However, Sunset Shimmer isn't the kind of person to say sorry so easily. So Spike, with the help of a few friends and family, will try everything to bridge the divide within 30 moons.
Spike was enjoying every second with his mother. After many months in Ponyville, he was glad Twilight decided to leave him in Canterlot while she was on an adventure with their friends in Appleloosa. Spike loved trading stories with his mother in her chambers, enjoying the heat of the fireplace before naptime.
“And that’s the reason why the Blueblood clan trusts nopony in Equestria,” Princess Celestia concluded, the ancient story intriguing Spike as the pair munched on cake.
“Wow, that explains why Blueblood treats mares like that. I just hope Rarity forgives him in the future, after he marries a pony that’s perfect for him.” Spike was in awe from the story behind the Bluebloods. They were jerks, not because they wanted to be, but to protect their family from the corruption that so often infects royalty. Trust, after all, was not to be given to anypony lightly.
“She will find a way in her heart to forgive your cousin, Spike. And if she doesn’t, she isn’t worth enough to be dating royalty…or you.” While her tone was serious, she was clearly teasing her little dragon. Spike started to blush.
“MOOOOOMMM,” Spike blurted out, making his mother giggle.
“What? I was telling the truth, my little dragon deserves the best mare in Equestria, and I even have some recommendations for you! Do you think…”
“MOOOOOMMMM, STOOOOOP!” Spike shouted, his face pink and almost as red as his blush. “Please!”
“Why yes, my little dragon.” Princess Celestia hugged Spike and giggled. “Well, that reminds me about when your older cousin Corazion del Fuego was having his first problems with mares. He was so shy but so cute as well! It was funny to see how many mares would staring at him and how uncomfortable it made him. One day, he told me he found out a mare was watching him bathing, so he went an entire month wearing a disguise so it wouldn’t happen again!”
Princess Celestia and Spike laughed together at the old story.
“I can’t believe he is Cadance’s grandpa...but it would make sense, since Corazion and Mi amore Cadenza seem so similar to me,” Spike mused, chewing on another piece of cake.
“Chew your food before you talk, Spike! And while you may have a point, well, Cadance doesn’t enjoy stories about her grandfather while-” Princess Celestia bit her lip before she finished the sentence. Spike looked at her, confused.
“Who, mom? Why did you stop talking? What happened?” Spike asked, a bit concerned about the change of weather in the room. Something bad must have happened and he did not know what.
“Spike, do you remember when I told you about your sister?” Celestia decided to share what was on her mind.
“Sunset Shimmer?” Spike asked. The name made her flinch a bit.
“Yes, well, Corazion was one of her favorite cousins; his stories were the only thing that made her attend all the Holidays and parties at the castle. While he was really old, she treated him like he was her grandpa, and she enjoyed passing the time with him. More than that, Corazion was her only friend when she was a filly,” Princess Celestia explained, her face appearing simultaneously happy, proud, regretful, and sorrowful. “After Corazion… you know…Sunset closed herself off from the world. Nopony was able to talk to her, not even me. I didn’t know how to help her. I think I just made things worse. I never knew how to deal with my own kind. I thought she would understand, but she was too young. She didn’t want to listen.”
Spike sat in stunned silence. He was young but mature enough to understand what happened. His mother was talking about the death of Sunset’s cousin, and without her only friend, Sunset had lost her kindness. From what he knew beforehand, he remembered when his mother told him about his sister leaving through the portal, after a contentious discussion between the two.Spike didn’t know what to say or what to do. He decided to try to hug his mother, but when he approached with his arms out, she stood up and turned around.
“I have to go Spike; sorry, but I remembered I have some issues I have to deal with.”
“Before sunset? But mom, it's almost bedtime, you need your rest.” Spike said worried about what kind of situation had befallen his mother. She had a tendency to sleepwalk and could sleep in uncomfortable places like the kitchen, the courtroom or even in Luna’s bedroom. That was the worst of all the places, because that would end in grave consequences for her.
“I know Spike, but I need to leave. See you tomorrow morning, and… I’m sorry.” Princess Celestia sighed wearily and left the room.
“I wish I could know what to do.” Spike let out a sigh. He went to the window to watch the sunset and moonrise, smiling as he thought of Luna and his mum moving them across the sky. “I think that is what she was going to do, I forgot she needs to make the sun down and starts the night, well, I think soon I will go to sleep. However, I have a strange feeling. Why I’m feeling so distant from her?”
The next morning started as usual. Spike woke up in his bed and let out a yawn. He looked over and noticed a small piece of paper, folded in half. He picked it up and looked curiously at it.
“Huh?” Spike said confused, as he opened the note and began to read the contents within.
“Dear Spike, sorry for the sudden withdrawal last night. I needed to take care of some royal business. I received an emergency message from the nobles about their requests over new lands. You know what I think about that, prepare to laugh later. Love you… Mom.”
Spike felt a little disappointed by this, but also realized that Celestia had a duty as princess for the realm. He knew that she’d likely tell him him about this later, and he so loved when she told stories about her problem with the nobles. He turned over the paper and found a short message on the back of the note.
‘P.S. There are pancakes in the kitchen.There’s a special ingredient, just for you. I’m sure you’ll love it. Enjoy your breakfast, my baby dragon.’
“YAY.” Spike let it out a cheer over his favorite breakfast. His mother’s pancakes.
He ran upstairs, and took a bath before going to the kitchen.
“Oh man. It’s been a while since I've eaten the famous solaris pancakes. I was going to miss the flavor. It’s better eat before somepony funny decides to mess with my pancakes.” Spike rushed the corridors, ignoring the ponies looking at him.
Then when he finally got inside of the kitchen, he only saw Princess Luna eating fruits, unpeeled. Spike looked around and saw his pile of delicious, gem-encrusted pancakes on the table. He rushed over and grabbed the knife and fork. He was already drooling with anticipation. He took the first bite. His eyes went wide and he moaned with pleasure, attracting the attention of the night Princess near him.
“Do you want some, Aunt Luna?” Spike said sheepish, with his mouth still full. The Princess giggled at his antics.
“Don’t worry about me, young Spike. I’m okay with my breakfast. I know my sister pancakes were good, but I never realized how much you liked them.” Princess Luna smiled even with her eyes tired about another night of work.
“Are you kidding? These pancakes are what makes me wake up in the mornings. It’s a shame Twilight isn’t capable of making pancakes, not unless it includes setting the whole library on fire.” Spike chuckles.
“She can’t be that bad.” Princess Luna snorted.
“If her and Sweetie Belle were in a cooking contest, both would end up in a tie.” Spike countered, taking another bite of the pancakes. This one had sapphires on it.
“That bad? Wow. I take you are the one who makes all the food over there?” Princess Luna giggled. She imagined the scenes between her sister’s student and the little foal who burned juice in the same kitchen.
“Yep, I’m pretty cautious with my kitchen over there. Can you imagine what would happen if I let Twilight cook without me? She would make such a mess.” Spike said making both laugh at the idea.
“Well what’s your plans for today Spike? Knowing Tia is going to take all day to deal with the brown noses, I’m interested to know what my dear nephew will do on this lovely morning?” Princess Luna finished her fruit, giving a tired smile to the little dragon.
“I don’t know. Maybe just poking around here, or maybe stay in my bedroom until mom comes back from work.” Spike tapped his chin, thinking what would be the better idea for him to do.
Princess Luna frowned as she thought on the little dragon staying in one room all the day, not exploring or playing near the castle.
“I don’t think it is a good idea for you to stay in your room for so many hours Spike. It’s not healthy. Maybe going to the library or visiting some friends in the castle would be a better idea.”
“Yeah, I think you're right, Aunt Luna. Well, I think after breakfast, I will take a look around the castle” Spike took another bite of his pancakes, almost finishing it.
“Good idea, Spike. Well, I think it’s my turn to sleep. I’m not a very energetic pony in the morning hours.” Princess Luna sighed. “I’ll see you later. Good morning, little nephew.”
“See you tonight Aunt Luna.” Spike waved to his aunt as he finished off the last of the pancakes. He left his finished dish in the sink and, after checking there was no pony else in the room, set off to explore the castle.
“Well, what should I do?” Spike mumbled to himself as he walked through the castle corridors. As he said this, he past some doors that were familiar to him. He stopped and backtracked towards them. “That’s it. I'll just go to the library here. There's always good books for me to read for a while, like my secret comics I hide.”
Spike walked through the doors and began to run through the corridor that lead to the library, laughing in glee. He was surprised when the floor became slick and he found himself fighting to keep his balance. The only thing he could think on his mind was.
“Oh ponyfeathers.”
He tumbled and slip down the corridor, colliding with everything that happened to be in the way. Spike tried desperately to stand up, but at this point he was giddy from tumbling and was sore all over from the collisions that he knew would likely come up in bruises. Thankfully, nopony witnessed his embarrassing scene. However, there was nopony to witness him as he impacted into a door and tumbled into a mysterious room. Spike lay on the ground for a bit.
“Ohhhhhhhhh.” Spike moaned in pain. His vision was blurry and the world seemed to be spinning. He shook his head and tried to regain his senses. “… Where am I?” Spike found himself in a dark room covered with many blankets and pillars. The room felt ominous and foreboding. Spike laughed nervously, as he blamed it on how dark the room was.
“There is nothing to worry about” he told himself “Dark rooms usually just need to be cleaned up and a light to be turned on, and everything will be okay.”
Spike tried not to let the dark room scare him. After he and his friends had dealt with many problems and dangers, this was just a dark room. Not Everfree forest. Spike didn’t take long to get up and explore the room. There were many tables and stands were covered with dusty white sheets.
“Geez, maybe they just need a bit of redecoration over here, I can imagine Rarity having a field day around here. Pretty sure she’d be able to make this room look absolutely: DIVINE.” Spike imitated Rarity's voice and sang out the last word like she did when she was happy.Spike chuckled as he poked around around the room. It wasn’t that bad in here. Spike rationalized that, if a monster was in this room, there was one big problem. One thought that prevented its existence.“What kind of stupid monster would try to attack the inside of a castle with numerous royal guards, two Alicorns ready to destroy countless enemies if they desired, not to mention one of them being my mother who would immolate anyone if they hurt a single scale on me?” Spike laughed. He was adorable and knew it. He shook his head and decided to see what the objects covered by the white blankets were.
“And the first mystery item is!?” Spike cheered, pulling the blanket away to reveal nothing more than… “Books?”
Spike let it out a disappointed sigh, he never thought what was supposed to be interesting artifacts was in the truth books, making him replied with a groan after covering again.
“Why is my life always need to be impressed with books? Even without Twilight here I still get crowded with books.” Spike decided to ignore the books and to take a look over at another place covered by a white blanket.
He explored deeper inside of the room and noticed a big blanket covering what looked to be a mirror. His curiosity was immediately piqued.
“I hope this isn’t a book, too.” Spike moaned sarcastically before pulling the blanket away. Underneath were a mirror and two medallions. “Hm?”
Spike looked curiously at the two medallions. They were identical, mini versions of the mirror but covered with black metal. Then, he took the note and began reading.
‘Dear Cadance, this is my present for the happiest day of your life, when you will have your own kingdom to rule and take care of its ponies. I couldn’t be prouder than I am now! What the future holds will be unknown to you, but having friends and your coltfriend by your side will make everything easier for you. You have the potential to avoid the mistakes I made in the past, which is why I’m giving you this mirror, so you can make right what I did wrong, and help me to forgive myself for my past mistake. If you decide to track down my daughter, I won’t stand in your way. I decided to give you these amulets in case you wish to travel to the other world. Unicorn or Alicorn magic is too much for the mirror to handle; you could lose your magic when you travel using it. However, these amulets will store your magic for your use later on. I know you and Sunset weren’t on the best of terms in the past but I know that your heart is filled with love and that one day she’ll become a better pony. I pray for that. This is my gift for you, Cadance, and I know every decision you will make it will be because you followed your heart.’ Signed: Princess Celestia
Spike read the letter over 3 more times. This mirror was where his sibling had entered and disappeared into until now. Celestia seemed to blame herself for that. Something inside Spike’s mind told him to talk with his aunt or even his cousin about that possibility. However, in his heart, he didn’t want his mother to act like she did yesterday.
It was time for action.
Spike took one of the amulets and put it over his neck. Looking into the mini mirror, he noticed that his face appeared, like a picture, inside of the amulet. He admired himself as he flexed into the mirror for a few minutes, before wishing himself luck and leaping through the mirror with all the force he could muster.
“Mom, I will come back.” Princess Celestia heard him whisper inside of her mind as she spoke to the nobles around her.
“Spike?” She asked, without realizing this was the last he would hear before he did the inevitable.
Spike was sucked into the portal. Spike vision became blurry as he watched a technicolor display all around him. So many colors inside as he traveled… somewhere. It was an experience like none other.The speed and the hysteria mixed with the anxiety and panic inside his heart made him scream in total panic and surprise. But there was nopony around to hear him scream. It was disorientating. He couldn’t control his feelings. He lost sight of what was up or down. It felt like he was falling, or was he even moving at all? He couldn’t tell.
“WWWOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH” He screamed. It was the only thing he could do.
The explosions of colors traveling inside of his own scales. He began to freak out even more as it seeped into his body. It pulsed like a heartbeat. He could see his bones inside his scales. There seemed to be some kind of subtle change happening, what appeared to be fur growing where his scales were. However, just as this was happening, he saw the medallion shine bright and the fur disappear. Instead, his scales changed to a more soft, scaleless texture. Something fur-like started growing on his head. His scales were scratching. He was feeling uncomfortable. He didn’t know what’s going on.Then Spike felt a powerful pushing force against him, causing an explosion around him. Everything went black. Spike felt dizzy and confused.
“Arg…My head.” he groaned, placing a hand on his head. His head felt different. It wasn’t its usual scaly self. He moved his hand up and, instead of his usual head spikes, found a tuft of… hair? He looked at his hands. They were long with stubby ends, not like the claws he was used to.He fell back in surprise and horror. His claws, gone. His scales, gone. His teeth felt different, smoother than usual. His whole body felt different, and he was wearing… clothes now? He started to panic.
“My body, what happened to my body?” Spike said alarmed. Just then, he was interrupted by other voice.
“Oh my gosh, I saw what happened. Are you okay?” A gentle voice penetrates inside of Spike’s mind and his own heart. That voice was familiar to him, a voice of an angel. The same voice that made Spike’s heart pound and causes butterflies on his stomach every time he heard it. He turned around, expecting to see her; The unicorn of his dreams. But instead, he saw some kind of bipedal creature with soft, elegant clothes, worriedly looking at him.Spike was so shocked, he couldn’t answer her. He couldn’t think of what to say and just sat there on the floor, staring at her with mouth agape. She looked at him, confused, as she got closer to help him up., Spike internally noted that she smelled like flowers, like her unicorn counterpart.
“Rarity?” Spike whispered. She gasped in surprise.
“How... how did you know my name? Do I know you?” Rarity asked. She stopped in her tracks and tried to see if she recognized this stranger who came out of nowhere and instantly knew her name. Her suspicions of him were clear in her body language.
Spike didn’t know how to respond to her. Her reaction wasn’t what he expected. It became obvious she wasn’t the same Rarity he knew. She was another Rarity. How was he going to answer that?
“Err…Well, how could I not know you? You are really famous where I come from. There are a lot of ponies who enjoys your dresses.” Spike explained quickly. It was the first thing that came into his head. And it was technically true, as far as Spike was aware. There are many ponies who enjoy Rarity’s dresses. She is indeed a good dressmaker. Or at least, the Rarity he knew was. That’s when he realized his mistake.
“Did you just say ponies?” Rarity questioned, growing even more suspicious of the stranger. While she was flattered by his answer, she was also a little weirded out by his strange mannerisms
“Err… Did I say that? Well, I, umm… what I meant to say was… where are we anyway?” Spike flustered.He didn’t know what they were if they weren’t ponies.If she knew this, it would only cause more suspicion and confusion. Who doesn’t know their own species? Better to change the topic.However, Rarity narrowed her eyes and looked straight at the nervous Spike. Like an angry tigress after being woken up by a hapless prey.
“Don’t change the topic. What are you on about ponies for?” Rarity said sternly, making Spike sweat bullets. He didn’t liked when Rarity was angry when she was a pony, and whatever form she was now was just as bad. Spike laughed nervously as he tried to think of some kind of response. He couldn’t think of anything. He could feel damp sweat begin to build under his armpits and onto his clothes.“Well?” Rarity pressed again for an answer.
“I DON’T KNOW, I DON’T KNOW WHERE I AM OR WHAT’S GOING ON!” Spike broke under her glare, catching the lady by surprise with his outburst.
Rarity looked blinked a couple of times at this sudden explosion.Then she began to snigger, trying to hold back her laugh. This didn’t last long, and the snigger grew into a full laugh.Spike stopped and looked at her confused. He didn’t know what just happened, but he began to blush at her laugh and nervously join in too.
“What?” He giggled, as she bopped him on the nose.
“I was just messing with you, little one. You are quite silly. Wasn’t expecting you to outburst like that though. I’m sorry. However, I am curious about how you just appeared from the statue behind you.” Rarity smiled. Spike’s heart melt, like it did every time she spoke to him back home.
“Statue?” He looked behind him and found indeed was a statue behind him. “But that was… That was a mirror.”
“Well, now I’m really curious about what happened. Let’s start fresh. It wasn’t polite of you to instantly know my name and treat me as you did, and yet not tell me who are you.” Rarity winked, offering her hand to Spike to help him to get up.
“Well, my name is Spike. Spike Solaris the dragon.” He grabbed her hand and, with her help, pulled himself onto his feet.
“Dragon? Like the mythological creatures?” Rarity laughed. She was starting to get the suspicion that either he was crazy or not from around here. She was leaning more towards the former. How could she believe she was talking to a dragon? He had no scales, no claws, no tail, and was tiny. Not to mention the whole mythology side.
“Mythological? Are you kidding me? Have you never met a dragon before? I know dragons aren’t common near pony settlements, especially not raised by them, but there were many dragons over Equestria.” Spike exclaimed, astonished that anyone would think anyone would dismiss dragons existence. His species couldn’t be extinct, could it? But then he remembered… He wasn’t in Equestria anymore. “Sorry. I mean, where I come from, dragons are everywhere… Are there seriously no dragons in this world?”
“First off, no. There are no dragons in this world. Second… Were you raised by ponies? How does that work? I’ve gathered at this point that you are either crazy or alien. Is there, like, a world governed by ponies? And You lived with them like family? How does that work?” Rarity said confuse with a hint of interest and disbelief.
“Well, yeah… I noticed some bits looked different, but it can’t be that bad. What do I look like to you?” Spike stated this like it was obvious. What was he if not a dragon?
“Well, you don’t look like a dragon now. Here, take a look.” Rarity took a pocket mirror from her bag and gave it to Spike.He took the mirror and looked at his reflection for the first time in this world. His eyes grew wide as he looked at his new face.
“Why is my snout so small? And it’s longer. And what’s up with my chin?” He said touching his face with worry, then he glanced his hair. “I have a mane now?”
“Well darling, that would be your hair. Horses have manes, not people. Also, the small snout, as you called it, is called a nose.” Rarity corrected as Spike continued to inspect his reflection in the mirror.
“Even my mouth is different. This is weird. Am I still capable to breathe fire?” Spike continued, too distracted by how different this body was to hear what Rarity said. He closed the pocket mirror and decided to try his signature fire breath. He took a deep breath in and let it out like he normally would back home. He expecting the light green flame as usual to fire from his new, flatter mouth and snout. But instead, a tiny ember floated pitifully from his mouth and disappeared as it touched the ground, creating a thin line of smoke that dissipated quickly. Rarity was impressed but Spike blushed in shame.
“That’s embarrassing. Please believe me. This is the first time this has happened to me. Usually, I can do it a really powerful fire breath. It’s usually not like that” Spike mumbled sheepish, worried about what his new friend would think about his shameful flame.
Rarity let it out a giggle in response. She was really impressed and took his words seriously. He was indeed a dragon. She had never seen anyone capable of creating ember with their mouths. That just wasn’t possible for a human to do. However, one thing humans and dragons had in common seemed to be trying to impress the ladies.
“Men, always trying to impress a woman with their masculinity. Even when you “mess it up”, you give the same excuse.” Rarity giggled, looking at the little dragon boy. He was so cute standing there, blushing and acting like that.
