Really, who writes a story about my adventure in saving a bunch of ponies from ice and dangerous ponies who froze them in the first place... really who even includes the part about me being- nope... not finishing that sentence...
”There are those who are warm...”
”...and there are those who are cold...”
”...and this is one such tale of the warmth, and the cold...”
Ok I’m just going to start off by saying who the heck thought it was a good idea to write a story about me and bunch of ponies saving other ponies from ice from an evil group of other ponies who were banished, of course in all reality they were hidden all over the place, and sure they were from the past, but was it a good idea... sure if somepony else was there and I was them, I would have sent my friends on their merry way and say ‘they’ll be fine,’ and then I would pack my bags, show the princesses my favorite feather, and make like horse apples and leave. But they’re not me, and I’m not horse apples, no sir, I am the very definition of a good friend, so it was all up to me to get to the bottom of that madness... I just wish somepony didn’t write a story about it...
Sex tag for sexual references, and possible things for later chapters... maybe, though nothing too serious.
Very minor gore scenes, maybe a few slightly gorier scenes, but other than that, pretty clean.
OC’s used are mostly made by me, other characters from the show do not belong to me, any other OC’s that are not mine belong to other people and will be credited if they wanted their OC in here.
“Ugh.. is there any good book here in the library,” I was looking around, I spotted a few books here and there, but what really caught my eyes was that looked half frozen half unfrozen, the title read, ‘The Frozen Conquest. Written by Sean F. Locket.’
“Hmm... sure, why not,” though what caught me off guard was who the heck was Sean F. Locket.
“Hey there kid,” a library assistant called out from one of the tables.
“You got a good read right there, a fine story that is,” he said, his hair was highlighted a forest green at the tips, and was slightly scruffy.
“Really, what’s it about,” I asked.
“That’s for you to figure out,” he said, getting up and walking off towards the back of the library.
“Hmm... I guess I should read it, seems like a good story from just looking at it,” I pulled the book open...
Ponies... we roam almost everywhere, and we come in all different shapes, colors, species, sizes, and even personalities.
There are those who would rather see the world as it is, nice, peaceful, and best of all, warm and happy... but then there are those who would rather see the world freeze and perish.
A long, long, long time ago, the princesses encountered a legion of ponies named, ‘The Frozen Flames,’ who would freeze ponies and lock them away.
The princesses needed to stop them at all cost, or suffer more frozen ponies in ice.
They indeed managed to stop them, and banish them, but they never found out where they hid the ponies, not until recently...
I, including my ‘friends’, were heading towards the old castle of the two royal sisters, where we would find the Elements of Harmony, defeat Nightmare Moon, and hopefully save all of Equestria from eternal night.
“Come on now y'all, she needs to concentrate,” Applejack said, as everypony else walked out of the castle. I was left to focus my magic on the Elements, when something threw me off my concentration.
“Ahh,” I shouted in fear, as the Elements were being held by a blue foggy haze that was flying around the Elements.
“Twilight,” I heard my ‘friends’ outside scream.
The blue haze began to lift up the Elements, as it was about to teleport away.
“The Elements,” I said, as I jumped into the funnel that the blue haze was creating. With that, we both teleported away. After teleporting, I was at the end of a very large room. On the other side was none other than Nightmare herself, in her grasp, were the Elements. I felt dread and uneasiness inside me, but I didn't want to show it, I knew I needed to stay calm, or at least look calm.
Nightmare’s maniacal laugh sounded through the castle, lightning crashed, as the room seemed to get slightly colder and darker. A cool fog appeared out of the blue, making my skin crawl, as I felt a chill run up my spine.
I prepared myself to charge at her in full gallop, striking my hoof into the ground and blowing hot air out of my nose.
“Your kidding… your kidding, right” Nightmare said, almost tauntingly.
I began to glow my horn, preparing a spell, as I charged straight for her, my horn could be heard humming as it began to surge with magical energy. Nightmare also started to gallop towards me, at full charge no less, as we began getting closer, my horn began lighting up brighter as I teleported before we collided. I reappeared next to the Elements. I almost let out a sigh of relief before I realized that I still had to activate the Elements.
“Just a spark,” I said, glowing my horn. I tried with more power, but nothing was happening, I was failing.
“Come on, come on.”
I finally got something on the Elements, though before I could get anything else, I was flung back as I was shocked by the Elements. When I looked at the Elements I saw that they were charging.
“No, no,” Nightmare screamed.
I smiled as I looked on to see what was going to happen… only to find that the Elements had stopped charging.
“*gasp,* but where's the sixth Element,” I asked, as Nightmare’s maniacal laugh sounded through the room. Before I knew it, Nightmare shattered the Elements into tiny shards, leaving only dust and small shards of gems. I sat there, aghast, at what had happened.
“You little foul, thinking you could defeat me,” Nightmare shouted, “now you will never see your princess or your sun! The night will last forever!”
She laughed more and more. I heard voices from behind me begin speaking, the realization couldn't hit me any harder as I felt a spark ignite inside me.
“You think you can destroy the Elements of Harmony, just like that?! Well your wrong, because the spirits of the Elements of Harmony are right here,” I shouted, as my friends were right by my side.
“What,” she shouted, unsure of what to make of the situation.
“Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of Honesty,” some of the shards of gems began to float around Applejack, as they formed a neckless…
“Fluttershy, who tamed the manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of Kindness,” the same thing happened with Fluttershy…
“Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of Laughter,” as well as Pinkie…
“Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift, represents the spirit of Generosity,” and Rarity…
“And Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire, represents the spirit of Loyalty,” and Rainbow, “The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.”
“You still don't have the sixth Element! The Spark didn't work,” Nightmare shouted, she was beginning to look uneasy.
“But it did work. A different kind of spark,” I said, my confidence was returning at last, I looked back at my friends, “I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you, how much I cared about you.”
