> Starlight The Foal > by TwilieTheFoal > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1- Trixie's Magic Trick > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight, Twilight's pupil, was on her way to Trixie's wagon. Why? Cause The Great and Powerful Trixie needs Starlight to help her with a magic trick she's been practicing. Starlight trotted down the dirt path to Trixie's. She started muttering things under her breath "of course it HAS to be magic. Why can't it be for company or tea or something!?" Starlight then bumped into a blue and purple wagon. She was at Trixie's. Starlight knocked three times on her door before the magician herself appeared behind it. "Starlight! You're here!" Trixie got out of the wagon and hugged Starlight tightly before pulling out a huge chest. Upon looking inside the chest, they could see a bunch of magician props, but that's not what Trixie was looking for. She had to dig in deeper until "AHA!" Trixie yelled, pulling out a dusty book. It had a blue cover with a bunch of old tattered pages inside. "What's that?" Starlight asked Trixie, not expecting her to actually use a book for a magic trick. "Oh, it's just a book I've been using to try out new spells. And well, one of them caught my eye." Trixie explained, opening up the book so that both Starlight and her could read it. "Hmm, it's an age spell." Starlight said, reading the description. "Ok. I already know that. It's supposed to transform you into a younger version of yourself!" Trixie explained, her horn lighting up with a light pink aura. "Um, you do know that a younger version of us would be a foal, right?" Starlight asked. "Don't be silly Starlight. A foal would be a MUCH younger version of us. But a teenager would be a younger version of ourselves." Starlight just facehoofed at her statement, but didn't think much of it as Trixie began to cast the old spell. "Oh, so you wanted to cast the spell on me, huh?" Trixie rolled her eyes at Starlight's question. "Obviously, duh." Now Starlight rolled her eyes as Trixie's pink aura suddenly shot straight at her, engulfing her in Trixie's magic. Her eyes suddenly turned all white and Starlight could swear she felt herself shrink and shrink and shrink until she felt small. The spell was finally done and Starlight's now small body, thudded onto the cold ground. Starlight's eyes finally started to open to somepony screaming her name. "STARLIGHT!!!" Trixie screamed. "Wha-" Starlight was about to say, but all that came out was foal babble that Trixie didn't understand. "What are you- oh no! Oh nononononono!" Trixie exclaimed unhappily. Starlight was very confused as to why Trixie was acting this way. "Trixie why are you acting like this?" But nopony understood her. Trixie takes it that Starlight doesn't know yet so she grabbed her favorite mirror and showed her what she looked like. Starlight looked into it and saw herself as a...foal!? Starlight started wailing at the top of her lungs "I dun wanna be a foal!" "I'm so sorry Starlight, I never thought this would happen. I-I have no clue how to change you back, but maybe Twilight will." Starlight just cried in response, refusing to let Twilight see her like this. Trixie didn't want to deal with this so she just teleported herself, Starlight, and the old book to Twilight's Castle. "TWILIGHT!!!" Trixie yelled. Twilight and Spike immediately rushed down. "Trixie what's-" Twilight was about to yell when she saw a foal that looked like... "STARLIGHT?!" Twilight yelled, running up to her, now, foalified pupil. "NO! I don't want Twilight to see me in this state! Oh, how embarrassing!' Starlight thought as Twilight came closer, making her bawl. Why, why did Trixie HAVE to go to Twilight for this?! "Oh, I didn't mean to upset you but...why are you a foal?" Starlight cried even harder. "I uh, might have, accidentally used an old spell I stole from your library on Starlight, which ended up turning Starlight into a foal. I was hoping you could you know, find a counterspell for this." Trixie explained. "Trixie?! You stole from my library!? AND tested one of it's spells on my pupil WITHOUT my knowledge?!" Twilight bursted out, clearly upset, which only made Starlight even more upset, eventually falling out of Trixie's hooves and onto the cold castle floor. "Starlight! Are you alright?" Twilight asked levitating her student into her own arms. Starlight wanted to cry again, but her foalish instincts came in and she snuggled into Twilight's warm fur, making Twilight blush and Trixie snicker. "Trixie, this isn't funny!" Twilight whined. "Aww, but you and Starlight are sooo cute! I just couldn't resist!" Trixie exclaimed, laughing for a bit. Making Twilight blush even harder as Starlight snuggled in deeper. Which even made Twilight say "Aww." Even Spike had to d'aww before falling to the ground in laughter beside Trixie. "Ok, you two. Haha, very funny. Now let's get serious. Obviously I need to see the book first." Twilight explained as Trixie and Spike got off the floor, their laughs no longer there. "Of course." Trixie levitated the old spell book from behind her and showed it to Twilight, showing her the same spell she used on Starlight. Twilight carefully read the aged spell and she couldn't believe what she just read. "Nonononono! TRIXIE!" Twilight yelled, but still managing to hold Starlight close to her snuggly, warm body. "Twilight, i'm standing right here." Trixie stated flatly. "Sorry, but you used one of Starswirl the Bearded's old age spells on Starlight! No wonder she's a foal!" "I knew that it was an age spell. But, I didn't think that it would turn Starlight into a foal!" Trixie said defensively. "But, it literally says that it'll transform you into a younger version of yourself! What did you think it meant?!" Twilight asked, obviously annoyed. "Um, I thought it would turn her into a teen..." Trixie said slowly, realizing her mistake. "Really?!? You thought that Starswirl the Bearded would actually make an age spell to make a grown mare a teen?!?" Twilight asked, totally peeved. "I can see that I was totally wrong! But, how do we change her back? I honestly just came here to get a counter spell or cure or something from you. Since you're a Princess and all. But, I guess all you want to do is yell at me!" "Trixie! I don't know any counter spells for this. But, I can try to find one in the library, IF you help as well." "Ugh, fine, fine. But only because Starlight is my best friend." "Good. Now let's go." Twilight and Trixie both walked to the library, and began searching through rows upon rows of books. 1 hour of book searching later... Twilight popped her head out of a messy book pile. "Find anything!?" Trixie popped her head out of her own book pile and shouted "No!" Starlight was on the floor crying. She didn't want to restart her life. She just wanted to be a big pony again! "I'm sorry Starlight but...I don't think I can help. But, maybe Princess Celestia can help?" But that made Starlight cry harder. "Twilight!? We can't go to the Princess about it!" Trixie said, landing on the floor with an "OW!" She took little Starlight in her hooves. "Why?" "She'll throw me in a dungeon or something! It's obvious that age spell is illegal. Considering that even you don't know any counter spells. And we've been through this whole library!" "Trixie, don't be ridiculous! Princess Celestia would never do that! Especially since you're innocent." "But, isn't this illegal?" "Why?" "Because it's old and I shouldn't have mettled with it! Also, if it's written by Starswirl then, isn't it even more important and illegal!?" Trixie explained, although she does sound a bit crazy. "Trixie. It's not illegal. If it was, then why was a copy of it in my castle library?" Twilight asked Trixie. "Well. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go to Princess Celestia." Trixie said, but that didn't cheer up Starlight. "I don't want to see Princess Celestia! How embarrassing it would be! Please Twilight! Please don't take me!" Starlight thought as she whined about the idea. "Exactly! Now, let's go to Canterlot!" Twilight said, ready to go out the door. But she stopped and looked at Spike. "Um Spike, could you look after the library while we're gone?" "Sure." "AND tell Princess Celestia that we're coming!?" "Sure, i'll get to writing!" And Spike went to the library to find some scrolls and quills. Twilight and Trixie (who was holding foal Starlight) ran out of the castle. And to the train station. "All aboard!" The train conductor yelled. "Train to Canterlot leaves in 5 minutes!" He yelled again. Trixie, Twilight and Starlight boarded the train after showing the conductor their tickets (including Starlight's). Starlight, already knowing that meeting Celestia was inevitable, she stopped crying and remained with Trixie while Twilight was looking through that same book that Trixie had found. "I can't find anything! And i've searched the WHOLE book and the spell itself! Even the WHOLE library! Yet I- Princess Twilight Sparkle- can't find anything remotely related to this spell or even a cure! I'm a failure! I-i'm so sorry Starlight." Twilight almost shedded a tear but before that could happen Trixie smacked her across the face, making Starlight giggle. "Trixie! Wha-" Twilight was about to ask, but Trixie beat her to it. "Princess Twilight Sparkle! Get a hold of yourself! Just because you can't find the cure, doesn't mean you're a failure! Now, i've heard Starlight talk a lot about you, and not once has she ever said you're a quitter!" "But-" "NO! I don't want to hear it! Now, stop apologizing and don't give up!" Trixie finished. "Are you done?" Twilight asked cautiously. "Yes." Trixie