Spike looked at her nervously. Her giggling, while being melodious like the usual Rarity, made him feel a bit ashamed of himself.
“That’s perfectly normal darling. I could say I’m really impressed. I’ve never seen a human capable of making an ember or fire breath like that. I trust you when you say you are a dragon now.” Rarity laughed. Spike felt flattered and relieved that his shameful flame was not shameful at all. It was a feat that no one here could do. And, it was the proof she needed to believe in him.
“Well, I definitely feel different here, and…” At that moment, it struck him. He felt he was missing something. He put a hand behind him and paused “Why can’t I feel my tail?” Spike looked behind him, but it wasn’t there. He began to panic. He had lost a whole part of his body. Parts changing was one thing, but losing it all together? That was something else entirely.
“Uh oh…” Rarity muttered to herself, imagining what would happen next.
“MY TAIL! WHERE IS MY TAIL?” Spike was screaming looking at his behind and trying to find his tail over his body. Spike started hyperventilating. It must be there. It was always behind him. His new body was totally different from he was on Equestria. It was such a drastic change to get used to. He couldn’t fire breath like before, his teeth weren’t sharp enough to eat gems here, and now his tail was lost. But a pair of hands grabbed the sides of his face, directing him towards Rarity who looked directly into his emerald eyes.
“SPIKE, CALM DOWN. I know this must be disorientating, but this is normal. Humans don’t have tails. Relax… please. You’ll cause a scene” Rarity explained, snapping Spike’s attention back to the here and now. “Just breathe slowly. Let it out and take a breath again. Follow me.”
Spike listened to her, and following her breathes. He calmed after taking some breathes and finally relaxed.
“Are you feeling better?” Rarity asked, smiling at him.
“This world is crazy.” Spike sighed, making her giggle a little.
Then the moment was interrupted by the sound of a stomach grumbling. Spike looks to Rarity, who tried to maintain her composure but was clearly blushing about the interruption. The pair chuckled a bit.
“Well, from the sounds of it, you’re hungry too. Is there a place where we could eat?” Spike asked, realizing it wasn’t just her who was hungry. He had breakfast what felt like hours ago, and Spike’s mind had turned to thoughts of lunch is a good thing right now.
“Well, I think I have a good place where we can eat. There is still much more I wish to discuss with you. Follow me.” Rarity nodded, leading Spike towards the food court. She had worked out by now that he… wasn’t from around here. Who knows what kind of trouble there could’ve been if she didn’t witness him falling out of the statue. She wasn’t stupid. He clearly needed help, and she took it upon herself to help him, no matter what.Spike followed her looking at many things. He had never seen things like cars, airplanes, or the televisions seen in the store windows they passed by. Spike was really baffled by this world of technology. Every time he found something he didn’t recognize, he asked Rarity what was. She waved this off, saying she was going to explain everything after they find something to eat.
They entered a store Spike seemed to recognize. It had the same feeling as a place he was well acquainted with back home. A place one of his friends worked at.
“HI RARITY!” screamed the excited pink girl behind them, making Spike jump in surprise and Rarity scream.
“PINKIE” screamed both in unison, making them look at each and other.
“How did you know her name?” Rarity asked surprised by his guess.
“Umm… Well… you see…” Spike squirmed nervously, whispering “There’s a pinkie in my world too… Kind of hard not to know who she is… Friendly, constant parties, especially for new ponies, wanting to make friends with everyone..” Spike smiled nervously.
“That’s all true.” Pinkie Pie bounced between them. Spike was so startled, he nearly fell backward in surprise. But he managed to just about catch himself, avoiding an unfortunate fall.
“Well ok then. Pinkie Pie, can you make a table for me and my friend Spike here?” Rarity asked elegantly.
“OH OH, can I join with you? It’s almost my break time so I really want to join you.”
“Sure thing darling, you can tag along with us. What do you think Spike?”
“I think that was a pretty good idea actually.”
Spike and Rarity took their seats at the table while waiting for Pinkie Pie to bring their meal… which they hadn’t even ordered yet.
“Wait… we didn’t even get to order something.” Spike quivered. He started to grow concerned over what the food would taste like here.
“I'm sure she will surprise us, darling. Pinkie Pie knows what she is doing...well almost all the time.” Rarity mumbled. She would hope that Pinkie knew what she was doing, but you could never be certain with her
“Well, I suppose so. That sounds like the Pinkie I know too.” Spike shrugged
“So, Spike, tell me about yourself.” Rarity asked inquisitively “I never meet a dragon before. What do you eat? What do you do in your free time? What is your culture? I have many questions.”
“Well... I'm Spike Solaris the dragon. I'm 14 years old. I eat gems, especially sapphires. They are really tasty, but I like others too. In my free time, I'm a number one assistant of my best friend, Twilight Sparkle, she is a royal student.” Spike proudly announced, prompting more questions from Rarity.
“Gems? Do you really eat gems? And what do you and your friend Twilight Sparkle do? What does being a royal student entail?” Rarity asked amazed at this information.
“Well, yeah. My powerful teeth and tongue let me eat many gems for snacks. And me and Twilight work at the library while Twilight is a student of Princess Celestia of Equestria.” Spike explained.
“Oh, that reminds me. I actually have some questions about where are you from.” Rarity holds her two hands near her chin with her elbows on the table, looking at Spike.
“Sure, what do you want to know?” Spike said, looking around the food court. It was different to Sugar Cube Corner, however, there was a familiarity to Spike.
“Well, Equestria is a land governed by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. They are the rulers over there, they are known as Princess of the Day and Night...”
“Wait, why they are called like that? Is it like they control the sun and moon?” Rarity asked in disbelief like it was a joke.
“Yeah, exactly like that,” Spike confirmed with a nod. “Princess Celestia is responsible for taking care of the kingdom over the day and raising the sun every morning.”
“And the other princess?”
“Well, she is the Princess of Night. She is responsible for the moon and the dreams of all ponies over Equestria. She travels over their dreams to fight nightmares.”
“So she is like a good Freedy Krugger, fighting nightmares rather than killing people?” Rarity asked curiously.
“Who is Freedy Krugger? Why would he kill people in their dreams?” Spike questioned surprised and afraid of who could be that kind of monster who could kill people over the dreams?
“Is just a horror story, Spike. You don't need to worry about it.” Rarity re-assured. She didn't sleep during a week after watching that kind of movie. She didn't know why Pinkie Pie forced her and her friends to do something like that.
“Well, the princesses are responsible of taking care of every Earth pony, Pegasis and Unicorn,” Spike explained. Rarity raised her hand. “Yes Rarity?” Spike queried.
“What are Earth ponies? And there are unicorns and pegasis over where are you from?” Rarity didn't waste time.
“Well, I can explain the differences between 3 races.” Spike knew that question would come up, so he decided to make a simplification of his answers. “Earth Ponies are stronger and tougher than other ponies because of their resistance and hoofwork over the lands over Equestria. They really have hard jobs using all their strength to take care of their business. It was like they could buck much harder than the other ponies. Meanwhile, the pegasis can flight and walk over the clouds, and unicorns have access over magic using their horns they are related to the pure magic.”
“So there are three races where you live?” Rarity was being more curious, with the answers just leading to more and more questions.
“Well, four actually. The alicorns have both wings and horns, like a mix of all three other races. They are the most powerful. Only the princesses or those that become so are alicorns.” Spike looked over and immediately knew Rarity had more questions. He imagined she’d want to know about the towns and cities on Equestria. Before she got an ask, he continued his explanations. “Well, there are many cities over there, Ponyville, Canterlot, Manehattan, Apple Pallooza. I don't know how much you want to know about it.”
“Wow, you even have puns for your cities’ names. It is indeed a pony country.” Rarity thought to herself.
“Hey guys, here’s your food.” Pinkie Pie brought 10 cupcakes with 2 slices of lemon pie.
“Wow, sweet,” Spike said excitedly to have a taste on these things.
“Why, thank you darling. Here, Pinkie. Have a sit and join us. Spike was talking about his home.”
“Oh Oh, it's about that land of ponies who rules a country, where he is an adopted son of one of Princess over there and there are many cities with ponies puns who are really funny to listen to?” Pinkie Pie bounced excitedly. Rarity stared wide-eyed, and Spike facepalmed.
“Thank you, Pinkie Pie,” Spike said sarcastically.
“You’re welcome.” Pinkie Pie, ignoring the sarcasm.
“Are you really the adoptive son of one of the Princesses?” Rarity questioned.
“Well, technically yes I am. But it’s really, really a long story. I don't know if you’d really want to know.” Spike dismissed.
“Well, your highness, I'm really interested to know about you, dragon prince” Rarity teased. She didn't mind the fact Spike was a prince. She was intrigued. The politics of his world seemed so strange and alien to her.
“Well, you see...” Spike took a bite of a cupcake. He paused and looked at the cupcake. He swallowed the bit he took and sighed disappointingly “Aww man. It doesn't have any gems in it?”
“Sorry Spike. That’s not what we eat here. Besides, I don’t think you can eat gems if don't have your dragon teeth. And the gems over here are really expensive.” Rarity comforted as she put her hand his shoulder.
“Aww man...” Spike sighed “Least they taste ok.” He then took another bit of the cupcake. “Well starting from the beginning. Everything happened when my best friend Twilight was a little filly...”
It took time to explain what happened between the time Twilight was a little filly until the end of the battle of Nightmare Moon. Hours but Spike finally finished his story with “And that's how Twilight and her friends saved Equestria from Nightmare Moon, and how I meet my aunt Luna.” Spike finished off the final cupcake. His two friends were awe at his story, their mouths agape.
“So, that's how you know so much about us. There’s pony equivalents of us in your world, and you’re friends with them.” Rarity stated, summing up all the information Spike had provided. It would be like impossible to believe if she hadn’t seen him fall out of the school statue.
“Yeah, pretty much.” Spike agreed with Rarity who was still trying to process all the information.
“OH MY GOSH, MY BREAK WAS OVER 2 HOURS AGO! I HAVE TO GO.” Pinkie leaped from the table and ran between all the tables, serving all the seated patrons. Rarity and Spike laughed at this commotion.
After laughing a bit, Rarity was still curious about one thing.
“Spike, how did you ended here?” Rarity asked.
“Well, this week, I could feel my mother was a bit distant. I could sense she was worrying about something. I decided to find the problem, and solve it.I think I’ve located the problem...” Spike explained, making Rarity even more curious.
“And that is?”
“Long ago, my mother had an argument with her daughter. A sister I've never meet because it was before I hatched. and that fall out still haunts my mum, and is a sore topic when somepony talks about it with her.”
“Oh, I see. Your mother had a fight with her daughter many years ago, and I'm surprised even a princess can have a problem like that.” Rarity nodded empathetically. Her mother had fought with her grandmother long ago, and they had told her how much hard it was during the years of not talking to each other. “What does this have to do with coming here?”
“I know my sister fled here to get away, but I don't know how to find her. I know she’s called Sunset Shimmer over here…” Spike looked over and saw Rarity’s face-silent and cold, expressionless “Rarity?” Spike asked, concerned.
Rarity stayed silent, the color flushed from her face. Her eyes widened as her thoughts ran wild.
“Rarity, say something.” Spike prompted when he turned around not just Rarity but Pinkie Pie was stood staring at Spike. She lost grip on the plate she was holding and it shattered on the floor. “Pinkie?”
“Girls?” Spike despaired. Then, at the same time, they screamed in unison.
Spike testified the reaction of Rarity and Pinkie Pie wasn't normal. It was like they had seen a ghost.
“Do you know about her?” Spike asked. It was clear that they knew, but Spike felt this was a good way of finding out how they knew her. Perhaps she was friends with them, and they were just surprised that she was a princess. That was the best conclusion Spike could imagine.
“Of course we know.” Pinkie shouted, making everyone look at them. “Are you really sure your sister is SUNSET SHIMMER? Absolutely, positively certain?”
Everyone looked on with palled expressions after hearing Pinkie Pie scream Sunset Shimmer’s name. The room began to murmur and whisper. The tension increased and made it a little uncomfortable. It was a different atmosphere. All eyes were on Spike and the company.
“That's... the name my mother gave to her... why?” Spike mumbled cautiously.
“Well, darling...” Rarity whispered, really trying to think how she would say the next words. “Sunset Shimmer… or the one we know…, well, she... she’s not… the princess you’re looking for… She’s a brute, she’s rude, unladylike, manipulative... and very… mean... ”
Spike was caught off guard by Rarity’s words. She was clearly trying not to offend him and to soften the blow for Spike, but he couldn’t help but wonder several things. It was a lot to take in, to hear that a sister behaved like that. Even one that Spike had never met. Then he remembered what his mother told him about his sister when she was a filly.
“Well, I guess mum did say that, when Sunset was a filly, she withdrew after… some family tragedy. After that incident Sunset never was the same, she treated everypony like they were nothing, and she bullied and made them fear her. She left Equestria after an argument with mum.” Spike sighed, placing his last cupcake down. His appetite was just gone.
Rarity could see Spike’s tone and could tell that this was a difficult topic to talk about. She put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder, and asked gently “How much close Sunset was with that relative?”
“Like he was the only family member who understood and talked to her when she was little. It was her only friend and maybe the only one she trusted most in the family.” Spike said, sighing and looking for the people around him. They were acting like they weren't looking at them, but Spike, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie knew they were trying to hear what they were talking about.
“So...” Pinkie Pie approached with 3 glasses of soda for her two friends.“Sunset came here after leaving the castle without talking to her mother?”
“Yeah, I hadn’t hatched back then. It took another 2 or 3 months before Twilight took the test and hatched me.“ Spike decided to take one of the glasses and take a sip...”Woah Pinkie this is really tasty, I never had it before, what is it?”
“Do you mean this?” Pinkie pointed at the fizzy drink with confusion, “It's called soda. Do you not have soda where you’re from?” Pinkie Pie was understandably shocked. She couldn’t believe Spike had never encountered such a common drink to her
“Well, it's really tasty. I want more, please.” Spike said, swallowing the rest of the liquid from his glass. His stomach rumbled loudly, and he started getting some looks from the people around him. Then Spike’s face filled up and he let out a loud, bellowing sound that drew many’s attention. So mighty and impressive was this sound, that others had never imagined.
Buuuuuurrp! Spike burped a magnificent, green fire with more force than he ever had. It was an impressive feat of magical display that caught people off guard. They had never seen such an act. Some were scared by it, some impressed. But one thing that was consistent, everyone that was watching took a wise, cautionary step back as they stared with wide eyes and gaping mouths, enraptured by the sight of the green flame erupting from the little spike. Rarity stood by as Spike let out a flame thousand times more potent and powerful than that little light she saw in the park when they met for the first time. Pinkie Pie rolled away from where she was, dodging the fire which approached dangerously close to her. Slowly, the cloud of burning magical force died down. Spike watched his flame fade and sighed with relief. He patted his stomach in satisfaction.
“YEAH! THE DRAGON IS BACK TO FULL POWER, BABY!” Spike cheered, grinning proudly. He was thrilled to have his terrifying flame back and could be proud again in front of Rarity and Pinkie Pie. But then he remembered he was in the middle of town. Everyone was looking at him with a mix of surprise, awe, and fear. His ear-to-ear grin turned into a small sheepish smile. He blushes slightly.
“Oops… Uhh...excuse me?” Spike said out of politeness. The change in his behavior made Rarity and Pinkie Pie giggle at the little scene.
“Now that's better. I almost thought you would be that kind of rude person who burps and doesn't have any etiquette about it, which would hardly be very princely of you. Now you are acting more like a prince. Well, except that you showed off that you can breathe fire to not just me, but everyone around.” Rarity composed herself but she was indeed impressed with his fire breath. Rarity looked at Pinkie Pie, who was lying on the floor in shock. “Hey Pinkie? Are you alright?”
“That...was...AWESOME!” Pinkie Pie yelled, jumping up from the floor in excitement “How did you do that? Can you do that again?”
“Well, I'm a dragon where I’m from so... why not?” Spike said, smiling at her, and took a deep breath…
In the royal castle over Canterlot, a meeting was sapping away all of Princess Celestia’s energy, but she didn't mind: it was the usual day-to-day problems. But after the whisper, she felt like it was Spike saying goodbye to her, which didn’t make sense. He was at the castle and she knew he wouldn’t have gone back to Ponyville yet. Lost in her thoughts, she hadn’t noticed a question from one of the nobles.
“Your highness, are you listening to me?” A voice grumbled, offended. Celestia snapped back from her thoughts, but she wasn't surprised.
“I know, Ms. FlipFlop. You want funds for the expansion of your garden so as to have a better appreciation of nature around your mansion. As I said before, you have to fill out the necessary paperwork before such an expansion.” Princess Celestia was happy to lecture the ignorant noble, who wanted to skip the established process just to make her garden bigger.
Sometimes, Celestia wanted to burn all the paperwork and flee to another place, so she could be free from her responsibilities for her kingdom. nopony would be without a good administration.
While Princess Celestia was thinking deeply during the meeting, two ponies were watching her from a distance. A noble stallion with white fur and yellow mane wearing a messed tuxedo, and a pink alicorn with a colorful mane and a tiara.
“Do you think aunty will be fine?” The pink pony whispered, making the noble stallion look at her with his eyebrow raised.
“She will be fine. Trust me. There was a time when I saw a noble mare almost lit on fire for trying to purchase a slave.” The stallion snorted, happy to see his aunt was still doing her best to compose herself. “She pissed on her dress! I never thought I would see Aunty that angry. I think there is a limit to her patience.”
The pink alicorn looked at the stallion, humming like she understood his point of view. She raised her eyebrow as she looked at his ruffled appearance.
“I think you have a point. I really don't want to make aunty that angry. While this sounds interesting, can you answer me one thing, Blueblood?” The pink pony asked the stallion.
“Yeah?” The white stallion replied curiously.
“Why are your clothes so messy? Did you try to go on another date?” The pink princess inquired after looking at his expression once again.
Blueblood rolled his eyes while he gave a smile to the pink pony near him.
“Yep, another try, another mess sis. You won't believe how many times I received a thrown coffee at my face and got my tuxedo messed up.” The white stallion gave an ironic smile, thinking of how many dates he had already messed up.
“That’s the 45th time already?” The eyes of the pink alicorn widened as she squeaked in shock. Taking the poor stallion near her on surprise.
“Okay, now I'm curious. How did you know I was blasted 45 times?” Blueblood knew he was blasted but never told anypony about it. There were many dates, even secret ones. How the pony near him knew about.
“Oh Blueblood, my dear little brother. You can try to hide from the others, but not for me.” The pink alicorn teased, using her arm to hug him. “I can count, can't I? Durr. And you said blasted on the face, not when you get burned, or mane messed, or get a slap or even was bitten.”
“HEY, that just happened once!” Blueblood snapped, as his sister giggled. Blueblood gave up on meeting thestrals after the first date he had with one where he was bitten on the flank. Blueblood sighed as he looked at his sister. “Cadance, I still don't know why I keep doing this. I don't think that still worths.”
The pink alicorn looked at her brother who was a bit disappointed. While she questioned the same thing during the years, she learned the reason behind what Blueblood was passing. She knew that would work, but it was a brutal way for tough love.
“Well, I don't know how many dates you had to take the same test. And while I still try to deny the results or the test itself, I know it will be worth it brother. I know when you find the true mare who can be on your bad side will love you even more in your true-self.” Cadance reassured, speaking with great insight. She felt that he would find a perfect mate. when it comes from the brutal way, he will find one mare with a golden heart to be on his side when he was on the worst day, and it will be loved on the best way ever when he is on his best way.
“Yeah, I know… But sometimes I hate doing that to many ponies, like I know the bluebloods have been used for many nobles and some other ponies, but you really think I could be used Cadance?” While that sounds naive, it was true, during generations the bluebloods had to deal with all kinds of nobles to have such privileges, and when it comes from true friendships and relationships they would betray their trust. Cadance knew because her aunt Celestia told many stories about how much betrayed the first and second blueblood were when they were the royalty.
“Well Blue, I know it's hard for you, but you need to learn the truth. Outside is really cruel, and we sometimes lack a true friendship. You don't know how much harder it is as a noble to have a true friend. And we do that just to be sure of one thing. you can always trust me, aunty Celestia, Luna, and Spike. But Friendship is hard to learn...” She remembered the tragedy of the first two Blueblood’s. Princess Celestia took care of all the betrayers from her family. That dark history was one they wished to forget. Princess Celestia herself took care of the third Blueblood and protected him and his generation from the same fate of their ancestors.
