When Frisk dived back down to Mt. Ebott to see a friend of hers, she was in for a voyage she'll never forget.

After freeing the whole monster race from Mt. Ebott, life was as good as it can ever be. Humans and monsters slowly got along once again and repaired the bond between both kinds.

A year after her journey, she dived back down into the cave, to see the only monster she didn't get to save, and her beloved friend, Asriel Dreemurr. However, she instead found herself diving into a mysterious portal just before landing.

As she woke up, she finds herself, with hooves and a horn, and comes face-to-face with the land of Equestria.

Prologue: Diving Back In

Long ago, two races ruled over Earth; Humans and Monsters. One day, war broke out between the two races, and the humans, filled with determination, won the war, and sealed the monsters deep beneath Mount Ebott with a magic barrier, which only one with a human soul can pass through. You can go into it, but you can't get out.

Years later, a girl named Frisk, saved the whole monster realm through her mercy and soul of determination. Since then, life has been great and thrilling. Frisk became the ambassador of the monsters, and introduced them to the present humans, who have long forgotten the tragic battle. Because of this, and with the clever girl's story, the humans believed that the monster kind is not the horrifying race they used to be.

The humans welcomed the monsters and agreed to develop friendship and connections with them to help both kinds grow strong in peace. Many people, including the ones who stuck with the outdated tale, have accepted peace between humans and monsters through time. Many of Frisk's friends, including the girl herself, was very pleased how everything turned out.

Everything is at it's best and all was well... Right?

It was a lovely morning. The sun was shining bright into our little heroine's room. As her holiday for the summer began, she couldn't wait to kick it off and have a fabulous time.

'Ring~~' The alarm clock waked her up.

Frisk turned it off, and woke up with a huge smile on her face.

'I can't wait, it's finally summer! I've been waiting for it to come for so long!' She thought.

As she exited her room, did her usual morning routine, and as she went down to have breakfast, greeting her is a familiar and kind face.

'Good morning, my child, how are you feeling today?' Toriel asked.

She looked at her happily. 'Great! I can't wait for summer to start!'

'Glad to hear it,' Toriel replied, patting her daughter's head. 'Had a good sleep last night?'

'Had a little dream with him again,' Frisk told her mother, sitting at the table. 'I just couldn't help but feel sad every time I think about him.'

Toriel was confused. 'Asriel Dreemurr?'

'Yeah, I miss him.' She said sadly.

As soon she started eating, her dad, Asgore, came over.

'Cheer up, Frisk, I'm sure you'll find someone else you love soon.' He kindly told her.

'It's just... I don't know why he is so resistant to me saving him.' Frisk replied. 'Why can't he just come with us and have a happy life? This place is much better than the underground. He'll have so many friends to play with him! He doesn't want to be alone, that's what I know. Why did he just close his door immediately on the subject?'

'None of us will ever know,' Toriel said. 'But it's his decision, you can't force him.'

Asgore nodded. 'Tori is correct. I understand you have been sad a lot of the time because of him, but you have to move on. We were pretty sad too, but we thought he could've saved us all. However... we were wrong. The point is, we know you can work past this.'

He dried the tears in Frisk's eye. She grinned a bit.

'Thanks, dad. It means a lot.' She responded. She suddenly had an idea. 'You know what... I just thought of something...' Frisk looked at the picture mountain on the wall.

'Huh? What's wrong, my child?' Toriel asked.

Frisk finished her meal, got up and started thinking. A minute later, she glanced at her parents, and smiled.

'I'm going back,' she said, then rushing out the door.

Asgore was shocked, and tempted to chase after her. 'No! Frisk, come back this instant!' He shouted. But she showed no sign of returning.

Toriel looked at him. 'I have an idea, dear.' Then she whispered something to him.

'Ho, that's wonderful, honey!' He gave her a high-five.

As Frisk ran through the streets, she met some of her friends.

'Whoa, hey kid, what's the rush?' Sans asked.

'I'm going back for someone,' she replied, then dashed past him.

Sans' brother came over. 'What's the human doing? She just ran past the great papyrus so quickly!'