“The spark ignited inside me when I realized that you all are my friends,” I was beaming with joy as I finally found the answer.
“You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the… the spark that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth Element. The Element of Magic,” I shouted, as the last Element appeared, and floated down towards me, creating a tiara instead of a necklace, me and my friends began floating up, as we began to glow with magical power. With that we fired a beam straight at Nightmare Moon.
“No, NOOOOO,” Nightmare screamed, as the beam overtook her entirely. We passed out as the deed was done, and Nightmare Moon was defeated, saving Equestria from eternal darkness.
In the depths of the castle ruins… a dense fog flows out of a room… the feeling could send chills up even a monster’s spine… one hundred-twenty lay frozen over in wait for help… but none know of their locations… the fog flows around the castle waiting to find anything… in due time it found something.
“Ugh… my head.”
It had found other ponies that were there, they look like they've just been through Tartarus and back, but they were just fine, in fact they looked like they were congratulating. Eventually another bigger pony showed up, and there was a smaller dark blue pony near this other one. They could help… they can help… they… will… help…
I felt a chill run up my spine, as the room seemingly got colder, it was enough to make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Nopony else seemed to have noticed, as we saw the princesses talking to each other. We were already leaving the castle, heading back to Ponyville, I didn't want to go back to Canterlot, so the princess let me stay in Ponyville. I had to find something on what happened at the castle. After going to the library, I stayed up and read up on the castle and the ‘chill’.
“Hmm, there's nothing on something that might've led to that chill… I guess I'm just going to have to find out for myself,” I said, getting up from my chair, only for me to fall down and fall asleep.
‘Help them… save them… one hundred-twenty lay frozen in wait… they need you… go… and help…’
I was somewhere, I couldn't tell where I was, all I could see was white void, the symbol of a open, creative and knowledgeable mind. I had heard a voice say something, but there was nopony else there.
My voice rang through the void of nothing, as a rumble shouted around me. Out of the ground came out statues on pedestals, all of them colored, and pony shaped, every single one of them was different, whether it be color, shape, gender, style, and clothing, they were all in there own way, different from one another.
The statues looked frozen in place, a shocked expression on each of their faces, you could see the fear in most of their eyes, they were in columns of ten, and rows of twelve… one hundred-twenty…
I remembered what the voice said, ‘one hundred-twenty lay frozen in wait.’
“So these are the ponies that voice was talking about… but what did it mean by ‘frozen,’ yes, I see that these ponies are frozen here like statues, but are they frozen in stone or ice?! Ugh, this just makes it worse!”
I sat down on my haunches, as I began to stress out, how was I going to save one hundred-twenty ponies when I don't even know where to start. I began crying, I couldn't do anything at the moment, I was failing.
“No need to fret.”
“No need to cry.”
I felt a comforting hoof lay on my shoulder, I felt warmth around my body, I was being hugged.
I looked up and saw two ponies, one was hugging me, the other had their hoof on my shoulder. I saw that two of the pedestals that had ponies on them, were empty, those ponies were right here, calming me down. I sat there and marveled in the feeling.
“No need to worry…”
“We're here to help.”
I felt two more give me comfort, as more and more ponies came to help me out of my stress.
“You can do it, we know you can…”
“You are all we have left.”
“We need you more than ever…”
“Till the very end of our days…”
“Till death do us part, we will be together as a team, as friends, as a family…”
I felt the warmth of one hundred-nineteen ponies, though there was still one more.
“You are our only hope, so will you help us,” the last on to speak was a stallion, he was forest green almost everywhere, the only thing that was not green was almost all of his mane and tail, which were mostly black. He struck an almost familiarity to me, where have I seen him before...
“Yes… yes I will!”
They all looked at me and smiled, they stood up and all said, “Thank you…” before fading away into nothing, except one, the green stallion, was still there, “for everything,” is all that he said, before walking off, and fading away.
‘You will find us when you know your heart’s ready… go now… we will be waiting, Twilight…’
I heard the voice once more… only it was a different voice…
‘Go… find them…’
Then the other voice said something once more.
“But where do I start?!”
‘You should know by now what that ‘chill’ was…’
I remembered the chill, so they're at the castle… time to go find out myself…
‘However they aren't so easy to find as you may think…’
I wasn't really reassured with that statement, but none the less I still had to save some ponies
“Now how do I-”
“*Gasp,*” I gasped, as I was abruptly awoken, I was heavily breathing and sweating, I looked like a mess…
“How many more times am I going to get interrupted before I finish my sentences…”
“Ugh… what time is it,” I looked outside to see its sunrise, I had slept through an entire day.
“Right, I need to help Applejack later tomorrow with her apples, but first, I need to-” I was cut off by me falling off my bed and smacking my face into the ground, after that I lazily walked down the stairs, before I also fell down them, hitting my head once more.
“Why is it so difficult to wake up in the morning…” I asked nopony in particular, as spike had a cup of tea ready in his hands. I smiled and grabbed the tea in my magic.
“Thanks Spike, what would I do without you.”
“Probably not make any friends, have all of Equestria fall into darkness, and possibly fall down constantly thanks to you leaving books everywhere.” I giggled at the last one.
“And that's why your my number one assistant,” I said, sipping on my tea, and eating a sandwich, that Spike left for me on the counter.
I prepared to head out to the castle before anypony found out what I was doing, I just had to head over there and then I'll be done.
“Alright Spike, I'm heading out, take care of the library for me, alright,” I asked him, grabbing an extra book just incase I needed it. A simple spell book for combat purposes.
“Sure Twilight, be safe,” I nodded, and headed out for the Everfree. The way there was more than calm, nopony was usually out at this time, which was a relief seeing as I wanted to not be seen by anypony, though I did get some nice hi’s, hello’s, and waves, but minus that, I was in the clear.