answered. "Good. Cause I just wanna say, we're here." Twilight pointed outside. "Oh. We're here." Trixie repeated. Trixie, Starlight, and Twilight got off the train and into the fine city of Canterlot. "Ok. Are you guys ready?" Twilight asked Trixie took a deep breath before answering. "Yep." "Good, now, this might feel weird. But, it's the fastest way there so..." Twilight droned on before she just suddenly lit up her horn, and before Trixie knew it, she, Starlight, and Twilight were in Princess Celestia's throne room. Princess Celestia stood in front of the mares. "Twilight, so nice to see you again. Spike informed me you were coming. What do I owe the pleasure?" "Um, Princess Celestia. Trixie over here, used one of Starswirl The Bearded's oldest age spells. In the spell it said it was supposed to transform you into you're younger self. And Trixie thought that would mean transforming into a Teenager, but it instead, turned Starlight Glimmer into a foal. And, we came here for a counter spell." Twilight explained, making Trixie blush at the mention of her name. "Alright, give me the spell book." Celestia said. Twilight levitated the spell book to Celestia, making sure that it flipped to the same page as the spell. Celestia read a mere sentence before gasping and letting it out of her magical grip. "Princess, what is it?" Twilight asked, not expecting her to react that way. "This, spell was created by Starswirl to provide an alternative method to stopping monsters such as Sombra. I-it has no cure because it was designed to be cast by him only, or a Princess. Which explains why it ended up in your castle library. How was Trixie able to cast this complex regression spell on Starlight Glimmer if she's not a Princess?" "Starlight gave me lessons on how to cast complex spells and, I guess after some digging in my magical reserves I found the strength needed to cast the spell. But, I never knew that only a Princess can cast it. I guess I really am that powerful!" Trixie boasted after her explanation. "Trixie! This is not the time nor place to be boasting or gloating! Understand?!" Twilight scolded. "Yeah, yeah." Trixie said dismissively. "Ugh. Anyways, are you certain we can't turn Starlight back into an adult? Or at least try?" Twilight asked, but she knew the answer. "Yes. I'm certain. She'll just have to relive her foalhood all over again. But, Twilight." Celestia started. "Yes Princess?" "Before you go, I must tell you that her mind will also be regressed." "As in?" "As in her memories of you, or anyone else that became her friend, will be erased. She will literally start her life all over again. So, you must find somepony suitable to take care of her and become her mom/dad." "Oh. I-I wish I could but, i've got too many responsibilities as a Princess. And Trixie is a terrible choice because she lives in a wagon and is way too busy with her magic shows to take care of a foal!" "Well, that may be true and all, but who else besides me or you could take care of her as if she was their daughter?" "I might know. But, I hope he's up to the task. Since he's Flurry's foalsitter and crystaller. But, I think he could handle it. Plus he knows Starlight better than we do. He's the perfect choice!" Twilight explained. "Are you suggesting Sunburst?!" Trixie asked. "Y-yes. Why?" "Because he lives in the Crystal Empire! That's why!" Trixie yelled. Which made Starlight cry. "I cawn't wet Sunburst see me wike dis! He'ww waph or worse, he'ww wease me ta no ewnd!" Of course, all they could hear were screams and wails and foal babbles. What was the use of her speaking if they couldn't even understand her. "H-hey, it's ok. I'm sure Sunburst will say yes. He'll make a great dad. You'll see." Twilight said, cradling her after taking her from Trixie's grasp. "I not so sure Twiwight." Starlight babbled again. "Sunburst seems to be your best option so far so, go and see him." Celestia said, ushering them out of her throne room. Twilight and Trixie walked up to the front door of Sunburst's house and knocked. Starlight was trying so hard not to cry but considering the situation, it was almost impossible for her not to shed at least a tear or two. "Relax Starlight, I know that Sunburst will understand, and he won't make fun of you." Trixie said, trying to calm her nerves down. Starlight breathed once more before putting on her brave face, ready to face Sunburst. "I'm comin'!" Sunburst yelled as he got up to the door. He opened the door and what a surprise it was. "Twilight! Trixie! What are you doing here?" "Sunburst, may we come in?" Twilight asked. "Sure." Sunburst replied as he let Twilight and Trixie follow him inside. Making sure to close the door behind them. "So, what do I owe this surprise visit?" Sunburst asked. "Sunburst, if you haven't already noticed, Starlight is now a foal. And she needs a daddy. And I thought you could be her daddy." Twilight tried explaining. "What do you...?" Sunburst was about to say, but then he saw a little purple maned foal in Twilight's hooves. Trying to bury herself in her fur. "Starlight?" Sunburst asked, trying to get her attention. She looked at Sunburst and looked a bit confused. "Dadda?" Starlight asked. That time, everypony knew what she just said. "Uh.." Sunburst said, speechless. "Did she just?" Trixie tried asking. "I-I think Starlight's memories are starting to fade. A side effect of the regression. As in, she must not recognize Sunburst. Which probably means she won't recognize us either." Twilight explained. "She was regressed!? By who?" "By Trixie." Trixie smiled sheepishly at her name being mentioned. "What!? Why would you do that?" Sunburst asked, clearly not happy. "I-I thought it would be cool to use for my next act so I used it on Starlight to see if it works." Trixie tried explaining. "What?! Why would you even try to use a regression spell?!" Sunburst said, his face turning a bit red. "I-" "She thought it would be cool." Twilight interrupted, flatly. She looked down at Starlight and she started yelling and crying for her dad, thinking that Twilight was foalnapping her. "Can you stop yelling at Trixie and take Starlight!" Twilight yelled, breaking up Sunburst' argument. "Sorry." Sunburst apologized as he magically levitated Starlight into his hooves. "Hey, hey, hey. Don't worry Starlight, Daddy's here." He said, but suddenly blushed as he said the word 'Daddy'. "Did I-" Sunburst said, though everyone already knew he did. "Don't worry. You'll make a great dad. Besides, she already called you Daddy." Twilight said. "Yeah but, I have no foal supplies! How can I take care of her?" "Uh, go buy some or ask Cadence for some?" Twilight said, as she Trixie left the two, closing the door behind them. "*sigh* guess it's just you and me, Starlight." Sunburst said, smiling. "Baba!!!" Starlight yelled. "But I don't have one! I need to go to the store and buy one first. So let's go." Sunburst said as he left his house and entered the town square, searching for a certain foal store. Sunburst entered a foal store called 'Sunshine's Amazing Foal Store and More!'. He placed Starlight in one of the pink carts, and began the shopping, while Starlight kept whining for a bottle. "Hang on Starlight, we need other supplies besides a bottle." Sunburst went down the diaper aisle. He already knew which brand was the best. The one's that Flurry wore, Ms. Sunshine's Princess Print Disposable diapers. The other print was Wonderbolt Print, and that wouldn't suit Starlight at all. He took the big 50 pack and placed it in his cart, making sure to grab foal powder, foal wipes, and rash cream. Once he was done he went into the next aisle, which had various foal bottles lined up on each shelf, making Starlight whine even more. Once Starlight was in reach of a bottle, she tried grabbing it. Sunburst levitated the bottle away from her as he put it in the cart. But Starlight wanted another one, and tried grabbing another one, making one or two fall off the shelf and onto the floor. After picking the bottles off the floor, Sunburst scolded Starlight as he moved the cart away. "Starlight! You can't just grab things off the shelf because you want it! You made them fall! And what if that was glass? You could have seriously hurt yourself. Besides, I already put the first one you grabbed in the cart." "Bu I wanna baba!!!" Starlight screamed, kicking her hind legs in frustration. "Starlight! You're making a scene. Come on now, let's go get you a paci and some toys." "Baba!" Starlight screamed again, preparing to light up her little horn. Sunburst just ignored her as he pushed his cart to the Pacifier and Blankets aisle. Sunburst started humming as he began to look at the different pacifiers. "Hmm, Starlight? Do you like Pink with stars or Purple with flowers?" Sunburst asked as he presented the two pacifiers to Starlight. Starlight stopped her whining and looked at the two choices. Since she wasn't going to get her bottle anytime soon, she might as well pick before Daddy picks for her. She pointed to the pink one. Much better design than flowers. Ew. Maybe she'd get to suckle on it afterwards. "Alright Starlight. Star design it is! Here, to keep you occupied." Sunburst said as he placed the star designed pacifier into her mouth while the other went back onto the shelf. Starlight soon forgot about her bottle and concentrated on the rhythm of her suckles, while Sunburst began to look at the blankets. Since this store has the most comfortable blankets for foals ever, it wasn't too hard of a decision. But, he still wanted Starlight's opinion. So, he showed her some options. "Starlight, would you like the one matching your paci or this beautiful mint green one?" Starlight really