Prologue: The Forgotten Lore

Long ago, before the peaceful rule of the royal sisters, and the splitting of the three equine tribes, there were only two races that dwell in the land: Ponies and Windigos.

The two races lived in peace and harmony for a very long time, they shared their lands and lived in happiness. There was not a single reason to fight. Both cherished their friendship.

Until one day, for an unknown reason, a war broke out...

Ponies and Windigos fought against each other, wrath and hatred filled the battlefield. The Lord of the Windigos advanced and vowed to freeze the land and rule an eternal winter. No one dared to stop him, because ,frankly, no one can. Not even the legendary Pillars of Light stood a chance against him.

As he was nearing his victory, a new type of pony emerged: Alicorns, as they was called, a symbol the unity of all three types of ponies and a new symbol of hope.

Two alicorns stepped up and fought the King of Blizzards, and they emerged victorious! The Lord of Windigos was then imprisoned in a solid block of ice and was thrown to the deepest darkest depths of the Frozen North, where no one will ever find him.

As soon as their leader was defeated, the windigos was scattered between the land and became nothing but an old mare's tale.

Many years have passed, and the windigos are forgotten, the ponies began to quarrel against each other and was divided into three equine tribes: Pegasi, Unicorns and Earth ponies. The three tribes argued against each other and the windigos used their hatred to cover the land with snow and frost, and tried possibly free their king. But they were ,once again, overwhelmed and defeated by the ponies using their Fire of Friendship fueled by love and hope. Most of them was destroyed but the others escaped and was truly forgotten.

However, deep down in the depths of the Frozen North, the Lord of the Windigos patiently waits for the day he would be freed from his icy prison and exact his cold revenge...

Chapter 1: The Comet

It was a silent night in the skirts of Ponyville.

Currently, the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle was sitting on a hill at the edge of the town with her friends by her side. Fluttershy was grooming her pet bunny, Angel. Rainbow Dash was slouching on a cloud staring at the starlit sky. Applejack is eating an apple from her farm, relaxing from a full day of hard work. Rarity, for once, was not trying to make a dress or a hat of some sort, she just stared at the thousands of stars shining above her, admiring their glimmering beauty. Pinkie Pie was taking out the cupcakes in her basket as a snack for their star-gazing, she wanted to throw a grand party but decided it's too late in the night. Spike was sitting in a corner, reading the new edition of his favorite comic, Power Ponies: Age of Hooftron.

Starlight, on the other hoof, was using a telescope to spot the constellations in the sky, studying the celestial bodies that she could observe. After what appears to be forever, Twilight decided to break the silence.

"Girls, thanks for coming out with me tonight. I really appreciate spending time with you. Being a princess is exhausting so it's good to have a break in a while." She said.

"Eh, no problem, sugarcube. The rest of us also needs some time ta relax after a full day of hard work." Applejack said as she took another bite at her apple.

"She's right, darling. We also have tiring days so it's a pleasure that you invited us here." Rarity stated.

"Yep. It's a great thing to relax." Rainbow stated as she sank further in her cloud.

"Rainbow, you slouch all the time! How is that tiring?!" The Princess of Friendship yelled.

"Well, since I joined the Wonderbolts, I've been doing a lot stuff lately. Spitfire always gives us some hard training. Apparently, being a wonderbolt is harder than it looks." The rainbow mare replied.

"Fair point." The lavender alicorn admitted.

"Well, my days also tiring, cause I have to re-shelve all the books in the castle library since Twilight's busy with her royal meetings!" Spike shouted.

"Nobody asked you, Spike." Rainbow Dash stated.

The drake just shrugged. "Just saying."

"Well what about you, Fluttershy? How was your day?" Twilight asked.

"Well, it’s okay. I just fed the animals and had a tea party with Discord. Nothing special." The shy pegasus stated.

"Having a tea party with the immortal Lord of Chaos is not special?" The lavender alicorn asked, Fluttershy just shrugged. "Speaking of Discord, are you sure he won't be bothering us tonight?"

"Oh absolutely. Discord said that he'll be visiting an old friend and he'll be gone for a while." The shy pegasus explained.

"Well, that's a relief." The princess stated.

"Um, Twilight, why did you call us here tonight? I mean we could just go star gazing some other night, but you seem excited earlier today. Is there anything special tonight?" Starlight asked.

Twilight looked at her former student and smiled. "Good thing you asked, Starlight. Because as a matter of fact, there is. As you can see, every two thousand years or so, a rare green comet visits Equestria and lights up the sky, and it symbolizes hope. This rare celestial body is founded by Starswirl the Bearded and was named 'Alpha Omega Comet'. I've been doing some research to know when it will show up again and Today is the day!" The lavender alicorn explained.

"Well, that explains everything. I wonder how long before the comet arrive." The former villainess wondered.

"Well, we wouldn't need to wait for long. Look!" Spike shouted as he pointed towards the heavens. The group turned around and saw the thing that made their eyes go wide.

A large green ball of fire descended from the sky with a few meteors accompanying it. It leaves a glowing green trail, and every star it passes shines brighter and changes hue. The meteors surrounding it exploded like fireworks on a new year's eve.

The group stared in awe with mouth agape as they watched the sky shine while the comet.

"It's amazing!" The shy pegasus commented.

"It's awesome!" The tomboyish mare shouted.

"It's wonderful!" The dragon exclaimed.

"It's glorious!" The fashionista remarked.

"It's something I've never thought I would see in my whole life!" The former villainess yelled.

"It's so colorful! It reminds me of a party!" The party pony shouted.

"It's the prettiest thing ah ever seen!" The farm pony stated.

Twilight giggled at her friends, although she, herself, couldn't keep her eyes away from the majestic ball of green light and it's colorful show in the sky. "Okay, I need admit. This is greater than I expected."

"It's so beautiful. But I'm kinda confused, why is it called 'Alpha Omega Comet'? I mean, aren't celestial bodies named after the one who founded them, then why isn't this one called 'Starswirl's Comet?'" Starlight asked her former mentor.

"Practically, I don't know myself." The princess responded.

"Oh look at the stars! They're so pretty!" Fluttershy shouted as she hugged Angel bunny in excitement. The bunny himself stared in awe at the sky.

"They're like a thousand of glimmering gems in the sky!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Do you think I can eat them?" Spike asked.

The fashionista giggled to herself when she heard that. "Oh, Spikey Wikey, they're not actual gems. It's just an expression!" She replied.

The young dragon flushed from embarrassment. "I know that! I was just joking!"

The girls laughed at the dragon's comment for a while, before they noticed that the comet was about to leave the borders of Ponyville.

"Well, it will be gone for another two thousand years, but it's worth to see it, even once." The lavender alicorn whispered to herself.

"Quick Twilight, make a wish!" Spike commanded.

"What do you mean, Spike?" Twilight asked her dragon assistant.

"Well, you can't let a magical fireball thing-y to pass without making a wish, right?" The dragon stated.

