Twilight Velvet plays Princess Snow Veil and is adored by all. The crowds love her, she's friends with all her coworkers and is the most beloved character in the park. The Disneigh park is her life and she couldn't ask for more. There's no place she'd rather be because not only is it her job, but it's her family.

It's a beautiful day, sun in the sky when Snow Veil approaches her first photo pass of the day. "Ah, this is my favorite part of the day," sighs Velvet with a smile. "Making little fillies and colts happy is the best feeling in the world." She then stands still, puts a smile on her face, and takes pictures with several foals before it's time to close the photo pass. However, a few minutes before closing, a small filly with cancer shows up for a picture, to which Velvet is given the go ahead. She takes the picture with the little filly and makes her day. The little filly then gives her a hug and runs off to catch up with her mother. "Such a sweet little thing, why did she have to get cancer?" sighs Velvet. "It's not right." She then goes off with her attendants to enjoy some lunch and a much-needed bathroom break. While she happily sits and eats her nice daisy salad with raspberry dressing, she is approached by the young mare that plays Marice.

"How's it going, Velv?" asks the young mare, whose name is Carolina Rose.

"It's going well, thanks," responds Velvet with a smile. "Why don't you come take a seat?"

"Thanks," responds Carolina Rose, "it's nice of you to invite me to sit with you as I'm fairly new to the park."

"We're all family," responds Velvet, "don't mention it."

A few hours later, the two part ways. Velvet goes off with the other princesses to the Princess Lunch and Carolina Rose goes off to find the White Bunny and the Twinkle Twins. At the princess lunch, Snow Veil happily signs autographs for every little filly and colt in the room including the little filly with cancer whom she soon learns is named Miracle. After she signs the little book, Miracle embraces her in a hug and she hugs her back. Velvet then gets up and goes and signs autographs and takes pictures with the other guests and even dances with some of them. A few minutes later, Lumus and Cogstwist enter the room with the carts of food and begin to sing for the guests. As the two sing, the little foals clap and sing along right along with them. They are then followed soon after by all the respective princes who then split and meet up with their princesses. The couples then dance right in front of the guests as they take pictures before going around and talking with the guests once again.

Three hours later, the lunch comes to an end and all the princes and princesses go back on break including Velvet. While on break, Velvet is approached by a stallion named Drake that plays Prince Neighvene. The two then share a nice hello then begin to talk. "So," says Velvet with a smile, "you and Tianamare did great today. We're glad to have you two as part of our Disneigh family."

"Awe, thanks," responds Drake blushing. "That means a lot coming from a long timer like you, Velvet."

"Wait, I need to be honest with you here," says Velvet, "I'm also fairly new. I've only been here for two weeks."

"Wait! Really?" asks Drake shocked.

"Really," responds Velvet. "I took over when Tria left. She was the original Snow Veil before I took over."

"Well, I'm glad to hear that, actually," responds Drake. "That takes some of the pressure off of me and Ti." He then runs off to meet up with his marefriend Tilly who plays Tianamare. Velvet then gets up and goes and sits by the fountain for a little bit before returning to her photo pass stop for the second round of pictures. It is her favorite part after all.

A few hours later, Snow Veil heads off to meet up with the others and start the parade. A few minutes later, she gets on the woodland float and into place. The other princesses and princes then get onto their respective floats and the parade begins. As the floats move through the square, Velvet sees little Miracle in the audience atop her father's shoulders. A smile appears on her face as she waves to everypony around her and as she does so she sees Miracle wave back with a massive smile on her face.

Two hours later, the parade comes to an end and the princes and princesses go back on their break. While there, the girls talk about all sorts of things including Drake and Tilly's engagement. Tilly then brings up the idea that she should set Velvet up on a date with the newest ticket booth worker in the park, Nightlight. "I'm not sure I should do that," says Velvet cautiously, "but thanks for the thought."

"No problem," responds Tilly with a smile, "just think about it though."

"Okay," sighs Velvet. "I'll think about it."

Two hours later, all the mares part ways. Tilly goes and meets up with Drake to go to their photo pass in New Mareleans Square. Velvet goes to do the Snow Veil and the Seven Dwarflings theater show in Fantasy World. As she does the show, Velvet sees little Miracle in the audience cheering her on. That brings a smile to Velvet's face as she continues to do the show. She's so grateful to make this little filly so happy. To her, that is the most meaningful thing so far.

A few weeks later, Velvet and the others learn of little Miracle's passing. As she hears this news, Velvet breaks into tears. "She, she was just so young, why did cancer have to claim such a young life?"

"It's just how it goes. Cancer is a terrible disease that takes so many lives. That's just reality, even so, we can do one thing to help," responds Tilly, "we can create a fund for the Ponyville Cancer Center in Miracle's name. Does that sound good?"

"Mmhmm," responds Velvet as she wipes away the remaining tears. "That sounds like a good idea."

A few minutes later, the mares walk off together to do yet another princess lunch. At the princess lunch, the mares happily play with the younger guests, sing with them, and even dance with them. While Velvet enjoys herself during the lunch, she can't help but be weighed down by the news about Miracle. She knows that it's not her fault, but it's still hard on her just the same. Two hours later, the lunch comes to an end and the princesses go back on their break. While on her break this time around, Velvet goes and sits down in the little princess lounge area and just cries for a few minutes and then she goes and gets cleaned up for her next photo pass session. While in the photo pass session, Velvet is approached by Miracles mother, father, and older sister, Linette.

"Hey," says Velvet to the three ponies, "I'm sorry for your loss. Miracle was such a sweet filly."

"Yeah," responds Miracle's mother, "she absolutely loved you. You definitely made her last few days alive the best days ever."

"Awe, well thanks, I'm honored," responds Velvet with a smile. "I will tell you this, we did create a fund at the Ponyville Cancer Center in her name called the Miracle Fund."

"That's great, thank you," responds Miracle's mother. The two then share a hug and then Velvet takes a picture with Miracle's mother, father, and Linette. They then share a nice thank you and continue on their way while Velvet takes pictures with the rest of the ponies in the line. After two hours of photo pass picture taking, Velvet goes on her next break before the parade that night.

While on her break, Velvet pulls out the picture of her and miracle and just smiles. She then sticks it back in the pocket on the underside of her dress and then heads off to get ready for the parade. While on the way to the parade, Velvet runs into Nightlight but just shrugs it off and runs past him, soon arriving at her float and hopping on. As he stands there in shock, Nightlight just stands with his jaw dropped. He then returns to the ticket booth where he works and sighs. "She is the most gorgeous mare I've ever seen, but she'd never date a little ticket colt like me." He then gets back to reloading the ticket machines and restocking the wristbands and Disneigh bands. As he does so, all he can think about is Snow Veil. If only he could meet her one on one, but that's foolish he thinks to himself. Somepony with a role like that would never get together with a lower status worker within the parks and Nightlight will just have to learn to live with that. Even so, he'll never get her off his mind.