“Alright, lets get this over with,” I looked into the forest, this was not gong to be easy, I gulped audibly, as I stepped into the forest, looming darkness passing over me.
The trek there was uneventful, nothing dangerous, nothing wanting to eat me. As fast as it was, I had made it to the castle of the two sisters, where I would find the ponies. The air around the castle felt colder as I approached it, the feeling of dread looming over me, I couldn't feel any more uncertain about coming here, but those ponies needed my help, and I was going to help them, and nothing will be stopping me from helping these ponies. The cold air felt like I was far north, and even the ground was frozen with ice and frost, walls were covered in ice layers, and old vines frozen with icicles hanging from them.
(Unbeknownst to the mare, the words ‘The Frozen Castle Ruins,’ were above her head.)
“It seems this is a game of hot or cold, only this time, the colder I am, the closer I'll be,” I felt a stream of wind catch my back, it sent shivers down my spine.
“Let's just hope I won't freeze to death, those ponies need my help,” I took a step into the castle. The entire place looked like a blizzard had passed through it, pillars that had fallen to the ground were covered in snow and ice spikes, windows, or what's left of them, had been replaced with sheets of ice, the ground however was the least affected, it had snow and frost all over it, but no ice, so maneuvering in there wasn't a problem.
“It seems like this ways where the ponies are,” I felt a colder wind coming from deeper inside the castle, most likely the dungeons. I had also brought a thermometer with me, the air was getting to below zero.
I walked down the staircase, every step feeling colder than the last, it even got darker, to the point where I needed a light spell. As I came to the bottom, it lead into a large hallway, not as large as Canterlot Castle, but close enough, though the air was beginning to thin, and my breath began visibly showing, I knew I was close. The Thermometer showed 34 degrees Fahrenheit below zero.
“Alright, lets go-” I was cut off by a maniacal laughter.
“Who's there, show yourself,” I shouted, my voice echoing in the large hall, that seemingly got wider. Nopony responded, the only thing to come out was a large rumble.
“*ROAR,*” a loud roar shouted around me, as it shook the ground, with icicles raining from above me.
“Ahhh,” I shouted, as I almost dodged the falling ice. The book in my hold was thrown out of the way, and landed somewhere I couldn't see. The air felt like it was liquefying at this point, or at least it looked like it, the air even felt like it was freezing.
“Hey Applejack, you seen Twilight anywhere, I checked her library but she wasn't there,” I asked, I was just finishing up my awesome flying stunts when I wanted to go bug Twilight, yet she wasn't there at her library.
“No, actually haven't seen her since the whole Nightmare Moon incident, I wonder where she could be,” Applejack wondered, I felt a chill run trough my body, the air also felt colder.
“Hey is it just me or is it getting colder,” I asked, the air did feel colder, ice cold, maybe it had to do with Twilight.
“Yeah, now that you mention it, it does feel colder, and I think Twilight's the reason behind it, lets go see where she's gone off to,” she said, heading off to Ponyville.
“Right,” I flew off, almost losing balance thanks to the icy cold air.
I was looking up at what made the roar, a large ice serpent, its eyes a light blue, shining like gems, it's entire body was almost like ice, crystalline clear, and the worst part, it breathed frost air that glowed a bright blue. Even starring at it made my mind freeze up at just the sight. The ice serpent, went to attack me, first swinging its tail around trying to slam me into the wall. I dodged, however, it got a lucky hit whenever it smashed me upward.
“Agh,” I groaned as I slammed into the ceiling, causing me to leave a Twilight shaped hole.
“There's got to be a better way of doing this,” my voice was muffled thanks to the ceiling. I fell to the floor and landed on my hooves, struggling to get up.
‘Aid is on its way, but in the mean time, we’ll help.’
As soon as I heard that, I felt a new power surge through me body.
“Alright, let’s do this,” I said, letting what ever happened take it course. The serpent went to attach me again, I dodged and parried it, hitting my hoof into its back, causing it to crack.
The serpent looked angry, very angry, even its eyes showed anger.
“Twilight?!” I heard some ponies scream, it was my friends. How did they find out that I was here?
“Hey has anypony seen Twilight,” I shouted, I was flying around, looking for anypony who knew where Twilight was.
“You looking for Twilight,” somepony asked.
“Yeah, you know where she went,” I asked.
“Yep, she looked like she was heading into the Everfree,” they said.
“Thanks, now to go find-”
“*ROAR*” a loud roar shouted from the Everfree Forest, it shook the ground, and knocked some branches off the trees. The air only got colder, as frost began to build up.
“Rainbow! You find out where Twilight went,” Applejack asked, as our other friends, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie were here as well.
“Yeah, she's in the Everfree Forest, and if you heard that roar, then you know that it came from the Everfree, Twilight needs our help,” I said, as they all nodded, we headed off towards the direction of the castle of the two sister the cold air getting colder every inch closer we got to the castle.
“Look there it is,” I shouted, the castle was completely covered in ice, snow and frost.
“Come on, we got to hurry,” Applejack said, as we all headed inside.
“*ROAR*” another roar shouted around us, but it was much louder and closer. It seemed to have been coming from deeper inside the castle. We ran down the flight of stairs, going deeper into the darkness and coldness, our breath began to be visibly shown. My body couldn't be any colder, but knowing Twilight needed our help, it helped me out of the coldness. We saw Twilight fight an ice serpent, it seemed angry by the fact it had been hit in the obvious spot on its back.
“Twilight?!” We shouted, as Twilight dodged an attach and parried it, only to be hit by its head. She got knocked back towards us, she grunted as she tried to get up.
“Okay, new plan, whoever you are that's helping me, can you help them as well,” I said, dodging the tail attack it tried to pull on me.
