> Equestria Super Powered Pony League > by Creativa-Artly01 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equestria-320, Universe of Heroes It's a beautiful, sunny day in Equestria. Lina Jade, better known as Radiance, is tending to her fashion store in the center of Maretropolis. "Such a beautiful dress, my client Miss Fanciful is going to love it!" exclaims Lina. A few moments later, Fanciful walks through the door. "How's my dress coming along?" she asks Lina sweetly. "It's actually done," replies Lina with a smile. Fanciful walks over and observes the dress. "It's perfect, thank you Lina, I'll be sure to recommend you to my friends for sure," she replies as she takes the boxed dress and walks out the door. Meanwhile, Partinella, better known as Fillysecond, is throwing a party for her nephew and niece. They're the two ponies that always bring a smile to her face. Her sister, Maudine, just smiles as she watches her children beg for balloons from her sister. "You always make them happy, they're always glad to see you, thanks for making their birthday so special," says Maudine to Partinella at the end of the party. "Don't mention," says Partinella as she hugs her sister before her sister, niece, and nephew head home. Partinella sighs. She's so glad she can always put a smile on everypony's face including the almost always stern Maudine. Meanwhile, in a darker side of town, Nightmare Moon and Mane-iac are plotting revenge against the Power Ponies in an old underground scientific laboratory in an old cave. "How do we stop these ponies?" groans Nightmare Moon. "You're supposed to be the smart one with the plan, Jacklyn." "And I have a plan," groans Mane-iac as she slaps her face and drags her hoof back down. "We attack their main hiding hole: The Hall of the Equestria Super Powered Pony League base." Nightmare Moon rolls her eyes. "You sure that's the smartest thing to do?" "It's the only thing to do at this point," replies Mane-iac. What other option do we have? Back in Harmane Harbor not far outside of Maretropolis, Annie Apples, better known as Mistress Marevolous, tends to her father's sheep and pigs. "Good job, Annie," says her father as she tosses food into the family silos. "Thank you, father," replies Annie with a grin. "Can I go play with Mason and Apple Belle now?" "Okay, you can go and hang out with your siblings now," says her father. Annie runs off to join in on her siblings fun at the lake. "Took you long enough," says Apple Belle as Annie arrives at the lake. "Sorry," replies Annie. "Dad had me busy filling the silo." She then jumps into the lake which causes a giant splash. As she splashes down, she splashes her siblings who burst out laughing. They're just glad she could join them. In Maretropolis, Dixon Zappelynn, better known as Zapp, is flying with her flying team The Flying Warriors, the best flying team in Equestria. After hours of practice, they finish for the day and part ways after telling the captain they're taking their leave for the day. Once free for the day, Dixon heads off to the comic store to get the newest Daring Do comic book and action figure that just came in. At the comic store, Dixon grabs the comic and action figure as well as the new set of Daring Relics card set and checks out. "That'll be twenty five pits and four mare tokens," replies the desk clerk. Dixon hands him the money then leaves the store with her purchase and flies home. Back at her home, Dixon begins to read her new comic after she puts her cards into her card holder and action figure in her collection. She enjoys the comic book and reads it over a hundred times straight. Once she's done with reading it a hundred times over, she goes off to fly for awhile. Meanwhile in the Maretropolis Library, Materna tends to all the ponies who are wanting to check out books. She sighs as she stamps through each book. Her life is so dull in comparison to her friends' lives. Fifteen hours later, the library closes and Materna locks up and goes to her home, a small apartment on the outskirts of Maretropolis. "Why is my life so dull, so basic?" she sighs as she unlocks the door and goes inside. Once inside, she is greeted by her brother Strongbo. "How was your day, sis?" he asks. "Boring as always," Materna replies. She then plops down on the couch beside him. How she's ready for a new villain to face off against already! When she's not fighting villains, her life is such a bore. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile at Brizzy's Cafe and Lounge for Non Powered Ponies, the non powered pony generation is enjoy their food and their bowling and pin balling. Brizzy wipes the counter top as he smiles up at his customers. No one knows his cafe and lounge exist and he hopes to keep it that way. Over at the Hall of the Equestria Super Powered Pony League, a pony named Lilac Evergreen is tending to the hall's garden. She plants new seeds, pulls weeds, and waters the plants. Tending to the Hall's garden is her favorite thing to do. Meanwhile, in the main area of the Hall, Golden Touch, Wonder Mare, and Jubilant are having a meeting with Tasmanian, Dream Walker, and Elegant Whisper. Once she's done with the garden, Lilac joins them. "Bout time you could make it?" says Golden Touch as Lilac enters the room. "Well, someone has to tend to the Hall's garden," replies Lilac, "and that just happens to be my specialty. What'd I miss?" "Mission assignments," Golden Touch replies with a faded smile on his face. "What's my assignment?" Lilac asks. "Your task, Evergreen, you are on a team with me, Wonder Mare, Tasmanian, and Elegant Whisper," he replies. "We are going to be going after Nightmare Moon and Mane-iac and try to find their hiding hole while Jubilant and Dream Walker are on watchman duty a few miles away from where we think Nightmare Moon and Mane-iac are." A few minutes later, the two teams part on their assignments. Meanwhile, the Power Ponies get the notification from the main team from the cave and head out in search of Mane-iac and Nightmare Moon as well. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a new day. Lina is walking back to her shop from the fashion store when she notices something off putting. She drops her stuff in her store then gets into costume and goes to explore. She follows the shadow to an old abandoned building and watches as the shadow transforms into Nightmare Moon. She's shocked. She uses her gem notification sender or GNS to contact her fellow Power Ponies and the rest of the heroes who soon come to her aid. "I'm surprised you found her," says Matter-Horn as she takes her stance behind Radiance. The other hero ponies follow her lead. Once they're in their group, they go after Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon turns around and strikes down the ponies with a bolt of lightning except for Zapp who sucks it into her pendant, helps her friends to their feet, and they go at Nightmare Moon once again. This time, they take her by surprise and strike her down. The ESPPL then take her off and lock her in the Brigade: their super powered villain ponies holding chamber style prison. Even though Nightmare is locked up, they know they still have to locate the Mane-iac. For now, though, they have to go after the villain known as Shriek Owl. It's a sonic voiced baddy who wants to take over Maretropolis. Back in the main downtown of Maretropolis, the ESPPL is attacking Shriek Owl with their sonic voiced weapon Canary Voice. The two engage in a full blown voice battle with Shriek Owl soon being overpowered and bound and his mouth muzzled with a voice dampener muzzle and taken back and locked up in the Brigade. "Why do villains never learn?" sighs Canary Voice as she shakes her head. "I don't know," replies Golden Token. At the Brigade, Canary Voice throws Shriek Owl into a cell and then goes off for her date with Sharp Shooter leaving Wonder Mare to tend to the villains since Wonder owes her one anyway. On her date, Canary Voice and Sharp Shooter go to a movie theater after a dinner at the most elegant and expensive restaurant in all of Maretropolis. She can't help but enjoy herself. Dates together are their way to let loose and truly be themselves and that's what they love. Meanwhile, back at her store, Lina tends to three ponies she is looking to hire as the new manager at her