Three months later, Tilly and Drake get married by the Disneigh Mason Mouse statue. The two then exchange rings and then get back to work at that day's annual Disneigh Character Brunch. At the Disneigh Character Brunch, all the princesses, princes, and other characters walk around and interact with the guests. As the food comes around and everypony gets their servings, the princesses and princes begin to sing as do the rest of the characters. As the guest eat, the characters and royal characters come around and sign autographs and take pictures. After the two-hour brunch comes to an end, Velvet walks to her photo pass stop but not before running into Nightlight who is on an errand for his boss. "Hey, excuse me," says Velvet sweetly. "You dropped your ticket wheel." She bows down and picks it up for him. She then hands it to him.

"Thanks," he says with a blush. He then grabs the roll and heads on his way. "I can't believe she actually noticed me, Velvet actually noticed me," he sighs. He then returns to his boss with the roll of tickets who takes them from him and sends him back to the wristband station. There, he hands out wristbands to guests as they give him their bits, all the while thinking about Velvet.

"Nightlight!" hollers his boss from the back. "Stop daydreaming and get back to work, pretty boy!"

"Yes, yes sir," responds Nightlight snapping back to reality. He then gets back to handing wristbands out to the ponies that are waiting for theirs, slightly pissed.

Meanwhile, over at the photo pass stop, Velvet happily takes pictures with the eager young colts and fillies and even with some sweet dating and married couples. She ends up taking pictures with two hundred something ponies within the two-hour time span. She then goes back on her break and this time, she goes and visits Nightlight's place of work in the park.

"Hey Nightlight," says Velvet as she approaches his place at the wristband station at the ticket booth. "How's it going?"

"It's going well," responds Nightlight. "How's your day going?"

"Fun as always," responds Velvet with a smile. "Being a princess is definitely a fun job and definitely one I'll never regret taking."

"Well, that's good," responds Nightlight nervously. "Do you, I dunno, wanna go out on a date sometime?"

"Well, I'm busy every single day of the week," responds Velvet, "but I do get off in a few weeks for a family vacation with my mother and older sister if you wanna tag along. Does that sound good?"

"Sure!" responds Nightlight excitedly. "That would be great! Where are you going?"

"The Mareiano Islands," responds Velvet. "I'll see you then."

"Okay, see you then," responds Nightlight. He then watches as Velvet walks off back to the photo pass station for her next round of photos.

Meanwhile, over in another part of the park, Snow Veil's Dwarflings are happily greeting ponies as they enter the Mine Cart ride. All the Dwarflings greet them perfectly in character including Ditzy, staying quiet as a mouse the entire time. Everything goes off without a hitch and soon everypony is on the ride and on their way around the coaster.

Back over at the photo pass, Velvet is soon approached by Nightlight as he is now on his break. "Hey," he says with a smile. "Can I get a picture with you?"

"Uh, sure," responds Velvet. She then happily takes a picture with him and gives it to him. He then sits down on the bench outside of the photo pass and watches as she gets back to taking pictures with the other ponies that are in the line. As he watches her take pictures with the guests, he lets out a sigh.

"She's so beautiful," he says with a smile. "It's definitely going to be fun hanging out with her and her family in a few weeks time. I can't wait." He then gets up and goes and gets some lunch after saying a sweet goodbye to her. Once he's done with his lunch, he returns back to his station at the ticket booth. All the while he can't help but think about Velvet and how much fun he's going to have with her in a few weeks time.

A few months later, Velvet is heading off to her photo pass stop when she hears whining and screaming coming from Marepunzel's photo pass. "Ew, ew, ew, there's a rat up my dress!" she screams. Velvet then goes running towards her friend.

"What's going on?" asks Velvet concerned.

"There's a rat up my dress," screeches Marepunzel. "Get it out! Get it out! Get it out!"

"Go on to your photo pass Miss Velvet," says Marepunzel's character attendant, Holly Hocks. Velvet nods and walks down the way to her photo pass. All the while, she can't help but listen to Marepunzel's screams and see the terrified look on her face as she walks away.

A few hours later, the rat is gotten out of Marepunzel's dress and a new Marepunzel has taken over for the rest of the day while the normal one gets over the shock of having a rat up her dress. After her day comes to an end, Velvet takes Marepunzel out for ice cream. The two then share a hug and part ways for the night. Marepunzel goes home while Velvet heads out on her date with Nightlight.

That night while on their date, Velvet turns up in a gorgeous red and silver dress. "Wow!" says Nightlight jaw-dropped, "you look amazing." He then gets up and pulls out her chair for her and she sits down. He then returns to his seat.

"So, how do you like working in Disneigh?" asks Velvet with a smile.

"I enjoy it, but I only got the job because my dad is one of their best workers," responds Nightlight.

"Cool, what does your dad do for Disneigh?" asks Velvet curiously.

"He is an animator and colorists," responds Nightlight. "It's a cool job. What's it like being a Disneigh Princess?"

"It's fun," responds Velvet. "I enjoy making children happy. It's the best feeling in the world to me."

"Well, it sounds like fun," responds Nightlight with a laugh. "I want to be an animator myself one day or an astronomer. That would also be cool."

"Yeah, well go for it," responds Velvet with a smile.

A few minutes later, the two order drinks. Velvet gets a glass of sweet apple juice while Nightlight gets an apple beer. The two then order their meals. Velvet gets the dish titled "Dandelion Daisy Royale" which is a fried flower dish with a creamy yet spicy caramel apple sauce while Nightlight gets the Big Fabius, which is a five-pound hayburger topped with dandacon (dandelion bacon) and onion rings.

About ten minutes later, the two get their food. They then begin to eat their meals, talking every few bites. After they finish their meals, Nightlight begins to explain his future plans to her. "Velvet," sighs Nightlight, "I think I want to go to the Canterlot College of the Stars and Space Institute. I don't like my boss and my dad has enough to pay for me to go."

"Well, go then," sighs Velvet sadly, "if you want to really pursue this."

"I do, and thanks for understanding," responds Nightlight as he kisses her on the lips.

Three weeks later, Nightlight enrolls in Canterlot College of the Stars and Space Institute and moves to Canterlot full time, now living with his Uncle Orion and Aunt North Star. The next day, he gets all his supplies then begins going to classes the beginning of that following week.

