Starlight Glimmer tried to find the perfect gift for Spike
Starlight feel awful when she find that the day Twilight got her cutie mark was also the day that Spike was hatch. With help from friends and family, She vow to give Spike the best birthday present ever.
The doors to the Castle of Friendship were suddenly open resulting in a bang ringing through out the castle which was follow by, "The Great and Powerful Trixie who is also unscareable has arrive for breakfast with Starlight. You know Starlight whom Trixie is a better friend with than Princess Booklight."
"It's Princess Twilight not Booklight, Trixie, and I would appreciate if you could remember that! Not to mention it would be very helpful you didn't go around trying to break my doors!", shouted Twilight as she emerged from the Friendship Map room.
"As you say she who readeth way too much. So, where is Starlight anyway?", asked Trixie as she filed a hoof.
"Grr...no, breathe in, breathe out, and count to ten. I not sure where Starlight is, you can go to the kitchen and ask Spike. Now if you excuse me, I have a date with Moondancer to keep,"said Twilight as she went through the calming ritual that Princess Candance taught her.
"Oh...finally coming out of the stable are we? Trixie is so proud of you. All hail, the Princess of Fillyfooler," smirked Trixie as she did an exaggerated bow.
Twilight facehoof, "I didn't mean it like that and you know it. Oh, and for the record i'm not a fillyfooler. Not that there is anything wrong with that."
"If that true than why did Trixie caught you reading that book, the Bountiful Joy of Mare's Love? Don't you know that the go to holy book of fillyfooler?", questioned Trixie.
"Because I was reading it so that I could understand one of my old Canterlot friend, Lyra Heartstring. She move here to Ponyville before me and I wanted to finish reconneting with all of my old Canterlot friends. So, I found out she a fillyfooler and I'll admit I'm ignorance when come to matter of the heart. So, I talk to Candance and she sent me that book for research," said a wearly Twilight.
"Don't wanna disappoint your stallion fanbase. Don't you worry, your secret is safe with me. Now if you excuse me, I gotta see a dragon about a unicorn. You know I hope she still in working condition," jested Trixie.
"Arrh...just forget it, Twilight," raged Twilight as she stormed out of the castle.
Trixie let out a series of giggles as she pass through the Friendship Map room and into the kitchen. She found Spike washing dishes while standing on a stool. He was wearing a pink frilly apron with a red heart which she has to admit was adorable. To get Spike's attention, Trixie clear her throat. Spike stopped washing dishes and look behind him noticing Trixie.
"Oh, hello Trixie, is there anything I can help you with?", offered Spike.
"Yes, have you seen Starlight anywhere?", answered Trixie.
"Just a guess here but she might be in her room", shrugged Spike.
"Why would she be in her room at this time of day?", pondered Trixie.
"I'm not sure. Starlight was down here this morning helping me with preparing breakfast. We got to talking about random things like today is day I was born then she got real quiet for some reason than just left. I assume she went to her room to be by herself. That remind me, your and her breakfast are in the fridge. Maybe you can take her breakfast to her room and find out why seem upset. I would go but things have been kinda strange between us ever since Heartwarming's Eve," said Spike.
"Okay, Trixie shall do that and Trixie thank the Great and Honorable Spike the Brave and Glorious for the wonderful soon to be eaten breakfast," said Trixie as she bow to Spike.
Using her magic Trixie retrieve the food from the fridge and left the kitchen while Spike got back to washing the dishes. She walk down the hall leading to Starlight's room and came to halt at her door. She gave three short knock to the door but receive no answer. While opening the door slowly, Trixie look inside finding Starlight laying on her bed with her face in her hooves. Putting their plates on Starlight's desk, Trixie climb onto the bed and pull Starlight into a trademark pony hug. Starlight sniffle as she bury her head into Trixie's chest. Trixie petted the back of Starlight's head while Starlight continue to cried. After what seem like an hour, Starlight stopped crying and enjoy the embrace of her friends.
"Thank you, Trixie, I need that," said Starlight as she broke away from Trixie and use a hoof to wipe her eyes.