store. "So," says Lina, "why should I hire you?" "Well," starts the first one, a stallion named Crescent Harp, "I'm hard working, focused, and always stay on task. I'm also willing to do whatever I need to to get clients in the door. My personality is one everypony loves. I should have no trouble getting you business." "Cut down on the ego a little bit and I'll think about it," Lina replies to him. "Next!" "Well," starts the second one, a sweet light green mare named Spring Flower, "I'm sweet, have a chill and relaxed nature, am super focused, and just all around love other ponies and love to help them with their needs." "Final pony please," requests Lina. "Well," starts the final pony, "the name is Cartier. I moved here from Canada to get into fashion. It's my first love. I'd love to manage your store because of that." "Well," replies Lina, "Cartier, you can be my newest designer in the store, but Spring Flower is the new manager." The two flip out. "Thank you, I can't wait to get started!" says Cartier excitedly. "I can't wait to design clothes to put in your store!" "And I can't wait to be the new manager! Thank you so much!" replies Spring Flower with a smile. "I'll see you two soon," says Lina. "Have a good day." The three head out of the store. Cartier will get right to work on his designs. Spring Flower will try to come out of her shell a little more. The two finally have the jobs of their dreams and they have Lina to thank for that. Back at the Hall, the main leaders of the team continue to try to track down Mane-iac. "Where are you? Where are you, Mane-iac?" sighs Golden. "Where could you possibly be?" > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a new day and the ESPPL has gotten word of a villain that is literally a walking bomb named Atomica. Golden Token then sends out a team consisting of himself, Matter-Horn, Fillysecond, Saddle Rager, Steel Stallion, Steel Mare, and Fusion to stop her. A few minutes later, they arrive at an old mill where they confront her and with Matter-Horn's expertise they soon convince her to hand herself in peacefully. Golden then sedates her and they lock her in the Brigade. Meanwhile, another team consisting of Marevolous, Zapp, Radiance, Razer, and Wavetress are handling Mane-iac and her right hand stallion Hexon Quintz. After several hours of fighting, Marevolous finally gets them lassoed and Radiance sedates them with a smoke filled stone she created herself called le gemous gaseous. A few minutes later, these two big bads are also locked up in the Brigade. Back at the Hall after the three villains have been locked up, everypony sighs a sigh of relief. They're glad another three villains are behind bars. Just the same, Golden can only think of the villains they have left to stop because he knows that the world is never truly going to be safe from evil. He just has to do the best he can to lock up the most of it that he possibly can. Meanwhile, Wonder Mare is in the training hall working with some new younger recruits including a young filly named Babby, who goes by the superhero name, Babsmare, she's a super powered little filly who can fly and also has a good sense in when it comes to building things that are practical as well as get the job done. She's also training a young colt named Brixton Manners, who is a young colt struggling with controlling his heat powers which he shoots from both his hooves and his eyes. She knows she has a long road ahead of her, but she knows, it's always worth it when it comes to training younger heroes to take on the mantels that she and the others will eventually pass down as they grow older. She smiles as she watches the two go at it in hoof to hoof combat as she reminisces back to the times she too used to go at it in hoof to hoof combat against her mother and the other Amarians back on her home island of Amara as a child. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, in another part of Maretropolis, a young super powered pony lies curled up in the cold underneath an old bridge. He uses his heat powers to warm himself, hoping some pony will find him. A few minutes later, he is found by two nonsuperpowered elder ponies named Lily Petal and Lancelot. They take the young pony in and raise them as their son. As he grows up, he begins to show more of his powers and to help him, they turn to the Equestria Super Powered Pony League who gladly agree to train the colt. The very next day, he starts training. "Are you sure I can do this?" asks an unsure Mason. "I'm sure you can, Flame Hoof!" replies Golden Token and Wonder Mare from the control room's heat resistant glass. He shoots a beam of fire at the targets, turning them to ashes. He continues this routine for several more hours before breaking for lunch. "Good job today," says Wonder Mare as she passes him on her way to her table where she sits down and begins to eat her meal. Once she's done, she flies off, to where, he's not quite sure, so he asks Golden. "Golden?" asks Mason, "where is Wonder Mare going?" "Today is her homeland's ten thousand year anniversary, so she's going home," replies Golden, "to a place called Armana. It's a place where only mares and fillies live." "Sounds like paradise," replies Mason. He then gets his food and goes and sits with the other young heroes who he hopes to make friends with. At the table, he talks with the other young recruits. He even learns that one has powers similar to his own and the group become close friends with him and the other colt with powers just like his becoming the closest of best friends. He feels like he has a home now that he's training at the Hall. He's no longer an outcast like he was on that little patch of land with only five buildings surrounding him back at home with Lily Petal and Lancelot. Here, he finally has come into his own as a pony, but still has yet to come into his own as a hero, but he knows, he will with time and plenty of training. Meanwhile on the island of Armana, Wonder Mare goes to greet her mother for the first time in ten thousand years. "Hello mother," says Wonder Mare as she approaches the celebration area that is alight with lanterns. "Hello my daughter, how you've grown!" her mother, Amartus replies. "I'm glad to be home," replies Wonder Mare as she walks over to her mother who then embraces her in a hug. "And I'm glad you're home," replies her mother. The two then go over and join in on the festivities. The two, after the festivities come to a close tonight, go off to the old gazebo to talk. "Will you ever leave the world of stallions, my dear Miana?" asks her mother, Amartus. "No, I don't ever believe I shall," replies Wonder Mare, "because it's my home now. It's where my friends are. It's where, it's where my love is. It's where Golden is." "Falling in love with a stallion is futile, my daughter," replies her mother. "No it's not, you wouldn't know," replies Wonder Mare. "Actually I would," replies her mother, "because you see, I fell in love with a stallion once. He was a powerful unicorn. His name was Starswirl. He was a wizard from the world of stallions but the power corrupted him, so I left him, but not after falling pregnant with his daughter, a mare you know as Akimale. That name translates to "heir of the star" or in stallion's terms: Trixie." "You're telling me I have a sister?" says a shocked Miana. "Yes, I am," sighs Amartus. "I just wish you hadn't learned it like this." She bows her head over her hands. Wonder Mare sees this as her cue to leave, so she flies off to her childhood tower for the night. She'll return to the world of stallions, as her mother calls Equestria, tomorrow. The next day, Wonder Mare returns home. There, she is greeted at her apartment by Golden. She lets him in and she tells him the news. "Golden," says Wonder Mare, "I have a sister. Her name is Trixie and she is a very powerful unicorn. I need to know where I can find her." "Find her?" asks Golden puzzled. "She lives in an old junky cart on the outskirts of town." The two then stop talking and get right to kissing. After all, finding Trixie can always wait until tomorrow. > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Miana goes to Trixie's old trailer on the outskirts of town and asks to talk. She takes a deep breath then knocks on the door. "Here goes nothing," she sighs. She knocks and Trixie soon