liked stars so, she picked the star design one. "Alright." Sunburst muttered as he placed the star one in the cart and the mint one on the shelf. He was close to being done, but he still needed to get some toys. He'll worry about the crib installation later. Sunburst pushed the cart to the toy section. Making sure he get's a mix of everything. "Hmm. Is it better for her to have wooden or plastic blocks?" Sunburst asked himself. He tried weighing them out but, in the end, he had to ask one of the staff members. He knew Flurry had Plastic blocks but...he wasn't sure if wooden was better and if plastic blocks were better or worse for Starlight. "Um, excuse me?" Sunburst asked a light pink mare with a fuchsia mane and tail. Both were tied up into a neat bun. She was a unicorn. "Yes?" She asked. "I'm Sunburst and I was wondering...are plastic blocks better than wooden blocks or...?" "I'm Fuchsia Blush and I think it depends on the foal. Like, if they like to chew on things or have growing teeth than, plastic would be better. But wooden blocks could be better for foals that like to make towers and push them over because if it were to fall it wouldn't potentially break, raising low risk for the foal. And wooden blocks would be a bit better for the environment overall. So, wooden blocks would be a way to go." Fuchsia Blush answered. "Alright, wooden it is! Thank you Ms. Blush." Sunburst thanked, levitating a bag of wooden blocks into his cart. "No problem. Have a good day, Mr. Sunburst." Sunburst blushed as Fuchsia walked away to help another customer. He looked for some stuffed toys and found a cute pink teddy bear. "Oh Starlight! Look what I found." Sunburst sing-songed, levitating the bear to Starlight. Starlight got out of her trance as she looked at the pink bear. She reached out her hooves. Oh, how she wanted to cuddle her! Sunburst just chuckled as he let Starlight hug the teddy bear. He took out her pacifier so she could speak. "So, what's her name?" Sunburst asked his filly. "Hew name is Mowwy." Starlight said. The only thing Sunburst got out of that was Molly. "That's a nice name. Here's your paci." Sunburst placed the pacifier back into her mouth. Sunburst kept looking for more toys. But, the only other toys he needed would be bath toys because, Starlight isn't of age to play with dolls and...it might be better if Starlight only had one stuffed animal right now, so he went straight to the bath section. Sunburst decided to start with the rubber ducks. He took the original yellow duck, and then a few pink and green ones. He then went through some other toys but they weren't all that great. At least there were still some plastic boats. But, that's all he got. He also got some foal shampoo and body wash. He was almost done! He just needed some onesies and that's it! He made the cart into a racecar and raced to the sleepwear section, making Starlight giggle behind her pacifier. They were in the aisle in a matter of seconds. He began looking over at all of the pretty colors until...he found one that matched her pacifier and so, placed that one in the cart as well as a nice purple and mint green onesie. "There, that should be it. We'll look into strollers and crib installation later." Sunburst said as he raced to the cash register to pay. Then Sunburst placed Starlight on his back as he levitated all of the bags of foal supplies as he walked home. Sunburst entered his house. He walked into the living room and placed all of the bags of foal supplies on the floor and took out the bottle he just bought. He then prepared the bottle for Starlight. "Alright Starlight. Since you really wanted your baba so, here ya go." Sunburst replaced her paci with her baba and let her drink. Starlight greedily drank the milk. She was really hungry. Like, REALLY hungry. She had to take breaths in between suckling, she even hiccuped. "Starlight, take it easy. The milk's not going anywhere." Sunburst said cautiously, causing Starlight to blush a bit before suckling the last bit of milk left. Sunburst burped Starlight and placed the pacifier back in her mouth, she began suckling it again. Sunburst also gave her teddy bear Molly to cuddle while he got his living room ready. Starlight ended up taking a nap. > Chapter 2- Fillies Missing Part 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunburst nudged little Starlight, trying to wake her up. "Starlight, wake up!" Sunburst said, nudging her again. Starlight slowly woke up and yawned as her pacifier fell out of her mouth. "Sorry sweetie but...here's your new playroom!" Sunburst said excitedly. He also placed Starlight's pacifier back into her mouth. Once Starlight fully opened her eyes, her mood instantly changed to happiness as she saw her new playroom! She crawled to some of the wooden blocks and started to play with them. Since she was new to the whole block-building thing, she just banged them together. She giggled as she made noises. "BANG, BANG!" Starlight said happily, banging them together. Sunburst understood that, and used his magic to take the blocks away. "No, no, Starlight! You're not supposed to bang them! Here, this is what you do." Sunburst started to pick up the blocks with his magic and made a little castle. Starlight was captivated by the blocks and so, tried doing the same. But, her horn just fizzled out, not even picking up a single block. Starlight started crying. She was a failure! Her Dad can build a cool tower with his magic, so why can't she? "Hey, it's ok. You can use your hooves too." Sunburst explained as he knocked down the tower using only his hooves, making Starlight feel better. Starlight started to use her hooves like her Daddy, stacking each block on top of the other until it leaned over her head. Then she smashed it, the whole tower falling down, blocks scattered around her, making her grin from ear to ear. But, after that, she got bored with blocks and decided to use her plushies instead to make a tower, but she didn't have very many so, her tower was short but, she was ok with that. She smashed the tower down again, making giggles each time. Starlight walked away from her plush tower and crawled towards her Daddy. "Dada, caw I have a cuddwe? Pwease!" Starlight said, extending her tiny arms out towards Sunburst. "Aww, did you want a hug Starlight?" Sunburst guessed since he didn't understand foal language. Starlight nodded eagerly as Sunburst picked her up and held her tight. Starlight really loved this. She loved this so super much. "Tanks Dada." Starlight babbled as she cuddled even more into his soft, orange, fur. Sunburst just blushed as Starlight cuddled into him, but it made him feel loved. It comforted him to know that a little foal named Starlight, loved him dearly. "I love you Starlight." Sunburst said as he embraced his daughter. Starlight just gurgled happily in response. But then something broke their cuddle, the sound of Starlight's stomach. Sunburst picked up on it right away and cooed. "Looks like somepony is hungry." Starlight just giggled as she broke away. "Let's go get that tummy of yours filled up. Then we can go outside to the park. It's quite lovely in the spring you know." Sunburst said as he and Starlight went to the kitchen for lunch. Sunburst took out her bottle and placed it on the counter. Then he took out his milk pitcher and poured the white liquid into her bottle till the second last line, closing up the bottle, placing his milk back in the fridge. Then he levitated Starlight in the air and gave her the bottle, which she hungrily suckled down, taking a few seconds to breathe, before suckling it all down again, until the bottle had no more liquid. Starlight was then burped and placed back onto the floor while Sunburst cleaned out her bottle. "Now, don't break anything! Ok Starlight?" Sunburst warned, looking at his precious daughter. "Otay Dada!" Starlight could still partially understand but Sunburst never did. "Good, good." Sunburst said, assuming that she said okay. When Sunburst left the room Starlight scattered all of her wooden blocks on the floor, along with her stuffies and jumped! Which failed miserably. Instead of landing on her stuffy she landed on one of the wooden blocks, plus the floor. It hurt so bad that she started crying! "Dada!!!!!!!!" Starlight wailed through her crying. Her hoof hurt really bad! Sunburst heard her cries and immediately ran to her, embracing her in his arms. "Starlight, what happened!?" "I huwt my hooffy!" Starlight wailed, showing her dad her hurt hoof, which had a red hue to it. "Aww, you hurt your hoofy?" Starlight nodded. "Here, let me kiss it to make it better." Sunburst kissed her red, hurt, hoof. "Is that better?" Starlight shook her head. "It stiww weawwy stinwy." "No? Let's put some cream and a bandage on that." Sunburst carried Starlight to the bathroom to get cleaned up. "Starlight! Hold still!" Sunburst said as Starlight squirmed due to the coldness of the cream. "No! I dun wanna!" Starlight whined, trying to divert her hoof away from the cream's touch. "Starlight, if you don't stop, your hoof will only worsen and you won't be able to go to the park." Sunburst said, which caught Starlight's attention, so much so that he was able to quickly apply the cream on her hoof. Then he added a few bandages and kissed her hoof again. "There you go, all better." Sunburst cooed as he lifted her back up. "Now, are you still up for going to the park?" Sunburst asked Starlight. Starlight nodded her head. "Ok then, to the park we go!" Sunburst said but then stopped, realizing something. "We need a stroller. Good thing I have one." Sunburst placed Starlight on the floor and went down to his basement where he kept all of his