says a lot!" Rarity stood still for a moment, with a look on her face that Pinkie thought was familiar. "Rarity? You there?" She got no response. Wait...I know that expression! "Rarity, why do you look the same way Twilight does whenever Timber Spruce is-" Pinkie gasped, putting two and two together. "Rarity! Do you have a cru-" Before she could continue, Rarity snapped out of it. "Crush? What crush?! Who said anything about a crush?!" Rarity blushed. "Oh my god, you do!" Shouted Pinkie. "Who is it? Do I know him/her?" Rarity sighed. "Okay. I'll tell you. But you have to Pinkie Promise not to tell a single soul. Not even Gummy. I'm not ready for the rest of the girls to know." Pinkie smiled. "Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." she recited. Rarity leaned towards Pinkie. "My crush is-" she whispered the name in Pinkie's ear. Pinkie's eyes widened. "WHAT?! Her?" She grinned. "How? When? Where? Why?" "I don't have time to go into the details, I need to get Lily back to my place. Just remember that you Pinkie Promised not to tell anyone or anything." Rarity said, still blushing. "Understood." Said Pinkie. She grabbed her copy of "Stormy With a Side of Pudding". "Have fun, you two! I'm off to see the Shimmer! The wonderful Shimmer of Sun!" She sent a text to Sunset. Incoming! - Sent by Pinkie Pie A few minutes later, Pinkie burst through Sunset's front door. "It's PARTY time! P-A-R-T. Y? Because I gotta!" > Things Get Busy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exiting her friend's house, Pinkie Pie skipped her way back to her home. One of these days I'm gonna get the girls to watch "Stormy With a Side of Pudding..." She sighed. Still deep in thought, she bumped into someone. "Gah!" Blinking, Pinkie blushed with embarrassment. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" She said. Upon seeing who she bumped into, her face brightened up. "Heey! You must be new! I don't think I've seen you around here before!" Standing next to Pinkie was a man who looked to be in his mid-twenties. His skin color was a pale yellow, similar to Fluttershy's. His eyes a pale, icy blue. He wore a black t-shirt with a flaming yellow crossbow emblazoned in the center. In terms of height, he seemed to be a couple of inches taller than Pinkie. His hair was silver-colored, most of it hiding under the black baseball cap he wore. His shorts, too, were black and the flip-flops he was wearing was brown. "You haven't." said the young man. "My name's Golden Crossbow. Just moved in a couple days ago, to be near family." Pinkie extended her hand to offer a handshake. "Hiya!" she cheerfully said. "I'm Pinkie Pie! You can just call me Pinkie." Golden Crossbow shook her hand. "You can call me Goldie. Most of my family does." Pinkie laughed. "What a coinky-dink! I actually have a cousin named Goldie. How about I just call you Golden to avoid confusion?" Golden smiled. "Works for me!" he said as they finished shaking hands. "I can give you a grand tour if you want. Just the suburban area, though. I've gotten lost in Canterlot City tons of times, and I've lived here for years!" Pinkie's phone buzzed. "Oh! Hold on a sec." "I don't mind." said Golden Crossbow. Hey guys! - Sent by Sunset Shimmer Pinkie squeed. Sunset might be down now, but she won't give up without a fight!, thought Pinkie. Fight the good fight, SunShim! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Smiling to her new friend, she said "So. Where do I start the tour?" Her phone buzzed again. Thanks for the support, Pinkie! - Sent by Sunset Shimmer Now grinning widely, Pinkie snapped her finger. "Oh! I know!" she said. "Let's start at..." ---------------------------------------------- Once Pinkie finished her surprisingly quick suburban tour, her phone buzzed. Just finished installing the guard rails on Sunset's stairs. She's sleeping now. - Sent by Applejack Pinkie grinned and sent a text. I can't wait until she gets better! I'll hold a "Yay, You're All Better Now!" party! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Suddenly, realization dawned on her. "Oh, confection used as a euphemism for expletives!" she facepalmed. "I have that party I planned for an inconsequential character!" Running as fast as she could, she ran back home and stuffed all the necessary supplies in her hair. Exiting her house, she heard the sound of a dog barking getting closer. "Ack!" Pinkie yelped. "A chase scene? Look, I get the author's trying to reach his self-imposed quota of one thousand words per chapter, but is a chase scene really necessary?" Pinkie said, rolling her eyes. Suddenly realizing a squirrel was nearby, the dog that was chasing Pinkie ran off to catch its new quarry. "Thank you!" said Pinkie. "Now, off to the party!" Once she reached her destination, she took everything relevant to the party out of her hair, much to the shock and awe of all the attendees. Pinkie looked at all the people staring at her. "What? This party isn't gonna start itself, people!" she said with a wink. ---------------------------------------------- In the middle of the party, Pinkie suddenly realized she almost forgot to start planning for the party she wanted to throw for Sunset when she got better. Taking a notebook out of her hair, she started brainstorming ideas while keeping an eye on the party's progress. Her phone buzzed. She sighed. "What now?" she said. Still no changes so far. She's taking a rest right now. - Sent by Fluttershy Well, at least it's not adding to the craziness. Pinkie blinked and slapped her forehead. Pinkamena Diane Pie! Never tempt fate! she scolded herself. How many times has tempting fate gotten you and your friends into sticky situations?! she sighed, and sent a text. I'm already planning for the party! