Twilight and her friends start having weird dreams, and at the same time, another group of stallions have the same dream.
Dreams are complicated and strange. But when dreams get so out of control that even Princess Luna can't control them, it means one thing- those dreams have something to do with reality.
"I'm so glad you asked us to come on this picnic" said Fluttershy.
"Thank you for coming here, but to be honest, I'm really tired, and had to make this simple" explained Twilight.
"I know, I couldn't get my beauty sleep either" said Rarity yawning.
"I had ah really weird dream last night" sighed Applejack, "I'm kind of embarrassed about it"
"Well, so am I, it was about um, my friend Soarin" said Rainbow Dash blushing.
"Friend, huh?" asked Pinkie Pie, nudging her playfully.
"Well, I did have a dream with Discord" giggled Fluttershy.
"That is adorable! Mine had Spike" chuckled Rarity.
"Oh my gosh! You like him back" gushed Twilight.
"I had Cheese Sandwitch, and I know AJ had Caramel. But what about you Twilight?" Pinkie said.
"How did you know?" asked Applejack.
"I came over to your place at 4 this morning for apples, and you were mumbling about Caramel dreamily" explained Pinkie. Applejack blushed. "So what about you Twilight?"
"Um, I had Flash Sentry" Twilight said.
"That hot guard with no personality from the Crystal Empire?" said Rarity. Twilight nodded sheepishly.
"Well, what was your dream about?" asked Twilight.
"Well, in mine, Discord had captured father, and I took his place. And then Big Mac was coming to kill Discord because he loved me, and all the servants were talking household items, and when the last rose petal fell, they would stay. I proclaimed my love for him, and every one lived happily" explained Fluttershy.
Flashback to Fluttershy's dream...
Father had gone to the market, and I was at home. HIDING from Big Mac. He kept saying 'I am the one for you' and asking me to marry him. I groaned, reluctantly going outside and feeding the chickens. "Fluttershy!" It was Gladmane's unmistakable voice when he would propose. I quickly ran inside, pretending not to hear him.
After about two hours, I was really worried. Father usually came back by now. I decided to go after him, and ran into- The Everfree Forest! As I slow trudged through the forest snow, I was confused. It was summers! Snow in summer? Timberwolves howled. I knew I had to get out of there quickly! I galloped as fast as I could out of there. Finally, I spotted a castle to take refuge!
I burst opened there doors, and picked up the candlestand. I heard father's voice. "Father let's get you out of here" I said, finding him in a dungeon.
"Fluttershy, you must go, there is a beast who's captured me!" cried Mr Shy.
"Who are you?" growled a voice from the other side.
"I've come for my father" I replied boldly, stepping forward.
"You're father's a theif" snarled the voice.
"Come into the light" I said. I gasped as a creature came out. He had a deer antler on the right, a blue goat horn on the left, one long fang, different-sized pupils, a snake tongue, a goat beard, and white bushy eyebrows.
He has the right arm of a lion, the left claw of an eagle, the right leg of a lizard, and the left leg of a goat. In addition, he has a bat's right wing, a Pegasus' left wing, a horse's mane, and a dragon-like snake's tail with a white tail tuft. I had never seen such a creature!
"Can I take his place?" I asked.
"Fluttershy no!" Mr Shy cried.
"At least let me talk and see him one last time" The beast hesitated, but pulled a lever, opening the cell. I tightly embraced father.
"Don't worry about me, I'm old, but you have your life to live" reassured Mr Shy.
"I get out of here" I whispered, pushing father out. "No!" he cried, as the beast through him out.
"You took his place" said the Beast. I nodded, as the beast walked off. "Wait!" I called, "What's your name?"
"Discord" he replied.
I sat alone, wondering how to escape as I heard a friendly voice say,"Hello!" The candlestick thingy was moving, and opened the lever for me to get out. "What, you did not think that, "Once this door closes it will not open again" was serious?" he said mimicking Discord's voice.
"You can talk!" I said in disbelief.
"Of course he can talk, it's just about all he does" said a grumpy clock. I stared, "I'm Cogsworth, and this is Lumiere"
"Let us take you to your room" said Lumiere. Pretty soon, I was in a room, and met a lovely teapot Mrs Potts and her son Chip. They were all so welcoming. But they forbid me from going to the West Wing. Soon I heard Discord come back. "You will join me for dinner" he demanded.