The third Blueblood was known by Equestria as the most brutal and dishonest pony of all Equestria, but it was when Celestia discovered his plan. He was telling lies to discover who would be worthy ponies for him to trust and only gave his friendship and love to those that fit his plan. That secret passed down the generations as the only way to determine who deserved to be trusted or who would try to betray them. That's the story behind all Blueblood’s.
Reminding themselves of their family’s story made not just Cadence, but also Blueblood happy. They could always believe in their family and the plan of their ancestors. While the noble ponies would still be a problem for them at Canterlot, there was always one thing they could count on; their family. From their point of view, everything was easier with family.
“Yeah, the family is always reliable. I know I can count on you all, but Spike won’t stop laughing at me after what happened with Ms. Belle at the Galla. There are times when I hate what I did to the other ponies. Except for Rarity; she deserved something like that.” Blueblood smiled at his giggling sister.
Cadance knew what happened from 2 points of view. From Spike who was laughing about how Blueblood ended, and from their aunt Princess Celestia who still said it was a bit too much, but knowing why Blueblood did that, she couldn't agree more for what he did. Now it was time to know the reason behind the catastrophe from the culprit himself.
“Why did you do that to her?” Cadance prodded.
“My dear sister Cadance, you forgot Spike had a crush on her since the first time he saw her at Ponyville, and she went after ME rather than him? Come on, I would not be with the love of my own family, I know I act jerk sometimes but with family? I have to say, she is not worthy of him.” Blueblood snorted laughing a bit with his sister after that disastrous party at the Galla.
While it was fun to talk to her brother, Cadance remembered her cousin should be awake by now and had breakfast. Maybe she could play with him while they were working in the courtroom, she thought. She wanted to spend some time with her cousin while he was still in Canterlot.
“Well, I should take a look at Spike soon. I know he will be upset if aunty was here all day, and if I don't play with him, I bet he’ll start getting lonely.” Cadance resolved, taking one last look at her aunt who was talking to a stallion about the plans of a new library by the school.
Blueblood nodded, knowing how Spike would be like if he was alone. He decided to let his sister take care of their cousin.
“Okay, I will tell aunty where you went. See you tonight sister?” Blueblood asked as his sister walked towards the door.
“Sure. Bye blue.” Cadance smiled at her brother before leaving the room.
“That's okay Spike, it happens with everyone, don't take yourself too hard.” Rarity said with a gentle voice, trying to cheer Spike after the same thing happened the first time he tried to breathe fire. It was a tiny ember again.
Spike after seeing his tiny ember again, he blushed so hard and jumped under the table, trying to hide from the others.
“I don't know what went wrong, I thought it was going to be like before, and not like that miserable flame again,” Spike said sniffing in shame under the table, while Rarity was still up, she could hear his voice was in shame.
“I have to say, that was impressive...” Pinkie Pie said innocently but like in a bit of sarcasm over it, but after receiving a glare from Rarity she became sheepish while the others felt empathy with the boy who was smiling not just 10 minutes ago, and now he was ashamed he wasn't going to get out from under the table.
“Maybe it was something you did before trying darling, didn't you do something before the second try who made the fire breath more powerful than the first and third try? If we find something that can help you with your problem, you could fire breath again as you did before.” Rarity asked that question because if Spike was sad she could sense almost heartbroken with that little boy near to her.
“Well, I came here, ate a lot, and then I drank what Pinkie brought to me, then after I drank a glass I breathed fire,” Spike said, wiping his tears near his face while they could hear him from the table.
“Well, and what if you try to drink that glass again and give another try? Maybe that makes you fire breath again, can you do that for me? Please.” Rarity asked Spike, smiling using puppy eyes and a tiny voice, making Spike sigh leaving the table and getting up.
“Okay, I will try,” Spike said looking at Pinkie Pie who was holding a glass of soda to him.
After another huge fireblast, everyone inside of the Sugarcube Corner cheered for the boy who was happy for another amazing fireshot inside of there.
“UHUUUU.” Pinkie Pie cheered looking at the green flame passing over many candles over the cake.
Spike was breathing a bit tired and sweating, but the smile over all the people over there made him feel better. Rarity gave him a towel to clean his face from his sweating.
“Okay guys I think I did enough for today,” Spike said, smiling to the group of boys and girls watching him from their table.
“Awwwww.” Many people said that making Spike smile even more.
“Sorry guys, but I cannot breathe fire forever, I had to drink a lot of soda to make my flames go outside. But well, thank you for everypo...everyone enjoy it.” Spike thanked everyone over there who was watching him and cheered for him.
“Well I have to say, you can change your mode really quick.” Rarity said using her hand to staff her giggle.
“What can I say? I live with someone who freaks out with little things, trust me, it was a nightmare you don't want to live in.” Spike said, chuckling remembering his friend.
“So later you can tell me about your friends?” Rarity asked interested for more stories about the little dragon near her.
“Off...” Spike was going to answer when the door was blasted with a powerful kick.
“WHAT THE HELL IT'S GOING ON HERE?” An angry voice took the attention of everyone inside there making everyone look around to a girl who was wearing a black jacket with yellow and red hair, she watched everyone get cold and took a step back.
She approached the table who was Spike, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity looking at her.
Spike noticed the girls near him were trying to avoid contact with the girl who was approaching them.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” The girl smiled deviously at the girls near him, scared about her, she liked the way they feared her, while the boy who was looking at her had a funny face. She was watching the boy during minutes over the window on the Sugarcube Corner and was surprised, but she would not let them know about it. She needed to show them their place, even the new boy. “A new guy, well I never thought someone was capable of doing something like you did, blast fire, what do you freak are you doing here?”
The word freak makes Rarity and Pinkie Pie turn around to her ready to argue but Spike chuckled from her speech making everyone look at him.
“Freak? That was an old one, well yeah, I heard that a lot, but I don't mind because the flame was inside of me, is the same flame of my spirit burning for friendship and family love ready to take over the world.” Spike said proudly of himself making the girls giggling from his silly speech.
Sunset raised her eyebrow, she could not believe how much silly someone could say something so stupid like that to her, while she could have used many provocations, she could guess he couldn't be hit from her provocation and teasing, even some threats, maybe she could give up. It was too silly to continue that conversation, maybe it was time for another try.
“Oh, and where did you find that cute little one?” While sounding sarcastic, she could see the boy didn't mind from the sarcastic voice, and that made her a bit annoyed.
“My mother taught me, using silly words against harsh words makes all the discussion unworthy of time and makes the bullies stop to find something they can use against me,” Spike said rationally, making everyone looking at him in surprise.
Sunset was speechless, she could say she couldn't try an argument with someone who could just use silly sentences because it would make her angry and annoyed for the time she lost, and that boy strategy was exactly like that, she could see that boy being a good player while sounding silly, he was smart.
“I know I'm a dragon, I know I'm new here, and I don't care what the bullies or even you say about me. I just care for my family and my friends say about me. And if you are not my family or even my friend, so I have nothing to talk with you, excuse me but I have to go.” Spike sounded serious after taking a look at that girl who was in front of him. He knew from his childhood how much mean the ponies were looking at him as a monster, but after what his mother and friends told about him, he has his rights as many ponies over Equestria and if that wasn't enough, he could say to his mother and she would make that ponies regret to mess with him.
So that's why he doesn't want to waste his time with bullies, just with friends.
“Alright Rarity, let's go, I think I had enough,” Spike said getting up, and ready to get out of the Sugarcube Corner. He grabbed Rarity's hand and decided to get out from there.
“But Spike...” It sounded weak, but it was enough for Spike to listen, he saw Rarity holding his hand and her face with worry and concern for him.
“Yeah?” Spike didn't know why she was acting like that so he waited to hear the last thing he wanted to remember and discover.
“She is Sunset Shimmer.” Rarity let it out getting ready for the suddenly future reaction.
Spike's mind heard the sound of cracking and crashing glasses inside his mind, and broken glasses the inside of his world were destroyed after he stopped his track.
He admitted to Sunset, Rarity nodded, then he looked at Pinkie Pie, who was even worse than Rarity, looking at Pinkie she nodded as well, then he appointed him, they both nodded to him. Spike waited some seconds, while Sunset didn't know what's going on, she could see he couldn't expect she was Sunset.
“WHAT? IS SHE SUNSET?” Spike let it out an outburst making everyone jump in surprise and then suddenly shout from him.
It wasn't a surprise to his reaction, everyone could imagine what would happen if something like that when her lost brother found out who she was, everyone over there knew who he was, minus one.
“Yeah, I'm Sunset Shimmer, but what that is it about? Why did you change your mode just because of me? Are you afraid of me?” Sunset took that opportunity to make her name known again, maybe he listened about her, and the things she did to get what she wanted. She smiled while she said those questions.
“BECAUSE HE IS SPIKE, THE PRINCE OF EQUESTRIA AND YOUR BROTHER.” Pinkie Pie screamed like it was the spoiler of the century around Canterlot, it was like a Mexican novel she watched many times in her childhood, and she couldn't take that secret anymore.
Sunset's smile dropped as with her mouth as some moments later, her mind freezes from the words as:
“Prince of...EQUESTRIA? And my what?” Sunset asked like it was impossible something like that happens to her, on that same day, and in that same moment, she saw Spike, looking at her in the same way.
“IS SHE SUNSET SHIMMER? MY LOST SISTER?” Spike screamed like it was impossible, even he was seeing with his own eyes, he would never believe what Rarity and Pinkie Pie said to him, they said she was bad, but not that jerk like she was trying to be with him.
“WAIT, WHY SHE SAID YOU ARE MY BROTHER?” Sunset screamed like it must be a joke, a funny and terrible joke, she would make the one who made it pay really hard, she believed it was a joke or a prank, if it was Rainbow Dash she would take all her soccer balls over the gym and home. She refused to believe someone from Equestria came there and said he is her brother.
“EVERYTHING NOW IS GOING TO BE CRAZY...” Rarity screamed holding her head, she imagined that would be both of their reactions, she wanted to calm down everything, and now she was going to get crazy like everyone around her but one hand was put on her mouth.
“SHHHHHHHHHHH” Pinkie Pie said, taking attention of everyone. She looked on the left and right in suspicion of something. She waited for everyone be in silence and said like a whisper. “Can you hear that?”
Everyone was quiet, trying to understand what she meant, the only thing they were making was an awkward silence.
“Hear what?” Rarity mover Pinkie's hand over her mouth and questioned what she means about hearing something.
Pinkie Pie smiled and imitated on the scene using her hands like she was going to make an explosion.
“Minds blowing away. Boom.” Pinkie Pie whispered making an imaginary explosion using her hands over her hair.
Spike and Sunset were sitting in front of each other, Rarity and Pinkie Pie could feel the tension in the air, it would make sense Spike wasn't expecting to see his sister too soon. And knowing Sunset Shimmer she didn't make a good first impression.
Both were looking at each other, while the Sugarcube Corner was completely silent, nobody dared to make a sound, knowing the little boy who was breathing fire was Sunset Shimmer's brother was the news that nobody ever could imagine it happening.
Sunset looked on Spike's eyes, then on his hair, then his body, and looked at the clothes he was wearing. It was like he was using the royal clothes from Canterlot Castle.
“So “little brother” how was your first impression on trying to walk on two feet for the first time?” Sunset said the word little brother in a venous voice making the girls flinch with her tone of voice.
“Actually it wasn't so difficult, I used to walk on two feet when I was on Equestria,” Spike said, smiling at her, ignoring her tone of voice making her surprised.
“How could you walk on two feet? If you were a pony you cannot do that or even breathe fire. Not even unicorns have that kind of ability on Equestria.” Sunset asked in disbelief not understanding how Spike was capable of doing that kind of thing that would be considered not normal in Equestria.
“Well, first I'm not a pony, I'm a dragon...” Spike was answering her question when he was interrupted.
“A dragon?! How could mo… Princess Celestia keep a dragon in Canterlot? Don’t they live far away from Canterlot?” Sunset questioned despite her disbelief.
“Well, she found my egg, and when I was hatched Mom decided to raise me as her son! I didn't know where I came from until now, but Mom raised me like I was important to her… just like you.” Spike explained kindly wanting to remind Sunset she is part of his family.
“Humpf. Try to talk to another filly... I mean... girl, to believe that. I'm pretty sure about what she told you about me. I'm the black sheep of our family... So why are you here anyway? Did you come here just to show yourself how much your life is better than mine? And how are you better than me in comparison to our family?” Sunset didn't buy anything Spike said to her, as her mood was really becoming unstable. “Because I think you are doing a really good job.”
“What!? No, of course not!” Spike said in disbelief. “Why would you think that? I came here just for you...”
Sunset raised an eyebrow, not knowing why somepony or dragon would come that far just for her.
“Are you really telling the truth? Did you travel to another dimension just for me? What do you want from me, my little dragon brother?”
She knows he wants something, and she will not give that so easily. But didn’t expect what he would ask next.
“Please...won’t you come back home?” Spike asked sincerely and hopefully.
Sunset Shimmer froze in the place. The level of pressure on the others in the bakery had been much reduced, but the question shocked not only Sunset, but the others as well. Sunset’s mouth opened and closed fruitlessly as she tried to find the right words to simple tell off the green-haired boy.
“Are you really suggesting that I come back with you?” Sunset asked, suspicious of his behavior. “Do you even know why I came here in the first place?
“I'm aware of what happened, Sunset, and I have to say this: you don't need to stay here anymore. Just come back home with me... and please talk to Mom. I know she will listen to you because she misses you.” Spike offered his hand to her, only to have it suddenly slapped away by Sunset’
“THAT'S A LIE AND YOU KNOW IT.” Sunset Shimmer punched the table with her other hand, causing those present in the store to leap in surprise.“She banished me from the castle in the first place! I know I did a lot of bad things when I was a filly, but that’s just who I am! I was just curious, I didn’t want to use dark magic in the first place! I just wanted to read it! I WAS TREATED UNFAIRLY!”
Spike simply stood and let her scream at him, not making a sound himself until she had finished. The silence hung in the air like an echo, and Sunset still was stood ready to argue with him. But things wouldn’t happen as she had expected.
“Are you done?” Spike asked worriedly.
Sunset's expression melted from aggression to disbelief as she looked at his calming visage.
“I know what you’re trying to do, Sunset, but I lived with a pony who freaks out over far less than something like this. We can keep talking after you calm down, okay?”
Everybody froze in place. Pinkie Pie's mouth dropped to the floor (literally), while Rarity clasped a hand to her mouth in shock. Spike continued to look at Sunset as she analyzed what he had said.
“What exactly are you implying?” Sunset sneered at him.
“I know it's tempting to talk while enraged, but I need you to keep calm for us to have a productive conversation. Believe me, I had to talk down not one, but six stubborn ponies after the Grand Galloping Galla once; I ended up drinking cocoa and scarfing down a doughnut with extra sprinkles.” He emphasized the last words making everyone in the room glance at each other.
While nobody could understand the last words from that sentence, Sunset winced after the last two words, “extra sprinkles”. Deep down she knew the meaning of that order. Her sneer melted away, showing sadness and melancholy. She gave a defeated sigh showing now it wasn’t a good time to be angry anymore. Especially in front of her little brother.
“That night was that bad?” Sunset asked with a weak smile, showing herself she had finally calmed down. But receiving a nod from her brother, made her look at the past with melancholy. Remembering the times she was a little filly. “I remember when I was a filly, I just order doughnuts with extra sprinkles when I was having the worst day of my life.”
Sunset remembered when she was a filly and had the worst day of her life and she was starting to be depressed that simple dessert would make her day close with a good ending and with hope to the next day would be better, even if that day would be the worst day of her life.
“Yeah… Mom told me when bad times happen, extra sprinkles would make the difference.” Spike said smiling with himself.
“Yeah...so do I.” Sunset assumed the nostalgia over her favorite part of her life when she was sad and frustrated. She glanced at the pink girl near them, Sunset knew she worked over the bakery. “YOU.”
Sunset pointed to Pinkie Pie making her meep over her place.
“Yes, Sunset?” Pinkie Pie was really surprised and feared a bit from the sudden change of talk.
“2 cocoas and 2 doughnuts with EXTRA Sprinkle. You hear me? I and my brother want an extra special sprinkle over our doughnuts and if you don't accomplish this task I will teach you how to walk using just your hair.” Sunset said smiling deviously to her threatening Pinkie Pie making her pale.
“I really want to learn that… but not this way, and not today… EXTRA sprinkles coming.” Pinkie Pie rushed over to the kitchen.
“Sunset. That wasn't very nice.” Spike said sadly to her disapproving the way she made Pinkie Pie scared wasn't very nice to him.
“What? We need that, right? Oh… How much I missed Pony Joe’s bakery. I would love that kind of thing inside my body… in my stomach of course.” Sunset said smiling while making all the boys around blush furiously.
“Sunset, Pinkie Pie is a friend, you shouldn't act that way with friends,” Spike said, determined to her.
“She isn't my friend, whose friend do you think she is?” Sunset said denying while showed interest in his change of behavior from lovely and calm to courageous, stupid but courageous.
“Well, she is my friend. And I hope you respect her because she is really great when it comes to parties or when it comes to making the other laugh. And she likes everybody, you know I think she could be a great friend to you.” Spike said making all the people shock from a battle of words, nobody couldn't talk Sunset Shimmer like that and still live, so how that boy who was supposed to be her brother was talking like if it was a normal day in his life, and the worst part, she was acting like she was enjoying talking to him. It must be a joke over there and wasn't a funny one because nobody was laughing.
“Me and her, friends? Ha. I have pretty high expectations from such things as “friendship.” I'm the queen of this world, my class, and school, I don't need friends.” Sunset said with a sarcastic laugh and enjoyed calling herself a queen of the school.
“And how about Corazion?” Spike said the name Sunset Shimmer never thought it would hear again, she was afflicted, but then after she was with fire on her eyes and narrowed with anger and rage.
“Never say his name ever again.” Sunset coldly said, and the sound of her voice made everyone shrive in their places, and even Spike gulped after looking inside of Sunset, and he could see her pain in her eyes.
“I know he was really important to you Sunset, he was your first friend and part of the family. And I don't want to replace him, but I want to follow his steps. Sunset, the family should be the first friends we should have and as your brother, I want to offer my friendship to you. And prove to you friendship is a thing you worth it.” Spike offered again his hand and while he was there, Pinkie Pie brought the two cocoas with two cherry over the cup and two perfect donuts with sprinkles covering them.
Sunset didn't slap his palm like the first time, but she didn't take either, she just stood up and took the cup of cocoa. Looking at the nervous Pinkie Pie, she decided to ignore the pink girl and had her cup while she closed her eyes.
After taking the first bite over the donut, everyone was silent until Sunset finished her donut making everyone looking at Pinkie Pie making her sweat like a river, she was indeed feeling apprehensive.
Sunset finished her meal and walked upon Pinkie Pie, she was so scared it would be funny to Sunset, she would joke about that, but she decided better not...yet. Maybe another day, now she decided to follow one piece of advice of someone over there.
“You achieved my expectations Pinkie Pie, and I will listen to my brother this time.” Sunset didn't look at Pinkie Pie's eyes, and saying brother this time, showed a bit of carefulness over it and wasn't so forceful like she did first. “Sorry for screaming at you and being mean with you. And thank you, it was really delicious.”
The last part sounded more like a whisper just for Pinkie Pie, and her eyes went wide and her brain froze in her place.
“No problem...” Pinkie Pie whispered making Sunset grin with Pinkie disbelief.
She left some money for that dessert and walked to the door. And looked to the boy with purple skin and green hair for the last time.
“I assume you don't have a place to stay yet right?” Sunset said pushing the door. Making everybody look at Spike who found out that at the same time. Spike nodded to his sister, while she smiled a bit to Spike, she found somebody near to him, making her decide to do something. “You, Rarity.”
Sunset admitted again to them but this time on the stylish girl near Spike who was shocked as well.
“Y...Yes…?” Her voice sounded forced, and she was a bit scared of what she was going to do.
“You and the Pink gi… No, I mean Pinkie Pie are both responsible for taking care of my little brother for a few days until I take care of some business, and if something happens to him… I swear, I will do everything to destroy your friendship with all the girls you meet and everyone around you. And I mean it.” Sunset didn't look at them, but her voice made all their spines shivered in fear. Making Pinkie Pie gulp and Rarity eyes became wide.
