Two heroes, one enemy, their adventure in Equestria starts now!
After having to constantly save Princess Peach from Bowser, Mario just wanted a nice vacation. Luckily the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom is good at other things than just being kidnapped or baking a cake. After the Mushroom and Equestria signed a Peace Treaty, Princess Celestia has invited Mario and his friends for a first time visit. Excited and overjoyed, Mario decides to invite his long time rival Kirby along. But of course Bowser wasn't done. While plotting his revenge against Mario, he runs into King Dedede of Dreamland who explains a certain organization that sells monsters that can easily overpower Mario and Kirby. Bowser jumping to the conclusion joins forces with Dedede and follows Mario to Equestria where they build an underground hideout so they can secretly order monsters from Nightmare Enterprises. Unfortunately when a runaway monster suddenly shows up, Equestria is once again thrown into chaos. The elements have been stolen and now only Mario and Kirby can save the day. With Twilight and her friends accompanying the them, the two must now face their biggest challenge yet.

The skies over Bowser's Castle grew darker than ever as the Koopa King paced up and down in his throne room. He had decided since his 200th defeat against the Mario Bros. that he has had enough. None of his tactics or plans had succeeded in the past so why would the last one work at all. In all the years he has kidnapped Princess Peach everything would just go downhill from there. Even during sports or racing or even at parties he would lose to Mario. Smash on the other hand seemed like the only time he could beat him. Except for that one time when Ganondorf betrayed him for a giant hand that couldn't even beat the final boss himself. He shook the thought out of his head, thinking about that jerk only made the situation worse. A sudden knock on his door is what grabbed his attention.
"Who is it and what do you want?" Bowser roared.
"Lord Bowser it is I Kamek," answered a voice.
"Ugh come in," Bowser growled. The doors opened as a figure wearing a blue robe flew in on a broom.
"What do you want Kamek?" asked Bowser.
"Uh, sorry to interrupt you my lord, but you have a visitor," answered Kamek.
"Ugh can't you see I'm busy?" growled Bowser.
"Please sir, give them a chance," Kamek pleaded. Bowser snorted obviously not amused.
"I swear if it's Ganondorf..." Bowser started.
"Still hate him?" asked a voice. Bowser turned around as a large penguin wearing a red robe and carrying a large hammer walked in. Behind him was a purple pinkish snail with a green shell.
"Dedede, I didn't expect YOU to be my visitor," said Bowser.
"Well I am, and I brought my lackey too," laughed Dedede.
"A snail?" sneered Bowser.
"My name is Escargoon sir," snorted the snail.
"Yeah, yeah whatever," said Bowser.
"Listen, I heard that you were having trouble with your nemesis again," said Dedede.
"Makes me want to pound his face in," said Bowser.
"Well I'm no different," added Dedede. "And that's why I've been thinking, we both hate our nemesis, so why not team up so we can beat them together,"
"Hmph, I don't work well with others," growled Bowser.
"Oh is that so, but it seems like you don't have a solution," said Dedede.
"Well no," said Bowser.
"Then what if I told you there is a certain organization that sells powerful monsters that exists?" asked Dedede.
"Ha in your dreams!" laughed Bowser.
"He's telling the truth sire," said Escargoon.
"What's the name of this organization?" asked Bowser.
"Nightmare Enterprises," answered Dedede.
"Sounds kinda cheesy," said Bowser.
"Even if the name sounds bad, it really does sell powerful monsters," said Kamek.
"Oh yeah and what kind of wacky apps do I have to download?" asked Bowser.
"Oh no need for an app, we've got everything covered," answered Escargoon. "We just need to know if you're willing to have a device installed in you're throne room,"
"What do you think sir?" asked Kamek.
"Powerful monsters you say," said Bowser scratching his chin. "I guess a new change of pace would be nice,"
"I'll take that as a yes," laughed Dedede.
"You heard the big man, get that thing installed!" ordered Escargoon. Just as he said that a group of small orange creatures with small stubby feet walked in carrying boxes or pushing carts.
"What's with the boxes?" asked Bowser.
"Oh you'll see soon enough," laughed Dedede. "In the meantime I'll set up your gift in front of your throne," Just then another set of knocks came from the doors.
"Come in," said Bowser. The door opened as two small brown mushroom with feet ran in.
"Sir we found it!" said one of the mushrooms.
"Did you really!?" Bowser asked.
"It appears like it wasn't just a myth," said Kamek. One of the mushrooms pulled out a small wand with white and black stripes with a small black star at one tip.
"Give it!" Bowser ordered. He reached out and snatched the wand smirking. "Yes after so long I finally have it!"
"What is it?" asked Escargoon.
"That is the Dark Star Rod," answered Kamek. "It's a very special rod that holds such dark and mysterious powers, one happens to be the ability to summon an ancient dark being of destruction,"
"Hmm sounds promising," said Dedede.
"Hey I never agreed to work with you!" Bowser growled.
"We gave you that device, we expect you to share that Dark Star Rod," said Dedede.
"Yeah what he said!" said Escargoon.
"Please sir, just this once," said Kamek. Bowser growled, not happy with the situation.
"Fine!" Bowser growled.
"Yeah that's it," said Dedede.
"We knew you'd come through us," said Escargoon.
"Very soon even Mario will learn to fear us!," laughed Bowser.
"And that pesky puffball Kirby!" added Dedede.
"Surely now you'll get him sir!" said Kamek.
"Those fools will never stand a chance against our monsters," added Escargoon. Very soon the entire castle was filled with the four's sinister laughter.
Luna gasped as she sat up. It was that dream again. For the past few nights Luna has had the same dream. She didn't understand what it meant, but she had a feeling that something bad was going to happen.
"Your majesty are you alright?" a voice asked from outside her room.
"Wha..oh uh yes I'm fine," Luna answered.
"Are you sure your majesty?" the voice asked.
"Yes I'm sure," answered Luna.
"Alright if you say so," said the voice. Luna sighed as she hopped out of bed. she walked out onto her balcony and looked up. The moon was shining brightly as usual. But for some reason, Luna felt as if that wasn't normal. She didn't understand why she kept having that same dream specifically each night, or why it was HER that was having it. Whatever the reason was she felt it had something to do with the peace treaty between the Mushroom Kingdom and Equestria.
"Maybe it's time that I told Tia," Luna said to herself. She layed down on the balcony and looked back up towards the moon. Mario and Kirby the two names that rang in her ears. Who were they? In her dreams it stated that those two would be the ones to save Equestria from an unknown threat. But what was it? Luna still had some questions. But she would have to wait. Eventually those two will show up. When that time comes, then she would start looking for answers.
"We'll be arriving shortly please stay in seats, thank you," The intercom above clicked off as the plane flew over Equestria. Even still, Kirby just couldn't keep quiet.
"Kirby settle, I know you're excited but you need to wait a little longer," a girl spoke up.
"We really appreciate your invitation princess," said a creature in a mask.
"Anytime, Sir Meta Knight," said Peach.
"Hey uh, Tiff right?" asked Mario. "How's Kirby treating you back at home?"
"Always running into trouble, especially with Dedede," answered Tiff. "But Tuff is also usually with him,"
"Hey come on sis, don't put me on the spot like that!" said Tuff.
"You two get along well eh, just like Mario and Luigi," said Yoshi
"Oh yeah, me and Mario are the best together," said Luigi. Suddenly the intercom clicked on as the pilot announced.
"Folks we have arrived, please fasten your seat belts as we prepare for landing," Mario and his friends quickly got back to their seats as the plane slowly descended down to Equestria. Kirby cried out with joy as the plane landed in front of a large castle where several ponies were standing outside waiting for them. "We have arrived thank you for flying with us and have a nice day," said the pilot. Mario and his friends quickly grabbed their belongings and headed for the exit. The plane doors slid open as stairs ran down to the ground. Kirby was the first to get off as he happily jumped off the plane. Followed by Mario and the others.
"Welcome to Equestria, we would like to thank you for coming!" beamed a purple unicorn.
"Thank you for having us," said Peach. The two groups exchanged hellos and introduced themselves, talking about how excited they were to meet one another.
"We have prepared a special feast, to celebrate your arrival, please won't you come?" asked Celestia.
"We would be delighted," said Peach.
"Then come along," said Luna. Mario and his friends followed after Celestia and the ponies into the castle where a large welcome banner was hung at the entrance. Mario and his friends looked at inside in awe as they were lead into the castle's dining room were a large table of food was prepared.
"Wow it really IS a feast!" Tuff beamed.
"Please take a seat," said Applejack. Everyone began settling down and soon the entire table was filled with food, chatter and laughter.
"You sure do eat a lot," said Rainbow Dash looking at Kirby. Kirby inhaled the last bit of his fries before letting out a happy Poyo.