answers. "What do you want?" snaps Trixie. "Trixie," replies Miana, "I just wanted to talk. I think you may be my sister." "Come in," replies Trixie. Miana comes in and Trixie closes the door behind her. The two then sit down. "What do you mean you're my sister?" asks Trixie. "As far as I know, I'm an only child." "Then let me ask you this, who is your mother?" asks Miana. "A mare named Amartus, why?" asks Trixie. "Because that's my mother too," replies Miana. "We really are sisters then! I always wanted a sister!" squeals Trixie. "Oh joy! Joy to the Great Celestia!" The two continue to talk for hours and catch up. Miana is glad to know that she isn't the only Armanian in stallion's world. For her, it gives her a bigger sense of belonging and she couldn't ask for more than that. She really and truly couldn't. > Chapter 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, back at the Hall, all the ponies are gathered around as they get their mission assignments for the day from Golden Token. They all hope they get good ones. "Marevolous and Zapp, you're on training duty with the new recruits," the two nod and then head off to the training room where the recruits are waiting. "Radiance, Matter Horn, and Filly Second," says Golden Token, "there's a villain named Shatter on the loose, catch him." The three nod and head off. "Saddle Rager, Razer, Tension Man, Skelter, and Super Stallion, you're job is to track down a new big bad named Daybreaker." The group heads off in search of Daybreaker. Little do they know that Daybreaker is Great Celestia herself. Golden then assigns the final group for the day. "Super Mare, Jubilant, and Hawkmane, a foal has gone missing. His name is Fleet Hoof. The police think it may be a foalnapping. Find him and bring him home." The three nod and head off. A few hours later, Razer and his team throw Daybreaker into the Brigade after a long five hour battle with her. They then head off satisfied to know the world is safe from yet another overpowered big bad. Not long after that, Radiance's team returns and throws a knocked out Shatter into the Brigade as well. A few hours later, he wakes up and wonders where he is as he's confused. Meanwhile, the foalnapping team dubbed "Rescue Beta" has had no such luck finding the missing colt. They search for twenty days before finding him and his foalnappers in an old abandoned building off of Mane Avenue in downtown Blue Blood Haven. They knock out the foalnappers and return Fleet Hoof to his parents who are glad to have their son back, so much so that they give his rescuers a little gift which they humbly accept before flying off to return to the Hall with the bad guys in tow, who they throw in the Brigade on their way back to the Hall. "I take it your mission was successful Rescue Beta," says Golden Token as that team flies through the door. "Indeed it was," replies Hawkmane. "He's back at home with his parents, safe and sound." "That's good," replies Golden, sighing a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, Wonder Mare is out in the garden just looking at an old locket her mother gave her before she left the island. She rubs it with her hoof to clean off the dust before gently popping it open and looking inside at the picture of herself as just a filly beside a picture of her mother as a young mare. She just smiles. She then closes it back up and goes inside to the Main Hall where she joins the others. She may not be in her birth home anymore, but she knows that this is her home now and she'd have it no other way. > Chapter 8 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That day after returning to her store from a mission, Lina gets out of costume and into a nice, breathable dress and then gets to work on a new dress design she's been working on. It's a simple gown made out of pink silk and blush colored satin and lace. She sews everything together with thread, needle, and her magic. After several hours, she finishes the dress and starts on another one. Meanwhile, in the main area of the store, customers are happily buying dresses and hand sewn saddles that they've had their eyes on for weeks on end. Once the customers are gone, she puts the new dress out on display. She then gets back to work on the second dress which is a light yellow chiffon with light orange and pink flower accents. It's her new spring line up and she couldn't be any more excited. After several hours, she finishes that dress and puts it out on display as well. Once that one's on display, the starts on a third dress, one that showcases her new Glitterton diamonds. Five hours later, she finishes that one and puts it on display. She then locks up and leaves the store for the night as do her fellow designers who have also been working on new spring designs of their own. It's been a busy day and they can all agree it's time to head home and get some sleep for the night. Back at the Hall, Golden Token keeps an eye on his nieces and nephew while his sister is at a meeting and his brother in law is out at army training for the entire week. He couldn't help but offer to foalsit since they're both so busy. Besides, he loves his nieces Amber and Tulip and nephew Digger. He plays toys with them and tells them stories and gives them pony back rides. He smiles all the time he does it. He loves spending time with them and wouldn't ask for it any other way. A few hours later, he puts them down to bed. He then goes off to the reading room of the Hall and pulls out a book and sits down to read. His sister won't be done with her meeting for a few more hours, so he has time to read his book. He puts on his glasses and begins to read. Two hours later, his sister Angel comes by and picks up her foals. He puts down his book and greets her. "They weren't any trouble, were they?" she asks him. "No, no trouble at all," replies Golden with a smile. "That's good, thanks again," she says before leaving. He smiles before closing the door behind her. He can't help but feel lucky that he got Angel as a sister because to him, she's the best and most supportive sister in the entire world. > Chapter 9 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- One day in early morning, Cartier stops by the store to work on his designs in the wee hours of the morning before Lina finally opens it up for the day. His new line is a Canterlot Chic style that he can't wait to share with the world. Meanwhile, at her home, Spring Flower is brushing her hair getting ready for another long day of managing the store, while at her apartment on the other edge of town, Lina is finishing up a spring veil to display alongside her dresses when she comes to the store later. Three hours later, the two mares arrive at the store. Lina puts her veil on a mannequin and displays it alongside the rest of her Spring Couture lineup. Cartier then comes out and puts his designs on display on his mannequins on the far side of the store. Fifteen minutes later, the two open the store for business. Everything goes as normal until Lina is pulled away to tend to some business elsewhere. She gets into costume and heads off to see what Golden needs her to do this time. She sighs as she flies off on one of her levitating gems she can create, "the job of a superhero is never truly done. I'm glad I hired a manager or else my store would flop." At the Hall, Lina gets her mission from Golden. "Lina, there's a bad pony on the loose named No Sew. He's targeting your store. I just thought I'd let you know so you could be prepared." "If it's something like that, next time just call me, you have my number," she replies annoyed before heading back to the store seriously angry and ticked off with him. Back at the store, she goes behind the desk and makes sure that no suspicious ponies are lurking around. Soon, however, she spots a mysterious pony she's never seen before and confronts him and sure enough, it's No Sew. She then gets into costume and knocks him out with a spinning gem to the forehead. She then calls Golden who gladly comes and takes No Sew away and locks him in the Brigade with the other villains. She then uses her magic to return into her simple puffed sleeved dress and gets back to work. After all, her motto is "businessmare first, super heroine second" and for her, that motto will never ever change. > Chapter 10 