Cutie Marks; Part One
Two fillies storm down the streets of Ponyville; the filly on the left wore a silver tiara on her mane; her eye colour is cornflower blue, her mane being light grayish violet with white streaks and her coat being pale magenta. Her Cutie Mark being a picture of a tiara. While her friend on the right, wore light blue glasses and a pearl necklace with her mane braid. Her eye colour was moderate violet, her mane colour being two shades of light azureish gray with her coat being the colour of cornflower bluish gray and her Cutie Mark being a picture of a silver spoon.
Diamond Tiara was overflowing with anger, Silver Spoon stayed quiet watching her best friend muttering under her breath. The two had just got back from The Crystal Empire, wanting to be the flag carrier for Ponyville Diamond Tiara thought that the two of them were the best choice, but others disagree. Picking The Cutie Mark Crusaders instead of them.
"Can you believe it, they chose Blank Flanks, beside us!" Diamond cried out, Silver Spoon let out a moan and roll her eyes.
The gray coated filly just nodded and let out an "Hmm" agreeing with Diamond Tiara without saying a word, Silver Spoon knew her best friend and when Diamond doesn't get her way, it just best to nod let out a 'Hmm' in an agreement and not argue with the pink coat filly that wore the silver tiara on her head. Silver Spoon didn't even bother to listen, just nodding her head with a small smile on her lips, it not like Diamond cared much about what Silver Spoon thought.
"That's like totally not right, how, HOW! They Blank Flanks, losers and nothing more!" Diamond cried out, she stomped her hoof in anger.
Silver Spoon rolled her eyes at Diamond Tiara comment, the gray coated filly still stayed silent. Not wanting to make Diamond Tiara more angry than she already was. The pair of fillies made their way over to Sugar Cube Corner, Diamond wanting a chocolate milkshake after the events that she had put through.
"Is this about the Cutie Mark Crusaders or about her?" Silver Spoon asked, Diamond's face froze she was shocked.
"I... I don't know, she will be mad that I wasn't able to be the flag carrier for Ponyville, if I don't tell I'll be in more trouble and if I lie then..." Diamond Tiara spoke, looking away from her best friend.
"I know Di, don't worry you can just blame it on me. She'll believe it, you know she never like you being friends with me." Silver Spoon spoke, Diamond Tiara looked at Silver in shock.
"I can't do that again. I've already used you as a scapegoat a lot, she might force me to stop being friends with you. I can't lose my best friend." Diamond Tiara said, Silver wrapped her hoof around Diamond's body pulling her friend into a hug.
Diamond gave a smile to her best friend, the gray coated earth pony filly and pink coated earth pony filly walked towards Sugar Cube Corner, Diamond Tiara wanted something sweet after losing the flag carrier, Sugar Cube Corner is the stop. Diamond Tiara walked into Sugar Cube Corner, she had her nose high and her eyes closed, the pink earth pony filly walked into something, her eyes shot open to see her lips pressing against the male dragon; Spike. Diamond Tiara pushed him away in a fit of rage, brushing off her tongue with her hoof.
"You dare kiss me!" Diamond yelled out, she was blushing at the kiss that she shared with him.
"You walked into me, it was a mistake, that's it." Spike said, Diamond let out a growl.
She looked at the dragon, not knowing how to feel about the kiss, Diamond gave off a small smirk.
"You are just a unless Blank Flank, wait you're worst since even a Blank Flank would get a Cutie Mark, but you will never belong in Pony kind. Just some freak that walks around never to be good at anything in his life!" Diamond Tiara spoke, smirking.
"As long as my friends are by my side, I know that I will feel wanted." Spike said, folding his arms.
Silver Spoon stayed quiet, watching her best friend who bit her lip. Diamond kept opening and closing her mouth, trying to think of an comeback to the baby dragon. She looked at Silver Spoon who gave return with a shrug, the gray earth pony filly rather not get involved. Diamond Tiara let out a loud groan.
"Come Silver Spoon, this place is lame!" Diamond Tiara said, storming out of the shop.
