Sweetie Belle, now a teen, has started going out with Button Mash and Rarity couldn't be prouder of her.
Sweetie Belle, now a teen, has started going out with Button Mash and Rarity couldn't be prouder of her. She can see her sister is happy and growing up into a wonderful young mare and to her, that's all that really matters.
It's a beautiful sunny day and Sweetie Belle is on yet another date with Button Mash. On their date, the two enjoy a simple lunch at the Hayburger before going to the arcade to beat it out on PacMan. The two are happy together, that's undeniable to everyone including Rarity, who is spying on them from behind a bush before sneaking back off to her boutique to work on her dresses for Sapphire Shores.
Meanwhile at the arcade, Sweetie Belle and Button Mash are playing PacMan, laughing all the while. A few hours later, Sweetie Belle wins-beating him at his own game but he doesn't mind because she's the love of his life. Button Mash kisses Sweetie Belle on the lips and she blushes. The two then go in for another round of PacMan. After two more hours at the arcade, the two leave and head for the fair grounds where they happily play ring toss and sink the froggy together. The two laugh all the while. After winning Sweetie two teddy bears, the two go and grab some popcorn and ice cream. The two enjoy it as they walk down the pier and stare out at the beautiful rainbow in the sky. The two share another kiss.
A few hours later, Button Mash drops Sweetie Belle off at the boutique and waves goodbye. Sweetie Belle smiles then blushes. She can't help but admit Button is the best thing that ever happened to her.
"How'd your date go?" asks Rarity with a smile.
"It was amazing!" replies Sweetie Belle. "We have another one Friday! I can't wait!"
"I'm happy for you sis," replies Rarity.
"How are the dresses for Sapphire Shores going?" asks Sweetie Belle.
"They're coming along fine," replies Rarity as she sews a dolphin into one of the outfits.
"That's good, I'm gonna go change and head out to meet up with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo," says Sweetie as she runs off to her room and changes out of her dress and headband. Rarity just smiles. Her little sister is growing up so fast and honestly, she doesn't mind it, but is, in fact, actually rather proud of her sister, her little Sweetie Belle.
At the clubhouse, the three talk about Sweetie Belle's recent date.
"How'd the date go? Tell us, tell us!" asks Apple Bloom.
"Fine, fine," replies Sweetie, "the date with Button Mash was perfect. We went to the Hayburger, the arcade, the fair grounds, we did everything. He even kissed me. It was so romantic!"
"That's great!" exclaims Scootaloo.
"You're so lucky Sweetie Belle!" says Apple Bloom.
Meanwhile over at Button Mash's house, his mother asks him how the date went.
"How'd the date with Sweetie Belle go?" asks his mother sweetly.
"It was amazing! We did the arcade and the fair grounds, we had a blast!" replies Button Mash.
"I'm glad, Mashy, you're growing up so fast and I couldn't be happier," replies his mother.
"Mom, don't call me Mashy, you know how I hate that nickname," replies Button Mash annoyed.
"Oh sorry, I forgot," replies his mother. Button Mash then goes up the stairs to his room and begins to play Legend of Zelda. Sweetie Belle is the Zelda to his Link and he'd have it no other way. He plays the game for hours as he thinks about what to do for their date on Friday. Should he take her to dinner and the arcade again or dinner and a movie? He doesn't know quite yet. Luckily it's only Tuesday, so he has some time to think about it.
Wednesday and Thursday seem to just fly by and Friday soon arrives. Meanwhile, at Rarity's boutique, Rarity asks Sweetie Belle if she's ready for the date.
"Are you ready for your second date?" asks Rarity sweetly with a smile on her face.
"Oh, absolutely!" replies Sweetie Belle. "I love Button Mash. He's so much fun to be around!"
"I'm happy for you sis," Rarity holds up a mirror and shows Sweetie Belle her mane updo.
A few hours later, Sweetie puts on a simple ruffled shirt and heads out on her date with Button Mash. Rarity waves them off as they leave. She can't believe how fast her sister has grown up. Even so, she's happy for her sister. She really and truly is.
A few minutes later, Button Mash and Sweetie arrive at the Ponyville Cafe for their date. As they order their lemonades, the two do so with a smile then share a kiss. A few minutes later, the waiter returns with their drinks. The two then continue to talk, drinking their lemonade in between every few sentences. Fifteen minutes later, the waiter returns and they order their food, Sweetie orders a salad and a fruit cup and Button Mash orders a baked potato and a daisy sandwich. About ten minutes later, the waiter returns with the food, which they happily eat, stopping every few bites to share stories, crack jokes, or just talk in general. A few hours later, the two pay and leave the cafe and head off to the arcade to play some more rounds of PacMan and SpeedRacer. The two couldn't be happier.