"Yeah because he's a glutton," said Tuff.
"I like someone with a good appetite," said Celestia.
"He's so cute," cooed Fluttershy.
"Um sorry darling what was your name again?" Rarity asked looking towards Meta Knight.
"Meta Knight milady," answered Meta Knight.
"Oh what a gentleman," Rarity laughed.
"Eek so many new friends!!!!" Pinkie Pie squealed.
"You have a very lively group of ponies among yourselves don't you?" asked Peach.
"Yes Equestria is full of them," answered Celestia. As the group continued to laugh and chat Mario noticed that Luna had barely touched her food. He nudged Luigi and nodded his head towards Luna who looked a little down.
"Um Princess is something wrong?" Luigi asked.
"Wha..oh uh nothing, nothings wrong," said Luna.
"Is it about the dream again dear sister?" asked Celestia. Luna sighed knowing that she couldn't hide it from Celestia. Luna nodded.
"I thought so," said Celestia.
"Dream?" asked Tiff.
"Recently I've been having the same strange dream every night, I don't know what it means or why I keep having it but, I haven't found any hints or clues that might help me figure it out," said Luna.
"What's it about?" asked Yoshi.
"I don't know but, it starts off with me waking up in the darkness, then this monster shows up and well I can't explain what it is or why it approaches me," answered Luna. "Then I see seven stars made of seven different types of gems, then I see two shadows and then everything goes black,"
"I assume that's when you wake up?" asked Tiff.
"Yes, I don't know if the dream is trying to tell me something or if its trying to get me to do something, but I just don't understand," answered Luna.
"Maybe if you wait something will change," suggested Mario.
"I suppose so," said Luna.
"Come cheer up Princess," said Applejack.
"Applejack's right, our guests just got here, why show them a smile or two?" suggested Fluttershy.
"You're right, thank you," said Luna smiling. Just then, a loud explosion interrupted the feast as one of Celestia's guards ran in panicked.
"Your Majesty, we're under attack!!!!" the guard gasped.
"Who and since when?" asked Celestia.
"I don't know but...." The guard's statement was cut short when the wall with behind the ponies exploded leaving a giant gaping hole and broken windows.
"Oh my god are you guys alright?" asked Peach helping the ponies up.
"Yeah we're fine but...." Twilight groaned as she stood up. Suddenly Kirby let out a terrified Poyo grabbing everyone's attention.
"Kirby what is it?" asked Meta Knight. Mario quickly ran over to Kirby's side and looked out to a see a large battle cruiser hovering over Canterlot. Around it were several pirate ships flying around as if it was escorting the battle cruiser.
"What the hay are those!?" Rainbow asked. Peach's eyes widened as let out a terrified gasp.
"No not him, why now of all the times?" Peach whimpered.
"What's going on?" asked Tuff. Mario was the first to hear the familiar sinister laughter as an airship flew up to the hole. the airship slowly turned around so that the side was facing the hole. Two figures suddenly jumped out of the airship and landed in front of the group. One of them was a large turtle with orange hair and yellow scales. The second was a large penguin holding a large hammer.
"Guess who!" laughed the turtle.
"We finally found you," laughed the Penguin.
"Dedede how did you find us?" sneered Tuff.
"Heh wouldn't you like to know," laughed Dedede.
"Bowser, just leave us alone, can't you see we're on vacation?" asked Peach.
"The only place you'll be vacationing is my castle," laughed Bowser.
"Mario, Tiff who are these two?"
"That's Bowser to the left, he's a terrible monster that always kidnaps Peach and tries to get everything he wants not caring whether others like what he's doing or not," answered Mario.
"And that's King Dedede on the right, he's a terrible dictator who tries to hurt Kirby and orders monsters to terrorize the citizens of our world," answered Tiff.
"Whoa not cool buddy," said Rainbow Dash.
"So these two are bad guys," said Pinkie.
"And happy to be one," laughed Bowser. He pointed a claw at Mario. "You, you've ruined my plans for the final time, well guess what I'm back for revenge,"
"Try all you want Bowser, but Mario will always be there to save the day," said Yoshi.
"And Kirby too," said Tuff.
"Hmph I wouldn't get cocky if I were you," said Bowser.
'You should be ashamed the way you treat others," said Fluttershy.
"Aww who says," asks Dedede.
"That doesn't matter, what does matter is that there's no way you can stop us this time Mario," said Bowser.
"In your dreams," said Luigi. Bowser looked at Dedede and smirked. He snapped his finger as Kamek flew over and held out a small brown box. Bowser opened the box and pulled out a small black and white wand with a black star on the tip.
"BEHOLD!" Bowser beamed.
"What no how did you find that!?" Peach gasped.
"What is that?" asked Rarity.
"It's the Dark Star Rod," answered Bowser.
"Dark Star Rod!?" Meta Knight asked.
"That's right and soon you'll be sorry you EVER messed with us!" Dedede laughed.
"Dark Star I summon you, show these fools the meaning of merciless!" Bowser ordered. Suddenly the star began to glow in a black aura as a small dark orb appeared. The orb bulged out and began to move as eight black spikes emerged around the orb. Two small glowing red eyes appeared in the black star on the center of the orb as the spikes began rotating around the orb in a counterclockwise movement.
"Uh oh," said Luigi.
"What is that?" whimpered Fluttershy.
"The Dark Star, it's an evil being that tried to bring our world into it's control," answered Mario.
"Whatever it is, I can sense and incredible amount of Dark Energy coming out of that thing," said Twilight.
"Sir aren't you forgetting something?" asked Kamek.
"Oh right, what was it called?" asked Bowser.
"The Elements of Harmony sir," answered Kamek.
"Wait you two know about the elements!?" gasped Luna.
"Yeah, we did some research before coming here," answered Dedede.
"Enough chit chat, give us the elements now!" Bowser ordered.
"In your dreams," Celestia growled.
"Fine you wanna play like that, Dark Star give me the elements," Bowser ordered. Dark Star's eyes flashed red as six gems suddenly appeared around the Dark Star.
"No, what but how!?" Twilight gasped.
"Heh none of your business pony," sneered Bowser. He quickly grabbed the six gems and jumped back onto the airship followed by Dedede and the Dark Star. "If you want the elements back, come and get it!" said Bowser. The airship took off as his sinister laughter echoed throughout Canterlot.
"Hey get back here!" Rainbow ordered. But the airships and Battle Cruiser had suddenly disappeared leaving Canterlot in ruins.
"I can't believe he took the elements," said Yoshi.
"We have to get them back!" said Tuff.
"But how we don't know where to find them," said Rarity.
"Don't worry we'll find them, somehow," said Luigi.
"My bro's right," said Mario.
"But where do we start looking?" asked Pinkie.
"Why don't we ask Professor E. Gadd, he said he was already here doing some research so he might know where to find Bowser and Dedede," suggested Peach.
"Good idea," said Yoshi.
"If your looking for the professor just follow us," said Twilight.
"Alright," said Meta Knight.
"Be careful you guys," said Peach.
"We will thanks," said Mario. He ran out following Twilight and the ponies with his friends following behind. The hunt for the elements has begun.
Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Tiff, Tuff, Kirby, and Meta Knight followed Twilight and her friends as they led them to a small building just outside of ponyville.
"This is it," said Twilight.
"Looks kind of small for a lab don't you think?" asked Tuff.
"I don't think we should be worrying about that right now," said Meta Knight.
"Oh Twilight your back," a voice spoke up. Everyone turned around to find a pink unicorn standing next to a small dragon.
"Of course I am, why do you look so worried?" Starlight asked.
"And who are those guys?" asked the dragon. Twilight and her friends quickly introduced Mario and company and explained the situation to Starlight and Spike.
"What the Elements of Harmony stolen!?" Starlight gasped.
"Yeah and if don't hurry who knows what Bowser and Dedede will start pulling off," said Yoshi.
"Well if your looking for the professor I'm afraid he's not here right now, he went out to get some supplies for a new invention he says," said Starlight.
"But we can't wait, do you know where he went?" asked Twilight.
"Lucky for you I'm here!" a voice spoke up. Starlight and Spike quickly moved out of the way as a short man wearing a lab coat and glasses walked up holding a tool box. "Hey Luigi how you doin old chap?" asked the scientist.
"Professor E. Gadd thank god we found you," said Luigi.
"Ah, no need to explain I assume it's the whole Bowser thing right?" asked the Professor.
"Uh yes and no," answered Luigi.
"Oh I guess it's a different emergency?" asked the professor.
"Professor you do remember what the Elements of Harmony was right?" asked Starlight.
"Oh yes I do indeed," answered E. Gadd.
"Truth is the Elements have been stolen by Bowser and Dedede," answered Mario.
"What!?" gasped E. Gadd. "But how, and since when did Bowser cooperate with others?"
