Flurry Heart's Adventure in Rainstar

View Online

Spike used to live in Ponyville. He didn't anymore. The reason was simple- to him at least- and only Rainbow Dash, or Princess Rainfall, and her family knew. Spike was the Queen's royal pet. It was a step up, in a way, from being a minor princess' helper. Rainbow Dash used to live in Cloudsdale, which was near Ponyville. She didn't anymore, either. She was the princess of the secret kingdom, Rainstar. Spike and Rainfall had both been part of a mysterious prophecy, which had only been solved the year before. No pony except those special chosen ones could find the scret kingdom of Rainstar. Rainstar itself was named after its first queen. All proper heirs to the throne were mares. This is the second account of an adventure in Rainstar.

"Flurry?Flurry?" came a loving, warm voice. Flurry Heart giggled mischevously. There was no way in the world that she was going to let any pony, from Equestria or Earth or any other place, fin her! She considered herself a master spy. No, Flurry Heart wasn't going to let her reputation get utterly ruined by anyone. He, he, he. They can not ever catch me, she thought. 'Cause I'm too sneaky for old limping pickles and pears like those howling beagles! Well, we'll see who has the last thought before the other outwits them! And it won't be me. No pony ever wondered what went on inside Flurry's mind. And even if they did, well, they just wouldn't be able to find out, because even if they could read minds, Flurry Heart's mind had a shield around it. A purple glow burst through Flurry's thoughts. Curious, she glanced around the corner. A huge, rolling, purple circle hovered in mid-air. OOH, thought Flurry Heart. She took a few uncertain steps, a quick, suspicious look around and then she burst into flight, soaring through the hole. A blinding sun dazzled her. Everywhere she looked, she saw rolling, green hills and looming, snowy mountains. Arched rainbows dazzled her, almost rendering her unconscious. A great grey unicorn was staring at her. "Again?" he groaned loudly. "As if the last one wasn't enough!"

"What do you mean?" she snorted disbeleivingly. "What last one? And by the way, I am a princess, so don't talk to me that way, or you'll be sorry! My mum is Princess Cadance and she'll..."

"Do nothing," the unicorn interrupted. "This is not Equestria! I am king and I will not tolerate this behaviour!" Flurry Heart took and indignant breath in and...

"WAAAAHHHHH! I want Mummy! She's not mean to me! I wanna go home!" she bawled, as if she was still a child. The king was rendered silent.

"Who are you anyway?" Flurry Heart squawked through masses of tears.

"I am King Stone Cliff," he declared, drawing himself up to his full height. "The king of Rainstar. And by the way, you can't go home."

"Why?" demanded Flurry Heart. "I'm only a little filly." She put her cutie eyes on. The king was taken aback. He let his guard down for just a second before regaining his composition.

"No," he snorted. "And that is final." Flurry sighed. She was unable to do anything. Because, after all, just like I said, I'm only a filly, she thought sadly. Her heart sank with the rising of the moon. Wait... no pony except Luna has the power to raise the moon! she thought. Maybe this is where she's been hiding!

"Take me to your Queen," she demanded forcefully. The king sneered.

"My good wife, Queen Snow Fire, would not have time to waste with you," he retorted.

"I don't care," Flurry Heart shot back. "Who's the main ruler here? I wanna speak to them."

"Oh, um, in that case..." King Stone Cliff trailed off. "Fine. You shall see her." Princess Flurry Heart grinned. She was in!

King Stone Cliff stalked through the palace, mumbling curses and rude things under his breath. He shot furious looks at Flurry. Every time she tried to look ahead, he flicked his hairy, white tail and blocked her view. She groaned inwardly. They finally arrived at a huge set of golden, sapphire-studded doors. Stone Cliff knocked. Knock... knock-knock-knock...nick-knock. A guard peered round the door. He made a quick motion, and they stepped inside.

It was a huge room. As her eyes swept the room, one thing grabbed her attention. One, midnight blue thing.

"Luna!" cried Flurry. "Where have you been?" The king glared at her.

"Ah. Princess Flurry Heart. Thou art grown," Luna remarked.

"You know this... this thing?" he stammered.

"First of all, we are not things, as you say," Princess Luna replied. "We are alicorns. And secondly, I do know thee as she is my sister's adopted niece's daughter." The king was furious! Wow, he sure needs an anger check up, Flurry Heart giggled to herself.

"Well, what are we going to do with her?" King Stone Cliff demanded fussily. "Put her in the mines, perhaps?" Princess Luna was affronted.

"The mines?" she screeched. "THE MINES? No, she will be treated far better than thou would treat her."

"Maybe... another pet?" the king whimpered. Luna almost exploded.

" NO! THOU SHALT BE ASHAMED OF THYSELF!" she howled in anger. "SHE SHALL BE ADOPTED DAUGHTER! TREAT HER WELL, OR THOU ART SENTENCED TO THE MINES!" King Stone Cliff bowed respectfully as he rushed out. "Now, come see thyself's sister and my pet," Luna gently told Flurry. They entered a room adorned with sapphires. In the middle of the room, a mare that Flurry remembered stood there.

"Rainbow Dash!" she cried. "I never thought I'd see you again after you disappeared!" Rainbow blinked.

"Her name in Rainstar is Rainfall, dear," Luna told Flurry gently. "And Rainfall, sweetheart, Flurry Heart is your new sister. Younger sister, obviously," she added.

"Cool!" declared Rainfall. "Has she got a new name?" Flurry was confused.

"New name?" she asked. Luna blushed.

"Er, well, you see, it is the custom for new arrivals to change their name. like Spike became Rain Forest. Would you like to become Clear Sky?" Flurry Heart nodded excitedly. How she loved her new home already!