At the arcade, Sweetie continues to beat Button's flank at PacMan while he continually beats hers at SpeedRacer. The two laugh and joke as they continue to play the arcade games. The two play for several hours until the arcade closes. Once it closes, the two go get some ice cream before Button finally takes her home. The two enjoy spending their days together on these dates and they'd honestly have it no other way.
That night back in her bedroom at Rarity's boutique, Sweetie Belle just lays there and thinks about all the fun she's had on these last two dates with Button Mash. She's glad he's a part of her life and she'd have it no other way. After several hours of just lying there thinking about him, Sweetie falls about and begins to dream about her lover, her Button Mash. She has to admit her sister is right, love is a beautiful thing.
The next morning, Sweetie Belle goes and joins Rarity for breakfast before heading over to Button Mash's to pick him up to go to the comic store. A few minutes later at the comic store, the two begin to read through stacks upon stacks of comics and even buy several Daring Do and Masked Crusader ones. The two are happy. They laugh and giggle and point out things in each other's comics that the other missed. The two couldn't ask for anything better. Young love is in the air, and to the comic book owner, Rarity, and his mom, that is the clearest thing in the world to see.
After they leave the comic book store, the two go and get some ice cream, which they enjoy as they walk down the Ponyville pier, smiling as they walk, her head on his shoulder. After they finish their ice cream and their nice long walk, the two go to Button's house for the rest of the afternoon, where they happily play video games and action figures to their hearts contents. The two are happy together and that is all they ever wanted to be, was the love of each other's lives.
Five years later, Button Mash proposes to Sweetie Belle and she says yes. He's thrilled. He's so glad his dream girl has accepted his proposal. In the following weeks, the two eagerly start planning their wedding.
"What kind of cake should we have?" asks Button Mash.
"Vanilla bean with strawberry cream!" replies Sweetie with a smile.
"Agreed," replies Button Mash. "Vanilla and Strawberry is also my favorite combination."
"What kind of appetizers at the wedding reception?"
"Cheese curds, apples with peanut butter, and Rarity's raisin muffins!" replies Sweetie.
"And don't forget cheese and ham and cheese and turkey sandwiches," adds Button Mash.
"Of coarse!" replies Sweetie.
A few hours later, Sweetie goes off to Rarity's to get fitted for the wedding dress of her dreams. She's so glad it's her sister making the dress not some stranger.
"So, it's about time he asked you!" says Rarity with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm excited and nervous," replies Sweetie.
"And you should be, this is a big step in your life," replies Rarity pinning up part of the skirt of the dress.
"Rarity," asks Sweetie Belle, "why have you never married?"
"I chose fashion over stallions, I'm too flirty to ever stay with a single stallion, you know that," replies Rarity.
Meanwhile at his house, Button Mash pulls out his father's old black and white suit. It's the one he plans on wearing on their wedding day. Button smiles as he dusts it off and goes and pulls its matching bowtie out of the back of a drawer. He then blows the dust off of it.
"Seven months, seven months till the wedding," he sighs. His mother then appears in the doorway.
"I'm proud of you, son, do you know that?" she asks.
"I know, momma," replies Button Mash. "I'm glad to know you'll always have my back, since you know, dad ran off with a random mare one night after a drinking binge."
"Please don't bring your father up," she says, a tear in her eye.
"Oh, sorry," replies Button Mash. "Point is, I'm glad I'll always have you, momma." She comes over and gives him a hug.
"You make my day, son, everyday," replies his mother with a smile, still hugging him. The two then go on downstairs and enjoy dinner together. Button just smiles as he eats his dinner. Sweetie Belle is his world and soon, he's going to spend the rest of his life with her and he couldn't ask for more than that.
The next day, Sweetie meets up with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo at Sugar Cube Corner for milkshakes. After taking a brief break from drinking their shakes, Sweetie finally raises the question. "Girls, would you be my bridesmares?"
"Of coarse!" replies Apple Bloom.
"We'd love too!" replies Scootaloo.
"Thanks girls, that means the world to me!" replies Sweetie. The three embrace in a hug then let go of the embrace and finish their milkshakes. Once they're done with their milkshakes, they go off to the bowling alley for the day and play several rounds.