"Gently master, the girl lost her father and her freedom in just one night" I heard Mrs Potts say.
"Will you join me for dinner?" asked Discord, a little gentler.
"No!" I yelled. After half and hour, the household items escorted me for dinner, without Discord. They sang and danced around as I watched in awe.
I smiled, but knew I had to escape. But I decided to go to the West Wing when my curiousity got the best of me. The was a rose in a glass case, I watched intently. As I reached my hand to touch, I heard a deafening roar.
"GET OUT!" yelled Discord. I was frightened, and ran out back into the forest as the house items called after me. The Timberwolves howled meanicingly.
I looked around, and there was no escape. But then a roar came, and Discord battled the Timberwolves away bravely. His wounds leaked dangerously, as he collapsed unconscious. I cautiously came over to him.
"You have to be strong, you have to get up" I whispered, helping Discord get back to the castle. Over the next few days, or perhaps weeks, I helped Discord get better, fixing his wounds with ointments. He groaned painfully, and rolled over, as I sat next to him. I gently applied it onto him, as Discord fell asleep.
I asked them all why they cared for Discord, and they explained that when Discord's mother died, and his step father twisted him, they did nothing, and were paying the debt.
I slowly came to realise that I was in love with Discord! I loved his ways, how he read plays and books, and I found he was well read. I admired him, and we became good friends, perhaps more. And then, Discord asked me for a dance. I got ready, wearing a fine yellow ball gown. As I arrived, we both bowed, and danced the night away. But I knew I needed to go home. And Discord let me.
I raced back home, to see father being put in a wagon for madmen. I pleaded with the villagers, and showed them Discord in the magic mirror. But instead, Big Mac lead a huge town to go kill Discord.
I freed father and ran after them. When I got there, the households were battling the villager, and I climbed up the turrets. I saw Gladmane had wounded Discord, and begged him to stop. And then Discord fell, as the next gunshot fired.
Gladmane fell down the turret, but Discord was dying! I kneeled next to him, crying. And then I said it. "I love you Discord" Glowing light emitted from the rose and Discord, as they transformed back. Discord had gotten his powers back, and the households were normal again.
And summer light dawned on the castle. Discord and I kissed passsionetly,and everyone cheered and clapped. We danced the day away, and everyone called us, 'Beauty and the Beast'
"Wow Fluttershy, your dream sounded just like 'Beauty and the beast' so adorable!" gushed Rarity. Fluttershy blushed.
"Maybe I should confess my dream now" said Applejack, "Ahem"
Applejack's dream flashback...
I was in New Orleans, and I was working hard to get my goal in life- My own Apple Treats Restaurants, which was mom and dad's dream. I looked at there photo "I'll do ya proud Mom and Dad"
I took the train to the Tasty Treat, the restaurant I worked when Rarity came over to me. "Darling, did you hear? Prince Caramel coming here- tomorrow! And guess what? Daddy convinced him to come to our masquerade ball tomorrow night, didn't you Daddy?"
Rairty's dad nodded."I presume you'll be coming to Applejack? Rarity has the finest gown for you!" Rarity smiled and led me to her room. "Here you go, AJ" she said, handing me a beautiful light blue dress with long sleeves.
That night, while I was selling my apples, I heard word that I couldn't get the spot I had been hoping for. So I did the one thing I could. I ran upstairs to the balcony and saw a star glowing bright and wished on it. "Please please please" I said, my eyes shut tight. A tall green frog hopped over to me. "I suppose ya'll want a kiss" I said sarcastically.
"Well, that would be nice" replied the frog. I screamed and ran back. The frog pleaded I kiss him once, so he would become human, and told me he was Prince Caramel. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I leaned in, and kissed him. A poof of smoke appeared, and I saw I was a frog!
"But a princess' kiss always work" said Prince Caramel.
"That's just it! I'm not ah princess" I said, trying to get up.
"What! Why were you dressed like one then?" he asked.
"Mah friend had hosted a ball, and she gave me this dress" I explained.
"Well, we need to find a princess to fix both of us" said Prince Caramel, "Let's go!"
We both hopped down to the ball, and had to escape when people freaked out seeing frogs, and we escaped to the bayou. We both made an aligator friend, Louis, who wanted to be human, and play trumpet in a band.