"That's why were here, we need your help to track them down," said Meta Knight. Professor E. Gadd scratched his chin pondering.
"Ah it seems like that is only option," said E. Gadd.
"What is?" asked Rainbow.
"Mario do you recall of the Legendary Crystal Stars?" asked E. Gadd.
"You mean the powerful stars created by the Shadow Queen?" asked Mario.
"Yes those, you see ever since I arrived here I've been feeling quite uneasy about something," answered E. Gadd. "After doing some investigating I found that Bowser and Dedede was hanging around Equestria for at least a week now,"
"What!?" gasped Tiff.
"It turns out that they were planning on using the elements as tools of mass destruction to get rid of you and your friends so they can achieve their goals," added E. Gadd. "Thus they built an underground lair and installed some sort of monster transportation device that allowed them to order monsters from a place called Nightmare Enterprises,"
"Meta Knight thats...." said Tiff.
"Yes NME, but why he was supposed to be defeated by Kirby many years ago," said Meta Knight.
"But wait he can't just come back can he?" asked Tuff.
"Not himself but maybe something or someone brought him back," answered Meta Knight.
"Hmm it seems like we have quite the mystery here," said E. Gadd. "Why don't we go back to Celestia's Castle I would like to ask Peach more about the Crystal Stars since I don't know much and plus it's been a while since I'd seen her,"
"Aww come on seriously?" groaned Rainbow. Twilight shot her a glare obviously not amused with her complaints.
"Sure thing Professor," said Twilight.
"Then let's skedaddle shall we?" said the Professor. The group quickly turned around and started back for Celestia's Castle. When they finally reached the castle they explained everything they heard from E. Gadd and the return of NME.
"Wait so this NME or whatever came back after he was defeated by Kirby?" asked Peach.
"Sister do you think this has something to do with the return of those villains?" asked Luna.
"Wait Luna what did you say?" asked Starlight.
"Well I know this is out of the blues but 30 minutes after the attack by Bowser, we received a notice from Cadence saying that Chrysalis attacked the Crystal Empire," answered Celestia.
"Chrysalis!?" yelped Rarity.
Not only that but Nightmare Moon's presence suddenly became known, not inside of me but somewhere in this castle," added Luna.
"Nightmare Moon?" whimpered Fluttershy.
"Strangely we've also had reports of King Sombra Sightings in the Frozen North as well as Tirek sightings reported by Pegsi from Cloudsdale,"
"Ok something strange is definitely going on, we've beaten all these villains before, why are they coming back!?" asked Applejack.
"I'll tell you what's going on," answered a voice. The door suddenly opened as a blue coated stallion walked in. His mane and tail were both in streams of green and yellow and his cutie mark was a rainbow colored paper and ink pen. His eyes were in a deep shade of red and the aura on his horn was also rainbow color similar to his cutie mark.
"Um sorry who are you?" asked Yoshi.
"My name is Fandom Player," answered the stallion. "But my friends call my Fandom,"
"Hi I'm Pinkie!" Pinkie cheered.
"Yes I know who you are," said Fandom. "As a matter of fact I know all of you,"
"Really?" asked Spike.
Fandom nodded,"But I'm not here for greetings, you wanna know what's going on right?"
"Well yeah," said Pinkie.
"Alright then let me ask you this, have you noticed any similarities among the return of the villains?" asked Fandom.
"Well from the news we received from Cadence it appears that they were actually struggling to keep the Changelings away," answered Celestia.
"Nightmare Moon's presence feels stronger than before," said Luna.
"The reports have stated that both Sombra and Tirek can do much more devastating damage than before and their aggression seems to have increased," Celestia added.
Fandom nodded and turned to face Meta Knight,"Meta Knight are you aware that NME has been creating upgraded versions of the monsters that Kirby has defeated before, with an increase an aggression and violent behaviors?"
"What is that true?" asked Meta Knight.
"Indeed it is," answered Fandom. " It seems that from what you told me Princesses, and what I know about NME, they have all returned powerful as ever,"
"So they're all stronger than before?" asked Spike.
"That's right, and if we were to tie in all this information with the fact that Bowser actually managed to succeed for once it all leads to one conclusion," answered Fandom.
"Wait now that you mention it, Bowser actually DID something right for once," said Peach.
"Indeed, all this is a result of the reawakening of an ancient demon known as Dark Nightmare," added Fandom.
"Dark Nightmare?" asked Fluttershy.
"Dark Nightmare is a demon only mentioned in myths, it was born after a certain someone's jealousy and hatred grew too strong, along with the defeat of another ancient being known as Dark Matter," answered Fandom.
"Dark Matter?' asked Tiff.
"That's right, after Dark Matter was defeated, parts of it's body were scattered across the galaxies to prevent it's return , however when a piece fell into the world where negative emotions grew strong, it slowly began to regenerate," said Fandom. "But before it could finally regain it's true powers it tried to latch on a certain individual whose hate and jealousy had grown to strong which later evolved into a nightmare," Luna's ear twitched upon hearing that word.
"A nightmare?" Luna asked.
"That's right, when the piece of Dark Matter collided with the nightmare, it merged into one being and mutated, evolving into a hybrid with evil intentions," answered Fandom. "According to myths, it's life was completed when the devil himself possessed the mutated nightmare,"
"And the final result was Dark Nightmare?" asked Peach.
"Yes, it was originally supposed to be sealed away in a place called Shadow Cavern or the Devil's Hideout, but any form of negative emotion that it picks up will be just enough to reawaken the beast," Fandom explained.
"That must be Bowser and Dedede," said Luigi.
"Dark Nightmare has the power to revive the dead and power them up into much stronger beings then before as long as they have dark ambitions," said Fandom. "He isn't the type of monster that normal heroes will try to face off, however those who wields the determination strong enough to overcome the evil in it's soul shall be able to reign victorious,"
Determination strong enough to overcome the evil," Mario repeated.
"Of course the power and light of the Crystal Stars are needed in order for one to be able to stand against the darkness that Dark Nightmare emits," said Fandom.
"So we just have to find the Crystal Stars right?" asked Starlight.
"Yes however even though the Crystal Stars are here in Equestria, they are separated from each other," answered Fandom.
"Oh great more work, couldn't the elements be enough of a problem for us?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well about that, the elements are currently being held in the secret underground lair that Bowser and Dedede resides in, however that hideout is being protected by an invisible barrier that can only be destroyed by finding seven keys are being held by Bowser's and Dedede's strongest warriors," answered Fandom. "However the Crystal Stars are actually located in the enemy bases where the seven guardians are holding the keys, but that would mean they would try to find the Crystal Stars before you do,"
"Well that makes our job harder and easier at the same time," said Applejack.
"But no worries, if you manage to find the Crystal Stars before the enemy does, then you should be able to use it against the guardians protecting the keys," said Fandom.
"Sounds good I guess," said Fluttershy.
"But where are these Crystal Stars?" asked Rarity.
"Well lucky for you, according to my radar that I created, the nearest one should be somewhere in Appleloosa," said E Gadd.
"Oh it's been a while since I saw Braeburn," said Applejack.
"Be careful Mario," said Peach.
"Don't worry Princess we got this," said Mario.
"Before you head out though take this portable version of the Crystal Star Radar I created, should help make your search easier," said E. Gadd handing Luigi a small Game boy.
"Thanks professor," said Luigi taking the radar.
"I wish you all the best of luck," said Celestia. The group said goodbye before they left he princesses Professor E. Gadd and Fandom. Now their biggest adventure is about to start.
"Well here we are y'all!" Applejack announced as she jumped off the train. Mario and the others followed her off the train as Luigi ran to the nearest trashcan and began vomiting.
"Uh never again," he groaned.
"Hey you ok bro?" Mario asked.
"Mario, I get motion sickness, do you THINK I'm ok?" asked Luigi.
"Sorry bro," said Mario.
"No it's fine, let's just find that Star and go back," said Luigi.
"Now don't get too confident," said Meta Knight.
"What do you mean?" asked Pinkie.
"If Bowser and Dedede found out about the Crystal Stars, they would try and make things hard for us in anyway possible," said Meta Knight.
"Meta Knight's right, we shouldn't let our guard down," added Starlight.
"Hey I know we're on a mission but let's just try to relax every once in a while," suggested Applejack.
"Well if it isn't little Mario," a voice spoke up. The group turned around only to find nobody around.
'Who said that?" asked Fluttershy.
"Up here," the voice spoke up. The group looked above to see a small shiny white crown hovering above them.
"I thought I recognized that voice," smiled Mario.
"It's been a while hasn't it?" asked the crown.
"Wait you know her?" asked Tuff. Kirby let out a confused Poyo as if he was asking the same question.
"Guys I want you to meet Kersti, she's an old friend back when I was adventuring," said Mario.