"Spike, that's absurd! The equestrian lore states that it's shooting stars you should make a wish not a comet! But it's not that I believe that either! A wish celestial body is pure nonsense and not scientifically possible! I've studied and conducted a scientific analysis and I have found no evidence that a comet or a shooting star can make wishes come true. No, not a single situation in history have I heard or read that a shooting star granted a wish or anything of somesort. So why would I wish at that comet?" Twilight rambled, confusing her friends at her statement.

Rainbow let out a huff of annoyance and stare disapprovingly at the princess. "Still an egghead as always." She muttered at herself.

"I heard that, Rainbow Dash!" The lavender alicorn yelled in irritation.

"Gee, relax Egghead. In a land full of magical ponies that can talk, use magic, grow plants in an instant and change weather plus full of bizarre creatures, I wouldn't be surprised if a wish-granting space rock is true!" The rainbow mare stated.

"Wow, that's a lot of deep words coming from you, Rainbow Dash. You're improving from reading and becoming just like me! You're also an Egghead now, Dash!" The Princess of Friendship remarked. The others snickered at her comment.

The wonderbolt grumbled at her statement, but still continued. "Ignoring that statement. Anyway, all you have to do is to wish, what do you have to lose?"

"My pride." Twilight answered. The rest of the group (sans Rainbow) had their jaw dropped as they heard what the alicorn just said.

"Whoa, has that comet scrambled your mind?! Twilight is being proud while Rainbow is being an egghead. The world has been flipped! It's outrageous! Outrageous I say!" Rarity shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Calm down, sugar cube. So they switched attitudes, that's not a big deal. Do you remember that last time, we also did that?" Applejack questioned while nudging the fashionista.

Rarity flushed as she remembered that embarrassing memory. "Of course, darling, how could I forget. I went a little bit crazy on Trenderhoof that time." She admitted.

"A 'little bit'? More like a lot!" The farmer stated as she chuckled slightly. The fashionista blushed further and hang her head down in silence.

They turned around to see the Princess of Friendship and the Wonderbolt Athlete still bickering at the moment, after a few minutes of convincing, the rainbow mare finally convinced the lavender alicorn to make a wish.

"Oh, Alright." Twilight said, she glanced towards the sky only to see the comet already headed to Canterlot with its tail the only visible part. The alicorn secretly smiled to herself.

"Aw, that's a shame." She said in mock disappointment as she faced her friends. "Guess I can't make a wish afterall. Nice try though."

"But Twilight, the stories say that when the fireball thing's tail in the sky, you can still make a wish! I learned that from the story books of the Cakes." Pinkie stated happily.

"Gee thanks, Pinkie." Twilight said sarcastically.

The party pony beamed up, after she said that, seemingly oblivious to the sarcasm on her tone. "You're welcome, Twilight!" The party pony shouted merrily.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." The Alicorn muttered to herself.

"Oh C'mon! Just make a wish already!" Rainbow Dash shouted.

"Urgh, Fine." Twilight then took a deep breath. "I wish to spend more time with you, girls." She turned around to see the group with dumbfolded looks on their faces. She giggled a bit before turning back at the sky. "I wish that we have more time to be with each other. Being friends with all of you is everything that I ever wanted, and nothing more. I'm only wishing for an additional time to be spent with my gals, with no distraction or responsibilities, a time to have fun! It might not be much but it's all I ever wanted." She said as she finished her wish.

Tears were in her eyes, as AppleJack approached Twilight. "That's a very good wish, Twilight." She stated.

"Don't fret, darling, we'll be with you no matter what." Rarity declared.

"Yeah don't worry, Twilight. Will be here with you no matter what! Tommorow we spend time together and we party!!!" Pinkie shouted.

"Great wish, Twilight. Though I thought you were gonna wish for another boring long book that you like to read." Spike stated.

"Why! Come here you, little dragon!" The alicorn princess yelled playfully as she hugged her number one assistant and noogied his head.

"I wouldn't need some dusty old book. I've got my friends and they're everything I could ever hope for." She then grabbed her companions and pulled them on a bear hug. "We have faced many challenges, from dangerous villains to an overbearing fandom. But we stayed together no matter what. No matter how many hardships we faced and tests we recieved, the magic of friendship still bind us together and together completed them to unlock new chapters in our life and to meet new friends. I came here as a lonely unicorn who wants nothing but to study and impress her mentor, but you showed me the ways of friendship and now I'm not just a princess but the 'Princess of Friendship.' Everyday, even though I'm a princess, you still treat me like I was that nervous lonely unicorn that first landed to this town. You showed me friendship. And I am grateful for that. Despite my elevated position, you still treat me as your bestfriend and as if nothing's been change. Thank you for being my friends." Twilight said as she began to tear up.

"Eh, no problem, sugarcube. Actually, we were quite grateful that ya came in our life too." Applejack stated.

"Huh, really?" The alicorn's eye's widen in confusion.

"Eeyup, if ya didn't come here, ah should've been buckin' trees and pickin' fruits by now. Not that ah don't like that but, ya brought more excitement in our life." The farm pony admitted.

"Hay, we been through a lot of action and fightin' evil things because of ya. And now ah've got to travel across Equestria just to solve a friendship problem! Ya really change ma life, sugarcube, and ah'm grateful for that." She stated. Just as the farm pony finished her statement, Rarity stepped in and continued.

"She's right, darling. You also changed my life. If you haven't came here in Ponyville, I would've never been able to meet Princess Celestia or create a boutique at Canterlot, and I'm still fawning over those snobby nobles by now. But because of you, I learned that fame and nobility aren't the most important thing, it's friendship." She admitted.

Then Rainbow Dash stepped next. "I hate to admit it, egghead, but you changed my life too. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have learned that I like reading or meet my idol, Daring Do. I also wouldn't have passed the Wonderbolt test, if you didn't help me. Even though it's hard for me to say it I will. I owe it all to you, Princess Egghead." The rainbow mare sheepishly confessed, before turning back to her rough behavior. "But don't think this will change anything! You're still an egghead!" She yelled, Twilight just giggled as a response.

"Ooh! Ooh! Me next! Me next!" Pinkie shouted exicitedly. "Twilight, you taught me that too much fun isn't fun at all. I also learned that the world can only have one Pinkie Pie, because two or more Pinkie Pies are too much. Oh and thank you again for disposing those clones. They're a real pain in the flank!" The party pony shouted. "Now it's your turn, Fluttershy!" She then hopped aside for the shy pegasus to step forward.

"Oh what do I have to say... First, of all thank you for trusting me and believing in me. I know that I'm just a weak and helpless pegasus that barely have any contribution..."

"Fluttershy, you know that's not true!" Twilight objected but was quickly interrupted when the shy pegasus placed her hoof on the alicorn's mouth to shush her.