Trixie levitate their plates over to them and offered, "Maybe we could eat our breakfast while you tell me what got you so upset."
Starlight's stomach growl as she giggled, "It seem my stomach is in agreement with your suggestion."
"Starlight, you know Spike is very worry about you. He said you left suddenly for some reason. Mind telling me why?", asked Trixie.
"I don't deserve his friendship not after what I did to him. I don't see how he can keep considering me a friend. How can he be so forgiven to just laugh off what I did to him ?", answered a Starlight as she sat sulking.
"Geez, drama much, Starlight. You're acting as if you stole his first kiss or something", joked Trixie.
Starlight start glancing around nervously, "Must of been or something because it couldn't have been that first thing. Spike and me kissing, that wouldn't happen in a million years. Stop acting so cray-cray, Trixie."
Trixie raised a eyebrow, "Umm...Starlight, you know I was joking, right?"
"O-of course I knew you were just kidding. I was just playing along," stuttered Starlight.
"But since we're on the subject, Trixie demand you tell her all about this you kissing Spike business," said Trixie.
"I'm not telling you about that and why would you want to know in the first place, " deadpanned Starlight.
Trixie put her foreleg around Starlight, "Because we're marefriend, Starlight, and this is just the kind of stuff that marefriends talk about. Like what stallion or in your case what dragon we like."
"Fine, I tell you! Oh and just for the record, I never say that I like him in that way. You got it," pointed out Starlight.

Starlight ignoring the wink, "Well, sorry to disappoint you but it wasn't that big of a deal nor was it anything romantic. It happened last Heartwarming's Eve, I didn't feel much like celebrating since I veiw as a silly tradition. So, Twilight read to me A Heartwarming's Eve Carol after which I decided to come down and join them in the festivity. Of course, Spike took me around and introduced me to everyone. It was kinda cute how eager he was. "
"Is that when you suddenly realized you fallen in love with him and wanna show him some lovely-dovely with your kissy-wissy?" teased Trixie as she did a duckface.
Starlight sighed, "Hmn...no, that when the Pinkacane happened. After I told Twilight and her friends about how I haven't celebrated Heartwarming's Eve since I was a filly, Pinkie decided to become my official Heartwarming's Eve mentor. So, she drag me all around the castle doing every Heartwarming's Eve tradition that existed in forever. Before I knew it, she blindfolded me, spinned me around and gave me a shove forward. I wound up tripping over somepony and then our lips met."
"So, how was it, the kiss? Was it magical? Did you become weak in your knee?", wondered Trixie.
"After the Pinkacane, my brain was kinda scramble like eggs. But I guess it was kinda magical. There was a warm that spread throughout my body from the inside. I didn't feel like letting go, so I lean into the kiss," blushed Starlight.
"That sound so sweet, okay, then what happened next?", beamed a starry-eyed Trixie.
Starlight grounded her teeth, "What happen next was that the moment was absolutely ruining by that stick up her plot, wannabe princess, Rarity! She come flying out of nowhere screaming stop corrupting my Spikey-Wikey you harlot! A harlot...she called me a harlot, that rich coming from miss shake her flank for every stallion! And she doesn't even love Spike in that way, you know how many time I have to comforted Spike when he run acrossed another of her new colttoy of the week!"
"Whoa there, I know Twilight and sisterhood of overachieving do-gooder can grinded on anyponies nerves but you need to calm down, Staright," said Trixie as she patted Starlight's back.
Starlight let out a deep breathe, "Thank you, Trixie, I need that. Sorry about flying off the handle there but it just so aggravating having to deal with that drama queen. So back to the story, Rarity use her magic to fling me across the room which made me slam into a wall. Crystal walls may look pretty and all but they sure kick like a mule. I was angry for what Rarity did and so I grab her off of Spike slamming her into the floor. I was getting ready to get Rarity the beating of a lifetime when Twight and the other princess setup barrier to separate us. Twilight talked to Rarity to calm her down but Rarity start going on about how that Jezebel can't go around kissing Spike willy-nilly especially when she don't have romantic feelings for him. Hearing her said that got my heart burning, so I shouted back: hey Bitcharity, you have no rights to dictate how I or any other pony feel. So, if I want to kiss Spike, be his special somepony, or just buck his world that between him and me. You might like having your life be a soap opera but I don't need some walking dime store novel telling me how to live my life. Then she was like he just a child. It kinda got eerily quiet after that. With the party pretty much over, everyponies decided to go home."