unneeded or storage items. "Oh, Starlight, don't hurt yourself again. Or else you really can't go to the park." Sunburst explained as he made his way down the basement steps. "Ok Sunburst, you are looking for a stroller. It's black with decorative jewels around the hood." Sunburst said to himself as he scoured the basement floor. He kept doing so until he saw what he was looking for. He used his magic to levitate it up the stairs as he left the basement. "I hope you're still in one piece Starlight!" Sunburst said as he closed the basement door behind him. He placed the stroller on the floor and rolled it to the living room where Starlight was. "Good! You're still in one piece." Sunburst said playfully, Starlight looked at the stroller in awe. Why did Sunburst have this anyhow? Noticing Starlight's expression he said "you know, my Mom actually gave this to me for 'the future', that mare keeps on making future plans for me, even as we speak! Good thing I still have it." Sunburst placed Starlight in the seat of the stroller and buckled her in. The stroller also had come with a diaper bag, so, he placed a few diapers, some powder and wipes, a bottle, her pacifier, and closed it. He put the hood up so that the sun didn't go directly into her eyes. "Alright, we got everything! Let's go to the park!" Sunburst announced as the made their way out the door, the door closing behind them. Sunburst and Starlight arrived at the park. "Alright Starlight, even though you're a foal, we still need to go over some rules before you get to play in the park." "Rule 1: No running off, you need to stay close so that you don't get lost. Rule 2: No running off with strangers. It's okay to have friends but don't run off with them. You guys need to stay in my sights. Rule 3: Please stay in my sights. Rule 4: Please play safely, and come crawling to me if you need anything, ok." Sunburst explained, before taking Starlight out of her stroller. Starlight immediately crawled to the big sandbox next to the swings and began to play, filling (or at least trying to fill) a blue bucket with her hooves, though her other hoof stung a bit. As she was playing, Sunburst sat down on the nearest bench, watching his daughter from afar. Starlight kept playing in the sand, when a little foal that looked to be about 2 years old, still in diapers, crawling to the sandbox. "Hi! My wame is Wasper. Wha ya name?" The foal said. "Ma name is Starwight Wimmer!" Starlight said excitedly. "Wat wa doin' Starwight?" Jasper asked. "I pwayin' wit da sand! You wanna pway in da sand wit me Wasper?" Starlight asked. "Sure. Wet's make sand angew! Ya know wike a snow angew but wit sand inwead?" Starlight suggested, squirming in the sand playfully. "Ya! Wet's do dat! Dat sounds wike fun!" Jasper said excitedly, laying down on the sand. While Starlight and Jasper made sand angels, Sunburst just smiled at seeing his foal befriend another. He did this until a sleek, light yellow unicorn mare walked up to him, which made him blush a bit as she sat right next to him, on the exact same bench. The mare noticed him and blushed a bit before saying "hello." Sunburst looked both ways until he asked "are you talking to me, Ms?" "Of course, silly! There's nopony else next to me." "I-I guess you're right. I'm S-Sunburst. What's y-y-you're n-name?" Sunburst asked, his forehead sweating. "Nice to meet you Sunburst. My name is Jewel Box. Is that your daughter over there?" "Yeah, her name is Starlight Glimmer. Is that your son?" "Yes, his name is Jasper." "Wow, they really like the sand. Do you think they're friends?" Sunburst asked. "Probably, since they're nicely playing in the sand together." "Yeah. So, how old is Jasper?" "He's one years old. How old's Starlight?" "She's only 10 months old. But, she's almost one." "Wow, so Jasper's older than her." "Yep, but i'm sure it's ok with Starlight." "Yeah, to foals, age doesn't matter." "That's true." Sunburst and Jewel Box looked at their foals blabbering together. "Wonder what they're saying?" "I know, right. Why do foals have their own language? And why can't we understand it?" "I ask myself that whenever I foalsit Flurry Heart." "Y-you foalsit Flurry Heart?" Jewel Box was astonished before she put the pieces together. "Y-you're Sunburst! F-Flurry Hearts crystaller right?!" "Yes. Surprised it took you so long to figure out." Sunburst teased, making Jewel Box blush. "Y-yeah. I-i'm sorry..." Jewel Box stuttered. "Don't worry Jewel. I'm just teasing." "O-oh, I knew that." "Sure ya did." While the grown-ups talked Starlight and Jasper moved to the seesaw. Starlight went on the right side and Jasper went on the left. As they started the seesaw, Starlight striked up a conversation. "So, wa ya tink da gwon-ups talkin' bout'?" Starlight asked while she went up and down. "I dunno, maybe bout' us?" Jasper suggested. "Maybe." "So, Starwight. Why do gwon-ups talk funny? An,why caw't we underwand it?" Jasper asked curiously. "I-I dunno. I never tought of dat before. But. why caw't gwon-ups underwand us?" Starlight countered quizzically. "Gweat question. Too wad I don know da answer." "Yeah, I don know da answer eitha." "Whateva. Wanna pway on da swide? You know, da weawwy big swide dat swirls around." Jasper said, climbing off his side of the seesaw, Starlight did the same. As they made their way to the slide three tall colts in blue pull-ups came out from somewhere. "You fiwwies aren't allowed ta play here! Onwy big colts like us can play!" The big, mean colt said. "Hey! I no fiwwy! I a cowt!" Jasper yelled back. "Yeah! An why do ya have ta be so mean?! We just wanna pway on da swirly swide! So, why caw't we?" Starlight asked the bullies. "Because you too young to play on big slides that were made for big colts like us! So go and play on the wittle slide with the rest of da foals!" The bully yelled at them, kicking sand at them. "B-but we wanna pway!" Starlight whined, trying to kick sand at their faces, but unable to do so. "HAHA! You even kick like wittle foals! Go pway in da sandbox!" One of the other bullies said. "But we dun wanna anymore! We wanna pway hewe! On dat fun swide, meanie!" Jasper said, spitting at them. "Ew! They spit on us!" One bully said, disgusted. "They'll regret that!" The other one said, charging straight for them. Starlight and Jasper ran like the wind while the three bullies chased them. "Hewp! Daddy hewp!" Starlight yelped as she was almost tackled to the ground by the leader of the bullies. "Mama! Mama!" Jasper yelped as he, however, was tackled viciously to the ground by the other bully. While Starlight tried to reach her Dad, she was tackled by the leader. The bullies dragged them all the way back to the slides, except, one of them was holding a jump rope. "W-what are ya doin'?" Starlight asked, a little scared. "We awe gonna tie ya to da slide with this rope, since ya wove it so much." One of the bullies said. The bullies placed both Jasper and Starlight Glimmer on the side of the swirly side, tying them with the jump rope aggressively, all laughing their heads off, until their parents called them over. "Sea Blue, Sky Blue, and Aqua Blue! Time to go home!" "Aww, but Mama! We wanna play!" Sea Blue said. "Sorry but we can't be at the park all day! Now get over here!" Their Dad yelled, making them wince as they ran back. "Bye bye foals! See you tomorrow!" They all said as they ran back to their parents. Once they left, the foals started to wriggle in their bindings but, couldn't get out. Until a pegasus filly who looked to be about four years old, walked in their direction. "Wescuse me!" Starlight yelled to the filly. The filly looked around before asking "ya talking to me?" "Yes! Can ya hewp us!" Starlight said, still wriggling to get out. "Oh! Yes of course." The filly said, fluttering slowly to the side of the slide, untying them with ease, though the wriggling did help. Starlight and Jasper plopped onto the ground, their diapers cushioning their landing. "Tanks so much! I Starwight and dis is Wasper." Starlight said. "Oh, no problem and my name is Tanner." Tanner replied. "Well, tanks Tanner." Starlight thanked, going off with Jasper to the grassy area. "Starlight! Time to go!" Sunburst called. "Jasper! Home time!" Jewel Box called. "Oh no! We caw't go wome! Or ewse we might come back hewe agwain. Wet's run away!" Starlight said, running as quickly as possible to the hole in the black fence around the park. "But, wha happwens when ouwa pawents find out?" Jasper asked, running to his new friend. "Den, dey will twy to wook fow us, and den dey will neva bwing us back to da pawk!" Starlight said as she went through the hole, Jasper following right behind. "If ya say so, Starwight." Jasper had a bad feeling about this, a really bad feeling. > Chapter 3- Fillies Missing Part 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight and Jasper started running away from the park, making sure that their parents didn't see them as they ran past the park and into town. Hoping that the adult ponies in the Crystal Empire wouldn't try to return them to their parents. They kept running until Jasper started to slow down, and then eventually stop, which makes Starlight stop. "Wasper?! Why did ya stop?!" Starlight said dumbfounded. "I-I can't wun no mowe. I-I need ta rest..." Jasper said, exhausted. "Wook, our pawents wiww be lookin for us pwetty soon, we can't stop now. We can stop later, otay?" Starlight said, trying to reassure Jasper so that they could keep going. "Yeah, maywe. Can we find a-" Jasper was about to say but, Starlight just bolted, making him worry as he heard her Father's voice. And his Mom's, making him bolt as well, making sure to stay completely out of