The weather was almost always perfect, there was plenty of food, the Pokemon there were willing to help each other, and much more. Although the equestria region has many towns and cities, none of them can compare to it's capital, the city of canterlot. Canterlot is were the most noble of Pokemon live and is a popular spot for celebrities to visit. Canterlot wouldn't be the capital if it didn't have it's castle where Princess of the equestria region herself lives, and her name is Princess Celestia. Princess Celestia is a Gardevoir who was given the gift of immortality long ago by Arceus himself over a thousand years ago. She had the white body of a wild Gardevoir, but her "hair" was striped blue, green, and pink, her arms were also white, and her eyes were a pale, light grayish magenta. She was currently on the balcony outside her room, thinking about the upcoming Summer Sun Celebration. 'It's hard to believe this is going to the thousandth Summer Sun Celebration." She thought to herself, 'It would also be the thousandth year since "that" day. 'If only there was a way to bring you back.' Princess Celestia then decides to stare at the night sky for a while before noticing something unusual. She saw what appeared to be a shooting star but what was unusual about it was that it was blue. And that it was heading straight towards the castle! Princess Celestia was about to use psychic to try and stop it, but it moved too fast and wound up crashing in the castle's garden. Deciding to investigate, Princess Celestia teleported herself to the garden before seeing the crater was obscured by smoke. Several of the castle's gaurds (them being a mix of Arcanine, Pidgeot, and Kadabra), arrived and were about to jump inside when Princess Celestia stopped them. "I'm sensing someone inside." She said. As if to prove her point, a small figure appeared within the smoke and it began to make it's way towards the princess, much to the gaurds concern. The figure continued to make it's way towards the princess until smoke cleared, allowing the princess and the gaurds to see the intruder. What they saw was an unusual Pokemon that was about as tall as a pikachu that had a light blue body, peach colored arms and belly, black eyes, three fingered hands, quills on the back of it's head, what appeared to be small wings on it's ankles and white fur around it's wrists. And that it was badly hurt! "H-help, m-me." It muttered weakly before falling into the ground unconscious. Obviously concerned for the unconscious Pokemon, Princess Celestia rushed towards it before carefully picking and explaining to her gaurds that she was going to take it to the the medical wing of the castle before teleporting to said area. When she arrived, she alerted the Chansey nurses of the situation before lying the unconscious Pokemon into a medical bed that had been provided. Once the Pokemon was in the operating room, the Princess told one of the nurses to inform her once the Pokemon has fully recovered before teleporting off. About an hour later, Princess Celestia had gotten word that the Pokemon had fully recovered and was currently resting in one the guest rooms. Before checking up on him, she decided to head to the castle library to get her star pupil, Twilight Sparkle. Twilight is a light purple Kirlia with dark sapphire blue "hair" that had a pink stripe on the right side, and violet eyes. Once she arrived in the library, she saw said Kirlia seemingly organizing some of the books. "A little busy Twilight?" Princess Celestia asked. This caused Twilight to jump a bit before letting out a gasp and taking a bow. "Princess Celestia! What a pleasant surprise! And I was just finishing up!" Twilight exclaimed before asking, "What brings you here?" Seeing this caused Princess Celestia to let out a chuckle. "Now Twilight there is no need to be surprised at my presence, you are my star pupil after all." Princess Celestia said, "And as for why I am here, a mysterious Pokemon had crashed here in the castle and is currently recovering his strength, I was hoping that you help me observe him." Hearing the words "mysterious" and "observe" made Twilight's eyes light up. "It would be an honor to help you, princess." Twilight said adding, "You wouldn't mind if I bring Spike along, would you?" "I don't mind, plus he could learn some things as well." Princess Celestia responded. With that, Twilight then called out, "Spike! The princess needs our help! Do you think you can bring me my pokedex?!" "No problem Twilight!" A voice called back in response. Not too long after, a purple Dratini with green eyes, a green mouth and underbelly came out from the behind a bookshelf holding a red, square shaped device on the end of it's tail. "Here you go Twilight." The Dratini said as he handed her the pokedex. "Thanks Spike." Twilight said before turning towards Princess Celestia, "Lead the way princess!" Responding with a nod, the trio exit the library before heading to the guest room the Pokemon was resting in. A few minutes later, the trio arrive outside the guest room, before coming however, Princess Celestia closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. "He's about to wake up." She said, "It's best if we enter before that." "Just what kind of Pokemon is he princess?" Spike asked. "It's best if you see for yourself." Princess Celestia responded before opening the door, revealing the Pokemon sound asleep on the bed. Once Twilight saw him, she was immediately interested, but before she could say anything, just as the princess said, the Pokemon woke up. The Pokemon slowly sat up before opening his eyes. Once they were open, he saw her was somewhere unfamiliar, he then noticed the trio before suddenly jumped off the bed and bowed. "Princess Celestia! It's an honor to meet you!" He exclaimed before wincing a little. "Easy. You were badly hurt when you crashed inside the castle." Princess Celestia said as she helped him back onto the bed. Once the Pokemon was back on the bed, Princess Celestia said, "Now before you do anything else we should better introduce ourselves. As you already know I'm Princess Celestia, ruler of the equestria region." She then gestures towards Twilight and Spike. "And this is Twilight, my star pupil and her assist Spike." "Nice to meet you." Twilight and Spike said in unison. "Before we continue let me do this really quick." Twilight said as she lifted her pokedex and pointed it at the Pokemon. The pokedex then opened up, revealing a screen that had a question mark on it before it said ,"No data." "No data? But that could only mean..." Twilight said before her eyes widened and she came up to the Pokemon's face and exclaimed, "You're a new, undiscovered Pokemon!" Before Twilight could bombard the Pokemon with questions, Princess Celestia used psychic to get Twilight of the bed and set her next to Spike. "You'll have to excuse Twilight, she can a be a little to eager when it comes to learning and making discoveries." Princess Celestia apologized, "Now, let's take this slow. First, tell us you name, what Pokemon you are, what type you are, and what information about your species you can give us." Seeing this opportunity, Twilight opened her pokedex again and began tapping a few buttons until a voice said, "New entry made, enter data now". Taking that his cue, the Pokemon began to explain, "Okay, my name is Sonic, I'm what's called a Speedrift, I'm a flying type, and I'm capable of breaking the sound barrier whether I'm flying or I'm running." "Annd, that should do it!" Twilight announced as tapped the pokedex one last time. "Entry complete, the data for the Pokemon, Speedrift, has been added