A Turtle Kind of Christmas
Twas the day before Christmas and all through the city of New York, the people were hustling and bustling getting their last minute Christmas preparations done. Meanwhile deep below the streets and into the sewers what many were not aware of a family of mutant brothers were also busy getting ready for their own holiday fun.
In the turtles lair, the brothers were busy decorating their home with makeshift Christmas decorations. Each of them was wearing a Santa hat to further show their holiday spirit. And to top it off were singing a Christmas carol to make the job more fun.

As Donnie was hanging a few lights around, Leo was using his swords on some white pieces of paper cutting them into perfect paper snowflakes, Chompy was munching on a piece of popcorn that was stringed before Raph picked him up and nuzzled with him. Mikey then came in carrying a tray of cocoa in mugs, and Ice Cream Kitty holding a bowl of marshmallows. The turtles took a break from their caroling and work to enjoy a hot drink.
"So far so good, guys." Leo admitted, as he took a sip of cocoa.
"If ya ask me we should've sang that version of Deck the Halls I made up." Mikey replied.
"The lyrics you made for your version, Mikey, sounded totally ridiculous." Raph replied.
"You're just jealous of my sweet lyric skills." Mikey boasted.
"Hey, guys!" Came Casey's voice.
The turtles looked at the entrance of the lair seeing April, Karai, Casey, Shini, Adagio, Sonata, and Aria in winter garb, "Happy Holidays, guys." April greeted.
"And a Merry Christmas to you too, April." Donnie greeted.
Karai looked around the lair seeing all the decorations, "Love what you've done to the place."
"Very festive." Shini admitted.
"Thanks, but it could still use some work." Leo replied.
"Well, we're all itchin' to pitch in." Casey said.
"We'll make sure it looks perfect for our guests when they arrive." April promised.
"How about another group of hands to help?" Came Sunset Shimmer's voice.
The ninjas looked over and saw the Rainbooms, the Shadowbolts, Juniper Montage, and Fugitoid enter the lair. The girls were all dressed in their winter wear, including Spike, while Fugitoid wore a scarf around his neck. Leo gasped seeing Twilight, "Twilight, girls! You made it!"
"Like we'd miss this?" Twilight asked rhetorically.
Sunset spoke, as she showed them a page in her journal, "Princess Twilight, Starlight, and the others from Equestria give you guys their best wishes." Leo smiled, while also wishing Princess Twilight could be there.
"This place is really looking good." Lemon looked around.
"But it could still use some improvements." Sugarcoat added.
"We could use a few extra hands to help." Donnie admitted.
"We still gotta cook the dinner." Mikey said.
"Count me in," Applejack said, "Making Christmas dinner is almost as fun as cooking it."
"My thoughts exactly." Pinkie agreed.
"Mine too." April nodded.
"And we'll need you three in there so Mikey doesn't burn anything." Raph said.
"Hey!" Mikey scowled, as the group laughed.
So as the Shadowbolts and Rainbooms assisted with helping the decorations, Leo and Karai went into the dojo to look at a picture of Master Splinter. The two looked at it forlornly, until Twilight approached, "I can only imagine how hard this must be for you both and the others."
"It will be the first Christmas we ever spent without him." Leo admitted.
"I wish I could've spent a Christmas with him." Karai sighed sadly.
Leo laid a hand on her shoulder, "I wish that for you too, Karai. But remember we're all your family now. So you're not alone."
"Leo's right, Karai. We're all family here. And family will always be with you." Twilight told her.
Karai smiled, "Thanks, you guys."
"Wanna hear about one of my first Christmases with my family?" Leo asked, as Twilight and Karai were curious, "Well, one year my brothers and I constantly fought over who would get to hang the star atop of our little makeshift tree. Until Splinter decided to let all of us hang it together. It was a great time." he smiled.
The girls stood together with Leo as they gazed at the picture of their sensei, until Fluttershy came in, "Um, excuse me. Am I interrupting?"