"Nice to meet you all," said Kersti.
"Hello," they all said in unison.
"So what brings you guys to Appleloosa of all places?" asked Kersti.
"We're looking for something," answered Spike.
"Hmm interesting, what is it?" asked Kersti.
"We're looking for something called the Crystal Stars," answered Tiff.
"Ah, yes I know those stars, well I hate to be the one to say anything but you won't find one here," said Kersti.
"What are you sure darling, a friend of ours told us that we'd find one here," said Rarity.
"Well actually that's not ENTIRELY true but what I meant was, you won't find it because someone got to it first," said Kersti.
"What?" asked Rainbow.
"Maybe if we can talk to them they'll understand and give it to us," suggested Yoshi.
"I'm afraid that's not an option, the one who found the star was one of Bowser's underlings," said Kersti.
"Ugh Bowser again!?" groaned Applejack.
"Will that villain do anything to ruin our lives?" asked Twilight.
"Anything," answered Luigi.
"The one who found the star was a shy guy named Guyson, he's the leader of one of Appleloosa's most notorious criminal gang called The Black Krow Bandits," said Kersti.
"And you say this Guyson is working for Bowser?" asked Meta Knight.
"Yeah, talking him into giving the star isn't going to work considering he's extremely stubborn, especially when it comes to money and riches he'll do anything to get his reward," answered Kersti.
"What do we do now?" asked Tuff.
"Find Guyson of course," answered Mario. "Kersti, you know where he is right now?"
"Normally he and his gang hangs out at the local bar here," answered Kersti.
"Lead the way darling," said Rarity. Kersti turned around and walked the group out of the train station and into Appleloosa where ponies were talking amongst each other along with a couple of buffaloes.
"Hmm seems like Appleloosa grew some changes in population," said Twilight. Eventually they were lead to a single bar where ponies, buffaloes, and even several Koopas and Goombas were drinking Apple Cider and eating pie with each other.
"Hey Kersti, you drinking again?" asked a yellow coated stallion.
"No Mr. Braeburn, just brought some friends today," answered Kersti.
"Ah see," said the stallion.
"Braeburn is that you?" asked Applejack.
"Cousin Applejack!" Braeburn called out. He ran out from behind the counter and grabbed her by the shoulders. "Oh it's so good to see y'all, how y'all been?"
"It's been good, thanks," said Applejack.
"Ah no prob, cousin, say wanna grab a drink?" he asked.
"Uh well no, we're actually lookin' for somepony," answered Applejack.
"Oh ah see, who it be, cause I know everyone in this here bar," said Braeburn smiling.
"We're lookin for someone named Guyson," said Applejack.
"Guyson!?" Braeburn yelled. Soon the entire bar fell silent as gasps replaced the laughter and chatter. Soon every eyes were on the group.
"Whoa," said Tuff.
"You say y'all looking for Guyson?" Braeburn asked the group.
"Yeah, is it wrong to mention him?" asked Twilight.
"Are you kidding nobody, and Ah mean nobody is supposed to say his name in this here bar!" a pony exclaimed.
"Geez ahm sorry y'all" said Applejack.
"It's okay cuz, you just didn't know," said Braeburn removing his hat.
"But is he really that dangerous that his name is forbidden to say?" asked Mario.
"You know Ahm Dangerous!" a voice announced. The group looked behind them as the doors burst open. Standing there was a single black shy guy wearing a stetson hat like Applejack's and a vest. Behind him were several koopas, ponies, and whippys wearing old wild western cowboy uniforms with black bandanas in the shape of crow's head.
"Aye Braeburn, the Black Krow Bandits are here, give 'em their share!" the Shy Guy yelled.
"Of course MR. Guyson," said Braeburn nervously. He quickly began gathering cups as the Shy Guy walked in. He snatched a cup of cider from one of the buffalo and began drinking.
"Um hey that was mine," the buffalo said nervously.
"Ya got a bone to pick with me bucko?" he asked drawing one of the revolvers.
"Um no sorry," he said scooting into his chair.
"Yeah, that's what ah thought," he said slamming the empty cup on the table. He turned around and walked towards the group with his gang following behind. He stopped short seeing that Mario and his friends weren't moving. "Hey ya in the way, if you ain't drinkin' then move!" Guyson yelled.
"Who's moving for you?" asked Tiff.
"Ya got somethin' to say to me missy?" Guyson sneered. "Unless ya want a bullet through the head, ya don't mess with the Guyson, ya got that?"
"Hey pal, we were here first so go find your own seat," said Rainbow Dash.
"And who asked you blue bird?" Guyson hissed.
"I'm a pegasi you snotty little jerk!" Rainbow Dash yelled. The entire bar gasped including the gang members.
"Oh that's how ya wanna play it, well fine then, you and me a duel this evenin' ya better be there or else," said Guyson. He turned around and walked back out the bar with his gang following behind.
"Oh your so screwed," laughed one of the gang members.
"Hmph a duel, I'll beat him under 10 seconds," said Rainbow.
"Are you crazy, you can't go to a duel with Guyson!" said Braeburn.
"What why not?" asked Rainbow.
"Haven't you heard?" asked a voice. Rainbow and the others turned to their left to see a small buffalo with an Indian style headband with two feathers sticking out.
"Ooh I remember you!" cheered Pinkie.
"Little Strongheart, what are you doing here?" Applejack asked.
"Just getting a drink," said the buffalo. "Anyway, you shouldn't challenge Guyson to a duel,"
"Why not?" asked Yoshi.
"Because he's the champion," answered Strongheart.
"She's right, there ain't nobody who could beat Guyson," added Braeburn.
"They say his reflexes are so good, anybody who challenged him didn't even get a chance to draw their gun before he shot him five times in a row," added Kersti.
"Uh, oh," whimpered Fluttershy.
"Ha if it's speed he wants, then speed he gets," said Rainbow Dash.
"Don't get too confident, there hasn't been a SINGLE duel where he missed an opponent," said Strongheart.
"You mean he has good accuracy?" asked Tiff.
"No he has PERFECT accuracy," answered Braeburn.
"What happens if Rainbow runs out?" asked Starlight.
"Let's just say he isn't willing to sit around and let his challengers go until they're dead," answered Strongheart. The group looked at each other with worried looks. At this point Rainbow didn't even look confident.
"Once a prey, always prey, that's Guyson's motto," said Braeburn.
"I can't believe you dragged yourself into this!" said Twilight.
"Well I didn't think he was going to be THIS good," said Rainbow Dash.
"Someone as scary and dangerous as Guyson, no wonder Bowser chose him," said Mario.
"Either way you can't run out on this duel, he'll find you and he'll kill you," said Kersti.
"The only thing you can do is train before this evening," said Meta Knight.
"How?" asked Rainbow.
"Go find Sheldon, he was the duel champion before Guyson took over, he should be able to help you," said Strongheart.
"Alright thanks," said Mario. "Come on lets-a-go," Mario ran out the door with his friends following behind.
"I hope they'll be alright," said Braeburn.
"Just believe in them," said Kersti. She looked up a t the clock. Only 6 more hours before the duel. This was the first time Kersti wished time could slow down.
"Perfectly, this evenin' one of his snotty friends, gonna be challengin' me to a duel," laughed Guyson
"It's not gonna be enough to take out all his friends but I guess one is better than nothing," said Bowser.
"Hey I'm getting rid of those rodents, you better give me my pay afterwards," said Guyson.
"Sure, sure Dedede has all the rich, I'll be sure to let him know," said Bowser.
"You better keep your word Koopa," said Guyson.
"Yeah sure, by the way shouldn't you be practicing?" asked Bowser.
"I was just leaving," answered Guyson. He turned around and slammed the door as he walked out.
"Such a merciless guy isn't he sire?" asked Kamek.
"Shut up Kamek," growled Bowser.
Mario and his friends found old koopa Sheldon sitting in his rocking chair on his front porch. Well they say koopa, but at this point he was just a dry bones.
"That must be him," said Tiff.
"Let's go ask," suggested Luigi. The group slowly walked up onto his porch.
"Eh who goes there?" the Dry Bones asked.
"Sorry to interrupt you sir but are you Sheldon?" asked Twilight.
"Yeah if you're looking for the old duel champion that's me," said the Dry Bones.
"Oh thank Celestia," said Fluttershy.
"Why you need somethin' from me?" asked Sheldon.
"You see earlier our friend was challenged to a duel by Guyson," answered Starlight.
"That no good criminal eh," said Sheldon. "Well no can do, can't fill you in,"
"We don't need you to fill her in, just some advice," said Applejack.
"Ah comin' to an old man like me, well not that old, alright then but ah tell ya,it's been a while so ah might be a little rusty," said Sheldon.