to and uploaded to all pokedex around the world." The pokedex announced. "Now you won't have to worry about anyone going into excited mode when they decide to check you out with their pokedex." Spike said. "As long as they don't act like Twilight did, I think I'll be fine." Sonic said. "Hey!" Twilight exclaimed, casing the others to let out a laugh. After they calmed down, Princess Celestia then said, "Now, can you explain the events that led you to crashing in the castle's garden?" "Well it was a few hours ago," Sonic began to explain, "I was sound asleep in a tree when I suddenly sensed a presence. When I opened my eyes. Before I can do anything, I was suddenly met with a shadow ball in my face, knocking me off the tree and onto the ground. When I tried to get up, I was caught in psychic before being helplessly flung around into trees, the ground, and some nearby boulders before finally being thrown to the ground. I tried to escape when I was caught in psychic again. When I looked at my attacker, all I saw were pure red eyes! The attacker then began to charge what seemed to be a hyper beam, only it was blue, before it stopped in what appeared to be pain, allowing me to break free from psychic. The attacker then seemed to have begun fading away from existence, so I used the opportunity to fly away. However, my attacker was able to fire it's attack at me, and I didn't realize until it hit me and sent me flying through the sky before I crashing into your castle. And, you know the rest." Once Sonic finished, the trio began to feel sorry for him, seeing how he was simply attacked out of nowhere without the chance to defend himself. "Gosh, attacking someone like that is straight up cruel." Spike said. "You said it Spike, I know wild Pokemon would do that, but they would never take it that far!" Twilight agreed. "Whoever or whatever it was, had some sort of intention, and it seemed to have involved you Sonic." Princess Celestia said before adding, "Which is why you're going to stay in the castle for the night." "That won't necessarily princess, I'm already well enough to be on my own again, plus I wouldn't want to intrude." Sonic protested. "That may be the case, but I wouldn't take any chances." Princess Celestia replied, "Also, it's perfectly fine, we don't have much planned for the next two days." Sonic was hesitant for a moment before finally saying, "I guess I don't have any other choice." "Splendid! I'll inform the staff about you staying until further notice." Princess Celestia said. "Come on Twilight, Spike, it's time we made our leave." "But can we learn more about him for a little longer?!" Twilight whined. "Now Twilight, you and I know we all need our rest now." Princess Celestia argued, "Also, you'll have plenty of time to learn more about him tomorrow. Twilight was hesitant for a moment before signing, "Yes princess." "Good." Princess Celestia said before turning towards Sonic, "Goodnight." "Yeah, goodnight!" Spike said. "Goodnight to you all as well." Sonic said. With that, Princess Celestia, Twilight, and Spike exit the room before closing the door behind them, leaving Sonic by himself. Seeing how he won't be going anywhere for the rest of the night, Sonic turns off the light before tucking himself in bed. "I guess that mystery attacker just forced me into some new adventure." Sonic said to him, "Well, I'll just leave it at that and worry about it in the morning." With that, Sonic turns in for the night, unaware of how right he actually is. > Observation Time > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, we find Sonic and the trio in the dining hall enjoying some breakfast which mainly consisted berries. While they were eating, Twilight kept sneaking glances at Sonic, only to turn away whenever he looked her direction. Seeing this, Spike decided to start a conversation. "So, even though you haven't been here to long, how are you enjoying the castle so far, Sonic?" He asked. "It's not bad actually." Sonic responded, "The beds are really soft, the interior looks magnificent, and the food is flat-out amazing!" "I'm glad you enjoy it." Princess Celestia said, "Any guest of canterlot castle is given the best treatment available." "Speaking of which, I should really thank you for taking me in last night." Sonic said, "If you didn't, then I would of been a goner by now." ""There is no need to thank me, any Pokemon that needs help deserves it." Princess Celestia insisted, "No matter how different they may be. "Sorry for changing the subject, but we still don't know that much about yourself Sonic." Twilight pointed out, "Sure we may know what Pokemon you are and what type you are, but we don't know what attacks you have and what your ability is." "Now Twilight, there is no need to rush, we have all day to learn more about Sonic." Princess Celestia said. "I'm sorry princess, I'm just itching to learn more about him." Twilight apologized. "Actually, I don't mind." Sonic said, "I haven't had a battle in a while and I was originally going to find someone to battle today before last night's attack." "Then let's get going already!" Twilight announced as she got off her chair and began to run out of the dining hall. That was, until Princess Celestia caught her using psychic before placing her back on her seat. "Before we do that, I believe it's best if we finish out breakfast first." Princess Celestia said, "You can't do any research on a empty stomach, can you?" Hearing this caused Twilight to blush in embarrassment. "Oh, right." Twilight nervously said before she and the others finished their breakfast. A few minutes later, the group of four arrive in the castle's garden where they come across it's training area. "Excuse me for asking princess, but since I'm going to be demonstrating my attacks I just want to know, who am I going to be battling?" Sonic asked. After asking that, one of the Arcanine guards had stepped onto the battle field. "Before we had our breakfast, I asked a few guards to help with your demonstration and that Arcanine was the first to volunteer." Princess Celestia explained. "Are you sure this is okay?" Sonic asked, "I don't want to risk having one of your guards unavailable in case I accidentally make him badly hurt." "No need to worry about that, all guards were trained to take large amounts of damage and still be standing." Princess Celestia reassured, "And as you already know, the castle nurses are excellent in treating Pokemon no matter how badly hurt they are." "If you insist." Sonic said before stepping into the battle field. Once Sonic and the guard were in position, Twilight quickly opened her pokedex again and turned on record mode. "Care to take the first move, kid?" Guard asked the Sonic. "No thanks, you go ahead and go first." Sonic replied. "If you insist." The guard before charging at Sonic using quick attack. However, just as the guard was about to hit him, Sonic suddenly vanished. "What th- AH!" The guard exclaimed as Sonic hit his side with aerial ace. "You need to be quicker than that!" Sonic said. "Don't get your confidence up just yet." The guard warned before burrowing underground using dig. Instead of flying into the air like any flying type would in that situation, Sonic simply stood still before closing his eyes. In the sidelines, Spike was confused about Sonic's actions. "Why isn't he moving?" He asked, "He's going to be hit if he doesn't!" "I don't know Spike, but he seems to be concentrating." Twilight replied. Back on the battle field, Sonic continued to stay still before suddenly opening his eyes and flew straight into the air, just as the guard came out from under him. Taking