> All Around Love > by Leviathan Jaeger > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Every fire begins with a spark > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a quiet evening, the only sound in the house was the groaning of a certain rainbow haired girl. She sat in a recliner and messed with her phone. After checking her emails for the tenth time she looked at the time "Come on Fluttershy, we're going to be late." Said the rainbow haired girl, shifting uncomfortably in the chair. Fluttershy came out of her room and looked at the other girl. "I'm sorry Rainbow Dash, but Angel needed to be fed. I didn't want him to be hungry while we were gone." Rainbow Dash looked at her with a frustrated look. "You couldn't of done of it earlier?" She said as she got up to leave. "I guess I should've, sorry Rainbow." Fluttershy said as she looked at the ground ashamed. Rainbow sighed and walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright Flutters, just, next time try to remember to do it beforehand." She said as she looked at her with smile, which Fluttershy happily returned. They then walked out of the house and to Rainbow's car. When the Rainbooms and Dazzlings finally became friends they started a few new activities to get the whole group together, one of them being having a movie night every Friday night at the Dazzling's house. In the beginning everyone got there themselves, but in order to save gas they all came up the idea to car pull with each other. Rainbow Dash offered to car pull with Fluttershy, since she knew that Fluttershy didn't like to drive anyway. Besides, it gave her more time to be with her best friend. Rainbow and Fluttershy had been friends since they were in kindergarten, and they've only grown closer since, especially in the past year. Eventually they made it to the Dazzling's house. Once there Rainbow parked and got out with Flutters and preceded to the door. The Dazzling's had a comfortable house, not very fancy but also not simple. They knocked on the door, only for it to be answered a few minutes later by a perky blue haired girl. "Hi! I'm so happy you two could make it!" Said the happy blue girl. We're happy to see you to Sonata." Fluttershy said with a big smile. Sonata was leading them into the dining room when she heard a voice from the kitchen. "Sonata, who's here first." Soon a purple haired girl emerged from the other room. "Oh, its Rainbow Ego and her animal loving sidekick." She said with no enthusiasm. "Well hello to you to Aria, glad to see your in a happy mood." Came Rainbow's response, which made Fluttershy giggle. Aria rolled her eyes and went back in the kitchen. Sonata looked back at the two girls. "Don't worry about Ari, she's just grumpy she didn't get to pick the movie again." The three girls giggled at this before they heard Aria say, "I heard that Sonata, now get in here and help me make the drinks." Sonata left to join Aria in the kitchen. One of the things the Rainbooms didn't quite get about the Dazzlings is how Aria and Sonata managed to be good friends. Aria was usually grumpy while Sonata was usually joyful and full of life. They argued a lot, but despite this they were always together. Rainbow and Fluttershy heard a knock at the door. They went and opened it to find Applejack and Rarity on the other side. "Howdy Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, I'm surprised ya'll beat us here." Applejack said. "Yes, I'm rather shocked, but Rainbow probably speeds." Rarity said winking at Rainbow. "No I don't! I'm actual a safe driver." retorted Rainbow. "I'll believe that if I see it for myself." said Rarity as she and Applejack entered the house. They were another pair who car pulled. But unlike the former, Rarity and Applejack took turns driving each other. Despite being very opposite of many different issues, they got along very well. Applejack would sometimes try dresses for Rarity, when she needed it, but Rarity rarely helped Applejack with farm work. Even so, they were very close to each other. Sonata soon emerged to greet the new guests. "Hi! Welcome back!" She said with a perky smile. "Howdy Sonata, how you doin?" asked Applejack as she and Rarity returned her smile. "I'm doing great! Last night the three of us went to that taco restaurant down the street and it was glorious!" She said, jumping at the last part. "Maybe for you." Aria said as she stood in the entrance of the kitchen. "I see the cowgirl and drama queen made it." "Well one of those is right." Applejack said with a smile. Rainbow nudged Rarity with her elbow and whispered to her loudly. "Hint, it wasn't the cowgirl part." "Hmph, really Rainbow Dash." The others laughed at her response, except for Aria who only smiled, when another knock came at the door. Sonata went and opened it to find Sunset standing outside. "Hi Sunset! Welcome!" she said letting her in. "It's nice to see you to Sonata." Sunset said with a smile. Unlike the others Sunset didn't carpool with anyone, she decided to drive herself. The others smiled and waved at her when she joined the group. She looked around and saw the two sirens but not the third. "Where's Adagio?" Sunset said, turning to Sonata. "Right here Sunset." They turned to the sound of where the voice came from to see Adagio leaning against the wall behind. "I was upstairs fixing my hair." She said as she flipped some of it. "Celestia forbid you don't have perfect puffiness of hair." Aria said dryly, looking at her leader approach the group. "Your just jealous you can't have perfect hair Aria." she said, taking the spot next to Sunset, who she smiled at. Of all the sirens to be difficult in excepting friendship, Adagio was the most resilient when it came to it. But Sunset reached out to her and helped her understand it. Since then they formed a close friendship, which no one saw coming. "Well, its lookin like everyone is here, except for Pinkie." Applejack stated. "Oh she couldn't make it tonight, to much work at Sugarcube Corner." Sonata replied with haste. "Pinkie is missing a get together with all of us, I think the world is ending." Rainbow said as the group walked into the living room. They all entered and got their drinks from Aria and Sonata. Rarity looked around confused for a minute. "Darlings, what happened to your other love seat?" The other Rainbooms looked around and noticed it was gone too. Usually there was a four person couch, two love seats, and one recliner. Aria frowned and pointed to Sonata. "That idiot broke it." "I didn't mean to" Sonata said trying to defend herself. "Your the worst Sonata." "No, your the worst." "Your both the worst." Adagio said coming between them, hoping to start a argument. "We'll just have to improvise." Everyone started taking their normal spots. Applejack, Rarity, Sonata, and Aria took the couch; Fluttershy and Rainbow dash tool the love seat; and Adagio took the recliner. This left Sunset to figure out where to sit. "Oh Sunny, you can sit with me." Adagio said as she made room on the recliner. "Alright." Sunset said as she sat next to her. It was close seating, a little to close, but Sunset didn't mind. Adagio ran her finger across Sunset's chin while whispering in her ear, "Now we can cuddle and watch the movie. How about you sit on my lap and I can bring you as I wrap my arms around you." "What! No." Sunset responded. Adagio merely laughed poked Sunset in the cheek. "I'm just kidding, your so easy to tease." Sunset rolled her eyes and sat back. Ever since they became friends one of Adagio's favorite things to do was tease Sunset, mostly because she took things to literally. Sunset didn't mind it to much, but there was times where it got annoying. She also had a problem telling if Adagio was genuine or not. Sonata put the movie in and they started to watch it. It was a normal by the books action movie, but everyone enjoyed it. But for a few, they were enjoying someone else's company more than the movie. But soon, like every movie, it ended and the group started to talk to each other. After about a hour or two people were deciding it was time to leave. Sunset got up to leave but Adagio held on to her arm. "Going so soon." She said looking at the pony turned human. "Well, I do have homework this weekend that I need to get done." came Sunset's answer. Adagio gently pulled her back into the chair. "But that's what Saturday and Sunday are for, besides, wouldn't you like to spend more time with me." She said, looking Sunset directly in the eyes. "Al.....Alright, I'll stay a little longer, just for you. After all, you are my best friend." They both smiled at each other and started a conversation. The others had made their way through the house and to the door. Sonata said good bye to them all and wished them a good night. She soon made her way back to the kitchen and saw Aria cleaning the drinking cups. "Do you need any help Ari?" She asked helpfully. "No, I don't. And why do you call me that?" She asked. "Because your my best friend Aria, and best friends give nicknames to each other." Sonata stated, walking over to her. "Yeah, whatever." Aria sad grumply. She suddenly stopped what she was doing when Sonata gave her a hug from behind. "You may not think of me as your bestie, but your definitely mine." Sonata said as she squeezed Aria. Aria spun around and hugged her back. "Your.........Your my....best friend to, Sonata." She said with genuinely. Sonata smiled in the hug. "I knew it!." She said happily. "But let me before someone sees us." Aria said quickly. "Alright Ari." Sonata said, letting her go. Soon Aria finished the dishes and headed in the direction of her room, with Sonata right behind her. On the way she passed Sunset and Adagio still sitting in the recliner. "Sunset, why are you still here?" Aria asked curiously. Sunset looked over at the two. "Adagio asked me to stay longer." Aria gave them a confused face. "Weird. You know you could've moved over to the couch instead of staying in the recliner." She stated dryly. Both Sunset and Adagio realized they were still in the recliner, which made them both laugh. "Oh well, its not like we mind." Adagio said. "You guys are weird." Aria said as she made her way to her room. Eventually Sunset left, leaving Adagio sitting in the living room alone. "Your always so happy when Sunsets around." Sonata said standing behind the recliner. "Of course she does, she's my best friend." Adagio said getting up. "Just like how Aria makes you happy." she said as she walked past Sonata, smirking. Sonata blushed a little and ran after Adagio saying, "Not funny." Rarity and Applejack arrived at the Apples family farm to drop the latter off. "I appreciate ya driving Rares." Applejack said, looking at Rarity "But of course darling, I enjoy our rides together." She said happily "Yeah, so do I. Well, I'll be seeing you." Applejack said as she got out of the car. "Good bye, say hi to Applebloom for me." And with that Rarity drove home with a smile on her face. Rainbow walked with Fluttershy to her door. "Sadly Flutters, I guess this ends the night." Rainbow said opening her door for her. Fluttershy merely nodded. Before walking in she gave Rainbow Dash a hug. "Good night Dashie." "Good night Flutters." And with that they parted and FLuttershy walked into her house. Rainbow got in her car and drove home, feeling good inside. > Night of Fright > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its been three days since the movie night at the Dazzlings, and it was time for another weekly soccer game at Canterlot High. Sunset, Fluttershy, and Rarity sat on the bleachers watching the game while also cheering on Rainbow Dash and Applejack as they played. "Do you think they can actual win this one?" Rarity asked, watching the ball go from person to person. "Have faith Rarity, they've come back from worse before," Sunset replied, taking a sip from her drink. Rarity didn't think to much on her reply while she watched the ball get stolen from Rainbow. "But they don't seem to have the same coordination and push they usually do," Rarity said, putting her head in her hands. "Don't worry Rarity, I'm sure our friends have it handled," Fluttershy responded to her, patting Rarity on the shoulder. "Since when did you care so much about soccer?" Sunset asked Rarity suspiciously. This was the first year that Rarity actual watched the soccer games, and cared how they went. "Well darling, Applejack