"Princess Twilight Sparkle, I always wanted to tell you, I am glad that you were my teacher and I am proud to be your student and your friend." As soon as she finished, she glanced to see the crying faces of her friends, but most especially Twilight's.

The lavender alicorn walked closer to her former student and gave her a hug. "I am proud that you were my student too."

Spike then stepped next and faced Twilight. "Oh, and what about me, technically I'm the one whom you had given the greatest favor of all: you gave me my life. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been born in this world, if you didn't hatched me, I wouldn't be here by now. You taught me everything I know, you educated me with every book in the library. Even though you're a bit annoying sometimes, I know that you just wanted the best for me. I always wanted to be with you. That's why I became jealous when you adopted Owlowiscous, I fear that you would never need me anymore. I fear that I might lose the only family I ever have and be cast away like some worthless item. I love you, Twilight, I really do, you treated me like your own son and brother, and I am always grateful for that. You supported my decisions no matter how dangerous it was, when I seek independence to learn the dragon culture, you let me go and find out, but you were still there to keep me safe. You let me be the hero of the Crystal Empire even though you're the real hero since you found the Crystal Heart, but you let all the fame go to me anyway. You gave me confidence in the Equestria Games, and saved me when I doubted myself. You accepted Thorax as my friend, and trusted me when I told you that a changeling can change even though we had a bad past with them. I am grateful for everything you've done to me, Princess Twilight Sparkle, and forever will be. I love you, Mom-sis." The dragon said as he hugged the alicorn and cried.

Twilight gently hugged him back. "I love you too, Spike."

After hugging her number one assistant, Twilight turned around to faced her friends.

"I appreciate your gratitude, but I did nothing to deserve your praises. It's the magic of friendship; none of us is here by now. Our friendship is what bonds us together and helps us accomplish such marvelous achievements. It is what held us together for so long. Even though we faced many dangerous times in the past and a few daily arguments, our friendship kept us together. And now I know that nothing can tear us apart as long as our friendship remains. And we are unbreakable." She then proceeded to hug her companions endearingly.

"We've all got each other and that's what matters" She said as they all stared the beautifully lit sky wondering what tomorrow brings.

"I mean, what could go wrong?"

Meanwhile on Canterlot, Celestia was in the balcony of her castle, staring at the mystic comet as it passes by. Though it's a sight to behold, The sun princess stared at it with a troubled expression, eyeing it with sadness and guilt. She remained there thinking deeply and unmoving from her spot.

"Sister, are you alright?" A familiar voice came from behind her. She flinched and turned around to see her younger sister and co-ruler, Princess Luna, wearing a worried look on her face. A look of concern.

"Oh Luna!" The older alicorn spoke in surprise, before turning back to stare at the sky. "It's nothing really. You can go back to whatever your doing."

"Are you certain?" The younger alicorn asked, making sure if her older sister is really alright.

"Yes. I'm fine, Luna. Don't worry." Celestia stated, not once batting an eye away from the sky.

Luna looked towards what her sister is looking at. She frowned the moment she saw the green magical fireball descending down the heavens. She then realized what made her sister upset.

"Oh, I see. It's the anniversary, isn't it?" She questioned. Celestia frowned, knowing that she can't lie as her sister already knew what is the source of her lament.

"Yes." She admited. "The comet reminds me of our most glorious victory and my greatest failure."

"Our greatest failure." Luna interjected. "It is also my fault why that happened. If it wasn't because of my stubbornness, we could've achieved victory without further causalities." She looked away in guilt. "We could've save them."

"You're right, Luna. We did achieved victory, but we lost them. I feel like they are looking with disappointment on us by now." Celestia frowned, then tears started falling from her eyes. "If only we could go back in time and change history, they could've been saved!"

"You know that's not going to work, Tia. We're still going to lose them either way." Luna stated. "If it wasn't for HIM, we should've have been liberated from our duties centuries ago. He wanted us to suffer!"

"I know. But anger and vengeance isn't the right way. He's gone now, and he can't hurt us any longer." The older alicorn stated.

"True. But even after his defeat, he has caused us so much misery than any other villain in Equestria or in the whole world. Still, his constant torture has made us strong and powerful leaders in the land." Luna comented.

Celestia smiled. "Maybe you're right." She agreed.

There was a long awkward silence that consumed the time of the two royal sisters. Both are unsure and guilty of bringing past matters. After a long moment of silence, Luna spoke.

"Tia?"

"Hmm..."

"Do you miss them?"

"Oh, Lulu, I missed them so much. There isn't a single day that I won't look at the stars and wish that they could comeback. A wish ,I know, that will never be granted."

"Do you love them?"

"With all of my heart, Luna. With all of my heart."

The older alicorn then wraps her wing on her younger sister and hugs her as they continued to watch the night sky.

Meantime in the far borders of Equestria, the legendary Alpha-Omega Comet was just leaving the land of the ponies and was heading back into the cosmos, when suddenly, a strange powerful magical force diverted the comet's path, pulling it directly towards the icy mountains of the Frozen North. As the magical force pulled the comet towards the mountains, a powerful impact soon followed as the comet crash-landed on one of the mountains. Though the impact was strong enough to stop the comet from moving, the magical force draw the mystical fireball even more closer forcing it to penetrate the mountain in sheer force.

As the comet bore the mountain, the magical force became stronger and stronger while the comet itself became even hotter the closer it gets to its destination. Each passing second, the comet became stronger and more powerful but also becoming more unstable.

The moment the comet hit its destination, it exploded in a powerful blast of green light. Unleashing all of the energy stored in it and melting everything in its wake. It lashed out bolts of purple lighting against a solid block of ice that was strangely the closest thing to the magical fireball yet somehow the least affected.

The energy from purple lightning bolts then started thawing the indestructable ice block, causing a large part of its energy to be drained.

As the ice block was being thawed, a being as old as time itself began to awaken from its milenium old prison and is more than ready to share his hatred to the world.

As the comet lost all of its power and was degraded into three medium-large gemstones, which shattered upon their contact with floor.

The being looked towards the gemstones, the moment he saw their shattered state he grinned.

"MMMWA-HA-HA-HA-HA AHA-HA-HA-HA-HA...!"

Chapter 2: Daybreak

It was a bright and sunny day. The sun was shining brightly as there is no cloud or anything of any sort that can block of its light. The sun rays glimmered as they hit the morning dew left in the grass of a wide, green meadow. The grass swayed in the wind's motion and the dandelions danced gracefully in air. No sound could be heard but a few chirps of some nearby crickets in the grass. The meadow was peaceful.

In the middle of a green grass patch sat a pony, an Alicorn to be precise. But this was no ordinary alicorn nor a mere pony, for she is the great ruler of Equestria, the goddess of the sun and the princess of the day, her name is Celestia.

The princess sat in the middle of the meadow, enjoying the silentness of the place and admiring its plain but beautiful scenery. She smiled in content as she stayed longer in the place. A simple break from her royal duties and a time to keep peace at herself.