He told us of a Mama Odie, who could transform them back. So I made a raft to travel along the bayou, while Caramel was no help at all, and I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. Soon we were hungry, and tried to get food like frogs, with our toungues. But that ended badly, because they got tangled.
A firefly named Ray helped us unite ourselves, a led the way because we were lost. After a few hours, we both got into an argument, and stormed off. But someone captured Caramel, and I was captured. Fortunately, we both made it out alive. After a few more hardships, we made mushroom gumbo for dinner, and I felt closer to Caramel somehow.
When we found Mama Odie, she told us that Caramel must kiss a princess in order to break the spell. We returned to New Orleans to find Rarity, who was the princess of the Mardi Gras Parade, but only until midnight. Caramel told Ray he loved me and was willing to give up his dreams for me, but before he could tell me, he was captured by the demons and brought to Facilier.
After Ray told me that Caramel loves me, I went to the Mardi Gras parade to find the human "Caramel" marrying Rarity; but Ray rescued the real Caramel and stolen the charm that disguises Lawrence, aka Fake Caramel. Ray found me and gave me the charm and attempted to hold off the demons so I could escape, but Facilier stomps on him. Facilier then offers me to make my restaurant dream come true in exchange for the charm. I realised I would rather be with Caramel, and realizing Facilier's true intentions, I destroyed the charm. The angered voodoo spirits claimed Facilier himself as payment for his debts to them and dragged him into the spirit world.
The clock was tickin, and I told Rarity to kiss Caramel, fast! Rarity took too long, and as soon as the clock struck twelve she kissed him, but nothing happened. So Caramel and I decided, frogs or not, we were meant to be together, and got married by Mama Odie in the bayou.
As soon as we kissed, green lasers shooted around us, and we were ponies again! "How did that happen?" said Caramel.
"You needed a princess' kiss, and ah guess after marrin' you ah became a princess" I concluded.
We had a proper marriage with all our family watchin', and eventually, by workin hard, we achieved my dream of our Apple Restaurant. The end.
Reality...
"Applejack, that was so cute!" said Pinkie Pie.
"Frogs, huh? Doesn't that sound like the Princess and the Frog?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Come to think of it, my dream was a fairytale too" said Rarity.
"Me too!" said the others.
"What's with us a similar dreams?" said Applejack, "I reckon we should ask Princess Luna what the hay is goin' on"
"Yeah, but first, I really want to hear your dreams" said Fluttershy.
"So, Pinkie Pie, what was your dream about?" asked Twilight.
"Oh, mine was a mega crazy super dooper fun dream!" said Pinkie giggling.
Pinkie's flashback...
I found myself in an undersea world, where I had a aqua mermaid tail! I looked around my secret grotto, and enjoyed all the different sights and sounds the items from the pony world included. I swam up to the suface and talked to my seagull friend, Scuttle.
"Hi Scuttle! Look what I found!" I said, showing him a long thin silver item with sharp smaller ends.
"This is a dinglehopper" explained Scutte, examining it, "Pony's use it to comb their hair"
I thanked him, and swam back to the grotto, as I stroked my hair. A small red lobster named Sebastian came to me. He was father's musician, a very close apperentice.
"Pinkie Pie, have you been going up to the suface?" he asked.
"Well, I-" I started.
"Nothing! Look at everything around you, we have everything we need!" he said, dragging me across the ocean, showing me all sorts of sights and sounds.
Sebestian danced and sang around, showing me how wonderful life is under the sea, and that we don't need the world above.
But still, U was really desperate to go the the land, but for now, my grotto was a close as I'd get. One day father discovered it, and he was outraged. He destroyed all of my collectibles, leaving nothing. I sobbed, and then that night there was a terrie storm.
I sneaked up to the surface, and saw a ship out there, with a handsome stallion on board. With another choppy wave, the stallion fell of the ship! I swam as fast as I could, and brought him back to the surface when the storm was over.
I saw his face, yellow of colour with bouncy chocolate brown hair. He seemed to be wealty, becasue he was wearing the finest clothes. He was unconsious, and wasn't waking up, so I sang to him. It's known that mermaid voices are the most beautiful, but everyone down there thought I was the best.