"No, Fluttershy, what'd ya need?" Leo asked.
"Well, we're about to make Christmas cookies, care to help us?"
"Sure, Fluttershy." Twilight agreed.
"And we better otherwise Mikey'll just lick the bowl." Leo said.
"Or Pinkie." Twilight joked, and the three laughed before following Fluttershy.
Soon in the kitchen, the group was busy baking Christmas cookies while wearing Christmas aprons and hair nets. After popping them into the oven, they waited until they were all ready. After pulling the pans out, they marveled at their work.
"These turned out great!" Pinkie cheered.
"I'm just glad you didn't add your sprinkles to it otherwise it'd be a mess in here." Raph said.
"Hey Exploding Christmas cookies can be delicious." Pinkie argued.
"Try some of the ones I baked." Sonata held some out.
They tasted them, and Applejack spoke, "Delicious."
"Really? Thank you!"
"I'll admit, first time you didn't do something bad." Aria admitted.
Sonata hugged her tightly, "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me." Aria rolled her eyes while smiling.
"Hey, in there!" Everyone went to the living room to see the Mighty Mutanimals entering the lair with Slash carrying a tree, "Somebody order a tree?" Slash asked.
"Good work, Slash." Raph smiled, as he went to help him.
"Bring it on over here." Leo instructed, as he sat up a tree stand. Raph and Slash put the tree in making sure it was up right.
"You picked a winner with this tree, Slash." Raph admitted.
"Thanks, Raphael," Slash noticed the guests, "Greetings, girls. Happy Holidays."
"Happy holidays to you, Slash." Fluttershy hugged his arm making him blush.
"Leatherhead!" Mikey and Pinkie cheered, as they hugged their gator friend.
"Merry Christmas, Pinkie Pie and Michelangelo." the gator greeted.
"Yes, happy holidays to all of you." Rockwell greeted, as he removed his jacket.
"Mm, something smells good." Pete sniffed the air.
"Want a Christmas Cookie, Pete?" Fluttershy offered.
"Don't mind if I do," he took one and ate it, "Yum."
Casey noticed Mondo was carrying a snowboard on his back rather than his usual skateboard, "Were you snowboarding, Mondo?"
"You bet. This ain't the weather for skateboarding so I brought out my second favorite hobby. It's like skateboarding only without wheels." Mondo explained.
"Raphael." Mona Lisa said, as she embraced her favorite turtle.
"Mona, I'm glad to see you."
"Well, I am curious about this holiday called Christmas." Mona admitted.
"And I can't wait to show you all the good things about it." Raph said eagerly.
"First thing's first, we got a tree to trim," Leo said as he used his swords to cut the tree so that it was all even, "Perfect."
"Come on, everyone. Let's get decorating!" Pinkie cheered, as they all pitched in and continued decorating the tree.
Soon the tree was near completion, all that was left was the star, "So who gets to hang it?" Applejack asked.
"I do!" Mikey cheered.
"No way, you did it last year!" Raph argued.
"I did not!" Mikey argued back, as they were about to go at it.
"Enough!" Leo called, breaking them up, "This is no time to be bickering, you two."
"Leo's right, this is Christmas. A time for happiness and togetherness." Twilight agreed.
Leo then turned to Karai, and handed her the star, "Me?" she asked in confusion.
"Well, you've never really had a real Christmas, so why not start now?" he asked.
Karai looked around seeing everyone smiling at her in confirmation. The ninja girl smiled, as she reached up and put the star atop the tree. Mikey hit the lights and they watched the tree light up, "Beautiful." Karai gasped, and smiled.
"We better set the table, our guests will be here soon." Sunset suggested.
So they sat up a big table in the living room. Rarity was busy putting plates, silverware, and napkins perfectly in each spot, "There, perfect." Rarity said.
"And just in time." Sunny said, as they looked to the entrance as Kirby O'Neil, Jack Kurtzman, and Murakami entered, "Merry Christmas, all." Kirby greeted them.