'No idea,' Sans told him. 'Probably going back up the mountain.'

As she got near the beach, she ran into Undyne, who was just jogging near her.

'Hey, Frisk! Glad to see you! Where are you off to?' She asked.

'I'm going back up the mountain. You won't understand why, though,' Frisk told her. 'Catch me if you can!'

Even Undyne couldn't catch up to her after that.

'Whoa, since when did she get so fast?' She was shocked.

'Did you see that!?' Her friend, Alphys, came to ask. 'I've never seen her like that!'

'She must be really desperate for something to be like that.'

Frisk got back to Mount Ebott, and was walking back up to the entrance of the cave. She was really tired.

'Phew! Why did I have to run so quickly!?' She asked herself.

As she looked down, she was remembering the first time she fell. It was a scary experience. But, it was an adventure of her life. She never regretted the decision to go back down after that.

'Asriel? She called out. 'Can you hear me from up here?'

As the echos travelled, she was hearing no signs of reply.

'Seems like I'll have to jump down...' Frisk thought. Then she shouted into the cave. 'Asriel, I'm coming for you!'

A second later, she was falling into the deep and dark cave that the monsters left behind. However, to her surprise, as she can almost see the flower bed, she saw something glowing above it.

'Huh? What's that?' She thought.

As she thought she was going to land, the portal sucked her in. She was frightened.

'Wait, what!? Hold on! This wasn't supposed to happen! What's going on!?!?'

As she was screaming inside the portal tunnel, she was slowly travelling into a magical place, far far away...

Chapter 1: Welcome to Equestria

'Hello? Hello, are you okay?' A voice said.

Frisk was still a bit unconscious from the fall, but a minute later she opened her eyes a bit.

'(Groans) Where in the world am I?' She asked herself, scratching her eye.

As she tried to scratch her eye, she noticed it felt a bit different. It didn't feel like fingers touching the eyeball. She then looked at the rest of her body. Instead of arms and legs, she found herself having four hooves instead. She also found a horn on top of her head as well.

'Huh? What in the... What happened to me!?' Frisk was shocked, she turned into a pony!

As she panicked, another pony tapped her back.

'Ah, you're awake!' She said happily.

Frisk turned to her. She was purple, her mane and tail were magenta and dark purple, and she had beautiful wings. The pony's cutie mark was a six-pointed star, with a few smaller stars around it.

'Who are you?' Frisk asked.

The pony helped her to get up. Frisk was trying to walk in human form, but she was losing balance and was forced to stay on her hooves instead. She was still very confused to what happened.

The pony called her over and smiled. 'I'm princess Twilight Sparkle. But, just call me Twilight, that's alright.'

'Well... It's nice to meet you, Twilight.' Frisk stuttered. 'I'm Frisk Dreemurr.'

'Good! You're the one I was just looking for!' Twilight replied. 'I'm glad you came.'

The girl looked around to see her surroundings. It looked somewhat like the middle of a forest, an open area. The air was noticeably fresher and she knew this wasn't the human world, nor the underground either.

'Sorry, where am I anyway?'

Twilight kindly told her, 'You're in my magical world, Equestria. The land of the ponies.'

Frisk immediately sighed. 'Oh boy! Time to go over my entire adventure all over again! I know what's going to happen, you're going to try to kill me or some sort! What's next? Another princess shows up and shows me around or something? I know exactly what's going to happen now!'

Hearing all of that, Twilight was very puzzled. 'What are you talking about...?'

The girl realised. 'Oh! Sorry, that was a bit rude of me, wasn't it?

'It's alright. Though, I didn't understand what you said.'

So, Frisk told the princess everything that she went through, in a short version.

'I see. No wonder I've heard that you're deemed such a great person of the humans.' Twilight said. 'No wonder she told me to call you to the situation.'

'What situation?'

'Ah, that's why I called you here,' the princess began. 'Recently, there has been a very bad murder mystery spreading around Equestria. From our findings, she seems to be another human. Because of this, one of our other princesses decided that it will take another human to defeat her, because a pony could not stand up against her.'