“Hum...Okay.” Rarity didn't know what to say next, she was now responsible for the brother from the only one she hates and fears over the school. And something is odd on Sunset, was she smiling?
“Okay, then my friends...” Sunset said lightly and smiled walking away from Sugarcube Corner.
It was devastated, the place feels like a desert where the breeze was following all the place, nobody knew what happened and don't have any comments about it, except one.
“Wait...” Pinkie Pie finally recovered to her senses. “Does that mean now are we Sunset Shimmer's friends?”
“I think so darling.” Rarity sighed as she never expected that turn of events over there.
“Not even me could imagine things like that happening. Now we are friends with Sunset Shimmer.” Pinkie Pie was saying like her mouth was filled with disbelief and lies.
“Well, after meeting her, I think she is really cool,” Spike said, making everybody look at him in disbelief. “What?” . . . Sunset left the Sugarcube corner with a smile but that smile suddenly dropped at the same time as her tears flowed over her face. Sunset walked faster until found a place to let out her tears.
She punched the wall near her making a bit of noise over her punch.
“Dammit, I couldn't let him go. I wasn't expecting Spike would say his name.” Sunset said to herself after wiping her tears from her face. And went straight to the street but the memories were still flowing inside her mind and heart as like she could hear the voice of someone she loved so much as a filly.
“Sunset, remember that. The first friend you should have in your life is your relatives, because one day even if your friends wouldn't believe in you, your family will always be there for you.” The old stallion looked at her. A scarlet unicorn with brown mane and sharp yellow straights on his mane and tail. And a giggling voice making him look at her lovely like an old grandfather.
“Like you Corazion?” A tiny voice made the old stallion chuckle with him.
“You better bet on it. Like me, but Sunset my tiny cousin, you need to be friendly with your cousin Cadance.” The old stallion said in concern while showing wisdom and paternal love.
“Her? She is awful Corazion, she is so perfect in many things, she is like she just does everything perfect just to annoy me, and I have a feeling she wants to take my place. I hate her because of that.” Sunset said angry, while her voice sounded cute, the same way that made the old stallion look at her sadly.
“Sunset… I know you have issues with her, but please understand that family is family, never would betray the ones they would love most. And if you start just making friends would be the best way to defeat your enemies. Better making friends than enemies, that's it...”
“OUR BEST LINE.” Said Sunset excited and giggling after receiving a hug from the old stallion.
“That's right my tiny grand-cousin. And love is the best way to understand family, hate, wrath, and sadness happen to everypony, even families, however, love it's what makes everything better and explain what we are missing in our lives.” Corazion took Sunset and hugging her made Sunset Shimmer snaps from her flashback.
While her tears were even more than before.
“Corazion… I missed you so much...” Sunset said walking away.

Spike and his friends were still stunned after receiving a different treatment they imagined from Sunset Shimmer, Spike could say it would have an argument but it didn't end awfully, so that's a win for him, maybe after some days of trying he could convince her to come back to Equestria.
Rarity was stunned almost in the same way, however, receiving a threat from Sunset just to make sure Spike is well caught her off guard, she was willing to offer her house to him if that was the case, but the way she sounded it was like Sunset Shimmer wasn't acting like a bully but as a worried sister, like Rarity thinks herself when it comes about her sister. She would do the same thing.
“Wait, that does it really mean I'm now friends with Sunset Shimmer?” Rarity still tried to process what just happened, it was just a dream and a nightmare at the same time.
Pinkie Pie was thinking almost the same, now it was their responsibility to take care of Spike, and now they are “friends” with the bully of the school Sunset Shimmer. Pinkie Pie tried some times to act friendly and maybe convince her from her own methods but in the end, the result was really really bad. But now, not just her is a friend of Sunset's brother and takes care of him but if she messes up, Sunset would try everything to make all the friendships she has destroyed.
Pinkie Pie gulped in fear.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Suddenly something came inside of Spike and he screamed, making everyone around them look at him.
“What's the matter, Spike?” Rarity asked worried about something they could let out.
“MY MOM, I FORGOT I TOLD HER I WAS HERE.” Spike raised his hands on his mind in panic. “If she finds out I'm not in the Castle, she would try to make all the royal guards look for me around all Equestria.”
Spike's concern is really believable. His friends knew that it really wouldn't end badly if they don't do something.
“Wait,” Spike remembered something making his friends stop being concerned. “I still have my fire breath, so I still can send messages, I need a scroll and an ink feather.”
“Got it.” Pinkie Pie took both from her hair and gave them to Spike.
“Pinkie… how did you have that inside on your hair?” Rarity raised her eyebrow after looking at the speed of Pinkie Pie giving the objects to Spike.
“It's for drama club at Canterlot High, you don't know how much people asked me about that.” Her answer just gave more questions than answers, she was about to ask who but then Spike cut her.
“It's Pinkie, why are you questioning?” Spike asked after writing something on the scroll. “And done.”
Rarity never thought someone could write so quickly and so clear over a scroll using a feather on the first try, it was like watching someone having experiences over the Medieval Era.
Rarity read his scroll and took a look over his style of writing, it was indeed impressive while the message is cute.
“Okay, now I just need fire.” Spike took another glass of soda. “Okay, here we go.”
Spike let out a green controlled flame over the scroll making incineration over it.
“I just hope this works.” Spike let out a prayer over his magic.

Princess Celestia was still dealing with all her advisers and royal meetings over the day, she was wishing that day would end quickly just for her to have time to rest with her family, thankfully she just needed just more than two hours to finish Princess Luna wake up and raise the Moon. She can't wait to have time about the stupidity she had to deal with over the day. Her forced smile was more natural after thinking about Spike, but something odd came inside of her, it was like a message from Spike, and the scroll came in front of her.
“Aww, I think my son was missing me.” She thought to herself, however, her eyes noticed something different over the scroll, it was a different material, and the color was paler than the usual scroll of Canterlot.
She scanned the scroll one more time before opening it and read it to herself. Her eyes opened wide in disbelief after looking at the message over it.
“Hi mom, I know you were busy taking the royal meeting, and I don't want to take much of your time, because I don't know if my fire breath works over here. Well, I was walking inside of the castle and suddenly I slipped and crashed on the mystery door. I found many things and even a mirror over there… I know what are you thinking and yes, I did that…
Sorry, mom but I want you and my sister Sunset Shimmer to make amends, and I think it's my job from now on. I know you will be angry and even really upset, but I cannot look at you the same way as yesterday when you were really sad about how you regretted letting Sunset go.
And I met her, she is a bully over here, but I think she is just needing our support and friendship, I will teach her what friendship means, and I know it will be almost an impossible task, but that's for family matters. Sorry about not telling you sooner, but I forgot how my magic works here, or if it works. If you are reading this, please give me an answer… Forever your baby dragon. Spike Solaris the Dragon… “
Celestia let out a single tear, making all the nobles look at her guessing what was on the letter.
“The meeting is over,” Celestia said in soft and calm tones. And not what the noble ponies wanted to hear.
“Wait your highness there is a lot...” The noble pony was trying to argue with her but a stomp made an echo over the throne room.
“I said...THE MEETING IS OVER, NOOOOOW.” Princess Celestia let out a powerful Canterlot Royal Voice making all the ponies tremble in fear and run away from the throne room.
There is a rule over the nobles when they have a meeting with the Princess, if she uses the Royal Canterlot Voice, blast the doors and run away and forget everything you have with her because if she is angry she could make things you could regret later.
That's what many nobles keep telling themselves, and that day was one of them, after leaving the throne room. Celestia's stomps were like fire, quickly and hot.
Celestia was angry with the nobles, but she was worried about Spike, she wanted to go to the mirror as quickly as possible. She decided to run like a flaming rocket over the corridors.
Blue Blood watched his aunt's mode changes and decided to follow her, trying to make her calm. He galloped the most quickly as possible, almost taking a safe distance for him to talk to Princess Celestia.
“Aunty, what is the problem? What happened for you to be so worried?” Blue Blood called for his aunt and she just looked behind her with tears over her face, and with a powerful stomp, she stopped herself.
“Blue, Spike… disappeared.” Princess Celestia said just 3 words.
But those 3 words were necessary to make Blue Blood sweat and make his world upside down.
“WAIT, SPIKE? HOW, WHEN? WHERE? CALL THE GUARDS, WE NEED TO FIND HIM.” Blue Blood screamed to all the butlers and maids making them run over the doors following his orders to call the guards, there is one thing he was feeling like his aunt now… Panic.
Panic because a lost prince could make attempts of war, revolutions, possible internal plans. Blue Blood was thinking about some traitors over the kingdom, he blamed himself for not taking care of them sooner if they did something with Spike… Blue Blood will not show mercy for those traitorous ponies. Now he needs to call all the guards and call them to cross over Equestria to find Spike.
Shining Armor was the first pony he was going to call first. Because his sister Mi Amore Cadenza was Shining Armor's fiance, and his sister was the pony who hatched Spike and was his best friend from his life. Shining Armor would take that so personal, he could give his life to find Spike. He knew that...
After looking into the eyes of despair and mumbling many ideas, Princess Celestia remembered her letter from Spike, what she was thinking, Spike now is going to live in another dimension and meet Sunset, maybe his plan could work… However, she needed to be sure he was going to be okay over there… She found Blue Blood still feared and worried, so she finally calmed down and embraced her nephew.
“Don't worry Blue Blood, the guards wouldn't find him because he is not on Equestria...He is on another dimension, it's not what you were thinking, please calm down...” Princess Celestia knew the internal problems and her nephew's suspicion, but the way he was in a panic, was what she was needing to compose herself and finally calm down.
The words from his aunt just made him have more questions than answers.
“What do you mean about other dimensions? And why are you so calmed after you told me he disappeared?” Blue Blood was confused but trying to calm down, he was royalty, he learned how to keep calm in some situations but that was just insane, he was supposed to calm down his aunty and not the reverse.
Princess Celestia giggled looking at her nephew, she could see he was worried about his cousin, and that was time for not just him but her niece to have a conversation.
“Come with me Blue, and find your sister, I have one thing to tell you two.” The sun Princess was followed by her nephew in a path, still looking at the scroll “I'm glad he still can send message to me”
It didn't take much time until Blue Blood found Cadance and led her to the room where Princess Celestia was waiting for both of them.
Cadance was the first one who discovered Spike disappeared, she tried desperately to find him all over the castle, she even talked with the guards to look on near the castle just to be sure, and the answer was negative. She started to cry until her brother came after her explaining what happened with their cousin.
She galloped as quickly as possible just to find her aunt and to answer her questions.
“AUNTIE.” Shouted Cadance after entering what supposed to be an abandoned room where to hide and store all the old stuff from the castle. She saw Celestia looking at one medallion and the mirror in front of her.
“ Cadance, come here, there's one thing I want to share with you and your brother.” Princess Celestia's face looked what was a mix of feelings, she was serious but sad and with regret of something.
Cadance approached slowly to her aunt and received a hug from her, making her feel more relaxed.
Blue Blood was the next one near them after coming near them.
“Aunty, can you explain what this room is over here? I know this room was closed for years I could remember. So why are we here anyway?” Blue Blood decided to go directly on the point and made 3 very good questions about it.
The Princess gave a sigh imagining how many times that day tormented her until now. She let out a tear.
“A long time ago, when you were foals, I adopted my first student and what supposed to be my daughter… Sunset Shimmer.”
The sound of somepony thumb over the floor made not just Princess Celestia but Blue Blood gasp in surprise.
“Candace.” Blue Blood shouted in shock and worried over his sister on the floor.
Princess Celestia made Cadance faint from where she was.
“What happened with Cadance aunty?” Blue Blood asked, looking Cadance still on the floor like she received a powerful shock.
“Well, Blue Blood, I never imagined Cadance still remembered about Sunset...” Celestia murmured in surprise but made Blue Blood's ears catch the sentence.
“Wait, they knew each and other?” Blue Blood asked in surprise.
“It's more complicated than that,” Celestia said while she remembered Sunset arguing and fighting Cadance every time she had a chance, she could see Sunset hating Cadance even at that tiny age. It was her fault she couldn't see the reason behind it, and how in the end made this course.
Blue Blood wanted to ask more, but he decided to not force his aunt because his sister was still on the floor.
“I will go to the kitchen and catch something to try to wake her up. I will be back soon.” Blue Blood leaves the room with a fainted princess of love and their aunt who was thinking of one thing.
“I didn't think about her feelings as well, I thought she moved on about everything she passed during these years.” Celestia found the letter she wrote to Cadance when she was going to give the mirror as a gift for her marriage. “I almost made another mistake again, Spike… You did the right thing, I'm proud of you my son.”

As the ashes over the table and the burned scent were removed from the place, the Sugarcube corner became used from that “interesting” demonstration of what supposed to be one of the people they never imagined around there.
Pinkie Pie worked harder than before to accomplish her tasks, while everyone over the place decided to come back from their places and enjoy the rest of the afternoon eating and talking between themselves.
Spike was full of eating and drinking a lot, even going to another dimension, the differences between his own world version of Sugarcube Corner than this one, Pinkie stills Pinkie, the candies still good, just soda it would be a good thing to drink. He never found it a kind of drink like that. It was really enjoyable, but he couldn't imagine what would happen if he drank something like that on Equestria.

“Spike?” A voice snapped him from his own thoughts, Rarity cleared her through before smiling gently at him. “You spaced out for a while. Could you tell me what you were thinking?”
“Well it's not so much, it's just this world is so the same and different in the same time as my world, while we are humans, over there you were ponies, and I was thinking if I would find people like my friends over my world,” Spike said feeling really nostalgic, he didn't know how much time he would spend over there and he was already missing his old land. It was normal, then he let out a chuckle. “Like, if Rainbow Dash from my world finds this soda she would make pranks on me for many days and even with possible dragons.”
Rarity giggled at the way Spike thought about her friend.
“So you know about Rainbow Dash? Well, what can you tell me about her on your version of her?” Rarity said interested in what thinks about her friends.
“Well, she is energetic when she wants to fly, she is the quickest pegasus over Equestria, she could clean the sky in 10 seconds, I was surprised when she did that, and her biggest dream it's to join the Wonderbolts, she is really a fanatic. Like she literally is like a fanfilly around them. While she has problems with her personality, I still think she is the most loyal pony for her friends. Even if she annoys me a bit.” Spike said sincerely the good points of what he thinks about Rainbow Dash, while she sometimes is annoying to him, he admires her from the way she is loyal to her friends and the stories they share together.
“Impressive, while I don't know what is Wonderbolts but I would say they are her heroes.” Rarity listened to the way Spike told Rainbow Dash, and while some words he said doesn't make much sense to her, she knew some parts of the counterpart of her friend are really loyal to her own version of her friend.
“Yeah” Spike let out a sigh smiling at Rarity receiving a good and warming smile from her. He could feel his heartbeat faster, so he shocked his head.
Rarity noticed the way he was blushing, and she giggled from his cute side.
“Well? What do you think about Applejack anyway? I know you already met my friends so I think it was obvious you know about her and her family.” Rarity had a conclusion about how Spike knew the names, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and herself; she could imagine he knew about Applejack and Fluttershy as well.
“ Yeah, Applejack is the most hoof-work mare I ever see, she is stubborn sometimes, but who isn't? I cannot blame her desire to challenge herself on the limits just to help her family, she is the most honest pony I ever see, she could see the ponies who are lying in front of her, I don't know if that is something about her representation of harmony, or her life of being honest every day. But she is one of the best friends me and Twilight would have.” Spike couldn't deny the thoughts about the element of Honesty, Applejack was one of his best friends, while having problems, she was one who could be honest with not just for the others, but to herself as well.
“Now tell me about it Fluttershy,” Rarity asked next, making Spike think about it about other of his friends.
“Well, if kindness wouldn't be her element I don't know what would be, while she is shy and frightened about many things, she is courageous when she wants and the most kind pony in all Equestria. She understands all the animals around her, and trust me, you wouldn't like to receive her stare, it makes your skin shrive.” Spike said, receiving a laugh not just about him but to Rarity as well. “She is so kind but has a bit of shyness. I really would like to help her with that thing, but I don't think I could help anyway, so that's why she has good friends like Twilight and the rest to help her to resolve her problems. With friendship.”
Rarity was really perceptive the way Spike told his friends, while he was sounding out from the full picture, she could see he was happy being in the place he was, like a shadow behind them, she didn't like to see something like that. She wanted to make him feel happier in some way.
“And what do you think about the Rarity from your own world?” Spike was distracted from the way he was talking about his friends, and his answer surprised her in the way she wasn't thinking.
“Rarity is the most beautiful unicorn in all Equestria, she is gentle, generous, elegant, kind, beautiful, her voice is warm and soft, she is the mare of my dreams and...” Spike forgot he was talking about Rarity in front of her own counterpart, he stopped when he remembered who he was talking to… His blush could be a comparison of pepper on the day of harvest. He did get up. “Pinkie where is the bathroom?”
“ First door on the left, why are you...” Pinkie Pie didn't finish her sentence; she saw a blur of Spike running in the bathroom. “What just happened?”
Rarity giggled from her place.
“Adorable, he is a cute boy, it seems that Rarity has the same thoughts as me, he is a bit too young for her but wants to keep his crush developing, but I have to say, that’s a bit unfair for the poor boy. What does that pony Rarity is thinking? I think it’s a better idea to find him a better crush and relationship than making him stay near her all the time.” Rarity thought to herself, smiling at the possibility of who would be lucky enough to have a cute boy and dragon as a boyfriend.
She always despised the idea of long the inevitable, so why take long? If you can make shortcuts? Rarity decided to take a cellphone and make a list of possible girls who would find Spike interesting, A cute boy, a dragon, a prince. 3 for 1, if she tells this gossip, it wouldn’t be a surprise if thousands of girls wouldn’t be on his feet begging to make them as his mate.
Suddenly a splash of water made Cadence wake up from her sudden shock.
“Where am I? What happened?” Cadence raised her body quickly from the place she was at, and looking at her brother holding a bowl and a sandwich with his magic.
“You fainted during some time, our aunty told me you had a complicated relation with our cousin.” Blueblood decided to be direct and even gave to her a sandwich of hay and flowers.
While she looked down and turned her head away, she used her magic to accept the sandwich from her brother and take a bite. She sighed imagining the face of wrath from Sunset Shimmer.
“I just wanted to help, and in the end I just helped somepony I didn’t want to, I thought I did that to protect her, and some years ago I discovered how much hypocrite I was. All the bullies and hate quotes she said to me, I still remember. And still hurts to think that words were said because of my actions.” Cadence looked at her brother, trying to hold her feelings, she would cry at night just remembering the fierce look Sunset did to her last time before she leaves Equestria.
“You don’t have anything to blame Cadence, you were just learning about your powers, it was growing inside of you, even if you wanting or not. In the end you learned how to use it.” Princess Celestia told her niece to her cheer up, even knowing what happened in that fateful day.
“Yeah, but try to say that the first pony who make you ascend to alicornhood was the same pony you used to destroy your own family, after that day I learned how much I did wrong, and everything makes sense to me, just knowing his name made me almost breakdown. The first pony who should make me ascend it was supposed to be Sunset, not the pony who I just made everything worse at her life.” Cadance showed her face, now with tears and what supposed to be fear about imagining how Sunset would look at her now. Still hating her.
“Okay, hold up. I’m still trying to understand what happened over here, can somepony explain?” Blueblood peek up with his ears trying to understand what happened.
“Well… My relationship with Sunset wasn’t the best, actually was the opposite. She hated me… hated me with everything she had. I knew I was popular when I was filly because I was a noble and smart filly, with good magic. And everypony around me was avoiding Sunset when she was trying to make friends. That was the first reason she hated me, because I was popular. But Corazion always said to her to try a friendship with me, and she tried…” Cadance remember the few tries Sunset did when she was filly, trying a postcard saying sorry and be my friend was the cute one. “Then for the first time we became friends and our family became even more happier with the result...However, all that came to an end after that time I found Sunset with a colt... “The power of love.” Princess Celestia told Blueblood who was listening careful about what happened between the two princesses. “Cadence didn’t know what ascendency she had until it was that day she became alicorn. The power she was feeling it was when she could see a couple of ponies, she could sense the future of passion between the two sides and the end of the relationship, how would ends.”
