No way, Spike! There's absolutely no way Celestia would do something so childish!" Twilight exclaimed as she sat in her chair eating her food. Rose and cherry sandwiches were every alicorn's favorite snack. At least in her eyes. She never actually asked Celestia whether she liked them or not. She resolved to ask whenever she next saw her former mentor. "Ya never know. Celestia can be a bit playful, so hiding the sun on the day of the Celebration as a prank, seems like something she might do." He jumped off his seat across from Twilight and walked over to the balcony to look out over it. "Then again, she-" Spike cut himself off with a small burp, followed by a rush of flames as he opened his mouth wide. Out of the green fire came a scroll, rolled up and sealed tight with what Spike could only call a modified version of the royal seal of Canterlot. "Twilight! This is urgent!" She was out of her seat before he could even finish the sentence. "What's the matter, Spike?! What's wrong? Has something happened?" Spike turned to Twilight, who was now directly behind him, coming up to him with a worried expression on her face. "Is it the princesses? Is Equestria in danger?" "That's just it, Twi." Spike said, handing her the scroll. "I can't tell if it is the Princesses or not. Look at the seal." Twilight did as instructed, and took a good, long look at the seal on the scroll. She examined every single solitary detail down to the edges made by the stamp used to place it there. Sure enough, it wasn't the seal of the princesses. It may have looked similar, but that was all their was to it. But there was a bigger question forming in Twilight's mind. If this wasn't from the princesses, then who was it from? She had to know. She was cut off from her thoughts by Spike suddenly chiming in with, "So, are ya gonna open it?" Twilight smiled as she looked at him. "Relax. I'm getting there, Spike. Hold on." And with that, she stripped off the seal, being as careful as she could in doing so, as not to trigger anything that the scroll may contain, if it did have anything. Once this was completed, she unrolled the parchment and read it aloud for Spike to hear. "Dear Twilight Sparkle, "I do apologize for sending this out of the blue, and I apologize even more if my sudden appearance has caused you any inconvenience at all. However, I have something I must discuss with you. It is of the utmost importance. "I must apologize once again for my rather direct tone, but while it is not a life-threatening emergency, I do believe it will be very beneficial for you to answer and attend my summons, as i have some information I'm sure you'll love to hear. "Please consider coming. I'd be remiss if you did not." Sincerely, Faust Twilight stood stock still. Not a single muscle in her body moved an inch out of place as she read the name on the letter over and over and over again in her mind, which had long since stopped focusing on anything else. In that moment, that name was her life, her very being. Her entire world, wrapped up five little letters. Faust. She had never been more surprised, more shocked, more excited, more honored, in her entire life. She had received a letter from Faust herself, the very being who created all life on Equestria, and had been asked to meet with her! As she lowered the scroll, her smile, which until now she hadn't realized had spread across her face, had widened to the point where Spike believed her head would crack open long before it fell. "Uh...Twilight?" He jumped when her pinprick eyes landed on him. "Yes, spike?" "Um..." He gulped. "What did she want?" Then she returned to sanity as though it had never even happened, though her tone still held a bit of awestruck glee as she spoke "She wants to meet us, Spike. Oh i can only imagine what it is she could possibly want with us!" "She...wants to meet us? The creator of all life on Eqeuestria wants to meet us? In person?" "Yes, in person, Spike. Isn't it exciting?" "Eh, i'm a little...astounded!" His tone shifted from bored to excited in the span of only a few seconds as he and Twilight shared a smile. "Let's go!" They both said at once. Spike got on Twilight's back and they were about to take off when Spike had a thought. "Wait. How are we supposed to get to Elysium from here?" Twilight stopped mid jump, and pulled her hoof back from take off position, lowering herself and letting Spike down off her back as she did so. "I don't know, Spike. Does the letter say anything about how to get there?" Spike ran off to retrieve the letter, grabbing it off the floor, where they had left it in their rush to go see the goddess of Equestria. "Hmm...it says it here in a post-script, I think. P.S. If you do decide to come, please use this transportation spell I placed in the seal of the letter. Just focus your magic onto the seal to activate it, and you'll be on your way." "Well, that's...convenient. Let's do it." Twilight said as Spike retrieved the seal and placed it on the table they were just sitting at, getting out of the