‘Sure… friends of yours… are friends of ours.’
My friends eyes widened as the power affected them as well, ‘hurry though... this won't last too long... and he's still there... parry!’
I stepped out of the way, grabbed its head that it used to try and hit me with and smashed my hoof into its head, causing it to crack, an ‘Hp’ bar appeared above its head, health points maybe?
“Heya… take that you icy good for nothing serpent,” I shouted as I shoved another punch into its head, as I was right, the ‘Hp’ bar did stand for health points. I ducked as somepony flew over me and slammed into its neck sending it spiraling to the floor. Rainbow just body slammed into it, leaving a very big mark on its neck.
“*ROAR,*” it roared causing icicles to fall, everypony scattered, running in different directions trying not get skewered by the falling ice.
“Take this you ruffian,” Rarity shouted as she tried to stab the thing with her horn, with magical assistance of course, and she managed to break through, leaving a huge hole in its neck.
Pinkie just jumped into its face distracting it from us, she actually managed to get the thing into a knot, thus cracking it even further, until it broke into two pieces, only for it to become two separate serpents with its health split in half.
“Dash, you, Pinkie, and Rarity take care of that one, Applejack, and Fluttershy, your with me,” everypony nodded.
I parried an attack made by its tail, striking my hoof into it with a magical charge, I felt my magic power deplete. Our ice serpent was getting destroyed, as Applejack wrangled it in a rope, bringing it to the ground while Fluttershy landed on top of it, forcing it to the ground, the ground cracked.
“*ROAR,* *ROAR,*” both of the serpents roared aloud, causing more ice to fall, this time it was constantly falling, so we had to continue moving in order to stay alive.
“Keep moving, the ice is going to continue to fall,” I shouted. It took some tries but I managed to use the ice as simple use for hitting the ice serpent. Suddenly, I found a perfect time to parry both of them.
“Hey ugly, follow me,” I shouted, having it follow me, I ran towards the other ice serpent. Before either serpent got close, I jumped, parried both of their attack with having them crashing into each other, and charging a powerful final attack, a blink went off in my head, and I forced as much force into my final strike. I charged down hitting both serpents in the head. Both serpents crashed into the ground, digging my hoof into their heads, and smashing them to pieces. Both of their Hp bars emptied, as they both crumbled to shards of ice. The area got less colder, as I found my saddle bag and saw that it was now only five degrees Fahrenheit above zero. No longer the very cold below zero temperatures. I collapsed onto the floor, the others were probably doing the same thing. I fell into a deep sleep, as I was exhausted after that fight.
Something popped into my head before I fell too deep into sleep.
“I think she's waking up, everypony stand back.”
I heard somepony speak, I tried to open my eyes, which felt like lead.
“Ugh… what happened,” I asked, only to remember the events of the battle we just had.
“Twilight darling, are you alright, after we saw you collapse, we were worried we lost you, but you were just fine, minus the fact you looked tired,” Rarity said, helping me up, I looked around and noticed that the ice was still around but the only problem was that where I was, there was no ice, plus I didn't feel cold anymore
“How did this-” I was cut off by something saying something in my head.
‘You feel you heart warm up the area.’
“Hey, what's that over there,” Pinkie shouted, pointing a hoof towards a door at the end of the hallway. I lit my horn, only managing to get it lit a bit however, it only lit for few seconds before fusing and turning off. Rarity lit her’s once mine went out, I felt like I was out of energy.
“Twilight, you need to rest, let me take over the light for you,” Rarity said, walking next to me, I could walk, just my stamina wasn’t the best.
The door at the end of the hallway, was frozen over, I noticed that the floor unfreezes and the air around me becomes warm, even if it's not a big radius, it still unfreezes it. So I step forward and the ice on the door unfreezes, though it seems that the floor freezes over once I step out of the area that was unfrozen. Once it was completely unfrozen, I opened it, it wasn't too hard and didn't need too much magic. As I opened the door, I felt cold air blow through it at very high speeds, though afterwards it was warm once again.
“Phew… now to find them… now where are they,” I said out loud, everypony behind me looked confused. I looked around, the walls of ice looked like glass, the the ground and ceiling filled with icicles and spikes, at the end of the room, grouped together, were ten out of the one hundred-twenty ponies.
“Uh, Twilight, what in the hay are you talking about, there ain't gonna be anypony in here, it's too-” I cut Applejack off by showing them what I had found. They gasped once they saw that there were ponies trapped in ice.
“Is this what you came here for, why didn't you tell us, we could've helped,” Rainbow asked, I merely sighed.
“I never wanted to get you girls into this mess, I had to, this voice told me I had to do this, if not, one hundred-twenty pony lives would be wasted, as you can see, we found ten of them,” I said, I went over to the ponies, once I got close they began to melt, slowly their bodies escaping the ice prison that held them captive. One by one we all carried all ten of them, back to Ponyville, where we took them to the hospital to get them checked out.
“So now you mind telling us what happened,” Applejack asked.
“Well…” I began explaining what happened from when we were in the castle, to the dream, to the fight. They took sometime to take it all in before anypony asked questions.
“So then why were there only ten ponies inside the room,” Pinkie asked,
“I'm not sure, but none the less, we saved these ponies, this one however…” I said pointing my hoof at a green stallion who was sleeping, his cloak covered most of his body, not really letting us see anything under it, “feels very familiar.”
They all looked familiar, somehow… but I feel like I've seen them all before.
“Anyway, I've got to head back to the farm, you still up for tomorrow Twi,” Applejack asked, I nodded, she turned and left, leaving the room with the ten ponies we had saved. The others had things to do as well so they left as well, leaving me to watch the ponies. I began to fall asleep, I felt tired after that fight, and a nap would do me wonders. I yawned as I laid my head down on the floor.
