The sound of weapons fire and blades clashing echoed throughout the ancient City of the Mask Makers; a place that slept for a thousand years and within the past month, it had gone from a city lost to the ages to the heart of Okoto, the Toa had been called and the Prophecy of Light was fulfilled and darkness was defeated restoring peace and harmony to the island. A young child, wearing a badly damaged mask of fire was running from a platoon of 80 identical skeletal warriors, armed with spears and bows, which had a six barrel automatic blaster at its center. The Skull Warrior class of a notorious band of pirates called the Skull Raiders.

The child’s name was Tunua (Scorch), named for his likeness to Tahu and he was running for his life as they were trying to capture anyone that would be a valuable hostage and who better than the nephew of Narmoto, the Protector of Fire. Tunua rounded a corner, directly into a dead-end alley; with nowhere to run he braced for the worst. As the lead Warrior reached out to grab him, a thunderbolt came out of nowhere and hit the whole platoon, stunning them. Tunua looked up to see a flash of gold and red before being taken by his uncle, Narmoto, to The Forge where all the other Protectors’ families were gathered as it was a safe place and was the ultimate high ground of the city.

“Are you well?” asked Narmoto, worried for his nephew.

“I’m fine, uncle; thank you for saving me back there.” said Tunua, hugging his uncle.

“Your mask! What happened?” Said Narmoto, seeing the barely intact mask that had fallen off of Tunua. Tunua explained that while he was playing in the arena with his friends when the attack started and in the panic, was separated from them and ran into the platoon of Skull Raiders and while being pursued had been hit by the shockwave of one of their bombs and was launched into a wall, damaging his mask.

“Uncle?” Tunua asked Narmoto, “Who was that being that stunned the Raiders?”

“Follow me; I’ll tell you as we walk.” said Narmoto, heading to Ekimu’s workshop to get Tunua’s mask fixed.

Blaze hails from the city of Metru Nui, where he worked as a mask maker in the district of Ta-Metru. He was a head taller than most other Matoran and was easily identified by his unique yellow mask. In his spare time he experimented with combining energized protodermis and antidermis. One night, a star went hyper nova and a ray of light hit Blaze, rendering him unconscious. After awaking, he found an unusual weapon resting by his forge: it was approximately ¾ of a bio (1.0275 meters, a bio is 1.37 meters) in length and was shaped like a key. The bit was shaped like a crown and on the opposing end, the hilt’s grip had black leather and the hilt guard was pure red, hexagonal and had twelve spikes coming off of it and appeared to be made of some sort of steel. He picked it up and he saw the same thing as the previous night but, at a closer view of the star’s core. Upon the moment of collapse, the only thing remaining was a fiery weapon identical to the one Blaze held in his hand. His mind returned to the forge and one name echoed in his mind:

“Hypernova Keyblade”.

Over the course of time, Blaze mastered his new weapon and used it to construct a ring-shaped device he called a Hypergate. After revealing it to the seven Turaga of the city, Hypernova began to glow and from it, a beam of light shot at the center of the Hypergate and activated it. But, the gate was imperfect and released a gravity wave that sucked Blaze into it. The device broke into 9 fragments and they fell at the Turaga’s feet. After feeling like a Le-Matoran just hit him with a level 9 teleport disk, Blaze looked around and saw he was on a very different island to his home; instead of the buildings, transport chutes and aircraft he was so used to, Blaze saw vast jungles and great mountains and before him was a huge city of stone that seemed to be floating on the clouds below it, and the only way in or out was a wide bridge with an observation deck at its center.