Meanwhile, back in Disneigh World, Velvet continues to work as the princess Snow Veil, and she can't help but think about Nightlight all the while. "I never would've thought I'd miss him this much," she sighs to herself as she heads off to meet up with the rest of the Disneigh Princesses for the Princess Lunch. As she works the lunch, Velvet's mind continues to wander to thoughts of Nightlight but she just ignores them and continues to sign autographs and take pictures with the children, all the while smiling as she continues to force away the tears. A few hours later, the lunch comes to an end and Velvet goes on break with the other princesses and princes. In their break area, Velvet begins to cry. "I miss him so much, I miss Nightlight so much," she cries.

"What? Where'd he go?" responds Marepunzel.

"He went to the Canterlot College of the Stars and Space Institute," sniffles Velvet, "to study astronomy."

"Well, you just have to be strong," responds Marepunzel as she puts her hoof on Velvet's shoulder.

"I guess so," responds Velvet.

A few minutes later, the princesses head off to their separate photo pass stations to do pictures with the children in the park for several hours before that afternoon's Celestia Day Parade. As she takes pictures with the children and some young couples, Velvet continues to think about Nightlight.

Meanwhile, in Canterlot, Nightlight can't help but think about Velvet too. "Why didn't I ask her to marry me before I moved?" he sighs to himself while on one of his breaks in between classes. "Why didn't I? I don't know. I guess I'll just have to ask her when I graduate." He then heads off to his next class because he hears it's one that he needs to always be early too.

As he sits in class alongside the other students, he can't help but think about Velvet as he works on his notes. His teacher soon notices this. "Why you daydreaming?" he says as he slams his hoof down on the desk in front of Nightlight.

"Oh, sorry, my mind can't help but think of my girlfriend back home," responds Nightlight.

"I understand that, but it's time to focus on class, okay," responds his teacher.

"Okay," responds Nightlight. He then gets back to writing his notes as the professor gets back to teaching. After two hours, the class comes to an end for the day and Nightlight heads off to his next class. In there, Nightlight befriends another stallion his age named Lightning Dash. The two soon become the best of friends and Lightning ends up getting Nightlight's mind off of Velvet for the time being. For that, he doesn't know whether to be grateful or not, but right now, he honestly doesn't care. He's just glad to have a friend to help him get through these next five years of college.

A few days later, Velvet gets her first letter from Nightlight and reads them during her breaks. During one break in particular, she gets a very special letter and reads it aloud. "Dear Velv," reads Velvet, "I am enjoying Canterlot a lot but I miss you so much. I have some friends here, but they can't fill the void you leave in my heart. The Midnight Festival is close, though, and I plan on coming home to visit you for that. We do get that day off after all. As for my classes, they're going great. I've aced every test, answered every question correctly. It's great. I think I'm my professor's favorite. After all, like I said before I ace everything, answer every question correctly, and even arrive right on the dot to every class I have. Aren't you impressed? I can't wait to see you again. I love you, my dear. Your Nightlight."

A few minutes later, break comes to an end and Velvet heads off to do a Disneigh Princess Lunch. At the lunch, Velvet is approached by a young filly named Unity, who has brainus fillius. "Hi," says Unity sweetly to Velvet. "Can I take a picture with you? You're my fav'rit princess."

"Of course," responds Velvet with a smile. She then kneels down by the little filly and the filly's mother, Honeysuckle, takes the picture. Velvet then signs the little filly's autograph book and fills in a sweet little note too. Little Unity then embraces her in a great big hug before returning to their seats with her mother. "What a sweet filly," sighs Velvet. "I hope she doesn't die from it like other children diagnosed with the disability so often do. Hooves crossed."

A few hours later, the Disneigh Princess Lunch comes to an end and Velvet goes off to her photo pass stop. There, she is approached by a young colt, who hands her a drawing he did of her. "Here," says the little colt, "I made this for you, Snow Veil. You'll always be my favorite princess."

"Thanks," responds Velvet with a giggle, "it's a lovely picture. I'll keep it forever." She then takes the photo pass picture with him and his mother. The two then go happily on their way and Velvet puts the artwork in the pouch under her dress.

A few minutes later, Velvet is approached by one of the managers in the park and a young mare about twenty or so. "Snow Veil," says the manager, Flintlock, "come here." Velvet nods and comes over to him.

"What, boss?" asks Velvet.

"This is Evening Mist," says Flintlock, "she's going to be your cast member. She's new, so don't be too hard on her."

"Yes sir," says Velvet. "Have a good day." Flintlock then walks off and leaves Evening Mist with Velvet.

"So," says Evening Mist, "I can't believe I've been assigned to my all time favorite princess!" She squeals a little bit.

"Okay," says Velvet, "breathe. Calm down. You can't squeal like that. Your job is to help the guests know how to talk to me and keep up a conversation with me. Okay?"

"Okay, sorry," says Evening Mist, "I'm just so excited is all."

"That's understandable," responds Velvet with a smile, "just do your best to contain it."

The two then get back to work with everyone in line for the photo pass and they get them through smoothly to their delight. It's truly been a perfect day and Velvet can't wait to tell Nightlight everything.

That night in her home, Velvet sits down at her desk and pulls out a scroll and her favorite purple quill and begins to write to Nightlight. "Dear Nightlight," says Velvet as she writes, "everything is going well here. I met a little filly named Unity today and she has brainus fillius. She was just the sweetest little thing. I also got a drawing from a sweet little colt today. It was so precious. I have a new cast member working with me now named Evening Mist and she's very excitable to say the least. Actually, that's an understatement. She's extremely excitable. I enjoy getting your letters, my love. Yours forever, Twilight Velvet." She then sends it off to him bright and early the next morning. All she can do is hope he responds to it not long after he gets it. Hooves crossed.

A few weeks later, it's the day of the Midnight Festival as Nightlight strolls through Disneigh until he finds Velvet at last. "Hey Velv," he says as he walks up to her.

"Hey hon," responds Velvet, "how's college going?"

"It's going well," responds Nightlight, "but I'm glad to be home."

"And I'm glad to have you back," responds Velvet with a smile. "But right now, I need to get through with photopass. I'll meet up with you after that."

"Okay," responds Nightlight with a smile, "I understand." He then walks off for a little bit, but never wandering too far from Velvet's photopass location.