way just in case something big happened. And something big did indeed happen. When Twilight placed her magic into the seal, it erupted in a flash of white light and transformed into a magic circle with the same stamp as the seal in the center. Not knowing what else to do, lest they stand there and let the spell dissipate, they both stepped inside the circle, at Which point the spell activated, transporting them higher into the clouds than any pegasus had ever gone before. "Wow, Spike. So this is Elysium? It all looks so...majestic." Twilight said as she stepped out of the circle and onto the red velvet carpet covering the solid diamond walk way in front of her. It all shone so brilliantly she had to cover her eyes when she first saw it. However, as her eyes got used to it, she saw that that brilliance wasn't just limited to the walkway. The throne in front of her shimmered and dazzled with so much gold that she was sure it was made out of the very purest material , even from this far away, and without Rarity's expertise in jewels. She stared in awe at it. But even that paled in comparison to the pony sitting on it. She had a beautiful dark red mane, and a gloriously powerful horn rested atop her head the same color as her beige coat. Not a single imperfection was present. Not even a frown adorned her face as she stared down at Twilight with the most beautiful smile she had ever seen. Were Twilight not so unsure of her own worthiness in this situation, she would've commented on it at some point, but instead she just sat on her haunches, admiring the picture perfect mare before her. She truly was a goddess fit to rule over all of Equus. She was sure she'd fall in love if she kept staring into those eyes too long, and so she looked away. Only for her attention to be turned right back toward them when she heard her name being called. "Twilight Sparkle. So good of you to join me. I'm so glad you decided to accept my invitation. I wasn't sure what i'd do if you hadn't. I'd be so filled with sorrow that my heart would surely burst at the thought of losing your interest." Twilight blushed like mad. "Oh, well, you know! Its not everyday the very god who created you and everything around you calls you in for a meeting you know?" Faust laughed. A good-natured, happy laugh that sent Twilight's' heart fluttering nearly out of her chest as she heard it. Her voice was like a melody. Mesmerizing and filled to the brim with joy and cheerfulness. She truly was a perfect being. "Well, I do suppose you're right, Twilight Sparkle." "Oh, please. Call me Twilight, your holiness." She stopped her. "Well then, Twilight. I do hope you will call me Faust as well. After all, as fellow immortal beings, we simply must look out for one another. You will be my friend, won't you, Twilight?" Wait. That did not just happen. Did it? It did? Well then. Twilight couldn't believe what she was hearing. Faust, the goddess of all creation, wanted to be friends with her. Her, a mere princess with no real experience and not a few feats and a castle to her name. She was not worthy of this! "I'd love to be your friend, Lady Faust. Only, I do not believe i am worthy enough to-" "Nonsense! You've done well more than enough to earn your place here and then some." She lowered herself to whisper in her ear, "Besides, between you and me, it gets pretty lonely up here by myself." She righted herself, and looked down at Twilight with a more serious expression. "Now then, let us dispense with the formalities shall we? As I have stated in my letter, I have something I must discuss with you, Twilight. Correct?" "Yes, that's right. What is it?" Twilight asked in return. "Before that, I must apologize yet again." "Again? Why" Twilight asked in confusion. "For deceiving you. I did not bring you here because I had something to tell you. Oh no! I brought you here because your friends, have something to tell you." "My friends?" Twilight asks, looking around. "Over here, darling!" called a voice out of nowhere. After a quick look around, Twilight spotted Rarity coming up on her right. "Rarity?! When did you get here?" "I was here before you, Twilight dear. It would seem that you got here a bit...late." Suddenly, another voice made itself known. "Late is right. What took ya so long, Twi? The others all got here before you did." "The...others?" Twilight whispered, her voice barely audible due to her shock." "Yep! We're all here. Awesome, huh?" came another voice. Twilight looked past Rarity to see Rainbow, coming up to them as well. "Where are you all coming from? How did you get here? Did you all get the letter, too?" "Yesiree, and we all showed up, so now it's time for a PARTY!" came Pinkie's voice from her left. "Um...Pinkie? I don't think Faust would like that right about now." Came Fluttershy's small voice, carried over thanks to the large room. "Really? Aww!" Pinkie pouted as she came up beside Apple Jack, and Flutters came up beside Rainbow Dash. "Wait a minute!" Twilight shouted, causing them all to look toward