"Bitcharity, heh heh...that a good one but wow, Starlight, confessing your love on Heartwarming's Eve, that so bold and romantic. You get Trixie's seal of approval. So, did you help Spike with raising his barn,hmm?", smirked Trixie as she elbowed Starlight.
Starlight blushed, "N...no...we didn't have sex. I just said that stuff in the heat of the moment. You don't think he just a child, do you?"
Putting a hoof to her chin, Trixie said, "Trixie think it pretty assumptive of Bitcharity to assume that dragons would have the same biology as ponies. I mean he does work for the princess which mean he work for the government. And from what I know you generally have to be sixteen and above to work for the government but I still don't see why you think Spike would be so upset that he doesn't want to remain friend or perhaps be something more?"
Starlight looking desponded, sighed, "Although it was kinda adorable seeing how flustered Spike became, the reason why I was crying was because I found out Spike was born today. The day that Twilight and the other got their cutie marks was also the day Spike was born as well. Turn out the sonic rainboom cause Twilight to have a magical surge which wound up hatching Spike's egg."
"Umm...Trixie still not understand the problem here?", said a confused Trixie.
"Don't you get it! If I have succeed in stopping the sonic rainboom that lead to Twilight and the other getting their cutie mark then Spike woulda never been born! He would have become an unborn, a neverwas. Spike would never have gotten to experience the joy of living, making friends, or falling in love! I would has taken that way from him and that why I don't deserved him as a friend!", shouted Starlight as she went on a tirade.
"Well, that is alot to chew on. Hmm..don't you worry anymore, Starlight. The intelligence and observance Trixie has got this in the bag. You feel bad about how you almost stopped Spike from being born, right? Then this is easy, ask for his forgiveness and then give him the best birthday present ever!", shouted Trixie.
Starlight rubbing her chin, "You do have a point there...about the present I meant. He told me story about how much of a bibliophile Twilight is. Everytime his birthday come around she would give him a book, I mean I like books too but I thought one of the principal aspect of being a friend was giving something a pony like on their birthday. But I not confident that I could pick the perfect gift for him."
"Knowing Twilight, she probably lose her virginity to a book. But back to your question, Starlight, just ask a pony that know him about what would make the best gift," said Trixie.
"But who could we ask? My friendship with Twilight and the other is kinda strain because of what happen on Heartwarming's Eve. Big Mac been avoiding me ever since I casted that little spell on him and it won't help to ask Discord," said Starlight.
"How about Princess Celestia? You're still friend with her and she knew Spike when he was living in Canterlot. You could visit her and ask her about what present to give for Spike. I'll keep Spike distracted while you go to Canterlot," answered Trixie.
"Okay, let do this. I'll teleport to Canterlot, visit with the princesses, get the perfect gift, and return here to give Spike the best birthday ever," said Starlight as she hoofbump Trixie.
Trixie backup to the door while Starlight gather magic in her horn. Starlight wave to Trixie as the magic she release teleported her to Canterlot. Trixie turning around left the room and run back to the kitchen gasping, "Hey...Spike...want... to...see...my...new...tricks?"
Celestia was sitting on her throne getting ready to dive into a triple tier cake when suddenly the room shook. Before she knew, the cake exploded shooting beams of light and senting cake pieces to decorate the castle's wall. After retracting her wings sheild, Celestia look at where her glorious cake once stood and found Starlight. Starlight look sheepishly up at a glaring, pouting Celestia, "Umm...guessing I came at a bad time?