The stallion started coughing, and I dove back into the ocean. He looked aroumd dazed, as his dig came over a licked his face. "I heard the most beautiful voice, she must be amazing" said the stallion. I sighed, I was even more desperate to meet this stallion!
I swam back under, and went to the Sea Witch Ursula. She persuaded me to give up my voice to get pony hooves and go to land. I decided to trade, and went up to land. I had hooves, and a cutie mark! Three balloons, awesome! I spotted the stallion, and tried to tell him I saved him.
He stared at me strangely as I tried to talk. "You must not be able to talk. I'm Prince Cheese Sandwitch"
My heart skipped a beat as I tried to tell him who I was. He escorted me to his castle, where he gave me a lovely dress and food. I watched to landwellers ways in awe. It was unlike anything I had ever seen! The way they used dinglehoppers was wrong though, because they used it for skewering food, not combing.
I starting brushing my hair, as the men stared straight me. I got the feeling that wasn't right, and dropping the dinglehopper, chuckling nervously. That evening, the Prince asked me to go on a boat with him. I immeaditely agreed, and we enjoyed the romantic afternoon. We both leaned in for a kiss, and I felt excited. Ursula said if I get a kiss, I could have my voice and hooves, both!
But all of a sudden, the boat fell over into the lagoon, destroying the romantic atmosphere. I didn't notice that Ursula's eels had tipped the boat on purpose. I was upset, and we made our way back. One day, the prince seemed escpecially happy. He explained to me he had found the girl of his dreams, the one who had saved him. I was confused, because I saved him!
Then I saw, a pretty made with long brown hair, next to Cheese Sandwitch. As she spoke, I glared, realising that was my voice. I was sad, and met Gummy, my fish, Sebastian and Scuttle. "Cheese is getting married to Ursula! I saw her stand in the mirror and her reflection was Ursula's" panted Scuttle.
"We have to stop the wedding" said Sebastian, reading my mind. We arrived and saw the wedding was almost over. Scuttle and his friends distracted Ursula, and tried to get her shell necklace off, with my voice inside. Amongst the chaos, the shell fell, and broke. Pink smoke swirled to my throat. I could talk.
"I was the one who saved you" I said, gazing into Cheese's eyes.
"You? The who was that?" asked Cheese. Before Pinkie could answer, they heard Ursula's cry of rage. She had transformed into an enormous version of herself, with tentacles, using father's trident, creating a whirlpool and bringing old shipwrecks. I pleaded Cheese to save himself, but he was determined to help me.
He steered the ship's bow straight to Ursula, finishing him. We both were overjoyed as father decided it was high time to let me live my life. We happily got married, as my father, mother, and the sisters said goodbye.
Back to reality...
"Wow, that is amazing!" said Fluttershy.
"It felt so real" said Pinkie Pie.
"This is getting stranger and stranger, we need to call Princess Luna" said Twilight, writing a scroll. Rainbow Dash looked disappointed, "One more story?"
"Which of you had the Disney themed dreams?" asked Princess Luna, bursting in.
"Wow" said Applejack.
"We all did" said Twilight.
"Um, I don't suppose we need to discuss them any further?" said Rarity, blushing.
"I have heard the first three, it is time I hear top the rest, to get a full understanding" explained Princess Luna.
I found myself in a huge palace, in Agrabah. Princess Celestia was forcing me to marry, and I didn't like it one bit. "Twilight, you must stop rejecting every suitor that comes to court, the law says-"
"You must be married by your next birthday" I finished, knowing what she'd say.
"You've only got three more days!" said Princess Celestia, worried.
"Princess, I hate being forced into this "I sighed, "If I want to marry, I want it to be for love"
"Twilight, you're a princess"
"Then maybe I don't want to be a princess!" I said frustrated. Princess Celestia sighed, trotting back inside. I stared into the mirror pond.
"Twilight, you okay?" asked Spike, coming over.
I sighed, "I haven't even been outside these palace walls!"
That night, I wrapped myself in a brown cloth, and prepared to climb over the wall. Spike looked sad. "I'm sorry Spike, but I need to do this"
When day came, I found myself in the busy marketplace of Agrabah. Merchants offered me all sorts of different assortments of items. I saw a small child who looked hungry, and handed him an apple from a stall.