Wanting to learn where in Mata Nui he was, Blaze asked a blue and gold being who stood about one bio (1.37 meters) tall who had a golden crown-like mask with strange runes on it about this place. The being said his name was Ekimu and that he was a mask maker; he told Blaze that the island he was on was called Okoto and when Blaze asked Ekimu if he know which way Metru Nui was, the Okotan-as he said was the term for his people-said that he never heard of it. Blaze was in shock, how could someone not have heard of Metru Nui? Seeing the new arrival’s confusion, Ekimu took Blaze to the observatory and showed him the charts of the night sky. It was then that Blaze had learned that not only was he not near Metru Nui, he was actually in another dimension entirely. After the shock of this revelation had passed, Blaze asked if there was a place to stay. Ekimu said that he would allow Blaze to reside in his forge at the cost of being allowed to study Hypernova. Blaze agreed and they soon arrived at the forge which was the large anvil-shaped building that he saw earlier. Blaze handed Ekimu the Keyblade and shortly thereafter, the weapon vanished with a flash of light from Ekimu’s hand and returned likewise to Blaze’s. The old mask maker concluded that this weapon chooses its wielder and couldn’t be handled by anyone other than its chosen bearer. The two studied the blade over the course of the next morning and during this time Blaze learned how to use his weapon to control the elements like the Toa could. Once finished studying Hypernova, Ekimu moved to a collection of crates and pulled out a red crystal that was the size of one’s fist that glowed with a strange light. Curious, Blaze watched as Ekimu took the crystal and melted it in a roaring furnace, poured the liquid into a mold and removed a shape that was all too familiar to Blaze: a Mask of Power. Ekimu then gave the mask to a small red Okotan who sat outside the forge. After this, Blaze went and took some kanoka disks he always had on him for use of self-defense. He picked out a pair of level seven disks; one had a grow ability and the other had the regeneration ability, and used a tool called a firestaff to fuse the disks and then carve out a helmet-like shape; a Kanohi Hau Nuva or Great Mask of Shielding. When Blaze went to put it on to see if he was successful, Ekimu asked what the mask was. Blaze was startled and instinctively activated the mask’s power, causing it to glow crimson and create a dome of energy around himself that would deflect all anticipated attacks while turning towards the sound’s source. Seeing that it was Ekimu and that the mask was successfully crafted, Blaze removed the Hau and switched back to his normal mask and explained the mask and how he made it. Ekimu, seeing that Blaze was an excellent mask maker, offered to teach the Okotan method of mask making in exchange of learning how to make masks like the one Blaze just made.

Blaze agreed and both mask makers taught each other all they knew about their art. Blaze learned that masks here were made from crystals of pure elemental energy and that only one crystal type is to be used in a mask’s creating otherwise its power would go out of control. Upon seeing how quickly Ekimu made a successful Kakama Nuva-Mask of Speed-on the first attempt, Blaze asked Ekimu how this was accomplished. Ekimu’s response was that his mask was the Mask of Creation and Blaze nodded and continued his teaching. After a few weeks, Blaze had successfully forged his first Okotan mask which contained the element of Fire and went to give it to the young villager who requested it. The villager took the mask and left without a word.

After a few weeks, Ekimu took Blaze to a vault that contained a singular box. And within was an ancient mold that was identical to the mask that Blaze wore and upon touching it, he saw Makuta taking all six elemental forces and pouring the molten combination into the mold and removing a mask identical to the one Blaze wore, calling it The Mask of Ultimate Power; the scene jumped to a great city and Makuta putting the mask on his face. The mask was veiled in shadow and Ekimu knocked it off Makuta but the mask shattered and triggered an explosion of catastrophic size. Ekimu explained what Blaze saw and asked how his student acquired his mask. Blaze said that it was given to him by a being called Artahka, who made it out of protosteel, a combination of steel and protodermis, which didn’t have any powers whatsoever. Ekimu said that was why he showed him the mold, to make sure that it wasn’t the same mask that Makuta made many millennia ago.

Between the various commissions for the villagers, Ekimu helped Blaze perfect his Hypergate design and in doing so, they found that the gate had 9 chevrons that were designated 1-9 going clockwise from the bottom-left and that it was actually supposed to work as a means of travel between dimensions that otherwise couldn’t be reached even with a Kanohi Olmak, the Mask of Dimensional Gates. A dimension’s address goes as follows: light, 3 elemental forces/unique traits, a ‘home symbol’, 3 other elemental forces/unique traits and darkness. Using symbols from the target dimension, they appear in a pattern similar to a closing Venus flytrap, ending at the home symbol at the top; then all 9 chevrons engage simultaneously. Once that completes, the Hypernova Keyblade must unlock it in order for the gate to fully activate; this is its main defense-the Hypernova Keyblade is the only thing that can activate the gate otherwise it just shuts down after the address is dialed.

Chapter 1: Dawn of Fire

It was yet another day in the Mask Makers’ City, where Okotans from all 6 tribes lived together in relative peace, with the occasional attack by Skull spiders or Skull Raiders. This day started out with yet another attack and one very grumpy mask maker.

“Grrrr! Why do these attacks always happen when I finally have had a good week that it gets spoiled by an attack?” Said Blaze, the most recent apprentice mask maker, after dispatching the last of the skull warriors using his keyblade to send it flying to the eastern sea of Okoto. And with that, he went around to check if anyone needed help but, things were in control so Blaze went to his home and workplace to continue his commissions from various folks from across the island. The sound of hammer strikes remained until the sun had fallen below the horizon. A basic fire mask was given to the young child whom it was made for and with that, the day’s work was complete and Blaze called it a night.