"Great thanks Mr. Sheldon," said Fluttershy.
"Ah no prob, now where is your friend?" asked Sheldon. Mario and Meta Knight shoved Rainbow Dash as the others moved out of the way. "Hmm interesting, y'all just wait here while ah teach this lil' missy a thing or two about duels," said Sheldon. The group thanked Sheldon as he took Rainbow Dash into the house. For the next several hours they all waited while Rainbow practiced shooting a revolver and getting some pointers from Sheldon. Eventually the time came for the duel to take place. As the citizens of Appleloosa, the members of the Black Krow Bandits, the sheriff, Braeburn and even Sheldon gathered in the town plaza, Mario and his friends sat on the sideline preparing Rainbow for her duel.
'You ready?" asked Mario.
"Trust me I'm always ready," Rainbow answered confidently. Her friends pat her on the back as they sent her out. For some reason she was wearing one of those cow girl vests, boots, and stetson hat like Applejack's.
"What's with the outfit?" asked Spike. Kirby let out a quiet Poyo as if he was asking the same question.
"Oh just a little somethin' to make it more realistic," said Sheldon.
"Y'all showed up ah see," laughed Guyson.
"I would never dare to run out on you Guyson!" Rainbow announced.
"Hmph cocky, well then let me explain, the rules are simple, each of us gets one bullet only, no dodgin' and if ya DO dodge the other gets a free shot," said Guyson.
"Sound good to me," said Rainbow.
"Good then we'll get started on the signal," said Guyson. Rainbow looked forward towards Guyson as her hoof hovered over her revolver. The crowd fell silent as two stared each other off. Fluttershy covered her face as the others watched nervously. A bead of sweat rolled down Rainbow's face as Guyson's mask seemed to glare at her. The silence went on for another 30 seconds before Guyson gave the signal.
"DRAW!" he yelled. And both fired. For a while everything was silent. That's when it happened. Rainbow winced as she collapsed on the ground. Twilight and her friends gasped as the Bandits exploded in excitement. "Haha another victory for Guyson!" Guyson announced.
"Oh no," said Fluttershy. Twilight was about to run out to her friend before Meta Knight stopped her.
"Wait," he said. He pointed towards Rainbow. She opened her eyes and winked at the group as she began laughing. Guyson and the others turned towards her confused.
"Wow Guyson I got you good!" Rainbow announced as she got up.
"What impossible, but how!?" Guyson stuttered. "Ah thought ah said no dodgin',"
"I didn't dodge," said Rainbow pulling off her vest. She held up high so that the crowd could see. There was a crease where the bullet had hit.
"What how?" asked Guyson. That's when it hit him. "You, y'all used a bullet proof vest!?" Guyson asked. "But that's cheatin'!" announced Guyson.
"Uh no it's not, you said one bullet and no dodging, you didn't say anything about a Bullet Proof Vest!" announced Rainbow.
"She's right you know," said Tiff.
"Lies, all lies, where are y'all proof?" asked Guyson.
"Here," said Sheldon holding up a recorder. Everyone turned towards Sheldon as Kirby happily pushed the play button. Guyson and the Bandits stood in shock as his voice began to play.
"The rules are simple, each of us gets one bullet only, no dodgin' and if ya DO dodge the other gets a free shot," "No, no it's still consider cheatin', y'all know that ain't aloud," said Guyson.
"Oh shut up Guyson," yelled Braeburn. Guyson turned towards the stallion as he glared at him. "We've had enough of you," he yelled. The crowd yelled in agreement.
"Who cares if she cheated!" a pony yelled.
"You need to get out of here!" yelled another.
"Curse you pony I'll shoot y'all here an' now!" said Guyson pointing his revolver at Rainbow. The sound died down as they stared in horror at what Guyson was about to do. But when he pulled the trigger nothing happened. "What?" he asked.
"Why are you even trying, you already used your one bullet," said Rainbow. Guyson yelped as he dropped his guns.
"Give it up Guyson you've been outsmarted," said Rainbow. At this point Mario and his friends walked up and joined Rainbow.
"It's about time we throw you behind bars!" said Applejack.
"No, not the cells!" Guyson yelped.
"Then how about this, we know you have a Crystal Star, hand it over and we'll let you go," said Mario.
"He isn't giving up anything," said a voice. The group looked behind Guyson and saw two strange creatures standing behind the gang. One looked like a smaller Bowser with a mask, while the second was large tall and orange with small green spikes protruding from each of the segments. A figure wearing a blue cloak was hovering next to them on a broomstick.
"Bowser Jr!" Mario yelled.
"Who?" asked Rarity.
"He's Bowser's son, and that must be his henchmen Kamek," said Luigi pointing towards the figure in the robe.
"Guyson you're a failure," said Bowser Jr.
"Wait come on another chance?" begged Guyson.
"Sorry Guyson, but lord Bowser has no use of you anymore," said Kamek. He pulled out a magic wand and threw him off to the side with his magic. "Now for the rest of you, I'm afraid that our little friend won't be handing over that Garnet Star he holds," said Kamek.
"What are you planning?" growled Yoshi.
"Oh nothing much, it's just that we won't allow you to interfere with Master Bowser and Master Dedede's plans, therefore we're going to have to cut your little quest short," said Kamek. "Oh Mario you DO remember Tower Power Pokey right?"
"No you're not planning to, you don't even have a royal sticker!" said Mario.
"I don't need that paper glued piece of trash, with my magic I'll transform this Pokey into the beast you fought before," said Kamek. He flew up and began waving his wand over the tall creature. It's body began to glow and before Mario could stop Kamek, the creature grew bigger and it's body began to shine brilliantly in the sunlight. The towns people screamed and ran around panicked as Bowser Jr. flew up in his clown car next to Kamek.
"Oh my Celestia!" Rarity yelped.
"It's been a while since we saw this guy!" said Luigi.
"Yeah, but is it just me or does Tower Power Pokey look a lot stronger than usual?" asked Mario.
"It must be Dark Nightmare's Power," suggested Luigi.
"Well then we're going to have to take it out quick!" announced Mario.
"How?" asked Tuff.
"Knock out all it's segments then attack the head," answered Mario.
"But be careful of the spikes on it's body!" said Luigi. Everyone nodded as they went straight to attacking Tower Power Pokey. Rainbow Dash flew up to the segment under it's head and began punching and kicking being careful not to hit the spikes. Twilight flew up to the third segment and attacked it with her magic only for it to bounce off harmlessly.
"Nothing is working!" said Starlight.
"There has to be some way to beat this thing!" said Spike.
"I know!" said Luigi.
"You got an idea bro?" asked Mario. Luigi walked over and began whispering something in Mario's ear.
"That could work," said Mario.
"Worth a shot," said Luigi.
"Ok everyone change of plans back away from the Pokey," Everyone did as they were told and backed away. Luigi quickly took the time to run on the other side. The brothers pulled out hammers and looked at each other and nodded.
"Here I go," said Mario. He brought his hammer back and swung it hitting the 5th segment and knocking it off. "There it goes bro!" said Mario. Luigi was prepared. As the segment came flying towards it, Luigi reflected it it but aimed it a bit higher so that the segment went flying into the head.
"Hey it worked," said Tuff. Kirby let out a happy Poyo as he watched Mario and Luigi do the same with the other four segments until they got to the head. Once the last segment hit the Pokey's head, it fell to the ground confused.
"Now's our chance, everyone attack!" Meta Knight ordered. Everyone quickly ran out and began attacking the head with everything they had. This went on for a whole minute before everyone backed up. The Pokey head was still alive but looked weak.
"And now for the finishing blow," said Mario.
"Ooh, ooh, over her Mario!" Pinkie called out. She had a large blue canon at her ready and Mario knew what she was planning. He raised the hammer and swung it as hard as he could towards Pinkie.
"It's all yours!" said Mario. The Pokey head flew into the canon as Pinkie aimed at Kamek and Bowser Jr. The two began to panic as they saw what was coming.
"Happy Birthday!" screamed Pinkie as she fired the cannon. The Pokey head flew out and struck the two and sent them flying off into the horizon. The crowd cheered with joy as they surrounded Mario and his friends to congratulate them. The group was walked out of the crowd and was greeted by Braeburn, Sheriff Silverstar, Little Strongheart, Sheldon, and Kersti.
"Cousin I can't thank you enough for what y'all done for Appleloosa," said Braeburn.
"Aww it was nothin'," said Applejack.
"Nothing, without you or your friend's help, we would've never been able to arrest Guyson and his Gang for good," said Kersti.
"Hey you this ain't over yet, ya hear, when ah get outta those cells, I'm gonna get my hands on you, ya hear!?" Guyson yelled as he was dragged off towards the sheriff's office.