"And happy holidays." Jack added.
"Thank you for inviting us." Murakami finished.
"Anytime, Murakami-san." Leo replied.
"This place looks amazing." Kirby looked around.
"It was a team effort, dad." April replied.
Suddenly a portal opened up, and Leo spoke, "Ah, that'll be our 'out of town' guests." he did air quotes.
Exiting from the portal was Bishop and the rest of the Utrom Council, followed by Sal Commander, Traximus, and Zeno, "Merry Christmas from the Utroms of Dimension X, and us." Bishop greeted.
"Oui, Joyeux Noël." Pawn greeted.
"Hope we're not too late." Rook said.
"Actually, you're just in time." Sunset answered.
"Quite right." Fugitoid agreed.
"It feels good to get out of the meeting room once in awhile." Queen said, as she looked around at the new scenery.
"Welcome, honorable council." Twilight greeted.
"Commander, good to see you." Mona greeted her superior officer.
"And you as well, Lieutenant," Sal greeted, before turning to the turtles, "Thank you all for this gracious invitation."
"No problem, Sal." Mikey greeted.
Zeno spoke, "It is nice to be here in a calm and no danger environment."
"After being imprisoned for so long, you need it." Rainbow said.
Traximus walked over to Sour Sweet, "Hello, Sour Sweet, it's good to see you again."
"Same to you, Traximus." Sour blushed a bit.
"Keeping that temper of yours in check?" he asked.
"Yes, I am." she sighed, before receiving a gentle pat on the head by the Triceraton warrior.
"Good work, soldier." Sour blushed, and smiled.
"Now that our guests are here this party can really begin!" Pinkie cheered.
"Oh, yeah!" Mikey cheered with her.
Soon enough, everyone from human to mutant was having holiday fun. Sonata, Mikey, and Pinkie were sucking on candy canes, Raph, Bishop, Slash, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash were playing poker, with each one doing their best to win. Leo and a couple of their guests were currently watching a Christmas special on the TV.
"Tell us what is this program called again?" Zeno inquired.
"It's called 'It's a Wonderful Life'." Twilight explained.
"And what about it makes a Life feel so Wonderful?" Sal Commander asked.
April answered, "It's about how much of a difference one man can make to an entire city."
"Reminds me a lot of us." Leo motioned to himself and his brothers and friends.
"Actually, all of us are like that in a way." Karai admitted.
"Yeah. Each of us makes a difference in our own way." Sugarcoat said, as she held a bowl which had Ice Cream Kitty sitting in it.
Applejack called out, "All right, everybody. Come and get it!" Everyone gathered around the table and took their seats with some of the bigger guys like Zeno and Traximus needing two seats to support them. Applejack, Pinkie, April, Sunset, Leo, and Raph each came in and sat some food on the table.
When Pigeon Pete caught sight of the turkey, he gasped, "I hope that wasn't somebody I knew."
"Just don't think about it." Juniper told him.
When the turkey and ham was carved each guest was given some, while Pete just stuck to the ham, refusing to eat bird. Fluttershy placed three plates onto a smaller table where Spike, Chompy, and Ice Cream Kitty were seated.
Leo tapped his glass with a spoon to get everyone's attention, "Attention, please. First off I want thank each and every one of you for coming to our party. It really means a lot to me and my brothers. I can honestly wish all of us could be here, but as you know we lost someone very important," the group looked in sorrow while remembering Splinter, "But just because Master Splinter is gone from this earth doesn't mean he's gone for good. He lives on in all of us. And as long as he keep him close to us and all the lessons he's taught us he'll never be gone. So let's all give thanks and remember Master Splinter. We love you father." he raised his glass along with everyone else.
"Cheers!" And so the group began enjoying their Christmas dinner. Fugitoid being a robot of course did not eat anything, but still sat at the table like he was part of their extended family. The Utrom council instead of putting the food to their android's mouths, put them down to the chest cavity's where their true Utrom forms ate the food.