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days later, the six members of the Powerponies are enjoying lunch at Tik a Timebomb Cafe. As they eat, they talk about missions, weekend plans, crack jokes, gossip, the like. After all, they are girls first. That's one thing that will never change. At one point in the conversation, Zapp brings up her boyfriend Soarunder and how he's about to get into the superhero game himself and how she can't wait for him to join the ESPPL. Meanwhile, back at the Hall, Wonder Mare continues to train the new recruits but this time alongside Canary Sound and Sharp Shooter who are the best young recruit trainers in the league. The three work tirelessly to help the new recruits perfect their skills for hours on end until around 4:00 in the afternoon. Later that day, Zapp brings Soarunder by the Hall and introduces him to the rest of the League. There, a few hours later, she's joined by her friends as they officially induct him into the team. He's a Leaguer now and he couldn't be more excited and Zapp couldn't be more happy that her boyfriend is on the team. The rest of the ESSPL is just glad to have another hero in their ranks and they celebrate with a full blown party with balloons, cake, and everything. Meanwhile, at the Brigade, the villains are getting restless. They begin to just mope around in their cells until they finally get bored of that and pace around their cells. They know they have books to read and balls to play with in their cells but they don't care. They'd rather be reeking havoc across the city than be caged animals. Alas, that is one thing they can't do since it's impossible to escape from the Brigade, so they'll just have to deal with being bored caged animals in their cells with nothing to do but read and toss a ball at the metal power sucking walls that surround them. > Chapter 11 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So," says Soarunder to Zapp, "do you enjoy the hero gig?" "Baby, please," she replies, "this gig is my life. I enjoy it more than anything else in the world! Now, let's choose you a superhero name, shall we?" He just nods. "What powers do you have?" she asks. "Other than flight, I can create lighting and thunderstorms with a single clap of my hooves," he responds. "Okay, how about Storm Master?" Zapp suggests. "I like it," he replies, "thanks." "Don't mention it," Zapp replies, her cheeks red with blush. The two then walk over and join the rest of the group where she formally introduces Soarunder to the rest of her friends. "Girls," says Zapp, "meet Soarunder aka Storm Master." "Nice to meet you," replies Matter Horn, "I'm Matter Horn, these are Marevolous, Saddle Rager, Radiance, and Fillysecond." "It's nice to meet you too," Soarunder replies with a smile as he shakes each of their hooves. Maybe he can make new friends in the League after all. > Chapter 12 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile in an unknown part of town at Brizzy's Cafe, the non powered ponies get together for their annual game and movie night. It's a time for them to let loose, watch movies, and eat free food on the house. They couldn't ask for anything better than that. Sometimes, they can agree, being a non super definitely has its own perks. They all sit down with a bunch of nachos and cheesy dip and enjoy the movie with smiles spread across their faces. The super ponies don't even know this place exists, and if they do, they just don't care since they already outnumber the non supers a million to one. That's one fact that will never change. The movie they're watching is titled Human. They sit back and enjoy the movie for the two hours and thirty minutes it last only getting up to refill their drinks and get more nachos. Once the movie is done, they begin a game of knock out ball. It's a game similar to bowling but way more intense. A crowd cheers as four sets of teams face off for the knock out ball crown, which yes, is a real thing. As of right now, Brizzy and his team of friends is still the holder of that crown. After several hours, the team led by Carbon Blitz wins taking away Brizzy's winning streak for the first time in ten years. Brizzy and his team mates are shocked. They can't believe they just lost to a newb. Their jaws drop to the floor in astonishment. They hand over their crown with a frown of defeat on their faces. Despite this, Brizzy still considers himself the king, after all, he did hold that title for ten years straight. That's one fact that Carbon Blitz will never be able to change. Around midnight, all the ponies part ways and return to their little shaft apartments in the middle of nowhere. Carbon Smiles in his mirror happily as he walks into his house, he can't believe he just beat Brizzy, the biggest name in all of knock out ball. That is an accomplishment and feat in and of itself. Back at the Cafe, Brizzy stares at the empty wall dumbfounded. He's still not over the fact that he lost. He likely won't be. At least, next year he'll have the chance to win it back. He then stops staring at the wall and locks up for the night. At least, he still enjoyed himself. He can agree that that is definitely something to still grin...not smile...but grin about. > Chapter 13 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's another morning and Evergreen gets up bright and early before the rest of her fellow Leaguers in order to tend to the garden. She goes outside and begins to water the plants, humming to herself all the while. She finishes up watering the plants around 10:30 then heads inside where she is greeted by Golden Token and the rest of the League. A few minutes later, the rest of the ESPPL arrives and Golden gives out the day's missions. Evergreen sighs. She hasn't told anyone her secret and she doesn't want to. She doesn't want to tell them she's with foal. Alas, she has no choice. She speaks up. "Golden, can I talk to you in private?" He nods and follows her into a back room where she tells him. "Golden," she says, "I'm with foal. I'm five months along. I can't go out on the field right now. I'm not up to the strain." "That's understandable," he replies, "go home for the day." She nods and then exits the building and heads for her home. Back at the Hall, Golden returns to the main hall and heads out on mission along with everypony else. He's glad Evergreen found the courage to tell him the truth. He then goes out in search of Tirek the Sucker, since he sucks away powers. This is one he wanted to do himself since he didn't want to put any pony else in this much of harm's way. Alas, Canary asked him to take her and he couldn't tell her no unless he wanted to live with being deaf for the rest of his life. The two stake out at Tirek's last known location and once he appears, they attack him. Her sonic scream weakens his powers and then the two give him the beat down but at the cost of Golden losing his magic for a little bit, but luckily not forever. The two then call in the rest to help them take him down for good. Once they have him knocked out cold, courtesy of Canary and Sonic Call, they take him and lock him up in a mega sized Brigade cell made specially for him. Another baddy is behind bars and they couldn't be happier. Meanwhile, back at her apartment, Evergreen opens the door. Once she's inside, she tends to her personal flowers before going to lay down on her couch and falling asleep. She's tired out. After all, she is half way into her pregnancy. Even so, she can't wait for her little filly to be born. As she sleeps, she can't help but dreaming of the day that will soon come where she is finally a mother herself. Back at the Hall, Golden has finally fully recovered from having Tirek suck away some of his magic. He's now back at full strength. Just the same, he decides to head home for the day and leave the training of the new recruits to Wonder Mare just like always, which she happily agrees to with a smile. She then heads to the training room where she watches as the young recruits train. She can't help but smile as she watches them practice because they remind her so much of herself when she was that age, that eager to learn, that excited to finally become a hero herself. > Chapter 14 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Six months later, Evergreen gives birth to a healthy little filly one rainy day. As the