"I said we're leaving!" Diamond yelled towards her friend, Silver looked back towards Spike and whisper to him, 'sorry' before following her friend outside.
Spike was just lucky that there was barely any pony in Sugar Cube Corner when he shared his accidental kiss with Diamond Tiara, he silently walked out of the shop, his head facing towards the ground. Kicking the pebbles on his way back to Golden Oak Library, it was a bad habit that he got into, where ever he was walking he just had to kick the same rock all the way to wherever he was heading. One time being over thirty minutes late, saying that the rock he was kicking was one from the Crystal Empire when Twilight question him.
"Am I useless?" He asked himself, thinking about how much of a little help he is towards his friends.
'Don't worry Spike, we got this, you can just sit back while we handle everything' Twilight's voice rang through his head.
'He's more of a annoyance then a help, he been ruining everything he touches!' Applejack's voice rang through his head.
'Spike there's no need for you to help me, I fine for now.' Fluttershy's voice rang through his head.
'Umm... Spike you kinda need wings if you want to be my assistant, plus you're not cool enough for me.' Rainbow Dash voice spoke inside his head.
Spike rubbed away the tears running down his face, nothing more than a bother. The baby dragon began to think he was nothing to any pony, he had nothing he was good at, screws up on the simple tasks, he couldn't even get a book for Twilight without burning the pages.
Spike waddled past Twilight, he ignore her calling his name. Spike lay in his basket bed, his head buried into his pillow. Spike soon drifted off to sleep, his dreams were haunted by the thoughts of his friends kicking him to the side and just replacing him with someone better, someone that wouldn't break everything that he touches. Letting out some tears onto his pillow, once day came, he woke up with a tired yawn escaping his lips, having tossed and turned throughout the night, he barely got a wink of sleep.
Spike rubbed his tired eyes, holding the list that Twilight gave him after breakfast, the purple unicorn just wanted some new quills and paper. He bumped into somepony, dropping the list Twilight gave him. A gray colour hoof picked it up for him, Spike looked to see a smiling Silver Spoon holding his list. The baby dragon just took the list without saying a word.
"I'm sorry about yesterday!" Silver Spoon cried out, Spike turn to her, confusion filled his eyes.
"I know I didn't do anything, but I should have! Diamond had no right to talk to you like that." Silver Spoon kept talking, Spike listen in silence.
"I just hope you and her are happy. Because I am useless, no pony likes me. My crush would only wave her hoof at me to shoo me away, I can't even cook a pie. I completely useless." Spike said, sinking against the wall of a random building.
Silver Spoon sat next to him, pulling him close to her. Giving the baby dragon a nice warm hug.
"That's not true, I have always found you... Cute, I was just afraid of saying it out loud since that you always following around that one pony with hearts floating out of you." Silver Spoon said, Spike looked at her, knowing that Silver Spoon is telling him the truth.
"You're cute as well. Those glasses pull the whole look together." Spike spoke, Silver Spoon gave off a blush and smile.
"Really?" She asked, playing with her mane with her front right hoof.
"Silver Spoon do you want to go out sometime, like a date?" Spike asked, stuttering out his words.
Silver Spoon let out a small giggle, giving the baby dragon a kiss on his cheek.
"I'll love too." Silver Spoon said, Spike smiled.
Silver Spoon and Spike decide to meet the next day at Sunset Hill, the hill was named because it was the best place for couples to watch the sunset and see the orange light reflection off the clam ocean with the waves gently hitting the side of the cliff. The gray filly and purple baby dragon sat there in the middle of the day where no many ponies were around to bother them.
Spike set out the red and pink pattern picnic blanket, and the brown basket. Silver Spoon cuddle close to the baby dragon, taking bites from her sandwich. Spike had his arm wrapped the gray earth pony filly, Silver had her head resting on his shoulder, he didn't know if the two of them were together. Some thoughts ran through his mind, thinking that Silver Spoon just decide to give him a petty date.
"Did you just agree to this because you felt sorry for me?" Spike asked, he just need to know.
Silver pulled away from Spike, she looked at him in shook.
