> Capt. Mommy > by Comrade Bagel Muffin > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Love you Capt. Mommy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning light filtered into the cloud room. The little blue filly with a two-toned yellow orange mane rolled over in her bed. Her room was messy filled with all kinds of toys and Wonderbolt memorabilia. She hugged her little brown puppy plushy, as she sat up in her bed. She rubbed her eyes. She looked over to the door were her mommy, Spitfire. "Captain Mommy?!" She jumped out of her bed and ran over to her mommy. Who grabbed her and picked her up in a nice hug, mommy's hugs were always the best. "Good morning, Spring Breeze, are you ready for blueberry pancakes?" "Yea. Blueberries, blueberries!" Spring Breeze cheered, jumping up and down, young wings flapping while she remained grounded on the floor. It would be a few more years before she could fly. "Is Captain Mommy going to stay with me today?" She looked up to mommy, who leaned down and nuzzled her. Mommy was really soft. "Yep. I got the whole day off with you, sweetie." Spitfire picked up her little filly and with a flap of her wings back paddled down the hall. Spring Breeze cheered as they flew down the hall. She held on tightly to the little light blue filly, and cork screwed down the stairs, landing on the first floor of their cloud house. She set Spring Breeze down, the little filly continued giggling. "Did you like that?" "Yeah, Captain Mommy is the best!" Spring Breeze clapped her hooves. Spitfire ruffled her filly's already messy mane, as they trotted into the kitchen. "Come on Springy, lets make those pancakes." Spitfire opened the refrigerator, grabbing the eggs and butter milk. "Springy, get mom my the big red bowl." "Okey, Captain Mommy." She poked her head through the door, and pulled the red bowl out of the cloud cabinet while wearing a strainer on her head. "Here you go Captain Mommy." She put the mixing bowl on the counter. Spitfire chuckled at daughter's improvised hat. "Good job Private Springy." Spring Breeze saluted. Spitfire got the flour, and other dry ingredients. "Alright Springy, ready to cook some pancakes?" "And Blueberries, blueberries, blueberries." Spring Breeze cheered as she jumped up and down. "Do you want to add blueberries to the pancakes?" "Yes, Blueberries." "Okay we'll add some berries." Spring breezed cheered as Spitfire pulled out a big bowl of berries. "Alright Springy get the measuring cup. I'll so I can state mixing the dry ingredients." Spring ran over to the counter and pulled out a plastic measuring cup. Spitfire opened up the flour and scooped out some with the cup, and poured it into the bowl. She reached back to get another only to get a hoof of flour thrown at her. The flour got all over her. She smirked as Spring Breeze tried to get another hoofful. "Oh no you don't Private Springy." She grot a hoofful and poured it down on her daughter. "Ah She jumped up on the counter and poured the bowl over her mommy. "I got Captain Mommy!" Spitfire laughed and shook as much of the flour out of her coat and mane as she could. "Can't get me Captain Mommy." Spring Breeze jumped off of counter and ran into the living room. Her wings were flapping on her back. "Oh yes I can." Spitfire jumped into the living room. flapping her flour covered wings getting flour all over the room. Spitfire didn't care she'd clean it up later all that mattered was she and her filly were having fun. She followed the flour trail that Spring Breeze left in her wake. Spitfire caught her with a playful roar, picking her up in her hooves and flying into the vaulted ceiling of their house. Spring Breeze squealing with joy as her mommy spun her around in the sky. Flour went everywhere. "Captain Mommy is best!" Spring Breeze cheered as her mommy gently set her back down on the floor. Spring Breeze squealed as Spitfire blew a raspberry into her daughter's belly. "You're the best little filly Springy." Spitfire laughed as she picked her up and carried her back into the kitchen, to finish making their breakfast. Her and Spring Breeze constantly poaching blueberries from the bowl as they mixed them into the pancake batter. Spitfire prepared the pancakes as her daughter played in the floor what was all over the floor, cabinets, and walls. It was a little after noon when the pancakes were finally finished. The two of them sat down and enjoyed their lunch. Spitfire figured that they'd clean up after they were finished. They should be done before Soarin got home. Even though he was going to be back early today. She wish that they could both be here on Spring Breeze's birthday, but one of them needed to lead practice. Rainbow was suppose to, but she was currently enjoy her honeymoon. It was unfortunate, but they were able to clear a short practice today. "Mommy?" Spitfire looked up from her thoughts to her filly. "Yeah Springy?" "Can you stay home tomorrow with me too? Please Captain Mommy?" "Of course sweetie tomorrow's sunday, you know that me and Daddy get Sundays off." Spring Breeze cheered up. Spitfire wasn't a professional mother, but she knew her filly like the back of her wing. "What's wrong Springy?" "I just don't like it when you and Daddy aren't here." "Do you want another foal sitter?" "No, I love Ms. Scootyloo. It's just I love Captain Mommy and Daddy more." She looked up at her mommy giving her the biggest puppy dog eyes Spitfire had ever seen. "Spring Breeze." Spitfire got up and moved over to her little filly. "Daddy and Mommy love you very much, and we do everything we can to spend all the time we can with you. You know that right Sweetie." She nodded. "Good, right now Mommy's trying to work really hard to become a Major, and when that happens I'll be only one promotion away from Lieutenant colonel." She picked Spring Breeze up and carried her to the living room and sat down in the rocking chair. "I know that doesn't mean anything to you, but what it means is that I'll have a lot more free time to spend with you. Okay?" "Okay Captain Mommy." Spring Breeze nodded. "Okay." Spitfire started rocking and soon the two of them were lolled to sleep. Soarin opened the door bring in a birthday cake and a few wrapped gifts from the other Wonderbolts. He smiled at the sight of the living room covered with flour and The two most important fillies in his life asleep in the rocking chair also covered in flour. He'd let the two of them get their rest as he put the cake and presents in the kitchen and lay on the couch, to join his wife and daughter in their dreams.