“So what did you saw about that colt Cadence?” Blueblood already knew the answer would be something he doesn’t want to hear.
“Well, the colt’s name was Chocolate Sun, he was a really attractive colt when we were fillies, and Sunset had a huge crush on him.” Cadence said while looking down at she remembered. “When I met with him, I felt something on him, and when I Sunset approached him, it was like I could see the future of their relationship, I never saw it before. But I could see his family was a noble family until something unexpected happened and made all his family poor… However when he was with Sunset I could see his character poorly made, he was using her to get status to his family and betrayed her in many ways, leaving her hurt. I had to do something to stop that.”
“What did you do?” The voice of his brother sounded like he didn’t was enjoying the way Cadence was talking and he feared something she would destroy some hearts.
“I told him to get out of my way and my family and never come back, and I used so many mean words, making him feel scared and never see Sunset again…” Cadence told him the truth, and the consequences of her actions wasn’t a few.
“That day, I never cried so much after making Sunset scream to me, like how much she hate me, and I’m not part of the family because family supposed to be together and that day I destroyed the only thing who made our family whole… Many guards tried to stop her to hurt me, but her bucks and her words hurt more than anything I had to fight in my entire life…”
“It wasn’t your fault.” Princess Celestia tried to hug her niece but the move of her foreleg were pushed from her own niece.
“Wasn’t it? Because I could have used other ways to help both of us.” Cadance said in deny of her own reason. “I could have told you first, asked you to see both of them, explain my magic power, and I could act anonymous and let you take the action. Or I could just ignored for a while and find proofs of his actions before he hurts her.”
Celestia listened her niece in silence, while she wanted to help Cadance, her ideas about what she could do it would make everything in another way and smooth, but she needed to find a way to help her niece, but how without making a lie? Cadance shook her head and looked to her brother:
“Years later of that problem. I discovered my alicornhood but in the worst way I could imagine. A pony who was working at the local marketing was in a discussion with a noble mare at Canterlot, while the discussion was becoming a bit heavy I found out with my power the stallion would become a really great noble stallion and he would have a happy romantic life with that same mare and they would be a great couple who would not be spoiled as the usual noble ponies…” Cadance said looking down at the moment, making Blueblood look confuse to her.
“But that wouldn’t be a good thing to us? Like having a good noble is really difficult to find in these days, and…” Then his eyes became wide open like he understand what happened… “Chocolate Sun was the pony you used your magic to become allicorn right?”
Cadance didn’t answer for a moment, making Prince Blueblood look at Princess Celestia.
She decided to tell the rest of the story.
“Chocolate Sun’s family after some years after the breakdown they opened a market at Canterlot, raising from the ash and becoming more humble, they really became different after some years, and their little son, was working as deliverer. After Cadance discovered who he was, she locked herself at the her room during 1 week.” Princess Celestia decided to approach Cadance again.
“I was so stupid. Yay I became an alicorn but with what cost, I really wanted anypony than Chocolate Sun, I was really happy but after I found out it was him, I became sick and disgusted of myself, I didn't want to talk with anypony.” Cadance said sighing from her same scar she had emotionally.
“So that was the reason you was looked inside of your room?” Blueblood accepted the story in silence and become rational from her feelings, receiving a nod from her, he understood what would be a big problem from her family.
“Aunty tried to cheer me up, and it was really hard, because she was hurt as well, Sunset left Equestria during years, Corazion was the only pony who could help her but he died some months before Sunset leave Equestria. And I became scared of what would happen if I met her again, she could kill me… and she had the right to do that.” Cadance was saying before a hoof pressed with force came from unexpected direction, making a powerful slap from her own Aunty.
“MI AMORE CADENZA.” From a furious Princess of the sun, Princess Celestia was using the Royal Canterlot Voice to make her point made again, making almost part of the castle shake with her anger to her niece. “I KNOW WHAT’S THE FEELING OF MAKING MISTAKES OF OUR OWN FAMILY. TRUST ME, I REALLY DO. BUT EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE TRUTH, YOU WERE STILL A CHILD, EVERYPONY MAKES MISTAKES, EVEN ME, HER AND YOU.”
Her screaming was making both of ponies hold her hooves over their ears but still listening her screaming in rage. After taking the attention of both of her relatives, she calmed down, making both of them listen her more carefully.
“Cadance, I know you may have problems about Sunset, but your cousin Spike went to the other side of the mirror without noticing the effects of the portal, it will be just opened until midnight from today after that it will be more 20 moons until it opens again.” Her speech made both of siblings look at her in fear.
“What? So what should we do? We have to tell him to come back.”
“Sadly he will not listen and he will stay over there, knowing how noble he can be and stubborn while trying to act noble as well.” Princess Celestia giggled thinking on her little boy. “I just hope he would succeed his plans and maybe even with a little of optimist he could bring Sunset again just for me saying I’m sorry.”
“Well, we cannot allow Spike doing that alone, so I offer myself to escort him to Equestria again.” Blueblood as his cousin and with his sense of responsibility with his family, stood up proudly offering himself to bring Spike back with Sunset as well.
“Blueblood, you don’t need to try to show responsibility over this case, if you try to go over the mirror you have a chance you can be stuck on that dimension during 20 moons with them.” Princess Celestia said in concern of her nephew safety while she sounded proud of the actions of the little colt who usually was afraid of adventures.
“I know, but I’m a diplomat so I can stuck everywhere easily and deal with many major problems, you know what happened in Yakstan and I went out of there smoothly like they didn’t know there was a pony over there. And Griphonstone was a place I get trip many times without making a polemic. I can manage to protect Spike aunty. I promise.” Blueblood showed his conviction while he looked at the mirror seeing the necklace over there.
Princess Celestia looking she couldn’t changes his mind, allowed Blueblood to his own mission.
“Prepare the essentials Prince Blueblood, you are on a rescue mission, and don’t come back until you bring Spike and Sunset Shimmer, you have your own time limit to decide when it was time to come back. Take all the bits you find is necessary and bring my children back.” She said like a royal queen giving an official royalty mission to her own nephew.
“Aye my highness.” Blueblood said while galloping away. Leaving Cadance shocked and a very proud princess looking him galloping.
“Why did you do that Aunty, Blueblood will...” Cadance cannot believe what she was seeing and she had many reasons for not allow Blueblood to go to that risky mission but when she tried to argue with her aunt she was interrupted by a stomp at the floor.
“Cadance, after many years, suffering from my own decisions… I discovered the reason I couldn’t go to the other dimension by myself… It was my pride who didn’t make me to go there and apologize to my own daughter. And I’m tired to try to ignore something who hurts me so much after so many years… And I really thought you would be the answer for my problems…” Princess Celestia sighed while looked the mess on the Mi Amore Cadenza was after getting bathed with a cold water bucked. Cadance was shocked but the Celestia continued. “This mission was supposed to be yours after you get married, while I really thought you had confidence in yourself and had the only thing I couldn’t ever thought I didn’t had… Humility to go after her and apologize after everything I did. But looking in this situation now, I discovered we are both cowards to go after her while Spike and Blueblood are not thinking about that at all, they are just thinking in our family. So that’s why I let them to take their own time on that mission, because now I can see Sunset will be happier with her family on her side.”
Cadance couldn’t do anything other than let her own head looking down in shame. Her aunt is right, the only philosophy of their family they had being ignoring during so many years, and now it’s time to makes everything okay.
“Aunt. I want to go to that rescue mission as well.” Cadance cleaned her face and decided to not act as a filly anymore, it’s time to show she is a mare now and a leader of her own nation if is possible, Equestria doesn’t have any royalty coward, just people who cares about their family. “You said this mission is after my marriage, but I want to be part right now.”
Celestia smiled proudly to her own niece, who decided to make a huge step from her fear to a courage to assume her mistakes and affront her cousin again.
“Take your stuffs, you are going to have a long mission.” Princess Celestia said while her niece nodded in agreement of her own choices.
After coming back to her apartment, Sunset decided to take a shower after having many things to think about her day. She had so many plans to take control of the school, the idea of world domination by easily 10 steps, to come back to Equestria and conquer easily… Everything she had planned for years now it’s messed up, by a single fact she didn't think about it.
Now she has a brother to take care of…
Her frustration while she take a shower herself showed how much she was being ignorant thinking about how her mother planning a strategy to foil her plans just to take her arrest to Equestria were now forgotten by the fact Spike said she wants her to visit and there wasn't a catch over it. She knew she could trust on Spike, because while he is smart, he doesn’t looks like he can lie to everyone. He is easy to read through his lies…
So… why is so difficult to accept the offer of coming back? It was because the injustice she suffered from being exiled from Equestria? Or is the fact the only thing she could say to fix it was sorry? She didn’t know, and she knows she isn’t ready to face her mother again.
Meaning… Spike will have to wait a long time before she agrees with him to go back to Equestria, now she has a life to live. She has this humans, technology, while she couldn’t have magic, now she is independent… But… what she is going to do now?
“Oh God, Spike need to have human identity over here, he couldn’t go to school if he doesn’t have documents. I cannot let him alone while those girls go to school.” Sunset knew she now has the responsibility… Not because her mother told her, but that was what Corazion taught her. Family is always family.
After taking a towel, she decided to use her cellphone and try to use her contacts, but a knock from her door caught her attention from her worries, she doesn’t receive visits usually. So she looked who would be on her door, even if she was wearing towels.
After taking a glimpse of whose was on the door, she opened with a from but with a sly grin.
“Hey Flash.” She opened surprising the only boy who has been with her after months of relationship.
“Sunset?” Flash blushed from the way she was wearing her towels, and while he tried to keep his eye contact from the predator who is his girlfriend.
“Don’t worry, I don’t bite...today. Get in” Sunset allowed Flash Sentry inside her apartment.
Flash decided to stay on her couch while she went to wear some clothes in her bedroom. After waiting some minutes Sunset jumped on her couch while she looked Flash nervous.
“So Flash, what’s the reason of appearing at my apartment at this time of the night?” Sunset wasn’t stupid, and she has started to understand how manipulation works at people. So she has a vague answer on her mind for why he is there.
“Well…” Flash was a bit nervous but then he focused on himself to make a deep frown on his face. “I’m here to confront you from your idea to send messages to other people to break their friendships.”
“Wha…” Sunset looked at him in disbelief. “How did you…”
“I check your emails, I found you have 4 different cellphones, and I don’t know who was going to be the target but I want to make an end right now.” Flash wanted to make Sunset doesn’t make a crime who could destroy her life forever, even she doesn’t listen to him everything he tries to say that.
He was being ready for be argument of every week, but this time Sunset while she was angry she raised her finger to say something but nothing came out from her mind, after a minute trying to say something she let out a frustrated sigh.
“That was my plan? Mother dammit, that sounded really stupid and there was nobody who could be fooled by that during much time, it has many loopholes it could be reasoned easily. You know what Flash? You are right, that’s stupid, and now I don’t have time to argue with you or create new plans. I have bigger problems to deal with right now.” Sunset let out her great anger not to Flash, which surprised him, usually everything was his fault, but now she said all the problems of her plans and there was something taking out from her mind bigger than her plans?
“Like what?” Flash Sentry decided to relax a bit, but while he showed concern for those people who could be Sunset’s problem.
“My brother came at the town and he doesn’t have his documents to enlist himself at school.” Sunset grabbed her phone trying to see if she has something she could do to help Spike.
“Wait. Do you have a brother?” Flash was in fact shocked by sudden change of pace of the conversation, from a possible crime to a family matter? Maybe her brother what was suppose to be the only thing to change Sunset for a better girl.
“Yeah, it’s a big surprise for me too, it’s been a long time since I saw my mother, and the little boy came here just to find me and ask me to go home with him.” Sunset sounded like she doesn’t want further questions and Flash knew the code when she wanted to avoid such subjects. He can guess by the tone of her voice.
“Hum… Gotcha, so what’s the plan? Doesn’t your mother have his documents?” It was a reasonable question Flash had in mind, but it seems Sunset was thinking about that as well because she shocked her head while she grabbed her phone to see some information she has.
“Well, he is from a foreigner country, so that means that there will be problems with documents.” Sunset doesn’t mind showing that fact to Flash, because she knew he was too innocent to try some scheme against her, and wasn’t that time to commit a hideous crime...yet.
“Wait, so that means you are a foreigner too?” Flash as the same way asked another obvious question making Sunset roll her eyes while she answers him.
“Yeah genius, I’m from the same country, but now I don’t have time with that.”
“What about you explain this situation to Principal Celestia, from what I heard once, she had some friends who can help to recover documents because she worked at that department once.” Well, thinking about the Principal Celestia, she always helps the kids and teenagers who has been on the streets receive education, so maybe she doesn’t mind to receive Sunset’s brother to her school.
Sunset raised her finger to point out some problems with the idea, but after thinking about it. Sunset went to Canterlot High because of Principal Celestia, and the story of Principal Celestia who worked for the government once, while she doesn’t talk that story often, she talks to people who needed that, and Sunset needed once.
“Oh yeah, the intern incident, thank you Flash, I knew I could count with my brain and your beauty.” She said while taking the glory to herself she kissed his cheek making him goofy.
Sunset Shimmer ignored the moaning boy at her couch and opened the call to her Principal.
“Hello, Principal Celestia? It’s your student Sunset Shimmer, I have a family matter and I need your help.”
After many impacts of the first day at this new dimension, Spike finally went to a place he could be familiar with home.
It wasn’t his home like he lived with Twilight, but the accommodation of being a visit in one house. Rarity’s house, she brought him on her house to pass the night. While it seems it was just a Saturday night.
He was puzzled with the furniture he saw on the room, like a plane object in front of the couch, while it doesn’t have many books behind it. The photos over the walls, showed she doesn’t live alone. It seems her sister Sweet Belle and her parents live with her.
“Are you sure it’s okay for me to stay here tonight?” Spike asked while he knows she is the element of generosity counterpart, it seems she is being forced to do that because of his sister.
“You don’t have to worry too much about that darling. My parents are taking a trip with my little sister and they will just come back after tomorrow.” Rarity reassured Spike she doesn’t mind him staying for a night. “Actually I’m really happy, because I would have been lonely while my little sister would enjoy the hotel trip with our parents. If it wasn’t my project of school I had to finish I would have to go on a trip with them.”
“Hehe, who knows what would happen if you went with them, I would have been lost over here. Thank you for your help Rarity, you don’t know how much you helped me.” Spike said sincerely while he saw the different parts from the house he usually see in Equestria, like the new technology he found at this world. While he was amazed by so many things, Rarity couldn’t help but giggle from his silly reactions.
“I may have an idea about it.” Rarity went inside her room while Spike was looking at the TV which didn’t was turned on yet. “Spike? Do you mind to sleep on the couch during some days, it’s because my dad is always restrict with people who comes here to sleep.”
“I’m okay Rarity.” Spike was still looking at the television which just didn’t mind answering it.
After Rarity appeared dressed with her pajamas she saw Spike still looking at the television, and Spike which was still waiting for something, then a grin appeared on her face while she took the controller over the table and decided to turn on the television.
The light of the tv and the sound and video appearing suddenly made Spike jump from his place in surprise.
“HOLLY CELESTIA MY MOTHER” He jumped from his place and in fear while he saw Rarity laughing in her place, making him pouting to her.
“Oh my gosh, haha… Sorry darling, I couldn’t help, it was so funny watching you so amazed by something which was turn off, so I turned on to make a surprise for you.” Rarity composed herself after laughing a bit more from the quicky surprise of Spike, and while he sighed in exasperation, he smiled to her while she changed the channel to something she knew Spike would enjoy to see.
The channel produced a video of a squad of heroes wearing suits and fighting a maniac villain who has tentacles on her hair. The clash between them made Spike’s eyes sparkle while he watch the video with his jaw slacked.
“THE POWER PONIES? THEY POWER PONIES OVER HERE? WOOOOOW” Spike screamed excitedly, while Rarity couldn’t help but smile.
“Well, it seems you know about them.” Rarity smiled to herself after being right on her choice of channel.
“Well… yeah. Me and my cousin became fans of the franchise while we were walking at the convention of books. My friend Twilight Sparkle bought 50 books while me and Blueblood just take 10 comics about them, it was the start of the franchise. So we couldn’t help but being fans of them.” Spike couldn’t help his excitation, while he saw his favorite hero squad take better actions and looking 10 times better than the comics, he always used his imagination while he was reading it, but now he can clearly see how the moves are happening.
“MANE-IAC IT’S TIME TO END THIS.” Masked Matter-Horn used her power vision blaster while destroying Mane-iac’s robots in one explosive way.
Making Spike look at the show without blinking once.
“Well, I will make a dinner for us, after that you need to take a shower wear your pajamas and go to sleep.” Rarity said while Spike was still hypnotised by the television.
After she took a little picture of him on her cellphone, she giggled, while she seemed a little alone in the morning, it seems the fate had other plans for her, and she is enjoying every second of it.
“Well, who could have guessed? Sunset having a brother and me being her friend from now on? I don’t know how school will reacts from sudden news, but it seems it will be more exciting than before. Who knows? Maybe Spike can convince Sunset to stop bullying us and be a better person? Hmm Nah.” Rarity was thinking about the things of what happened on this day, and while she know Spike can be a good balance for Sunset and maybe be a hero of school, she ignored the idea immediately. “Spike shouldn’t have such weigh in his shoulders now, it’s his first day here, he has his own mission and who am I to change that? But one thing I know, I’m in a better position being Sunset’s friend right now than I was yesterday, so why bother?”
Rarity took the knife and some carrots and while she was cutting them she was thinking.
“Oh my! From smugness, then it became worry, then it became anger, then sadness, then hope, then happiness, and then concern everything in 5 minutes of conversation. Then the final emotion which took Sunset’s face. Relief. “Thank you, thank you, thank you Principal Celestia. I will be sure to give all the information about Spike when he comes at the Canterlot High, thank you for enrolling him over there. Okay, I’m sorry about bothering you in the middle of the night, but I have to say you made me and my brother really happy, again I thank you for your help. Good Night.”
Flash looked at the winning look on Sunset’s face, he saw that expression once, when she took hours to beat an arcade which it was too difficult to handle and she was too stubborn to ask help and after losing much money she had she finally beat the arcade, she didn’t complain about losing her money because she made some students to pay for her lunch. But still on that arcade her winning face indicates all her hard work is paying off.
“So I take now your brother is now in Canterlot High?” Flash deduced while Sunset Shimmer grinned like a wolf who finally ate the prey and was ready to have a nice night of sleep to make another hunt in the next morning.
“Yeah, she told me Spike can attend school until I have his documents registered, and I have at least the end of the year to give her the documents, she gave a temporary registration support for new students which she did to me. So that’s a totally victory for me and Spike.” Sunset smugly said until something weird happened to her face, and then from a second later she sneezed.
“Yeah, maybe next time you should put your clothes on before bath before giving a call to someone.” Flash said after taking a toilet paper and giving a little to sunset clean her nose with it, while he found something new and enjoyable to see, instead to receive a glare, a snarky response, or even an offense. Sunset just grumbled to herself and showed her tongue to him. Making him chuckle.
“Spike must have indeed changed her attitude, and it was just one encounter.” Flash thought about the possibility of how Sunset would change with Spike around… Maybe now he cannot be worried about her bully to everyone and their problematic relationship that much more than before… Maybe. He really hoped so.
What the next morning would bring to him and Sunset, or how much Spike’s appear would change the entire school? Because just him being there, Sunset was keeping herself in check someway and now Flash just imagine how much her brother would change her in the future.

Celestia’s day had been the most chaotic day she ever lived, if wasn’t by the fact Discord was still imprisoned at the stone she would have imagined all the chaos was made by him. But she shook the idea of her mind because now that Twilight and her friends were still with the Elements of Harmony, she can hope all the problems would be resolved by her and her friends.
But still, the chaos was spreed inside of her mind, the first thing she was doing was to take care of the royal nobles and take care of the royal courtroom, later she received a letter about her son saying he traveled to the foreign world because she missed her daughter and it was his mission to bring her back to her. And now her nephew and her niece want to go inside of the mirror and give support to Spike and bring Sunset Shimmer.
Yeah… That would have been a great plot made by Discord, because she was almost losing her mind. But now, she can finally felt something different, the weight on her shoulders about her mistakes, is even lighter because her son didn’t think twice and wants the only thing she forgets about it to show him, happiness to herself and her time with her family.
