> An Apple and a Strawberry > by Creativa-Artly01 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- One day, a teenage Apple Bloom was walking through the market when she same him, Strawberry Sunrise and Strawberry Swirl's little brother Strawbert. Her heart then begins thumping. "Could I, could I really love a Strawberry?" Apple Bloom questions. She shakes it off and runs towards Sweet Apple Acres. A few minutes later, Apple Bloom busts through the door, breathing heavily. "Hey sugar cube, where have you been?" asks Applejack. "I was at the market, watching Strawberry Swirl's baby brother from behind the cider bins," says Apple Bloom. "I told you not to spy on that boy, he's not a good pony, neither are his sisters," replies Applejack. "Why don't you like the Strawberries?" asks Apple Bloom. "Because they think apples are the dirt of the earth," replies Applejack scowling. "Let me guess, the Honest Apple incident," replies Apple Bloom. "Yep," replies Applejack sitting in the chair behind her. "This feud is silly and you shouldn't indulge it, go see if you can make things right. If not for yourself, do it for me," Apple Bloom responds. Apple Bloom heads up the stairs to her bedroom. She just hopes she got through to her big sister. In her bedroom, Apple Bloom reties the ribbon in her hair and puts on some nice apple cinnamon perfume. She then sneaks out the back and goes to meet Strawbert in the market. "Psst, Strawbert," whispers Apple Bloom from behind the cider barrels, "Strawbert, come here." Strawbert follows the whispering and soon finds Apple Bloom. "Bout time you showed up!" he replies with a smile. "You ready for our date." Apple Bloom nods. The two run off to the fair grounds where they enjoy sweets and games and carrots on a stick. The two smile and share a small kiss. "If only our sisters could get along," sighs Apple Bloom. "Yeah, if only," replies Strawbert rubbing his neck. The two throw their sticks in the trash and head off to play ring toss. At the ring toss station, Apple Bloom beats Strawbert five rings to three. She smiles as she accepts her giant teddy bear. Strawbert just smiles at her. He's glad she's happy with him, even though he is a Strawberry. Meanwhile, Applejack took her sister's advice and is over at the Strawberries house trying to apologize. "I'm sorry for saying strawberries were sickeningly tart and sour," says Applejack. "No you're not, 'member, it was your honest opinion, you were being honest and we can tell that you're lying to us just so your sister can date our brother," reply the Strawberry twins in unison. Applejack huffs then storms out of the Strawberries house. She did her best. All she can do now is hope Apple Bloom can somehow survive in the middle of this feud. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days later, while his big sisters are out of town at the main strawberry jam production factory, Strawbert goes out on yet another date with Apple Bloom at the Ponyville Cafe. As they sip their lemonades, the two smile at each other then share a kiss. A few minutes later, they approached by the waiter, a pony named Claud. "What would you like to eat today?" asks Claud with a smile. "I'll have the apple fritter flapjacks with pecan crumble and maple syrup on top," says Apple Bloom. "I'll have the strawberry cream pancakes, extra butter," says Strawbert with a smile. "Sure thing, I'll be out with those in ten," replies Claud. Ten minutes later, Claud returns with their pancakes and places them in front of them. The two thank him and he goes off to tend to the other guests. The two smile as they cut into their pancakes. The two then take a bite of their pancakes and smiles appear on their faces. The two then continue to eat the pancakes, not saying a word until they're gone. Once they are, the two get back to talking. "It's weird that our sisters don't like each other just because of silly differing opinions," sighs Apple Bloom. "I know," replies Strawbert. The two then share another kiss, leave their payment on the table, and leave the cafe. They head off to the fair grounds to ride the Ferris wheel. As they ride, the two giggle, laugh, and have an all around good time. Once they exit the wheel, the two go off and Strawbert wins Apple Bloom a giant teddy bear from the ring toss game. As he walks her home, she just smiles and kisses him on the cheek. At her house, the two share a final kiss before parting ways. Apple Bloom loves him, now if only they didn't have to go behind their sisters backs in order to do that. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few weeks later at the Ponyville Spring Bash, Apple Bloom happily dances with Strawbert while Tender Taps stares at them, jealous of what they have. Apple Bloom soon notices and walks over to see if he's okay. "Are you okay?" asks Apple Bloom. "No, I'm jealous of you and Strawbert, why'd you choose him over me? What do you see in that Strawberry?" "I...I don't know," replies Apple Bloom. "But we had it so good," replies Tender Taps. "I know, I just..." replies Apple Bloom. She then runs off, eyes filled with tears. Strawbert runs after her and so does Tender Taps. They both want to see if she's okay. After all, it's a bit of both their faults that she is overwhelmed. The two soon find her crying in Sugar Cube Corner, Pinkie and Applejack doing their best to try and comfort her. "Is she alright?" asks Strawbert. "She's fine, just overwhelmed," replies Applejack, "just give her some space for now." The two nod and leave Sugar Cube Corner. The two then wait outside for several hours before Apple Bloom even works up the courage to go and talk to Tender Taps and Strawbert. "I'm sorry for running off," says Apple Bloom with a sigh. "It's okay, you were overwhelmed, we understand," reply the boys in unison. "Well, I'm glad," says Apple Bloom hugging them. The three then run off and enjoy the rest of the dance, Apple Bloom, this time, alternating who she dances with to give them both a turn. This makes them happy. Maybe they can both have Apple Bloom in some small part even though she can truly only date one of them. Even so, the two will gladly take half of Apple Bloom's attention any day. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Apple Bloom is up with the sun and goes downstairs to try and sneak out of the farmhouse, where she is stopped by Applejack. "Where are you going?" asks Applejack. "To the market," replies Apple Bloom, "to see Grandpear, why?" "I know you're bluffing, you're going to see that Strawberry boy again aren't you?" "No, no," lies Apple Bloom. "I'm going to see Grandpear." "Fine, say what you will, I won't tell anyone," replies Applejack. Apple Bloom thanks her sister then runs out the door and towards the market. A few minutes later at the market, Apple Bloom and Stawbert hang out at Grandpear's stand, enjoying the free samples of pear jam. "This is so good! I can't believe I've never had it before!" says Strawbert. "It's one of my favorite things in the world!" replies Apple Bloom with a giggle. The two stuff the last of the jam covered biscuits in their mouths. Grandpear then gladly hands them a few pear pastries for them to enjoy. The two gladly eat the pastries, favoring every single bite. After enjoying a few more pear treats, the two head off for the movie theater to enjoy the new animated movie Star Crossed Princess. It's the pony equivalent of Romeo and Juliet but with a happy ending. At the movie theater, the two buy a thing of popcorn and their tickets. The two then go inside the theater and enjoy the movie after several Pony-cola, Hayshey, and Ponico commercials. As the movie begins, Strawbert takes Apple Bloom's hoof in his, not noticing his twin sisters in the very top row of the theater spying down at them. The two quietly sit and enjoy the movie for the three and a half hour timespan. Once it's done, the two are confronted by his sisters, and he's torn apart from Apple Bloom but not before waving goodbye. Apple Bloom runs after him but soon loses him. "Why?" she cries, "why do we have to be torn apart all because his sisters hate apples and mine hates strawberries? This is silly." She bows her head and heads on her way home at full speed. All she wants to do right now is lay on her bed and cry. Back at home, Applejack enters Apple Bloom's room to find her crying on her bed. "What happened?" she asks. "After the movie finished, Strawbert's sisters dragged him off, I guess they had been sitting above us but I don't know for sure. Why is there a feud after silly differing opinions?" She begins to cry once again. "Why can't you three just make up and make things right?" "Now, now," says Applejack, trying to comfort Apple Bloom but to no avail. After a half hour of trying, Applejack leaves Apple Bloom to her tears. Maybe what's best for her sister right now is just for her to be left alone. Even so, Applejack can't help but feel all of this is somehow all her fault, which in all honesty, it is. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later that day, Applejack goes back to the Strawberry Twins's house and asks them to let go of the past once again, for her little sister's sake and the two, reluctantly give in. Strawbert, who was in the kitchen at the time, heard the whole conversation and once they finished, he leaped for joy. He can now see Apple Bloom without getting in trouble with them. Applejack can't wait to tell her sister the good news. A few minutes later, Applejack returns home and then enters Apple Bloom's room. "Good news, sugar cube," says Applejack with a smile, "the feud is over. You're allowed to see Strawbert freely now!" "Thank you, Applejack," says Apple Bloom as she leaps up and embraces her big sister in a hug. "Thank you, so, so much!" "Don't mention it, I did it all for you," replies Applejack. The two sisters then go outside and watch the stars fly by overhead with smiles on their faces. Things can only get better from here. They can both definitely agree to that. > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days later, Apple Bloom and Strawbert are happily strolling through the apple orchard together. As they walk, Apple Bloom catches an apple as it falls from the tree and takes a massive bite out of it. She then offers Strawbert some and he then happily takes a bite. They then throw it to the ground and roots begin to sprout and a sapling begins to grow. "Fertile soil much," giggles Strawbert. Apple Bloom lets out a chuckle. She then places her head on his shoulder and they continue their stroll. She's so glad that he's her boyfriend. She couldn't ask for a better one. A few hours later, the two finish up their stroll and head off to the Hayburger for lunch. There, the two happily enjoy two hayburgers apiece, a thing of curly fries each, and two large milkshakes and two juice boxes. As they eat, the two share an important chat. "So, since we've been dating for awhile, don't you think we should tie the knot soon?" asks Strawbert. "I think it is indeed that time," replies Apple Bloom with a smile. "After all, Sweetie is already engaged." "Okay," replies Strawbert, "then I think it is indeed time too." The two then smile as they take long sips of their milkshakes. They are so glad that they'll be heading down the road to tying the knot soon and they can't wait! > Chapter 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few weeks later, after a stroll through the park, the two stop in front of the fountain. There, Strawbert gets down on one knee and pulls out a necklace with an apple shaped diamond on it. "Apple Bloom," he asks, "will you marry me?" "YES! Yes!" squeals Apple Bloom. He then stands up and fastens the necklace around her neck. The two then share a great big kiss. Apple Bloom can't wait to tell her sister and brother. The two then leave the park and head for the Hayburger, where they meet up with Sweetie Belle and Button Mash and Scootaloo. The five then sit down and order their drinks, all lemonades. They then all order their meals. As they eat, the five talk. "So, both my best friends are engaged, I can't believe it!" says Scootaloo. "Yeah, I never would've thought I'd end up with the true love of my life because of you know what," responds Apple Bloom with a giggle. "Well, since the day we first met, I knew me and Button were meant for each other," responds Sweetie Belle with a smile. "I've never found my special somepony," responds Scootaloo. "No one cares to date a disabled pony like myself." She looks at her wings. "Ya know?" "Oh Scootaloo," says Sweetie Belle, "don't go there. You'll find your special somepony someday too." "I sure hope so," responds Scootaloo. She then takes a sip of her lemonade and a giant bite of her hayburger. After lunch, the friends part ways. Sweetie and Button head to Rarity's and Apple Bloom and Strawbert head to Sweet Apple Acres. There, the two enjoy some time together in the orchard before heading inside to meet up with Applejack and Big Mack. "Hey sis," says Applejack. "How's your day been?" "It's been great!" responds Apple Bloom with a slight giggle. "Strawbert asked me to marry him!" "It's true," responds Strawbert. "Congratulation you two, I'm so proud of you!" responds AJ with a smile as she sweeps her sister up into the air in a great big hug. "Applejack, put me down, you're embarrassing me," says Apple Bloom. "Oh sorry," responds Applejack as she places Apple Bloom back down on the ground. "I just got carried away." "No kidding," says Apple Bloom as she straightens out her ribbon. A few minutes later, Big Mack comes into the farmhouse and Apple Bloom relays the good news once again. "Hey big brother, I'm engaged!" says Apple Bloom with a smile. "I'm proud of you little sis," responds Big Mack as he messes up her mane with his hoof. She then straightens out her hair and thanks him. She's so glad her siblings are proud of her. They are definitely getting roles in the wedding. She knows that much already. Now, she has to start planning the wedding.