sight. Meanwhile... "STARLIGHT!" Sunburst shouted for what seemed like the 100th time. "JASPER!" Jewel Box yelled, deeply concerned for her son. "Oh, this is bad! Where could those two foals possibly be!?" Sunburst was getting ready to freak out. "Look, I know you're worried, I am too. But freaking out isn't going to help. So snap out of it, and help search for them!" Jewel Box slapped Sunburst, making him stop in his tracks as beads of sweat came down. "Oh, you're right. But, how can you stay calm in a situation like this! I told Starlight to not run off with anypony, and yet she did! Oh, I hope they don't get into trouble!" "It'll be ok, Sunburst, just stay calm. Let's look around the park first, maybe they left us a clue?" Jewel Box explained, walking to the back of the park, where all the fencing is. Jewel looked around until she spotted a foal-sized hole in the fence. "Aha!" Jewel Box yelled, waving to Sunburst to let him know she found something. "What-what is it?" Sunburst said, clearly out of breath. "I found something!" Jewel Box pointed to the hole in the fence. "Great work, Jewel! They probably went through there." Sunburst applauded, using his magic to levitate himself over the fence since, you know, the hole is big enough for a foal to crawl through. After Jewel Box did the same thing, Sunburst tried to determine which direction they went in. "Excuse me?' Sunburst asked a mare, whom of which, was sitting on the outside bench, watching 2 foals playing together. "Huh?" The mare asked, looking left and right before noticing Sunburst and Jewel Box. "Are you talking to me?" She asked, fixing her glasses. "Well, you are the only one here." Sunburst said back, making the mare blush. Jewel Box looked at Sunburst with this 'look', making her push him aside and say to the mare "sorry about that. We just don't have time because well...we lost our foals and just wanted to know if you knew which direction they went." "Oh, i'm sorry. I-I was so invested in watching the foals i'm supposed to be watching play, that I didn't see any little foals anywhere." The mare looked sincere when she said it, so they knew she wasn't lying. "Alright, well thank you anyways." Jewel Box said to the mare, making sure not to sound harshly at her for not paying attention. Sunburst and Jewel Box decided to just walk straight and hope for the best. "Those foals. They're going to be in so much trouble once we find them." Sunburst said as they walked into town. "Look, let's just find them first." Jewel Box said, walking behind him. Sunburst suddenly stopped and since Jewel Box was not looking upwards, she bumped into him, falling onto the ground. "Sunburst!? Why'd you sto-" Sunburst shoved his hoof into Jewel Box's mouth cutting her off. "Shh, I saw them." Sunburst said, slowly removing his hoof from her mouth. "Saw...the foals?" She asked afterwards. "Yes. I saw their tails go that way!" He pointed to the direction he saw them go in. "Really?" "Yes!" "So, let's follow them!" Jewel Box started to run in the direction that the foals went in. "Ugh, always so fast." Sunburst sighed, running after her. Back to the foals. "I saw their tails go that way!" The foals started to run faster, hoping that they didn't follow. "So, let's follow them!" The foals heard this while running and knew they'd be caught, so they quickly hid in an alleyway. "Do ya think we otay?" Jasper asked, staying in the dark space of the alleyway. "Ya, I dun think they will eva find us in here." Starlight whispered back, as their parents rushed pass the alleyway. The foals waited for a while before they moved out of their hiding spot. "Starwight?" Jasper asked. "Ya, Wasper?" "Do ya tink dat we will get in twouble?" Jasper looked like he was going to tear up. "It otay Wasper. We won't get in twouble be-be..." Starlight tried to say the word 'because', but couldn't say it. "Nevamind, wha I was twyin' ta say is, we too cute to get in twouble. An, I dun think that they will find us." Starlight said, trying to cheer him up. "Um, but, where we gonna go, Starwight?" Jasper asked, a little tear flowed down his cheek. "May-maywe dere is a daycare awound here?" Starlight suggested, wiping Jasper's small tear away. "It will be otay. I mean, at weast we won't have ta deaw wit dose, meanies at da pawk no more." "Y-ya I guess..." "It otay Wasper, we jus need ta find a daycare! Den we will be safe." "Otay, wet's go!" Jasper said running back out onto the streets, Starlight running behind. The foals began to go forward, even though their parents went in that direction. But they also knew that they had to keep on moving forward. "Otay, make sur dat owa pawents dun see us, an if dey are near where we awe, den hide, got it?" Starlight asked, making sure that Jasper was listening as they made their way up the crystal sidewalk, passing the crystal fountain. "Do ya think dat da daycare wiww twy ta find owa pawents?" Jasper asked as they walked forward. "No. I mean daycare's take care of ya, not give ya away." "Ya, but, wha if dey do?" Jasper asked, not accepting the answer that Starlight gave. "Dun wowwy Wasper, I pwomise dat we wiww be safe at a dayware, dey wiww love us, you wiww see." Starlight placed her small hoof on Jasper's tiny back, patting it, trying to comfort him. "How do ya even kwow wa a dayware is? Awen't ya wike...less dan a wear owd?." Jasper asked as he and she both hastily moved, ducking into dark places whenever anypony saw them. "I dun kwow. I gwess dat a wittle pawt of me wemembas it fow some weason. But, how do ya kwow?" Starlight asked back as they continued to run(to the best of their abilities of course) "Cause Mama wouwd somewimes twake me dere when swe needa ta wun ewwens. Pwus I am owder dan you so I kwow wot's of swuff." He boasted, making Starlight run a little more, Jasper following behind. They did this for a while before knocking into something...or someone. Starlight looked up and sighed. It was just a nanny. Most likely working for a daycare. The nanny in question was a blue crystal earth pony, her eyes shimmering with radiance, a beautiful pink filling the space, with a golden crystal mane. It looked smooth and silky. Starlight couldn't help but take out her little hooves and touch it, it was the most pleasant thing she has ever felt, it was magical. "Why hello little filly! Where's your Mommy and Daddy?" The young crystal mare asked, before noticing Jasper. "Oh! Hello little colt! Is this filly your sister, or friend?" Jasper nodded at the last one, so she took that nod as a 'yes'. "So, is your Mommy and Daddy gone?" She asked looking around, whilst Starlight just touched her long, silky river of a mane. "You like my mane, don't you little filly?" She asked, though she already knew the answer. "Say, do you little ones need a place to stay?" The mare asked, making the two foals hug her legs, obviously saying yes. "Aww! Well, I know a place, I actually work there. It's a small daycare called "Sunshine's Daycare and Friends!"" She said ecstatically, scooping them up and walking along the path, until they came up to a bright blue, yellow, and pink building, looking as happy as ever. The sign above said "Sunshine's Daycare and Friends!". The mare placed the foals on her back and entered the daycare, which made Starlight smile as she and Jasper played with the crystal mare's mane. "Here we are, at "Sunshine's Daycare and Friends!", now, let's go see if we can get you in, little ones." The foals cheered as they bobbed on the mare's back from her movements, now they were far away from their parents. Now back to Sunburst and Jewel Box Sunburst and Jewel Box walked past a daycare, with a sign that read "Sunshine's Daycare and Friends!", obviously the foals can't be in there, they can't even read yet. Much less know that the sign was for a daycare. Did they even know what a daycare was? "Hey!" Jewel Box called, looking at the building's sign. "Yeah?" Sunburst replied, walking up to Jewel Box, looking up at the daycare. "Do you think that they're in there?" Jewel Box asked, turning her gaze back towards Sunburst. "I doubt it. I mean, they can't even read yet, so how could they know that this is a daycare?" "Well, maybe somepony saw them and brought them here." Jewel Box suggested. "Yeah, maybe. How about we check inside?" Sunburst asked, making Jewel Box smile. "Sounds like a good idea, and if they're not there then..." Jewel Box trailed off, not knowing what to say. "...Then we should go to Cadance for help, after all, I am Flurry Heart's foalsitter." Sunburst continued, which caught Jewel Box a little off guard. "Um, yeah I guess that's a good idea." "Good. Now, let's enter." Sunburst said before lighting up his horn as his magic took hold of the door handle, opening it for Jewel Box. Jewel Box trotted inside the foalish establishment, with Sunburst trotting right behind her. Jewel Box and Sunburst went up to the main desk, which they presumed to be the sign up/sign out desk for when foals come in or out of this daycare. The mare at the desk was a crystal, earth pony mare. Her coat was a rose pink color, with a long, wavy hot pink mane to match. She had thick glasses on and was busy looking at something, so, Sunburst caught her attention by tapping the silver bell that laid on her desk. The mare in question perked her head up and was surprised to see Sunburst standing there, waiting. "Oh, sorry Sunburst, I was just busy with some paperwork." She said, her brown, chestnut eyes meeting Sunburst's gaze. "Anyways, what can I help you with?" She asked politely, waiting for Sunburst. "Ahem." Jewel Box said loudly, the pink mare taking notice. "Sorry M'am, but I'm talking with Sunburst right now, would you mind waiting