Celestia stood up with her wings flared, "So, Starlight, mind telling me why you thought it would be a good idea to pull a pinkie and pop out of my sweet, sweet cake! I mean I know like, no, love cake but not...ON THE BUCKING WALL!"
Starlight was about to answer when the the throne room's doors were open, "Tia, I thought we talk about this. If you're gonna do your little food-gasm thing then do it...IN THINE OWN BEDROOM AND NOT IN YONDER THRONE ROOM!"
A pitiful looking Celestia blushed at Luna's statement , "Lulu, could we not do this in front of other ponies and shouldn't you be sleeping? Why are you even here?"
"Because we have invited a guest over whose should be arriving soon and we have agreed to meet her in yonder throne room before we are to take court," said Luna.

Starlight paused while Celestia buried her face in her hooves, "Wait! So you're saying that Celestia, the ponies' precious white virgin goddess, invented cake dildo?"
"Indeed, you should've seen the baker's face when his wife made him realize what Tia was doing with her special order. Originally it was known as the princess's pound cake because the princess was pounding herself with cake. Looking out from her wings, Celestia said, "Can we stop telling embarrassing story about me and talk about something else, please?"
As Luna was going to answered, a thunderous sound follow by a fillish scream and a ball of fire was seen and heard coming from the balcony, "I AM EMBER, DAUGHTER OF TORCH, WINNER OF THE GAUNLET OF FIRE, FRIEND OF SPIKE, AND LORD OF ALL DRAGONS!"
"Umm...please tell me you're not going to be telling our fillyhood memories to Ember as well, are you? That would be so embarrassing," facehoofed a red-faced Celestia.
Ember looking perplexed as she enter the throne room, "is this part of the whole friendship is magic thing, telling embarrassing stories about each other?"
"We have not though of that but tis a good idea. Mayhap we shall do that later? But no, we didn't asked Ember here to trade embarrassing secrets but to seek her take on the inquiry of Spike's age. Since ponies are sorely lacking information when it come to dragon's biology, we though it prudent to asked a reliable source. And we thought noponies would be more reliable than the Lord of dragons," said Luna
"Why would you summon me here for a trivial thing like that? I thought Spike's age would be pretty obvious. I mean, he did participated in the Gaunlet of Fire," said an annoyed Ember.

"Why do ponies keeping thinking I'm in love with Spike. Just because of one accidentally kiss at Heartwarming's Eve and suddenly me and Spike are supposed to be all lovey-dovey," snorted Starlight.

"But back to our story, we believe she may wishes to be with Spike in a romantic setting. But alast, another mare has come to blocked her from doing so. The second mare denied the first by saying Spike is but a child and is too young to be engaging in an adult relationship," said Luna.
Ember exploded in giggle, "Spike's a child...that's the most ridiculous thing...I ever heard...I know he a runt...but that...that...just stupid."

Look, I know I might be the Lord of Dragons but in truth it not for all dragon, just the teenage ones. Adult dragons don't really need a ruler since they tend to keep to themselves just as long as you don't bother them. But teenage dragons are a different story. They're like volcanoes, highly volatile. If they didn't have a ruler like the Lord of dragons to keep them in check they could cause massive damages. There is an unwritten rule when it come to the qualification of becoming the Lord of Dragons and that is you must be a teenager and capable of producing an heir," scoffed Ember.
"So since Spike was allow not only to participate in the Gaunlet of Fire but become the Dragonlord as well than that mean he is of breeding age. So that mare Luna was talking of may then without worries pursue a relationship with Spike," espoused Celestia.
"If that what Spike want...yeah, whatever...it not like I care about him in that way, hmpf. Stupid ponies, keeping all the good drakes to themselves," huffed Ember as she crossed her arms.
Luna chuckled, "Why but of course, Ember, we would never think of such a thing. Which bring us to our little Starlight here. So why have you grace us with thine own presence, Starlight?"
Starlight explained what happen earlier this morning, "And that why I'm here. I was hoping Celestia could help me find the perfect gift for Spike. I mean Spike have been such a great friend to me from forgiving me to helping me renew my friendship with Sunburst. Not to mention he intelligence, brave, strong, witty, funny, dependable, have great cooking skills and is quite adorable in his apron."