told me she was going to join this year, much to Rainbow's joy. She told me I should come watch the games. At first I didn't want to since soccer was such a unlady like profession, but I've found myself enjoying the sport." Rarity told her curious friend. "So all it took to get you out here was Applejack asking you to be here," said Sunset. She lifted her eyebrow leaned over to Rarity. "I bet you've been watching her this whole game, and you can't wait till the games over so you can spend time with her," she said, making Rarity just a tad bit flustered. "That is not true at all Sunset Shimmer! Honestly, you sound just like Adagio," Rarity said defensively. Sunset merely laughed before looking down at her phone and sighing. "It's a shame they didn't want to come, but I also can't blame them," she said disappointed. "Well I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to come back to place where I hypnotized all the people," Rarity stated. She saw that Sunset was looking at the empty seat next to her with a frown and decided for a little revenge. "You just wish Adagio was sitting next to you, maybe with her arm around you." Sunset snapped back around to her flustered. "That's not true! I like her company just as much as Sonata and Aria's," she retorted. "Now girls, lets not argue with each other, we need to cheer on our friends," Fluttershy said, turning to the two other girls. "Your right darling, we are here for them after all," Rarity told her. "YAY RAINBOW DASH! KICK THAT BALL RIGHT INTO THEIR NET!" Pinkie yelled from beside the bleachers, making Sunset jump. "Pinkie! You startled me. Where have you been?" Sunset asked, regaining her composure. "Oh I've been over at the concessions stand getting cotton candy!" She replied quickly. "You'd think with someone like you in the school they wouldn't sell all that sugar," Rarity said, looking at the five bags of cotton candy. "I love it!" Pinkie stated, plopping down next to Sunset. "I heard you guys talking about the Dazzlings earlier," "And what of it darling?" Rarity asked. "Did you wonder what movie they'll pick this Friday," Pinkie said, stuffing her face with cotton candy. "No, why?" Sunset asked confused. "Because it's Halloween that day!" Pinkie said, slightly jumping in the air. "Is it really? I hope we don't watch a horror movie." Fluttershy said shivering a little. "We might, especially if Aria picks it," Sunset told her. "Oh, I don't think I'll wanna be there for that," Fluttershy told them. "O come one Flutters, we'll all make sure you have a great time. And Rainbow would be sad if you wasn't there," Pinkie told her, trying to brighten her up. "Pinkie's right darling. Besides, I'm sure all three of them will have everything covered." Rarity commented to her. Meanwhile, at the Dazzling's house, Sonata was walking up the stairs to Aria's room. She was sad that Adagio and Aria decided not to join their friends at the soccer game. She opened Aria's door to find her sitting at her desk making a list. Aria turned and looked at the door. "What do you want Sonata," she said dryly. "How come you and Adagio didn't want to go to the soccer game?" Sonata asked innocently. Aria growled at her frustratingly. "How many times do we have to tell you. We don't want to go back to that school and see those people. We may have friends there, but we don't want to deal with all of the dumbasses that also go there. Now leave me alone, I'm working." Sonata walked into the room. "Working on what?" "None of your business," Aria stated. "But I wanna know, and maybe I can help you with it," Sonata said cheerfully. "Ah, fine," Aria said as Sonata walked over to her. "I'm making a list of stuff to get for this Friday. I want this to be a good Halloween." "That's right! This Friday is Halloween! I bet your really excited," Sonata told her joyfully. "About as excited as I can get," Aria said smirking. "Now I want this house to be really creepy for when our friends arrive. But we need to get some stuff first." "Are we going to have mall shopping trip!" said Sonata, shaking with excitement. "Looks like it, but first we need to ask Adagio," Aria stated. "Ask me what?" Adagio asked from the doorway. Aria and Sonata jumped a little at her voice. "Jeez Adagio, do you always have to be so damn sneaky." Aria grumbled at her. Adagio smirked at them. "I could hear you two plotting something, and it sounds like I'm involved." "Yeah Dagi, we need to go to the mall to get Halloween decorations," Sonata told her, bouncing like a little kid. "Ah yes, this Friday is Halloween. Alright, lets go," she told them. As they made there way out the door Adagio turned to Aria and said, "But this year you can't hang a fake dead corpse in the yard, we had enough problems with the complaints and police calls last year." "Yeah yeah, whatever," Aria told here. There was thirty seconds left to the game, and the score was tied. Rainbow Dash looked over at Applejack and gave her a thumbs up, which Applejack returned. Rainbow took the ball from the enemy teams middle offence player and dribbled it down the field. When one of the defenders came up to attempt a steal she passed the ball to AJ. Applejack dribbled past one defender into the corner of the field. There she crossed the ball across the field to Rainbow Dash who headed the ball into the goal. The ref blew his whistle, instancing the game was over. The crowd stood and cheered, yelling at the tops of their lungs. "THEY DID IT! THEY WON!" Fluttershy yelled as she jumped for joy. "Wow Fluttershy, that's the loudest I've heard you all year," Sunset said laughing. "Oh, sorry, I got carried away," she said blushing from embarrassment. "Don't be Flutters, this is a moment of joy!" Pinkie said to her, jumping up and down. Once the excitement died down the players joined the bleacher people. The three girls gave the congratulations to the two players, as well as high fives and fist pumps. "Looks like we're going to the finals next week," Rainbow said, high fiving AJ. "It definitely does, can't wait to take on those teams." AJ responded happily. "I have a idea darlings. Why don't we all go celebrate this victory at that nice restaurant in the mall. My treat," Rarity said joyfully. "Sounds great Rares, but first, let me and Rainbow change out of our jerseys," said AJ, rubbing sweat off her face. Soon the group was ready and made there way to the mall. After getting their wonderful meals, they sat and talked, mostly about the game. "I told you we had it in the bag, I mean come on, with me on the team, who's stopping us," Rainbow said gloating. "With that attitude I'm surprised you work as a team," Applejack responded to her. "Well anyway, hey Sunset, I noticed that Dazzlings didn't show. I guess they don't care for soccer," Rainbow said to her bacon haired friend. "They didn't want to be at school, considering what happened last time..." Sunset said, looking at her food. Rainbow noticed someone walking towards their table and got a idea. "Well what expect from a group like those three, especially with a monster like Adagio as their leader." Sunset looked up from her food at Rainbow. "She is not a monster!" Adagios kind. She's fun to be around. She's a great person. She's pretty. She's...right behind me...isn't she." Adagio leaned down and wrapped her arms around Sunset. "Ah Sunny, don't stop now, you were doing really good." Sunset blushed a little and made a grumpy face at Rainbow Dash while Adagio pulled up a chair beside her. "Well Adagio, what brings you to the mall?" Rarity asked, sipping her tea. "Aria and Sonata are here getting stuff for Friday. Aria wants to make it a memorable Halloween." Adagio responded to her. "So, where are the other two?" Applejack asked. "Who knows. I lost tract of those two idiots awhile ago." Adagio told her, taking a sip from Sunset's drink. "You don't mind if I drink some of this, right?" "Sure, go ahead," Sunset told her, knowing it would be pointless to say no. "Hey girls!" Sonata yelled from across the mall. "Sonata! Don't yell, we're in a public mall!" scolded Aria. "Sorry, I got excited," Sonata told her. Aria merely rolled her eyes as they walked over to the group. "So what did you two idiots get?" Adagio asked them. "Enough stuff to make this Friday fun." Aria told her, smirking. As everyone got up to leave, Adagio turned to the others and said, "If Aria is happy about Friday being memorable, you best be prepared." The others took her warning with worried glances. Soon that Friday came and everyone made there way to the Dazzling's house. They all decided to get there at the same time to experience whatever Aria had in store for them at the same time. When they arrived the group noticed the house was dark, except for candles in the windows. They cautiously made their way to the door, noticing the yard was untouched, which made them wonder even more what was inside. Rainbow got the courage to knock on the door. When she did, it creaked open slowly. Rainbow was the first to walk inside, followed by everyone else. The floor was lined with candles, burning in the dark. Once they all made it inside the door slammed shut, making Fluttershy squeak. They all slowly advanced through the candle lit entrance. "Aria...Sonata...Adagio...where are you?" Rainbow called into the darkness. As they slowly walked Rarity accidently stepped in a puddle of something. She shined her phone down to see a red puddle which was being made from something dripping from the ceiling. "Ew! Gross! I hope that comes out of my shoe," Rarity said worryingly. "That's what your worried about Rares, that's ridiculous, right Pinkie," Applejack said as she looked to her right to where Pinkie was, but she wasn't. "Pinkie? Guys, Pinkie's disappeared." They all turned to see that she was indeed gone. As they all turned to see where she could've gone, they heard a low growl in the darkness, a very inhuman growl. As they huddled together they heard footsteps above them, and another growl. "Dashie, I don't like this, can we leave," Fluttershy said as the stomping continued. "There is no escape," came a voice from the dark. The group turned towards the voice and shinned their phones lights in the direction it came, but saw nothing. "Your trapped in here with us now," it spoke again. "Your trapped in here...with HER!" "With who?" Sunset asked the voice in the dark, only for it to be met with a loud monstrous roar from the direction ahead of them. The group began to panic and make their way out the door as loud footsteps where heard following them, as well as another roar. They all got outside and safe distance from the house, only to see Adagio and Aria follow them out, busting up laughing. "O my god that was fun! You're still really good at the siren roar Adagio!" Aria told her laughing. "I knew it would be useful some day," Adagio responded to her. She motioned to the others to come in with her. The rest reluctantly followed them in to find Sonata and Pinkie laughing too. "You should've seen the looks on your faces when Adagio came down the hall!" Sonata said laughing loudly. "This was more fun than I thought it would be!" Pinkie stated. "Wait, you was in on this Pinkie?" Rainbow asked her. "Sure I was silly, how do you think I disappeared so easily," she responded to her. "Well, I hope you've had your fun Aria," Rarity told her, "but now lets do what we came to do." "Alright, party pooper," Aria giggled at her. They all made their way into the living room. "Oh Pinkie, we forgot to tell you that the second loveseat is gone, so I don't know where your going to sit." "It's alright silly, I can sit on the floor," which she did, sitting on the floor at the edge of the couch. Everyone took there usual spots, including Sunset, who sat back on the recliner with Adagio. "O, come to join me again Sunny," Adagio remarked, looking seductively at Sunset. "It was either this or the floor, and your not as bad as the floor," Sunset joked with her. "Well if your going to look at it that way," said Adagio, looking away from her. "I'm just joking Adagio, I like sitting with you," Sunset said genuinely. "I'm glad to here that," Adagio told her, looking back at her. Aria emerged from upstairs with a movie in her hands. "If you thought that the intro of this evening was the only scares you get, your wrong, for I have picked out the perfect movie for tonight." she stated triumphantly. "How come