“Today was eventful… good night I guess… whoever you ponies are…” I yawned once more, before I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
I had my mane covering my eyes to make it look like I was asleep, I in fact was wide awake, this was a problem once, but I've come to live with it, I thought I had woken up from a coma, and it was all just a dream, but no… I was frozen and as I've heard, one hundred-ten of us are left.
“She seems to be asleep, better not wake her up so suddenly,” I said, looking over the mare who saved me, hmm better do something so she doesn’t feel uncomfortable when she wakes up.
You may be wondering who I am, well the name’s Mint, Mint Cloud, pleasure meeting you.
My name is Mint, Mint Cloud. I was one of the many ponies who were trapped in ice. I shouldn't be awake, or alive... but I am.
“Hmm, better take a look around,” I got up from my bed, and walked around, only to fall on my face for not walking for about... an amount of years. I got up, and got the hang of walking pretty quickly, I looked over the ponies who were unfrozen.
“So these are the others, three Pegasi, counting me, two Unicorns, and the rest Earth... interesting sum of ponies, perhaps they’re all from here,” I wondered, only making sure to make enough sound to hear myself, the sudden realization hit me harder than ever before. These ponies… they're… never mind that...
“...lets move her to my bed... I don't want her sleeping on the floor, not after she saved us,” I went to pick the mare off the floor up, she was pretty light, and easy to carry, I set her down on the bed I was on, and went over to the window.
“Night time... alright lets see what there is around here to look at,” I moved away from the window and walked around the room, the ponies on the beds had little bags of fluid next to them, their heart rates displayed on the heart monitor, each of them at average speed, at least that’s what I thought average speed was.
“She seems so peaceful when she sleeps,” I said, walking over to the mare who saved us.
I took in her looks, she was a nice lavender color with a dark indigo/purple colored mane, with strips of lighter shades of purple, her mane was cut off at a certain point as to not cover her eyes. Right now her mane was slightly disheveled probably from the fact she’s sleeping and has a really bad bed head, minus that I couldn’t see anything besides her Cutie Mark which was a large purple star burst surrounded by five smaller white stars. I would look further down, but I’m not a pervert, and we haven’t even met.
“I need to find a mirror, I know I still have my cloak that Scarlet made for me... she was pretty generous... she did say good bye when I left, I made sure to leave something for them to remember me by, but what was it... Ugh I’ll figure it out later... I still need to look around,” I left the spot I was at and continued looking around the room. There was no mirror, however, there were a few cabinets, I would have to check those later.
The door to the hallway was closed, I didn’t hear anything outside it so I assumed nopony was out at this time, which is pretty obvious, considering the fact that it’s night time. I opened the door and saw that it was dark with the occasional crystal shining above every other door. The front desk wasn’t too far away and was occupied by somepony, they seemed to be reading something, they looked at the time and their eyes widened, it seemed like he forget to check on something. I immediately shot back into the room and went to sit down on a chair next to the window, this seemed like a nice way to fool them into thinking I was thinking.
I heard the door open, as I think was the doctor walked in, I figured at this point they froze, seeing as I felt a gaze rest on me, I didn’t move nor did I say anything, I just sat there doing nothing but staring at the night sky.
I think the doctor knew not to disturb me as he saw that I left the mare in my bed, I think I heard him mutter something like, ‘seems familiar,’ and ‘pretty generous of him,’ but other than that he kept to himself and switched the bags of fluid out with full ones, and left me once again alone in the room. After a few minutes he came back and set something on the counter along the back wall. I looked around and found it was a cup of water, and an apple. I got up from the chair I was sitting in and grabbed the apple and bit into it, as juicy as it was, it was too good to last, and a few bites later, nothing was left besides a core. I also grabbed the cup of water and finished its contents
“Well, that was certainly interesting... wonder what else is there in here,” I put the cup back on the counter and continued looking around, after looking for something interesting for about half an hour, I quit, all I found were simple bandages, clipboards, crayons, parchment, and even some dolls and stuffed animals within the cabinets.
After that not so exciting search, I went to grab the chair and set it down next to the mare , I really needed to find out her name so I could stop calling her ‘the mare.’
“Let’s see what’s the agenda for when I get out of here, find a place to stay... might not be a problem unless Ponyville is still... Ponyville... try to stay out of the light of the princesses, they’ve got a nice hold when it comes to memories, and me being a hero of this town may be like remembering the loss of a loved one... help ponies, defeat bosses, profit... hmm, might want to reconsider that one, eventually I’m going to need bits, and when I left I had only twenty bits on me, and I think I still have them too,” my statement was answered by feeling a bit bag deep within my cloak, “maybe read somethings on combat and such... that would be helpful seeing as I’m going to have to help in gettting the other ponies out of the ice they are Incased in... also I need to-“ I hadn’t noticed, but the light coming from the mare’s horn in front of me was beginning to grow, I looked up to see a very sleepy looking mare looking me in the eyes, her mane slightly disheveled.
Before I could say anything else, the mare in question pulled me from my chair using her magic, and stuffed me into the bed... at this point I was lost in a blinking fit, I think this mare’s still asleep...
“Uh... this is concerning...” she snuggled into my chest and fur, the feeling of this mare was firing warning after warning in my head, she smelled of lavender... mind don’t leave me now, you know we don’t do that.
We stayed like that for awhile, while she was happily sleeping away, my mind was destroying itself trying to keep control thanks to the mare keeping me in her grasp, by the gods did she smell like the heavens...
“This is getting worse by the minute... just don’t think about it, and wait until morning and it’ll all be over by then... let’s just hope I can explain this to her well enough for her not to blast me into dust...” I sighed, this was going to be a pain and a half to explain.
Just then she hummed, and hugged me closer, I didn’t thing I could get this close to a mare, but it seems I was bested. This is going to bite me in the flank later isn’t it...