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Wiping sweat off her brow, Pinkie continued planning for Sunset's party and monitoring the party she planned. It was in full swing, with music playing, outdoor games, refreshments everywhere. Ahhhh. The smiles of people. Her phone buzzed again. "What is it this time?" she thought aloud. On her phone was a reminder that she totally forgot about. She almost screamed, but after taking a deep breath and letting it out, she texted her most trusted assistant. Hey, I need to leave the party. Can I count on you to keep it going? - Sent by Pinkie Pie Hey now, I didn't become your most trusted assistant be letting you down! - Sent by Party Favor Thanks a ton! I gotta book it. - Sent by Pinkie Pie She made a mad dash to her house. I totally forgot to feed Boulder! I never forget to feed Boulder! Catching her breath again, she grabbed an energy drink from the fridge. Just in case. she thought to herself. And for good measure... she checked her phone for any events scheduled for the day. Hmmm. Just a couple, so I can manage. She downed the energy drink. Mmm, Strawberry Charge. Delicious. She crushed the can and put it in recycling. She then began stretching in preparation for the remainder of the day. "Two parties and a jump-rope contest." Pinkie cracked her knuckles and her neck. "I may not have Rainbow Dash's super speed, but I'm up to the challenge. Bring it on!" She bolted out the door at a breakneck pace. To give herself some extra adrenaline, she threw sprinkles in the air, creating miniature fireworks in her wake. "Time to kick the rest of the day in the tush!" > The Home Stretch > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "First party: Luau! Time to get lei'd!" Pinkie giggled to herself at the pun. Arriving at the house, she tossed sprinkles at the tiki torches, lighting them up. This earned her gasps and applause. "And that's how you make an entrance!" she said proudly. Putting on a grass skirt, Pinkie took a ukulele out of her hair and started playing a tune. Once she finished, she shouted "Who wants to limbo?". In the middle of her turn, her phone buzzed. I'm leaving Sunset's place early so I don't accidentally wake her up. - Sent by Fluttershy Pinkie finished her turn, then texted. I accidentally woke her up, and she seemed okay with it. - Sent by Pinkie Pie After a moment, her phone buzzed again. I think you might be missing the point, Pinkie. - Sent by Twilight Sparkle Pinkie shrugged, and resumed the luau party. ---------------------------------------------- Once the luau had ended, Pinkie sat down and took a breath. "That was a blast! I should do luaus more often." Her phone buzzed. I'm heading over to Sunset's! Fluttershy, did you leave the door unlocked? - Sent by Rainbow Dash I did, you shouldn't have any trouble getting in. - Sent by Fluttershy An idle thought crossed Pinkie's mind, and she texted. Good thing there isn't any magical wackiness going on right now, or we'd be in a pickle! - Sent by Pinkie Pie For heaven's sake, Pinkie, don't tempt fate! Sent by Rarity Pinkie rarely swore, but in this case she believed the situation warranted it. "Dammit." she muttered under her breath as her hand slapped her forehead in exasperation. Sighing, she stood up and made her way to her next destination. Next up: the jump-rope competition., she thought in anticipation. ---------------------------------------------- Arriving on site, Pinkie signed up for the jump-rope competition. Huh. I'm surprised Rainbow Dash didn't sign up for this. It's right up her alley. When registration was over, Pinkie looked at the board to see her competition. Canterlot Local Jump-Rope Competition Round 1 Octavia Melody vs. The Great and Powerful Trixie Sour Sweet vs. Muffins Torch Song vs. Sweetie Drops Roseluck vs. Sunny Sugarsocks DJ PON-3 vs. Wallflower Blush Lyra Heartstrings vs. Pinkie Pie Juniper Montage vs. Amethyst Star Suri Polomare vs. Scootaloo Oh, thank goodness! Same goes for Muffins. I haven't seen Sour Sweet that upset since all the Crystal Prep girls ganged up on Twilight! As much as I cheered for her, Sunny Sugarsocks lost... Pinkie sighed. I guess Wallflower spent the same amount of time jumping rope as she did gardening. I just barely beat Lyra, I'll need to step up my game this round! I feel bad for Scootaloo and Amethyst, they didn't last long...Oh well. Pinkie sent a text to cheer her friend up, since she was nowhere in sight. Hey, Sunny! You did your best out there, and I'm proud of you! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Thanks, Pinkie! I'll practice hard for the next competition. We should train together! - Sent by Sunny Sugarsocks Sounds good to me! - Sent by Pinkie Pie Having sent that text, Pinkie prepared herself for the second round. ---------------------------------------------- Round 1 Octavia Melody vs. The Great and Powerful Trixie Sour Sweet vs. Muffins Torch Song vs. Sweetie Drops Roseluck vs. Sunny Sugarsocks DJ PON-3 vs. Wallflower Blush Lyra Heartstrings vs. Pinkie Pie Juniper Montage vs. Amethyst Star Suri Polomare vs. Scootaloo Round 2 Torch Song vs. Wallflower Blush Octavia Melody vs. Pinkie Pie Muffins vs. Suri Polomare Juniper Montage vs. Roseluck Final Four Muffins vs. Pinkie Pie Wallflower Blush vs. Juniper Montage As she took a breather, Pinkie's phone buzzed. Uh, guys? Sunset started sweating like crazy, and she tried to take off her clothes in front of me! I had to turn down the temperature to stop her!- Sent by Rainbow Dash Gasping with her eyes wide, Pinkie sent a text. I didn't know Sunset swung that way!- Sent by Pinkie Pie Pinkie took a drink of water, then felt her phone buzz. No, Pinkie, it means her fever's breaking! She's on the road to recovery!- Sent by Twilight Sparkle Pinkie breathed a sigh of relief. "Now that I can focus, bring on the final four!" she yelled. ---------------------------------------------- Round 1 Octavia Melody vs. The Great and Powerful Trixie Sour Sweet vs. Muffins Torch Song vs. Sweetie Drops Roseluck vs. Sunny Sugarsocks DJ PON-3 vs. Wallflower Blush Lyra Heartstrings vs. Pinkie Pie Juniper Montage vs. Amethyst Star Suri Polomare vs. Scootaloo Round 2 Torch Song vs. Wallflower Blush Octavia Melody vs. Pinkie Pie Muffins vs. Suri Polomare Juniper Montage vs. Roseluck Final Four Muffins vs. Pinkie Pie Wallflower Blush vs. Juniper Montage Championship Muffins vs. Juniper Montage Pinkie sighed. "I should have known I'd lose to the fan favorite. Oh well, at least I can cheer them both on..." Pinkie checked the time. "Oh, molasses! I'm gonna be late!" ---------------------------------------------- "The final party...NIGHT RAVE!" The party that Pinkie planned was outdoor, filled with bright and flashing lights and DJ PON-3 in full form. Almost loud enough to disturb the peace, but just a decibel short to do so. "Aww, yeah!" Shouted Pinkie. "Glow sticks, dance floors, high-energy madness! I LOVE IT! WOO HOO!" Pinkie pointed to the DJ. "DJ PON-3, show we some WUB!" Pinkie said as she moshed nearly all of her remaining energy throughout the dance. For once, she left a rave without any scrapes, bruises or injuries. ---------------------------------------------- Slowly trudging through the door to her room, Pinkie said "Oh...Gummy. You will not believe the day I had today." However, instead of exasperated, her tone was dreamy. "Oh man, today's going in the memory book for sure." With her eyes half-opened, Pinkie looked on the verge of passing out despite this, she sighed and mustered the energy to change into her pajamas. "I'm just glad to be home." She hugged Gummy tightly, turned the light off and fell fast asleep. > The Following Morning > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Waking up, Pinkie yawned and stretched. Slowly getting up out of bed, she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. "All right, day." she said, "What have you got for me?" Her phone buzzed. Hey girls! Guess who's back to 100%? - Sent by Sunset Shimmer Awesome! - Sent by Rainbow Dash Yay! - Sent by Fluttershy Grinning, Pinkie sent a text of her own. This calls for a party! Wait, haven't we all said these things before? - Sent by Pinkie Pie Having texted, Pinkie ran to the bathroom to take a quick shower. When she dried off, she checked her phone. Something amazing happened! I have so much to tell you all, and something to show you! Meet me at the mall in a few hours.- Sent by Sunset Shimmer Pinkie's eyes lit up with excitement. "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! I can't wait!" She jumped up and down. "Now, what can I do to kill a few hours? Oh, I know!" She put in her copy of "Stormy with a side of Pudding" and ignored everything that happened around her until the movie ended. ---------------------------------------------- "I should really keep a box of tissues next to me whenever I play this movie." Pinkie said as she dried her tears. Finding a cloth, she blew her nose on it. "Yuck, I should get this washed!" She tossed the cloth into her hamper. "So that's a couple of hours down. What to do next...Oh yeah!" Taking out a notebook from her hair, Pinkie opened it and reviewed the notes she had written last night. "I still haven't completed planning Sunset Shimmer's 'Yay, You're All Better Party'!" ---------------------------------------------- Hmm. I still haven't finished planning Sunset's party, but I think it's about time I got going. Pinkie thought to herself as she put the notebook back in her hair. She made her way to the mall. "Hey, there!" said