advantage of the situation, Sonic used quick attack and struck the guard midair, causing said guard to crash into the ground. After that, Sonic then began to use rollout and charged at the guard. This didn't go unnoticed by the guard as he jumped out of the way. Unfortunately for the guard, that didn't stop Sonic from turning around and charging at him again while still using rollout. This process was repeated a couple of times before the guard saw that he had a clear shot and used flamethrower at Sonic. But when the flames reached Sonic however, he pierced right through it and was able to strike the guard in the face, causing said guard to be knocked back. Before the guard could recover from the attack, Sonic continued to strike him all over his body before finally knocking the guard into the air. With the guard in the air, Sonic stopped using rollout and flew towards him, tying to hit him with aerial ace. As Sonic got close however, what appeared to be razor-sharp teeth that were made of electricity formed in front of the guard's mouth, signaling that he was using thunder fang. Sonic saw this but was unable to to pullout in time hand was hit by the electronic type move, before being knocked towards the ground. Fortunately for him, he was able to land on his feet, although he skidded back a little due to the fall. Once he landed, the guard seemed pleased that he was able to land a super effective move on Sonic until he saw said Pokemon smirking. Before anything else could happen, everyone noticed that a green aura had formed around Sonic. The aura lingered for a moment before fading away, leaving everyone besides Sonic himself confused about what happened. Deciding that he didn't what to find out before it was too later, the guard used thunder fang again and charged at Sonic. As the guard was about to reach him, Sonic used aerial ace and uppercutted the guard, launching him into the air. Sonic then used quick attack and began hitting the guard with a barrage of strikes. Sonic then finished it off by appearing in front of the guard and used mach punch in his face, forcing the guard to crash into the ground, leaving a large dust cloud afterward. Sonic then landed in front of the dust cloud and waited. Once the dust cleared away, everyone saw that the guard didn't faint but was barely able to stand up. Believing that she's seen enough, Princess Celestia spoke up, "That's enough the two of you. This battle is over." After hearing that, the guard said, "It was a pleasure battling you, Sonic." "It was nice battling with you too." Sonic replied, "And sorry if I was a little too ruff on ya." "No need to fret, as the princess said, I've been trained to take large amounts of damage. A little rest and I'll be as good as new." The guard reassured before walking off. After waving goodbye to the guard, Sonic saw the Twilight, Spike, and Princess Celestia were walking up to him with amazed looks on their faces. "Wow Sonic, that was amazing!" Spike exclaimed, "I've never seen someone battle one of the castle guards with such ease!" "I'm impressed myself." Princess Celestia said, "For such a small Pokemon, you a have a great amount of strength." "Thanks." Sonic said as he rubbed the back of his head. As much as she wanted too, Twilight restrained herself from going up to Sonic's face and bombarding him with how amazing and unique his battle strategy was. After taking a deep breath, she then calmly asked, "Hey Sonic, if you don't mind me asking, what was that green aura that was around you after you were hit with thunder fang?" "Oh that. That was my ability, chaos drive." "Chaos drive?" Spike asked. "Chaos drive greatly increases all my stats whenever I'm hit with a super effective move." Sonic explained, "It's helped me take out strong opponents that I would normally have trouble dealing with. "A new Pokemon with a new ability! My life is just getting better and better!" Twilight exclaimed as she finished updating the data for Speedrift, "I can't wait to find out what other surprises you might have!" "Sorry Twilight, but it's time you started working on your studies again." Princess Celestia said. "Aww! Do I have to?!" Twilight whined. Princess Celestia only responded by raising her eyebrow. After hesitating for a moment, Twilight finally gave in. "Okay." She said in a glum tone. As Twilight and Spike were exiting the garden, Sonic spoke up. "Hey Twilight! How about I come with you and and Spike?" He asked. "What? Why?" Twilight asked. "I'm not sure what I can do exactly, but can try and help you guys out in any way I can." Sonic offered. "Are you sure? My studies can be challenging at times." Twilight warned. "I'm sure I can take it." Sonic answered, "And if I'm confused about something, I have you guys to help explain it to me." "If you say so." Twilight said before turning towards Princess Celestia, "I'll talk about my notes as soon as I'm done princess." "I'll be waiting." Princess Celestia said before teleporting away. "Well, lead the way." Sonic said to Twilight before they entered that castle. A few hours later, we find the trio in the castle library as Twilight is focused on a book while Spike is carefully showing Sonic his moves. Just as Spike was about to show Sonic his dragon breath attack, they heard Twilight call him out. "Spike! Can get me a quill, a piece of parchment, and some ink?" She called. "No problem Twilight!" Spike answered as he gathered said things and made his way towards Twilight. "Here you go Twilight." Spike said as he handed her the items. "Thanks Spike." Twilight said. Once she had them, Twilight began to write something down on the parchment before rolling it up and teleporting it away. "If you don't mind me asking, what did you write and where did it go." Sonic asked. "I sent it Princess Celestia." Twilight responded, "After doing some research, I found a prophecy that states the return of Nightmare Moon, so I decided to warn the princess about it and how we should be prepared for it." "Nightmare Moon?" Sonic asked. "Nightmare Moon is an old threat of the equestria region that Princess Celestia banished to the moon a thousand years ago," Twilight explained, "According to the prophecy, when Nightmare Moon returns she will bring an eternal night upon the entire equestria region." "Although that is really serious, are you sure that it's even true?" Sonic asked, "For all we know, it could be nothing more than a legend and it would waste the time of a lot of Pokemon if nothing happens in the end." "Relax, I'm sure she'll believe me due to my loyalty to her and how I'm always honest." Twilight assured. Not too long after, a piece of parchment appeared in a flash and landed in Sonic's hands. "Looks like she already responded." Spike said. "Since you already have it you don't mind reading it, do you Sonic?" Twilight asked. "Sure no problem." Sonic responded before opening the parchment and reading it's contents to himself, gaining a nervous look as he read. "Uh Twilight." Sonic nervously said, "I think don't think those precautions you wanted the princess to make are going to happen." "Why is that?" Twilight asked. "It's best if you read it yourself." Sonic said as he handed her the parchment. Once Twilight began to read the letter, she at first felt a great deal of pride when the letter mentioned her loyalty and how the princess would believe her. Unfortunately, things when south when the letter then said that she should go out more. The letter then explained there was more in a young Pokemon's life than studying, so the princess decided to have Twilight supervise the preparations for Summer Sun Celebration in the town of