"Anyways, as a thank you take this Garnet Star," said Kersti. "It's one of the Crystal Stars, you're looking for right?" Mario took the Brown Star from Braeburn and passed it off to the group.
"Thanks Kersti," said Mario.
"Anything for you friend," said Kersti.
"Now while we would love to stay, we have to go, we need to find the rest of the stars," said Mario.
"Hold up, before y'all go why not take home some of our cider and pie?" asked Braeburn. He handed Luigi a jar of brown liquid and Yoshi three brown boxes. "We also found this key on the ground after you beat that large creature," said Braeburn handing Mario a small red key.
"Is that?" asked Tiff.
"Yeah it's no doubt that that's one of the keys we needed," said Mario.
"Thank you," said Luigi.
"No thank you, and good luck, come visit Appleloosa when you get the chance," said the Sheriff. Mario and his friends said their goodbyes to the village as they hopped on the train to Canterlot.
"I give you two one job, ONE JOB, and you couldn't even complete it?" Bowser growled.
"Not to mention there were TWO of you who had Dark Nightmare's Power on your side," said Escargoon.
"Sorry papa, we'll do better next time," whimpered Bowser Jr.
"No, I can't trust you to take on those runts after such a miserable failure," said Bowser.
"Then that means..." Kamek stuttered.
"You know that Nightmare Enterprises has monsters better than both of you combined," said Bowser. He walked into his throne room and pushed the button on his throne. Suddenly the upper section of the left wall slid open as a large television screen emerged. The screen flickered as man wearing orange glasses and a dark blue suit appeared grinning.
"Welcome to Nightmare Enterprises Lord Bowser," said the man.
"My son and top underling failed their mission to crush that pasta loving plumber, his pink marshmallow, and their pony friends," said Bowser.
"Well in that case we have something special just for you," said the man.
"Well don't stand there snickering like Dedede, ya gotta show him," said Escargoon.
"Well you see the truth is this monster of ours isn't EXACTLY like the actual one, but we've made bigger upgrades now that it's in this current form," said the man.
"Well let's see it," said Bowser. The man snapped his finger as the door behind him slid open. What walked in was a female figure wearing a pink vest and several pieces of knights armor. She had two wings on her back and was holding a large pink lance in her right hand and a pink shield with a golden star engraved in the center, in her left hand. Her white hair was tied back into a ponytail and a small black prism hung around her neck.
"This here is the so called 'human form' of the Temporal Warrior Galacta Knight," said the man.
"It's an honor to meet you your majesty," said Galacta Knight bowing.
"Wow looks just like the original," said Escargoon.
"Ok no offense but where's the original?" asked Bowser. Suddenly a figure similar to Meta Knight dropped from the ceiling and landed next to Galacta Knight. The creature had similar white wings and was covered in knight's armor. It was holding a similar pink lance and shield and wore a mask that only revealed the glowing pink eyes.
"You called your majesty?" asked the original.
"Wha, where'd YOU come from?" asked Escargoon.
"Shut up geezer," said Bowser.
"So your majesty these are the two that we have ready for you, just pick the one you want," said the man.
"I want both," said Bowser.
"Wha both your majesty?" asked the man. "But wouldn't be easier to pick just one for now?"
"I'll pay double plus extra," said Bowser holding up a bag of gold coins.
"Sold," said the man.
"Then let's get those two downloaded!" laughed Bowser as he pushed a red button on his throne. Suddenly a large machine emerged from beneath the floor and above the ceiling. As the two machines came together, a bright light enveloped the entire room as the two Galacta Knights suddenly appeared. Both Galacta Knights jumped off and bowed before Bowser.
"It's an honor working for you your majesty," said the human version.
"Heh, I like these two already, loyal and respectful," laughed Bowser. He turned towards the screen. "I'll send your pay over right now," said Bowser.
"Excellent, enjoy the two Galacta Knights," said the man.
"Wait, calling them BOTH Galacta Knight is a bit confusing, what should I call the human version? asked Bowser.
"Well since the human version is the powered up version, let's call it Galacta Knight EX for now," said the man.
"Galacta Knight EX, I like that," said Bowser smirking.
"Great, have a wonderful day now my lord," said the man. After that the screen cut off and the television slid back into the wall along with the two machines.
"What now your majesty?" asked Escargoon. Bowser looked back at the two Galacta Knights and scratched his chin.
"You," said Bowser pointing towards Galacta Knight EX.
"My lord?" she asked.
"You know who Meta Knight is right?" asked Bowser.
"Of course my lord," answered Galacta Knight EX.
"He and that pink puffball of his are currently here in this world, along with my arch nemesis, go find them and get rid of them," Bowser ordered.
"At once," said Galacta Knight EX. She grabbed her shield and lance and ran out the door leaving Bowser, Escargoon, and the original Galacta Knight in the room.
"Now let's see how this plays out," snickered Bowser.
"Congrats on finding the Garnet Star," said Fandom.
"To be honest, a Pokey that was supposed to be powered up Dark Nightmare's magic wasn't very powerful," said Yoshi.
"Hey what matters is that we found our first star AND got the key," said Starlight.
"Yes, however I do want to suggest that you limit the number of group members that you take along with you so you don't drag too much attention to yourselves," said Fandom.
"Oh right almost forgot that was a thing," said Mario.
"Well anyways my radar detected the next closest Crystal Star located in Cloudsdale," said Professor E. Gadd.
"Oh great to the skies I suppose," said Spike.
"So before you go I choose who's going then get ready to head out," said Fandom. Suddenly a loud crash outside the throne room caught the group's attention. Just as they turned around, the doors burst open as a human figure lept in.
"What the heck!?" Tuff yelped. The human looked up and pointed her lance towards the group.
"I found you," she said.
"Who are you?" asked Tiff.
"Oh wouldn't you like to know," said the figure.
"Wait that voice, I know that from somewhere," said Meta Knight. He looked closer and realized who it was. "Galacta Knight?"
"No, I'm the new and improved form, Galacta Knight EX!" announced Galacta Knight Ex.
"Galacta Knight EX?" asked Tiff. Kirby tilted his head in confusion as if he was asking the same question.
"I have received orders from Lord Bowser to rid of your existence from this world, and that's exactly what I plan to do," said Galacta Knight EX. She raised her lance and charged at Mario. Mario quickly drew his hammer and held it in front of his face as Galacta Knight's lance collided with it. Mario swung his hammer into Galacta Knight's face sending her flying backwards. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash snuck up from behind and charged at her at full speed. Galacta Knight EX raised her shield just as Rainbow Dash rammed into her. Meta Knight drew his sword and was about to charge before Fandom stopped him.
"Wait," said Fandom.
"What is it?" asked Meta Knight.
"Look," said Fandom pointing towards Galacta Knight EX's neck. "You see that black prism?" Fandom asked.
"Yes," answered Meta Knight.
"I can sense Dark Nightmare's energy flowing from within that prism," said Fandom.
"Then that means...." Meta Knight gasped.
"Yes I have a feeling that if we destroy that prism we can free Galacta Knight EX from Dark Nightmare's control," said Fandom.
"What exactly do you want me to do?" asked Meta Knight.
"Get that prism and bring it to me," answered Fandom. Meta Knight raised his sword and waited for an opening. Just as Galacta Knight EX swatted away Twilight with her lance, Meta Knight quickly charged forward and swung his sword at Galacta Knight's face. Noticing the attack, Galacta Knight EX fell back as Meta Knight slashed and cut through the necklace. Galacta Knight EX quickly pulled herself up and kicked Meta Knight back.
"Nice try, Meta Knight," Galacta Knight EX smirked.
"I wasn't going for you," said Meta Knight. He held up the necklace with the prism and threw it back towards Fandom.
"Hey give that back!" Galacta Knight EX demanded. Fandom quickly grabbed the prism and threw it on the ground. Galacta Knight EX stopped short as she gasped. Fandom raised his hoof and smashed the prism as a loud screech filled the room. Galacta Knight EX's eyes widened as she fell to her knees clutching her chest. Black energy began flowing out of her body as it condensed into a small orb. The ground began to shake as Galacta Knight EX screamed out in agony while thrashing around on the ground.
"What's happening!?" Applejack yelled over the noise.
"I don't know but this doesn't look good!" yelled Spike. Eventually Galacta Knight EX stopped moving as the black orb expanded and disintegrated into thin air.
"Is it over?" asked Tuff.
"I think so," answered Fluttershy. Mario and his friends looked over to the limp body of Galacta Knight EX and slowly walked over. Carefully, Meta Knight lifted her body into his arms and stared at her sleeping face.
"Is she ok?" asked Peach. Galacta Knight EX winced as she slowly opened her eyes.
"Wha.. what happened," she asked groggily.
"It looks like she's back to normal," said Fandom.
"Galacta, are you alright?" asked Meta Knight.