The sound of the hooves coming across the hall made Princess Celestia’s thoughts been interrupted, until an angry mare cross around the door, and looking totally furious to her.
“Oh Luna, it seems you finally are up.” Celestia's tired voice made Luna still glare at her and didn’t waste time.
“Don’t come at me like that, sister. I something happened, because I heard the rumor about you freaking out in the middle of the court day among our subjects. I went to Spike’s room to ask him what happened, and he wasn’t there… Explain.” Luna always is sharp as knife when it comes in deductions when she is angry or worried. And knowing her, Celestia was too tired to make a long game.
“Alright sister, it seems you don’t understand the full story of this entire day. But… do you remember about my other child? The elder sister of Spike?” Celestia asked while taking a raise on Luna’s eyebrows. It seems something is really bothering Celestia.
“Yes, I do remember you telling me about this Sunset Shimmer.” Luna said while she sounded like a impatient mare waiting for answers.
“Yeah, Spike knowing the mistake I did to her, and how distant I was being from him… made him think about bringing her back.” After Celestia words were said Luna’s eyes went wide open.
“Please, don’t tell me he…”
“Yes, he travelled cross the mirror, and tonight is the last night before 20 moons recovery.”
“CELESTIA, WE MUST BRING HIM NOW.” Luna shouted in Royal Canterlot Voice.
“WE CAN’T.” Celestia shouted back with the same Royal Canterlot Voice. “Spike made a decision and he is too stubborn to come back until he accomplishes his objective, but I will not let him alone on his journey. Blueblood and Cadence said they are going to cross the mirror and support Spike’s mission until they come back safe with my daughter.”
Luna noticed not just Celestia tiredness on her voice, but she saw the black circles in her eyes.
“Celestia you must sleep.” Luna could see Celestia didn’t got out from the room after all the time she received the letter of Spike, she could see Celestia was too stubborn to go to sleep and maybe if she tells her she must go…
“NO, I refuse to sleep until I give both of my relatives instructions in their mission and be sure they cross the mirror safely. I will not sleep until they come here and go safe.” Celestia refused in the second the idea of sleep passed by her ears, she wants to sleep, but she cannot do it because her concerns are too much, she wants to be sure they traveled well and the moment she sees them passing cross the mirror, she finally have a nice night to sleep, not because she wants, but because she needs to relieve her concerns about it.

“My nephew and my niece. Words cannot describe on how proud you two are making me tonight. As princess of Equestria I always incentive to my ponies to help each and other, and live as a great nation and deal with responsibilities. Without you two, the projects we could do this year will be delayed and maybe it will bring many problems in the future.”Celestia enunciated, making both Blueblood and Cadance look at each other, while they are both royalty, they still has their responsibilities over Equestria, but then their aunt Celestia continued. “But as a mother and your aunt, I don’t care about what these ponies will say about you, I want my children back, so I gave you this mission, bring my son and my daughter to me. Make them to send messages to me all the time. I want peace in my soul. So I PRINCESS CELESTIA, GIVE YOU TWO THIS MISSION. PRINCESS MI AMORE CADENZA, PRINCE BLUE RIVER BLOOD. I AS THE PRINCESS OF EQUESTRIA. I BOW TO YOU AND BEG YOU… BRING MY FAMILY BACK.” Celestia shouting could make all the castle hear her plea, and the tears inside of her eyes showed how much determinate she wanted to see her kids again.
Blueblood didn’t answer, he used his magic to see a clock on his pocket… 7 minute for midnight. He nodded to her sister, and they didn’t open their mouths, they just went and hugged the Princess who was bowing to them, and giving a last hug to the Princess of the Night who was still shocked by that scene, she didn’t imagined how much Celestia wanted that. “Ah, what…” Luna was so shocked, they didn’t said a word. And ignored them, it was rude. But then she saw Celestia smiling so much proud.
“That was loud.” Celestia said weakly.
“What was loud?” Luna asked while she didn’t heard anything.
“The look on their faces, it screamed they would cross the entire world to bring them back. I finally can go back sleep Luna. I finally...” Celestia talked so happy and then she just fainted on her place, falling in a deep sleep.
“So that’s why they didn’t talk, their eyes was screaming what we wanted to know. Just you sister, to have such crazy family as us…” Luna used her magic while she brought her sister while she felt difficulty on doing that.”By mother, you are heavy, you must stop eating cake in the bed Celestia, well sister. Good night, and have a nice sleep.”
Luna kissed the forehead of her sister, while she heard happy sounds from her on her slumber.
The portal was much colorful and the force was beyond what they could comprehend, but still, one thing could be known, they will not come back without Spike and Sunset, they don’t care about how painful the process would be.
“Blueblood, are you alright? It’s difficult to focus while on this portal.” Candance was falling while Blueblood was holding her hoof, which suddenly both of them looked like it was glowing.
Surprisingly it wasn’t painful, but it was uncomfortable, and after they embraced themselves. They closed their eyes without knowing the impact was near.
After hugging his sister, Blueblood used his magic to hold everything around them before getting knocked out.

“Blue Blood.” The sound of his sister weakly passing through his ears made his eyes open slowly, at some unfamiliar face to him.
It wasn’t the same equine face he used to see every day on Equestria, but a more shaped form without a nozzle on the face looking at him worried.
“Blue, come on wake up. We gotta go.” After taking a long look at his sister, he noticed her mane was a bit different from the usual, but the colors remained the same, however, her body looked a lot slender than was on Canterlot.
“Cady, is that you?” Blueblood tried to remain awake, however, his body felt weak in comparison to before, it seems the trip was tiring and exhaustive after crossing the portal. He just needs to lay down for a few minutes. “You look so different.”
“Yes it’s me, and Blue, I’m not the only one who is different.” Cadance took a mirror inside her backpack and showed it to her brother. “You are different too.”
Blueblood who was with his eyes closed, opened one of them to see what kind of difference he had from his equine.
And the difference seems to be obvious, his fur didn’t exist, it was a skin with the same coloration of his fur, his mane was different from what was but it looks like the same. He turned around and found he didn’t have a tail anymore.
“Blue, you don’t need to freak out, when we headed over the portal, we already imagined something like that would happen,” Cadance said while Blueblood remained in silence, taking a deep breath, he then nodded on his place, finally recovering from his shock and accepting what happened.
Cadance decided to give the first step while trying to remain in balance, but the first step made a total failure. Making her face planted at the grass...
Blueblood after opening one eye watched all that scene amused, as he remained himself in silence.
“Bluey…I know you are laughing on inside.” Cadance groaned while she was still looking down at the floor.
Her brother grinned and didn’t deny such an accusation. Then he used his own arms to get up himself… And tried to remain in balance… and different from his sister he could maintain stand up.
Cadance couldn’t help but feel jealous watching her brother has a better attempt than her.
“How did you do that?” She looked at him while her body was still on the floor.
Blueblood looked at her sister, as he did the first step slowly and managed to still stand up…
“Oh, sister, sister, sister… My lovely sister..”Blueblood chuckled while he looked proud of himself. “You may have babysitter him, but I was the one who played with him using 2 hooves, to make him not feel uncomfortable since he started to walk by his own foot. I managed to have a few tricks on my sleeve.”
Cadance tried to adjust herself on her place, and once again tried to get up and standstill. And even before losing her balance, Blueblood was quick enough to take her hand and helped her to remain above the floor.
“Now, be careful, tried to maintain the balance. It was more difficult using hooves than using feet as Spike once told me. But with time you can get used to it” Blueblood looked again to his sister while trying to guess what happened. He then turned around and looked something unusual… He found a statue over the garden, and around it, it was a building that looked like a school.
Cadance finally got rid of her dirty over new clothes, looked around her, and she could see 2 important facts while she was near her brother.
“Blue… It’s the middle of the night, and we got nowhere to go…” She talked while she tried to remain in control, but looking at her brother who seemed to keep glancing around she couldn't help but feel relieved in knowing her brother is thinking about something.
“I know, at least we got our stuff, that means we can try to find somewhere to pass the night, maybe some kind of resort, or maybe a little hotel to pass the night.” Blueblood checked his little bag and found what he was looking for, a compass to give the direction. “One thing aunty Luna always taught me is… If you look at the stars and knows the compass you have in your hooves, then you will never be lost.”
Blueblood checked the sky and by surprise, something looked really different. From the frown on his face, Cadance decided to look where he was looking over the sky, and then something surprising appeared on her mind and she couldn’t help but say...
“Wow, there are fewer stars on this place than Equestria…” Cadance could see the new challenge of being aware to her and her brother, and something like this will make sure to make them think about the new possibilities… “Maybe we should pass the night and camp over here.”
Her brother snorted the idea and looked at his sister. “If you think I would dirt these new clothes, which by the way looked fantastic on me and my refined personality, being on camp in an unknown place which we don’t even know the dangers? My dear sister, let me ask you… ARE YOU OUT OF MIND?”
Cadance ignored his outburst and decided to look over his bag trying to find a tent for themselves. While Blueblood decided to localize their positions from the stars, but that challenge seemed to be more difficult than ever…
At the time both of them were trying to think about what to do…
A clearing throat took their attention, making both siblings look from their side, what would be an elder, slily chubby, but with years of experience and wisdom and a good charisma as a great matriarch of the family who was looking at them slightly annoyed.
“May Ah know what the youngsters are doing in the middle of the night in front of the school?” The matriarch asked a rhetorical question while giving time to both siblings trying to figure out who she could be… But her expression softened as defeat and tiredness after letting out a sigh. “Ah have a tiring day working at the cafeteria making the secret apple cider which Ah was sure nobody would be trying to take a look before Monday.”
“Err… Sorry to disturb you ma'am, but I and my brother are lost, it’s the first time we came here to visit our cousin and we don’t know where we are.” Cadance decided to give a sincere answer about their situation. And from the look of their faces, it seems to really make the elder wide eyes open.
“Oh dear, are yah telling me, you were lost after came here, where are your parents?” The elder woman decided to approach both of the siblings, while Blueblood looked deep at her, and put his compass in the pocket he decided to use one of the best skills he learned from his journeys on Equestria…

“Well ma'am, our parents were a long time lost, but our aunts took care of us, both of them treated us well, and we live far, really far from here… It is a really long story, which we could really be glad to talk… But I and my sister are looking for a place to stay… Do you know somewhere which would be good for us to pass the night? The currency wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Ohhh weee. That’s a lot of fancy talking… I maybe couldn’t understand some words little boy, but I know something about getting lost, while you two seemed to be some kind of responsible people, you are still too young to be taking care of yourself.” The older lady decided to go near the boy and with her elderly arms, she took some of his baggage. “You can pass the night on my farm, my family may not be fancy, but we cannot let 2 kids who were lost in the night in front of school be in a search of their cousin without help. You can tell me the story in the way of the farm. Ah can give a ride for both of you.”
Blueblood was surprised by such generosity and help, he couldn’t help to utter just a simple word…
“What?” The confusion on his face made the elder woman giggle while she used her hand to wave them to follow her into a van.
“Let’s go younglings. Let me show yah how cozy the Apple Family is over these surroundings. But first, let me present maself. Name’s Smith, Granny Smith. Everybody calls me that.” The elderly woman took her truck hat with her and used it while she got inside the van.
“Oh, nice to meet you. My name is Mi Amore Cadenza but you can call me Cadance. And this is my brother.” Cadance got inside of the van while she composed herself elegantly while her brother appeared next to her.
“Blue River Blood the 5th. But you can call me Blueblood.” Blueblood said in the same tone and politeness presented himself.
Making the Granny whistle.
“Fancy names would yah, anyway, hope you like dirty and waking early because we are going to take a trip to Sweat Apple Acres which is where my kind lives.” The woman decided to start the van, which made both siblings jump from such a loud explosion from the mechanical vehicle.
“What in Tartarus,” Cadance said aloud, while Blueblood remained in silence but still shocked by the sound.
“What’s the problem, never got inside of a van before?” Granny Smith asked while sounding in disbelief. “Are you so fancy that you never got inside of an old mechanical car before?” Cadance and Blueblood were in a dilemma, they never heard about this technology, but the way they would actually say it would make sure they were ignorant spoiled brats, which is totally opposite.
“Well, ma’am… To tell you the truth, where we lived we actually don’t have these vehicles, we just used simpler ones like boats, trains, and chariots.” Blueblood tried to use his diplomacy to make sure to not make a misunderstanding for the elder ma’am who has been helping them a lot.
“Oh, it’s that so? Wow, never thought there were still places where they live in the ages of knights and stuff. Well, let’s go quickly, the faster we go there, the faster you will meet everyone. So hold yourself, people, because it’s time for me to show the speed devil I am.” Granny Smith, smiled while she pressed the accelerator in such force, which made both siblings gasp in surprise from such speed on the van.
“What we got ourselves into?” Both of them asked themself while they felt the van being in such speed in one direction. Which they couldn’t help but feel pity for themselves.
The elder woman looked at the girl near him and using her neck directed them to follow her. Giving both siblings a sign of hope and a good night of sleep… Thankfully for both, they were right about that.
Over the night around the orchards of Sweet Apple Acres, three siblings were waiting for their grandma to appear before they get a night of sleep and be ready for the usual work at the farm.
A little girl was waiting while she played with her fingers of boredom, while her elder brother was watching her and her big sister who was in silence using her cellphone.
“Ah can’t believe she did that.” The elder girl who was looking sternly over the cellphone said while she couldn’t help but get annoyed by the fact.
The elder brother looked at her which she showed the cellphone to him.
“Sunset Shimmer, she did something to make Rarity and Pinkie Pie be hostages to take care of her brother.” The girl wearing a stetson said while she couldn’t help but think of many reasons on why that must have happened.
The boy near her remained in silence while he raised his eyebrow, making her look at him.
“Ah know that may be a pit paranoic, but Ah told you that Sunset is a viper in a no way to trust her.” The girl said while her big brother ignored her. “But Ah have to go to Rarity’s house tomorrow, ah hope you can take care of the things while Ah will be away okay Mac?”
Looking at her sister, and thinking about how terrible she is when it comes to when she is worried, it would be for the best if she could leave and let them take care of the farm.
“Eeyup.” Big Mac said while his sister hugged him in gratitude, while after a few seconds the sound of the van. “Granny is here.”
The girls got up from their sits and went directly out of the house they were, to greet their grandmother who passed the entire day at School on Saturday.
“Granny.” Both girls greeted her grandmother while the little girl hugged the elder who was leaving the van, while the elder girl suddenly looked at the two who were a bit in awe from how the vehicle moved.
“Er… granny, who are they?” The elder girl asked while both siblings who left the van were examining everything in the van.
“Oh, they? They are funny youngins who happened to be lost in front of the school. They never happened to be in a van before, and they act like too fancy fru fru, but they are good kids.” Granny Smith waved her hand while she giggled from the reaction of the two teenagers who happened to be amazed and didn’t even turn their back. Granny then brought her kin to meet the two teenagers. “Applejack, Applebloom, Big Mac, I want you to meet Cadance and Blueblood.”
As Blueblood managed to tap a few times the metal side of the van as his eyes looked in disbelief. A machine which has almost the same mechanics as the trains but is compact enough to take fewer ponies, it would be an absolute shock discovery, he could imagine many ponies of the high class would demand things like that for personal uses, for crying out loud, he would have at least 10 of this just for him uses with his family. It's was something he needed to remember after he came back from his mission.
But after a hit from an elbow from his sister, Blueblood lost himself at the moment and turn around to see there were a few people looking at him and his sister curiously, he then composed himself and walked towards them and with his sister by his side, he nodded to her as they both said in unison.
"It's nice to meet you all, we appreciate and have gratitude for your hospitality." They both nodded their head in appreciation as they came close to the family of the Apples.
"What educate young fellas." The matriarch smiled as she patted the backs of her own grandchildren.
Applejack looking awe from the view of both siblings, she could see them were from an important city as her aunt Orange or when Rarity showed the gossip magazines where important fancy fellas were always dressed like that. And what actually surprised not just her, but her older brother is the fact the fru fru siblings weren't complaining or even saying a word about the farm, but actually they even thanked the ride and the place to pass the night.
Something like that always gave Applejack points in trust, it's rare to find people actually being thankful, and she could see the clear truth on their words, it seems this both fellas were good ones.
"Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres, the pride of our Apple family, name's Applejack, Ah will show yah the rooms for you all to stay. Our quote is, when an Apple likes yah then the entire family likes yah, isn't that right Big Mac?" Applejack with her stetson in the head she smiled at the siblings, as her elder brother and her younger sister walked beside them.
"Eeyup." Said the teenage boy who seemed the quiet one, smiled at them.
At the sound of their names, Blueblood and Cadance's eyes went wide open, as they looked at each other before composing themselves. It was so quick that the Apple family didn't notice. Thankfully for them, they have something they can do since their foalhood, when they were so young, they have created telepathy by looking.
"BLUEY, THEY ARE SPIKE'S FRIENDS." Cadance eyes looked like they screamed as her own brother rolled his.
"You cannot be sure, sister, new world, new forms, new creatures. This is a total coincidence, but one thing I can now assure is that we are in good claws... if this is what called on this world. But now follow my lead." Blueblood smiled as he walked at the male teenager. "Big Mac? Wow, how tiny a place, my cousin has a friend who just has your name. Do you know a boy named Spike?"
Big Mac looked unsure and after tapped his chin with his finger for a few seconds before he replied.
"Eenope" He shook his head making both Blueblood and Cadance sigh in disappointment.
"That's a pity because he went to visit his town and we are kinda looking for him, but if you know something please let us know okay?" Cadance understood what Blueblood was trying to do, and she decided to play along with the plan that her brother decided to do.
"Oh, so you have a cousin here?" Apple Bloom who was in silence suddenly asked as her eyebrow raised, making both siblings nod to her.
"Yep, he went there to visit his sister, so we came here to find them. Nothing to worry about." Cadance said as Blueblood couldn't help but let out a yawn.
"Well, this could be a good start for a good talk, but you see, I and my sister already have a long day and a long trip. I and my sister would like just to take a long rest after came here." Blueblood knowing where everything would lead, decided to make the best way to conclude the day, by making himself and his sister already go to their restrooms and leave it be.
"Well said Blueblood, AJ, Big Mac, Applebloom, you all will share a room together as they will share a room as well, making you don't do funny business... Tomorrow we will have a long day, and since the siblings were ready to go to sleep, you all could have followed their example since now it passed midnight." Granny Smith as she carried all the heavy bags until the house, already got back and witnessed the siblings wanting to get ready for the next day. As she chuckled from the look of the 3 Apple siblings look at themselves in against after she said they were going to share the same room. "And before yah ask, yes Ah said yah would share a room, and Ah want to be ready now. Tomorrow we will work the preparations before Monday."
As the Apple siblings groaned, Cadance and Blueblood found their interaction amusing. As the sun illuminates a new beginning for not just the equestrians, but all the residents of the city as well. The morning sealed the mission of what would be a journey of 20 moons without rest.
The lady who used her kindness to not just help a friend, but a former antagonist for her, was enjoying peacefully her slumber, as being covered with her blankets like sushi was a perk she loved to do as a child, and as she grew up, her routine of sleeping remained the same.
Although this time, the faint smell over the air floated like a feather and appeared on her face as a gentle but a firm hand who carried her face, the girl was smiling at the marvelous smell which she without intention moved her body at the corner of her bed and proved that the shows on television were wrong about people floating from the power of smell... Gravity you ungrateful bastard.
The girl couldn't do anything more than moan in pain after laying her head on the floor.

Rarity murmured angrily as she walked over the corridor but the smell she was attracted to became stronger by every second, leaving all the bad mood on behind, as she watched what would be a breathtaking breakfast over the table, and the boy who was still preparing something at the oven.
"Oh, Hey Rarity, good morning. If you didn't mind I got awake at the sunrise and I decided to make breakfast." The cheerful boy with green and purple hair said as he smiled at the girl who looked shocked from the amazing breakfast in front of her.
"Spike... did you do all these?" Rarity looked as she still dreaming but started pinching herself to see if she wasn't actually imagining things, the boy in front of her who seemed still normal on the pajamas Rarity borrowed to him, seemed used about making all the table.
"Yeah, I wanted to pay for you to help me through everything, from making me accepted right away... and doing the favor Sunset asked." Spike gratefully said as he brought the last hot pan with scrambled eggs which the smell could make all the girls salivate in pleasure.