Sweetie Belle rolls first and gets a strike. "Yes!" she says to herself. Scootaloo rolls next, only hitting eight pins and on her second ball, gets a spare. Apple Bloom rolls last and gets a strike. "Yes!" Apple Bloom cheers to herself. Sweetie then rolls her second turn getting a double. Scootaloo rolls again, getting her first strike. Apple Bloom rolls her second getting a double. This continues for the next several turns for Sweetie and Apple Bloom while Scootaloo gets back to getting only eight or nine pins followed by spares. By the end of the game, Sweetie and Apple Bloom tie. The three embrace in a great big hug. They then head off to the fair grounds to ride the Ferris wheel.
Once on the Ferris wheel, the three take to the skies along with several other cars of ponies as the Ferris wheel starts its trip around in a circle. The Ferris wheel turns slowly for three turns before finally coming to a stop, the three hopping off and heading off to play the fair ground carnival games. Sweetie is going to enjoy these fun times while she can, after all, come seven months, she'll be a married mare and have responsibilities more than time to play.
It's a new day and Sweetie is getting fitted for a wedding gown of her choice by her big sister. "Rarity," she asks, "why did you never marry?"
"I'm married to my fashion, Sweetie Belle," she replies, "so I never had time to fall for a stallion."
Rarity gets back to sticking pins in part of the dress since Sweetie is of a smaller frame and stature than herself by like two or three inches. Once the dress is pinned, Rarity starts the mends. Sweetie just stands there all the while impatiently rolling her eyes. Three hours later, Rarity finally finishes mending the dress and then removes it from Sweetie so she can put the music note on the front like her little sister wants. Rarity is glad she finally gets to make a wedding dress for her sister. This is the proudest moment of her life and she's going to savor it while she can.
Sweetie Belle, on the other hoof, runs out the door and down to the florist to get the flower arrangements planned. At the florist, Sweetie tells the florist that she wants pink and white flowers in the arrangement along with dragon bell flowers. The florist agrees to this arrangement and begins to work on the special order after asking when she needs it for. "Seven months," she tells him and he gets right to work. Once this is done, Sweetie runs off to Pinkie's to tell her the cake flavor they want for the wedding cake. Everything is coming together perfectly. Sweetie couldn't be happier. Meanwhile, Button Mash is at the jeweler's, getting the rings made. He just hopes, as he sits and waits, Sweetie is getting the rest done in terms of the cake, flowers, and of course, the music and ice sculpture.
A few hours later, Button Mash leaves the shop with the promise that the rings will be done in six months time. He then returns to the house where he is greeted by his mother. "Hey mom," he sighs.
"Long day?" she asks.
"Yep, wedding planning is tough," replies Button Mash. His mother just giggles and smiles before leaving the room and returning to him with a lunch of grilled cheese and mac n cheese. He then happily eats his lunch before going to his room and getting on the phone with the tuxedo shop to rent a suit for seven months time for his wedding day. Everything is coming along slowly but surely and that is all he could ever hope for.
Seven months later, it's finally the day of the wedding. Button Mash gulps and then swallows nervously as he wipes the sweat from his forehead with his right forehoof. His nervousness then ceases as Sweetie walks down the aisle on Rarity's arm. She's glad her sister gets to present her. Sweetie Belle then takes her place facing Button Mash and the ceremony begins.
"We are gathered here today to unite two ponies in holy maretrimony. Sweetie Belle and Button Mash. The joining of two hearts and souls is a very special thing. It's a sign of oneness, a sign of unity. Now, we are going to share their story before the vows truly begin," says the priest pony.
The two then share their stories. Button shares his first then Sweetie shares hers. Rarity then comes up and shares a story about the two lovebirds. Once the stories are done, the two begin to share their vows. "I, Sweetie Roselynn Belle, take you Button Mash to be my lawfully wedded husband, through hard times and easy times, sickness and health, for all eternity," says Sweetie with a smile outstretched across her face.
"And I, Button Anthony Mash, take you, Sweetie Roselynn Belle, to be my lawfully wedded wife, through hard times and easy times, sickness and health, for all eternity," responds Button Mash.
"I now pronounce you mare and stallion, you may now kiss the bride!" replies the priest. The two then exchange rings and share a kiss. The two then run down the aisle and to the Grand H Hotel, where they do the reception with the beautiful decorations and decadent food and the fantastic ice sculpture.
Not long after the reception begins, Sweetie Belle is approached by her older sister. "Congratulations, Sweetie," says Rarity as she embraces her little sister in a hug. "I'm so proud of you!"
"Thanks, big sis, that means the world coming from you," replies Sweetie with a smile. The two then chat for a few minutes before Button comes and drags Sweetie off for their pictures to be taken as they slice the cake. The two couldn't be happier. They are so glad to finally be husband and wife, mare and stallion, for as long as they both shall live.