A few hours later, her photopass ends for the night and Velvet goes and meets up with Nightlight for about an hour before the Midnight Festival Parade. Over their hour together, the two get milkshakes and share jokes and stories together. A few minutes later, she guides him to the front of the crowd before going to get on her float for the parade along with the Evil Queen and the Huntspony. About a half hour after that, the parade begins. As he stands in the crowd along with the others, Nightlight can't help but smile and cheer as he sees Velvet's float approach. As the float approaches, Velvet and the other cast members wave to the crowd sophistically. A few minutes later, the The Little Mermare float approaches with Mariel waving and sending kisses to the crowd. Not long after that, a parade of the Seven Dwarfs approach followed by Jasmare and Shaladdin on their magic carpet float alongside Genie. Not far behind them is Marepunzel atop her tower float alongside Flynn Flyer. Not far behind them is Moanamare and Mauistallion atop their float which is shaped like Mare Fiti. A few minutes later, Mareice and the White Bunnette romp down the street followed by the Queen of Hearts and Cheshire Kitten. Not long after they come by, the float holding M'aurora and Stallipp approaches, the two waving gladly with smiles on their faces to the crowd. Not long behind them is Tianamare and Neighvene on their bayou themed float. Not long after them comes the Mareanna and Elsamare float followed Mulamare. Not far behind them are Mareabelle and the Beast, waving to the ponies from their float. Soon after them, Megaramare and Hercubuff come romping through. Not far behind them comes Mareselle, singing and waving to all the adoring fans. Not long behind them comes Marevellope von Gum Drops followed right behind by Mareficent on her dragon float. Not far behind her comes Mareida on a giant bear float. Soon after them comes Mr. and Mrs. Incredifoals followed by their children, all in their superhero costumes. Right behind them are Miguel and Hector from the movie Mare Coco, whose arrival causes a massive erupt in applause. To close out the parade, Edna Mare comes through on a massive lounge float, calling everyone Darling, Darling as she goes by. A few minutes after that, the fireworks begin and are quite a spectacle to see. It truly has been the best Midnight Festival Nightlight's been to in awhile and it's not just because his fiancee is Snow Veil.

A few days later, Nightlight and Velvet are on a stroll after the park closes for the night. "Do you have to leave tomorrow? I don't want you to go," says Velvet with a frown. "Besides, when are we going to tie the knot?"

"Once I graduate college, love," responds Nightlight. "I promise."

"Okay," responds Velvet. She then nuzzles her nose into Nightlight's shoulder. The two then soon arrive at Velvet's apartment and he drops her off after sharing a kiss.

A few minutes after getting back from her time with Nightlight, Velvet gets a call from her mother. "Oh hey mom," says Velvet over the phone. "How have you been?"

"I'm doing good," responds her mother, "how are you? You have a date for the wedding yet?"

"No," grumbles Velvet, "we're getting married after he graduates from college."

"Oh, okay," responds her mother. "Just as long as you're happy, Velvet, I'm happy."

"I know, mom," responds Velvet. "How's Aura? I miss her, I miss my little sis."

"She's good, want me to put her on?" Responds her mother.

"Yes," responds Velvet. Her mother then gets off and puts her sister on.

"Hey big sis," says Aura with a smile, "it's nice to talk to you again. You having fun working at Disneigh?"

"Yeah," responds Velvet with a smile. "Thanks for asking. Being Snow Veil is so much fun. Are you still painting and drawing like you used to when we were little fillies?"

"Yep," responds Aura, "I have my first art show on Saturday."

"Congrats!" Velvet replies with a smile. "I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks, that means a lot coming from you," responds Aura sweetly. "I'm also doing another show in three months as well."

"Well, I'm proud of you," responds Velvet. "I'd love to see you again at some point. Maybe I can get you flown out here with mom for Hearthswarming. Wouldn't that be fun?"

"Yeah! That would be so much fun!" Responds Aura. "And I'll let you know how my art shows go."

"Okay," giggles Velvet, "can't wait to hear about them. Bye."

"Bye," responds Aura. She then hangs up the phone. Velvet goes and sets the phone down by her bed and hops in the shower.

As she showers, Velvet hums "Whistle While You Work" to herself. After a half hour, she hops out of the shower and dries off. She then goes and plops on the bed, where she sees a missed call from Nightlight on her phone. She then calls the number. "Hey Nightlight, sorry I missed your call. I was in the shower."

"Oh, it's fine," responds Nightlight. "You doing good?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. What time do you leave out tomorrow?"

"5:00 AM," responds Nightlight.

"Wow, that's early," responds Velvet with a giggle.

"Yeah," giggles Nightlight. "But I'll see you for Hearthswarming in five months."

"Yeah, I know," responds Velvet, "you'll love the way Disneigh does the Hearthswarming Parade."

"I bet," responds Nightlight. "Goodnight."

"Night," responds Velvet. She then listens as he hangs up the phone. Velvet then puts down her phone and falls asleep for the night. Tomorrow, she'll ask if she can fly down her mother and sister for Hearthswarming in five months time. She can't wait, yet at the same time can't help but be a little nervous.

Five months later, Velvet flies in her mother and sister for Hearthswarming and Nightlight returns home to the parks and to the love of his life. "Hello dearest," he says as he kisses Velvet on the cheek.

"Sister!" Velvet soon hears coming from the gate. She then runs over and embraces her sister in a hug. "I made you this," says Aura as she hands a painting to her sister.

"Thank you," responds Velvet as she takes the painting from her sister with her magic. "I love it."

"I'm glad," responds Aura. Velvet then walks into the park with her mother, sister, and boyfriend. A few moments later, she runs off and gets into costume before hopping onto her float backstage. "About time, Miss Velvet," groans her float's manager. "It's only ten minutes till start."

"Sorry," responds Velvet with a nervous grin, "I was just seeing my mother and sister."

"It's fine, at least you're not completely late," moans her manager as he roles his eyes and wanders off to make sure the mechanics of the float are working properly.

Meanwhile in the crowd, Aura, Velvet's mother, and Nightlight are in the very front row. Aura is wearing a Snow Veil shirt. "Somepony inspired by her big sis, huh?" asks Nightlight.

"Yeah," sighs Aura. "She means everything to me. I wanna be just like her someday."

"Yeah, who wouldn't want to be like her?" Nightlight whispers to himself yet accidentally out loud.

"You want to marry my sister, don't you?" asks Aura.

"You're a smart filly, and yes, yes I do," sighs Nightlight. "Oh so very much."

"Then why haven't you asked her yet?" asks Aura confused.

A few moments later, the parade begins. Aura cheers as she sees her sister's float come into view. Nightlight cheers right along with them before looking down at a box with a ring inside on his hoof. He then closes it and gets back to cheering. "Later, after the parade," he sighs. After five hours, the massive parade comes to an end and Nightlight runs off to find Velvet.

At her float, Velvet is shocked to come down to Nightlight awaiting her. "What are you doing back here?" she asks puzzled. "This is for performing cast members only."

"Well, can we go somewhere private then?" asks Nightlight.

"Fine," responds Velvet. She then leads him to a private, unused abandoned stage. "Now what did you want to ask me?"

He then gets down on one knee and pulls out the ring. "Velvet? Will you marry me?"