a familiar voice. "Hey, Golden! What's up?" "Oh, nothing. Just that I never got the chance to thank you for yesterday's tour." he said. Pinkie blushed out of embarrassment. "I'm sorry I left you hanging, my day just got all crazy busy near the end." Golden Crossbow smiled. "Eh, it happens. No harm, no foul. So what are you up to?" "I'm going to the mall. My friend who was sick yesterday got better, and she sent me and my other friends a text saying she had a bit of a 'show and tell' she'd prepare for us." said Pinkie. Golden Crossbow gave her a look of confusion. Pinkie laughed. "It's not like she's going to show us her puke, she's probably just going to tell us about a weird yet meaningful dream she had that will likely change the course of our collective lives over time." Golden simply stared at Pinkie. "It's just a hunch, Golden." Pinkie winked at him. Taking his confusion in stride, Golden simply shrugged and said "If you say so." Pinkie nodded happily. "Indeed I do! Well, it was nice talking to you, but I gotta go. See you again sometime?" Golden smiled and waved his hand as Pinkie walked towards the mall. "Sure. Later!" ---------------------------------------------- Arriving at the mall, Pinkie heard the latest Sapphire Shores hit playing in the background. She sighed. Now that the mall no longer plays it, it feels like forever and a half ago that me, my friends and the Crystal Prep girls made that super-fun music video that helped us raise money for Camp Everfree. Pinkie shook her head to get herself back on track, then made her way to the food court where their favorite table was. Pinkie was the first of the group to arrive. Sitting down at the table, she people-watched for a few minutes. Her attention was diverted when she heard an unmistakable voice from behind her. "Pinkie, darling! I'm surprised you're the first one here!" said Rarity. "Well, I haven't had anything to do all morning." Pinkie shrugged. Rarity leaned into Pinkie slowly and asked in a whisper "You haven't told anyone about...'her', have you?" Pinkie smiled. "Of course I haven't, silly! I Pinkie Promised, after all!" Rarity breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, you did. I'm sorry, I normally wouldn't be so paranoid about this...but this is my first crush on a female. I know I won't be judged for it by you and our friends, but this is just new and unusual to me." "What's new and unusual?" came a familiarly raspy voice from behind Rarity. Rarity yelped. "Rainbow Dash, don't eavesdrop! You scared the living daylights out of me!" Rainbow Dash blushed, embarrassed. "Sorry. All I heard you say was 'new and unusual', so I was curious." "The new Sapphire Shores song that replaced our "Dance Magic" music video is what's new and unusual, Dashie." said Pinkie, in an attempt to keep her friend from learning Rarity's secret. Rainbow frowned. "Yeah, it sucks. But hey, we had a good run." Seeing a familiar figure walk up behind Pinkie, she followed up with "Didn't we, Twilight?" Pinkie turned around as Twilight said "Yeah. It was pretty surreal seeing us in a video playing throughout the entire mall. Even more so when the Daring Do movie came out." "But it was a whole bushel of fun doin' both of those things." said Applejack, just slightly behind Twilight. Fluttershy was the last to arrive as she said "But I'm glad I didn't get mobbed by strangers like I was afraid I would." With everyone but Sunset there, they all sat down together until she arrived and told them everything. ---------------------------------------------- After the last bit of Sunset Shimmer had passed through the portal, the remaining six friends looked at each other. "Well, it's still pretty early in the afternoon. Where do we go from here?" asked Twilight. "Not much to do on a Sunday, really." said Rainbow Dash. "I can't wait for the weekend-long party we're gonna have!" Pinkie squealed excitedly. "It'll definitely be a weekend to remember." said Applejack. "So...anyone have any plans?" asked Fluttershy. "I have to work on the outfits for the Crystal Prep girls. I know it's still summer, but I want to be prepared for their spring dance!" said Rarity. "I'm gonna practice some awesome guitar solos!" said Rainbow. "I promised Spike I'd spend some time with him today." said Twilight. "You gals know me, I always have chores to do." said Applejack. "There's a new guy in town named Golden Crossbow. I'm going to try to get to know him better." said Pinkie. "The animals at the center seem to have some pent-up energy. I'm going to take them all outside." said Fluttershy. They all looked at each other again. "I hope Sunset doesn't stay in Equestria for too long. I worry about her when she's there." said Fluttershy. "Sunset's a toughie, Flutters! She can handle it!" said Pinkie. "I know, it's just in my nature to worry." Smiled Fluttershy. "See you all tomorrow then?" asked Twilight. "See you tomorrow!" said Rarity. As they all said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, they all remained blissfully unaware of the secrets they were all hiding from each other.