While the princess was at peace, something strange happened. The sky became dark and the sun no longer shone. Clouds began to clump each other forming a gloomy atmosphere. The grass began to wither and the flowers began to fade. The sound of crickets died down leaving nothing but a deafening silence. Then out of nowhere, a thick icy fog began clouding the place, causing it to become more eerie and dark.

The princess stood up in alarm and immediately lit up her horn as a sign of warning to any intruders and as a preparation for any attack spell. Soon, the place was completely covered in a thick icy fog, with the magic on the princess' horn is the only source of light. Just then, a sinister chuckle began to break the silence which soon became an evil laughter.

Celestia posed defensively and pointed her horn towards the nearest direction where the laughter came from. "I know that laugh. Show yourself! I'm not afraid of you!" She shouted.

The evil laughter ceased, as a being began to step out of the fog, its presence made the place even colder.

The being was identified as a windigo. An evil spirit that fed on the hatred of other beings. The windigo looked like a ghostly light-blue horse with different curves carved around its body. Though this one is far more different than other windigos for this one has a hind part in which normal windigos doesn't have. It also has a long sharp horn on top of its head and two wings folded in its side, in which makes it different from any other of its kind. However, the most notable part of this spirit is how large it were. The windigo stood high and it was thrice taller than Princess Celestia, the sun princess herself!

The spirit smiled as he looked at the sun princess who currently bore an expression of anger in her face. "It's been a while, Celestia." It said, with its voice echoing in power.

"YOU!" The princess shouted in a fit rage, immediately firing a powerful magical beam from her horn towards the spirit. However, her magical beam immediately evaporated before it could even reach its target. She tried to cast another beam of magic but nothing came out of her horn.

"Oh princess, have you learned nothing? Your magic is useless against me, therefore rendering you powerless at my mercy. You might want to be more careful next time." The creature said.

"What do you want, fiend?!" Celestia shouted in anger.

"Oh, I see. Even after all this time, you still have your hatred against me. I can sense your wrath miles away." The creature smirked. "It makes me wonder what's the cause of that?"

"It's none of your business, Beast!" The sun princess shouted with her voice filled with anger.

"Oh is it because I took THEM from you?" The creature stated as she started circling around the princess. Celestia looked away in sadness as tears began to fell from her eyes. "Do you remember their last words? Do you remember their final wish for you? C'mon Celestia, I know you know it." The creature then leaned close to her ear. "What did they say?"

"Run." Celestia answered in pure sadness.

"And what did you do?" The creature asked as it circled around her.

"I ran." The princess answered in guilt as more tears fell from her face.

"That's right. You ran, you took the coward's way around. Instead of fighting by their side, you left them at their most vulnearable moment. You're such a disgrace." The windigo stated. "Such a shame though, you didn't hear their final breath."

Hearing the last statement, Celestia was filled with anger and hatred, she immediately shot a thick powerful beam of magic from her horn that managed to surpass the spirit's anti-magic barrier, though the windigo just dodged her projectile. Then it smiled at her.

"Your anger and hatred against me is more powerful than I imagined. I surely have underestimated you." Then its expression became serious. "But know this, Celestia. You ponies will pay for what you did to my kind. Once I regained my strenght, you will all bow before me and Equestria will be bound to an eternal age of ice!"

"You will not prevail! We defeated you once, we can do it again!" The princess proclaimed.

"What makes you think you can, princess?" The creature taunted.

"I have hope and trust in my sister, my subordinates, my kingdom and my friends! Once we all stood together, we can overcome any obstacle you can throw at us! With all of us together, we all shall defeat you!" The princess shouted confidently.

"Ha! We'll see about that..." The windigo said. "So you have trust in little Lulu and your little friends. Pathetic. What makes you think they can handle something as powerful as me?"

"Because I've seen them do it before." The princess replied. "My kingdom has been set in peril many times in the past, but I've seen them overcome each one of them. The Elements of Harmony has kept Equestria in peace and we will keep it that way. We are the protectors of Equestria. And if Starswirl can-"

"DON'T YOU EVEN DARE MENTION THAT PONY'S NAME IN FRONT ME!" The windigo shouted as he burst in anger and his wings flared up.

The place began to grow colder as the windigo was filled anger. A blizzard started to brew as the creature unleased his wrath.

"That old fool thought that he could overpower me! BUT HE WAS WRONG! I despise that old unicorn, if he weren't dead for now, I'll be the one to kill him! He thought he and his pillars can stood up to me?! After all the crimes he did?! Ha! That! arrogant! little! Raaaaah!!!" The creature let out a loud roar as the large icy storm above him rages on. The storm was so powerful, Celestia was clinging for her dear life as it rages. The windigo then open his wings wide and flew above while the storm is raging, he then faced the princess.

"Know this Celestia, the Scourge of ponykind is coming and once that happen all of Equestria will be ruled by windigos once again! We will rise from our fallen state and avenge our fall! The days of ponykind are numbered! And your punishment is on its way!" It said as it created a large ball of energy above its head and aimed it at the helpless princess. "For now, Sweet Nightmares, Princess!" It said as it converted the energy ball into large magical blast aimed directly towards the princess. The sun princess shouted in pain as she ultimately met her demise.

"Noooooooooo!!!"

"Noooooooooo!!!" Celestia screamed as she catapulted out of her bed. She started hyperventilating after she awoke but she immediately tried to calm herself.

Luna and the royal guards immediately rushed into her chambers immediately after they heared the scream. When they threw out the door, they sighed in relief when they found no intruders, only a dazed and sweating princess sitting on her bed, still recovering from her nightmares. They immediately rushed to aid her.

"Your Majesty, what happened?" Asked one guard.

"Tia, are you alright?" Luna questioned.

Celestia placed a hoof on her shoulder, still quivering from the nightmare. After a few seconds, she held herself together and said.

"Assemble the others. He's back."

It was an early morning in Ponyville, and the town was just preparing for the day. Meanwhile on Twilight's castle, the lavender alicorn woke up from her sleep and was astounded by the smell of food coming from the kitchen. Twilight groaned as she wanted to stay in her bed for a little longer but the sweet scent of food allured her and her stomach grumbled. She let out a sigh as she stood from her bed and decided to make her way to the kitchen. On her way, she encountered Starlight who was also currently walking towards the kitchen. The lavender alicorn greeted her former student and castlemate before they both headed towards the kitchen.

As they reached the kitchen, they saw the purple baby dragon cooking their breakfast with his fire breath. The young drake stopped as he noticed the two mares in the room.

"Morning Starlight! Morning Mom-sis!" He greeted.

Twilight blushed as she heard what her assistant called her. "Uh, Spike, why did you call me that?"

"Oh, it's just my way of showing affection. Is there a problem with that?" The baby dragon asked.

"Well, it kinda sound weird to me." Starlight stated.

"Look, Spike, I appreciate the nickname but you can just call me Twilight." The friendship princess stated.