"Yes!" she exclaims as she takes the ring from him and slips it around her hoof after attaching it to a spare ribbon that she found on the floor as she didn't want it to show under her wig by hanging around her horn.

"So, when do you want to start planning this thing?" Velvet asks Nightlight curiously.

"Well, whenever you want, my love. You're the love of my life. When you're ready, we'll do this," responds Nightlight with a smile.

"Good," responds Velvet as she gives him a hug and a kiss, "but I need to get back to my shift."

"Okay, go enjoy yourself, my princess," responds Nightlight with a bow. Velvet laughs before going on her way.

Meanwhile, backstage, Velvet is greeted by several hugs and congratulations from her friends and coworkers upon telling them the good news. "That's absolutely marevelous!" exclaims Marepunzel.

"Extremely good news," chimes Mareselle.

"Agreed," adds Mareida with a smile as she aims her bow and shoots an arrow at a tree on the set backstage.

"Thanks girls," responds Velvet blushing. "I couldn't be any more happy than I already am."

"Are you going to have it in the park or not? Are we gonna be your bridesmares?" Asks Marevellope curiously.

"I don't know yet," responds Velvet. "We just got engaged today. We haven't even started planning yet."

"Well, promise to let us know?" ask the girls.

"Of course," responds Velvet with a smile.

Meanwhile elsewhere in the park, Nightlight is hanging out on the rides with Aura and Velvet's mother. "So did you ask sis yet? If you did, what'd she say?" asks Aura curiously, eyes wide.

"Yes, I asked her," responds Nightlight, "and she said yes." Aura lets out a squeal.

"About time," responds Velvet's mom. "She doesn't shut up about you over the phone."

"Really?" responds Nightlight. "That's so sweet."

"You mean romantic," sighs Aura.

"That too, goofball," responds Nightlight with a giggle as he rustles her mane with his hoof. "Oh, that too." He lets out a sigh as he whispers to himself. "I can't believe I'm going to marry the love of my life. I'm the luckiest stallion in the world." He perches his head on the Ferris wheel seat. "I really and truly am."

It’s an early morning before work one day when Velvet has the bridal shower with her coworkers, her best mare friends in the world. She also tells them the good news that sends them squealing. “Each and every one of you gals is a bridesmare in my wedding. I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

“We’re elates!” Squeal the mares. “We can’t believe you’re getting married, Velv! Now how about some fun games?”

“Like what?” Velvet inquires.

“Charades, take a shot, the middle name game,” respond the mares.

“What’s the middle name game?” Velvet inquires.

“Just as it sounds, share your middle name, most embarrassing wins,” responds Marielle.

“Oh, okay,” responds Velvet. “Guess I’ll go first. Mine is Rosida.”

“That’s cute,” responds Marevellope. “Mine is Cartwheel.”

“Mine is Sure Shot,” responds Mareida.

“Mine is Conch,” responds Marielle.

“Mine is Brushstroke,” responds Marepunzel.

“Mine is Tinker,” responds Mareabelle.

“Mine is Briar,” responds M’aurora.

“Mine is Blissful,” responds Tianamare.

“Mine is Denial,” responds Megaramare with a snark.

“Mine is Dragon,” responds Mulanamare.

“Mine is Snowflake,” responds Elsamare.

“Mine is White Strand,” responds Mareanna.

“Mine is Glass,” responds Cindermarella.

“Mine is Goldenrod,” responds Marealice.

“Mine is Sapphire,” responds Jasmare.

“Mine is Polly,” responds Moanamare.

“Cool, well this was fun, but it’s work time,” Velvet finally responds. The girls then go their separate ways to their placements in the park for pre-parade hours. They’ll see each other again soon for the midnight parade in several hours.

The next day since the park was closed, mom and Aura along with my fellow princesses decided to take me out shopping for a wedding dress. I don’t know why mom insisted I not use hers. It’s honestly still a mystery to me to this day, but I went. I spent the entire morning trying on dresses but none of them suited me. Why couldn’t they be simple compared to my work gown? I had no idea. All I wanted was a simple gown that was still elegant and flowy. That’s it. That’s all I wanted.

“Makes sense,” responds Twilight. “You didn’t have a Rarity to make them to order like Cadence and I do.”

“Yeah,” sighs Velvet. “So I kept looking, determined more than ever to find my dream dress.”

“Then what, gramma?” Asks Flurry curiously.

“I found it three weeks later at a vintage dress store while on a day off,” Velvet responds. “It was truly perfect. It was my dream dress. I bought it and brought it home that same day. Fixed it up. Added a bit of my own flare with mom and Aura’s help.”

The next day back at work, I showed it to my best friends, my coworkers and they loved it as much as I did. I was thrilled. The next step was finding them suitable bridesmare dresses to match. That was going to be a bit of a challenge but none of us cared. We were in it together forever. For the long haul. We always enjoyed a good challenge.

After seven weeks of looking, we finally find the perfect bridesmare dresses to go with my dress. Needless to say they’re as thrilled as I am.

Over the following months, Velvet and Nightlight begin planning their wedding. They laugh, joke, and play games as they plan things late into the night. “I can’t wait to marry you,” says Velvet as she shares a kiss with her beloved Nightlight.

“And I can’t wait to marry you,” Nightlight responds blushing and with a smile. “Do you have any idea for location or a date?”

“I want to do it here, at Disneigh. Date-wise, why not the day we first met?”

“Works for me, anything to make you happy, Velv,” responds Nightlight. The two share another kiss.

A few hours later, the two head off to work and then go their separate ways in the park. Velv goes to the Princess Hall while Nightlight goes to the ticket booths to await the arrival of the day’s guests including the Miracle Fund foals. An hour after that, the park opens and is flooded by visitors and the Miracle Fund colts and fillies. The Miracle Fund foals then head straight to meet the princesses especially Snow Veil who is Velvet’s character. Velv then happily greets the smiling foals. “Hello all you little princes and princesses,” Velv says with a smile.

“Hello, Princess Snow Veil,” say all the foals giggling and smiling. They then give her a great big hug. Velvet can’t help but smile. When she sees them, she thinks about her beloved Miracle and can’t help but tear up a little bit. These foals really mean a lot to her. She wishes she could do more for them.

That night after the park closes, Velvet changes and sneaks Nightlight onto the dragon boats and the two talk and share kisses and discuss more wedding plans. The two spend about an hour in the park before eventually parting ways and going to their homes. When Velvet arrives home, she is greeted by her mother.

“Late night wedding planning, dearest?” Her mom inquires.