pokeville. The final things the letter mentioned was for Twilight to make some friends and what she would have Sonic come with her so that she could continue observing him. Aside the observing Sonic part, Twilight wasn't exactly happy once she finished reading the letter. Spike (who was reading the letter over Twilight's shoulder), spoke up, "Well, she does make a good point." "This cannot be happening." Twilight grumbled as she sat on a nearby stack of books. "Twilight, although I've only known the Princess since last night, I can tell she's doing this for your own good." Sonic said, trying to calm her down. "As much as want say something, I'm a little tired after a day of studying, so I'm going to bed." Twilight said as she made her way out of the library, "Goodnight." "Goodnight." Sonic and Spike said back. Once Twilight was out of the library, Sonic asked, "Is she always like this when something doesn't go according to plan?" "Sometimes." Spike responded, "But she does have good idea, it's best if we sleep now so that we have some energy for tomorrow." "If you say so." Sonic said as he and Spike begin to make their way out of the library. "Goodnight Spike." Sonic said once they were out of the library. "Goodnight Sonic." Spike responded before the two of them separate and head to their rooms. The next morning, Sonic, Twilight, and Spike were on their way to pokeville with Twilight and Spike on the back of one of the Pedgeot guards while Sonic followed. "I can't believe I'm doing this." Twilight grumbled. "Come on Twilight, it can't be that bad." Sonic said as he flew in a little closer. "And look on the bright side, the princess is having us stay in a library, also think of all the Pokemon you'll get to see." Spike added. "As much as I like to possibly see some interesting Pokemon, I need to convince the princess about Nightmare Moon's return." Twilight responded, "Which is why we're going to to through the list of what we need to check on as fast as we can, that way, we can get to the library and I can find more information on Nightmare Moon. "Come on Twilight, you need to learn to put the book down and have some fun for once!" Sonic exclaimed in a playful tone, "Plus the princess did say to make some friends while we're there." "The fate of the entire region isn't resting on me making friends." Twilight replied. "Let's just drop this conversation for now." Spike suggested, "Let's not worry about that until we get to pokeville." "Looks like it won't be long now." Sonic said as he pointed ahead of them. "We're here." He said as pokeville came into view. > A day in pokeville > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After reaching the town and thanking the guard for bringing them, Sonic, Twilight, and Spike glanced at the buildings surrounding them. "So this is pokeville, huh?" Sonic asked before adding, "Seems like a nice place." "I'll say, and with all the Pokemon we're possibly going to meet, it's a good thing Princess Celestia decided to give us our very own pokedex." Spike agreed. "You said it! Especially since it wasn't the only thing she gave us." Sonic agreed as he looked back at the events that took place before they left the castle. About an hour ago In canterlot castle, the trio were on their way to the throne room where Princess Celestia said she wanted to see them. "What do you suppose we're seeing the princess for?" Spike asked. "I'd say to get that list of what we should check on for the Summer Sun Celebration, but she probably would of teleported it to us if it was." Sonic said. "I guess it wouldn't take too long for us to find out now." Twilight said as she opened the doors that led to the throne room. As they came in, they saw Princess Celestia was standing in front of her throne while holding a small case in her hands. "You wanted to see us princess?" Twilight asked. "Why yes, I did." Princess Celestia replied, "As you three already know, you will be leaving the castle to check on the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in pokeville." "Well I obviously will be giving you the list of what should be checked on." Princess Celestia said as she handed said list to Spike using psychic. "But the main reason I called you three was so I can give you these." Princess Celestia said as she opened the case, revealing three differently colored pokedexes (one being blue, the second one being green, and the third one being purple), and three small devices. "Whoa! Our very own pokedexes!" Spike exclaimed. "That's right Spike." Princess Celestia said, "As you already know, the pokedex is capable of providing any information on just about every Pokemon known so far. Considering all the Pokemon you three may meet, it would be wise to have a way to learn about them." "If you don't mind me asking Princess, but why are there three?" Twilight asked, "I already have a pokedex of my own." "The one you currently have was provided to you for being my star pupil." Princess Celestia explained, "But this one will be your own personal one that you could do what you please with. And don't worry, I already transferred all the data from your old one into this one." After Twilight gave an understanding nod, Princess Celestia then used psychic to hand one pokedex for each one of them (The blue one for Sonic, the green one for Spike, and the purple one for Twilight). "Thank you for the pokedex, princess." Sonic thanked before getting an idea, "Hey Spike, can you stay still for a second?" "No problem, but why?" Spike asked. As a response, Sonic faced his pokedex in Spike's direction before the screen opened up and showed the pictures of a wild Dratini. "Dratini, the dragon Pokemon." The pokedex announced, "Dratini continually molts and sloughs off its old skin. It does so because the life energy within its body steadily builds to reach uncontrollable levels." "Cool!" Sonic exclaimed before noticing the the three small devices that were still in the case. "Hey princess if you don't mind me asking, what are those things that are still in the case?" Sonic asked. "I'm glad you asked." Princess Celestia said, "These devices are know as pokemorthers." "Pokemorphers?" Sonic asked. "Instead of explaining how it works, I'll show you." Princess Celestia said as she placed the case onto the ground before revealing a pokemorpher that she had on her right wrist. Before Sonic could ask what she was doing, the pokemorpher on her wrist had let out a beep before Princess Celestia began to glow in a white light. The trio watched as Princess Celestia began to change in front of them until she appeared larger and serpent-like. When light died down, the trio saw that Princess Celestia had turned into a Milotic who's body was white, the end of her tail was blue and green, pink "hair", and her grayish magenta eyes. "Whoa! How did you do that!?" Sonic asked in shock. "The pokemorpher is a device that allows Pokemon to transform into other Pokemon." Princess Celestia explained as she changed back to her normal self, "It's creation was inspired by the Pokemon Ditto and was made possible by special stones call Morph Stones." "Morph Stones?" "Morph Stones are stones that contain the spirt of a Pokemon." Twilight explained, "When inserted in a pokemorpher, the user can transform into the Pokemon the Morph Stone contains. Also, a pokemorpher can hold a total of six Morph Stones that can be switched out whenever the user pleases." "That makes sense." Sonic said before asking, "Just where can you find these "Morph Stones", and how do you know what Pokemon they have in them?" "To answer your first question, Morph Stones can either be found in caves, or give by