"Okay, Mom- Uh, I mean Twilight." The dragon rambled as he grinned awkwardly.

"Good. Now what's for breakfast?" The alicorn asked.

"As the usual, a pile of pancakes for you and another for Starlight. Added with a few delicious berries I found in the woods yesterday." Spike stated as he gave the two mares their respective breakfasts and sprinkled it with a few berries.

"As for me, super deluxe sapphire pancake for breakfast." He stated as he took his own pancakes with sapphires embedded in them. And then they started eating.

"These are delicious, Spike." Twilight praised her young assistant causing him to blush. "So what do we have to do today?"

"Well, according to our schedule: we should be cleaning the library, delivering some books in town and solving a few a friendship problem." Spike replied. "Yep, seems like a normal day to me."

"Well, looks like we've got a busy day ahead, we better get started!" Twilight said happily as she finished her breakfast and trotted towards the door. Starlight and Spike soon followed her.

However before they could even get past the door, a loud rumbling noise came from Spike's stomach. The young drake groaned in pain as his stomach continued growling.

"Ugh, I must've eaten too many pancakes!" He shouted. A few more rumbles came out of his tummy before the young drake belched a burst of green flame containing a scroll with the royal seal. The scroll bounced a little upon hitting the floor before ending up in front of Twilight.

"Huh? What's this?" She spoke in confusion as she levitated the scroll in front of her face, unrolled it and started reading. "It's from Princess Luna! She states that we are all being called in Canterlot at once!" She shouted. "She also said to bring the others." She then turned towards Starlight and Spike, who was still clutching his stomach in pain.

"Spike, Starlight assemble the others and meet me at the train station in ten minutes." She ordered. "We will go to Canterlot at once."

"No problem, Princess Twilight. We've got this!" Starlight said as she immediately ran out of the room and Spike soon followed her.

After a full ten minutes, Twilight was in the train station waiting for her friends to arrive. Unsurprisingly, the first one who arrived is Rainbow Dash, who crashed in the shed in the train station. Twilight immediately rushed to aid her possibly-injured friend.

"Gee, Rainbow Dash are you alright." She asked.

"Oh, Sup Twi, I'm fine. I was just doing some cool aerial tricks before I got here." The rainbow mare stated as she dusted herself.

"Really? Then why did you crash?" The lavender alicorn asked.

"It's not crashing! It's called 'Landing... in style!'" Rainbow stated.

Twilight rolled her eyes and giggled to herself. "Whatever you say, Rainbow Dash."

After a few seconds, Applejack soon arrived at the train station and greeted her friends.

"Howdy, ya'll! Sorry If ah'm a bit late, ah have to make sure Big Mac can handle the farm before ah left." She explained. "Say where is everypony?"

"Actually Applejack, we're the first ones here in the train station." Twilight said.

"Oh thank goodness fer that." The farm pony said.

A few seconds later, they heard a few groans and fancy babbles indicating that their fashionista friend has arrived.

"Oh why in Celestia's sweet name would you summon me this early, Twilight? I have a meeting with my newest client in the boutique this morning and I can't afford to be late!" Rarity complained.

"Gee, chillax Rares. Twilight has a reasonable explanation why she called us this early!" Rainbow said.

"Yes, but it has to be important. I won't be canceling my appointment for nothing." The fashionista stated.

"Rarity, this is a matter of utter importance. Princess Luna wants us in Canterlot as soon as possible!" Twilight explained.

"A meeting with the princesses? Oh darling, why didn't you say so? I knew that it's really important when the princesses summons the whole party." Rarity replied.

As if on cue, Pinkie Pie suddenly popped out behind Applejack's back with a rather large grin on her face. "Did someone say 'Party'?!" She shouted excitedly.

"Aaah! Pinkie! What the hay?!" The farm pony shouted clearly startled by her friend's sudden appearance.

The bubbly pink mare just ignored her friend's statement and just walked towards the fashionista. "Ooh, what kind of party are we planning? Birthdays? Anniversaries? Celebrations? What?! Tell me!" She yelled excitedly while vigorously shaking Rarity.

"Pinkie, stop! There are no parties! We are just visiting the princesses! That's all!" Twilight explained.

"Aww, no parties! So you mean I brought my party cannon for nothing!" She sadly stated as she pulled the said cannon, which is almost as big as her, from out of nowhere. The cannon's mouth was filled with numerous things such as balloons, confetti, etc.

Twilight looked at her friend, not really suprised to see her do the impossible because it's just normal for Pinkie. Nature has many unexplainable things and one of them is Pinkie Pie. The bubbly pink mare looked down sadly after realizing that they don't really have a party. The lavender alicorn felt bad for making her naturally happy friend sad, and a few seconds later, she was crying. Twilight decided to cheer her pink friend.

"Cheer up, Pinkie. Sure you can't use your party cannon now, but maybe after the meeting with the princess, you could throw a party at my castle." She said, she felt that she would regret her words later.

Her words made her friend brighten up and wipe her tears. "Thanks, Twi. You're the best!" The party pony said as she hugged the alicorn. "But I guess, I'll take a rest from throwing parties now on. Sometimes aren't just the best time to throw a party." She said. Twilight let out a mental sigh of relief as she heard those words. The thought of her filthy castle terrifies her.

"Wait a minute, where's Fluttershy?" Pinkie asked.

Then out of the blue, the timid pegasus mare flew shyly and landed in front of Twilight, followed by a large slithery snakelike creature with different animal parts, a draconequus, or more commonly known as Discord, the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony.

"Sorry, if I'm late girls. I didn't want to leave the animals unfed so I make sure they ate before I left. Especially Angel, he's a picky eater."

"Yeah, that rabbit is a pain in the neck. So I might've have taught him a little lesson about eating his food." The draconequus said as he chuckled at himself.

"Whoa, What did you do?" Rainbow asked intrigued.

"Let's just say he turned the carrot alive and it started chasing my bunny." Fluttershy explained.

Rainbow snickered. "From what you said, it was kinda funny."

"Funny? It was hillarious! You should've seen the look on his face when the tomatoes came to life too! It was priceless!"

"No it's not!" Fluttershy protested meekly though she was not heard by any of her friends.

"So what brings you here, Discord?" The rainbow mare asked. "I mean, don't you have something to do or something?" She asked, unaware that she just said 'something' twice.

"Oh Indeed I have! Princess Sunbutt summoned me immediately to her castle for an unknown reason so it has to be important." Discord stated before looking at Fluttershy. "But I wanna make sure, Fluttershy gets here complete and unanharmed. I mean I just want to keep her safe and sound. I still don't understand why she wants to ride a rusty old train rather than just zap there in a blink of light." Discord stated.

"Discord, I already told you I want to spend time with my friends in the train ride. I don't want to teleport there immediately. Also I need to prepare myself before meeting the princess." Fluttershy stated.