Ember rolled her eyes, "This is what wrong with you ponies, too much thinking and not enough action. Just give him a bowl of gems. Give dragons some gems and you'll never goes wrong. You'll get me a picture of him in this adorable apron you speak of, right?"
"Yes, we being the Princess of Nights and Dreams have dealt with the unborned. Tis a fate we would wish not on our worst enemy," stated Luna.
"Seem at time ponies like to think of me as Spike's mother. Although I helped him with controlling his magic, like his fire breath, in truth I was more like a godmother to him," said Celestia.
A sad-looking Starlight sighed, "So that mean you won't be able to help me, then. What am I going to do now? You were really my last hope. Now I won't be able to get Spike the perfect gift for his birthday."
"Now, now, I didn't say I couldn't help you. Although, I'm glad you came to me but the ones you should really be talking with are Twilight's parents; Twilight Velvet and Night Light. Come with me to the balcony here. Now do you see that observatory on the hill down there. That's Twilight's childhood home and that's where you will find them.", said Celestia being followed by the other.
Starlight with thanked to Ember and the princess left the castle heading to the observatory where she would find Twilight's parents.
"So this mare you're talking about, the one you said was in love with Spike, it's her, rights?", asked Ember pointed her thumb in Starlight's direction.
Celestia and Luna sharing glances and giggles, "yes."
A grin appear on Ember's face, "She certainly has the heart of a dragon. I like her and Spike could use somepony like her."
"They'll face some hurdles in the future but it good they have your support and approval, Dragonlord Ember. I wonder what Twilight's parents will think of her...heh heh...she is like Twilight Velvet in a way. But enough of that. Now back to you, Luna. You should never tell other ponies about our past, got it," glared Celestia.
As she was bowing, Luna chuckled, "But of course whatever you said, Mother Dearest."
"O'Tartarus no, we are not starting that again. You know how long it took me to get ponies to stopped thinking you're my daughter," facehoofed a annoyed Celestia.
Outside, Luna flew about the castle with Celestia hot on her trail, "LUNA, GET THINE FLANK BACK HERE AND APOLOGIZE AT ONCE!"
"No way, mom," giggled Luna as she kept dodging Celestia.
"LUNA!!! THOU SHALT DESIST FROM CALLING THEE THY MOTHER!!!", raged Celestia in the royal caterlot voice.
"Al'right, now this is my kind of diplomacy. Hey, wait for me," cheered Ember as she raced after Celestia and Luna.
Some castle's guards look up at the sparing match between Ember and the princess. They look to their captain, "Umm...should we like stopped them or something?"
The captain shooked his head, "No, it like my grandpa always said: the quickest way for a stallion to end up in the hospital is a straight line between two mare set on duking it out."
After what seem like hours, Luna grabbed both Celestia and Ember in her magic. She teleported them back inside to the throne room. Luna, now sitting upon her throne, "As much as we'd like to continue our fun, we're afraid we'll have to end it here."
"You can't quit now. I was about to win," pouted both Celestia and Ember.
"Hah hah...but alast, all good things must come to an end. A part of friendship is knowing when not to interfered with thine friend's duties. Ember, while we enjoyed greatly having thee over but we must take court and our dear sister have a party to host," said Luna as she hoofshake Ember's hand.
"Guess I too have my duties as Dragonlord but you will call me when you and your sister need to relieved stress?" hoped Ember.
Luna and Celestia saying their goodbye, "But of course, we wishes thee safe travels home, our sister from another mother."
Waving a final goodbye, Celestia asked, "So what's this party I am to be hosting?"
"Cause of Rarity's actions, we thought tis prudence to distracted the elements. So thou throwing them a party of slumber or a celebration of their cutie marks shalt keeps them from interfering with Starlight and Spike," answered Luna as Celestia agreed with her.