“Yes,” responds Velvet. She doesn’t want to tell her mom they stayed overtime just to hang out in the park after its closing for the night. “Now I’m off to bed. I’m tired.” She heads off to her room and turns in for the night being careful not to disturb a sleeping Aura. Alas, as soon as she hears her sister enter the room, the filly pops awake.

“Hey sis!” Squeals the filly. “Finally home from hanging out with Nightlight?”

“Yeah, now go back to bed,” says Velvet with a sigh, snort, and roll of her eyes. Aura nods and goes back to bed. Velvet then hops into bed herself and falls fast asleep and happily dreams of her wedding day she’ll soon be having with Nightlight in the coming months.

The next day at the park, Velvet is immediately greeted by Nightlight before he starts his first shift of the day. “Hey sweetest, you up for more wedding planning tonight?” He inquires as he gives her a kiss.

“Always,” giggles Velvet, “but right now, I need to get into costume. We have our big show parade tonight, Light Up the Night, so we won’t be doing planning until extra late, but I’ll see you then.”

“See you then,” responds Nightlight. He then heads towards the ticket booth and starts setting it up for the day and Velvet heads to the princess hall where she soon gets into costume and they are given the run down for the night’s parade.

“For tonight,” says the princesses’ manager Spotting Glow, “you will all have special costumes. Special dresses and tiaras that light up.” He continues explaining for several minutes before sending the mares out into the park to their stations. As she heads to hers, Velvet can’t help but feel all giddy inside. She hopes Nightlight enjoys the night’s festivities even if it means them not getting to do as much wedding planning. He can at least enjoy the show she’s been working on for months with her fellow cast members.

Soon enough the gates open and ponies come flooding in, fillies and colts there on a school field trip and even more Miracle Fund foals. All of them head straight towards the princess hall. As they come rushing in, Velvet hears a familiar peep. The school that’s there on field trip is her little sister’s school, that’s right. “Hey princess,” says the voice. “My name is Aura. I’m here with my school. You’re my favorite princess, Snow Veil!”

“Well, thank you kindly,” responds Velvet. The two then take a picture together, a good keepsake for their mother. The little filly then joins back in with her class as they visit the remaining princesses. Velvet totally forgot the field trip was that day, so seeing her little sister was honestly a welcome surprise. She can’t wait for her to see the Light Up the Night show either. She definitely knows her mom plans on coming.

The day continues on as normal, Velvet taking pictures with every Miracle Fund filly and colt and with every foal there on a field trip with school. Around 9:00 that night, everything shifts and Velvet heads off to change into her special gown for the Light Up the Night Show along with the other princesses and around 10:00, the festivities finally begin. As she looks out from the float, Velvet is happy to see her mother, sister, and her fiancé as well as all the Miracle Fund foals. She’s thrilled they were all able to make it. She smiles as she and the other princesses sing as they galavant and trot through the streets and atop the float. It truly is a perfect night. An hour later, the parade finally ends and Velvet and the other princesses go change back into their civilian clothes and head their separate ways. Velvet is greeted at the door of the hall by her family and by Nightlight and they all head home for the night. As her sister is tucked in by her mother upstairs, Velvet and Nightlight quietly work on wedding planning downstairs until about 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning when they finally pass out on the couch. It has been an exhausting night for the couple and at 5:00, they have to head back to the park to start the day once again.

Around 5:00 that morning, the couple return to the park, share a kiss, then head their separate ways. Nightlight heads to the ticket booth while Velvet heads to the princess hall. There, she is greeted by her fellow princesses. “Y’all set a date yet? Two, do we get to be your bridesmares?” Inquire the mares.

“Of course y’all get to be my bridesmares and yes, we just set the date last night after the light up show. It’s in May of next year,” responds Velvet with a proud, happy, excited smile. The other mares get more giddy as they embrace their friend in a hug. They all then head into the dressing rooms and get into their costumes. At 8:00, they head to their stations and the park officially opens up at 9:00 and Miracle Fund foals flood the princess hall. Once again, Velvet takes pictures with each and every one of them as do the other princesses and the group as a whole. They even sign the autograph books for the smiling foals.

“This is your favorite part,” whispers Mareida to Snow Veil.

“Yeah,” whispers Velvet back with a sigh, “because I knew Miracle. She was such a sweet little filly.” The two then promptly stop whispering and get back to work. Around noon, the princesses head to their lunch break. Velvet eats fairly quickly then spends the rest of it with Nightlight. An hour later, she returns to the princess hall alongside the other princesses. After all, they have the princess lunch for the Miracle Fund foals within the next hour. Soon the hour rolls around and the mares make their way to the Ballroom Cafe where they head inside and begin interacting with the Miracle Fund foals, signing autographs, taking pictures with them among other things. Needless to say it’s the perfect afternoon an Velvet wouldn’t have it any other way.

At 10:00, the park finally closes for the night and the mares part ways. Velvet heads to meet up with Nightlight and they head to his house from there and work a little bit more on wedding planning. “You asked the girls to be your bridesmares today didn’t you?” Inquires Nightlight as they walk through the park and out to a taxi that they take to his house.

“Well, duh, yeah,” responds Velvet. “They’re like sisters to me.”

“That’s fair,” responds Nightlight. He smiles as he kisses her. “I can’t wait to marry you!” A few moments later, they arrive at his house and go inside. There, they are greeted by his mom. They say hey to her, grab a bite to eat for dinner, and head upstairs to work more on the wedding planning. Soon (but somehow still so far away it seems) they’ll be husband and wife and they can’t wait!

Sooner than expected, May of the next year rolls around and with it, so too does Velvet and Nightlight’s wedding and needless to say for the wedding party alone it’s a crowd as it’s park off hours so her fellow princesses can actually participate as her bridesmares and mares of honor. Her little sister is her flower filly too for the wedding. As the music begins to play, Nightlight stands proud at the alter as the procession makes its way down the aisle-Velvet’s sister, the bridesmares and mares of honor, then finally the bride herself decked out in a light violet colored wedding gown with matching ribbons decking her mane. It’s a princess style dress, puffed sleeves, pearls sewn into the fabric, perfect for their fairytale wedding. As he sees her come towards him, Nightlight’s jaw drops. “She’s gorgeous in that dress, dang, like an Angel,” he whispers to one of his groomscolts. Soon, she’s in front of him. “You look stunning, my love,” he says to her, “like the princess you are and the princess you always have been.”

“Okay, save it for the vows,” the priest speaks up. He then begins his speech. “We are gathered here today to unite these two ponies in holy maretrimony, Twilight Velvet, everypony’s favorite princess and Nightlight, the humble ticket pony. It’s a tale as old as time, a poem as dear as a sonnet. We are blessed to be doing this right where it all began: the magical world of the Disneigh Parks, the lights of the rides as the ambiance. Love is a true gift, powerful and strong in its own right. Love can destroy anything evil that it dares to touch and can make it good. You can now state your vows.” The pair nods and Nightlight says his first.