"I...think....so, my....body..still..feels...a....little...numb," she answered.
"We should have her checked," said Meta Knight.
"This way, I know someone who can help," said Twilight. Mario and his friends helped Galacta Knight EX to her feet as they followed Twilight out the door.
Rarity clapped her hooves out of excitement as everyone gathered around her. After Nurse Redheart allowed Galacta Knight EX her dismissal, Mario and his friends managed to convince her into joining sides with them. And since Mario left for Cloudsdale with Rainbow Dash, Kirby and Tiff, she had some time to designing Galacta Knight EX a new outfit. It didn't take long for her to design human styled clothing since she remembered wearing some back Canterlot High. Now that it was finally finished, she was eager to show everyone her final results.
"Well let's see it Rarity," said Celestia.
"Oh but of course, after so much hard work, I was able to create a new outfit for Galacta Knight EX," said Rarity. "Behold!" Rarity pulled back the curtains as Galacta Knight EX walked in wearing a pink blouse with a white skirt. Several oohs and ahhs arose from the group as they congratulated Rarity on her work and Galacta on her new looks.
"Don't stare at me so much," said Galacta looking away.
"Hey it's not THAT bad," said Yoshi.
"He's right darling, you look absolutely gorgeous!" Rarity beamed.
"I must say you are quite talented with human clothing," said Peach.
"Oh yes, I learned a thing or two back in the day," said Rarity.
"That's great, now as much as I would love to keep admiring Galacta Knight's new look, we need to get back to work, plus I think Galacta Knight EX is getting shy standing out in front of us looking like that," said Fandom.
"Yes please," said Galacta Knight EX.
"Well than I suppose we should train up," said Luigi.
"Agreed," said Meta Knight. The group walked out of the room followed by Rarity and Galacta Knight EX and headed in their own direction.
"So your looking for a certain star you say?" asked the yellow mare.
"Yes, a friend of our detected one around this area," said Mario. Kirby let out a Poyo agreeing with Mario.
"So what do you think Spitfire?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Actually yes, one of our recruits actually found something like that several hours earlier," answered Spitfire. "I don't know if its the one you're looking for though," Spitfire began digging through her drawer and pulled out a clear white star.
"That's it that's the one!" Mario exclaimed.
"I don't really know what it is or where it came from, but if it's yours then well take it," said Spitfire. Mario took the star from Spitfire and passed it over to Tiff.
"Well that was easy," said Rainbow Dash.
"Yeah almost too easy," said Tiff.
"Something wrong Tiff?" asked Mario.
"Something doesn't feel right, there is no way that Bowser or Dedede would just let us take this star," answered Tiff.
"I think your just imagining things," said Rainbow Dash. Just as she said that a pegasi Rainbow Dash knew as Vapour Trail burst in with a terrified look on her face.
"Spitfire you have to come quick, this is really bad!" said Vapour Trail.
"What is it this time?" Spitfire groaned.
"We're under attack!" Vapour Trail screamed.
"What!?" asked Spitfire. "By who?"
"I think I have a clue," said Mario. "Let's go," He ran out the door with Rainbow Dash, Tiff and Kirby following behind.
"Ok look I know your upset that Galacta Knight EX failed but....." Kamek flinched as Bowser got in his face.
"BUT WHAT THAT COMPANY SENT ME A FRAUD AND YOU KNOW IT!!!!!" Bowser roared.
"Please your majesty calm yourself, I'm sure that this time will be different," said Galacta Knight.
"I don't wanna hear it from YOU pinky," Bowser growled.
"Galacta Knight EX may have failed but surely this new monster should finish the job," said Dedede.
"I hope you know what you're doing triple D," said Bowser.
"Oh trust me, she knows what they're capable off," said Dedede.
"Sir we've arrived," said a voice.
"Zan Partizanne good work," said Dedede. "See Bowser if she can lead a fleet of your airships into battle then she shouldn't have trouble with Kirby or Mario,"
"I'm going to trust you on this one," said Bowser.
"Zan is the monster ready?" asked Escargoon.
"Ready to unleash it's shocking terror," answered Zan Partizanne.
Mario kicked another Paratroopa off the edge as the pegasi flew off screaming. Rainbow Dash was on one of the airships beating the Koopas that tried to throw her off while Kirby and Tiff were on the clouds beating Paratroopa after Paratroopa.
"Damn Bowser, he just doesn't give up," said Mario.
"There's too many, we can't hold them off," said Tiff.
"We have the star that's all we need, we just have to escape," said Mario. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck the cloud near Tiff causing her to fly into Mario. The star flew out of her hands and landed in one of the clouds.
"Tiff are you alright?" asked Mario.
"Yeah I'm fine, but wait where's the star?!" Tiff gasped.
"Right here!" a voice answered. The three turned around to find an airship hovering above them. Bowser, Dedede, Escargoon, and Galacta Knight stood on the airship clutching the star.
"Bowser!" exclaimed Mario.
"Mario you and your friends may have beaten Guyson and Galacta Knight EX, but this time is different," sneered Bowser.
"Since when did YOU have the star?" Tiff gasped.
"Hmph I would've gotten it myself, by Zan Partizanne here is actually useful compared to Guyson and Galacta Knight EX," said Bowser. He pointed to the figure next to him. She had a black robe with yellow outlines and two purple hearts chained to each other attached on center of her robe. Her hair was dyed yellow and she wore a black hat with a strange logo imprinted on the center.
"Hello Kirby it's been a while," said Zan. Kirby shot Zan a glare obviously not happy to see her. "You know I was hoping that I would never have to hear your name again, but it seems Void Termina nor Hyness was powerful enough to stop you,"
"Hey Mario what's going on?" Rainbow Dash asked flying down next to them.
"Hmph typical you brought along one of those ponies with you?" asked Bowser.
"Hey you're Bowser!" growled Rainbow Dash.
"Ugh how annoying, Zan release the monster and let's get outta here," said Bowser.
"Well Kirby I would've loved it if I could beat you myself, by the lord is not in a good mood right now, so I'll leave one of my toys to play with," said Zan. She pulled out a cloud from behind her and tossed it in front of the four.
"Hey you're not running away are you!?" growled Rainbow.
"Captain, you heard the lord, let's go," said Zan. The captain nodded as he turned the airship around and flew back the direction they first came from. The other airships took notice and followed after the one.
"Hey get back here!" Rainbow ordered. But just as she was about to fly after the airship, a bolt of lightning fell from the clouds and struck Rainbow down.
"Rainbow are you ok!?" Tiff gasped.
"Ugh what hit me?" Rainbow asked. Suddenly the cloud in front of them began to expand and grow until it was almost as big as one of the airships. A single eye appeared in the center and 12 yellow spikes popped out and around the cloud. The cloud looked at the four and let out an angry hiss surprising the four. "What is that!?" Rainbow yelped.
"It's Kracko, one of NME's monsters!" Tiff gasped. Kracko flew around and began firing bolts of lightning at the group. Forcing them to run or dodge.
"Why is it so pissed off?" asked Mario.
"It must be Dark Nightmare," suggested Tiff. "His dark magic must've increased Kracko's aggression," The four continued to run and dodge the lightning bolts as Kracko flew after them in hot pursuit, "We can't beat this on our own, Kirby you know what to do," said Tiff. Kirby nodded and let out a determined Poyo to tell Tiff he was ready. Smiling, Tiff pulled out a small yellow star and held it up. "Go Warp Star!" she threw the star and watched it expand and grow. The Warp Star flew up and picked up Kirby before flying off. Kracko took notice and turned his attention to Kirby. The four stopped and watched as Kirby flew around Kracko dodging lightning bolts.
"Can Kirby really beat that thing?" asked Mario.
"He did it before, he should be able to do it again," answered Tiff. But she watched in horror as Kirby was struck by three bolts of lightning and fell into the clouds. "KIRBY!!!!" Tiff gasped. The three ran over to where Kirby fell to find him sizzling and weak. "Kirby are you ok?" Tiff asked. Kirby gave Tiff a sad look as he let out a weak Poyo. The three turned around to find Kracko hovering above them.
"Hey you'll pay for that!" said Rainbow. She flew up to try and attack Kracko only to be shot down by lightning.
"Rainbow!" said Mario. Kracko turned his attention to the remaining two and prepared to attack when a familiar voice called out.
"KIRBY!!!!" Kirby slowly got up and turned towards the voice. The three found Galacta Knight EX standing hold her lance.
"Galacta!" Mario called out.
"What where?" Rainbow asked joining them.
"Kirby inhale this!" said Galacta throwing her lance at Kirby. Kirby jumped up and ran forward as he sucked up Galacta's lance. He jumped up and began spinning in circles as orange band appeared around his forehead. The band expanded into a green hat as a silver star appeared in the center of the band. Kirby raised his left arm up as a large sword with a blue hilt and a star in the center, appeared. Kirby landed on the cloud as the sword shrank down to it's normal size.
