The shadow soon shown in the moonlight, revealing itself to be the slender pony. Everypony feared this nightmare creature. Whenever he was said to be around, ponies would hide in the basements under their basements. For those few brave souls that didn't hide in their basements, they were killed off one by one by the slender pony. The next morning, the ponies would come out from their hiding and discover dead bodies everywhere. They'd then let fear overtake them, the fear that they might be next," says Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow," asks Scootaloo, "what if they do manage to face him one to one, how would they defeat him?" "Hush, I'm getting there," replies Rainbow. She then promptly continues her story. "If the brave soul managed to face him and not get killed by him, they'd proceed to use a magic spirit dispelling spell called incantation of evil dispersion. If that didn't work, they'd peg him with a cinder block, killing him. If they didn't kill him, they'd be dead along with the others by morning. Still to this day, the slender pony is said to haunt the woods surrounding Sweet Apple Acres, awaiting to attack his next victim. Watch out for him, hide yourselves from his presence, and you'll come out alive. If you don't, you'll be sorry and a deadman." "When, when does he come to try and murder everypony?" asks Scootaloo, now rather frightened. "Every full moon," replies Rainbow. "He comes in the shadow of the full moon and takes his victims and kills them one by one." A few minutes later, a frightened Scootaloo runs off and hides in her tent. Rainbow soon realizes this and goes and apologizes for scaring her. Scootaloo gladly accepts the apology and Rainbow then stays with her until she finally falls asleep for the night. > The Demon in the Night > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Along time ago, long before Twilight Sparkle, and even the royal sisters, there was a demon pony, who only showed up at night. She was fierce, vile, manipulative, and all around feared by everypony. In her wake, dead ponies would follow as would dug up graves and broken glass everywhere. For years, she continued her destruction and fear. Every hundred years, she would kidnap fillies or colts to do her bidding. A few years later, the princesses were born. The birth of the two poked a hole in the demon with their purity. The demon mare was beginning to weaken. A hundred years later, the princesses went up against the demon mare and defeated her. "No! No! Your purity is killing me!" she squealed as she disappeared into a burst of smoke, cinder, and ash. The princesses then ran off and stumbled across Equestria. There, they began their rule, never letting the ponies know about their encounter with and destruction of the demon mare herself. > The Pumpkin Headed Demon Horse of Nightmare Night (A Night Tale Told by Twilight) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a dark, rainy night at the castle where Applejack, Rarity, and Twilight are having a sleepover. As they sit there, Twilight begins a story: the story of the Pumpkin Headed Demon Horse of Nightmare Night. "It was a dark and stormy night, a thousand years ago when he first appeared: the Pumpkin Headed Demon Horse of Nightmare Night. He was an ominous beast, feared by all the towns ponies. He did the bidding of Nightmare Moon herself. Every Nightmare Night, he lurks in the shadows and attacks the ponies that don't share their sweets with Nightmare Moon. Eventually, he started haunting everypony, not just those that refused Nightmare Moon candy. He terrorized everypony and made them scream. He did that for near two thousand years until Nightmare Moon finally returned from her imprisonment on the moon. Once she came back, he only did what she required of him which wasn't much. After Nightmare Moon was defeated and turned back into Luna, the demon horse faded away into memory for he wasn't terrorizing ponies anymore. It was a happy time for Equestria now that the beast was gone. Sometimes, ponies still say they hear his hoofbeats and hear his ear piercing screams, but alas, it is not the demon, it is only the wind trying to reunite itself with Nightmare Moon herself. The end." "Great story, Twilight," replies Applejack. "You managed to scare Rarity into her sleeping bag. Props for that." Twilight just laughs. She's glad her friends enjoyed her story even if it did scare them a little bit. > The Haunting Lullaby (A Night Tale About Flutterbat) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a dark and haunting night when she showed up. One night in the apple orchard, Applejack was just doing her nightly rounds when she stumbled upon the creature: the Flutterbat. As she stares in amazement, Flutterbat begins to hum a haunting melody, a haunting lullaby to draw a fruit spider into her mouth and then she chomps down on it. Applejack, now scared, runs all the way to Twilight's house and shakes the princess awake. "What's wrong?" asks Twilight groggily. "Twilight, Fluttershy, she's turned into a vampire bat again and she's in my orchard!" replies Applejack. Hearing this, Twilight hops out of bed and runs after Applejack towards the orchard. A few minutes later in the orchard, the two ponies call to their friend. "Fluttershy! Fluttershy!" they yell. "Come down here!" Flutterbat hears this and flies down and lands with a thud in front of the orange and purple ponies. "What are you doing here?" asks Flutterbat in a raspy voice. "You shouldn't be here. Get away from me!" She turns her face away from them and hides it under her wing. "Twilight! Use your magic to change her back!" begs Applejack. "I don't know if I can, not unless we can get a group of the vampire bats." Applejack then runs off and rounds up about fifty vampire bats and brings them back to Twilight. Twilight then initiates the spell and draws the vampire magic out of Fluttershy and puts it back into the bats. Once this is done, Twilight nods for Applejack to let the bats go and Applejack does so. Fluttershy then gets up and rubs her head. "What happened? Why am I in the orchard? Why do I have a spider in my teeth?" Asks Fluttershy confused. "You turned into Flutterbat again, but don't worry, we fixed it for good this time," replies Applejack. "Now, let's go inside and get you a blanket and a cup of tea. How does that sound?" "That sounds perfect," replies Fluttershy. The three then go inside and get Fluttershy a blanket and a cup of tea and then continue to explain everything that happened that night to her.