"No! I swear, Diamond might be controlling and always wants things to go her way. I stood by her since she's my friend. But I didn't say yes to our date because I felt sorry. I say yes because I have feeling towards you, I'm not too sure on how I feel, but I know that you are kind and caring that I feel like I have time decide." Silver Spoon spoke, Spike lower his head.
"Sorry about that, I was just worried. Since Diamond told me I was useless, my head has been filled with doubt." Spike said, Silver lifted his head.
Spike looked into her gorgeous moderate violet coloured eyes and saw her glimmering smile, Spike return the smile that Silver Spoon gave him, the gray earth pony pulled the baby dragon into a hug, feeling the warmth from his scales against her gray coat.
"Do you want to be my filly friend?" Spike asked, flinching at his question.
Silver Spoon giggled into her hoof, giving Spike a kiss on his cheek. He rubbed the spot with his claw and gave a smile, Silver Spoon was slightly smiling towards the purple and green scale baby male dragon.
"Yes, I'll love to be your filly friend." Silver Spoon said, Spike smiled with the new couple enjoying their first date on Sunset Hill.
Diamond Tiara is furious, Silver Spoon has always been lying to the pink earth pony filly. Diamond knew Silver since the two were fouls, the gray earth pony has never been good at lying, normally leaving the lies and the tricks to Diamond Tiara. Silver had small tells, it a little difficult for any pony else beside Diamond. Silver would look away, normally towards the ground, her hoof would kick against the dirt.
She gently bite her lip, and start tipping over her words and stuttering through her words. Most of the time, the gray earth pony would make up words hoping that no pony would noticed her. Silver Spoon was keeping something to herself, even after the promise that she and Diamond made together, to never keep secrets from each other. In class and on the playground, Silver Spoon would get lost in thought and a light red blush would grow on her cheeks whenever she got lost in her thoughts.
"Where are you going?" Diamond asked, standing at the entrance and only exit of the school.
"Di... Hi, umm... I just ... Just, need to help my dad! Yeah, dad... He, umm... He needs me at home to, umm... To do my homework! I'm a bit behind at the moment, so... Umm... I just need to get home fast, he says that I can't play with my friends until all my homework is finished." Silver said, giving off a worried smile.
Diamond Tiara let out a 'hmm' towards Silver Spoon, the gray filly kept her worried smile on her lips. Diamond raised her eyebrow, knowing that Silver is keeping something locked away from her. Diamond gave a fake smile, Silver could finally breathe again, thinking Diamond fake smile was a real smile.
"That's fine. I wish you luck." Diamond said, Silver just nodded without saying a word.
"Bump, Bump, Sugar Lump Rump!" They both said, doing they the moments for their dance.
Diamond gave a wave to Silver, watching the gray coated filly walking away, her fake smile turned into a sinister grin. Silver Spoon could breath once again, she rather not have Diamond Tiara find out that she is dating Spike. She open the door to Sugar Cube Corner, the door hit the golden bell that filled the shop with a light ringing noise.
She gave a smile towards Spike, see him sitting by himself at the table. She sat opposite of him, Spike gave her a kind smile. Pinkie put down two chocolate milkshakes for the couple, Spike listen to Silver talking about how her day, stating the fact that Diamond might be on to her.
"Why should you worry about what she thinks, you're the one that controls your own life." Spike said, Silver gave off a soft smile.
Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes, hearing sweet talk between them made her sick, seeing Spike happy with some pony else. Diamond didn't know how to feel, she wanted to be in Silver Spoon's place, having a date with Spike. The pink filly hoped at it was just a one time thing, maybe that Silver wasn't dating the baby dragon for real.
Diamond burn with jealous, thinking it was that she lost her best friend. She saw Silver and Spike share a kiss on the lips, the pink earth pony filly kept picturing herself in that spot, wanting to kiss Spike once again. Flaring up in a blush, with the thought in her head, Diamond shook her head storming up to the couple.
"Ah! Diamond, what... What are you doing here?" Silver asked, after she and Spike finished kissing.
"I knew you were lying to me, why Si, any friend that lies to me are no friend of mine!" Diamond Tiara cried out, storming out of Sugar Cube Corner.