filly giggles in her hooves for the first time, she can't help but smile. She can't believe she's finally a mother. "I'm going to call you Rose Gold," she says as she tickles the little filly on the belly. Her husband then opens the door and smiles as he sees the healthy little filly in her hooves. "She looks just like her mommy," he says with a smile. "Thanks Colton," replies Evergreen, "now come hold your daughter." He gladly obliges and comes over and takes his daughter in his hooves and rocks her with a smile on his face all the while. After fifteen minutes, he hands the sleeping filly back over to her mother before heading back to work. After all, he's a journalist and a journalist can never be late to work. He's lucky his boss even gave him a half hour to see his newborn daughter. Now, he has to get back. He kisses his wife and daughter before flying back out the door. Evergreen sings a simple lullaby to baby Rose Gold. "My little daughter, my little rose, my little drop of golden song," she sings, "you make my life complete. Now sleep, shh, quiet, sleep, now sleep, don't cry, don't whine, just sleep, sleep, sleep, I'll be here when you wake. I'll be here when you wake, when you wake." She rocks the little filly who is now fast asleep in her arms. She then walks over and puts her in her crib. She's so glad to be a mother. For her, it's the best feeling in the world and that's something she'd never change for the world. > Chapter 15 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five days after her daughter is born, Evergreen returns with baby Rose Gold in tow, to the Hall. There, she is greeted by all her friends. She shares hugs with all of them. She can't help but agree that she's glad to be back. Today, thankfully, is one of the League's quieter days too. There are no villains running around begging for blood, everything is peaceful. Meanwhile, all her friends goo and ga over the foal. Canary and Wonder Mare even get chances to hold her as well. Everypony can definitely agree that Rose Gold is a little cutie. The foal just coos all the while as Evergreen smiles at her. She considers herself so lucky that her daughter is so chill with all the attention she is receiving. Golden even gives the little filly a gift, it's a little teddy bear in a superhero cape which the foal takes with open hooves and begins to cuddle with with a smile spread across her face from ear to ear. Everypony else then proceeds to give the little filly gifts as well of everything from wunzies to booties to blankets to even more toys. Radiance even made her a cutie ensemble of a dress, booties, and hat, all matching. All the while, Evergreen looks on with a smile at her smiling daughter. A few hours later, Evergreen and Rose Gold leave for the afternoon with all the gifts in tow. Her daughter is going to be spoiled someday but she doesn't care. A few minutes later, after stopping by the store, they arrive at home. Once at home, Evergreen puts Rose Gold in her playpen then unloads all the groceries. Meanwhile at his work, Evergreen's husband Colton is busy working on a major newspaper for his boss J. Jonah Pony. As he works, all he can think about is his daughter to the point he can't even really focus. He goes and gets some coffee, which helps him focus and get the paper done. He then sends it off to publishing, relieved that it is finally finished. He then slips back in his seat and sighs a sigh of relief. Now, he can think about his wife and daughter as much as he pleases as he continues drinking his coffee and working on a short column for the Sunday Paper's Think About It section. It's his favorite thing to do for the paper, so he does it with a smile on his face. Back at their house, Evergreen gets to work on one of her poems she's been working on for awhile now. She hopes to turn all her poems into a book to publish someday. She works on the poem while keeping an eye on Rose Gold at the same time. She just smiles at the filly as she works on the poem. A few moments later, she sees her daughter drift off to sleep. She can truly agree everything is perfect and she'd have it no other way. > Chapter 16 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five hours later, Colton returns home to Evergreen and Rose Gold. She kisses Evergreen on the head as he enters. He then hangs his hat on the hook and goes and plays on the floor with their daughter. Evergreen can't help but smile. She then walks over and begins to play with her daughter alongside her husband on the floor. They smile and little Rose Gold giggles. They're such a happy family and they'd have it no other way. Meanwhile, at the Hall, Golden Token assigns Zapp and Storm Master to a special, super secret undercover mission. The two then fly off and get started on the mission. It's their first mission together, just the two of them, and they couldn't be more excited. Two hours later, they arrive at their assigned location to keep an eye on their main suspect that they were told to watch. Zapp is in a beautiful deep blue dress with her hair done up underneath a blond wig. Storm Master is in a deep blue tuxedo with a light blue tie with his hair done up underneath a brown wig. Both their tails are also under attachable tail wigs. They then head out on the dance floor and dance a few feet over from their target. Once they get the chance and are free of stares, they confront their suspect. Their suspect then tries to run off but Storm Master tackles him. Zapp then comes behind him and cuffs the suspect. Alas, they know he's just their leader and there are bound to be more. Sure enough, they're right. By the end of the night, they also catch five of his hundreds of cronies. "I'm afraid this is a bigger mission than Golden led us to believe," whispers Zapp to Soarunder. He nods in agreement. They then return to their hotel room for the night. If they take too many of the suspect's cronies tonight, things may look suspicious. They'll take down the next group of cronies in the morning. In the room, they take off their wigs and Zapp kicks off her heels. The two then fall asleep for two hours before being awoken by the suspect's cronies. They then beat the shit out of the cronies and throw them in with the rest of the ones they had caught previously that night. Zapp now can't help but wonder if they bit off more than they could chew by taking up this assignment and sure enough, Soarunder wonders the same. > Chapter 17 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Zapp and Storm Master get back into their costumes and go back undercover. They have another suspect they need to get eyes on and capture along with plenty more cronies as well. Within the hour, they catch and detain several more of the cronies as well as the other suspect. They then continue their undercover mission and collect intel of the two main suspects's plans. Before they were caught, the two suspects planned to blow up all of Maretropolis. The two look at each other. They have to find the megabomb and fast. After twenty four hours of searching, they find the bomb and Storm Master dismantles it within twenty five minutes time. This causes Zapp to breath a sigh of relief. The bomb is dismantled and the rest of the cronies have been knocked out by Golden, who had been keeping an eye on them behind their backs the entire time. They can't thank him enough. The three then part ways. Zapp and Storm Master go one way, back to their assigned mission, and Golden returns to the Hall. The two are back on their own now. This is still an undercover mission and that's one thing that won't change until all the intel is gathered. Two months later, their undercover mission finally comes to an end. All the baddies they beat are now behind bars and the intel is in Golden's hooves and he can't thank them enough. The two just smile. They're just glad they got the chance to help stop the biggest plot against Maretropolis and Equestria in general. They even tell Golden straight that they hope to get more missions like this in the future to which he confirms they probably will. The two then head off satisfied to get back to trick flying training. After all, they do have a performance coming up and they need to perfect their tricks since all of Equestria is going to be watching either in person or from their TVs, so it has to be