"You better be able to pay for that" growled a meneacing looking mercheant.
"Pay?" I was confused.
"Do you know what the penealty is for stealing!" he yelled raising a sharp sword.
"Please, if you let me go to the Princess I can pay" I pleaded. All of a sudden, a yellow Pegasus colt in rags came out of nowhere.
"Thank you good sir" he said to the merchant.
"You, uh, know this girl?" said the merchant uneasily.
"Sadly, yes, she is my sister- she's a little crazy!" said the colt. I opened my mouth to protest, but realised was he was doing.
"She said she knew the Princess" said the merchant warily.
"She thinks the monkey's the Princess" said the colt. The monkey faked royalty. The colt quickly picked an apple from the stall and prenteded to return it, and dragged me along. I was amazed, as he led me to his home.
Meanwhile, an evil sorcerer Tirek, was plotting to get Flash Sentry, the colt showing me around, the open the Cave of Wonders. "There he is my diamond in the rough" he cackled, looking at him in his Crystal ball.
We were talking as the subject of the palace came up. "I wonder what it's like to live there, to have servants, and valets" he said.
"Oh sure, people would tell you where to go and how to dress" I said, thinking of my life back home.
"It's better than here, where's always scraping for food and ducking the guards"
"You're not free to make your own choices"
"Sometime you feel so-"
"You're just-"
"Trapped" We said in unison. We looked into each other's eyes, feeling we had a connection, as we went into a sort of trance.
"Where are you from?" the colt said, breaking the silence.
"What does it matter? I ran away and I am not going back" I said firmly.
"Really?"
"My mentor's forcing me to get married" I explained.
"That's- that's awful" said the colt. His monkey chattered something, probably in anger.
"What?" I said.
"Abu says that's, uh, not fair" said the colt.
"Oh really?" I said in amusement, "And does Abu have have anything else to say"
"Well, uh, he wishes there was something he could do" It was obvious we weren't talking about the monkey anymore.
"Hmm, tell him that's very-sweet" I said, as we leaned in for a kiss. All of a sudden, the guards found us, and I knew Celestia must have sent them!
"Do you trust me?" asked the colt, extending his wing forward.
"What?"
"Do you trust me?" he repeated.
"Yes..." I said warily. We jumped down, and the guard captured the colt. I took of my cloak and showed them my crown. "Princess Twilight!" Said the guard, bowing. I could see the colt shocked, and I was upset I deceived him. I commanded the guards to release him, but they explained Grand Visier Tirek gave orders, and I had to take it up with him.
I returned to the castle and confronted Tirek. "The guards just took a boy from the market, on your orders"
"Your mentor has charged me with keeping peace in Agrabah, the boy was a criminal" sneered Tirek.
"What was his crime?" I asked.
"Why! Kidnapping the princess, of course!" said Tirek.
"He didn't kidnap me I ran away!" I explained.
"Oh dear, who frightenfully upsetting, but I had known..." said Tirek.
"What do you mean?"
"Sadly, the boy's sentence has been carried out"
"What sentence?"
"Death, by beheading"
I gasped, and ran out to the courtyard in tears, sobbing uncontrollably, and that I didn't even know his name.
In the dungeons, the colt, now named Flash, was muttering to himself. "She was the princess! I must have sounded so stupid to her" he said, struggling. Abu freed him, as he heard laughter. An old man came out, actually Tirek disguised. The stallion claimed of treasures, and to fetch him the lamp first.
Flash arrived in the cave, where towers of gold,coins, gems, and all sorts of treasures.Abu nearly touched something, but Flash stopped him. There was a huge mountain, and at the top was a golden lamp, seemingly worthless.Once Flash had it, he noticed Abu overcome by greed and touching a huge fire ruby.
"You have touched the forbidden treasure!" roared a deep voice, "Now you will never again see the light of day!"
"Abu let's go!" said Flash, picking the monkey and flying away from lava and rocks. He could see the entrance, but a boulder flew and hit his wing, clipping it. He desperately flapped, soon grabbing onto a rock ledge. "Help me out" Flash said to the old stallion.
"Throw me the lamp" he yelled.
"I can't hold on. Give me you hand" Flash said.
"First gives me the lamp!" shrieked the old stallion. Flash filled out the lamp and handed it to him. The man laughed with happiness, pulling out a dagger and grabbing Flash's wrist. "What are you doing?" Flash asked.