Meanwhile, feeling like she was in the Running of the Leaves, Starlight has reached the hill where sat Twilight's childhood home. Calling it a home might be a reach as it look like someone took a house and an observatory then squoosh them together. Starlight stopped right in front to catch her breathe. After a minute, Starlight raised her hoof knocking on the door. As the door was opening, Starlight, in a perfect imitation of Pinkie Pie, "UmmhelloMr.NightLightI'mTwilight'sstudent,StarlightGlimmer,andIwaswonderingif youcouldhelpmefindtheperfectgifttogivetoSpikeforhisbirthday,please."
"Whose that at the door, Honey?"-looking behind him while Starlight laid gasping for air, Night Light said-"It's a mare. I believe it's the one that Twilight was telling us about. You know the one she said was wanting to buck Spike's world."
As a ear-spliting scream rend the air, before she knew it Starlight was caught up in a bone-crushing hug that could rival Pinkie's, "Oh why hello there, I'm Twilight Velvet. So you're the little mare that Twilight said has her eyes set on our precious little gem, Spike. Night Light, could you be a sweetie and get some refreshment for guest. Oh, and get Spike's baby book too. Well enough dilly-dalling, lets go inside everyponies so I can tell embarrassing stories about Spike to his marefriend."
Night Light hugging a bewildered Starlight, "Hah hah...my wife is certainly a firecracker. unfortunately for you, I think she mighta took a liking. Well come on, let go inside. Oh, and welcome to the family, Starlight."

"Oh, that was the day Spike began to breathe fire. Our poor Spike was having a tummyache so Night Light was holding him and getting ready to burp him when...hah...hah...suddenly, foosh...the whole back of his head caught fire. He was running and screaming: my head on fire, I'm too young to be bald, no mares are gonna flirt with me now," recalled Twilight Velvet as she suppress her laughter.

Because of my parent's job I was pretty much left home alone which is why I visit Velvy's house so often. One day, her dad gave me some dj's equipments. But as soon as other ponies found out about my dj's equipments and me being home alone, they starts pressuring me into throwing parties for them," spoked Night Light as drank his tea.
"Yeah and one way of pressuring him was by using coltteasing mares, those damn harlots," cursed Twilight Velvet while shaking her hoof at the sky.
"What would ponies said when they heard that Princess Twilight Sparkle's own mother was cursing like a sailor. Oh, think of the poor impressionable foals," giggled Starlight as she imitated Rarity.
"I know, right. I mean I love both my son and daughter but they can be such sticks in the mud, just like their father," chuckled Twilight Velvet.
Night Light looking perturbed, "Hey! I not a stick in the mud. I may be an astronomer now but I still know how to have fun. When I was younger, it was my djing that made parties epic."
"Whatever you say, Dear, whatever you say. Spike reminded me of me when I was younger and that why he'll alway hold a special place in my heart. You know they alway say that a colt will go for a filly that remind him of his mother and now here you are. Now that he got you, he can finally get over his crush on Rarity," said Twilight Velvet.
Starlight looking desponded, "That highly unlikely. Because of his massive crush on Rarity, I doubt Spike could even look at another mare less alone me."
Twilight Velvet snickered, "Well you already kiss Spike, right? That should get him started on having those wet dreams about you. All you need to do now is confess your feeling to him."
"How am I suppose to do that? I may be an expert when it come to magic but when it come to emotions, I'm totally clueless," wallowed Starlight as she laid her head on the table.
"Oh that easy, I mean Equestria is the land of spontaneous musical after all. So you just need to sing a song then boom you and Spike become special someponies," said Twilight Velvet
With her face down on the table, Starlight groaned, "If I can't even talk about my emotions how in Tartarus am I gonna sing about them."
Twilight Velvet looking to Night Light,"Honey, don't you have some friends in the music industry. You know they were in that band the Soaring V back in the days."
"Umm...oh, you're talking about Väle Vändel. Until we saw that movie the Mighty Pegasus, we alway wonder why ponies were calling them the Soaring V. Let see, there was the guitarist Danny "RockNRoll" Hoovenmire, the base player Berri "Fabulous" Haylord, and the drummer Shetland "Swampy" Marsh. I met them when I was djing. We still keep in touch after all these years. In fact, they're here in Canterlot working on that new series, Ponieas and Herb. Why are you bring them up?", questioned Night Light.