flawless. Golden shakes his head now that he's alone in the Hall, "those two did me proud. They're my best heroes on the squad and they proved that with this mission. Now, if only we could figure out how two of the most powerful villains we have behind bars got an entire nation behind them enough to make them the rulers of the entire land." He sighs and then goes to his office in the back room of the Hall and throws darts at an old, rugged, dart board. > Chapter 18 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- One afternoon as she was watching her daughter, Evergreen noticed something weird. As her daughter was playing, she'd release thorn vines covered in roses. Evergreen, then again, isn't shocked. She knew there would be a good chance her daughter would have superpowers. As soon as she notices this, she grabs her daughter and heads for the Hall. A few hours later, she arrives at the Hall and there, she tells Golden about her daughter's powers. "Goldy," she says, "Rose Gold has powers. She can create thorn vines with roses upon tactile touch." "I expected that," replies Golden, "she has your genes after all. She has powers just identical to yours basically. It makes sense to me." He shrugs. The two then continue to talk for hours and even test the little filly's abilities in the testing rooms and training rooms. Evergreen can't thank Golden enough. She's glad he'll help her through this because Colton couldn't be more clueless when it comes to superpowers that are plant based because his powers are simple: he can stick to things. That's it. Golden, on the other hand, can deal with any power and understand it perfectly, which is why she came to him as soon as she noticed her daughter had the same powers as herself. After several hours of training, testing, and observation, they finally get a grip of little Rose Gold's powers and give her a loving nickname that will become her hero name when she's older-"Rose Vine". A few hours after that, they wrap up the training and tests and then Evergreen and Rose Gold leave. They go to the store and then out for lunch and ice cream. After all, she's still a mother first and that's a motto she always has whispering to her from the back of her head. The foal having powers is just another thing that comes along with having a foal with another super powered pony. It's just another thing par for the coarse and she'll have to deal with it, but with her sunny disposition, she'll deal with it with a smile no matter what may happen. > Chapter 19 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five years later, Rose Gold joins the League's set of new young recruits. Evergreen smiles as she oversees training alongside Wonder Mare and Super Stallion. She's glad about this placement as her daughter is one of the ten newest recruits. The roster: Rose Vine, Icicle, Fire Touch, Lava Flow, Camomelion, The Magician, Hot Spot, Hard Hat, Ink Blot, and Butterfly. Rose Vine creates rose vines. Camomelion can change into anything around him. Butterfly can shrink and mess with time but only to a millisecond. The other powers are self explanatory. The training soon begins with five pairs fighting one on one with their opposites. It's the first lesson all new recruits learn. The colts and fillies train like this for five hours before finally breaking for lunch. At lunch, they all sit together and talk about their other common interests other than being the new generation of superheroes. Two hours later, they get back to training and another lesson. The lesson they start on once back in the training room is surprise attacks. This one they all rather enjoy. They all get the surprise attack down to a tea after three more hours in the training room. Evergreen can't help but smile and be proud. After all, she's glad her daughter is taking up the family business. In fact, she couldn't be prouder. Not many superheroes would want their family to take up the mantle, but Evergreen isn't one of those ponies. She wants her daughter to take it up. After all, in her mind, the world is better with more heroes than a lack of heroes and this is a notion she shares with the rest of the members of the League. Two hours later, the recruits return home with their parents or go to the spare bunk rooms in the Hall for the night. "I'm proud of you, honey," says Evergreen to Rose Gold as they walk down the street towards their home. "Thanks mom," replies Rose Gold with a smile. "That means the world coming from you." Evergreen smiles at this. A few moments later, they walk in the door to their home and sit down to dinner with Colton for the night. They couldn't be happier. They have a simple family, they are heroes to a city they love, and that's being passed on down the family and that means the world to them since, after all, the superhero tradition goes all the way back to Lilac's grandparents and that's a heritage they are proud of and that's the truth. > Chapter 20 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a new day and a new ruler has finally taken over Equestria. The new ruler: President Flurry Heart and the ponies adore her. They also equally adore President Flurry Heart's parents Armored Knight and Love Heart. Even the super ponies can't find anything wrong with the new ruling trio. For them, that's very impressive. Meanwhile, in their little hidden areas, the non supers are groaning at the fact that they have two new alicorn leaders. They wish for once that they could just get a normal unicorn, pegasus, or earth pony president. Now, they'll have to stay hidden forever. Not that they mind, but still, they just wish the leader could be a normie for once. Over at Brizzy's, Brizzy groans as the TV plays the election of President Flurry Heart on every single channel. "Can't believe every time we get a new leader, it's annoying and doesn't represent the other 25% at all." "You don't have to tell me twice, it is pretty bad," replies one of his customers named Drill Head. "Yeah, us normies don't have a voice," adds another customer named White Fox. Meanwhile at the Hall, all the main members are in a major meeting discussing the new leaders of Equestria. Elsewhere, the Power Ponies are having a similar meeting. They are all concerned about the future of Equestria under the new leadership. They can all agree to that and all voice their concerns for those reasons. They just hope the new president rules justly and not with an iron first. That's all they can do at this point. > Chapter 21 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days into President Flurry Heart's rule, everything starts to roll down hill. Crime gets worse and villains run rampant. The heroes moan and groan. They knew this was going to happen. Within the week, they take down three times as many bads as they usually do. Meanwhile, back at the Hall, the young recruits continue to go through training. All the while, all they hear on the news behind them is "PRESIDENT FLURRY HEART, WILL THIS WORK OUT?" and the like. The heroes just roll their eyes and groan. They hope things will change, but that's all they can do is hope. Back at Lina's store, she and her other designers tend to their designs while Spring Flower brings in client upon client upon client. Everything is running smoothly. Heck, Cartier is now one of the most popular names across Equestria and towns beyond. He's a success and he couldn't be happier. Over at Brizzy's Cafe, they too moan over President Flurry Heart. The only good thing that comes on is the fact that she's working on putting a law in place that puts heroes into hiding. This is an idea they enjoy but one the supers aren't to fond of. At the Hall, the heroes moan, "I can't believe President Flurry Heart wants to ban us from saving ponies, what the heck?" "I can agree to that, why would she ban us? We do so much good!" Replies Golden. "It really makes no sense!" The rest nod in agreement to this. Meanwhile at her home Evergreen tends to her daughter since they decided to leave early. After all, for the most part, Evergreen wants to try to give her daughter a normal life since she thinks her daughter deserves it since she herself never got a normal life because she was scolded for her powers. Lilac wants her daughter to be as normal as possible and just do the hero thing on the side especially now with this new