"You really sure you don't want to ride in the Discord Express?" The draconequus asked as he transformed into a train and blew his horns. "Choo! Choo!"

"As inviting is that offer, I'll pass." Fluttershy said.

Discord transformed back and shrugged. "Eh, Suit yourself." He said before snapping his fingers making a door appear out of nowhere. "Well, see you at the castle, Fluttershy. I'll bring the cucumber sandwiches. For now, Ta-ta!" He opened the door and entered before slamming it shut. The moment he disapeared the door also vanishes. Fluttershy just giggled at her friend's antics before turning to Twilight.

"So ,um, Twilight, shouldn't we get going by now?" She asked her alicorn friend.

"Well we should be but Spike and Starlight isn't here. Wonder where those two knuckleheads are?" The alicorn stated.

The moment he disappeared the door also vanishes.

Just as she just said that a familiar voice came from behind. "We're here!" Shouted the voice which clearly belonged to Spike.

The purple dragon and the former villaines strolled in towards the alicorn, holding a cone of ice cream and a box of popcorn respectively.

"Where have you two been?!" Twilight asked like an angry mother. The two stood in silence and glanced at each other nervously.

"Well?" The alicorn said, clearly waiting for an answer.

Starlight took a deep breath before speaking. "Well, after calling our friends. Spike and I decided to buy some food for the trip!" She stated.

"Seriously?!" The princess shouted hysterically. "The princesses called us immediately, the fate of Equestria might be in danger, and you still manage to waste time just to buy some snacks?! Are you kidding me?!"

"Gee relax, Twilight. Equestria is always in danger. We're used to it." Spike remarked.

"Gee thanks, Spike. That makes me feel so much better." The alicorn snarked. The dragon just shrug.

Starlight giggled at her former mentors antics. "Relax, Twilight. Here have some food." She said as she pulled out a whole bag of packed foods out of nowhere. Twilight stared at her dumbfolded.

"Where did that even come from?!" She shouted.

"Oh, it's called 'Hammerspace'. Pinkie taught it to me." Starlight stated before briefly glancing towards the pink mare who wore a bright smile on her face.

Twilight wanted to learn more about this 'hammerspace' but decided she can never understand anything Pinkie does, so the threw the thought away.

"Whatever." She said as she took a bag of chips and started eating. "I just thought you two went on a date or something." She stated with a smirk.

"Wha?" Both the dragon and the former villainess muttered in confusion and embarrassment. "How can you say that?! We're just friends!" The two shouted in unison.

Twilight burst in a fit of laughter. "Nah, I'm just messing with you two!" She said.

"I can't believe you just said that, Twilight! I mean she's like a sister to me!" Spike said.

"Same goes for me!" Starlight concured.

Twilight just smiled at the two just as the train whistle blew.

"All aboard for Canterlot!"

"Well, we better get going." She said, ignoring the looks she got from her castlemates. Her friends entered the train and it began to travel towards Canterlot.

The journey towards their destination was relatively short, mostly because of the short distance between Ponyville and Canterlot. Anyway, after the short train ride, the mane 7 (and Spike) trotted towards the Canterlot Castle, where a few royal guards were waiting for them. The guards bowed in respect once they saw the princess.

"We are informed of your arrival Princess Twilight Sparkle." One guard greeted. "The others are waiting for you. Follow me, Princess."

Twilight nodded as she and the others followed the guard without question. The guard led them to a very large door in the hall. The guard bowed in respect for Twilight before leaving.

They openned the door and entered the room to see a few people waiting for them.

There were Shining Armor, Princess Cadance and Discord sitting across the table. The moment the Prince and Princess of the Crystal Empire got their eyes on Twilight, they immediately rushed in to greeted her.

"Twily!" Shining shouted.

"B.B.B.F.F.!" Twilight shouted as they hugged each other. Then the lavender alicorn pulled away and faced Cadence. They smiled at each other.

"Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybug's awake.

Clap your hooves and do the little shake."

Both mares chanted in unison while doing their own special dance. Both giggled before hugging one another, only to be interrupted by Applejack.

"Sorry to interrupt your 'heartfelt' reunion, but does anyone know why Princess Celestia called us very early?" The farm pony asked, as the other mares seated near the table.

"Actually no. We have no idea why Celestia summoned us so early." Shining Armor stated.

"She just sent us a letter, calling us immediately because of an emergency." Cadence continued. "We have no time to ask why or do other things. That's why we left Flurry Heart with Sunburst in the Crystal Empire. I just wish she's alright."

"Oh, she'll be fine. Sunburst is a great foalsitter. He's really good with kids." Starlight said, complimenting her friend. She earned a few snickers from every mare in the room after she said that. She just looked at them in confusion. "What?"

"Oh nothing." They all said in unison, raising Starlight's suspicion even more.

"Okay. Anyway, does anyone can guess why Celestia called us here?" Applejack asked.

"Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me!" Pinkie shouted while raising her hoof.

"Yes, Pinkie?" Cadence said.

"Maybe she baked a super duper giant cake and she wants to share it with all of us!" The pink party pony speculated.

"Ah hate to break it to ya, Pinkie, but ah think that's not gonna happen." Applejack said.

Discord laughed so hard when he heard Pinkie's guess. "Wow, that's a good one, Pinkie. We all know that Sunbutt wanted to take all the cake she could have. She wouldn't share. I'm sure that won't happen! I'll even bet gallons of chocolate milk if you're right!" The draconequus remarked.

"Are you challenging me?" Pinkie asked.

"Yes, I'm challenging you! Dare to make Celestia share a cake and I'll give you chocolate milk! Two gallons of Chocolate Milk !" Discord taunted. "But I win, you'll give me all the cakes in your little bakery. For free!"

"Oh it is on!" The party pony shouted.

"Bring it, Pie!" The draconequus yelled.

"Deal!"

"Deal!"

They both glared at each other before being halted by Cadence. "Alright, you two that's enough!" She shouted. The two both calmed down after that. "How about another guess? What about you, Spike?" The pink alicorn asked.

"Oh you wanna hear my guess. I guess that a powerful villain is on the loose and the fate of Equestria is in danger. Again." Spike commented.

"I hope not." Twilight said. "I mean adventure is fun but we still need a little break since that 'changeling incident'."

"Are you kidding me, Twi? I would love to have to have another adventure and to kick some villain's butt again!" Rainbow shouted excitedly. Before Twilight can reply to her statement a sound of fanfare echoed around the room. All of them looked towards the door in confusion.

"Announcing the arrival of the Royal Sisters. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna!" A guard announced as the royal sisters entered the room. Then Celestia began to speak.

"I appreciate you all for coming. I apologize for summoning you so early, but I have great reasons for doing so. Because currently as we speak, the fate of Equestria is in great peril once again."

"Ha! Called it!" Spike shouted.

Ignoring the young dragon's remark, Celestia continued. "I have called you all here for I believe that an old foe of mine-" Luna looked at her in disappointment. "Oh sorry. Of ours has returned and escaped from his eternal prison."