After dinner, the group did dishes, followed by waiting in the living room to see a stage set up and appearing on stage were the Rainbooms dressed in cute girl elf costumes courtesy of Rarity. They began putting on a show by singing and dancing Christmas songs.

As they danced, their friends and allies were dancing along as the Christmas spirit fueled them. As Indigo Zap dance, she saw dancing over to her was Metalhead, who offered his hand to her, "All right, bud." she took his hand and danced with him. As Sour Sweet and Traximus danced closer they felt a tad sheepish, but decided to go with it. Donnie and Casey danced close to April while making sure not to crowd her, Raph danced close to Mona Lisa, while Mikey danced close to Shinigami.
When the Rainbooms finished, they came off the stage and were applauded by everyone. Leo went to Twilight, "Twilight, you and the girls were great up there."
"Thanks, Leo. I'm glad you all enjoyed it.
Spike looked up and smirked, "Hey, you two, see what's above you?"
The two looked up and saw mistletoe hanging above their heads. This got the guests exciting wondering how this was going to go. Needless to say both Leo and Twilight were nervous. The turtle thought to himself, 'Come on Leo! Go for it! What are you afraid of?'
Twilight who was sheepish too, wasn't as sheepish as Leo, and thought, 'Maybe I should make the first move.' she went forward and kissed Leo making him blush.
The turtle leader thought, 'Ok... that was worth the wait.'
"Merry Christmas, Leo."
"Merry Christmas, Twilight."
The group cheered, especially the mutants and Rainbooms, while Mona spoke to Raph, "What just happened there?"
"Little Christmas tradition, when two people are standing under mistletoe, they kiss." he explained.
"You mean like what we're doing now?" Mona inquired.
Raph looked up and saw some mistletoe hanging above them, "Was that always there?" he asked in confusion, but didn't have enough time to think because Mona decided to go with the tradition rules and kissed Raphael who wasn't complaining one bit.
Donnie and April looked up suddenly seeing some mistletoe hanging above them. Donnie began sweating nervously, while April spared him the trouble and kissed his cheek making him once again a very happy turtle. Mikey suddenly looked up seeing mistletoe hanging above him and Shini. He smiled happily as Shini kissed his cheek.
Fugitoid suddenly saw a piece hanging above him and Sunset Shimmer, "I say how is it this plant keeps popping up like this?" Fugitoid was cut off as Sunset kissed his head, "Oh!" he chuckled sheepishly.
When one was suddenly above Pinkie and Leatherhead, the energetic girl gave the gator mutant a kiss on the nose, leaving Leatherhead happy. Fluttershy saw one was above her and Slash and suddenly got nervous, but noticed Slash was just as nervous as she was. She suddenly smiled and kissed Slash making the big turtle blush. Casey saw one was above him and Applejack, and the country girl just pecked his cheek making him blush. Rarity seeing one was above her noticed Spike was right at her feet. She picked the pup up and pecked his little nose. When Sour Sweet saw it was above her and Traximus, she tried to ignore it, but gave in and pecked the Triceraton's cheek.
As it turned out, off tot he side was Rockwell using his psychic powers to levitate the mistletoe all around with Rainbow Dash grinning, "Mission accomplished, Doc."
"Not quite yet." Rockwell said, as he levitated mistletoe above them and kissed Rainbow's cheek.
"Ugh!" She groaned, "Doc, I got two words for you. Banana binaca."
Leo looked around the room seeing all the smiling faces, before he noticed in a corner was Master Splinter smiling at him and nodding. Leo smiled back at the sight of his master before noticing he wasn't there anymore.
"You ok, Leo?" Twilight asked.
"I'm fine, Twilight. Just happy." And with that everyone gathered together and began singing while hand in hand.

Though no one else in the city knew what went on that night in the sewers, one thing that the turtles and their allies knew was that they had the best Christmas ever because they were all together.