law possibly going to be hanging over their heads soon. Golden doesn't blame her either. Soon, they may all have to hide their powers, both full time heroes and new recruits. Everything is about to change and it will probably be for the worst. > Chapter 22 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days later, everypony gets news that Flurry Heart actually didn't pass the No Super Ponies Law but actually vetoed it and passed a modified version called the Screen Super Villains Law. It's one that states that the government is allowed to screen super villains and super powered threats when they deem fit. This has the ESPPL relieved. They're glad the villains that actually deserve it get the law and not all super powered ponies in general. "The law they put out is a relief," sighs Lilac Evergreen. "Agreed," replies Golden with a nod. Meanwhile at Brizzy's, everypony moans. They wanted the law to get passed in its full. They wanted all super ponies to be required to be put in check. The modified law the government put out instead just annoys them. They think all super ponies should be held accountable not just super powered baddies and over powered threats. One of Brizzy's clients even states it outright. "I hate how they're letting the super heroes off Scott free, what the hay barrels! What the hay barrels! I mean seriously!" says the pony stallion Big Hoof. "You took the words right out of my mouth," replies Brizzy as he comes up from the cooler with a beer in hoof, which he pops open and slides down the bar table to the pony who ordered it, a non powered model named Angel Eye La'Fair. Brizzy gets down, grabs another three beers and slides them down to the stallions that are accompanying her. "It's a shame they don't keep these super ponies in check," says Angel Eye in her sweet, angelic voice. "How do we know we can trust them? We don't. It's as simple as that." "Amen to that, Toots!" replies one of Big Hoof's mates named Heavy Weight. They continue to talk about the recent law and their hate for it late into the afternoon. They talk about how no one gives a care to monitor the good super powered ponies but do care enough to monitor the bad ones. Meanwhile at the Hall, the super ponies continue to just go over their missions from the day and the levels of success they had. Some did well, some didn't, even so, they're just glad they got off the hook all the same even though they don't think they exactly deserve it. > Chapter 23 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five days later, Lina is hosting a fashion festival in Canterstrong HighTown. It's the hundredth annual fashion festival at that. She and Cartier are both displaying outfits in the fashion festival and they couldn't be more excited as they have the chance to meet several other fashion designers including one Suri Mae Polimare, Coco Pommel, and a newer designer who has been getting big lately, Cataline Grant-granddaughter of Catherine "Kitty" Grant. Around an hour later, the Canterstrong HighTown Hundredth Annual Fashion Fest begins. All the fashion designers use their hired models to show off their designs as the judges and host walk around. They all absolutely love Lina's designs most of all. Even afterwards, they come to her and congratulate her on her amazing designs. "Awe, thanks," replies Lina with a smile, "I put sweat and tears into these. Besides, you guys are my role models and have been since I was a filly and an aspiring designer. My dresses are my canvas and my joy! Thanks for your praises." She bows as the four walk off. Two hours later, the judges and host announce the winners of the festival as well as announce the winner of the fashion auction. "The winners," say the judges, "in fifth place-Suri Mae Polimare, in fourth-Coco Pommel, third-Cataline Grant, second-Cartier, and last but not least, our first place, our golden hundredth year ribbon take home winner, is Lina." The five then walk forward and take their awards. Lina takes her golden ribbon with a smile and thanks everypony around her. She then, as the winner, announces the winner of the auction. "And the winner of the auction," says Lina, "is Rara Gaits!" Rara comes to the front and takes her winnings. The winnings from the auction-a dress made by Lina and a pendant made by Canterstrong Jewelers. She takes them and returns to her seat. A few hours later, the winners head off and sit down to lunch together at the Canterstrong Cafe. There, they chat about the day's events and their love of fashion. Lina couldn't be happier. She's glad today isn't one of those days when she has to go off and take some villain. She's glad she can have a normal day like this every once in awhile and for that, she couldn't be more grateful! She smiles as she continues to talk having the time of her life. > Chapter 24 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, bright and early, Zapp and Storm Master head out on a mission alongside Golden. The two are glad it's just the two of them that Golden decided to bring along instead of the entire Power Pony branch of the ESPPL. A few hours later, they land at their mission. Zapp and Storm Master look at Golden confused. "It's a nightclub," says a snarky Zapp. "Yes, a nightclub run by criminals," replies Golden. "That's why we're here. We're here to shut it down now shush." The three change into costume and go inside. Zapp is in a simple dress that ties around at the girth and neck only. Golden is in a t-shirt and blazer as is Soarunder. How is it that she gets the most bothersome costume every time they go on these undercover missions. It honestly drives her crazy. She moans and rolls her eyes as she follows the boys inside. At least, she still has her lightning bolt necklace. Inside the club, the three soon find the owner and boss of the place-a non super powered pony named Hunter Hex. Hunter soon spots the three peculiar ponies and sends his super powered goons after them. Golden, Soarunder, and Zapp then go all karate on the super powered goons and then Golden goes and gets Hunter Hex in a wrist hold behind the back. Soarunder then comes and flies up behind and cuffs the baddy while Zapp cuffs all the goons. The three then fly off the baddies to the Brigade and then head off to tend to another undercover mission at an illegal fight house. A few hours later, they land at the fight house and go inside. This time, they're all in fancy dinner wear. Zapp is in a bright blue gown and the boys are in blue and orange tuxes. They then watch as the spectacle unfolds in front of them. Luckily, Wonder Mare is also in disguise up in the crowds in her beautiful red gown. Golden soon realizes Wonder Mare is there and he and the others go up and join her. "I figured you might need back up," she whispers to Golden. "Thanks," replies Golden, "I figured you'd come here anyways regardless of if I told you to or not." "Yeah, you're right," giggles Wonder Mare. The four then shut up and continue to watch the fights unfold. Once the fights end for the night, they go after the mare behind them Rolling Dice Deann. The four soon corner her and overtake her. Alas, she manages to get away as soon as Golden lets his guard down. They still manage to blow up the venue after getting all the competitors and spectators out with the competitors vowing to never work for Rolling Dice ever again with the exception of two or three who sneak back into the shadows likely to reappear when the next fight house does. The four return to the Hall just the same satisfied that they blew up the venue even though Rolling Dice did escape. They'll catch her eventually. They know that. She's just slippery and harder to catch just like any other big bad they've faced. Wonder Mare even brings up that point. "Rolling Dice will always get away, she's a snake. We just have to deal with it. She'll always be the hardest to catch." The rest agree with her on it too. Rolling Dice Deann is a snake, a very venomous, slippery snake and it'll take years to catch her. To them, that's undeniable now. Meanwhile in the practice room, Evergreen is working on concentration and focus lessons with her daughter Rose Gold one on one. A few moments later, Golden walks in to the area above the training room and watches Rose Gold's improvement from there with a smile. At least, they have a new generation ready