"Whoa did Kirby just transform?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"That's his copy ability," Galacta said as she ran up to them.
"Galacta what are you doing here?" asked Mario.
"And whoa you look great," said Rainbow Dash.
"Um thanks, but I don't have time to explain, right now we need to beat Kracko," said Galacta.
"Fair enough," said Mario.
"Alright now that Kirby is Sword Kirby, he should be able to beat Kracko," said Tiff.
"Actually he's not Sword Kirby," said Galacta.
"Wait he's not?' asked Tiff.
"No this is his Super Ability Ultra Sword," answered Galacta.
"Ultra Sword?" asked Mario.
"I don't know what that is, but it sounds awesome," said Rainbow. Kirby jumped on his Warp Star as he flew towards the monster. Kracko tried to strike down Kirby, but failed as Kirby blocked the attack with his sword. Once he was eye to eye with Kracko, Kirby jumped off his Warp Star and swung his sword around in circles then raised it above his head as it expanded and grew. "Whoa!" yelped Rainbow. Then with one swift strike Kirby swung down and sliced the monster in half. Kirby turned as back on Kracko and raised his sword in the air as Kracko exploded.
"Alright he did it!" cheered Tiff. Kirby flew down and spit out Galacta's lance.
"Kirby that was awesome!" said Rainbow Dash.
"That's what I'd expect from my little buddy," said Mario. Kirby let out a happy Poyo as the three congratulated him on his victory.
"Kirby," Galacta walked up to him and picked him up. "You did good," she said smiling. Kirby let out another happy Poyo as if he was happy to receive a compliment from Galacta.
"Well we managed to beat Kracko but we lost the star," said Tiff.
"Not to mention we didn't get any keys from that battle," said Rainbow.
"Then it means Kracko wasn't a guardian, he was probably just a distraction that Bowser set up for us," said Mario.
"Either way let's just head back to the castle, we have to report everything to the others," said Galacta picking up her lance. Agreeing with Galacta, the five said their goodbyes and flew down into ponyville as they made their way back to Celestia's castle.
By the time Mario, Rainbow Dash, Tiff, Kirby, and Galacta Knight EX got back to the castle, night had fallen over Equestria. The five quickly made their way back to the throne room where everyone was waiting. Professor E. Gadd was the first to notice them upon entrance.
"Oh welcome back, how'd it go?" he asked.
"We found the star yes, but that's when Bowser and Dedede appeared and nabbed it from us," answered Mario.
"Oh sweet stars not again Bowser," groaned Peach.
"They really are stubborn aren't they?" asked Celestia.
"Yeah not only that but they even sent a monster after us," said Tiff.
"Oh great which one?" asked Tuff.
"Kracko," answered Galacta Knight EX.
"Kracko?" asked Tuff confused. "But I thought Kirby beat Kracko,"
"It's probably Dark Nightmare," said Pinkie Pie cheerfully.
"Do you at least know where they went?" asked Meta Knight.
"From the looks of it they were heading south east," said Mario.
"What's southeast from Cloudsdale?" asked Yoshi.
"Appleloosa, the place you were when you fought Guyson, the Forbidden Jungle, and the Badlands aka Changeling Kingdom," answered Luna.
"Bowser and Dedede don't seem like the type to visit a place like Appleloosa," said Luigi.
"So then it's either The Forbidden Jungle or the Changeling Kingdom," said Starlight.
"Well wherever they're going, we better make sure that we follow them as soon as possible before they do who knows what," said Tiff. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement. Suddenly the lights randomly began to flicker.
"What the hay?" asked Applejack.
"Sister did you forget to pay the electric bill again?" groaned Luna.
"No I'm sure I paid it," said Celestia. But the moment she said that the lights in the castle died leaving the group in complete darkness.
"Yow!" Spike yelped.
"Eek, I hate the dark," Fluttershy whimpered. The groups conversation was suddenly interrupted when a sinister laughter filled the room.
"Um Pinkie this isn't funny darling," said Rarity.
"That wasn't me," said Pinkie. The sinister laughter once again filled the room as a cold wind swooped past Luna.
"Sister it's not hot in here, there wasn't any reason for you to open the windows," said Luna.
"What are you talking about, the windows are closed," said Celestia confused.
"Then why is there a draft in here?" Luna asked.
"Can we at least get some lights in here?" asked Galacta Knight EX. As soon as she asked that a small purple light appeared next to Luigi.
"Oh thank the stars," said Luigi. He turned to face his friends not noticing the second purple light appear next to the first. "Is everyone here?" asked Luigi. Everyone in the room answered yes.
"Luigi," Fluttershy whimpered.
"What is it?" asked Luigi.
"Behind you," Tuff said nervously.
"What?" asked Luigi That's when he noticed his friends were all staring at him with a terrified look on their face. Confused, Luigi turned around as he came face to face with a large white round ghost with purple eyes and blue tongue. Luigi screamed as he fell backwards. The ghost laughed as blue flames suddenly appeared around the group illuminating the room and revealing the ghost's true identity. "King Boo," Luigi said trembling in fear.
"Hello Luigi, it's been a while," King Boo laughed.
"What do you want?" Luigi yelped.
"One word, REVENGE!" King Boo hissed. He began to laugh as skeletal version of Bowser fell from the ceiling and landed to his right. Standing on his left was a black pony with deep blue eyes that almost resembled Luna. Around the three, Boos hovered around laughing, dry bones emerged from the ground rattling their bones, and several black ponies wearing yellow shades and flowing blue mane and tail were flying around. There was even a small purple creature wearing a skull and held two bones. Around King Boo, the skeletal Bowser, and the black mare were mummified balls with sharp teeth and glowing yellow eyes.
"Eek no, I'm scared!" Fluttershy whimpered.
"Nightmare Moon!?" Luna gasped.
"Hello me, nice to see you again," laughed the mare. "Oh and I brought the Shadow bolts with me, hope you don't mind,"
"Dry Bowser," Mario growled.
"Yeah cause one Bowser wasn't enough," laughed Dry Bowser.
"Even Mumbies and Gabon from Nightmare Enterprises," said Meta Knight. Mumbies hissed as Gabon hit both of it's bones against each other while it rattled.
"How did you know we were here!?" Luigi yelped.
"Bowser and Dedede may be stupid, but they're not THAT stupid," answered Dry Bowser.
"Besides they promised us a big reward if we got rid of you," said Nightmare Moon.
"I hope your ready Luigi, cause it's scare time!" laughed King Boo. "Get them!" King Boo ordered. The Boos, Dry Bones, Shadow Bolts, and Mumbies all charged towards the group laughing and cackling wickedly. Mario quickly pulled out his hammer and whacked a Dry Bones as Yoshi ground pounded a Shadow Bolt. Meta Knight and Galacta Knight EX drew their weapons a swung at the Boos that got too close. Rainbow Dash went head to head with a Shadow Bolt as Applejack and Rarity whacked and bucked at the Dry Bones. The group all did their best to ward off the threat as King Boo, Dry Bowser, and Nightmare Moon watched the battle.
"Heh this is quite entertaining," said Dry Bowser.
"Don't get cocky bonehead, we're not here for a show," hissed Nightmare Moon.
"Will you two shut up!?" hissed king Boo. Suddenly the Boos all yelped as they began to scatter and disappear. "What's going on?" King Boo hissed. That's when he noticed Luigi sucking up the Boos in a red vacuum. "Damn that Luigi and his Poltergust 5000!" King Boo screeched.
"Hey for being ghosts, your Boos sure are cowards," laughed Dry Bowser.
"I would keep my mouth shut if I were you numskull," snickered Nightmare Moon as she pointed to the Dry Bones crawling back into the floor.
"The same goes for you," said King Boo. Nightmare Moon was about to question his logic when she saw her Shadow Bolts flying out the window.
"You useless lot!" Nightmare Moon hissed.
"But hey at least Gabon and the Mumbies are still...." Dry Bowser's statement was cut short when he saw Gabon's bones on the ground and the Mumbies flying around on fire. "I knew I should've kept my mouth shut," said Dry Bowser sounding disappointed.
"Alright we just beat your minions, how about you beat it," said Mario.
"Never, we would never lose to the likes of you," hissed King Boo. Luigi smiled as he raised the Poltergust 5000."You may have won this time, but you won't be so lucky next time!" King Boo hissed as he disappeared. Nightmare Moon sneered as she flew out the window, and Dry Bowser snorted as he jumped out the window.
"Phew," said Luigi slumping down on the floor.
"Well that's enough excitement for one day," said Yoshi. "How about we turn in for the night?" Everyone agreed as they walked out the door.