"Well, I was thinking you could pop over there and get them to wite a song for Starlight," said Twilight Velvet.
"Velvy, that is a good idea. Okay I'm off. I should be back in a short while," said Night Light as he left to visit his friends.
Starlight fiddling with her hooves, "Umm...don't take this the wrong way but why would you want me to be Spike's marefriend? I can't be good for him. I mean I used to rule a town with a iron hoof, not to mention I also have a plan to do away with all cutie marks."
Twilight Velvet giving Starlight a knowing look, "Those are precisely the reason I want you to be Spike's marefriend. Just like my Nighty, Spike is a stallion too nice for his own good. He need a mare who can be cunning and devious to protect him from ponies that would take advantage of him."
"Is that why you became Night Light's marefriend?", asked Starlight.
"Remember how I talk about those coltteasing mares? Well I kept hearing the whole lot of them said that they like Nighty as a friend but wouldn't date him. Hearing that got me so mad that during lunch I grab Nighty and gave him a big old kiss. Then I threatened to geld any mare that would even dare look at him. And that how me and Nighty begun dating. It was so adorable seeing Nighty get so flustered over our date. But back with Spike, I can imagined a lot of mares pretending to love him just to better themselves like that Rarity. Don't get me wrong I do like all of Twilight's friends but as Spike's mother Rarity rubbed me the wrong way. Even though she fully aware of Spike's crush, she doesn't do anything about it. A simple yes or no would be enough and while she keep Spike in Limbo, she use him to do menial labor. That why I need a mare like you to protect Spike from the coltteaser. Can I count on you for that, Starlight?", said a teary-eyed Twilight Velvet.
"Yes, of course. I do anything to protect Spike," cried Starlight as she start hugging Twilight Velvet.
Starlight and Twilight Velvet were still hugging as the door open, "Oh, and what do we have going on here."
Twilight Velvet looking at Night Light, "Just a mother bonding with her future daughter-in-law. So did you get the song."
"Of course, here you go, Starlight. It a song from their series, Ponieas and Herb. Heh heh, they got a little sappy when I told them about you and Spike," said Night Light as he hoofed Starlight some lyrics and a record.
"Thank you for everything, both of you," cried Starlight as she hug Night Light.
"Don't mention it, I just hope my friends song help you to capture Spike's heart. Just remembered behind every strong stallion is a stronger mare," said Night Light as he return Starlight's hug.
While hugging a blushing Starlight, Twilight Velvet whispered, "the next time you come for a visit I'll be expecting some grandragon, you hear."
With a final wave to Twilight Velvet and Night Light, Starlight ready the magic in her horn and release it teleporting herself back to the Rainbow Friendship Castle. As they were going back inside, Night Light said nervously, "Umm...Honey, you know that whole flirting with other mares thing was a joke, right?"
"Of course, Dear, but you're still sleeping on the couch, though," giggled Twilight Velvet nonchalantly as she walk upstairs.
Grabing a pillow and a blanket from the downstair closet, Night Light, laying on the couch, sighed, "me and my stupid herd dream."
Back at the castle while walking into the map room, Starlight, found Trixie performing magic tricks while Spike was watching. Starlight tapped the floor three times with her hoof. While Spike was looking at her, Trixie winked, "Well, will you just look at the time. The very tired and sleepy Trixie must be getting home if she is to put on her greatest performance tomorrow."
"Good luck," whisphered Trixie as she hoofbump Starlight before she left.
Turning back to Spike, Starlight asked, "Where is Twilight?"
"Apparently, Celestia summon her and the other to Canterlot to celebrate them getting their cutie mark. It seem like everypony forgot about it being my birthday as well, " sighted a sulking Spike as Starlight sent a silent thank you to Celestia and Luna.
"Well, I didn't forget and to be perfectly honest I have Trixie distracted you while I went all over Equestria looking for the perfect gift just for you," said Starlight as she comforted Spike.