to take up the hero mantel. That's always a good feeling that, luckily, will never change, at least, not for a very, very long time. > Chapter 25 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a lovely day outside and every super pony is at their monthly ESPPL Picnic. They're all talking, laughing, and having an all around good time. There's even a rainbow in the sky overhead. Everything is perfect. "So," says Lilac Evergreen, "quieter week. That's nice, huh?" "Yeah," replies Golden. "It's okay." Lilac then looks over at her daughter and smiles. She's glad Rose Gold is enjoying herself. She then looks over in the other direction and sees Colton talking with his buddies. She smiles. These are the only times he really interacts with other ponies on a large scale and really lets himself loose. Lilac then focuses back on her little group and starts talking with them once again. Over in another corner, the teenage ponies heroes are cracking jokes and pulling pranks on each other. "C'mon Icicle," teases Crystal, "show those boys how you can freeze that apple mid flight!" Icicle nods and shoots the apple with ice not long after Crystal tosses it in the air. The frozen apple then falls to the ground and shatters. The others look at her dumbfounded. "What did I tell you?" replies Icicle. She then blows on her hoof to cool it down. "Good job sis!" snarks Fiery Flame. She rolls her eyes at him then thanks him just as snarkily. "So, don't you feel training is getting a little unnecessary and old?" asks Miner. "It's meh," reply Icicle and Fiery in unison. "That's true," adds in Crystal. "So true, training is getting annoying," adds in Dracon. They then see the adults glance their way, so they change the conversation as not to tick them off. Meanwhile, Rose Gold has made a friend in another blank flanked super powered filly named Whistle Toe. She's glad there's another young filly for her to talk with instead of all the colts she is usually forced to associate with. "I'm so glad to have another filly to talk to," says Rose Gold to Whistle Toe. "Me too," giggles Whistle Toe. "So, you wanna come spend the night?" "Let me ask my mother," replies Rose Gold. She walks over to her mother then asks then returns to give Whistle her mother's answer. "She said yes," says Rose Gold to Whistle. "I can't wait!" says Whistle Toe as she embraces Rose Gold in a hug. A few hours later, the two arrive at Whistle's place after going by Rose Gold's place and picking up her things. The two enjoy a dinner of hayburgers they picked up on their way back as they watch a movie. The movie is titled "The Last Unicorn". The two sit quietly and watch the movie only whispering every now and then. The two are glad they get to spend the night together especially considering Whistle's big brother doesn't really ever pay attention to her, so it's nice for her to have a friend to lean on and talk to. Rose Gold can't help but think that their budding friendship is soon going to be one that lasts the test of time. > Chapter 26 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a new day and Matter Horn is off handling some interrogations alongside Golden. Meanwhile, the rest of the Power Ponies are off facing another bad guy with help of Storm Master. The bad guy this time around-Juxtaposition Jack. He's a villain that can change anything with the snap of his wings. After several hours of fighting long into the night, Zapp and Storm Master soon knock out Juxtaposition cold and bind him and put his wings in wing cuffs. The group then take Juxtaposition Jack to the Brigade and lock him up. They then go and join the rest of the League at the Hall to get their next assignment. Meanwhile, the interrogations are not going so well. The villains are refusing to answer questions. After another hour, Matter Horn uses an information divulging spell to get the villains to spill with Golden's go that is. The villains admit to them being guilty and they're sent off to the Brigade to be locked up. Matter Horn then goes off to meet up with her friends and the seven go off to lunch. Golden goes off on his own to sit in his office and think, to think about his daughter, his daughter that doesn't know he exists. Meanwhile at a quiet house on the outskirts of the Maretropolis suburbs, a young filly plays a board game with her mother. "Momma," says the little filly, "where's daddy?" "I figured you'd ask eventually. Your father is a superhero named Golden Token. He's a member of the Equestria Super Powered Pony League. That's why he's never around my dear, Hibiscus Blossom." "I wish he were around," sighs Hibiscus Blossom as she moves her piece according to her card. Her mother then takes her turn. In his office, Golden looks at an old picture of his daughter when she was first born and smiles. He misses her so much, but knows him staying out of her life is the best thing to do to keep her safe. Even so, he can't help but admit he misses her and wishes to see her again. Maybe tomorrow he'll go and pay her and her mother a visit. > Chapter 27 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Golden goes to the Maretropolis suburbs to the house of his ex and his daughter. He walks up slowly then knocks on the door nervously. His ex comes to the door and opens it. She lets him in with a frown on her face. She knows he has the right to visit since legally, they're still married. Once she sees him, Hibiscus Blossom runs into Golden's arms. He grabs her and swings her in the air. She giggles. He then puts her down and the two go off and play a board game together. His ex can't help but smile. After all, she can't deny the fact that her daughter should know her father. Golden ends up spending the entire day with his daughter Hibiscus. They go to lunch together and even go the carnival together and ride the Ferris wheel together. Hibiscus is glad to have this time alone with her dad. He even wins her a giant teddy bear playing ring toss at the carnival. After the carnival, the two go out for ice cream. Around 3:00, the two return to the suburbs to the house and Golden drops Hibiscus off. "Spirit Rain," says Golden, "you know that I hated leaving you. You know I didn't want to. I had no choice." "Keep telling yourself that," sighs Spirit Rain as she closes the door before him. He then walks off and returns to the Hall. He's just glad he got to spend the day with his daughter. That's all he could ever ask for. He can't help but feel like he is the luckiest stallion alive. Now, if only, he could get his ex to forgive him for leaving her. If only, he could tell her the truth. Alas, he knows he can't and for him, that's the absolute worst feeling in the world. > Chapter 28 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That night back in his apartment, Golden takes off his costume and sits down and cries. He knows Spirit Rain hates his guts. He can't do anything about that. He then picks up a picture of him piggybacking his daughter when she was an infant and smiles. He then puts it down and climbs into his bed. A few hours later, he falls fast asleep and lets dreams about his daughter and the times they used to share overtake him. A smile appears on his face as he sleeps. Meanwhile, back at Spirit Rain's and Hibiscus Blossom's, Spirit tucks in Hibiscus for the night. "Why do you hate daddy?" asks Hibiscus. "I just do...because...because...he told me he preferred his work over me...so I kicked him out...out for good," sighs Spirit Rain, tears forming in her eyes. "Now just go to sleep." She kisses her daughter on the head and leaves the bedroom, goes into her bedroom down the hall, sits on her bed, and cries. She looks down at the divorce papers in her hooves. She hates that she has to fill them out, but alas, it's for the best and she knows it. A few hours later, Spirit puts the papers on the nightstand beside her and falls asleep. She'll fill them out in the morning. Right now, all she wants to do is try and attempt to get a good night's sleep. Right now, all she wants to do is get Golden out of her mind. > Chapter 29 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a normal day in Maretropolis until there was thunder booming from all around them. All the Leaguers then headed outside to see what was causing the storm. They soon see that it's a giant dragon horse hybrid monster.