Rarity smiled nervously.
"Well she didn't actually ask the favor... but knowing that you wouldn't have a place to stay I without thinking would have offered my place for you to stay until you find somewhere." Rarity said as she gracefully took a bit of the scrambled eggs and the pancakes in front of her. At the moment she said that she felt the flavors she couldn't even imagine a simple breakfast would have. "Spike, this is beyond words, it's what would be a chef's recipe of a Michelin restaurant."
Spike chuckled after hearing it from Rarity.
"Of course you would have offered me, it's not surprising that your counter-part is the symbol of generosity, you are generous Rarity, in a way a few people would understand, and I don't know what Michelin is, but I thank you for your compliment," Spike said after taking a bite over his breakfast and enjoyed eating piece by piece.
Smiling at her new friend, Rarity didn't waste time and started enjoying her own breakfast. The look over the table even looked astonishing, even the jewelry from her family... wait a minute.
Rarity's face goes dark when she looked at 3 of her auntie's earrings craved in diamonds over the table...
"Spike... what is this?" Rarity tried to remain calm and not shriek from a sudden idea about her friend... he couldn't be stealing from her right?
"Oh... well Rarity I have something to tell you... and this will be harsh for you to take it well..." Spike laughed nervously, but after taking a gulp from his breakfast, his eyes looked somber. "Is this jewelry very valuable for you?"
"Rarity dropped her fork, and proceeded to take the jewelry over the table, but at the moment she touched it, she felt her hand was wet and sticky. As her eyes went wide open and then dropped the earings over the table.
"How gross, Spike, please tell me you didn't what I think you did." Rarity was almost shrieking in horror as Spike finally confessed.
"I lament to tell you that these earings are fake." Spike focused on his eating, as Rarity wasn't going to take it kindly.
"Spike you cannot take the jewelry of the people without asking..." At the moment Rarity was going to freak out on Spike, her eyes went wide open and she stopped mid-sentence. "What did you just said?"
"It's cubic zirconium, trust me, I know the flavor." Spike made a swear gesture as he frowned at the little earings as hatred. "Dragons hate this piece of trash more than anything in the entire Equestria. My mother once told me a story about when a dragon diplomat went to the Griffon Kingdom and the griffins wanted to impress the dragons but wanted to be so cheap that they replaced the gems they have with Zircon... trust me, It didn't end pretty."
Rarity could see the cold gleam in the eyes of the boy in front of her. Rarity could see he was telling the truth, but knowing her family tree, she knew the earrings were genuine, but how could a dragon tell her that the earrings which were the gift from her aunt were indeed fake? How is that supposed to happen?
"Okay, I will keep that in mind but please refrain from adding some of our jewelry into your mouth, didn't your mother told you to not take jewelry from the others without asking permission?" Rarity looked at the boy who seemed to blush as he tried to avoid looking at her face.
"I know, but I can't help but taste them even if was for a few seconds before cleaning them up and give you back before you notice..."Spike said looking away. "And my mother always told me to always say when somepony is being tricked by this trash..."
"I know that fake jewelry is terrible as they are cheap, but is that bad when it comes to dragons?"Rarity raised her eyebrow as she looked again at the jewelry, she knew that she would have to explain to their mother that her aunt maybe not being sincere when she gave the earrings to their family, something that she should keep that in mind since her aunt always boasts herself as the richest person of the family.
"Rarity, I would prefer to eat a rotten muffin made by Pinkie Pie with a tired stubborn Applejack." At the moment Spike said a tiny voice could be heard from far, far away...
"...blasphemy..."
"Did you just hear someone screaming Blasphemy?" Spike looked around to see something that caught his atention.
Rarity shook her head. Making Spike shrugged his arms, and finish plate.
"Well, nothing like a great breakfast. Do you mind if I take a bath to clean my scales?" Spike said as he has gotten up, but Rarity started giggling at his question. "What?"
"You don't have scales Spike, you have skin, just like me. And we don't have a bathtub, we use a shower. Be careful to not use a shower too hot, because that would make your skin too sensitive." Rarity waved her hand, as Spike looked at her confused.
"Shower? What kind of way do you clean yourself up?" Spike asked as she just merely giggled again, leaving Spike even more confusing.
"Okay, I will try to explain... Imagine a cloud of rain ready to give you a pressured rain just focused on your skin, you take the soap and start cleaning yourself as the rain constantly cleans you up. You need to just make sure to have the right temperature and you will receive the shower in your face... no... I think a tiny waterfall would be a better explanation..." Rarity who seemed to be sure about the example made Spike's eyes went wide open and look at the bathroom curious. "I think it's for the best you see by yourself, take the clothes and the towel as well."
"Okay." Spike went directly to the room to make himself prepared.
Rarity looked at the table herself, as she sighed dreaming.
"My my, this little dragon indeed is charming, it wasn't a surprise that my counterpart would always keep him around, but that would be too selfish on her part. Oh my, why me the element of generosity has to deal with such greed to keep that treasure boy? What a drama." Rarity couldn't help but lament her values, the boy dragon indeed was something she would have kept to herself if he was 3 or 4 years older, but looking at how the dragon needed someone to love and be loved. Rarity decided to live the generosity that her counterpart didn't have to courage to demonstrate... "Okay, who would be the lucky girl that would have Spike as the prince of their lives?"
Rarity decided to take a notepad and started to see if she could par up the young girls of his age or some girls on her age but wouldn't mind having a boy in their lives... Rarity would've been on the list, but she knew the feelings from her counterpart weren't something that would match the loyalty of the poor dragon...
After a second she thought about her sister, but at the same moment, she risked an x excluding the idea immediately.
"Having a sister as a consolation prize for not be able to conquer the lover of his life? That would be cruel and ridiculous. Denied." Rarity destroyed the paper without thinking twice, as she started to think about the names of her own classmates... But the knock over the door made her shook her head and sigh in displeasure. "Well another time then..."
Rarity decided to go directly as the door was being knocked continuously. At the moment she was behind the door, she already knew who would be outside of her house.
The sound of click was being heard and the door opened revealing the group of girls who seemed confused by the fact Pinkie Pie brought a cake, as they were concern about what happened and Pinkie Pie refused to say...
Noticing the Sunday would be another of those days. Rarity was already wishing to remain sushi on her bed.
As the dark purple over the night was being extinguished from the good colors of the orange over the horizon, a matriarch of a whole farm got up from her lonely bed, as she used both her hands to rub her face, she let a yawn of a typical ritual of the morning.
As she walked over the corridor, she looked at the family photo of her family. The smile of her son and the happy face of her daughter-in-law showed how much they were happy being as a family. Memories that the grandmother Smith couldn't help but relief. After watching both kids looking for their own relatives the night before. Granny Smith thought about having contact with a relative she hated in childhood, a rival but who became a good friend as they were old...
"Ah think Pear would like to hear about this story." The matriarch walked over the stairs but something took her attention, sounds over the kitchen. "It seems Big Mac and Applejack woke up earlier this time, maybe it was because of the order this month? Ah should ask Big Mac if they need help... Morning ki... oh... are you two?"
Granny Smith who was expecting her grandkids to prepare themselves for another day of work, wasn't expecting the two royal siblings sitting beside the table drinking water and eating.
"Oh, good morning Miss Smith." Cadance who was eating a fruit looked surprised at the matriarch as her own brother was eating a muffin over their table. "If you didn't mind we brought our breakfast from home and we took a glass of water from here."
Blueblood who was still munching his breakfast used a napkin to clean himself before talking with the Matriarch who was kind to them.
"Good morning Miss Smith, I hope you have slept well."
Granny Smith was still shocked from noticing the visitors were the first people who got woken up before the sunrise, she was surprised because the kids on these days always enjoyed waking up late on the weekends.
"Ah slept well, thank you for asking kids. Ah don't mind for the water, but ah was going to make the breakfast for all of the kids before they start work today." Granny Smith decided to get beside the oven and looked at the kids beside her. "Ah will prepare something for you both to eat as well."
Both Cadance and Blueblood who were eating their breakfast looked at each other and noticing they had already eaten a bit, shrugged before nodding happily from her offering.
"Usually Ah was expecting you both to wake up in more than 5 hours since the kids on these days love to wake up at 10 a.m." Granny Smith took a plate of Apples and decided to make good fritters with it for their enjoyment, but the comment from Granny Smith made both of them raise their own eyebrows.
"Really?" Both asked surprised, as they indeed cannot understand the customs and the rules of the humans.
"Yep, but my ma always thought me that the early bird always takes the worm, and ah taught my son that way and my grandkids. Can ah ask if you both slept well last night?" The elder of the family asked but looking at the faces of both siblings they seemed perfectly fine from their looks, it seems they weren't tired as many kids who would be at the same hour.
Both siblings nodded their heads.
"We slept well. Sorry to surprise you but our aunty always makes us wake up before the sunrise and that makes this a custom for us. We kinda know when it was time to wake up every day without needing a wake-up call." Blueblood said as his sister smiled nodding her head, making Granny Smith pleased of knowing about it.
"Oh, it seems your aunt knows the importance of waking up early." She couldn't deny that there was someone willing to wake up early to start their activities, which would add more points for her visitors. "So can you tell me what you kids plan to do today?"
Both siblings remained quiet thinking about the problem.
"You see Miss Smith..." Blueblood was trying to be the most respectful as the matriarch but she raised her hand and interrupted him.
"Please, stop calling me this fru fru stuff, you can call me Granny." Granny Smith smiled as she rolled her eyes thinking about she liked the kids being educated but this was almost getting annoying to her.
"Well Granny Smith, like we said yesterday, our cousin is lurking around this city trying to find his sister... a cousin we didn't visit for a long time," Cadance said as she looked at the matriarch cooking something smelling delicious.
"So how do you plan into finding him?" Granny Smith said as she finally finished making the breakfast and organized the table. She then looked above her and before even Blueblood and Cadance open their mouths Granny Smith shouted out. "APPLEJACK, BIG MACINTOSH, APPLEBLOOM, WAKE UP YOUR SLACKERS, THE SUN IS ALREADY UP."
Both Cadance and Blueblood winced from her shout but couldn't help but admire the simplicity and humble feast of the breakfast. The smile of the granny as she sits beside them and started to eat made both of them comfortable to start to eat the apple fritters.
It didn't take long until Applejack ran downstairs.
"Granny Smith, be careful to not scream, the visitors may not want to wake up... oh... you two were already awake?" The surprise in her tone indicated that she never imagined that she could see both siblings actually eating their breakfast or even managed to wake up before her and Big Mac.
Granny Smith giggled from the reaction of her grandaughter as both Blueblood after eating an apple fritter used a napkin to clean his mouth.
"As I informed miss... I mean... Granny Smith, we both actually were used to waking up early than the sun rising to start our activities over the day, and by the way granny, by aunty these fritters were amazing, never had it something so tasteful on..." Blueblood was almost saying something he shouldn't until he received a kick on his foot. Which made him glance at his sister who smiled forced at him and made him understand the message before talking. "Where we live."
It happened so quickly that it seems nobody saw the sudden exchange of glances... Except for Applejack who watched his quick flinch from the kick.
"Something happened Blueblood?"Applejack raised her eyebrow making both Cadance and Blueblood look at her surprised. Glancing at the farm girl who seemed to have a very special way to read people, Blueblood decided to wave her concerns away.
"Ah nothing much, It's just something must have pinched my foreleg on this chair," Blueblood said as he looked at the chair which seemed a good oak chair that decorates all over the kitchen. "I must say, it's really rustic and natural furniture you have. It must have been really expensive to make all the furniture."
Like a sudden exchange of flow of the conversation, Applejack felt sidetracked as Granny Smith chuckled at his question.
"Actually I made them by myself," Granny said proudly as Blueblood raised his eyes and looked at her in disbelief.
"Noooo, seriously?" Blueblood sounded deep in disbelief, as he looked at the proud woman who seemed to experience working all by herself.
"Eeyup." Granny smiled at the fancy boy who seemed too curious, as the sister looked around and finish her plates. "I worked with wood when I was a teenager, my ma and pa taught me how to work with wood, as the same way I taught my own boy Bright Mac how to be a lumberjack as well and how to take care of all our trees and wood."
"Fascinating," Blueblood said as Cadance managed to move away from her sit to let the little girl sit and enjoy her breakfast.
"There you go, dear." Cadance smiled at the red-haired girl who seemed with her hair a lot messed and needed despairingly a shower to fix it. "Granny do you want some help with the dishes?"
As the pink teenager sounded so polite and sincere, Applejack looked at her own brother who seemed in silence with his eyebrows raised.
"Oh Cadance, yah don't have to. I actually can take care of myself. Why not you and your brother after the breakfast go around this place and meet our farm?" The smiling matriarch was indeed liking to know both siblings, but from the way they looked at her, it seems that it wasn't actually what she will receive on the day.
"Well. We would love to, but I think it's for the best if I and Bluey go around and try to find our cousins, we have to pass the time of the morning looking around the city. Especially with the ones who can actually have a way to find him." Cadance placed her hand over the smiling old lady who seemed to understand what she was saying.
"Ah, so the youngling it's actually somewhere over the city? Well, if he is in the city, we can start looking around by the school which seemed to be the place I found you. If I talk with the Principal, she may know someone who can find the boy you are looking for." The smiling lady said making both Cadance's eyes sparkle with hope, but Blueblood smiled as he drank a good apple juice in his hands.
"That would be pleasant Granny, sorry for bothering you this morning." As another polite gratitude, Blueblood kept in mind that the family was indeed a good treasure on their hooves, somepony who actually trusted them so sincerely means a good value to them. He promised himself that he would compensate them for their help when they needed it.
"Yah don't have it. Feela, it's just the right thing to do. And knowing the character of yah two, ah know that the boy is in good hands, and yah will find him in no time." Granny Smith smiled as she placed another plate of food, for the apple siblings who seemed eager to eat their breakfast and have a good time. Leaving another plate, one especially for her. Which made Cadance smile happily as she saw the family in unison, and someday she wished to be part of something like that with her family. "Now Applejack you and Big Mac need any help with the order of the month?"
Applejack who seemed eating her breakfast in silence suddenly looked at her granny who seemed interested to know but looking at her brother. Big Mac shook his head.
"Yah doesn't have to worry about it Granny, Mac, and Ah just finished most of the order yesterday, tomorrow we can finish it in a breeze. Ah took most part of the apples because one friend of mine passed a trouble yesterday and Ah wants to ask what happened." Applejack after seeing the messages from her friends and a photograph of Sunset Shimmer and a boy with green color staring at each other. She knew something was off, and she wants to help Rarity and Pinkie Pie be out of the problem, even if she had to fight to make sure they are okay.
"Oh, dear. Well, if ya need anything. Then you can go back here as a backup. Ah, and your brother can solve most of the problems." Granny giving a knowing glance, gave the advice, and Applejack finally ate her breakfast and took her Stetson ready for the day.
"Will do Granny. Smell yah later folks." The silence reign in the kitchen as the white-skinned girl who didn't even have time to fix her hair as she was wearing pajamas glared at her friends who seemed to feel quite sheepish. The girl was eating her scrambled eggs and drinking what would be a natural orange juice which she didn't remember when she bought it from the supermarket.
As the divine smile could make the sound of some stomaches groan from hungry, the girl ignored it as she savored the smell and the taste of such an amazing dish.
"You know I hate when you just come to my house while I'm eating my breakfast." Rarity remained polite but showed coldness in her tone since she hated to be seen by her friends without preparing herself to look beautiful as she makes effort every day.
"I'm sorry Rarity, but from all the photos we received yesterday, we wanted to make sure that you are safe from the claws of such a vile girl as Sunset Shimmer." Rainbow Dash, moved her fingers like it was the claws of a harpy, but that made Rarity roll her eyes further.
"Yeah, I can imagine how awful would be to actually be a babysitter to a boy who just got on a trip from his own home to find his lost sister after many years without seeing each other." Rarity wasn't in the mood for drama, but she decided to launch a quick guilt trip as the girls' eyes went wide open in surprise. "Oh, poor boy, traveling far away from home, in a personal mission to ask his own sister to come back and talk to their own mother."
"Is that true?" Fluttershy was a bit in concern for her friends as she looked at how sadly the purple-haired friend was eating her breakfast, even if the smell of the eggs was still attracting many of her friends around.
"Well, I'm not in place to judge how awful Sunset Shimmer was, but after meeting her cute little brother, I have to confess that I never imagined the quoted water and wine so spot-on in my life. The little boy was exactly the opposite of his sister, and yet it seems that he makes her a little less awful." Rarity used her napkin to clean her face as she could see the constricted face of her friends around her. "I know that it may sound crazy, but having seen their interaction yesterday. I'm just glad that she didn't actually go crazy on Spike, even being awful it seems that she still cares for him."
"That's what I said to them." Pinkie Pie smiled as she placed a huge cake over the table, it looked like a clear yellow frosting around, it was 2 layer cake, and it looked appetizing. "But I think it was the best you explain to us how was your night with him."
"Well, to say that he is polite and kind is too obvious, I never thought that he would actually pay his kindness and actually prepare the breakfast for me." Rarity tapped the fork on the plate, as the group looked at her in disbelief.
"Wait, hold on. Are you telling me that Sunset's brother made breakfast for you?" Rainbow Dash looked at her, as she sniffed the plate which made her eyes wide open and salivates a little. "Isn't that dangerous, knowing who is he?"
"Oh Rainbow, firstly, clean your mouth, you are drooling. And second, Spike is a gentledr... I mean, a gentleman, he wanted to pay his kindness after his sister actually and I quote "forced" me to shelter him until the second time. And have to say, being around without Sweetie Belle and mom and dad was actually lonesome. But I'm glad that he was actually a good company." Rarity explained as she took her plate and went at the dishes and started to clean up. And later brother bunch of plates around with her and a knife to eat the cake.
"Well, you got a point sugarcube, but ah still don't trust someone from that family." Apple Jack said as she helped Rarity to make the table and make some slices of cake for everyone to enjoy.
The group decided it was a good time to sit and taste the cake as they wait for the new boy to come out of the bathroom.
And the yellow frosty around the cake as the inside there was a great color of red, which made the girls intrigued, but still having a desire to taste another of the great cakes that Pinkie Pie brought from Sugar Cube Corner.
And at the time that each of them took a bit, their eyes went wide open as their mouth started to burn.
Rainbow Dash spat out immediately as she tried clean her tongue. Applejack did her best to control her pain as she swallowed with all her might, it was too spice for her. Rarity went quickly to the refrigerator and took a gallon of milk and placed it in 2 glasses, as Fluttershy drank as she ate calmy the cake.
Pinkie Pie smiled at the hot flavor on her mouth.
"Hmmm, tasty." Pinkie Pie said, as her friends looked at her in disbelief.
"Pinkie Pie what the heck is on this cake?" Rainbow Dash said after drinking a glass of water, as the others looked at her exasperated.
"Well, it has pepper sauce, peppermint candy, cinnamon, and habanero spice. With frost of lemon and mint, it's called..." Pinkie Pie touched each of her fingers as she described the ingredients, as suddenly a boyish voice came from the corridor.
"Oh boy, it's the Sunrise Lemon explosion cake?" Spike said as he quickly went over to the table and grabbed a plate and already started to eat the slice. After feeling the burn from inside of his throat, Spike smiled as he felt such warm inside of himself. "Wow, it tasted as good as I remember."
The sudden boy eating the impossible cake made the group around him has their look in disbelief. As Spike smiled with his eyes closed and quickly finished his slice.
"Man, Pinkie you surpassed yourself, it's difficult to make it a good cake like this." Spike opened his eyes as he suddenly realized that he was surrounded by a bunch of girls, who looked exactly like his friends from Equestria... Feeling the nervous sweat passing on his forehead, he couldn't help but smile sheepishly. "Heheheh... good morning girls... my name is Spike. Nice to meet you."
"How is it possible for you to eat this kind of cake?" Rainbow Dash forgot that she was talking about who the brother was, but at the boy who actually can eat a cake with pepper sauce on it?
"Well... it's my mother's favorite... Once per year, she asks the chefs to make this cake for her." Spike asked surprised, as he could see the twitching eyes of the blue girl. "Anyway Pinkie, how did you manage to find this recipe?"