“Velvet, from the day we first met, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. I remember the first time I saw you in the princess hall, on the parade floats, the first time you visited me at my station at the ticket booth. I remember when I first asked you out, hardly believing it when you told me yes, but look at where we are now. You make my life complete and make me more happy than I’ve ever been in my life.”

Velvet then begins her vows. “Nightlight, you have been a blessing in my life ever since you first came into it. I had a crush on you ever since you first started working in the part, and the girls saw it as glaringly obvious. Then we started dating and I knew then that you completed me, it was also a nice bonus that you quickly became a favorite with my little sister as well. You complete me and I’m happier, more me when I’m with you.”

“Okay, now that the vows are said,” says the priest. “Nightlight, have the ring ready and repeat after me: Twilight Velvet.”

“Twilight Velvet,” says Nightlight.

“I promise to take you as my bride.”

“I promise to take you as my bride.”

“In sickness and in health.”

“In sickness and in health.”

“To protect and care for.”

“To protect and care for.”

“As long as we both shall live.”

“As long as we both shall live.” He then slips the ring on her horn with his magic.

“Okay, Velvet,” your turn says the priest to Velvet. “Have the ring ready.” He then does them once again with her and sure enough soon she slips the ring over his horn with her magic. Not long after, the priest says the final words: “you may kiss your bride.” With that, Nightlight takes Velvet in his arms and kisses her. With that, they run off and hop on the Ferris wheel and ride to the top where they share another kiss under the fireworks. A Pegasus cameraman takes pictures of them from his spot in the sky. Once down from the Ferris wheel, the two head to the ballroom where they cut their cake and shove it in each other’s faces with their hooves. Cameraponies on both sides catch pictures from all angles. They then clean up and do their dance. Nightlight even shares a dance with her little sister as well as one with both her and her sister. Pictures are taken of all of it. Later that night, they head out on their honeymoon after Velvet tells her stand-in how to pull off a perfect Snow Veil. The pair then head out in a carriage with a just married sign hanging on the bottom of its backside. They’ve had their fairytale wedding and they can’t wait for what’s next to come!”

One night while on their honeymoon, while they’re sitting at dinner, Nightlight has another surprise for Velvet. “Velvet, my love, I got accepted into the Canterlot School of Astrology. I applied late last year and I was finally accepted. So, what do you think?” He says nervously.

“I’m excited for you,” she squeals as she hugs him, “but what of my job? I love working in the park.”

“You still can if you want, you don’t have to quit for me,” responds Nightlight.

“Ok, you have no idea how glad I am to hear that,” sighs Velvet, “thank you.”

“Anything to keep you happy, my love. I’d do anything for you.” He kisses her on the cheek. She returns the kiss along with another hug. They then head off to explore the beaches of the Mareibbian. As they do, Nightlight collects conch shells for his bride and turns them into a necklace for her using his magic.

“Whoa! That’s cool!” Says Velvet in awe as he ties it around her neck with his magic. As they continue their walk, the waves crash against their hooves as they nuzzle each other close. They look around and see other couples doing the same. “I’m guessing other newlyweds too,” she whispers to her husband.

“Yeah, looks like,” agrees Nightlight with a whisper. “Now I’ll race you!” He begins running down the beach and Velvet runs after him at the best gallop she can possibly maintain.

Meanwhile back across the world at Disneigh, the princess ponies go about their day for Miracle Day at the park, the day where all the Miracle Foundation foals come and visit the park. The first one all those years ago was led by Velvet, so this year, it’s no different except for the fact that this year, Velvet is not around to lead the way, leaving Marepunzel and Mareida in charge of it all. “Well, here goes nothing, I hope we don’t disappoint Velv or let her down,” gulp the pair to their friends.

“You’ll be fine, I assure you,” says Mareanna as she pats her friends on the shoulder. “Velv left y’all in charge because she trusts you. She has faith in you.”

“Thanks for the reassurance,” respond the pair, “it’s much appreciated.” They let out a sigh and head to the opening gates of the park with their friends. There, they open the gate and the park floods with hundreds of Miracle Foundation foals. The festivities of the day then begin starting with a princess and prince hosted ballroom dancing lesson in the princess hall’s ballroom.

Meanwhile back in the Mareibbian, the two sit down on the sand and talk as the sun sets. “Today was Miracle Day at the park, I wonder how it went. I hope Marepunzel and Mareida weren’t too stressed out. I normally run the thing, ya know?”

“I know,” responds Nightlight as he wraps his arm around his wife, “I’m sure this was hard for you, letting go of the reins of something you started and founded in the park. The Miracle Foundation has helped so many colts and fillies. That’s amazing in its own right. You’ve changed so many lives.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” agrees Velvet as she nuzzles up on his shoulder. “I can’t wait to hear how it all went when I get back.” She lets out a sigh and turns to enjoy the sunset with her husband. Once the sun finally sets, they head to the bar and enjoy some cocktails and dessert. It’s shaping up to be the perfect honeymoon and for that, they couldn’t be more delighted.

A month later, Velvet returns to the park after seeing Nightlight off at the train station. “You sure you’ll be okay with me gone for several months?” Inquires Nightlight of his wife.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine, I promise,” she says as she hugs and kisses him goodbye. With that, Nightlight hops on the train and is off to Canterlot. Velvet waves as the train disappears from view. After it’s fully gone, she returns to Disneigh and gets into costume. As she does, she is bombarded with questions from her fellow princesses.

“How was the wedding? How was the honeymoon?” The others inquire.

“It was all absolutely amazing,” responds Velvet, “thanks for asking.”

“So where’s your other half?” Inquires Tianamare.

“He got accepted into the Canterlot Astrology School, I saw him off this morning,” responds Velvet.

“How long is he going to be away then?” Tianamare inquires once more.

“Several months, but it’ll be okay,” responds Velv.

A few minutes later, they’re given their five minute warning and when that’s over, the mares head out into their stations in the park. Mareida and Marepunzel alongside Mareanna and Elsamare head to their corner of the park while the other princesses disperse to their respective corners of the park themselves. Soon, Velvet arrives at her spot and immediately begins interacting with the eager line of foals. After seeing several foals, Velvet is approached by two familiar faces. “You’re Miracle’s parents, I remember you, remember your daughter,” responds Velvet, “I never forgot your daughter. She’s the reason I set up the Miracle Fund in the first place after all.”

“And we’re so grateful,” respond Miracle’s parents, “more than you know. That’s why we wanted to thank you in person.”

“Well, I’m grateful for that,” responds Velvet.