Aria is so happy tonight?" Sunset asked Adagio. "Halloween is her favorite holiday, she's always like this when it rolls around," Adagio told her. "Oh," was Sunset's only response. Aria put the movie in and sat down next to Sonata. The movie started, it was one of the newest horror movies, and regarded as one of the scariest. During the movie Sunset looked around at everyone to see if they were enjoying it. Fluttershy had her face buried against Rainbow, refusing to watch the movie, and Rainbow wasn't looking to thrilled about watching it. Applejack and Rarity merely cringed at the movie as it played. Pinkie was to busy eating snacks she somehow snuck into the house. Sonata was clearly not enjoying it, but Aria had turned to her and whispered to her stop being a wuss and enjoy it, which she clearly couldn't. As for Aria and Adagio, they were enjoying it, more so Aria. Sunset sometimes liked horror movies, but this one was a bit much for her taste. Once the movie was over, each person started to get up to move. It didn't take long for Fluttershy to ask Rainbow if they could leave, which they did. Next was Applejack and Rarity, simply because Rarity wanted to make it home and fix her shoe. Pinkie was next to leave, but only after giving some snacks to Sonata. Sunset was yet again, last to leave, but this time it was to help Adagio pick up candles. Once she was gone the Dazzlings made there ways to their rooms. Sonata changed into her pajamas and got into bed. She tried to sleep, but nightmares of the movie came flooding to her head. After a hour and a half of trying to sleep, she got up and walked quietly to Aria's room. She quietly opened the door and stepped inside. "Ari...Ari, are you awake?" she asked Aria turned in her bed towards her. "Sonata...what are you doing in here?" she asked sleepily. "I...couldn't sleep...I kept having nightmares," Sonata told her. Aria got up and sat on the edge of her bed. "About what? The movie?" "...yeah," she responded. "And I was wondering if I could stay with you for a little bit." Aria groaned, she knew it was her fault for making her watch that movie, and now she had to deal with the consequences. "Alright, come here," she said, motioning towards Sonata to come sit by her. Sonata didn't waste any time, she quickly made her way over to her, but instead of sitting next to her, Sonata sat in her lap and cuddled up to her. Aria sat a little shocked at this, but soon put her own arms around Sonata, trying to comfort the siren. After about ten minutes of this Sonata spoke up. "Ari, can I sleep with you tonight?" she asked her purple friend. "What? Why?" Aria questioned her back. "Because I feel safe with you," Sonata told her. Aria looked at her for a moment before sighing and letting her go to lay in bed. She expected her to just lay on the other side, but Sonata cuddled up beside her and put her arms around her again to snuggle up behind her. "Goodnight Ari," she said as she nuzzled her head in Aria's hair. "Goodnight Sonata," and with that, Aria drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face. > Love slithers into their hearts > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fluttershy took a sip of her tea as she sat in Sugarcube Corner. Sugarcube was one of her favorite places to stop and get a drink, since their tea was delicious. It was also a place she could sit and be to herself, with the only distraction being Pinkie Pie, who would occasionally come by her table to say hi and get her refills. As she looked out the window she thought back on the past few weeks. After the Halloween night things went back to being normal. The movie nights were back to being standard movies, since Aria couldn't pick them anymore. The Canterlot soccer team went to the finals and won, much to everyone's joy. Applejack had them all celebrate at her family farm, since her family was throwing a party for the team's success. The party was fun and full of excitement, especially from Pinkie. But something happened at the party she couldn't forget. During the party, Rainbow told Fluttershy that without her support, she wouldn't of been able to play as well as she did. Fluttershy merely said she was being to kind to her, which Rainbow replied only with a big, warm hug. Fluttershy squeaked when it happened, but she found herself melting in Rainbow's grasp. After the hug, Rainbow made her way over to the others, but Fluttershy couldn't move. She felt a strange tingling inside her that she couldn't explain. After hearing her name being called she snapped back into reality and walked over to the others. Since then she had been confused about the tingling feeling. Did she care more about Rainbow Dash then she thought? Or were her feelings just messing with her? She once again snapped back into reality when she heard her name being called. She looked back into the restaurant to see Adagio walking towards her table. "Hi Fluttershy," Adagio said, sitting down on the opposite side of the table. "Hi Adagio, what brings you to Sugarcube Corner?" Fluttershy asked her. "Pinkie wanted Sonata to come down and try a new frosty drink they now have. She said it would blow her mind. But we don't let Sonata go out alone so Aria had to go with her, and I just came to get a drink," Adagio responded to her. Adagio motioned towards Pinkie at the counter to come over to her. With lightning like speed Pinkie made her way to the table. "What can I get you Adagio? A cupcake? A big cake? A mountain of cupcakes? A watermelon?" Pinkie asked her excitingly. "No, I just want a cup of coffee. Black," Adagio told her. "Coming right up!" Pinkie said as she sped off. "So what brings you here Fluttershy?" Adagio asked her, as Pinkie delivered her drink. "I just sometimes come here to think," Fluttershy said. "About what?" Adagio asked her curiously. "Oh, different things." "Like..." Adagio said, motioning with her hand to give her a idea. "I was just thinking about the soccer championship win, and the party afterwards...and something else," Fluttershy told her. Adagio's interest was peaked. "What was the last part?" "Nothing...just nothing," Fluttershy said, looking down at her hands in her lap. "Now I wouldn't call Rainbow Dash nothing," Adagio told her, smirking at her. Fluttershy shot up to look at her. "What!" she asked embarrassingly. Adagio took a sip of her coffee and looked at her. "I saw you two at the party, and how you looked so confused after her hug." Before Fluttershy could say anything, she kept going. "You two are always together, at the movie nights, after school, at the mall. It's very obvious you have some, special feelings for your rainbow friend. But if she doesn't know about those feelings, she might develop some feelings for someone else. Now that wouldn't that be a shame?" When she was finished, Fluttershy was as red as she could get. But she knew Adagio was right, she had to tell Rainbow how she felt. In a quick effort to change topics she looked over at Sonata and Aria by the counter. Sonata was trying a bright blue drink and Aria was standing beside her with her arms crossed. "How do Sonata and Aria get along so well?" she asked. Adagio merely shrugged. "Trying to explain those two is like trying to explain Pinkie's logic, you just can't. Although, I do envy those two sometimes. They both have each other, but there are times where I wish I had someone always around as well." Fluttershy looked at her curiously. "What about Sunset?" "She's definitely been there for me, and I greatly appreciate that, but she isn't always around," Adagio told her, taking another drink. Fluttershy thought hard about a solution. It didn't take very long before a idea popped into her head. "What about a pet?" Adagio put her drink down and thought about her answer. "I've never thought about having a pet." "Pets are great for companionship, and it will always be around the house for you," Fluttershy told her with joy. Adagio sat back and thought about it. Soon a smile came to her face, as well as her answer. "Alright Fluttershy, you've convinced me. But I have no idea what to get." "I'll help you, we could go to the pet store now if you want," she said. "Alright, let's go pick out a animal," Adagio told her, getting up from her seat. They both put money on the table with their checks and made their way over to the other two, just in time to see Sonata finish the blue drink. "That...was...DELICIOUS!" Sonata said, jumping in the air. "I'm glad you liked it!" Pinkie told her. "Hey idiots, if your done being taste testers, we're going to the pet store," Adagio told them. "Why?" Aria asked her. "To get a pet of course, why else would we go there," Adagio responded to her, rolling her eyes. "Whatever," Aria mumbled to herself as she and Sonata followed their leader and Fluttershy out of the restaurant. Eventually they all made their way to the pet store. After entering inside, each siren walked to different parts to look at different animals. Sonata walked over to the dogs. "How about a dog Dagi, you could play with him in the yard," Sonata told her, pointing to a medium sized dog. "No, to much work and energy," she told her, making Sonata frown. "How about something more relaxing and less energetic," Fluttershy suggested to Adagio. "What about a fish?" Aria said, looking at a tank of mean looking fish. "Fish are boring," Adagio responded to her. "How about a hamster, or rabbit, or what about a cat," Sonata said to her, making her way next to Aria. "Ugh, not everything has to be so fluffy and cuddly Sonata," Aria told her. "Well fish are to boring, just like you" Sonata responded to her. Fluttershy stepped in between them, hoping to stop a fight from happening. "Let's just let Adagio pick what she wants, alright girls." "Fine," Aria said, turning her back to the two of them. "Dumbass," she whispered out loud. "Bitch," Sonata said back. "What did you just call me!" Aria said, turning around. "Girls, shut up!" Adagio said to them as she made her way to the reptile section. She scanned different tanks before stopping at a rather large one. She peered inside to have look, but was met by the gaze of a large Burmese Python. The two looked at each other before the snake slid away. Adagio pondered for a little bit before turning back to Fluttershy. "I've made my decision," she told the three others girls. "Really! What did you pick?" Fluttershy asked her with excitement. "I choose this snake," she said, pointing to the tank. The other girls walk over to it and looked inside to see the snake coiled up. "I shouldn't be surprised. Every evil mistress needs a evil animal," Aria stated. "We aren't evil anymore Ari, besides, we need to come up with name for it," Sonata told her, as Fluttershy unlocked the tank. "How about Scaley?" "No, that's stupid," Aria retorted. "How about Mr. Slithers?" Sonata said back. "Still stupid." "Slytherin?" "No." "Monty?" "No." "Girls, we don't need to argue," Fluttershy said, walking to them, "we should just let Adagio name it, right Sonata." "Yeah, you're right Fluttershy," Sonata told her, feeling defeated. "I have the perfect name for it," Adagio told everyone. The three others turned back around to see that she had the snake around her shoulders. "Scarlett." "Scarlett? But it's not even red," Aria told her. "Doesn't matter, I like the name, and it is now her name," Adagio responded to her. "Do you even know if it's a girl?" Aria asked her. "It is," Fluttershy confirmed. "Well lucky you," Aria said, crossing her arms. Fluttershy helped Adagio pick out a comfortable tank for her pet, and also some mice for it to eat, despite Fluttershy being a little sad to see them go for that. Adagio paid for everything and made her way out the door, with Scarlett around her shoulders and her two siren friends behind her. Aria was caring the whole tank while Sonata carried the box of mice, giving them names, which made Aria roll her eyes. Soon it was time for another movie night, and Fluttershy was excited to see how Adagio was doing with Scarlett. As she waited in her house for Rainbow to come pick her up, she thought about Adagio's words from before. She did need to tell Rainbow how she felt, or she might loose her. Little did she know that Rainbow was also thinking about her on the way to Fluttershy's house. Dash had also been thinking a lot about Fluttershy as of late, thinking about how much she cared for the shy girl. But