a wild Pokemon who is the same species as the one within it." Princess Celestia answered, "As for you second question, we use a special device called a "Morph Stone Identifier" to see what Pokemon a Morph Stone contains." "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't suppose pokemorphers are used for battles, do they?" Sonic asked. "You wouldn be correct Sonic." Princess Celestia responded, "Ever since pokemorphers were created, they've been used to both, extend the time a battle occurs, and to make a battle more interesting." "Well you definitely have me convinced on that last part." Sonic said. "Any other questions you may have?" Princess Celestia asked. "Just one more, how do we put these things on?" Sonic asked, full of enthusiasm. "You'll see." Princess Celestia replied before handing the three pokemorphers to the trio by using psychic. Once the trio came in contact with the pokemorphers, the devices began to glow white before they began to form around their wrists (or neck in Spike's case). Once the light died down, they revealed they had changed into bracelets (or necklace for Spike). "Cool!" Sonic said as he examined the device that was now on his wrist. "I always wondered what it was like to have a pokemorpher on." Spike said as he did the same. "Well I'm glad you like it." Princess Celestia said, "Now you three are ready to go to pokeville." "Thank you so much princess, I really appreciate it." Sonic said as he gave a quick bow. "No need to thank me, I simply wanted you three to be prepared is all." Princess Celestia insisted, "Speaking of which, you three should get going if you plan on checking everything in the checklist in time." "Right, we better get going." Twilight said before thinking to herself, 'As much as I rather do more research about Nightmare Moon's return than this.' "Safe travels the three of you, and I hope you all have a great time!" Princess Celestia said as the trio made their way out of the throne room. "It really was generous of her, to give us these." Sonic said. "Come on guys, the princess wants us to check on the preparations, so that's exactly what we're going to do." Twilight said before adding, "And the sooner we finish, the sooner we can get to the library and find some information about Nightmare Moon's return." "Don't forget Twilight, she also said you should try to make some friends while we're here as well." Sonic reminded her. "Lets just get going already!" Twilight exclaimed. "Okay, okay! Calm down!" Sonic quickly said. As the trio begin to make their way through pokeville, Sonic notices a Wigglytuff hopping by. This Wigglytuff's color was the same as a wild Wigglytuff's, only the areas that would white were a darker shade of pink and had cyan eyes. Knowing that Twilight try her best to avoid making friends, Sonic decided to help change that by trying to start a conversation with the Wigglytuff. As it hopped passed them (unaware of their presence), Sonic called out to it. "Hello!" Sonic said. After hearing Sonic's cry, the Wigglytuff turned towards the trio. Once it noticed them, it let out a gasp before running off, leaving the trio confused. "Was it something I said?" Sonic asked as he scratched the back of his head. "What I want to know is why did you try to call it over." Twilight said as she faced Sonic. "I just figured it could help us by showing us around." Sonic lied, "Since we just got here, it wouldn't hurt to ask for some directions." Twilight gave him a suspicious look before looking towards Spike. "So what's first on the list, Spike?" She asked. Spike then took out said list and read, "Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist. Number one, banquet preparations: Sweet Apple Acres." "Now where can that be?" Twilight asked. "Well, I doubt it would take a Metagross to guess that large orchard of apple trees could be the place." Sonic said as he pointed at said orchard. Without commenting, Twilight began to make her way towards the orchard before being quickly followed by Sonic and Spike. Not too long later, the trio are making their way through the orchard as they try to find any sign of the Pokemon who work here. Luckily for them, they here someone exclaim, "Yeehaw!" before hearing a loud thump. Looking in the direction the voice came from, the trio spotted a Combusken who was completely orange except for the three feathers on it's head which were blond, and it had green eyes, kicked a apple tree, causing said tree to drop all it's apples into some baskets below. Now that found a Pokemon that could help them, Twilight walked up to it and said, "Hi there, I'm Twilight Sparkle, and theses are Sonic, and Spike." The Combusken turned their direction, before saying with a smile, "Well howdy y'all, I'm Applejack, how can I help y'all?" Applejack then grabbed Twilight's hand and gave it a hard shake (so head, Twilight's body was being shaken by it). "We here a Sweet Apple Acers sure do like making new friends." "Fre-e-end?" Twilight asked, still being shaken by Applejack's greeting. "Now what can I do you for?" Applejack asked as she let Twilight's hand go. "We're here to check on how things are going for the Summer Sun Celebration." Sonic replied. "That's right." Twilight said after recovering from a the shaking, "We're here to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, are you in charge of the food?" "We sure are sugarcubes." Applejack responded before asking, "Care to sample some?" "Well as long as it doesn't take too long..." Twilight responded before being cut short when Applejack rang a triangle. "Soups on everyone!" Applejack yelled. Not too long later Applejack yelled, several Torchic, Combusken, and Blaziken were seen running towards them and when Twilight blinked, she found herself, Sonic, and Spike at a table. "Why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple family?" Applejack asked. "But I'm in kind of a hurry..." Twilight tried to say but was cut off again. "This here's Apple Fritter, Apple Bumpkin, Red Gala, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp..."AJ took a deep breath, "Big McIntosh, Apple Bloom and Granny Smith." "Wow quite the family you've got here Applejack and..." Sonic said before he was cut off by Twilight. "We can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way." Twilight said in a slightly nervous tone. "Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?" Apple Bloom (who was a yellow Torchic with bright orange eyes, the three feathers on her head were red, and she had a large, dark pink bow on) asked while making a cute face. "Sorry but we really have a lot to do..." Twilight said before she heard a lot of disappointed sighs, "Okay,fine." As they cheered Twi just sighed. "Well, we can mark off the list." Sonic said before receiving a groan from Twilight said Spike as a response. "Oooooooooh, how is it you don't have a stomachache, yet we do?" Twilight asked. "I guess since I can move really fast, I need a lot of food to give me energy." Sonic responded before noticing something in the distance. Seeing this, Spike asked, "What is it Sonic?" Sonic remained silent for a moment before suddenly exclaiming, "Look out!" and lunging at Twilight and Spike, knocking them over in the process. Just after he did that, something flaming passed right where they were standing before pulling up and stopping right above them. "Whoops! Sorry!" Exclaimed the figure, "When I saw you guys, I couldn't stop myself in time!" When the trio looked up to see who nearly hit them, they saw a cyan Fletchinder with rainbow colored wings and tail-feathers, and magenta colored eyes. "I guess I can forgive you, but why