“And how have you been?” Inquires Miracle’s parents. “I see that ring you have chained around your neck.”

“Yeah, Nightlight and I finally got married,” responds Velvet. She talks with them a few more minutes before ushering them away so she can interact with the remaining foals before her lunch break. Two hours later, Velvet goes on her lunch break where she seeks and searches out Miracle’s parents and they continue to talk and catch up. They do so until Velvet’s lunch comes to an end and she returns to work.

Meanwhile at the Canterlot Train station, Nightlight makes his way off the train and into the city where he soon arrives at the Canterlot School of Astrology where he’s led inside by the dean and president of the school. “I’m Starshade,” says the dean. He’s a dark gray unicorn stallion with groggy eyes and a slivering mane and tail. “Welcome to the prestigious Canterlot School of Astrology, Nightlight.”

“Thank you, sir,” nods Nightlight. The president of the school then introduces himself.

“I’m Nightwalker,” says the light Gray unicorn stallion with a jet black mane and tail. “You’ll start in the morning alongside your peers.” The two stallions lead Nightlight to his dorm and let him get acquainted with his dorm mates.

“Hello,” says the slight unicorn stallion in front of Nightlight, “my name is Sol Everglow.”

“Nice to meet you,” responds Nightlight with a smile. The second stallion, the shyer of the two then introduces himself.

“My name is Astri,” says the stallion softly, absolutely scared by the unfamiliar stallion in front of him, “w…welcome.” Astri then disappears back behind Sol.

“He’s not much of a talker,” says Sol. He looks at the ring and chain around Nightlight’s neck, just now noticing it. “You married?”

“Yeah, newly,” responds Nightlight. “We met at Disneigh.”

“Which princess is she in the parks?” The stallion inquires curiously.

“Snow Veil,” responds Nightlight. “And she’s gosh darn amazing at it, the absolute best! Do you colts have significant others?”

“I did,” sighs Sol, “but she died from a brain tumor a few months ago.” He begins to tear up as he talks about it.

“Well, sorry for your loss,” responds Nightlight, “what was her name if you don’t mind me asking?”

“It was Daylight Sunflower,” responds Sol, “I called her Sunflower or Sunny for short. She was my everything. Next thing I knew, I was at her bedside in the hospital holding her hoof as she passed away right in front of me.” Sol breaks down into full blown tears at this point and Astri and Nightlight do what they can to comfort him. Eventually, he pulls himself together and Astri finally gets a chance to talk. Being the shy one, he didn’t want to interrupt his friend.

“Yeah, I have a marefriend, a girlfriend, a significant other,” responds Astri, “she’s super sweet. Her name is Lilac.”

“That’s cool,” responds Nightlight. A few hours later, they head to the dining hall where they enjoy dinner together and where Nightlight is soon approached by an old friend of his.

“Hey Knot,” says Nightlight, “it’s been awhile.”

“Yeah,” responds Knot, “may I sit with you? It’s been too long!”

“Of course!” Responds Nightlight. Knot sits down across from Nightlight and they immediately begin talking and catching up.

Meanwhile at Disneigh, it’s wrap up at the park and all the princesses go and get changed out of their costumes. They then return to their homes while Velvet ends up spending the night at Marepunzel’s house.

“Thanks Marigold for letting me stay over,” says Velvet, “it’s weird staying in the house Nightlight and I bought together with him being away at school and all if that makes sense at all.”

“Yeah, that makes sense, and it’s not a problem at all,” responds Marigold with a smile.

“Hey, how did Miracle Day go by the way?” Velvet inquires.

“It went perfectly, absolutely splendidly!” Responds Marigold with a smile. “They did miss you a lot tho. They could tell Snow Veil was Tilly and not you.”

“Well, it is what it is,” responds Velvet. “I’m just glad it went off without a hitch. I did miss it so much tho! But the honeymoon was fun! Absolutely magical!”

“Well, that’s good to hear,” responds Marigold with a smile. She brings over a plate of cookies and sits down next to Velvet. The two mares immediately begin snacking on the homemade goods as they continue to talk.

Meanwhile at the Canterlot School of Astrology, Nightlight, Sol, and Astri turn in for the night as well but not before Nightlight can write a letter for Velvet. He’ll send it off to her in the morning with his magic. Right now, it’s been a long first day and he just wants to sleep.

Chapter 18

The next morning, Nightlight uses his magic to send the letter to Velvet and she receives it with her own before she starts her day in the park. She happily opens the letter with her magic and begins to read it. “Dear Velvet, my love, I’m enjoying it here in Canterlot. The astronomy school is amazing and I’ve made friends, even reunited with some of my old friends because they’re in school here too. My roommates are super nice. Astri is a shy one and Sol is super fun and outgoing! I do miss seeing you everyday. See you in a few months, Nightlight.” Velvet lets out a sigh.

“You good, Velv?” Asks Tianamare as she walks by her friend.

“Yeah, first letter from Nightlight. I miss him is all,” responds Velv.

“Why didn’t you go to Canterlot with him?” Tianamare inquires.

“Because I love it here too much,” responds Velv, “and I wanted to get back. I was going crazy being away from it during the honeymoon and I just wanted to be back here.”

“Yeah, fair,” responds Tianamare, “I was the same way on my honeymoon too.” She giggles. “I totally get it.”

The two finish talking and head off to get into costume before heading into the park to their respective spots ten minutes later. Before she heads to her spot, Velvet tucks the letter away in her locker. She then heads to her spot in the park. A few minutes later, she begins greeting foals with a smile on her face. She takes pictures with them, happily welcomes some Miracle Fund foals among other things.

Meanwhile in Canterlot at the Canterlot School of Astronomy, it’s their first day of classes. Nightlight and the others pile into their first class: Introduction to Space. The room has about 300 students in it. After the two hour class comes to an end, the stallions and mares talk in the halls together before heading off to their next class: Constellations and Their Identification. They keep in the same rhythm over the following hours until they’re finally released for lunch.

Meanwhile at Disneigh, Velvet is on a short break after having a fall on her way to her second photo pass spot. She’s tending to her swollen hoof with an ice pack. “You sure you’re good to continue on today?” Says the staff nurse.

“Yeah, it’s just a sprain, I’ll be fine, just wrap it up and I’ll be on my way,” responds Velvet.

“Okay, if you say so,” responds the staff nurse. She wraps the ankle with coat-toned bandages and sends Velvet on her way with an escort. She soon arrives to her next photo pass spot safely and in one piece.

She stays at the spot until they are all closed down so the princesses can get prepared and prepped for the night’s parade. Due to her ankle, Velvet is forbade to leave her float at any point during the parade to which she agrees as she has no other choice. The parade itself goes off without a hitch.