Rainbow didn't know how to go about with it, she didn't want to cause any harm to the friendship the two have had for years. But she knew that she would have to reveal her feelings eventually. Rainbow arrived at her house and knocked on the door. Fluttershy opened it and said hi. Rainbow replied back with hi as well, and they both got into Dash's car. The ride was awkwardly quiet, which made them both very uncomfortable. But soon they arrived at the Dazzling's house. They noticed that they were the last ones there. They didn't even bother to knock, they just made their way inside. When they got to the living room Rarity spoke up. "Well it's about time you two got here," she said. "Sorry, we were a little slow tonight," Rainbow told them. "Well it doesn't matter now, we were just waiting for Adagio to come back down with the movie anyway," Applejack told them. The two merely nodded and made there way to the their seats. They sat down and looked around the room, to avoid looking at each other. Eventually Fluttershy broke the silence between them. "Dashie..." "Yeah Flutters?" "I want to tell you something..." "What is it?" But before Fluttershy could say anything they heard Rarity scream. Looking over at the couch they saw a distressed Rarity clinging onto Applejack to get away from a snake that was sitting on the other side. Quickly the three sirens entered the room to see what the commotion was about, but when they saw what it was Adagio merely laughed and walked over to the couch. "Aw, what's the matter Rarity?" she said mockingly "There is a snake on your couch! And it's close to me!" Rarity said, moving closer to Applejack, who began to be a little flustered. Adagio noticed this and came up with a idea. With a smirk she picked up the snake and moved it towards Rarity. "Come on Rarity, just say hello to her." "NO! Get that infernal thing away from me!" Rarity yelled, as she jumped into Applejack's lap. Applejack started blush a little from the sudden close connection from Rarity. "But don't you wanna meet Scarlett," Adagio told her in mocking tone. "NO! I don't want anything to do with that monster! Get it away from me!" "Alright, suit yourself," Adagio said, putting Scarlett back around her shoulders. She moved over to Sunset in the recliner and sat down. "I didn't know you got a pet," Sunset told her, looking at Scarlett. "I was saving it for a surprise, Adagio told her. "What do you think of her?" "She's...interesting. Never thought of you as a snake person." Sunset replied. "I'm full of surprises," Adagio told her. From across the room Rainbow looked at the animal curiously. "Since when did Adagio own a snake?" "I helped her pick it out this week," Fluttershy told her. "Oh. Before the whole pet surprise you said you wanted to tell me something," "It can wait till later," Fluttershy responded to her. "Are you sure?" Rainbow asked her. Fluttershy merely nodded to her. Adagio put in the movie she brought from upstairs in and they watched it. Neither Rainbow nor Fluttershy could concentrate on the movie though, they could only think about what they should say to each other. After the movie was over and everyone was socializing, Fluttershy walked over to Adagio to say hello to Scarlett. She asked how she was doing, which Adagio replied with fine. After a couple minutes of chatting Rainbow walked up to them to say it was time to go. As Fluttershy walked away, Adagio winked at her and mouthed the words go get her. Fluttershy blushed some and walked out of the house. Once Fluttershy and Rainbow made it to her house, Fluttershy asked Rainbow to come in instead of leaving. "Ok," was her only response. She followed Flutters into her living room, where they sat down on the couch. They awkwardly sat there until Fluttershy spoke up. "Dashie...I want to tell you what I wouldn't tell you earlier." Rainbow turned facing her as Fluttershy blushed and looked forward. "I...wanted...to tell you...that...I care a lot about you...and that...maybe...we could..." but before she could finish, Rainbow help up a finger to her mouth. "I...feel the same way Flutters. I care about you a lot too. "You...really do," Fluttershy said, with tears in her eyes. "Yes, I care about you a lot Flutters, and I was wanting to know if you would want to...date me.." Fluttershy threw her arms around Rainbow, with tears flowing down her face. "Yes! I absolutely want to date you!" They sat there hugging for about ten minutes before they separated themselves. "But, I don't want to tell the others yet." "Why not?" Dash asked. "Because, I don't know how they'll respond." "Ok, it can be our little secret," Rainbow said, bringing Fluttershy close. After a few minutes of cuddling Rainbow got up to leave. Fluttershy walked with her to door, and opened it. With one more hung, they parted, with Rainbow Dash walking to car feeling better than she ever had before, and Fluttershy leaning against her wall feeling free as a butterfly. > Christmas shenanigans > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Applejack and Applebloom made their ways down the mall, looking at different stores as they passed by. With Christmas coming soon all the stores were decorated to adhere to the holiday. Applejack had been asked to come by the mall to help Rarity pick out a new winter coat, since her cat had ruined the last one she had. AJ decided that she would bring along Applebloom so she could hang out with Sweetie Bell, who AJ requested that Rarity bring along. "Ya know sis, you and Rarity sure do hang out a lot," Applebloom told her older sister. "Well, we're good friends," AJ said back. "Are you sure that's the only reason?" Applebloom asked her. "Yeah, why?" "Because ya don't hang out with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie, or Sunset as much as her," Applebloom reported to her. "Well we've known each other for awhile, and we just, get along well," AJ told her. "I'm starting to believe there's more to this than your letting onto," Applebloom said, narrowing her eyes at her sis. Before AJ could say something back, she spotted Rarity and Sweetie Bell walk out of a store. AJ called out to them and they walked over. "Hello darlings, I'm glad to see you've made it," Rarity said as they approached. "Howdy Rarity, glad to see that you brought Sweetie Bell," AJ responded to her. "Why yes, of course. Everyone should be able to spend time with their friends. Now Sweetie, you and Applebloom need to meet us back here in about three hours. And don't leave the mall, we don't need another situation like last time," Rarity informed her. "Alright Rarity. Come on Applebloom, there's a new store I want to show you!" Sweetie told her as they walked quickly away. "Kids, always finding something new to explore," said Applejack. "True, but at least they don't get bored easily," Rarity said, laughing a little. Applejack chuckled at her response. "So where was ya thinking about getting a new coat at?" "Oh there's this new clothing store that opened last week that's simply marvelous. All the best designers are selling their merchandise there. When I entered the store I saw so many wonderful coats that I just couldn't decide on my own, and that's why your here," Rarity told her, as they walked. "Sounds great, but which store is it?" AJ questioned her. "It's called, Moda," Rarity said, motioning big with her hands. "That's...nice?" "I know darling, such a clever name," Rarity said to her as they approached closer to the store. Once they were inside AJ was impressed by all the fancy clothes. Rarity merely walked her over to the coat section and started showing her different coats. "What do you think of these two darling?" Applejack looked from the one, back to the other multiple times. "They look the same." "Oh don't be so bland Applejack, take a closer look." Applejack stepped forward and looked very closely at the two coats. "They still look the same to me." "Applejack darling, these are two very different coats. This one is made by the top French fashion designer in the world. And this one is made by the top English designer in the world. Which do you think is better?" "Uh...that one, I guess," Applejack said, pointing to one. "The French special, good choice Applejack, but I don't know. I do like the English style as well." Rarity told her. "Rarity, it doesn't really matter," AJ said to her. "Why doesn't it matter darling?" "Because you look good in no matter what coat you wear," Applejack told her honestly. "Oh your so sweet Applejack." She pondered for a few moments, looking at the two coats. "I think I will go with the French special. Thank you Applejack darling, you was always good at this, it's why I always bring you along." Rarity said to her as she tried on the coat. "Hehe, yeah," AJ said, looking at the ground. "Ya still don't get it," she said to herself. "What was that darling?" Rarity asked her. "Oh, nothing." "If you say so," Rarity said, turning back to the mirror. Applejack watched Rarity look at herself in the mirror, with a smile on her face but sadness in her heart. In a different part of town, Sunset and Adagio sat at a booth in a restaurant. The two had been out buying items for the upcoming Christmas party at the Dazzling's house. "This restaurant is amazing Adagio," Sunset told her as she took at bite of her food. "It definitely is. I figured we could use something special after spending a couple hours shopping." "We should come here again sometime." Adagio smirked at her. "Like a date." Sunset choked a little on her food. "No, not like that. I should've seen that coming." Adagio giggled at this. "I figured you would know me better by now Sunny," she said as she took a drink. "Yeah," she responded to her. "Adagio, can I ask you something?" "Sure, ask me anything." "Have you...ever dated someone before?" Adagio took another sip of her drink before responding. "No, I've never been one for relationships. As sirens, we strive for adoration, but I never bothered to actually love anyone before. Nothing changed when we were banished here. The people we controlled would love us, but we never cared to love anyone back. Besides, when what you do for a living is take control of people, true love doesn't exist." Sunset pondered on what she said. "You've never felt love towards someone else?" "I do love Sonata and Aria, they're like my family. But to answer your question, no, I've never loved someone like that before," Adagio told her. Sunset merely nodded her head and went back to eating. After a few moments Adagio spoke back up. "What about you Sunset?" "What?" Sunset looked back to her. "Have you ever loved someone before? I know you dated that Flash guy." "I only did that for popularity. I actually didn't care about him at all. I didn't even want to spend time with him." Sunset told her. "I've never actually found someone that I would want to date." "So, you've never kissed anyone?" Adagio asked her. "No, I've never really had a chance with someone I care about. Have you?" Adagio sipped her drink. "Nope, I've never wanted to." Sunset looked down at her plate and back to Adagio. "I guess I've just been waiting for the right person in my life." Adagio put her hand on top of Sunsets. "I hope you find the right person." she said with a smile. Sunset smiled back at her. "Thank you Adagio, I hope you find someone special too." They both smiled at each other for a couple seconds before Adagio pulled her hand back. "Well, I guess it's time to head back home, we've got a Christmas party to plan." Soon the day had arrived for the party and Sunset wanted to be there early to see if everything was ready. She pulled up to the Dazzling's house and knocked on the door. Soon the door opened and she was met by Sonata wearing a santa hat. "Hi Sunset! Come in." "Hey Sonata, Merry Christmas." "Merry Christmas to you too," Sonata told her, giving her a hug. When they parted Sunset saw Aria walking down the hall. "Hey Aria, Merry Christmas." Aria turned around to see her. "Hey," was her only response before walking away. "I'm guessing Aria doesn't have much Christmas spirit," Sunset said to Sonata. "Not really. Oh well, Pinkie will make up for it." "Yeah, that's for sure," Sunset said, following Sonata through the house. Sonata joined Aria in the living room and Sunset joined Adagio in kitchen, just in time to see her finish working on something. "Hey Adagio, what are you doing?" Adagio turned