we're you using flame charge in the middle of street?" Twilight asked as she, Sonic, and Spike got back up. "Oh, well I was practicing for the wonderbolts." The Fletchinder responded, "I heard they were going to preform tomorrow at the celebration, so I'm going to show them my stuff." "Who are the wonderbolts?" Sonic asked. "Only the best filers in the equestria region!" The Fletchinder exclaimed before getting a good look at Sonic. "Whoa! I've never seen a Pokemon like you before." The Fletchinder said before taking out a cyan colored pokedex and pointed it in Sonic's direction. Once the pokedex opened up, it announced, "Speedrift, the running Pokemon. Speedrift is a newly discovered Pokemon that is now known for it's speed. It is capable of both running and flying faster than the speed of sound." "'Capable of both running and flying faster than the speed of sound' huh? I'll believe that when I see it." The Fletchinder said before getting an idea, "Hey! How about you and me, one-on-one? Winner is considered the fastest!" "Huh? Why the sudden challenge about speed?" Sonic asked. "I'm aiming to be the fastest Pokemon there is, and beating you would give me some major points!" The Fletchinder responded. Sonic thought about it for a moment before responding, "As good as a battle sounds right now, I'm a little busy helping my friends checking the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. But tell you what- uh..." "Rainbow Dash." The Fletchinder now known as Rainbow Dash said. "Tell you what Rainbow Dash. How about tomorrow after the celebration?" Sonic asked, "I'm pretty sure I'll be free by then." "Deal!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed before flying off. After watching Rainbow Dash fly off, Sonic turned towards Twilight and said, "Well, I just gave you another chance to observe my skills." Twilight only responded by rolling her eyes. Not too long later, the trio arrive outside the building the festival would be held in. "What's next on the list Spike?" Twilight asked as they entered. "Next up is the decora...tions...." He trailed off as he saw the interior, "Whoa!" Sonic whistled, "Whoever did this sure does have a nice taste in design." "I'll say." agreed Twilight. Looking around they noticed a Sylveon (who was colored as a wild Sylveon, only the parts that would be pink were purple, and she had dark blue eyes) setting some decorations up. "That must be the Pokemon in charge." Sonic said. They then made their way to her when Twilight spoke up. "Good afternoon we..." "Just a moment, please." The Sylveon chirped, cutting Twilight off, "I'm the zone, as it were!" She continued rifling through the ribbons, "No...no..no...oh, heaven's no! Ah!" She smiled, using her ribbons to tie the selected ribbon to a pole, "Sparkle always does the trick! Rarity, you've done it again!" Satisfied with her worked, she turned she attention towards them, "Now, how can help you?" "We came to check up on things for the Summer Sun Celebration, and right now we're checking in the decorations." Sonic responded. "Oh of course, I'll be more than happy to-" Rarity began before stopping when she saw Sonic. "Is something wrong?" Sonic asked. Rarity responded by letting out a squeal, followed by her running up to Sonic and exclaiming, "You are one of the most adorable Pokemon I've ever seen!" "Uh, thanks?" Sonic responded as he took a step back. "I just have to make some outfits for such a cute Pokemon as yourself." Rarity said as she stepped towards Sonic. "I appreciate at offer, but I'm not the really the type of Pokemon who likes to put clothes on." Sonic replied. "Nonsense, trying out a few outfits wouldn't hurt anyone." Rarity said before wrapping one of her ribbons around Sonic's right wrist. "Seriously, I'm go- WHOA!" Sonic said before he was suddenly dragged off by Rarity. Knowing this would waste of her time if she didn't get Sonic back, Twilight gives chase before being quickly followed by Spike. About an hour later, we find the trio in Rarity's shop (called the Carousel Boutique) were said Pokemon had both made, and forced Sonic to wear some outfits. The first outfit her wore was a simple neckerchief and some sports tape around his hands, wrists, feet, and ankles. The second outfit was a red cape attached to a fake golden left shoulder plate, and a fake golden crown. After that he wore a pink cap, a pink shirt with a blue arrow on it with a yellow M in the middle, and blue shorts with the same yellow M on the left leg. Right now, Sonic was wearing a black tuxedo (except he refused to the wear pants that comes with it), while Rarity had just finished adjusting a black tie around his neck. Throughout the time, Twilight and Spike couldn't do much to tell the Sylveon that they really needed to go back to checking on the preparations (much to Twilight's annoyance). "Now darling, you were saying?" Rarity asked Sonic as she helped him out of his tuxedo. "Well, what I was trying to tell you before you dragged me in here is that Princess Celestia had sent the three of us to check on the decorations." "She sent the three of you!?" Rarity exclaimed as she tugged of the tuxedo as Sonic was getting his arms out, causing him to fall to the floor. "Yeah, and Twilight's her personal student." Spike added, as he pointed to said Kirlia. "Oh! You are SO lucky!" She gushed, "To spend so much time around the Princess! The glamor, the sophistication! Living in Canterlot has always been my greatest dream. I can't wait to hear all about it. The four of us are going to be the best of friends!" "Actually, I'm not from-" Sonic tried to say before being cut off by Rarity. "Oh! That give me an idea for your next outfit!" Rarity exclaimed before running to the back. As soon as she was gone, Twilight grabbed Sonic and Spike and started pushing them to the door, "Quick! Let's get out of here before she decides to put on another fashion show!" Later, the trio were seen wondering around town, as Spike was looking through the list to see what they had left. "According to the list, the last thing we need to check is the music." Spike announced. "We'll considering that how we haven't heard any type of music since we got here, that might be easier said than done." Twilight said. Almost immediately after she said that, the trio heard what sounded like a group of Pokemon singing. Following where the music was coming from, the trio soon find a Togekiss (who was yellow with the three "feathers" on it's head and the it's "tail feathers" being pink, and it had cyan eyes) who was conducting a group of wild Pokemon that were using sing (said group being made of a Jigglypuff, Chatot, Kricketune, Altaria, and Delcatty). "Oh, my. Um, stop please, everyone, umm." The Togekiss said, and after the Pokemon stop, the turned to the Chatot and said, "Excuse me, sir? I mean, no offense, but your rhythm is just a teeny-tiny bit off. Now, follow me, please. A-one, a-two, a-one two three-" "Um, excuse me?"Twilight interrupted. Twilight's sudden interruption startled the Togekiss, causing the wild Pokemon to run away. "Oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare away your your friends!" Twilight apologized, "I'm just here to check on the music, and it sounded beautiful!" The Togekiss just stood there in silence. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, What's your name?" Twilight asked. The Togekiss simply gave her a sidelong look, her wing hiding most of her face. "What's your name?" Twilight asked again. "I..I'm..." The Togekiss said but the rest of what she said too quiet for Twilight to hear. "I'm sorry, what was that?" Twilight asked. Again, the Togekiss' voice was too soft to understand. "Didn't quite catch that." Twilight said. This time, only a whimper escaped the Togekiss' lips. After a moment of this, Twilight notices that the wild Pokemon came back. "Well, um, it looks like your friends are back, so I guess everything's in order. Keep up the good work!" Twilight said awkwardly. The Togekiss gave a small nod in response. "Oookay. Well guys, we better get going." Twilight said to Sonic and Spike while thinking to herself, 'That was easy.' When the Togekiss turned towards the duo, she let out a gasp and said, "What cute Pokemon you have!" "I've heard that Dratini tend to keep out of sight from others." The Togekiss said before turning towards Sonic, "I've never seen a Pokemon like you before, but you are absolutely adorable!" "Uh, thanks?" Sonic said before thinking to himself, 'You wouldn't be the only one to think so.' "Oh! You're not a wild Pokemon? Well, I'm not sure what I could say." The Togekiss said. Taking that as her cue, Twilight began to push Sonic while saying, "Well in that case, we better get going." "Wait! What's your name?" The Togekiss asked Sonic as she began to follow them. "My name is Sonic." Sonic responded. "Hi Sonic, what Pokemon are you, and does your kind talk about?" The Togekiss asked. "Well, I'm what's called a Speedrift, and I don't know what my kind talks about since I've never met another Speedrift before." Sonic replied. "Oh, well, my name is Fluttershy and can you tell me about your life instead?" The Togekiss now known as Fluttershy asked. "Sure what do you want to know about?" Sonic asked. "Absolutely everything!" Fluttershy responded, causing Twilight to let out a groan. "Where to begin?" Sonic asked himself before saying, "From what I remember after I hatched..." About an hour later they finally made it to the library, "...and that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today, do you wanna hear about today?" Sonic asked. "Oh yes please!" Fluttershy replied. Twilight interrupted by suddenly saying, "I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast? This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and Spike needs his sleep." "No, I don't..." Spike began being suddenly bumped by Twilight. "Aww, look at that, he's so sweepy he can't even keep his widdle balance!" She said awkwardly smiling at Fluttershy. "Poor thing, you simply must get into bed..." Fluttershy said trying to carry Spike inside, but Twilight had pushed him and Sonic inside the library. "Yes, yes, we'll get right on that. Well, good night!" Twilight said before slamming the door. "Huh, rude much?"Spike asked as he and Sonic frowned at her. "Sorry, guys, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time!" Twilight explained, "I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends with me all the time. Now, where's the light?" As if on cue, the place suddenly lit up, temporarily dazing the trio. "SURPRISE" The trio jumped a little by the sudden yelling and what appeared to be every Pokemon in town popping out of nowhere. That's when the same Wigglytuff they say in the morning came up to them. "Surprise! Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh huh?" said the Wigglytuff who was l now known as Pinkie Pie. "Yeah we were!" Sonic exclaimed, "What's the occasion anyway?" "Yeah, aren't libraries supposed to be quiet?" Twilight asked in an annoyed tone. "Well, that's silly! What kind of welcome party would this be if it were quiet? I mean, duh, boring! Y'see, I saw you when you guys first got here, remember? You were all "hello" and I was all 'gasp', remember? Y'see I've never seen any of you before and if I've never seen you before that means you're new, 'cause I know everyone, and I mean everyone in pokeville! And if you're new, that means you haven't met anyone yet, and if you haven't met anyone yet, you must not have any friends, and if you don't have any friends then you must be lonely, and that made me so sad, then I had an idea, and that's why I went 'gasp'! So I must throw a great big ginormous super-duper spectacular welcome party and invite everyone in pokeville! See? And now you have lots and lots of friends!" While Pinkie was talking, Twilight spotted a pile of barries that were on a nearby table and decided to grab one. Using psychic, she picked up a random barry and took a bit out of it with looking at what type of barry it was. And, a moment later she got red faced at the spicy flavor. "Twilight? Are you alright?" Spike asked in a concerned tone. Twilight then open her mouth allowing a stream of fire to come out before she bolted off. "Aww, she's so happy she's crying!" Pinkie smiled. Sonic then checked the barry Twilight bit into, said barry was red, long, and appeared to have bumps on it. "A Spelon barry?" he asked. Pinkie then grabs another Spelon barry from the pile and casually eats it without any affect, causing Sonic and Spike to look at her in amazement. Noticing this Pinkie then asked, "What? It's good!" Not too long later, Sonic and Spike go upstairs and find Twilight in the bedroom, sprawled on the bed. "Hey Twilight, are you alright?" Sonic asked. " No! The ponies in this town are all CRAZY!" She snapped, "Do you know what time it is??" "It's the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration Twilight." Sonic responded, "Everyone's going to be up or they'll miss the princess rise the sun." "Yeah Twilight, you really should lighten up, Twilight. It's a party!" Spike said. Twilight let out a groan before saying, "Here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony but, silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it! "Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about everlasting night." I hope the Princess was right... I hope it really is just an old pony tale..." "It looks like we won't have to wait for too long." Spike said as he gestures towards a nearby clock, "It's almost time for the sun to rise!" Soon, the trio head back to town where just about every Pokemon in town was waiting. The excitement in the air was evident from the scattered chatter and murmuring, except for one Pokemon, though. Twilight tried to look calm on the outside, but on the inside, she was panicking over what might happen in the next few minutes. A certain hyperactive party Pokemon nearby didn't really ease her nerves, either. "Isn't this EXCITING!?" Pinkie asked in a rapid-fire voice, "Are you excited? 'Cause I'm excited! I've never been so excited! Well except for when I saw you walking into town and I was all 'GASP!', but I mean, seriously, who can top THAT!?" She stopped just in time for the introductory music to start up. "Ladies and Gentlemen!" The town mayor spoke up, grabbing their attention, "As Mayor of pokeville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" She waited for the cheering to die down before continuing, "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise and celebrate this, the longest day of the year!" After hearing that, everyone began to cheer again, well everyone except for Twilight who was keeping her attention on the moon. "And now it's my greatest pleasure to present to you the very Pokemon who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day: the good, the wise, the bringer of Harmony to all Equestria.... Princess Celestia!" On cue Rarity pulled the curtain rope to reavel... No one! A wave of concern rippled through the crowd. "Wait! Where's the Princess!?" Asked Spike with concern. "Maybe she's running a little late?" Sonic asked. "For something as big as this? I doubt it." Twilight said. "Ooh! How many guesses do we get!?" Pinkie asked eagerly, "Is she hiding?" "She's gone!" Rarity called out as she emerged from around the curtains, "There's no sign of her anywhere!" The crowd's concern turned to fright. "She's gooood." Pinkie said before screaming herself at the sight of an ominous purple cloud that began forming on the balcony. "Oh no!" Twilight said, watching what was happening on stage. The cloud began to part only to reveal a black Gardevoir who was wearing blue armor, her "hair" resembling the former cloud, and she had pure red eyes. Sonic was thinking about charging at the possible threat when he took notice of the mist it the came from, and it's eyes, causing his eyes to widen! 