"Wow, ya sure have a lot of old foes, Princess." Applejack stated.

Discord chuckled slightly and said. "Well, as you can see, Princess Sunbutt here always have trouble getting along with creatures other than ponies. If only you know how award she is-"

"Discord! This is no time for tomfoolery! We cannot afford to waste for your silly games! A great danger is out there and the fate of Equestria is at risk!" The Sun Princess yelled.

"When is it not?" The draconequus mumbled to himself. "Okay fine, Celestia. Proceed. What kind of great danger is threatening Equestria now?" He asked.

"Winter." Celestia said, anger, hatred and venom was evident in her voice.

"That's it?!" Discord shouted in disappointment as he flew and faced the white alicorn. "You called all us here just for a mere change of season?! How dare you Celes-"

"SIT DOWN, DISCORD!" The sun princess shouted, her voice was loud and thundering that it shook the entire room.

The other members in the room held each other in fear of the royal alicorn, even Discord is frightened by her sudden outburst.

Luna immediately approached and helped her sister to calm down. Discord flew back at his seat and stayed quietly after that.

Once the sun princess calmed down, she began to speak again. "I appologize for my sudden outburst, but I am a bit stressed lately. As an answer to your question, no, I did not called you here because of the season but rather, who it is named after."

Twilight gasped. She did not know that the season is named after a pony. She mentally smiled at the chance of gaining new knowledge. "Well, then who is Winter? And what did he do?" She asked, keeping the excitement at herself.

"I believe that the answer is something you wouldn't expect or like, Twilight Sparkle." Celestia answered, Twilight frowned. "No. Winter is not a pony famous for his deeds. In fact, Winter is not a pony at all. He is once the Lord of the Windigos, and the Harbringer of Hatred." She started.

"Thousands of Moons ago, long before my rule and even before the three tribes separated at each other. Ponies and other creatures live together in harmony. But then they waged war against our kind. They were led by Winter, so nopony stood a chance against them. We tried to battle him but we were no match, that's why we used three powerful artifacts with the help of Starswirl the Bearded, to use against him. At the moment we fought against him again, we ascended to alicornhood, and then we imprisoned him in a solid block of ice and left him in the deepest depths of the Frozen North. But even after his defeat, his torture against me and my sister did not end." She wiped a tear and continued. "Seeing that their leader is defeated, the windigos fled and was never seen. I never thought we would have to deal with them or with Winter ever again." Then dread began to fill her face.

"But last night, I had a dream or rather a full blown conversation with the Lord of Windigos himself. He threatened me of his return and that's why I summoned you all here! I need you to find a way to defeat him."

"No problem, Princess. We just need to find that jerk and then blast him with the Elements of Harmony!" Rainbow exclaimed as she laughed maniacally.

Celestia sighed. "I'm afraid it won't be that easy, Rainbow Dash. Winter is a very powerful enemy and the master of manipulation. I'm not sure if the Elements of Harmony will work on him or if we can even use them against him, at all!" She stated.

"Aw, that sucks!" The rainbow mare muttered in disappointment.

"Well, why don't we use the same artifacts you used to defeat him back then? Maybe those things can stop him again." Twilight hypothesized.

"We could use them to our advantage, too bad they're already gone." Luna said in disappointment.

"What? Why?" The lavander alicorn asked.

"Twilight, some artifacts can be only used once. Those powerful objects was destroyed the first time we defeated him." The dark blue alicorn explained.

"Tell us, Princess, how powerful is this, 'Winter'-guy anyway?" Rarity asked.

"Well, he is a very powerful villain, perhaps the most powerful one we faced thus far." Luna said. "His power exceeds beyond any of us can imagine, and if I have not seen your power in solving things, I would've have said that you have little to no chance of defeating him, but since I have hope and trust at each one of you, I know you could do it." She said with a smile. "Winter is nearly impossible to defeat in his full strenght, so our best chance of defeating him, is to find and vanquish him at his weakened state."

"Which is why we need to take action now." Celestia added. "Shining Armor, I need you to lead the royal guards to patrol in all Canterlot, order the guards to seek for any trace of windigos at the place. As their master has awakened, the windigos will try to take over Equestria once again, keep a watchful eye for any frost and snow that will enter this land." She ordered.

"Yes, Princess." Shining Armor replied.

"Good." The sun princess said. "Cadance, ready the Crystal Empire military forces. We'll need an extra source of cavalry if things go awry. Am I clear?"

"Yes, Auntie." The Princess of Love said without objection.

"And you Twilight Sparkle, gather more information about windigos and if lucky, Winter. If you found something, report it to me immediately."

"Of course, Princess." The lavander alicorn. The sun princess then turned to the Mane 5, Starlight and Spike.

"You seven, keep the innocent ponies safe at all times! Guard them safely!" She said.

"Ya can count on us, Princess!" Applejack exclaimed, the others nodded in agreement. Celestia let out a sigh of relief once she heard their responses.

"Uh, Princess Celestia, there is still one thing I want to know. I want to know why is Winter doing this? What is his motive? What is the cause of his attack?"

"Our enemy has one and only one motive: To annihilate the ponykind!" Celestia shouted, the others gasped.

"T-T- That's just pure evil!" Twilight shouted.

"Wow, I might be evil once but I never thought of doing that! This 'Winter' is the practically the worst guy I ever heard, he wants to kill all ponies? Only the most ruthless, most evil, most horrifying creature in Equestria will do such a thing!" Discord exclaimed. Starlight just quietly sulked into one corner after hearing that statement, hiding from embarrassment and humiliation.

"What?! He wants to make all ponies disappear?! But that's so lame and no fun at all! If we don't have ponies, it means no parties! And if have no parties, we have no cake! And if we have no cake, well I don't wanna know what will happen if that happens!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"That's horrible! Terible, I say!" Rarity yelled dramatically. "If he exterminate all ponies no one will buy my dresses! This can't be happening! This is the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!" Twilight just rolled her eyes at her friend's statement.

Celestia, on the other hoof, scowled onced she heard that statement. "ENOUGH!”

“How dare you fool around in the middle of a crisis! You must stay focus at the task at hand and not be distracted by your petty desires. I need competent soldiers ready for battle not some foalish group of little mares fooling around at the darkest times. I demand that all of you should be focused at your mission at hand and throw away your pathetic little wants until this crisis is over, and no, that's not a request, that's an order! As Princess of the Sun and High Authority of Equestria I command all of you to do what you must and do not stop until I say so. We will exterminate any source of frost, snow, or any other cold hazards from the sky and we will hunt down every single living windigo in existance and their evil master. Once we find them we will show no mercy at them and we will not stop until that wretched beast is dead and gone for good. Even if it means declaring war against their kind or any other kind that will stand in our way. I have a lot of expectation for you all and I assume that you will not fail me. Remember Mercy is for the weak, and Failure is not an option. Is. that. clear?!" The Royal Princess of the Sun asked firmly. They all nodded.