to look at Sunset. "Hey Sunset, I'm just finishing something that will make this party lots of fun." "What is it?" Adagio carried her contraption over to Sunset. " It's a mistletoe on the end of a extendable fishing pole. I'm going to use it when I spot two people being alone together." Sunset was taken back by her scheme. "Why would you want to watch people kiss each other?" Adagio shook her head, "I don't expect them to kiss each other, I just want to watch them get flustered and squirm under it. It'll be hilarious." "I doubt that," Sunset responded to her. Adagio looked over to see Sonata and Aria standing in the living room talking to each other. "Just watch." She stood at the entrance of the kitchen and extended the pole, when it was long enough she had the mistletoe slowly drop right in between Sonata and Aria. The first to notice it was Aria, which it took her a second before realizing what it was. When Sonata noticed Aria looking at something, she looked up and saw it, and immediately started blushing. Aria tried not to but couldn't keep from blushing as well. Both girls uncomfortably shifted under the mistletoe. "Ari...we don't have to...right?" Sonata asked, blushing uncontrollably. "O-of course not!" Aria said, blushing even more. She quickly turned her head when she heard giggling towards the kitchen. "Your right Adagio, this is going to be fun," Sunset said. "I told you," Adagio responded, reeling the pole and line back in. Aria and Sonata walked away from each other. When Aria passed Adagio she growled at her, which made Adagio laugh even more. Later on everyone was at the house and having a great time. Pinkie had brought presents for everyone, and Applejack brought her families famous apple pies. After eating and opening all the presents, Adagio noticed people were starting to group up. She nudged Sunset and had her follow her to her room. When they entered Adagio got mistletoe pole and turned to Sunset. "Now this is where the fun begins," she said as they quietly made their ways back down stairs. They surveyed the room for potential victims. They spotted Applejack and Rarity, and the timing couldn't be better, since all the others were watching Pinkie do some special tricks with cupcakes. Adagio carefully extended the poll above them, then slowly let the mistletoe fall in between them. Both of them had noticed it at the same time, with Applejack looking away with a blush and Rarity doing the same. Both couldn't look at each other, but when they finally turned to each other the mistletoe was gone. They heard giggling and turned to see Adagio reeling her toy back in. AJ wanted to say something, but decided not to and tried to make another conversation with Rarity. Later Rainbow and Fluttershy were in the kitchen getting drinks, and Adagio didn't let the opportunity pass by. She and Sunset stood at the second entrance to the kitchen and did the same procedure, letting the mistletoe go right in between them. Rainbow noticed it first and blushed some, but when Fluttershy noticed it, she squeeked and her whole face turned red. Seeing her all red Rainbow didn't know what to do. She heard giggling behind her and turned to see Adagio and Sunset moving on with the contraption. Later that evening when Adagio wanted Sunset to come with her and see Scarlett, Rainbow had everyone gather around. Earlier Adagio had put down her toy in order to get a drink, and during that time Rainbow had snatched it, and before she could notice Adagio got the idea to go see her pet. "It's time for some pay back," Dash said, which everyone nodded to. They all moved to the kitchen and waited for the two pranksters to come back. Eventually they made it back to the living room, and stopped once they saw that everyone was gone. This gave Rainbow enough time to get the mistletoe exactly where she wanted it. Both Adagio and Sunset turned back to each other to see it. At first Adagio couldn't believe she was being pranked by her own prank, but that was quickly replaced with a idea. She looked out of the corner of her eye to see everyone else peering around the corner of the kitchen entrance. She looked back to Sunset, and saw that she was doing her best to not get flustered. Adagio was not about to let the others have the satisfaction of seeing herself get flustered. So, she calmly walked up to Sunset and kissed her on the cheek. When her lips parted from her cheek she whispered in Sunset's ear Merry Christmas, and walked away. Everyone in the kitchen stood there dumbfounded at what just happened, and seeing their shocked faces made Adagio laugh as she walked away. But Sunset stood there completely shocked and motionless at what happened. Soon the others noticed it. "I think Sunsets gone offline," Pinkie whispered to the others. "I think someone should go turn her on," Sonata whispered back. "I think Adagio already did that," Rainbow responded. Rarity elbowed Rainbow in the side before moving towards Sunset. "Sunset...Sunset darling?" Rarity asked, snapping her fingers in front of Sunset's face. Sunset snapped back into reality, and when she saw everyone standing in front of her, she blushed a little. "I didn't expect her to that," Applejack said. Adagio walked back up and put a arm around Sunset. "Never try to beat a master at their own game." The group giggled a little at this before looking at the dinging clock on the wall. "Oh goodness, look at how late it is. I guess it's time to get going," Rarity said. And with that everyone started to gather their things. Soon everyone had left except for Sunset, who once again offered to stay longer and help clean up. Once they were done she made her way to the door, but was stopped by Adagio. "Thanks for the help with the party," she said. "Yeah, no problem," Sunset responded back to her. She opened the door and was about to walk out, but stopped. When Adagio asked her if something was wrong she turned back to her siren friend and kissed her on the cheek. Adagio stood there shocked, which made Sunset giggle. "Now that we've both shocked each other, we're even," she said before walking out the door. Adagio closed the door and walked to her room, rubbing her cheek and smiling. > Kissing sensation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was Friday afternoon, and Rainbow Dash was helping Fluttershy feed her animals. With another movie night coming up, Rainbow decided to spend the day with her secret girlfriend. The two had been secretly dating for around two months, and Rainbow was wanting it to not be a secret anymore. She didn't like having to hide her true feelings for Flutters when everyone was around. "Hey Flutters?" Rainbow asked her. "Yes Dashie?" Fluttershy replied while she feed her bird. "When are we going to tell the others about, us?" Fluttershy sighed and turned to Rainbow. "I want to tell them just as much as you, but I don't know how they'll respond. I don't want them to be against this. I'm sure they wouldn't, but I can't help but feel like a problem would arise." "Alright Flutters, we'll keep waiting. But eventually we have to tell them, or else they'll find out on their own, and who knows how that would turn out." Fluttershy nodded to her and returned to feeding the bird. It was true that she didn't like keeping a secret either, but the uncertainty of what their friends would say or do was to much for her. She was just waiting for the right opportunity to come out and announce it. A few hours later and further down town, Sweetie Bell was helping Rarity make cookies. Rarity wanted to surprise her friends at the movie night with a new recipe her mother had sent to her, and also to share with her little sister. As they watched the oven Sweetie turned to her older sister. "Have you noticed how much Applejack likes to spend time with you?" "Of course I have darling, she is my closest friend after all," Rarity replied to her. "Yeah, but don't you think it's a bit odd that she chooses you to do almost everything with." "We get along well, not that I don't get along with everyone else, it's just that we enjoy doing some things together more than we would with anyone else," Rarity told her. "And you don't think there's any other reason why she wants to do more things with you?" Sweetie asked her. "What other reason could there be." "I don't know, maybe it's because you make her happy," Sweetie said, leaning towards her sister. "All of us make each other happy Sweetie," Rarity said with a smile. "Maybe it's because she loves you." "Of course she does, Applejack loves all of us," Rarity said as the oven beeped. As she went to pull out the cookies Sweetie Bell face palmed at her response. "You are so blind," she said to herself. "Did you say something?" Rarity turned her head to ask. "No, nothing," Sweetie replied. "Ok then," Rarity said as she pulled out the cookies and laid them on the kitchen counter. "You may have a few of them Sweetie, the rest go to the party. But be careful, cause they are hot." Sweetie Bell grabbed a cookie and shook her head as her sister walked away. The day continued onward and it was time for Applejack to go and pick up Rarity. As she made her way towards the door she passed Applebloom and Big Mac in the kitchen. "Going to pick up Rarity?" Applebloom asked. "Yep, it's my turn tonight to drive," Applejack said with a smile. "Your always so happy to see her, aren't you?" "Well of course I am, she's my best friend," "But I bet ya wish she was more than that," Applebloom said with a sly grin. Applejack blushed slightly and headed for the door. "Now don't ya be silly," she said as she walked out. Applebloom turned to her older brother. "She totally likes Rarity." "Eyeup," he responded with a smile. That evening everyone was at the Dazzling's house except Sunset. Adagio looked at her phone to check the time. Sunset had never been late before, so Adagio started to worry a little. Eventually a knock came from the door, and Adagio hurried to open it. Standing on the other side was Sunset, a very tired looking Sunset. "*yawn* Hey Adagio" "Hey Sunset, you look really tired," Adagio told her as Sunset walked in. "I haven't had much sleep recently, been to busy doing work around the house and for school." "You probably should've stayed home Sunset, you really look like you need sleep," Adagio told her worryingly. "No I can take it, besides, who else would *yawn* sit with you in the recliner. You might of gotten lonely," Sunset joked with her. "Ok, if you say so," Adagio told her as they walked into the living room and took their seat. "Wow Sunset, you look super duper tired," Pinkie said from her spot on the floor. "I'm just a little tired." "Want some sugar!" Pinkie said, holding up five candy bars. "No thanks Pinkie," Sunset responded to her, laughing tiredly. "Ok, suit yourself." Pinkie told her. Sonata put the movie in and sat back down. It was a drama movie, so it was slightly boring at times. While it played, Sunset tried her best to stay awake. She would occasionally drift off only to be awoken by someone commenting on the film, usually Rarity. But eventually sleep triumphed and she was completely out of it. Her body rocked a little until she finally fell over, right into Adagio's lap. Adagio didn't know what to do with the sleeping Sunset on her legs, so she left her to snooze. Adagio didn't really mind, but she did blush some when Sunset put her arms around one of Adagio's legs. The rest of the group were oblivious to the sleeping girl and her confused friend. As time went on the movie ended and the group started chatting. "Can you believe that guy would choose that women over the other one," Rarity said with her arms crossed. "She was wealthier than the first one," Rainbow Dash replied to her. "But still, she was her childhood friend and best choice, but he still went for the rich women, even though they had nothing in common." "It was stupid, right Aria?" Sonata said. "I stopped caring about this movie after five minutes," she responded. "Of course you did. What do you think Adagio?" Sonata asked. She turned to face her leader, but started giggling when she saw what had happened. She elbowed Aria and pointed towards the recliner. Aria turned and also began to giggle. The rest of the girls became confused when they heard Aria giggling. "What are you two giggling at?" Applejack asked. Aria pointed towards the sleeping pony turned human and her siren pillow. The