> Rainbow Dash and her Parents Adopt Scootaloo > by Creativa-Artly01 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After finishing off her paper, Scootaloo goes out to lunch with Rainbow and her family and there, they break the exciting news to her. "Scootaloo!" says Windy Whistles, "we got the adoption papers from the orphanage. We want to make you part of the family!" "Really!" Exclaims Scootaloo as she jumps into their arms, toppling them over. "Thank you! This is the best surprise ever!" That afternoon, Windy and Bo sit down and fill out the adoption papers. An hour later, the two take the papers and Scootaloo with them to the adoption agency and turn in the papers. They then head back to the Dash house and wait for the response to arrive. Three months later, the response arrives. The adoption went through. Scootaloo is now officially part of the Dash family. Rainbow is excited. She's always wanted a little sister. "I'm so glad to be part of the family!" says Scootaloo as she hugs Rainbow and Rainbow's parents. "We're glad you're part of the family too," they reply hugging her back. The four then head off to dinner to celebrate. At dinner at the Cloudsdale Cafe, the four just talk and talk and talk only stopping on occasion to eat. "This is the new start I've always wanted," sighs Scootaloo. After dinner, the four head back down to the Ponyville pier and play carnival games for hours on end. They play the basketball game, ring toss, and the ping pong toss game. Rainbow ruffles Scootaloo's mane and Scootaloo just laughs. Things can only go uphill from here. She definitely knows that much. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The day following her adoption, Scootaloo goes off with Rainbow Dash to the new Cloudsdale Amusement Park for the day. At the park, the two ride coasters, eat churros and enjoy ice cream cones. The two laugh as they walk through the park together. "I'm so glad you're officially my sister now," says Scootaloo. "And I'm glad you're mine!" replies Rainbow with a gigantic smile. Meanwhile, Bo's brother is off talking with Bo and Windy Whistles at the house. "So," says Bo's brother, Rainbow Blaze, "you finally adopted that little filly, Scootaloo! Good for you!" "Thanks," replies Bo. "It was the right thing to do." "It sure was," replies Bo's brother, Rainbow Blaze. Back at the amusement park, Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo squeal as they ride the MegaSpin Loop Coaster. A few seconds later, the three touch back down on the ground and head off to get carrot corn dogs for lunch. As they eat their carrot corn dogs, the two chat. "So," says Scootaloo, "why adopt me?" "Because you had no one else, you needed a family who cared, and I figured me and my folks would be the perfect family," replies Rainbow. "Well, thanks for that," replies Scootaloo. She stuffs the rest of the carrot corn dog into her mouth and swallows it. She and Rainbow then walk off to go play some ball toss. At the ball toss game, Scootaloo sinks every single one while Rainbow only sinks nine of the twelve. Rainbow stares in shock. "Wow! You're actually better at this than I am!" Scootaloo smiles as she takes her prize. The two then head back for the Dash house. Once they arrive back at the house, they are greeted by Windy, Bo, and Rainbow Blaze. Rainbow smiles and embraces her uncle in a hug. She hasn't seen him since the Equestria Games. "Hey speed hoof," he teases. "Hey to you too, Uncle Rainbow Blaze," replies Rainbow. She and her uncle then let go of the embrace and the five sit down to dinner. At dinner, the five talk. They are so glad to be a great big happy family. They'd honestly have it no other way. On the other hoof, Scootaloo is glad to just finally have a place where she belongs. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That night, Scootaloo is tucked into bed by Windy Whistles. "Do you want to hear a lullaby I used to sing Rainbow?" she asks with a smile. "Yes please," replies Scootaloo with a smile. Windy begins to sing. "Close your eyes, no need to fear, my brave little girl, I'm right here. You are brave, yes it's true, but even sometimes brave girls need their mommas too. Close your eyes, I'm right here. There's no need for you to fear. I'll protect you. I promise that much. I'll always have you. I'll always support you because you mean that much, because you mean that much to me." She then sees Scootaloo drift off to sleep then kisses her on the forehead and leaves the room. Windy sighs, she's so glad they took in Scootaloo as their own daughter. If they hadn't, she doesn't even dare try thinking about it. A few minutes later, Windy plops down on the couch alongside Rainbow Dash, her husband, and her brother in law. They then flip on the TV and watch the Buckball game against Appleloosa. Rainbow smiles as she watches Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Snails compete against Braeburn and his team. Everything is perfect. She has a new sister, she has successful friends, what more could she ever ask for? She honestly has no idea, and to her, that's the best feeling in the world. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days later, Scootaloo goes off to school for the day, being walked there by Rainbow for the first time ever. As they walk, Scootaloo just smiles. Once Rainbow drops her off, she waits for a moment as Scootaloo waves her a goodbye. She then flies off. After all, she still has a Wonderbolts practice to get to. At the Wonderbolts headquarters, Rainbow is greeted by Soaren. "So, I heard you adopted Scootaloo. Good for you! That's very admirable, Rainbow!" "Thanks, Soaren," replies Rainbow as she kisses him on the cheek. "Now let's get to practice." He nods and he flies off alongside Rainbow Dash. At practice, the two get into the formation along with the rest of the team. The two can't help but smile as they soar through the skies. Back at the school, Scootaloo gives a presentation on the perks of adoption for the rest of her class. As she speaks, she can't help but smile. "So, as you all know," says Scootaloo, "I was recently adopted by Rainbow Dash and her parents. The perks of this are three things: newfound support, a sense of belonging, and most importantly, a place to call home." She then goes into more detail before finally ending it off with a sweet picture of her flipping out at seeing Windy, Bo, and Rainbow holding the adoption forms. After that at recess, she is congratulated by Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. "Congratulations on finally getting a family to call your own!" says Apple Bloom. "Yeah, congratulations!" says Sweetie Belle. "Awe, thanks," replies Scootaloo embracing her friends in a hug. The three then head off to play on the swings. Scootaloo laughs and smiles all the while. At the end of the day, everything is going uphill and she knows that come 2:00 this afternoon, she will be picked up by Rainbow Dash and taken out for ice cream. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That afternoon at 2:00, Rainbow finishes up at practice and goes off to pick up Scootaloo from school. A few minutes later at the school, Rainbow is greeted with a hug by Scootaloo and the two head off to get some nice, cold ice cream. At the ice cream stand, the two happily sit and lick their ice cream cones. "How'd practice go?" asks Scootaloo. "It went well," replies Rainbow, "how'd your presentation go?" "Amazing!" replies Scootaloo. "Well, I'm glad," replies Rainbow. The two then finish up their cones and then head back to the Dash house. Back at the house, the two sit down and enjoy the newest Daring Do movie together: Daring Do and the Gold Goblet of El Dorado. As they watch the movie, the two sit quietly, both immersed to the extreme. A few minutes later, Windy enters the room and dusts her newly replaced Celestia plates in the background. That's when she notices the girls watching a movie and quietly leaves deciding to dust later, so as not to interrupt their bonding time. The girls, however, didn't even notice her enter or leave the room. Windy is so glad the girls are happy being sisters. She honestly wouldn't have it any other way.