"Well, I tried to go crazy when I thought about dragons, so the first thing I thought was... How hot could I make the cake? Then I thought well it is going to make it hurt, it must be tasty. So I add more ingredients. And I was going to name it, the surprising volcano... but Sunrise Lemon explosion cake sounded pretty neat as well." Pinkie shrugged her arms, as she thought about the names, but having a powerful princess who can control the sun named her cake before her, who is she to be different?
The eyes twitching from the group was the signal of what would be the craziest Sunday before going back to school.
The group remained quiet as Rarity was finishing her own breakfast, and Spike was enjoying another slice of the sweet and hot sauced cake that most of the other girls, less Pinkie Pie, were afraid to have a slice of the cake she brought.
"So you are Sunset Shimmer's brother?" Rainbow Dash said as she looked at the boy suspiciously, but the boy was still eating the cake with a good smile on his face.
"Oh nice, there are pieces of ginger inside of the cake." Spike ignored Rainbow Dash, who despised being ignored until Spike noticed the blue girl was ready to jump on him. Sighing Spike decided to nod his head towards her. "Yes Rainbow Dash, I'm her brother."
"But did you really go far from home to just come here to meet her?" Fluttershy asked softly, that she knew how difficult would be to see someone so young to travel towards the city looking for someone. "You went here alone? Aren't your mother worried about finding out?"
"Yeah, probably yesterday threw a terrible tantrum, which I'm glad to not have been there when the letter got on there." Spike had to confess that seeing his mom in the royal chambers using her own fury of one thousand suns to kill whoever stupid pony dared to say something wrong after his disappearing? He feared for the safety of the royal guards at the time.
"Letter?' Don't you have a cellphone or telephone to call her?" Rainbow Dash narrowed his eyes, and at the time Spike was about to ask which was that, something struck his throat, making him choke himself, scaring the whole group of girls.
"SPIKE." Rarity and Pinkie Pie went to his back and tried to help the poor boy to unchoke, but even doing heimlich move, nothing worked.
"Letter... coming through ... Burp...Need to burp." Spike was tearing up as he was desperately trying to let something out, and Rarity noticed what was the meaning of that. Pinkie Pie nodded while she took from her hair a bottle of soda which she shook with all the force she could, and opened inside of the boy, making the whole group of girls terrified of why the pink girl did that.
"Oh no, not inside of my house." Rarity opened the doors of her own house, and she noticed that the boy was drinking like his life was desperately needing that. "PINKIE."
"I've always wanted to do that." Pinkie Pie smiled as she held strongly the clothing of the royal boy and carried him like a minigun, she smiled, when the boy was trembling in her hand. " I LIVE, I DIE, AND I LIVE AGAIN."
Pinkie Pie raised Spike at the next moment, the entire body of the boy let out a huge roar of burping that created a huge green flamethrower towards the air, which made the remaining girls stare horrified, confused, and weird at seeing a boy burping flames, and Pinkie Pie smiling crazily.
As the 20-second flames spread out from outside of the door, Rarity sighed in relief at the huge problem she would have to explain to her parents in case it happened inside their house. Rarity glanced at the little scroll that came down on the floor after the huge flame burst managed to quiet down.
Rarity decided to take a look at the scroll while Spike was deep breathing like he had to put a huge smile on his face. While the other girls, every single one of them had a different reaction to what was happening at the moment. Rainbow Dash had her eyes and mouth frozen into an iconic face which would be hilarious if someone pictured her face like that.
Applejack also had no idea what was on her mind, but she was shaking her head, as she was accepting the craziness from Pinkie Pie.
Fluttershy had her hands on her mouth as she was concerned about what happened at that moment, and Pinkie Pie was smiling widely into doing a scene from a movie that she was a crazy fan of years ago.
"THAT WAS AWESOME SPIKE. YOU WERE LIKE BLUARGGGG. And the fire went for 20 seconds, you are like a walking flamethrower." Pinkie Pie hugged him which made the little dragon smile sheepishly and tired from such an outburst.
"It was nice Pinkie, but I almost got choked by it... I think in the future I need to have some emergency contingencies in case like this happens." Spike cleaned up the remainder of the soda over his mouth, as he walked towards Rarity who seemed to be surprised to see the letter with nothing else than the royal stamp of the family. "Oh, it seems mom took my letter."
Spike walked towards the table and was ready to read the letter made by his own mother, but suddenly a horn could be heard from outside.
The girls didn't even have time to register what happened when the horn was loud enough to take their attention.
"I can't believe you." Then an annoyingly familiar voice could be heard as most of the eyes of the duo of Applejack and Rainbow Dash narrowed their eyes as their old nemesis just walked through the open door. "Spike, I know that it's your second day here, but you need to stop breathing fire, this will start to create a lot of suspicion... What the hell are you all doing here?"
Sunset wanted to give a heads-up about how humans don't take different people, but when she found that the house was filled with a group of girls that she wasn't in the mood to torment yet, she now felt that there was a headache coming.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack gritted their teeth, Fluttershy whimpered in fear and gave space, Pinkie Pie smiled sheepishly, and Rarity forced a bit of her smile, but decided to be courteous.
"Good morning Sunset, sorry about the girls, but they suddenly got inside my own home and decided to question the intentions of Spike here." Rarity decided to sit, knowing that the day was going to be even crazier.
"What?" Spike asked surprised, as he looked at the whole group like he couldn't believe it. "Wait... ohh, yeah, well I'm the new guy, okay I think I can see the intention of their worries."
"Well, people should have at least some courtesy." Sunset scoffed as she herself was an intrusion of the house, and Rarity decided to let that slide since all her friends did the same thing in the morning.
"Also, Pinkie Pie made a cake," Spike said Rainbow Dash then got a devious idea and took a slice over the plate.
"Oh yeah, Spike seemed to love it, why don't you have a taste?" Rainbow Dash smiled evilly while Sunset didn't see her, while deep inside Sunset Shimmer was suspicious.
"Hmm, well I usually would have refused anything from someone. But after yesterday's doughnuts, I think it wouldn't be bad to give it a try." Sunset decided to give a bit on the cake, which Rainbow Dash snickered... "Holy damn...it's the Sunrise Lemon explosion cake"
Rainbow Dash's mouth dropped, and Pinkie Pie smiled widely as she knew how the bacon-haired girl seemed to take bite after bite quickly and let out a well-satisfied sigh.
"Goodness, I't been years since I didn't have anything like this. Did you tell her the recipe?" Sunset cleaned her mouth as she looked curious about her young sibling who actually shook his head.
"Actually no, Pinkie Pie did that by herself, she just guessed I liked this stuff, and she replicated everything perfectly," Spike said, as Pinkie Pie was shaking happily.
"Well, I never thought I would say this, but way to go girl, you have talent." Sunset actually smiled? This made the whole group stare at her in shock, and notice that she even complimenting someone like Pinkie Pie. She must indeed have enjoyed the cake.
As both Sunset and Spike were enjoying a good slice of cake, suddenly Sunset Shimmer's eyes widened open when she realized on thing.
"Ohhh, I know what you are doing." Sunset narrowed her eyes as she said slowly towards the little prince who seemed to be just enjoying his slice of cake.
"Uhu, what am I doing?" Spike asked as he was still enjoying the taste, as Sunset finished her own plate and placed it on the table.
"You are trying to make me miss home by giving me the food I loved to eat there," Sunset said as she already would give points to the little boy as a good way to bribe her. "Nice try."
"Oh come on Sunset, it's not like I made Pinkie Pie purposely into doing that... also, is it working?" Spike smiled sheepishly while Sunset facepalmed.
"Alright, lesson 1 Spike, when you try to influence or manipulate someone, you don't ask if is it working, because that takes the charm of it," Sunset replied as she was going to teach her little brother a lot of lessons about how to make him deal with the real world. "And no... it wasn't."
"Come on Sunset, maybe a Hayburger would make you change your mind?" Spike as he said one iconic burger from Equestria, actually managed to hear a loud growl which made him grin. "With crispy hayfries."
Sunset could felt the drool over her mouth, since it had been years since she had one hayburger, and the usual hay from the human world, wasn't what she expected.
"You little rascal, I can give you points for that, but you never had a hamburger and the moment you taste meat, you will never want to take anything else ever again." Sunset decided to make sure to bury the desire on her stomach, because she will not be convinced like that.
"What about a daisy sandwich with a poached egg on the top?" Spike tried once again to offer one iconic dish from Equestria, which made Sunset salivate even further. While the other girls keep staring at each other trying to understand who in their sane mind would eat a sandwich made of daisies... Fluttershy finds it curious to know if they are tasty. "Come on Sunset, let's go home. After talking to Mom we can have an awesome lunch near the good garden fields. Let's go."
Rainbow Dash and Applejack were actually praying that little boy convinced the b word Sunset Shimmer to return to whatever place she came from, and they would be free from whatever problems she was causing towards their lives and school, but they knew it would be too much to ask.
"If you think you can make me to go back home just like that. Then Spike my little brother, prepare your stuff, because you are going to be here for a looooooong time." Sunset Shimmer rolled her eyes and scoffed, but then she smiled evily with one idea in mind. Anyway, Spike, I'm here to pick you up."
Sunset decided to go directly into business which made Rarity and Pinkie Pie suddenly look in concern.
"Really, where are we going?" Spike asked curious, since it was officially the second day he was in the human world, and he couldn't help but look at the delinquent girl who suddenly smiled evilly.
"To buy your school supplies, you are going to attend Canterlot High with me starting Monday." As a bomb dropped towards someone, the girls actually looked surprised by such a statement, while Spike looked weirdly at his pony sister until he let out a loud laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA, that's a good one." Spike was laughing so hard that even a tear appeared in his eyes. "Nice one Sunset. Never thought you had this awesome sense of humor."
"Thank you." Sunset accepted all compliments whenever she could, but then she still smiled sweetly at him. "But it's true what I'm telling."
Spike then froze, and then he just looked weirdly towards his sister. And the way she smiled at him was like Twilight when she wanted to do the spring cleaning towards the library... His true reaction.
"No thanks." Spike decided to ignore, even the dumbfounded look from his sister, which he simply didn't want to accept.
"I think I didn't hear right, what did you just say?" Sunset never had someone to say no to her for a long time, and she didn't like that feeling. But her brother didn't have any of that.
"Quoting one of my best friends, Eeeenope." Spike imitated a familiar farm boy, which made Applejack open her eyes in surprise when she was about to intervene. Spike decided to take the scroll and wanted to open it to read the content. "Since the rules of the Canterlot Royal Court made me have private tutors to deal the social studies, as also helping one of the craziest students of mom for years... Nope, not a chance, if I'm going to be here to try to convince you to come back home, at least I should be here and treat here as a vacation, because I don't want to go back to study."
Sunset narrowed her eyes, for many reasons. One of them by being denied of her own brother, other was also the fact that nobody responsible is going to allow the youngest sibling to stay alone while everyone has something to do in their lives.
"Oh really?" Sunset smiled evilly, as she decided to use one of the privileges of being an elder sister... "So let me tell you a few things... this city has rules about minors, and since you are without someone responsible, it means that you are now my responsibility, and since I have to suffer in the school, just like all the girls over here, then my little brother, you have to suffer with me."
Spike remained stoic, as he started to process the new information and then looked at Rarity.
"Do you girls go to school? I thought..." Spike was about to tell about their counterparts but Rarity interrupted.
"Oh yeah, sorry to tell you that. But me and the girls had also to go to school from Monday to Friday..." Rarity decided to tell that which made Spike's eyes go wide open. And then glanced coldly at his own sister who had the winning face.
"You won this round Sunset, but hear me out, my vengeance will be cruel and merciless." Spike politely left the scroll over the table, as he couldn't help but sigh not without giving a final warning.
Sunset scoffed over his bluff, as she was ready to take her own brother, when someone just came through the door.
"Excuse me, sorry to bother entering." A male voice came while the other girls looked surprised to see nobody else than Flash Sentry, one of the most popular boys from Canterlot High appear in the house. "I'm wondering why Sunset is taking so long."
The girls looked surprised to see that the boyfriend of Sunset Shimmer isn't looking like afraid after such a terrible fight they usually had the week before.
"Oh, it's just my brother discovered he is going to be at school, and he doesn't want it," Sunset said, while Spike rolled his eyes and found that there was another person he was going to meet at that moment.
"Well usually when kids start school, that tends to happen to them, my cousins never liked school, maybe it's some age thing? Oh cool, cake." Flash Sentry shrugged as he may think that it was a normal thing to happen until he found a yellow frosting cake that probably had been eaten a lot. "I'm going to take a bite."
"Sure, suit yourself." Sunset and Spike didn't seem bothered, while Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy seemed on the verge of panic.
"Wait, you don't nee..." Rainbow Dash tried but it was too late since Flash Sentry just gave a first bite, which made his face get red and sweating. And for a few seconds coughing and breathing his chest, not before giving a satisfied sigh when he just gulped the bite.
"Maaaaan, this is spicy, never thought they would make a buffalo wing cake, not bad thought. But a little refreshing aftertaste." Flash gave a quick review, while he was surprised to see a cake like that, leaving most of the girls dumbfounded. "Hey, I'm Flash by the way."
The friendly nature of the teenager was still a mystery why he was able to have a relationship with the bully of the school Sunset, but seeing Spike offering his hand as a handshake, they could see that it must be a part of the nature of good boys stays nearby of bully girls.
"Spike, Sunset's brother... you have my condolences." Spike decided to joke which made Sunset outraged.
"HEY." She shouted as both the boys chuckled, and it seemed to create a great impression at the same moment.
"That's fine, I don't know why, but I think I'm a masochist," Flash commented which made Sunset Shimmer pout for the first time, making the whole group of girls stare at the interaction with their mouths drop, while they no idea what to say. "Anyway, what is that clothing."
"Hu?" Spike looked at his own clothing, which Sunset Shimmer also understood another thing they must do.
"Oh yeah, you forgot to bring clothing from home. We also should be doing clothing shop." Sunset nonchalantly commented that she should make that another point in the future. "So school material and clothing. Alright, let's go, Spike. Later I will leave you here, now let's go."
"Alright, alright." Spike raised both his hands in surrender, as he left the scroll undeaded on the table. And gave a happy smile around. "Thank you for the hospitality Rarity, I hope you can accept it after I come back."
Rarity was still a bit weird from seeing Sunset not acting like her usual self, but seeing Spike thanking her and hoping to be there again, she couldn't help but smile.
"Your welcome Spike, it was a lovely experience to see you here. I would be glad to see you later." And with that Spike was happy when he left the door with the older boy, leaving Sunset and the group of girls. "Do you need my contact for when you bring him here?"
Sunset was about to say that she already had Rarity's number, but that would actually put her into giving one of her secret weapons as a way to bring blackmail, so she didn't want to make it obvious, so the only thing she did, was shrug while nodding her head.
"Sure." Sunset acted as if she didn't care, but Rarity smiled at her, and giving the paper number of her cellphone, she couldn't help but smile. "Alright, see you later friends. Also thanks again Pinkie, that cake was dying for, I didn't have something like that for years. It really made me homesick, so don't abuse it."
Pinkie Pie was still getting used to seeing someone friendly and yet dangerously wanting to beat her at the same time, but she couldn't help but smile at the compliment.
"Yoooooooou got it." Pinkie Pie with her cheerful nature said while Sunset rolled her eyes, and left the house, while the other group of girls was still confused in trying to understand what the hell just happened at that moment. At the moments later they could see Spike getting inside of a car with Flash Sentry being the driver, while Sunset gave a grin before getting inside.
"Okay, now I want to know, what the heck just happened on here." Rainbow Dash's eyes twitched for a few seconds not before turning her head towards Rarity who seemed to just go back to her seat, and decide to have a nice cup of coffee.
"Well it's a long story, but I'm glad to see Sunset seemed to be in good humor today." Rarity shrugged as she saw the usual sibling banter that she had with her own sister sometimes, it was kinda funny to see another person doing that. As she was drinking her cup, with her eyeglance she found a scroll semi-opened. "Oh dear, it seems Spike didn't read the letter his mom gave to him."
"Where the heck did that letter come from? He just burped a flamethrower and then he brought this piece of paper, what is it?" Rainbow Dash decided to take a look, and Rarity took it from her hands.
"Rainbow, don't you know that is rude to read correspondence of the others? And reading this without him nearby was something that I didn't expect from you." Rarity narrowed her eyes.
"Well would you blame me?" Rainbow Dash asked, which made the group raise their eyes towards her. "Come on, this day has been really crazy, we saw a boy spitfire, and then we saw both weird siblings eat this insufferable cake, which they said their mom loved, what kinda of mom would eat a spice cake like that?"
"A princess of the sun. DURRRRRRR." Pinkie Pie answered as she showed her tongue to Rainbow Dash, she liked spiced food, and while made Rainbow Dash tried to process the answer, Pinkie approached Rarity. "Quick reads, do you think his mom is worried because of the letter he sent to her? What is her reply?"
"Pinkie, you know that reading such a letter would be a terrible way to break o... HEY." Rarity was trying to avoid it, but then she saw the pink girl take the scroll from her hands, making her outraged.
"Well, I'm Pinkie Pie, so I'm excused." Pinkie smiled as she knew she would be forgiven because she knew that the pony version of herself would also be curious about that, and started to process reading it. Before coughing. "Dear Spike, words cannot express how I'm feeling into waking up this morning while yesterday I caused a total uproar of your disappearing. I had to make sure to reschedule the royal court... At the moment you get home, you and Sunset will be so grounded that I'm sure that you will never leave my sigh until I give you permission... Wow, she looked angry."
The entire group looked at each other, while Rarity bit her inner lips, knowing that Spike may be in trouble but then Pinkie Pie continued.
"I never want to shout at you so much, as the same way I couldn't be prouder of you. I know that your mission will be harsh, because knowing my daughter, she would refuse every single opportunity. But I must warn you, Spike, this mission is risky because tonight at midnight, at the moment you don't pass the portal at this night, it means that you will be locked into the world that you and Sunset Shimmer are in for 20 moons." Pinkie Pie described what would be a condition and mission that the poor little boy seemed to be counting on the moment, and when Pinkie Pie told the idea that he would be stuck with them for 20 moons, it sounded like a very risky mission.
"Oh dear," Fluttershy commented as she could see how difficult it may be.
"Really? 20 moons? What kind of way to describe the day, so anyone knows how long would be?" Rainbow Dash asked, while she may be weirded out of the idea, still she was more confused about how serious the situation may be.
Rarity shook her head, the same way Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack did.
"I think only Spike and possibly Sunset Shimmer knows how long it can be." Rarity finished her cup of coffee as she already knew a good part of the content, and she described the idea of the sweet boy being stuck in their world for so long just because his sister refused to go with him. It was a bit of terrible news.
"Maybe we can force her to the portal, and shove her directly to it." Applejack gave the idea, but the look from Rarity and Pinkie Pie disapproving of her was enough to make her frustrated. "What?"
"Would you like to be forced to talk with your family if you had a bad discussion with them?" Rarity asked which made Applejack shut her mouth. Because she loves her family, and when the fights they had with them got serious, she would like to ask forgiveness on her own time, and not to be forced.
"Okay, Ah see your point." Applejack decided to let out the issue, while Pinkie Pie continued reading.
"So please Spike, be strong, be kind, show that you are here for her, in the same way I wish I could be there ... And also you are not alone. I'm giving a mission task for your cousins..."
"Cousins?" Applejack commented until her eyes picked up some possible information, and then slowly her eyes went wide open. The duo of siblings who just appeared the day before, and seemed to be looking desperately for their own relatives.
"Mi Amore Cadenza and Blue River Blood the 5th are crossing the portal, and they are bringing every kind of help you may need, in case you need money, Blueblood will help you with the currency and try to find a way to deal with the diplomacy. Their mission is to help you to bring back Sunset with you. So I wish you a good time to enjoy your time living a new experience, but I also want to receive a letter whenever you can send it. Have good luck my baby dragon. Yours's true, Princess Celestia Solaris Sunrise of Equestria."
"Wow." Rarity commented, as she herself never thought she would see the full name of Spike's and Sunset's mom, and she looked very kind and yet powerful. As she was cleaning her own face, and getting ready to prepare herself for the day, she noticed that the other 3 girls in the room were staring at their own situation around such letters. "Well then, let me tell you what I learned from him, and his story... From what I remember, it happens with..."
And so the time was needed for Rarity to explain to the whole group of friends, everything that happened. Which was only the beginning of the crazy day they had.