in line?" She clearly didn't understand that Sunburst was with the mare. Jewel Box lost it with that remark, and blurted out "But I'm with Sunburst! We both lost our foals and was wondering if somepony found them and took them here!" "Likely story." The mare said, not believing that somepony like Jewel Box was associated with the awesome Sunburst. "But it is true. We both lost our foals and was wondering if somepony found them and took them here." Sunburst said, remaining calm. The mare's expression changed, and she said "I-I'm so sorry I didn't believe you Ms..." "Jewel Box." Jewel Box finished, standing right beside Sunburst now. "Sorry, Ms. Jewel Box." She said, this time saying her name. "Anyways, what are their names?" She asked as she took out a clipboard with the names of all of the foals who were signed in by their parents. "Starlight and Jasper." Sunburst said, as the mare looked for the names provided. After a while of looking, she couldn't find Starlight or Jasper. "Hmm, no not Cleo. No, not Leo. No no no, most definitly not Lilac. Ugh, I can't seem to find the names Starlight or Jasper in any of these names." The mare said, making Jewel Box and Sunburst sigh. "I guess I was wrong. Maybe they are still on the streets of the Crystal Empire." Jewel Box sniffled, before sitting down in the waiting area, crying. "Hey, hey. It's ok, we'll find them, you'll see. And they'll be just fine." Sunburst said, comforting her as he sat down right beside her. "B-but how can y-you be so sure?" She said shakily, tears still dripping down her face. "Shh, shh. I can't be sure, but I can hope for the best for our little foals." Sunburst said, putting a hoof around her shoulders, and giving her a tight hug before he realized something. "Hey, wait a minute!" Sunburst said getting off the chair, standing up. "How would their names be listed, if a stranger doesn't know their names? I mean, the foals can't talk to adults. So how could they list their real names?" "What do you mean?" "I mean that we should have asked the mare what were the last foals names that entered here." Sunburst explained, walking back to the front desk. While Jewel Box quickly followed behind. "Excuse me." Sunburst said to the front mare. "Um, aren't there other ponies behind you?" The mare asked, looking at her paperwork. "Uh...no. It's just us." Sunburst said. "Well, what can I do for ya?" The mare asked, her eyes still glued to her work. "Do you know the names of the last two foals that entered here?" "Um, yeah. It was..." The front desk mare said, looking through the list of names until she came across the most recent names. "It was Purple Flower, and Blue Twinkle. They were brought by one of our caretakers, Skylar Heart." "Why do you wanna know?" The mare asked, a bit skeptical of the parents motives. "Uh...no reason...thank you!" Sunburst said, stuttering a bit, as a big bead of sweat dripped from his forehead. "Ok. Well...bye?" The mare asked, totally confused as she kept looking at her paperwork as the pair left the daycare centre. Meanwhile, in the playroom... Skylar Heart placed the two foals gently onto the floor. "Now, please play nicely while I go get some supplies." Starlight and Jasper nodded as Skylar left the room. "So, wha we do now?" Jasper asked as his little eyes wandered the room. "I dunno, wha ya wan do?" Starlight asked as she looked around the room. "Well, wha is dere ta do?' Jasper asked, unsure what to do. "I dunno! Wha we do at dis pwace anyway?" Starlight asked, not even remembering the word 'daycare'. "We can pway? I mean dat is wha ya do at daycare." Jasper suggested. "Pway! Ya! We pway!" Starlight said, super happy that Jasper wanted to play. "Otay den. We can pway...blocks?" Jasper pointed towards the pile of blocks that no foals have played with yet. The two foals crawled to the blocks. Once they got there they decided to build a huge tower with the blocks. "So, how tall do da towa be?" Jasper asked. "Tawwer dan us!" Starlight said as she tried to use her magic to levitate blocks, but it failed and the blocks fell. Starlight tried a second time, really trying to focus on the block. Her horn flickered with teal magic and for a second, she got really excited, but the tiny sparks didn't lift the block, in fact, it made her head hurt a little. "Starwight? Are you otay?" Jasper asked his friend. "I jus not good wit my horn..." Starlight trailed off as she tried yet again, lighting up her horn with tiny sparks. She yelped right after, not even lifting the block. "Starwight!? Wha ya do?" "My heady-weady hurty!" Starlight yelled as she started to cry loudly, all the other foals just stared at her. Jasper hugged his friend tightly, trying to calm her down. "It otay Starwight! Ya can jus use ya hoofies! Wike me!" Jasper told her, hoping that she would stop crying. "Bu, I dun wanna! I wan horn!" She said, crying some more. As if on cue, Skylar Heart entered the room with foal supplies, but immediately dropped them and rushed over to crying Starlight, overflowed with worry for the little filly. "Oh Purple Flower! Where does it hurt?!" Skylar asked the little filly, scooping her into her arms, rocking her back and forth, trying to comfort the crying filly. "M-my headie!" She yelled in pain, trying to hold her hoof up to her head. "Aww! Does my little flower have a horn ache? Trying to use her magic when she's too young to!" Skylar cooed as she walked to a crib, laying Starlight down. "Wait here while I go get some cream to help your horn, okay." Skylar walked away from the crib and towards the small white cabinets above a changing table. Once Skylar reached her destination, she opened the cabinet and took out a small white bottle. On the bottle, in big, blue, bold letters, it said "Horn Cream for Fillies and Foals!" Underneath it, it said, "Lavender Scented Cream". "Here we go!" Skylar said as she pulled out the bottle, closed the cabinet, and made her way back to Starlight's crib. "Now hold still Flower, this might feel a bit cold." Skylar cooed softly. Skylar began to squeeze the bottle, letting it's contents empty onto her hoof. After some squeezing, she closed the bottle and placed it on the floor as she rubbed the white cream with her hooves before rubbing the cream on Starlight's head and horn, which, of course, made her struggle, Starlight began struggling as the mare kept gently rubbing the cream on her head and small horn. "It-it too cowd!" Starlight whined as she desperately tried to get out of the mare's clutches. "Now I know it's going to feel uncomfortable, but it's gonna help make your horn ache go away. You don't want your horn ache to get worse, do ya?" Skylar said, as she was rubbing the cream. "Nuh uh!" Starlight said as she stopped struggling, knowing that she didn't want her head to hurt. "Good girl. Almost done!" The mare said, as she finished rubbing in the cream. "There, all done!" Skylar said, making Starlight cheer. "Now, please wait in the crib while I go wash my hooves." Skylar trotted towards the built in sink that was near the changing tables. As Skylar washed her hooves, Starlight looked down from the crib and saw Jasper playing with some blocks, he didn't look like he was having fun. Starlight began whining for him, holding her hooves out to him, as if to reach out to him. Of course, before she could whine any further, Skylar came back and lifted little Starlight out of her crib prison, placing her back on the floor next to Jasper. Starlight smiled while Skylar walked away to take care of another foal. "Hi Wasper!" Starlight said. "Starwight! Are you otay?! I saw dat mawe put white on ya hownie!" Jasper said, pointing to Starlight's horn. "Oh dat! Dat mawe wa jus puttin some cweam on ma hownie so dat I dun get a headie ache." Starlight explained. "Oh, weww I jus gwad you otay!" Jasper said, hugging his friend. For some reason, Starlight felt weird for a second. She didn't know what was happening. All she knew now was that Jasper is her only true friend, and now, she's made a new memory. "Wasper?" Starlight asked, breaking the hug. "Yeah, Starwight?" Jasper answered, pulling away as well. "Awe ya weawwy my fwiend?" "Of cowse I am! I your best fwiend!" Jasper said. "Tankies Wasper." Starlight said. "So, ya wanna pway wit bwockies?" Jasper asked, picking up a wooden block and placing it on the floor in between the two. "Ya, sounds wike fun Wasper." Starlight said, learning her lesson and placing a block next to the block Jasper placed down, using her hooves and not her horn. They kept on stacking their blocks on top of each other until they made a tall, leaning, tower. It was so tall that a few of the other foals in the daycare stopped what they were doing and looked at it in amazement. A fuchsia coated filly with a braided blonde mane, tied with a pretty pink bow, crawled over to Starlight and Jasper. "Hi! I saw ya towa and I tink it wooks coow!" The crystal foal said, sitting next to Starlight. "Hi! Tankies fow wooking at owa towa! My name is Starwight, an dis is my fwiend Wasper." Starlight said, introducing them to the crystal filly. "Hi Starwight. My name is Seashwell Shwore. I wanna see ya buiwd dat towa again! Or show me how ta buiwd one!" Seashell said, pointing her hooves at the wooden blocks they were playing with. 