'So another human came into this world?' Frisk asked.

Twilight nodded. 'You're the human that I chose to tackle this case. I'm really glad you came to help.'

'Well, I originally just wanted to go back to the cave I told you. But... That portal showed up.' Frisk replied. 'So... What now? We go and track her down?'

'Not yet,' Twilight said. 'I forgot that by entering through the portals between your world and mine, we can turn into humans and vice versa. So, I need to find you a way to turn you back into a human. But in the meantime, I'll ask my friends to show you around, and you can get used to your pony self.'

'Your friends? Where are they?' asked Frisk.

Twilight started to walk back to her castle. 'Follow me!' She told her new friend.

So, Frisk followed Twilight back to where she lives: her castle. The moment Frisk saw it, she was astonished by it's looks.

'I can't believe I am meeting a pony princess only minutes after getting here!' Frisk exclaimed.

Twilight opened the doors. 'You'll be more than glad to meet my friends as well.'

Spike was just behind the doors as the two walked in. He noticed Frisk and was curious. 'Hi Twilight! Found a new friend, I suppose?'

'Yeah, she's the one we have tried to find to solve the mystery we have.' She replied. 'Anyway, where are the girls?'

'They're in the throne room, just relaxing.'

When Twilight walked into the throne room, everypony was there. To make it a bit more formal, she thought it would be better to tell them first about Frisk.

'If I can get your attention, girls?' She began.

Everypony turned to her.

'So, I know we have been going through this for some time now, and I think the one we're looking for has finally decided to come over and help us. If you find her a bit weird, it's because she's originally not a pony.' Twilight explained to them.

'And that pony is?' Starlight asked.

Frisk came into the room, trying to keep a calm face even when feeling nervous.

'Hi everyone,' she began. 'I'm Frisk Dreemurr, but you can call me Frisk for short. I know I'm not technically a pony, but princess Twilight said that I am going to help you guys tackle the murderer on the loose once I get my original form back.' She waved to everypony.

Rainbow was confused. 'So... If you're not a pony, what are you then?'

'Well, I'm actually a human from my world.' Frisk explained.

'Exactly, you know, like the ones in the place where I went to? Canterlot high school?' Twilight added.

Soon, everypony understood what she's talking about.

As they held a little discussion to get to know more about Frisk, and to discuss the plans for her, Frisk brought up an interesting question.

'I was thinking... Who is this murderer you girls are talking about?' She asked.

'We don't know much about her,' Rarity answered. 'However, she really loves killing other ponies, although we don't know why.'

Something just clicked into Applejack's mind. 'Wait a minute! If she's a human too, then you two might've met before! You might just know who she is!'

'Very fishy,' Frisk said. 'Though, I do know somebody that's like that... Someone that's basically my evil counterpart... But, I can't be sure.'

Twilight took note of it. 'I see. Now, because I hope to work on the spell, and I hope Frisk can get used to her pony form, I'll be glad if you girls can show her around the place. It is a wonderful place compared to her world, as far as I know. Frisk can also make some friends along the way.'

'We'll do!' Pinkie replied excitedly.

'I guess I can give her a chance,' Fluttershy added.

'So, I guess you girls take turns to show her around Equestria? And Starlight, maybe you can teach her some magic skills? She is a unicorn after all.' Twilight suggested.

'Sure! I'm glad to help!' Starlight replied, smiling. 'What about everypony else? No problem?'

Everypony shook their head.

'Great! Let's start then!'

As everypony left the room, Frisk smiled at Twilight.

'Thanks for your hospitality, it's really nice of you,' Frisk commented.

Twilight chuckled. 'It's nothing. Just glad you're coming to help us in the long run.'

'Hope I can do it in peace, though. It wasn't easy going through my first adventure.' Frisk added. 'By the way... I was wondering, Twilight...'

'Yes? What's that?'

'We're best friends now, I guess?' Frisk asked.

'Well, just friends, I guess. But, I think our friendship will grow fast.'

After shaking each other's hoof, Twilight went to work on the spell, and Frisk is ready to explore the land.