'It's her!' Sonic exclaimed in him mind. > Nightmare Moon Part 1: First Encounter > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saying he was on edge was an understatement. Seeing the very Pokemon who had attacked him out of nowhere before blasting him through the night sky made Sonic follow all her movements avoid getting sneak-attacked again. "Oh, my beloved subjects." The Gardevoir announced, "How long it's been since I last saw your precious, sun-loving faces!" "What'd you do with the Princess!?" Rainbow Dash demanded before charging at the Gardevoir while using flame charge. "Woah, Nelly!" Applejack exclaimed as she grabbed onto Rainbow Dash's tail feathers, tying to hold the Fletchinder back. The Gardevoir laughed before asking, "Oh? Am I not royal enough? Don't you fools know I am!?" Hopping into sight, Pinkie exclaimed, "Ooh, ooh, more guessing games! Um, Hokey Smokes! How about, Queen Meanie! No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty--" Before Pinkie could continue, Applejack stuffed a Oran berry in her mouth, quieting her. "Does my crown mean NOTHING after a thousand years of imprisonment!?" The Gardevoir asked angrily, "Does no one recall the legend? Didn't you see the signs!?" "We did!" Twilight spoke up as she and Spike came into view, "And we know who you are! You're the Pokemon on the moon, Nightmare Moon!" "Well well well, someone who remembers me. Nightmare Moon said, "Then you also know why I'm here." "You're here to... to..." Twilight tried to say, but was too scared to finish. Nightmare Moon let out a wicked chuckle, "Remember this day, little Pokemon, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!" Nightmare Moon was about to leave when a voice spoke up, "Not so fast!" Turning towards the voice, Nightmare Moon saw Sonic had stepped up from the crowd, causing her to smirk. "Well, well, well, it looks like I have a challenger." Nightmare Moon smugly. "You bet that I'm challenging you!" Sonic yelled angrily, "I want payback for you attacking me two nights ago!" Nightmare Moon appeared to have been in thought before letting out a laugh. "So it was you I blasted through the night sky?" Nightmare Moon laughed, "Well, I'll admit it's impressive that you survived. Despite you being a Pokemon I'm not familiar with, I'm definite I could easily defeat you again." "The reason why I was taken out so easily was because you attacked me while I was asleep!" Sonic growled, "I didn't even have time to react because you used psychic almost immediately after blasting me out of that tree with shadow ball!" "I will say that I would have taken my time but I only had a certain amount of time before I would be sent back to the moon so I decided to see how much damage I could do before being sent back." Nightmare Moon explained with a smirk. "Well now you have all the time you need seeing how you claimed you'll make an eternal night!" Sonic yelled as he went into a battle stance. "I agree, but right now I have other plans." Nightmare said, "Until then,enjoy the night." With that said, Nightmare Moon let's out a laugh before turning into a purple cloud and flew off into a nearby forest. "Hey! Get back here!" Sonic exclaimed as he tried to give chase, only to get caught in psychic. "Hold on Sonic!" Twilight exclaimed as she pulled said Pokemon towards the ground, "We need a plan first. She is a Gardevoir, who is a psychic/fairy type, and since you said you're a flying type, she has an adventure over you. We can't risk the fate of the region by simply charging in." Although he still wanted to chase down Nightmare Moon, Sonic calmed down before asking, "What's the plan?" "First we need to get back to the library." Twilight responded, "I'll explain from there." With that, Sonic, Twilight, and Spike make their way back to the library but where spotted by Rainbow Dash while doing so. "Where are they going?" Rainbow Dash asked herself before following them. At the library, Sonic, Twilight, and Spike were see at the library looking through all the books trying to find one that could help them. "Elements, elements, elements... Ugh! How can we stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?" Twilight said in frustration. "And just what are the Elements of Harmony?" Rainbow Dash asked Twilight as she flew in, "And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh? Are you a spy? Whoa!" Applejack pulled Dash back by her tail feathers, "Simmer down, Sally. She ain't no spy, but she sure knows what's going on. Don't you, Twilight?" Twilight looked as Pinkie, Rarity, and Fluttershy entered the library before responding, "I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Moon. Some mysterious objects called the harmony stones , otherwise knows as the Elements of Harmony, are the only things that can stop her, but I don't know what they are, where to find them; I don't even know what they do!" Almost immediately after Twilight said that, Pinkie dropped a book in front of her before stating, "The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide." "How did you find that?!" Twilight asked in shock. Pinkie said in a sing-song, "It was under 'E'!" Twilight the let out an annoyed groan before saying, "How did I not think about looking under 'E'!?" After reading through the book for a moment, Twilight believed she found what she was looking for. "There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are really known: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, and Loyalty." Twilight explained, "The sixth is a complete mystery. It's said the last known location of the five Elements was the ancient castle of The Royal Pony Sisters, located in what is now The Everfree Forest." "Well, we now know where we are going, now all there's left to do is get there, find those Elements of Harmony, and take out Nightmare Moon before she does the same with us." Sonic said. Nodding in agreement, the group make their way out of the library. Not too long later, the group arrive outside the forest before stopping at it's entrance. "Well, here we are." Spike spoke up. "The forest where we more than likely face Nightmare Moon in." Sonic said. "Well what are we waiting for?" Pinkie said as she began to walk towards the entrance. "Hold on Pinkie, I think me and Sonic can take it from here." Twilight spoke up. "What about me?" Spike asked. "Yeah there's no way we'll let you two go in there by yourselves." Rainbow Dash said. "With all the wild Pokemon there along with Nightmare Moon, it could be a little to much for the too of you to handle." Fluttershy said. "They have a point Twilight." Sonic said, "Although I'm sure we hold off on our own against some of the wild Pokemon we might run into, we're going to need all the help we can get if plan on stopping Nightmare Moon." Seeing how everyone wouldn't let the matter down, Twilight let out a sigh before saying, "Fine, but we should hurry." Nodding in understanding, the group enter the forest, ready for what might be waiting for them.