“What am I going to say when she wakes up... maybe I should just improvise, but even then... would they really buy it,” I had to stay calm, any sudden movements, and I would most likely get it, I stayed in that position for a while, about three hour or so, when finally the sun began to make its appearance, during that whole time, she was snuggling and sniffing me intensely with a dopey smile in her face, if somepony walked in right then and there, it would have been bad... my body couldn’t feel any more squished at that point.
“Hmm... Celestia, five more minutes... put the sun back, it’s too early...” the mare said, snugging closer to me.
“As much as I enjoy the feeling of you snuggling me into submission... I would like to have my body back,” I said out loud, which woke the mare holding a tight firm grip on my body, and arms.
I was woken by somepony near me, they sounded like they were right next to me.
“As much as I enjoy the feeling of you snuggling me into submission... I would like to have my body back,” the voice said, they sounded masculine... alarms suddenly went off in my head.
I opened my eyes, and I saw I was hugging somepony to the point where they couldn’t escape, they even seemed slightly uncomfortable. A blush intensified on my face and I squeaked in fear.
I pulled back in fear, I was at the edge of the bed, I couldn’t be anymore embarrassed, why did I do that, how did I even get him into... before anymore thoughts crossed my mind I fell off the bed, hitting the floor with a load thump.
“Oh sweet Celestia, are you ok,” I asked, as I went over to the mare, now on the floor, only to realize my body felt like lead.
I slugishly moved over to the mare that was blushing, she was in a slight daze... I sighed, as feeling returned to my body, I needed to get her to a doctor, I picked her up and walked up to the door, only to be pushed back by a force. I hit the back wall while the mare that was in my grasp merely plopped onto the floor, knocking her out of her slight daze. My wings couldn’t hurt any more than they already do, and I think I even got a nose bleed from the door making contact with my nose.
“Hey Twilight, we’re back, how’s it-“ whoever was speaking cut themselves off, only to realize that they were looking at a mare, who was named Twilight and on the floor in a daze, and me, a very green pony with a cloak knocked against the wall, eyes still rolling, and a bleeding nose.
“What in tarnation happened here, Twilight, are you okay,” a southern accented mare said, I think they helped Twilight out, I was still dazed from the impact of the door.
“Hey buddy, what did ya do to Twilight, did you hurt her,” a cyan mare knocked me out of my daze by hitting me in the stomach, which caused more blood to seep out of my nose and tears to start forming around the edges of my eyes, and decided to just jumped to conclusion and blame me for this, “I swear to Celestia if you did I’m going to shove this hoof- woah! Hey!”
The mare was pulled away by another mare, this one orange.
“Simmer down there sally, I doubt he’s the cause of this, right,” the orange mare asked, looking intensely at me, only to realize I was on the floor, writhing in pain, tears slightly coming out of my eyes, and blood seeping out of my nose.
“Now look at what you’ve done Rainbow, you broke him,” I heard a posh voice say from the mares.
“Hey you would’ve done the same thing too,” another scratchier voice said, among the mares.
“No, I wouldn’t, I would have asked him did he do something to her, then I would take action, I swear Rainbow, you always jump to conclusion before even having all the facts,” at this point I think my nose blood was beginning to puddle, I couldn’t tell thanks to the fact I think my insides were also bleeding.
“Oh my, are you okay,” a soft voice asked me, I would have answered if it weren’t for the fact that I can barely breath, I tried to take in a breath, but only to be stopped by the pain, I stop, more blood shot out of my nose. Though... I still answered with the last of the breath I had in my lungs.
“Oh yeah... totally, having your nose punched by a door, and getting punched in the stomach is very soothing...” I managed to say with a wheeze.
Ugh... my head hurts... what happened.
“Hey Twilight, are you okay,” somepony asked me, I groaned and got up, it was Pinkie.
“Yeah, I was just sleeping when- *gasp,*” I gasped when I saw the stallion that I hugged to near death was on the floor writhing in pain, and blood pooling around his head as blood seeped from his nostrils. Rarity and Rainbow were bickering and Fluttershy just looked over him.
“Girls! What happened, how did he get like this,” I asked, only for Ranbow to slightly cower in embarrassment.
“Well you see... I kinda thought he hurt you, so I basically attacked him...” she said, rubbing her hoof on the back of her head.
“No he didn’t do any of the sort, if anything, I’m the one who hurt him... ugh I feel so bad for what I did...” I trailed off, letting what I said drift through the air.
“Wait so mind telling us what you know Twi,” Applejack asked.
“Well...” I began explaining what happened with me waking up to find that I was hugging him, me getting shocked, and me falling off the bed.
“Well shoot... it’s all just a misunderstandin’ is all... Rainbow, I think you owe an apology ta this feller right here,” she said to Rainbow, who merely looked saddened.
We all turned to look at him... only to see that he was still in a heap on the floor, and it even seemed like his colors were starting to fade.
“After we get him some medical help,” I added, as everypony agreed with a nod.
“Ugh... is this the thanks I get for putting up with how much I go through...” I said, letting out a sigh. I was once again on my bed, feeling the after affects of the healing spells the doctors provided. I however really didn’t care if this was how I was going to spent the rest of the day, I was tired, and I needed rest.
“Well right now I would stop complaining if I were you, you need rest, and the last thing you need is more headaches,” the nurse said, as she adjusted the bed for me to lie down and sleep.
I felt a spell cover me, and my eyelids began to follow gravity, and moments later, I found myself unconscious.
“Well now that he’s asleep, I would like all of you to please leave while he recovers,” the nurse told us, I was about to interject... until a hoof touched my shoulder, I looked over and saw it was Applejack’s, she didn’t say anything, but I knew what she meant, I nodded, and agreed to leave.