'Yeah we can!" Starlight told Seashell, knocking down their tall tower with her hooves. The blocks tumbled onto the ground, almost drowning poor Seashell. Starlight looked at her worriedly, hoping that Seashell was okay. Her questions had been answered, because Seashell rose from the pile, giggling. "Are you otay!?" Starlight asked worriedly as Seashell walked out of the pile, giggling all the while. "Dat was fun! Wanna do it awain!" Seashell asked, which made Starlight a little annoyed. "No! Ya wanna huwt yowsewf?" Starlight asked, glaring at her. "No, I-I jus dought dat da was fun. Sowwy fow makin ya feew bad." Seashell said, looking at Starlight with sad eyes. "How about we buiwd a towa!" Jasper intervened, hoping that the two foals would play nice. "Ya, I gwess dat we couwd buiwd. Hey, you wanwed ta buiwd one anyways, wight?" Starlight said, looking at Seashell with hopeful eyes. "Ya, I did, I did!" Seashell said, her small smile returning. "Awight den, I guess we can buiwd a taww towa." Jasper said, putting down the first block. Starlight placed down the second block, stacking it onto the first block. Seashell copied, placing down the third block, stacking it on Starlight's block. The foals kept on doing it for a while, until their little hooves couldn't reach the top anymore. The three foals took some time to admire their creation before using their hooves to knock it down, laughing as they were buried in a pool of blocks. "Dat was fun Starwight!" Seashell said excitedly. "Can we do it awain?" Seashell asked, getting out of the pool of foal blocks. "But dun ya wanna pway sometin ewse?" Jasper asked, hoping that she'll say yes. "Wike what?" Seashell asked, a bit disappointed that her new friends didn't want to build a third tower. "Hide and Week!" Starlight shouted, blushing when all of the foals just looked at her. "You wanna pway dat game?" Jasper asked. "Ya!" "But, whewe can we hide?" "Um. Whereva?" Starlight said. Before the other foals say anything more, Starlight tapped Jasper and said "You count!" "Aww, but why me!" Jasper whined. "Cause I said so! Now count!" Starlight demanded, running away with Seashell to hide. "Fine! One. Two. Twee. Fwour. Fwive. Wix. Weven. Uh...Wen!" Jasper said, not knowing how to fully count yet. Jasper opened his eyes and started searching for his friends. "Now whewe did dey go?" Jasper pondered, looking in more obvious places, not finding his friends. He looked inside the big changing table in the corner. He opened up the cabinets inside of the table. All he saw were big poofy diapers, bottles of foal powder, and rash cream. No Starlight or Seashell in there. He walked away from there and looked in something that he should have looked in from the start. In the middle of the room was a big pile of plushies. He crawled over to it and took out some plushies, throwing them to the floor. Once Jasper did that, he tapped Starlight on the nose and yelled "Found you!" "Ya, you did. I dun tink dat ya were gonna fwind me so fast." Starlight explained, crawling out of the big, soft pile. "Ya, well you was wrong." Jasper said, helping Starlight up. "Whateva. Wet us go fwind Seaswell." Starlight said, trying to hide her annoyance. "Otay. Where do ya tink Sea is hidin?" "Uh...I dunno. Did ya check dat tabwe?" Starlight pointed to the big changing table in the corner. "I aweady check dere! I dun see you ow Sea." Jasper answered. "Weww, wha awout unda dere!" Starlight pointed to a rocking chair, where the caretaker, Skylar Heart, was sleeping. "Huh. I dun check dere. Wet us go!" Jasper said, crawling to the chair. Starlight following suit. Once they were there, they looked underneath and saw Seashell. Making sure not to disturb Skylar, Jasper quietly whispered, "Found ya." Booping her on the nose. Seashell came out from her hiding spot and crawled away, with Jasper and Starlight following behind her. Once they were in the middle of the room, the foals looked at each other, wondering what to do now. "Weww, we pwayed towa, hide an week. What ewse do ya wanna pway?" Seashell asked dumbfounded. "Uh...we can pway dun waugh?" Jasper suggested. "Wha game is dat?" Starlight asked. "One pony has ta do whateva dey can tink of to make da otha ponies waugh! Da onwy ting ya cawn't do is touch da otha pony. So no tickwe monsta." Jasper explained. "Coow! I wanna pway!" Starlight said. They both looked at Seashell. "Are ya gonna pway?" "I dunno. I wanna pway hot potado." Seashell said. "We can pway hot potado befwore my game, if ya wan." Jasper said, hoping that'll make Seashell happy. Seashell quickly crawled away and grabbed a small teddy bear. She crawled back to her friends as they sat in a small circle. Seashell joined the circle and began passing the teddy bear and singing the foalish tune. After a while of doing that, they decided it was time to do Jasper's game. "Awright. Wet us twy dat otha game dat Wasper wanna pway." Seashell said, tossing the teddy to the side. "Ya! Wha was it awain?" Starlight asked, her foalish mind already forgetting. "Dun waugh. Whewe one pony has ta do whateva dey can tink of ta make da otha ponies waugh. But no tickwe monsta, an no otha touchin." Jasper explained, again. "Otay! Since it Wasper's game, wet him be da one dat has ta make us waugh." Starlight said. "Otay! Sound fwair ta me!" Seashell said. "Otay, fwine. I wiww twy ta make ya waugh, but no touchin." Jasper said, emphasizing the 'no touching' part. Jasper decided to try to make them laugh using jokes. "Otay ya two. Knock, Knock." "Who dere!" Both fillies responded at the same time. "Cow go." "Cow go who?" Both fillies asked in unison. "No, cow go moo!" Jasper said, giving a little giggle. Both the fillies tried not to laugh, but couldn't hold it, well at least not Seashell. After a while, Seashell finally gave in and laughed. "Weww, I got Seaswell." Jasper said, happy that his joke made someone laugh. "Now time ta get Starwight!" Seashell said. Jasper thought of another way to make her laugh. Funny Faces! "Hey Starwight, wook here!" Jasper said, trying to get her attention. Starlight looked at his face and saw his funny face. He was using his hooves to pull his mouth, making an exaggerated smile, his tongue sticking out of his mouth as he does so. And his eyes started to bounce around his eyes. That did it. Starlight smiled. Then she let out a small giggle, before full on laughing. "Yay! I made ya waugh!" Jasper said excitedly. "Oh ya? Weww I can make ya waugh to!" Starlight said as she jumped on top of Jasper, tickling him. "Hey! I waid no tickwe monsta!" Jasper yelled as he squirmed from the tickle attack. "Weww, we pwayin tickwe monsta now!" Starlight shouted as she tickled him relentlessly. "Hey Seawell! Ya wanna join?" Starlight asked, looking at Seashell. "Ya Starwight!" Seashell said, joining in the tickle torture. As Jasper continued to squirm, he realized that he couldn't win, and he really needed to pee. "Pwease, stop! Ya gonna make me pee!" Jasper squealed, still laughing from the torture. "Dat otay. Ya can jus get a diapee change afta." Seashell said, still tickling Jasper's tummy. "Ya, Wasper. We awe havin fun!" Starlight said, having no mercy on Jasper. After a while of kicking and squirming. He gave up and peed his diaper. The two foals stopped their tickling and saw Jasper's diaper getting more and more yellow. Soon, there was a big yellow stain where the crotch area is. Once he was done, his diaper was a bit more poofy, and when he stood up, his diaper sagged and made a few squelch noises. "Dere. Ya happy now?" Jasper asked as he blushed, jumping on top of Starlight. "Wha ya doin?" Starlight asked, but when he started tickling her, she already knew what he was doing, and why. "Dis is fow tickwin me!" Jasper shouted as he tickled her tummy for quite sometime. After a while Starlight also gave in and peed her diaper. Starlight stood up, her now, yellow stained diaper sagging and squelching as she did so. She looked at Seashell, and so did Jasper. She was the only one without a yellow diaper. She looked at them and tried to run away, but they both jumped on her before she could crawl away. "H-hey! S-stop...pwease!" Seashell pleaded. But it was no use, and soon she also gave in. Her white diaper, now an icky yellow. They stopped the tickling and let Seashell get up, her diaper also sagging. After that, they did the best they could to crawl towards Skylar, who was still sleeping on her chair. Starlight tried getting her attention by pulling her silky mane. She even tried playing with it. But, the mare didn't move an inch. Seashell was next. She tried to gain her attention by pushing her rocking chair. But that failed miserably, seeing as how she's a foal and all. She just gave up and looked at Jasper. Jasper just sat on the ground, which made his wet diaper squelch. "Wha ya doin?" Starlight asked. "Wha ya diwdn't do." Jasper replied. He thought of how icky his wet diaper felt and how a brand new diaper would be great. And suddenly, without warning, he let out a high pitched wail, and cried his eyes out. As he did so, Skylar finally woke up and looked at Jasper. "Oh my! Was I sleeping again?" She asked, although she didn't expect an answer back. She looked at the crying foal, and Starlight and Seashell, who began to cry as well. Skylar noticed the yellow stains on all of their diapers and realized why they were crying. "Oh you poor foals! Looks like you all need diaper changes." Skylar cooed as she took the three crying foals to the changing table. "Now you two wait here while I change Blue Twinkle, ok?" The other two foals nodded as Jasper was lifted up and onto the changing table. Skylar quickly changed his diaper, and then Starlight's, and finally Seashell's. After their quick changes, they all went back to playing. After a while of playing, it was naptime. "Alright everypony! Time for you all to take a nap." Skylar cooed, bringing out some pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, and mats for the foals to sleep on. She then took the younger foals and placed them in cribs. Starlight was placed in the same crib as Jasper, considering