rest of the girls started giggling too. "It's not that funny," Adagio stated as she crossed her arms. "Hey Sunset! You comfortable?" Rainbow shouted from across the room. Sunset began to wake up. She opened her eyes just enough to peer at Rainbow sitting at the other side of the room. She also noticed that the other girls were giggling at her. "What did you say Rainbow?" she asked just loudly enough for Rainbow to hear. "I asked if you were comfortable," Rainbow replied smirking. Sunset closed her eyes again. "Yeah, why?" she asked, starting to fall back asleep. "So you like your pillow?" Sonata asked giggling. Sunset got confused on what she meant. She opened her eyes slightly and looked down at what she was sleeping on. She looked at the purple color and the two limbs they covered. She thought nothing of it and closed her eyes again, but they shot back open when she realized what her purple pillow really was. Her body jerked back up into the sitting position. This made everyone start to laugh, including Adagio. Sunset tried to hide her face as she blushed deep red. "Sorry about that," she said to Adagio. "It's alright, I didn't mind. I hope I was comfortable," Adagio said as she leaned forward and smirked. After the laughter died down each person got ready to leave. They all started to make their ways towards the door, but Sunset was stopped by Adagio. "You are not driving home tonight." "What?" Sunset tiredly asked. "I'm not about to let you drive in your condition." "Adagio, I'm fine I can *yawn* make it home," Sunset told her. "I don't want you to take the risk of falling asleep at the wheel, which is why you'll stay here tonight," Adagio said to her. "Alright Adagio, if you say so." "Sonata!" Adagio called into the house. The blue siren was quickly by her side ready to listen. "Sunset needs to borrow some of your pajamas, she'll be staying here tonight." Sonata quickly dashed off to her room, not long after she returned with a pair of her pajamas. Sunset went into the bathroom and changed, when she came out she made her way to the couch. "Where are you going?" Adagio asked her. "The couch," Sunset replied. "Oh your not sleeping on that old thing, you need a good nights rest. You'll be sharing my bed," Adagio told her as she lead her sleepy friend upstairs. "Why?" "Because my bed is the most comfortable one in the house, besides, you can share a bed with me since you already took a nap on me," Adagio said to her. "Do you have to phrase it like that," Sunset said. Adagio merely laughed and opened her bedroom door. Once inside she went to her bathroom to change. Sunset made her way over to Adagio's bed. She climbed into the far side and laid down. She couldn't help but smile when she felt how comfortable it was. "You were right, your bed is really comfortable," Sunset said to Adagio as she walked out her bathroom. "Only the best," was Adagio's only response. She turned off the light and climbed into the other side of the bed. "Wanna cuddle?" she asked. She felt the bed move as Sunset turned to look at her, but before she could say anything Adagio laughed and said "I'm just kidding, goodnight Sunset." Adagio closed her eyes to go to sleep, but she opened them back up when she felt Sunset cuddle up to her. "What, you asked," Sunset said to her with a smirk that Adagio could see in the darkness. Adagio smirked back. She put her arms around Sunset and pulled her close. She felt Sunset nuzzle her head under Adagio's chin. "Goodnight Sunset." "Goodnight Adagio." They both fell asleep in each others arms. Morning came and Adagio slowly woke up. She began to move but found that she couldn't all to well. She confusingly looked down and saw Sunset still cuddling her. Adagio smiled and carefully moved her arms and Sunset's arms so she could get out of bed. Once free of the cuddling Sunset she went to brush her teeth then go downstairs. When she made her way into the kitchen she expected to see Sonata, since she was always the first one up, but this time it was Aria. "Morning," Aria said to her. "Why are you awake?" Adagio asked her. "Sonata woke me up to play in the snow, but I wanted to have breakfast first," Aria responded to her. Adagio nodded her head and walked over to the coffee maker. She brewed a cup and drank it to wake herself up, she also looked out the window and noticed Sonata running around in the snow. Aria walked over to the machine and filled her mug back up. "So how was cuddling with Sunset last night?" Adagio shot her look. "How do you know about that?" "After she woke me up Sonata went to your room to wake you up. As she opened the door she remembered Sunset was here and was about to close it, but she saw you two cuddling, and she showed me, and I took a photo of it," Aria told her, showing her the pic on her phone. "You two look so comfortable sleeping together." "Just like you and Sonata were on Halloween night," Adagio said smirking. Aria almost dropped her cup from her response. "How do you know about that!" Adagio's response was her pulling out her phone and showing a pic of Aria and Sonata cuddling in bed. "I guess we're even." "Yep, I caught you two the next day when I saw that Sonata wasn't up or in her bed." Adagio said. Aria was about to explain when Sonata busted in from outside. "Come on Ari, let's go build a snow man!" Sonata said joyfully. Aria rolled her eyes. "Fine, let me go change into something warmer though." Sonata dashed back outside and Aria made her way to her room. On the stairs she passed Sunset. The two said good morning and went on their ways. "Good morning Sunset," Adagio said as Sunset entered the kitchen. "Want some coffee?" "Good morning, and yes please," Sunset replied. Adagio poured her a cup and gave it to her. "Thank you." "Your welcome," Adagio said with a smile. She looked back out the window and watched Sonata start to make the base of a snowman. Sunset walked over and joined her at the window. "She's really enjoying the snow, isn't she?" "She always does, and she acts just like a kid when it happens too." Adagio told her. They both looked over and saw Aria walk out and over to Sonata. She sat down next to her and started to help her pat down the snow. "Those two somehow get along so well, despite the fact they annoy each other as well," Sunset said observantly. "They've definitely grown on each other over the years, especially this last year. I don't think Aria would ever admit it to anyone, but Sonata is definitely her best friend," said Adagio. Sunset watched the two mess with the snow. She watched Sonata happily ball it up and throw it at Aria. Aria laughed and threw some back at her. The two then continued to work on the snowman. "I don't think I've ever seen Aria as happy as when it's just them two." "They're both made for each other, friends to the end," Adagio said as she poured another cup of coffee. As the day went on, Sonata and Aria mostly spent the day outside, while Sunset and Adagio spent their day inside. It was getting later in the day when Sunset got a idea. "Wanna go for a walk through the park?" Sunset asked. "Hmm...sure, why not," Adagio responded to her. The two changed and Adagio walked outside to the other two sirens. "Sunset and I are going for a walk, don't kill each other while we're gone." "Whatever Adagio," Aria said to her. Sunset and Adagio made their way out of the house and towards the park. They talked about different things as they walked, commenting on different park sites. About halfway through the park they stopped to sit on a bench. Since it was cold out no one else was in the park, leaving the two to be alone. The snow glistened from the sun setting over the park. Adagio looked over at Sunset, who was looking over the snow covered ground. She saw how the glistening snow reflected in her eyes, her beautiful eyes. Adagio shifted in her seat and spoke up. "Sunset, there's something I want to tell you." Sunset turned to the siren. "What is it?" she asked kindly. "I...want to thank you for helping the three of us. I know we weren't very grateful at first, but we owe you and your friends a lot for what you've done for us." Sunset put her hand on top of Adagios. "Your welcome Adagio, I'm happy I could help you, Sonata, and Aria. Everyone should be given a second chance. I was given one, and the three of you needed to be given one too. I know things were hard at the beginning, but now we're friends, and your my best friend Adagio, I would do anything for you." "You mean it?" Adagio asked. "Of course, I care about you Adagio, I wouldn't want anything to happen to you." "I care about you too Sunset. I care about you a lot, and...I think I've started to care about you as more than a friend..." Sunset started to blush as she went wide eyed. "W-What?" "What I want to say is...I...love you Sunset." Sunset sat there for a couple seconds speechless. When she collected her thoughts, she squeezed Adagio's hand and replied. "Adagio...I love you too." Happiness spread across Adagio's face. "You do?" "Yes, I do love you. Your my best friend, but I want us to be more than friends," Sunset told her. Adagio couldn't contain her excitement. She leaned forward and kissed Sunset. Sunset was initially taken back by the sudden move, but she quickly found herself kissing her back. The two kissed for a little bit before pulling away. They caught a breath and moved closer to each and began to kiss again, but more passionately. Sunset wrapped her arms around Adagio's neck as Adagio wrapped her arms around Sunset's back. Sunset opened her mouth just wide enough for Adagio to slip her tongue in. The two moaned softly as there tongues slid against each other. After a few minutes of passionate kissing they stopped and looked at each other. "Adagio," Sunset said. "Yes Sunset?" "I've finally found the right person," she said before giving Adagio a sweet kiss. "I love you." "I love you too," Adagio responded. The two sat there, with Adagio having her arm around Sunset, bringing her close. After about fifteen minutes of them enjoying each others company they noticed it was getting dark. "Time to head back," Adagio said. "Yeah," Sunset replied to her. The two got up and started walking home, with their hands intertwined. "I wonder how everyone else will react to this?" "Who knows. But no matter what people say, I will still love you Sunny," she said with a loving smile. Sunset smiled back and moved closer to her. "When should we tell the others?" "How about we have everyone come over tomorrow, then we'll announce it, how does that sound?" "Alright, if it works for you, it works for me." They eventually made it back to the house, and Sunset noticed the other two sirens were sitting in the living room. "Should we tell them know or tomorrow?" Sunset asked. "I guess we could do it now," Adagio told her. They both walked into the living room to see the other two resting from a long day of playing in the snow. "Girls, we both have something to tell you two." Both Sonata and Aria turned to look at the new couple. "What we want to say is, Adagio and I are now dating," Sunset told them. Both of the other sirens sat there stunned for a few seconds, before Sonata shot up out of her seat and hugged Sunset. " Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you two!!" Sonata said excitingly. As Sonata was giving Sunset her own hug, Aria walked up to Adagio and smirked and said, "It's about time." Adagio smirked back as Aria gave her a hug. After Sonata was finished giving Sunset a hug she moved over to Adagio. "I can't believe you two are in love, it's so exciting!!" Adagio merely smiled and returned the hug. Aria moved over to Sunset, and to Sunset's surprise, she gave her a hug. "I'm glad to see Adagio found someone to love, and out of all the people, I'm glad it was you." Aria said genuinely. Sunset returned the hug with a smile. "Thank you." After a few discussions, and many hugs from Sonata, Sunset decided it was time for her to leave. Adagio walked with her to the door. "Don't forget, tomorrow we get to tell everyone else about this," Adagio told her. "I know, and I hope they will react as well as those two did," Sunset said. "Well even if they don't, I will still love you." And with that, Adagio kissed her goodbye. The next day came and everyone came to meet at the Dazzling's house. They were confused on what could've come up since they were last there. Adagio and Sunset stood before them in the living room. "We wanted you all here because we want to tell you all something," Adagio announced. "What we want to tell you...is that Adagio and I are dating each other now," Sunset told everyone. Everyone, with the exception of Sonata and Aria, sat there completely stunned by what she said. After a few seconds, Pinkie bounced up in the air then ran up to give Sunset a hug. "CONGRATUALTIONS!