her. "Can somepony please tell me what the hay is going-" she gasped, covering her mouth. "I'm sorry, Lady Faust." "It's fine. Even I curse sometimes. How long do you think it took me to make you girls? It was a long, stressful process, trust me." "I see..." Was all Twilight said as she looked away, blushing in embarrassment again. She looked around at her friends. "So, Faust tells me you girls have some things you wanna tell me?" Then she has a thought. "Hey, wait. How are you girls not in awe of Lady Faust." "About that.." Apple Jack said. "you might wanna sit down for this one, understand? You're gonna want to after this, so we might as well get it over with." "O...kay, well..." Twilight sat. "I'm listening." "Well, Twi...To start..." "No. No. No no no no no no no no! You cannot be serious right now! This is impossible!" Twilight shouted as she heard what her friends had to say. "I think you're well beyond the realm of impossible, sugar cube" Apple Jack said, her red eyes still glowing. "AJ's right." Rainbow said, her wings flared out, rainbow color streaming through them as she walked up to her astonished friend. "You're having a meeting with Faust for Pete's sake. Impossible's not lookin' like a valid argument right now." "But! B-b-but Fluttershy? A goddess?!" "Appearances can be deceiving Twilight."Fluttershy giggled. "Sorry for lying to you all these years, darling. We just couldn't let our secrets be found out." "Even by our closest friends!" Pinkie shouted. "So, all of you? This whole time? You knew about each other and didn't tell me?" Twilight said, slight sadness in her voice. At least until she heard, "No. It's not like that at all. I'm actually quite surprised about Rainbow being a princess!" Fluttershy said. "Me?! You're a goddess Flutters! I'm nothing compared to you!" "Oh no! I'm nothing compared to Rarity! Ruling over dragons is hard, much more so is trying to get them to follow you like she did!" "Oh pishposh, Fluttershy. My measly feat pales in comparison to Granny Smith's oh so romantic wish. Immortal love is so much more... appealing than simply ruling a nation." "Well, what about Pinkie Pie. Ya'll seem to have forgotten she's discord's daughter! I always wondered why you can do all those crazy things. To think that that was why this whole time. Talk about a shocker!" "So, what can you do, Twilight? what your secret?" The purple mare blushed and hid her face in her hooves. "Oh, wow. You girls are all so" amazing and wonderful. Your stories are so interesting while mine is just...well..." "Nonsense, sugar cube! Go on and tell us. I promise we won't laugh." "I might!" "Pinkie!" "What? I'm a giggly mare." Apple Jack simply smiled and shook her head. "Well, Pinkie might. But she's just a walkin' giggle fit. Don't let her stop ya. Tell us what it is. We're all right here." Twilight seemed to think for a long while before she finally spoke. "I'm a Conduit. It basically means that if anything should happen to me, or if I just so happen to get taken away, Equestria's magic will either disappear for a hundred years, or be under somepony else's control." All was quiet after that, and Twilight was starting to think that she shouldn't have said anything. But just as she was about to rush off in the other direction, crying her eyes out, she heard Apple Jack say. "Well, gosh darnit, Twilight. If you'd' have told us you were so important sooner, we would've been flabbergasted." "What?" Twilight said as she looked up from her hooves. "A hundred years is a horribly long time to be without my magic. I simply will not be able to make a living without my clothing. And i do so love earning mortal money" "That's right! How could you keep something like that a secret, and for so long! You had no idea whether someone could've come along and took it from you." "I've had training!" Twilight shot back. "She's right, Twilight. You could've gotten hurt. Remember Tirek? Training or not he still took your magic. Had it not been for Friendship magic, we'd be dead, and without magic for a darn long amount o' time. But...even so, we're all still okay. And that's all that matters. Right, girls?" All at once the group shouted, "YEAH!" and threw their hooves into the air. All except for Twilight, who was just sitting there, watching them. Rainbow spoke up on this. "Come on, egghead! Quite sittin' around and get over here! We can't do this without you!" Twilight did not move, however, and sat there watching the five of them for a few minutes. They were all smiling, and they seemed not at all angry or upset about anything they had heard. If anything, their smiles were brighter because of it. The sight brought tears to her eyes. "Oh, girls..." She galloped over to them, and threw her hooves into the air as well, joining them in a hoof-bump, all the while smiling as well. Faust, who had been watching the whole time, simply smiled and nodded, proud of what she had just seen occur. Surely no friendship could hold a candle to the one these six shared. And that was just wonderful.