After leaving the hospital, I went with Applejack to her farm, I had to help her with her apple farm, I found spike sitting outside waiting for me. He hopped onto my back, and we headed out
Some time later...
Ugh... my head... why does it feel like I was hit with a pan... where am I...
I began opening my eyes, the lights were dimmed, not too much... but just enough to not blind me. I moved one of my legs up to rub my face, after doing so... I noticed that I wasn’t in my room... nor was I- wait... what happened... everything seems fuzzy... maybe it’ll come back to me.
I began to sit up, the room I was in was... well... a hospital room, I took to looking at my surroundings. While it was a challenge, I managed, even if it was difficult. There were other ponies in the beds that filled the room, all of them seemed familiar... Ugh, curse my good for nothing memory.
“But there is something about them... I just can’t put my hoof on it,” I muttered, rubbing a hoof on my chin.
I saw that it was daytime outside, wonder how I got here in the first place.
“Hmm maybe I should look around...” I trailed off, giving it a shot at getting off the bed, it took an effort... but I managed. Once I took my first step... I immediately regretted it, as I was now getting a mouth full of the floor.
“Ow...” I muttered, only for the sound to be blocked by the ground.
Getting back on my hooves, I gave a few more shots at moving around, after awhile I was back on my hooves, walking around.
Walking over to the window, I noticed one thing, nopony was outside, or at least it seemed like it until I saw that a whole group of ponies were chasing a purple unicorn... with a baby dragon on her back...? She seemed to have a golden ticket of some kind in her magical hold, Celestia... whatever this ticket may be, it must be valuable... or rare... either way, I feel bad for her.
Moving away from the window, I found that on the counter was an empty glass, with an apple core next to it, they seemed resent too. Looking through the cabinets I found... nothing useful... ugh do they not store anything good in these hospitals.
“Hmm, maybe somepony’s out in the hall,” walking over to the door, I grabbed the handle and opened the door, the hall was filled with passing doctors and nurses, the occasional patient in their company. Nopony seemed to notice me so I just walked back into the room.
“Wonder who they are,” I thought out loud, looking at the rest of the ponies in the beds, I saw that they were pretty diverse in color and species, five Earth which is including me... three Pegasi... and two Unicorns...
“Just one thing to think about... why does she look like me,” I said looking at a bright pink mare with golden mane and tail... with with a stripe of white off to the left... my mane and tail were similar, however I was a more pronounced pink. Maybe I’ll find out later who she is.
“Okay, let’s go over what we have and know so far... I’m in the hospital for some reason... by the fact there are other ponies here with me... we were all part of some kind of incident... and realizing that maybe we were brought back here, that it was most likely a deadly situation we were in,” I thought about the things going on... when I realized I don’t even remember my name.
I was broken out of my thought process and brought back into reality by the sound of the room door opening.
“Well Ms. Smith, here are the patients, but I don’t see why you’d- oh, I didn’t expect to see any of you up and about,” the nurse said, and walked in, while being folowed by an elderly pony.
“Oh it’s fine, just trying to figure out what’s going on, my memory has yet to return so I’m going to wait-“ before I even finished my sentence... some of my memory decided to pop back into exsistance, “-and some of its back...”
I sighed and sat down, recollecting what’s left of my memory.
“Well all I can tell you at this point is my name... ugh... there’s still fuzzy bits here and there,” I said getting up off he floor, “my name is Rose, Rose Gold, nice to meet you.”
“A pleasure, I’m sure, anyway, I might as well tell you what happened from what I was told by the other nurses, you see...” she began explaining about how we were frozen in ice inside the old castle of the two sisters, and about how somepony named Twilight along with her friends, saved us, and that’s why we’re here in the hospital.
“Phew... that is one heck of a tale,” I looked around and saw that the elderly pony wasn’t next to the nurse anymore, but rather, next to one of the beds, specifically, a slightly small bright red Earth pony with an orange and pink mane, mismatched, she looked sad looking at the pony, but also happy, I wonder why.
“Umm, Ms. Smith, do you know this pony,” the nurse asked.
“Why yes... sadly before she disappeared, she was... my sister... her name was Sugarbee... sweetest pony you could ever meet,” Ms. Smith said, while my eyes widened... wait a minute... now I remember...
Sometime in the past...
”Hey Rose, what are you doin after we say goodbye to Mint when he leaves to go on an adventure,” somepony behind me asked, I turned around and saw it was my friend Sugarbee.
“Oh nothing, I was just going to help my sister with some new plants she received a few days ago, they’re some nice lemon trees, some small ferns, and an asortment of chilies, one of them however kinda scared me a bit,” I said, rubbing the back of my head.
“Now why’s that,” she asked.
“Well, they called it a ‘ghost pepper,’ not really looking forward to it... I’m not really sure where she managed to find those types of peppers...” I trailed off with a sigh.
“I swear to Celetia that mare has a pepper problem... she may be ‘Sweet,’ but she can sure pack a spicy punch... ugh don’t even remind me about the time we had to try her ‘sweet’ treats, I nearly burned my tongue off after eating two at once... me and my stupid sweet tooth...” she said, muttering the last part.
“Well come on, we still have time to-“
A headache replaced the memory, leaving just a blurry haze... ugh... well at least I regained some of it back.
“Uh... Ms. Smith-“
“Please call me Granny Smith, seems like forever since you seen me hasn't it,” Granny said.
”Hey Rose, want ta join us, we’re almost done with the barn,” Smith said, helping her siblings and parents and family members raise a barn wall.
“I’m sorry Smith... I can’t, if I don’t get this done for Mrs. Heart, my mother’s going to be on me for not finishing some homework,” I said trying to finish my plant heath and science homework, I was aceing that class, with a ninety-seven on my report card, but if I didn’t get this done it would bring my grade down.