there weren't too many. Seashell was placed in a different crib. "Goodnight my little ponies. I'll see you all a little later, okay? Have a nice nap." Skylar whispered to the foals as she sat down on her rocking chair, taking a quick power nap. Back to Sunburst and Jewel Box "Now what do we do? We can't just go back in there and ask if we can pick up Purple Flower and Blue Twinkle. We'll look suspicious!' Jewel Box said, still upset that her son is basically trapped inside that daycare. "Sure we can. We just need a disguise." Sunburst said. This made Jewel Box look at him weirdly. "What kind of...disguise?" Jewel asked quizzically. "Well..." > Chapter 4- Fillies Found > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Seriously?!" Jewel Box asked, yelling a bit too loudly, which made them receive some pretty awkward stares. "What? It's not like you could've came up with anything better!" Sunburst argued. "Yeah, well, at least I wouldn't make us wear wigs and trench coats! We'll look suspicious!" Jewel countered. "Look, if she asks, we'll tell her that we're both just detectives." "Really? You think that that mare will fall for that?" "Uh...yes." Sunburst said sheepishly. "If you say so." Jewel Box entered the establishment, along with Sunburst. Jewel Box wore a dark purple wig and a long grey trench coat, and a hat to match. Her coat was also coloured a light, almost white, pink colour. She sighed as she walked up to the mare. She still has doubts that this will work. The mare turned around and was surprised to see the mare. "Uh...how may I help you?" The mare asked, clearly bewildered. "Yes, you see, I'm looking for a...Purple Flower? I'm her Mother after all." Jewel said, changing her voice into something more girly. "Oh! You're her Mother? You look a bit...suspicious." "Oh, that's probably because I'm still in my undercover outfit." Jewel Box replied. "Undercover? Are you a spy...or something?" "Detective Petals. Rosa Petals." Rosa said, introducing herself. "Oh. Uh, but isn't it super obvious that you're a detective in that outfit?" The mare questioned. "Yeah, well, I was undercover at a Casino. Those places are very sketchy. So I blended right in." Rosa explained. "Oh, that explains it. I'll go ask for a caretaker. Just wait here." "Wait!" Rosa exclaimed, grabbing the mare's attention once more. "I wanted to ask for my son as well!" The mare looked at her weirdly. "Your son? You only remembered him now?" "Well, it's hard to keep track when you have 10 kids." "10!?" The mare exclaimed, totally shocked. "Well, I have 2 kids here, 5 in Kindergarten, and 3 at home." Rosa said, trying to act calmly. "Oh. Well I guess that makes sense. What's his name?" The mare asked, starting to flip the list of names. "Blue Twinkle." She stated. The mare hummed to herself as she looked through the list of foal names. After flipping through three pages she found the name Blue Twinkle. "Ah, yes. Here he is. Now I'll go ask a caretaker to fetch them both for you, while you stay here." As the mare got up, Rosa yelled something at her. "Wait! I-I was wondering if you had any water? I'm parched." The mare looked at her with an odd expression before pouring her a glass of lemon water. "There you go detective. Now, please let me go fetch the caretakers." At that point, Sunburst came back out of the door with 2 foals. "Um, you know what. That won't be necessary." Rosa said as she and Sunburst ran away. The mare looked at her confused. But thought nothing of it. *What Sunburst was doing* As Jewel Box was distracting the mare, Sunburst, who wore a detective hat with a matching grey trench coat, snuck inside the daycare playroom. As soon as he entered he used his eagle eyes to spot Starlight and Jasper. They were playing tea party with another foal. They're right there, out in the open. But, he can't just go up there and grab them, the caretakers would notice for sure! While he was thinking, a crystal mare, presumably a caretaker, walked up to him. "Um, excuse me, but the playroom is for caretaker staff only. If you're here to pick up your child, you will have to ask Ms. Royal Rose. So, I'll have to ask you to leave." "Well, I'm a caretaker." Sunburst said calmly. "You certainly don't look like one." The caretaker said. "Well that's because I'm dressing up for the foals." Sunburst said. Sweat started to form on his forehead. "Really? What are you dressing up as?" The mare questioned. "As a detective. Me and the foals are about to find out who stole Mr. Fluffypants." "Mr. Fluffypants?" "Yes! It's a white stuffed bunny. And, if I don't start my investigation soon, then those foals will be very sad and start crying their little eyes out." "Um, well have fun." The caretaker mare said. But before Sunburst was in the clear, the mare said "Wait! What's your name?" "Uhh, Sourburst Shine." Sunburst said. "Wow. What a nice name! I'm Skylar Heart." "Nice name." Sunburst replied before heading over to the foals. Once he was near the foals he snatched them! And nopony saw him as he quickly ran out of the playroom. As Sunburst ran out, Jewel Box quickly told the mare "Um, you know what. That won't be necessary." And they both ran out together. The mare didn't suspect a thing. Once the couple was out, they ran back to Sunburst's home since his was the closest. As soon as they were inside Sunburst locked the door before placing the two foals on the main carpet. Once they both took their disguises off they immediately started to yell at the foals. "Starlight! I told you to stay in my sights and not wander off with foals! You nearly killed me, I was so worried!" Sunburst yelled as he picked up Starlight and held her close to his heart. "I-I sowwy Dada." Starlight said, even though the parents couldn't understand, except for the word 'Dada'. "Aww, it's alright Starlight. I'm just glad you're safe." "Yeah, me too." Jewel Box said as she cuddled with Jasper. "Hey, Jewel?" "Yes Sunburst?" "Do you think they'll be looking for us?" "Not sure. I mean they seem nice and all, but they probably don't care if a couple of foals were missing." Jewel Box said. "I hope you're right. Hey! I have an idea." Sunburst said, placing Starlight on his back as he got up. "What is it?" Jewel asked curiously. "Would you mind coming with me to an adoption centre to make it official?" "Make what official?" "Starlight becoming my daughter." "Wait. Starlight isn't your daughter?" Jewel box asked in a weird tone. "Why are you surprised? Have I not told you this before?" "Nope. You told me that Starlight is your daughter and that she's 10 months old. I'm pretty sure I'd remember you saying something like that." "Oh. Well, do you want to know how Starlight really became my daughter?" Sunburst asked, sitting down on a cushion with Starlight. "Well, yeah!" Jewel Box said. Sitting on a cushion across from him. "Ok. Well, it sounds crazy, but Starlight used to the an adult. And not just any adult, she was my very best friend. Since childhood, actually." Sunburst said, fixing his glasses before carrying on. "She was also Princess Twilight Sparkle's protege. Or student, whatever you want to call it. She did it to stray away from her evil path and begin a better one. Later, she made friends with a magician named Trixie. And one day, Trixie thought it was a good idea to practice an age regression spell on Starlight. But once she did, she didn't know how to reverse it. So she went to Twilight, and even she didn't know how to reverse it. So in short, they both appeared on my doorstep and explained everything to me. I was furious with Trixie. But, before I could say anything about the situation, they left." Jewel Box looked at him as if he left on a dramatic cliffhanger. He fixed his glasses before continuing. "So afterwards, I took her to the store to get foal supplies so that I could properly take care of her. I figured that Twilight couldn't take care of her because of her duties as a Princess, even if it made more sense for Twilight to take care of her. Trixie couldn't because of her life in general. So, since I have nothing important to do, I guess I was the next best thing. Considering I have more experience when it comes to foals, thanks to Flurry Heart." "Wow. So you're her father now? What about her real parents?" Jewel Box asked. "I'm not sure. I mean I've met her father, but I think she's used to me being her dad. And, I wouldn't want to separate her from her friend." Sunburst said, looking at Jasper. "You're right. Jasper and Starlight are the very best friends. Just like us." Jewel Box said. Sunburst blushed. "Yes, we have become quite fond of each other." Sunburst said, getting lost in thought as he blushed while looking at her pristine yellow coat. "Ahem." Jewel box coughed, trying to wake Sunburst from his thoughts. "Oh, right! So...that means you'll come with me to officially adopt Starlight?" Sunburst asked. "Of course I will." Jewel Box replied, placing Jasper back on her back as she got up. Sunburst did the same with Starlight before asking. "You're not weirded out by this, are you? I mean, it's a lot to take in." "Of course I am. But, I don't doubt that it's true. I mean, weirder things have happened than a unicorn being regressed and being their childhood friend's new daughter." Jewel Box stated, which made Sunburst laugh. "Thank you Jewel Box." "No problem Sunburst. After everything that happened today, I'm just glad that everything worked out in the end." "Me too." Sunburst said. "Now, let's go to that adoption centre!" Jewel Box yelled, running out the door, Sunburst following close behind. And with that, Jewel Box and Sunburst, along with Jasper and Starlight, headed to Crystal Care Adoption Agency.