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU TWO!!" Pinkie said in the hug. Sunset laughed at Pinkie's excitement and hugged back. Pinkie then gave Adagio a hug, which Adagio hugged her back. "Congratulations darlings," Rarity told the two. "I always thought you two were good together," Applejack stated. After many congratulations and hugs, mostly from Pinkie and once again Sonata, Fluttershy walked over to Adagio. "I guess I wasn't the only one who needed to express their feelings." Adagio giggled at her and replied, "Yeah, I guess you wasn't." Eventually the excitement boiled down and everyone got ready to leave. With a few more congratulations and hugs they all left, with the exception of Sunset, who was spending the night again. That evening Aria went outside to the yard and sat down in one of the yard chairs. She was looking at the moon when she heard the door open to the house. "Ari, what are you doing?" Sonata asked her. "Just enjoying this winter evening," she replied. "Can I join you?" "Sure, why not," Aria replied. Sonata started to look for another seat, but Aria had scooted over to make room on hers. Sonata sat down beside her and looked up at the moon. After a few minutes Sonata cuddled up to Aria. "What are you doing?" "Your warm...and soft," Sonata replied. Aria simply rolled her eyes and continued to enjoy the night weather. "So, what do you think of Sunny and Dagi being together?" "I saw it coming, and if Adagio is happy with her, then it's fine," Aria said. "Ari...do you think I would have a chance of finding true love, like Adagio?" Sonata asked. Aria looked down at the blue siren. "What?" "Do you think I'll find someone who will truly love me? That they will love me even though I'm not that smart, or pretty?" Aria pulled Sonata close to her. "Of course you will Sonata. You are smart, and your very pretty. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there that would easily fall in love with you. And I hope you do find someone." "You do?" "Of course I do. I want you to be happy Sonata." Aria said genuinely. Sonata looked up to her and smiled. "Thank you Ari, your the bestest friend anyone could ever have." Aria smiled back down to her. She noticed how the moon reflected in her eyes. Aria had to admit to herself that Sonata was cute, adorably cute, and very pretty. She felt her heartbeat quicken as she looked Sonata in the eyes. She looked away as she felt a blush form on her face. Sonata hadn't noticed though, as she had snuggled back up to Aria. Time passed on and Aria had noticed that Sonata had fallen asleep. She picked up Sonata and carried her into the house. Thankfully Adagio and Sunset weren't downstairs, so Aria could make it to Sonata's room undisturbed. She carefully opened the door to the bedroom and turned on the light. She took off Sonata's winter jacket and boots and laid her in the bed. She tucked her in, turned off the light, and left the room. She got to her room, changed, and got in bed. She laid there and thought about what happened outside. She thought to herself about her discussion about love with the Sonata and how looking at her eyes and being that close had an effect of her. She couldn't have a crush on Sonata, could she? > Valentine's day surprise > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria sat in the living room on the couch, thinking about the past few weeks. Some time has passed since Sunset and Adagio started dating, and in that time Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had come out and told everyone they had been secretly dating for awhile. Aria wasn't surprised though, since she had a hunch that the two of them liked each other. She always did have a special gift about reading people's emotions and being able to tell who liked who. Even though she could understand other people's emotions, she couldn't understand her own. Ever since that night she cuddled with Sonata outside, Aria had been confused on how she felt about the blue siren. She's never cared for anyone before, so why did she feel the way she did when the two were together? Aria wanted answers, and she knew just the person to ask. She snapped back into reality when she heard Sunset call her name. When she turned around she saw Sunset walking down the stairs. "Hey Aria," Sunset said with a smile. "Hey Sunset," Aria replied with her usual monotone hello. "Have you seen Adagio? When I got up she was gone," Sunset asked her. "She went out for groceries. She wanted to get it done with today while you were asleep." "Oh, ok," Sunset told her. "Where's Sonata?" "Still asleep. She stayed up really late last night playing video games," Aria informed her. Sunset giggled at her response and headed for the kitchen, but Aria spoke up before she could go in. "Hey Sunset, wanna go down to Sugarcube Corner for a drink, instead of drinking the coffee here?" Sunset turned around and looked at her with a confused look. She wouldn't be surprised if Sonata wanted to go there with her, but she never thought Aria would. "Sure, why not. Want me to text Adagio to meet us there?" "No, I don't want her to be there, or Sonata," Aria told her. Now Sunset was really confused. She now had a feeling that there was more to this than Aria was letting onto. As the two headed for the door Sunset asked, "Your not asking me out, are you?" "No! Of course not. I'm not interested in you. Besides, Adagio would kill me if I was," Aria said, shuddering at the thought of a furious Adagio. "Just checking," Sunset said to her. The two of them walked down the street. It was quiet between the two of them, but Sunset could see that something was troubling Aria. They eventually made it to Sugarcube Corner. When they got in, they picked a booth and ordered their drinks. "Sunset, there's something I want to ask you," Aria said, breaking the silence. "What is it?" Sunset asked kindly. "How did you know you loved Adagio?" she asked. Sunset was a little taken back by the question. Out of all the things to ask about, she never would have guessed Aria would ask about her something like that. Sunset took a drink and replied, "It's kind of hard to explain, but when Adagio told me that she loved me, I knew I also loved her." "How did you know that she was the right one?" "I cared about her a lot, and it grew to where I cared about her as more than just a friend," Sunset told her purple friend. "You know you love someone when you care about them more than anyone else, and that your willing to sacrifice anything for them." Aria thought about her words and looked at her cup. She did care about Sonata, more than anyone else. "Why did you want to know?" Sunset now asked her. "I think...I'm also in love with someone," Aria replied to her, blushing slightly. Sunset looked at her wide eyed, she never thought the day would come when Aria Blaze would admit she loved someone. "If you don't mind me asking, who is it?" "Promise you won't judge?" "I promise," Sunset told her. "It's...Sonata," Aria said, her blush becoming darker. Sunset sat there, taking in her response. She always wondered why the two of them got along so well, and now the mystery was solved. "Your in love with Sonata?" Aria nodded her head and looked at her drink. "I don't know how, but I love her." "That's really sweet Aria," Sunset said with a smile. "But I don't know how to tell her? She thinks of me as her best friend, but what if she doesn't want to be more than that?" Aria asked. "I'm sure she loves you too Aria. The two of you are inseparable," Sunset said to her helpfully. Aria smiled back at Sunset. "Thank you Sunset, I knew you would know what to say." "Your welcome Aria," Sunset smiled back to her. "I knew you would have a soft spot for something, who knew it would be Sonata." "Please don't tell anyone about this, even Adagio. I don't want her knowing just yet," Aria requested of her. "Alright Aria, I won't tell anyone. You need to tell Sonata soon though." "I know, I just don't know when." Sunset though for a couple minutes before getting a idea. "Why don't you ask her to the Valentines dance at my school next week." "I don't know about that, we're not even welcomed there." "Adagio is going with me, and it would be a shame if you two had to stay home during it," Sunset said to her. "But what about the other people? I'm sure they wouldn't be happy to see us," Aria asked. "You know how Adagio is, she doesn't care what they say, and she's right. The three of you have changed, and it's time others saw that," Sunset replied to her. "Alright, I'll do it," Aria said to her. The two of them continued on with their conversation until Aria felt her phone go off in her pocket. She pulled it out to see that Adagio was calling. "Hello." "Where are you?" Adagio asked her. "I'm getting a drink with your girlfriend," Aria replied to her. "Why?" "I wanted to hang out with her. What's the matter, jealous?" Aria joked with her. "No, but can you bring her back home now?" "Yes puffball, we'll be home soon," Aria said, hanging up her phone. "Your girlfriend wants you home." Sunset giggled at this and the two got up to leave. "Puffball?" "Her hair looks like a big ball of fluff." "I guess it kinda does, but I like it. It's really soft," Sunset said to her. "I'll take your word for it," Aria told her. They both walked back to the house and found Adagio waiting for them. "About time," she said. "Oh Adagio, don't be so grumpy," Sunset said, walking up to her. "You don't have to be so jealous." "I'm not jealous," Adagio said with crossed arms. Sunset merely giggled at her before giving her a kiss on the cheek. "You two are weird," Aria said, walking away. She was making her way to her room when she heard a door open and Sonata pop out from the room. "Hey Ari," Sonata said. "Hey Sonata, did you have a good rest?" "Yeah, I don't think I'm going to try another late nighter like that again." Aria gave a small smile at her before turning back to go to her room. She went inside her room, but noticed that Sonata had followed her in. "So what have you been doing?" Sonata asked her. "I just got back from Sugarcube Corner with Sunset," Aria told her. "With Sunset? Shouldn't Adagio be doing that?" "We were just hanging out." "Alrighty, if you say so," Sonata said. She turned to leave the room but Aria stopped her. "Wait Sonata, I want to ask you something." "What is it Ari?" Sonata asked her. "Do you know about the Valentines dance at Sunset's school?" "Yeah I do, Adagio told me that she's going with Sunset to it. I think it's really romantic that they are," Sonata responded to her. "Well, would you want to go...with me?" Aria asked her. Sonata took a breath. "For realzies?" she asked. "Yes..." Sonata joyfully hugged Aria. "Of course I will. Best friends go to everything together." Aria hugged her back. "Yeah...best friends..." she said to herself sadly. Later that day, in a different part of town, Rarity was working on a dress that she had started working on a couple of days ago. As she worked, Sweetie Bell entered the room. "Rarity?" Sweetie asked. "What is it darling?" "Are you going with anyone to the dance at school next week?" "No darling, everyone that has asked me were people I didn't want to go with," she stated to her little sister. "Is there anyone you would want to go with?" Sweetie also asked her. Rarity pondered her question for a few moments. "I don't think so, there aren't to many guys at school that I would consider going with." "What about going with a girl?" Rarity stopped what she was doing and looked at her sister. "I've never thought about that. I've never been interested in girls before." "Do you think there's any girls interested in you?" Sweetie asked her. "I don't think so darling. The only girls I know that are interested in other girls already have girlfriends." "Would you ever date a girl?" "I...believe I would be up for it, only if the other girl was just right for me," Rarity said to her as she went back to her work. "Would you date someone like Applejack?" "If