"Thank you, Starlight, for being a true friend and I did like Trixie's distraction. Not too sound greedy but where is this perfect gift," said Spike as he wipe away his tear.
"Actually I like to sing you a song before I give you your present," said Starlight as her magic summon a record player.
"I should've known right from the start From how I felt When we we're together And even more so when we're apart But like a thief, you tiptoe in And you got under my skin You snuck your way right into my heart

"That was a beautiful song. Where you get it." said Spike as he cheered.
"It was from a couple of Night Light's friends, Dan Hoovenmire and Swampy Marsh. They have that new series called Ponieas and Herb. I don't know why they would called a dragon Herb" replied Starlight.
"Better than a pony name Ponieas. I mean that like calling a dog, Doglas. So, what up with you sing that song? Trying out for Equestria Idol?", smirked Spike.
"No...I kinda...sung it to express...my feeling...for you," said Starlight as she rub her fronthooves in a nervous manner.
"D...oes...that mean...you...l...ove,"-stuttered a blushing Spike as he was interrupted by Starlight kissing him- "does that answer your question?"
Spike putting his claw to his lips, "Does that mean you want to be my special somepony?"
Starlight glancing down drawing circle with her hooves, "I know you have a crush on Rarity...but...I like to give us a try."
Spike walk over to Starlight holding up her hooves, "You know after what happen on Heartwarming's Eve, I started thinking my crush on Rarity was going nowhere. I mean she called me child and I work for the bucking government, for Celestia's sake. Guess I'm trying to say is I'm willing to give us a try if you let me."
"Yes!", shouted a teary-eyes Starlight as she pull Spike into deep heart-fluttering kiss.
Spike breaking the kiss, "That was better than Heartwarming's Eve. So, what should we do now?"
Starlight gave Spike a sultry look, "Mmm...we could go to my room where you can help me with completing a theory."
After Starlight hit Spike's face with her tail she started climbing the stair leading to her room. Spike went chasing after her. Soon they came upon Starlight's room. As they were entering the room, Spike asked, "What theory am I helping with?"
Starlight closed and lock the door while taking hold of Spike with her magic. She laid Spike gently on the bed and climb on top of him then in a voice that speak of want and need, "How about we study the biological difference between a drake and a mare in a controlled enviroment? I'll be the mare, you'll be the drake, and this bed can be our enviroment."
Not only was this Spike's best birthday ever for he finally found his special somepony but he also learn that dragon's greed was no match for that of a mare.
Hello, everyponies. Due to OmniFox's inspiration, this story will become a part of a larger story I'm calling Spike and the Outcast Six. There will be seven arc that will have about seven chapter each. the each seven chapter will be an intermission chapter. the arcs will be split in the following order;
Starlight Glimmer= Spike and Starlight share cute awww moments before finding love with each other.
Trixie Lulamoon= After an incident, Trixie get parole under Spike's watchful eyes. Trixie put her friendship with Starlight in doubt when she fall for Spike.
Screwball(Diamond Tiara)= After her party is ruining by her mother, Diamond Tiara will do anything to buck against the standard of high society. Even making a deal with a chaos spirit. Diamond Tiara will be 14 and Screwball will be 16.
Zecora= With Spike's help, Zecora will investigate the disease that is killing off the timberwolves.
Lightning Dust= After a spiralling downturn when she was kick out of the Wonderbolts, Lightning Dust travel to the Everfree Forest to join Spike's airforce, the Shadowbolts.
Daring Do(A.K. Yearling)= Spike and Daring Do go on an adventure discovering the origin of the crystal heart and meeting Spike's mother.
Spike= Spike and his six marefriends must fight to save Equestria from a looming threat and Spike unexpectedly meet his father. no relation to season 8.
So I will be deleting this story and resubmiting as Spike and the Outcast Six when I have gotten the Screwball(Diamond Tiara) arc written up. I'll have to submit and hope it past moderation. Thanks you all for enjoying this story and sorry for the trouble I'll be causing.