“Well shoot... guess that does make sense, oh well, though when your done, want to head over to the Mint fields, I know you want to see Mint as much as our other friends,” she said, making me blush a little, she knew I had a crush on Mint... I just can’t say no...
“Yeah... I think that would be good, he needs a little encouragement, he’s been feeling down in the dumps lately, especially with him doing most of the work thanks to both his parents getting sick, so I guess a bit of company wouldn’t hurt,” I said.
“Say have you met my younger sister, Sugarbee,” she asked.
“No, I don’t believe-“
Once again I was blocked from remembering anything else.
“Smith... is that you...” I was saddened by the fact she was old... that meant two things, one, me and these other ponies were frozen in time, two, this is now the future...
“Yes it is, come ‘ere before you cry anymore,” Granny said, pulling me into a hug, I haven’t seen her in a long time it seems.
“It’s good to see your still yourself, after you both went missing, I never would have thought you’d ever come back... but it seems I was wrong...” she said, pulling me out of the hug.
“Well I hope we can catch up later... but it seems like the nurse has something to say,” I said looking at the nurse, who had tears running down her face and a tissue box next to her, she had a tissue already in her hooves and was blowing her nose.
“I’m sorry... that was just so beautiful... *sniff,* ugh, why is it always this stuff that gets me,” she said, wiping her eyes with another tissue, “anyway, I do have somethings I need to do, specifically, with this one over here.”
The nurse walked over to a dark forest green like pony, his mane was black, save for the highlights at the ends of his mane, he seemed to have been forced to sleep... how do I know this... well...
”Hey Ace, whatcha doing,” I called to my friend Ace.
“Oh well just trying to wake up Patient,” Ace said, pointing to Patient, who was on the floor tongue out and legs splayed out.
“Alright, what did you do this time,” I asked.
“Well I was trying out this sleeping spell I found, and well... you can see the results,” he said, rubbing the back of his head.
“Ace... what have all of us told you about testing spells... use them on other ponies, not our friends,” I groaned.
“Well she wanted me to-“
“So what about him,” I asked.
“Well earlier today he was hurt and we had to heal him up, the only way for him to fully recover, is by getting some rest, and it’s been nearly half the day, so I thought I should have checked on him, before I headed down here however, Ms. Smith said she wanted to see the ponies who were saved, and the rest you know,” she said, checking over the pony, he seemed to be fine to me.
“Well everything seem to be in check, I have to head back to the front desk, I’m sorry Ms. Smith, it’s time to go, but you can come back tomorrow,” she said.
“Well I guess I’ll see you then,” Granny said, pulling me into a hug.
“Yep... see you then,” I said, returning the hug.
We both waved goodbye, and the nurse closed the door to the room, leaving me to relish in today’s events, even if we were in the future, I wouldn’t miss any second of it if it meant I would be with my old friends again.
After getting on my bed I laid there resting, I wasn’t tired, I just didn’t want to be on the floor. It would be Sunset in a few hours...
Oh my... ugh... this feels worse than what happened when I ate a piece of that ghost pepper... where am I... and why does it feel like I’ve been running a marathon... what... happened...?
I began to open my eyes, I was... in side of a hospital room...? Alright what did happen...?
“Ugh... where is everypony,” I thought out loud.
“I'd ask too... but it seems we’re both in the same situation,” somepony called to my right, I looked over and saw it was my sister Rose Gold, Laying on one of the many beds inside the room we were in.
“Oh Hey sis... what happened, why are we in the hospital,” I asked.
“Well... from what the hospital staff have told me... we were frozen in ice and now we’re in the future...” she said, looking at the ceiling no tone really shown in her voice.
I pause, the air filling with an awkward silence, I processed what she just said to me... ok... we’re in the future... in the future... the future... future... wait FUTURE!?!
“The future!? How in the hay did such a thing happen,” I asked, beginning to panic at the sound of actually being in the future.
“Yep, not sure when... but you get the gist, apparently somepony named Twilight, along with her friends, saved us,” she said, looking at me, she did have a smile on her face, it showed the joy when you haven’t seen a friend in a while.
“You know, it’s good to atleast be by your side in this,” I said, giving my sister a smile.
“Yeah, couldn’t have said it any better myself...”
“So, which of our friends got frozen,” I asked
“Counting us, it seems like... Ace, Patient, Thunder, Copper, Color, Bramble, Sugarbee, and Mint... gotta say, it seems like it’s our best friends were the ones frozen...”
“So what do you say we get up and look around the hospital, it’s not like the nurses will mind that we’re just out and about.”
“Yeah, Let’s go, we’ll just have to be back before sundown, alright let’s go!”
Me and my sister got out of bed, as we both headed for the door... only to be pushed back by a force that I didn’t think was possible.
“Hi there I’m Pinkie Pie, and I found out you two were awake, so I thought I’d just stop by and say ‘hi’, it’s so nice to meet new ponies, like what was like before you were frozen, did you have like different foods back then, was it like primitive and stuff, oh oh did they have cupcakes, anyway what’s your favorite flavor, when Is your birthday, Hey are you Ok, of course you are, anyway...”
Ugh, make whoever this Pinkie Pie is stop this torment of words being pelted at me at high speed... I think I’m about to have an migraine...
“...and that’s how Equestria was made!”
“Never mind, I just wanted to say welcome, and here have a cupcake,” she said, pulling two cupcakes on a plate out of her mane... how? When? Where? Huh?!? Ugh... this mare is about to fry my brain...
We just took the plate and thanked her for the cupcakes.
“Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow when everypony will be awake, then we can have the best welcoming party ever!”
And with that, she bounced out of the room, leaving us on the floor, with two cupcakes, and a plate.
“I’m not ready for what is going to happen tomorrow...”
It’s most likely to be a pain in the flank if it has to do with that physics defying pony.