there was a girl out there interested in me with the personality of Applejack, I definitely would." "Do you think Applejack is interested in you?" "I doubt it darling, we're best friends. We spend a lot of time together, we eat lunch together a lot, she buys me different things from time to time, she says she loves to spend time with, she-" Rarity cut herself short as the reality of the situation hit her like a ton of bricks. Sweetie Bell merely smiled as she witnessed her sister figure everything out. Rarity then dropped what she was doing and ran out the door to her car. She got in and started to drive towards the Apple farm. She thought to herself about how blind she had been. How did she not notice it before. She soon made it to the farm and saw Granny Smith sitting on the porch. "Howdy there Rarity, I didn't know you was going to be visiting tonight," Granny said to her. "Hi Granny. Is Applejack here, I really need to talk to her," Rarity said quickly. "She's up in her room, just knock on her door," Granny said with a smile. "Thank you Granny," Rarity said as she rushed into the house. She quickly ran upstairs and went to Applejack's room. She knocked on the door and waited for it to open. Applejack walked over to her door, expecting to see Applebloom or Big Mac, but she was quite surprised to see Rarity on the other side. "Rarity? Why are you-" she started to say, but was cut off by Rarity giving her a hug. "I'm so sorry Applejack! I should've seen it sooner!" Rarity told her as she began to cry. Applejack carefully guided her into her room and sat with her on the bed. She did her best to comfort Rarity as she cried. "What do you mean Rares? What happened?" "I'm so sorry Applejack, I wish I had noticed sooner," Rarity said to her between tears. "Noticed what?" "Your true feelings," Rarity said to her. Applejack was taken back by what she said, but before she could reply, Rarity spoke back up. "I can't imagine what you've been feeling, I'm so sorry I've been ignoring them, you must think I don't like you." "It's alright Rarity. I will admit, I do like you...a lot, but you shouldn't put yourself down just because you didn't see it. You've had other stuff on your mind, I can't blame you for that." "But your more important to me, your feeling should've been more important to me." "It's alright. Ya know now, and that's what's important," Applejack told her with a smile. Rarity smiled back and cleared some of the tears from her face. "I also came to tell you...that your feelings have been returned." Applejack sat there surprised by what she had said. "You mean?" "I love you too Applejack," Rarity said to her. Now it was Applejack's turn to cry, this time it was tears of joy. She hugged Rarity tightly as she cried. "I love you Rarity." After a few minutes of hugging and happy crying, the two parted. "Does this mean you'll want to go with me to that dance this week?" "Absolutely darling, I will go anywhere with you," Rarity replied to her. The two of them hugged again and talked about their new relationship, and continued to until they fell asleep together on the bed. The day had officially come for the Valentines dance, and Sunset was excited. She pulled up to the Dazzling's house to pick up her date and the other two. She knocked on the door and waved at Sonata when she answered it. "Hi Sonata," she said with a smile. "Hi Sunset! You look really pretty tonight," Sonata said to her as she walked in. "Thank you, so do you. I really like your dress." "Thank you, Rarity helped me pick it out yesterday," Sonata said to her. The two of them turned to see Aria walk down the stairs. "Hi Aria, you look really pretty," Sunset said to her. "Thank you, although I'm not big on dresses," Aria replied to her. "But you look beautiful in it Ari," Sonata said to her. "Thank you Sonata, you look really pretty too." Sonata giggled at this. "I'm going to go check on Adagio," she said as she went up the stairs. Sunset turned to Aria. "You two look really cute together." Aria blushed at what she said. "Thanks." "Are you going to tell her how you really feel tonight?" Sunset asked. "I plan on it," Aria replied back to her. Sonata came rushing back downstairs to announce that Adagio was coming. The other two looked up the stairs to see Adagio slowly walk down. Sunset stood amazed as she watched her walk down. "You look beautiful." "Thank you Sunset. So do you," she said with a smile. The four of them commented on each before making there way out of the house and into the car. When they arrived at the school Sunset and Adagio approached the school, but Sonata hung back. "Ari, are you sure this is a good idea?" she asked nervously. "Don't worry Sonata, if anything happens, I'll be there for you," Aria told her confidently. When the four of them entered the main room for the dance many looks were shot their way. One of them being from Trixie, who walked up to the four of them. "Hello Sunset," she said with all her pompous attitude. "Hello Trixie," Sunset replied, already not liking the conversation. "May I ask what they are doing here?" Trixie asked, pointing to the sirens. "I invited them. And Adagio is with me," Sunset stated proudly. Trixie stood there shocked. "You two are together!?" "Yes. We are. Got a problem with that?" Adagio said with a sinister tone. Trixie looked at the siren leader and felt fear rise in her. "*gulp*No! Of course not! Enjoy the dance," she said as she quickly walked away. "See girls, not so bad," Adagio said to the other two. The four of them were making there way further into the room, when Adagio heard a small group of people on the side say some rude comments about her and Sunset. Adagio shot them a look that could kill, making the group shut up and move away. Adagio was happy to have fear on her side tonight. "Well look who's here." The four of them turned to see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy walking up to them. "Hey Dash, glad to see you two here," Sunset said to them. "I could think of a couple things better than this dance to be doing, but I'm here for Fluttershy," Rainbow said to them. "You girls look really pretty this evening," Fluttershy complimented to them. "Thank you Flutteshy. So do you two," Adagio responded to her. "Howdy ya'll." Everyone turned to see AJ and Rarity walking up to them. "Hey Applejack, Rarity. Did you guys just get here?" Rainbow asked them. "Yes, I was helping Applejack with her dress before we came here," Rarity told them all. "I'm happy to see that you three made it," Applejack said to the Dazzlings. "I hope no one gives you any trouble." "If they do, I'll give them a piece of my mind," Rainbow said, cracking her knuckles. "No need to worry about that Rainbow, I've got it covered," Adagio told her. "If anyone has any sense in them, they'll know not to cross Adagio," Aria stated. "What about you two?" Fluttershy asked. "I don't care what anyone says about me, but they won't hurt Sonata," Aria responded to her, cracking her own knuckles like Rainbow did. The group continued to talk until some dance music began to play. Fluttershy asked Rainbow if they could go sit and watch, which Rainbow happily obliged. "Care to dance Rarity?" Applejack asked. "Of course darling," Rarity responded back, and the two of them walked over to a open spot. Adagio smirked and put her arms around Sunset. "Do you wanna dance?" she asked. "If it means being close to you, then definitely," Sunset replied, and the two made their way to a open spot on the dance floor. This left Sonata and Aria standing by themselves. Sonata hummed to the slow music as she thought about asking Aria if she would want to. Before she could she heard Pinkie say her name from the drink and food table. "I'm going to go talk to Pinkie," she told Aria. "Alright," Aria responded as Sonata walked towards her pink haired friend. Aria stood and watched the dancers on the floor. She went from couple to couple, watching them dance. She watched Applejack and Rarity smile at each other and talk as they danced. She wasn't surprised when they announced that were together, and she still wasn't surprised. She then looked over at Sunset and Adagio. Adagio's hair made them stand out among the other dancers. She watched how happy the two of them were together. She also saw some people giving them odd looks, one them being Flash Sentry, who was currently standing off to the side alone. She groaned to herself when she saw that Flash noticed her and that he was walking towards her. "Hey...Aria wasn't it?" he said to her. "What do you want?" Aria said in a very unpleasant tone. "I was just wondering if Sunset and your leader, were, together?" he asked. "Yes. They are. Got a problem with that?" she said annoyed. "No no, I was just wondering, that's all," he said quickly. He was about to try to start a conversation, but Aria shot him a look that meant go away or die. He took the warning and walked away. Aria was starting to not like being there. She wanted to be away from the people. She spotted a opening on the other side of the room that led outside. She made her way over towards it, passing people who shot her different looks, some of confusion and others of hate. She didn't care though, as she soon made her way outside and into the night air. She felt more comfortable now, since she was away from everybody. She saw that a path was made from the school to a gazebo. She walked to it and leaned against the railing, staring up at the moon. She was enjoying the piece and quiet until she heard someone walking down the path. She turned expecting to deal with some idiot from the school, but she quickly turned calm again when she saw that it was Sonata. "Hey Ari, what are you doing out here?" Sonata asked. "I wanted to get away from the people, lucky for me there's a gazebo out here. Want to join me?" Sonata happily nodded and made her way over beside her, also leaning against the railing. "Adagio looks like she's having a good time." "Of course she is. If Sunset's happy, she's happy." Aria stated to her. "I hope no one tries to give either of them trouble, like Trixie tried to," Sonata said to her. "I think everyone is smart enough not to give Sunset any trouble when Adagio is around, but if they do, they'll learn quickly what a upset Adagio can do," Aria said with a smile. "Yeah. And I don't have to worry, cause I have you," Sonata said, poking Aria in the arm. "Yeah, that's true," Aria responded to her. She looked over at Sonata, and took in just how beautiful she looked tonight. She also noticed how the moon perfectly reflected in her eyes. "Sonata...there's something I need to confess to you." Sonata turned to her friend. "What is it Ari?" Aria took a hold of Sonata's hands and looked her in the eyes. "I want to confess to you...that I love you Sonata..." Sonata squeezed Aria's hands. "You...love me?" "Yes, I love you Sonata. I've been in love with you for awhile, but I didn't know how to say it. So, will you be with me here at this dance as not your best friend, but as your girlfriend?" Aria genuinely asked her. Sonata responded by throwing her arms around Aria's neck and kissing her passionately. Aria quickly started kissing her back, and putting her arms around her. Once they parted, Sonata responded with all the love in her heart, "Yes, absolutely yes! I love you too Ari!" They both kissed each other again, then turned back to look at the moon, with Aria's arm around Sonata. The music eventually stopped, and the dancing couples made their ways around the room. Sunset and Adagio walked over towards the window, to be further away from the other people. Sunset was looking out the window, when she noticed something. She nudged Adagio and pointed towards Aria and Sonata in the gazebo. They both watched the two stand next to each other closely, before they gave each other a loving kiss. "Well, well, well, would you look at that. The two idiots are in love," Adagio said with a smile. "They both look so happy," Sunset said. "I guess them coming here was a good idea." "Is what's happening out there the reason why Aria wanted to get coffee with you?" Adagio asked. "Yeah, it was," Sunset said with a smile. "I gave her the idea of bringing Sonata here, and I'm happy to see that she expressed her feelings." Adagio smiled and pulled Sunset over to her. She gave her a kiss before saying, "I love you." "I love you too," Sunset replied to her.