"Good. You are all dismissed." And with that the princess trotted away from the group and left.

After Celestia had left, the remaining ones in the room exchanged award glances at each other.

"Well, what in tartnation just happened?" Applejack asked in confusion.

"Is it just me or is the princess, a bit off?" Rainbow Dash stated.

"I know Celestia is grumpy and a kill joy sometimes, but today she seemed grumpier than usual." Discord said.

"And she never smiled today, not even once." Pinkie Pie added.

"In my whole life, I never heard Auntie raise her voice like that until now, that is." Cadence said.

"I just don't know what happened to Princess Celestia. She's usualy calm and understanding but now she seems... out-of-character." Twilight stated.

As they continued their discussion, Luna stepped in and approached them.

"I hereby apologize for my sister's strange antics. She's just a bit stress at her royal duties and the return of a villain much more powerful and perilous than Tirek. I hope you forgive her mistake and just give her time to cope. We had a bad history with Winter, so I can't really blame her for being outraged, still please forgive her. As for know let's just follow her orders to prevent some major trouble with her." The dark blue alicorn explained.

"Apology accepted." Says Twilight.

"Well we better get going now." Shining Armor stated. "We don't want to be involved with any trouble with her so we best obey her." They all nodded and went off to do their respective duties.

As they all left, Luna let out a sigh. "Oh Celestia, I only hope you know what you're doing."

*** Three days later…***

Currently, Equestria is at peace. Princess Celestia is currently at the Canterlot Library, reading a few books and gathering as much information she could get. Unfortunately, it's not enough.

"Ugh, is this it?! Are these all the books you have regarding the matter?! There have to be more!" Celestia demanded.

"I'm sorry, Princess. But that's all we have about Windigos and Magical Artifacts. Please don't be mad!" The librarian pleaded in a frightened.

The sun princess immediately burst out of anger after she heard that. She then quickly tossed the books angrilly with her magic, not caring at the frightened foals and ponies around. "These books are useless! Get them out of my sight!" She shouted as she stomped out of the library, leaving a group of frightened ponies and a crying librarian.

She flew towards her castle and headed towards the balcony, to observe any strange activities or phenomenons using her telescope.

As she was busy observing, a royal guard walked in and approached her.

"Princess, it's been three days since your command, but we found no sign of windigos anywhere and the royal guards are tired from searching for days. Are you even sure that this villain will show up?" He asked.

Celestia turned around and faced the guard with a bitter scowl in her face. "Admiral, are you questioning my order?" She asked firmly.

The admiral gulped. "No, Princess." He answered keeping himself as stoic as possible.

"Then stop slacking around and get to work! Tell those incompetent fools that no one will rest until that wretched monster is still out there! You hear me?!" The princess ordered.

The admiral backed away in fear before answering. "Yes, Princess. My apologies, your highness." He said with fear evident in his voice before immediately scurrying away.

Just as the guard left, Luna entered the room. "Sister, are you feeling alright?"

"I'm fine, Luna." Celestia muttered in between her teeth.

"Tia, I know when you lie. Tell me the truth, Talk to me." The moon princess pleaded. "Please."

Celestia let out a sigh. "Fine. I'm not feeling well. Ever since Winter's terrifying visit, I became paranoid. I just can't sleep knowing that horrible monster is still around."

"Tia, I know you are traumatized by what he did back then, but don't let fear and anger rule your life." The dark alicorn said.

"And do I need to do, huh?! Sit back and do nothing?! I had let that monster ruin my life before, I'm not gonna let him do it again." The white alicorn answered.

"Tia-" Before Luna could even speak, a flash of purple light appered behind them, out of the flash came the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle.

Celestia smiled upon seeing the lavender alicorn. "Ah, Twilight Sparkle, how nice of you to visit! Tell me have you learned anything about Winter or any way to defeat him?" She asked, expecting a probable result.

To her surprise, Twilight sighed. "I'm afraid not, Princess." The white alicorn immediately frowned as she heard that, nonetheless the lavander alicorn continued. "I've read all the books, and tried to gather as much information as I can for three whole days but I had absolutely no success. The information about windigos are limited, all that was written about them was that they just suck hatred from other ponies and that they make strong blizzards. And there's nothing, absolutely nothing written about Winter, that means either someone erased the data about him or that there is no record at all! I'm sorry to disappoint you, Princess, but this missions seems to end in a failure." Twilight reported. "But maybe if you tell me how you defeated him before, we could-"

"How dare you ask me about my past?!" Celestia yelled, making the lavender alicorn jump in surprise. "My past is none of your concern, Twilight Sparkle! Don't ever bring that again!" She said while looming threateningly. The friendship princess gulped and nodded.

"Tia, It's been hundreds of years, you have to let it go! If telling our past is the only way to defeat our sworn foe, then I'll tell it. " Luna said before facing Twilight, however, before she could even speak, the white alicorn roared.

"Luna, don't you dare! We promised each other in the light of the blood moon to never speak of that incident ever again!" Celestia shouted.

"But sister it's the only way!" Luna exclaimed.

"No! You will keep your mouth shut! No one will rest until I say so!"

"Celestia, this is getting out of hand! You are getting out of control! Please stop!"

"Never! I will not stop until that monster is dead!"

"Tia, Let. Them. Go!"

"What?! How can you say such a thing! Maybe you don't love them as much as I do!"

"I love them as much as I love you, but revenge isn't the answer. It won't bring them back! Please. Stop!"

"NO!!! I will not stop until that vile beast is still alive. AND NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP ME!!!" Celestia roared. Then all of a sudden, she was engulfed in a pillar of bright flames. Her mane was burned at the contact with the flames thus leaving her maneless. Then six small pillars of fire appeared around the large pillar and danced around it. The small pillars then attached themselves at a certain part of the princess: one at her head, one at her neck, one at each part her front legs, and one at each of her hind legs. The flame slowly formed a bit of armor in each part they're attached. Once the full armor is done, a huge ball of fire absorbed the pillar and created a powerful explosion. The two remaining alicorns held their dear life, trying their best not to be blown away by the explosion.

When the explosion ceased, a new mare stepped out of the smoke and wreckage. The mare is a tall white alicorn wearing an orange metal helmet, four bright orange horseshoes, an orange metal neckband that connected to an armor at her wings. Her eyes were pitch black with two blazing irises staring at the two alicorns, her teeth were as sharp as swords ready to be used in battle, and she wore an expression of unbridled rage in her face. She then let out a loud roar, and all of a sudden, her head and her rear end ignited with burning flames, replacing her burned mane and tail. The mare was burning hot and her face show that she's ready to cause havoc.

The two alicorns froze in fear and surprise as they saw what their co-ruler have become. This was no longer Celestia. There is only one pony fit for her description. The mare of flames.

Daybreaker.
