The End Of Times
The ponies of Equestria had lived in peace for over one thousand years, but unknown to them they had made there home upon the ruins of a once great species known as humans.
Unknown to them deep underground where ancient facilities for weapons of mass destruction called nuclear bombs and nuclear missiles.
Over one hundred millennia ago there was a race known as humans,they had such advanced technology that even to this day it was still there, hidden underground just waiting to be used one last time for war. And a way in to one of these had just been found, by one Daring do.
As Daring Do looked around hacking away at the jungles vines and weeds clearing a path to a temple long since forgotten by time itself.
She cleared away another patch of vines only to hear a metallic CLANK! Sound and with a confused neigh she took a closer look, using her hoof to brush away the vines, leaves and dirt she saw faded rusty white metal and some kind of panel.
“What the buck is this thing?....” She said in a confused tone, never having heard or read of something like this in her entire life of exploring and adventuring.
In the center of the panel was a faded cracked and chipped plastic covering, and underneath the now mud brown plastic, was a big red button.
And like any other pony, she pressed it, and suddenly the ground sifted underneath her as an ancient elevator started going down making a horrible screeching sound.
She let out a yelp of pain and covered her ears with her hooves and ducked down to the now moving patch of ground before she noticed she was going down as lights long since dead flickered to life. Soon the elevator reached the bottom and came to a screeching halt as she was thrown from it by the sudden stop.
She landed with a yelp and a thud onto weed covered metal flooring, she looked up and around her to see rusting metal halls and domes, all connected with large tubes with pointed tips reaching up for a half mile before stopping.
“Where the buck am I? This is not in any book or ancient map I've ever seen…” She said to herself as she walked down the only hall with the flooring not rusted away.
As she walked she found a large circular room with chairs and the skeletons of something she had never seen, they looked like the great apes of zebrica but less bulky, she had found a new extinct species! She was sure to sell a lot of books and make a lot of bits from this.
The were sitting in chairs, wearing tattered camo and black military uniforms and headsets, there hands still at the control panels for the strange devices she had seen back in the main dome.
She stared in awe as she walked up to one of the skeletons, looking closer she came to the conclusion that it had been bipedal and had most likely eaten meat if the teeth were any indication.
But something was bugging her, what where these things? What was this place? And what did those panels and headsets do?
She did not have time to ponder these questions as computers flickered to life and loaded in and something popped up on one of the monitors saying “satellite link activated’ as a view of Equis from space was seen, she was in awe as another computer said “targeting satellites activated, missile systems online, nuclear warheads, armed”
She tilted her head to the left one of her ears flopping down as she gave a confused look.
“Nuclear? Missile? Warheads? What is all this stuff?” she said to herself as red dots appeared all over the live image feed of Equis while the facility she was in was marked with a blue dot.
Blue dots where in the badlands,canterlot,neigh york,and every major city or landmark around the world as it said combat systems ready and a panel slowly slid up from the floor and a large red button was on the end, covered in a plastic protective covering.
The clear plastic case popped open and the red button glowed softly, and like a complete fucking moron Daring do pushed it, and an automated voice came from a monitor.
“Warning launching ICBM’s please stand clear of the launching siloes and retreat to the nearest nuclear bunkers, god bless America”
She yelped as the ground started to shake as missile silos rose from the ground around the facility ,canterlot ,and the badlands as 6 each rose from the ground ponies ran screaming in fear while others watched in awe at the unknown sight happening before them.
And suddenly the ground shook with explosions of light as missiles caked in rust and faded with time rose from the ground shooting flame and light as they raced into the sky and into the atmosphere most of them long since dead had trouble shooting into space, but with a few sputters and flickers they reached space and started turning around.
The missiles separated each stage leaving another part behind as the warheads raced back into the atmosphere, some having there heat shield lost with age exploded mid-entry having ponies scream and run in panic and fear as large explosions of blinding light erupted from the sky.
While the remaining warheads raced to meet the grounds of the badlands ,canterlot ,zebrica, and every other nation on the planet.
And as they hit their targets large explosions of light and heat erupted from the warheads impact zone as ponies zebra and everything alike was vaporized in an instant as entire cities where turned to ashes and dust while nations burned and where instantly wiped off the map, even the princesses themselves could not survive this attack while not even Daring Do herself was safe as the computer said.
“Error missile launch failure, please evacuate the facility imminent explosion”
Her eyes widened in fear and panic as she saw on screen what she had just caused, and as she tried to fly away from the facility racing down the hall and up the elevator shaft, she was to late as a second later she was vaporized like the rest of the planet.
And once again the world was bathed in nuclear fire as it had been so many millennia ago by humanity.
Life would one day return again, never the same yet never to the full extent equestria or humanity once was.