"Giving you your reward" the old man said, and then his voice changing, "Your eternal reward"
Luckily, Flash was able to fly a bit, landing in a cave, which a rockslide then blocked.
After a few hours, Flash woke up, and Abu handed him the lamp. As he rubbed it, fireworks shouted out and a creature with the head of a pony, a snail tail, a bat wing mashed with a Pegasus wing, a goat leg, dragon leg, blue and white horns, lion paw, and eagle claw. Flash stared, as the creature danced a sang around about the power Flash now had, three wishes to be precise.
Meanwhile, back in the castle, Princess Celestial was trying to settle the whole beheading issue. I growled angrily at Tirek. Celestial may want peace, but game on when she isn't around!
Seeing the chance, Flash tricked the creature, Discord, to get them out of the cave without using a wish. Flash was still wondering what to wish for when a thought ran across his mind. "What would you wish for?"
"Me? No one's ever asked me that before. Well in my case, ah, forget it." said Discord, looking away.
"What? No, tell me" I urged.
"Freedom" said Discord.
"You're a prisoner?"
"All part-and-parcel of the whole genie gig. Phenomenal cosmic power" he said, growing large, "Itty bitty living space" he added, shrinking into the lamp.
"Discord, that's terrible"
"But, oh--to be free. Not have to go "Poof! What do you need? Poof! What do you need? Poof! What do you need?" To be my own master, such a thing would be greater than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world! But what am I talking about, here? Let's get real here. It's not gonna happen. Discord, wake up and smell the hummus" ranted Discord.
"I'll do it. I'll use my third wish to set you free. Promise" I said, "Hey Discord, can you make me a prince?"
Discord flipped through a royal cookbook, pulling out all sorts of ridiculous things. "Ah to make a prince" First of all, Discord, changed Flash's rags. He transformed them into regal white and golden top, puffed and baggy pants. "Hang on to you turban kid, we're gonna make you a star" said Discord.
I came out to the balcony, after crying for three hours straight. I heard loud sounds and song, as I saw a handsome prince in Agrabah, one of my suitors. But there was something about him, something familiar. Despite his bragging, he was cute, I could give him the benefit of doubt. But when he paraded in, I heard Tirek, Princess Celestia and the so called Prince Flash.
I stormed off, and later, Prince Flash came to my balcony at night. He was so charming, but acted like every prince who just wanted riches. I was furious, and when Spike was scaring him off, he took off his turban, attempting to save himself. That hair... It looked like the boy who I met and fell in love with.
I stopped him, but he acted so 'high and mighty' so I told him to jump off the balcony. He did, and I wasn't serious, and stopped him. I asked him how he stopped himself. He told me he was a Pegasus, and asked me for a ride.
I knew he was the boy, I just knew it. The 'Do you trust me' and the way he did tricks with the apple, was exactly the same. It had to be him, it just had to. "A shame Abu had to miss this" I said, wanting to catch him.
"Nah, he hates fireworks. Doesn't really like flying much either" Flash said, not realising." That is...oh no!"
"You are the boy from the market, I knew it. Why did you lie to me?" I said, upset.
"Twilight, I'm sorry"
"Did you think I was stupid? That I wouldn't figure it out!" Flash looked around uncomfortably.
"The truth... the truth... the truth is" he hesitated, "The truth is I sometimes dress as a commoner-to escape the pressures of palace life. I really am a prince"
"Why I didn't you just tell me?" I said, not realising he was lying.
"Well, you know, um...royalty going out into the city in disguise, it sounds a little strange don't you think?"
"Hmm ,not that strange" I said, poking him playfully.
We bid each other goodnight, and little did I know, that Discord pushed Flash from below the balcony, as both of us kissed. I combed my hair dreamily thinking of my wonderful night with Flash, when Princess Celestia came. Sort of in a trance, she told me I was to wed Tirek. But I told I chose Prince Flash, and I sensed Princess wasn't herself.
Prince Flash came from behind, and shattered Tirek's Cobra Staff. The Princess' eyes changed colour to normal, as Prince Flash explained how Tirek had been hypnotising the Princess. I saw a gleam of gold in Jafar's eyes, as he through a liquid, disappearing.