It was the dawn of the next day when the whole city shook as if it was trying to tear itself apart and this was no normal quake for it had the pattern of footsteps and was not stopping. Blaze, Ekimu and the six Protectors went down into the lower vaults of the forge and there they found the source of these quakes: Blaze’s Hypergate.

“What does this mean?” Said Nilkuu, the Protector of Stone, voicing the thoughts of all in the chamber. All eyes fell on Ekimu as he had always had some wisdom in these matters,

“I’m afraid that this is beyond even my understanding but I think my apprentice may be able to help,” said Ekimu gesturing towards the Hypernova Keyblade on Blaze’s back, which was pulsing with pure light. Blaze walked up to the device and placed a hand on it and as soon as he did, he saw a world of light and harmony then it shifted to a chimeric beast that was surrounded by a maelstrom of chaos and shadow. The vision then ended and Blaze staggered backwards panting, his eyes frenzied with the thing that had come to him.

“I saw a world, one where darkness had almost no hold, there was this...this chimeric entity that was tearing it all into chaos and shadow,” he said between breaths,

“ I need to gather a few things.” Blaze rushed to his quarters and gathered his mask making tools and resources as well as provisions and weapons for defense against any threat that would come his way. He stored all of this into his pack and thought again about the vision, how this world was in turmoil and discord. He returned to the vault and told his friends,

“I have to go. A world’s heart is under attack and I must go and help its people repel this darkness.” The Protectors and Ekimu all agreed that this threat was severe if it caused quakes via the Hypergate. They all said their goodbyes and Ekimu said, with some fear in his voice:

“I know not what this threat’s nature is but I sense a powerful force, almost like the elements, crying out for help...I hope you fare well in this world and that you return safely. I am proud to have had you as an apprentice; until next we meet.”

“Until next we meet,” said Blaze as he returned the sentiment.

Blaze moved to a tablet with nine equal squares; eight of them blank and one with the mark of The Forbidden Mask, this was the dialing mechanism of the Hypergate. Blaze traced a crescent moon on the top, a sun at the bottom, and in a clockwise pattern, traced the following: a teal balloon, a red thunder bolt, a violet diamond, a lavender six-point star, a pale rose butterfly and an orange fruit. The gate then dialed this sequence: Sun, Balloon, Bolt, Diamond, Mask, Star, Butterfly, Fruit and Moon. Once the top sigil (the mask) appeared, all nine chevrons simultaneously locked and the Keyhole revealed itself in the center of the gate’s opening. Hypernova then shot a light blast at the Keyhole, opening the way to this new world. With one final salute, Blaze stepped through the gate. He flew past innumerable worlds and dimensions, passing the one, true, Kingdom Hearts. But instead of just rebounding as usual, he landed upon a familiar sight, a Station of Awakening but what was odd about it was that the glass was absolutely blank and clear but was split into two parts: one side showed Okoto and himself as he was but the other was a mess of fire, chaos, and light with some kind of winged quadruped sleeping at the roots of a crystalline tree. Both sides had a door, both facing each other: one had Okoto’s Hypergate address with all the elemental symbols and the other had the address he just dialed but both center squares were blank.

After examining the area, Blaze concluded he was at a crossroads of worlds and that he had been given a final decision to either abandon his journey for some desire of safety or continue and risk whatever may arise. Blaze took a deep breath and walked to the center and he was jolted back by some kind of field. He got back up and saw the same red, winged creature on the other side and after moving around comically, he saw it was copying his motions like a mirror then a gentle, mother-like voice was heard, the only words he could make out were ‘Harmony’ and ‘Discord’ and whenever ‘Discord’ was spoken the energy field seemed to flicker, as if impacted. Blaze then thought,

Well, this is odd but, I need to finish this. Oh well, here goes.” He then crossed the barrier and found himself directly in front of the door. He hesitated a moment but then, quickly proceeded to open the door and was hit by a blinding white light.

He blacked out and felt like he’d not only got hit with the usual queasy feeling from Hypergate travel but also felt ‘as if he swam in energized protodermis and walked through the fires of karzahni at the same time.’ His sight had returned only to find that he somehow landed in a hedge maze...that looked more like the Labyrinth of Control with how there seemed to be more like an abstract art piece combined with a maze. Finally registering the burning feeling he had only a few thoughts:
“HOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!! FIND WATER AND PUT OUT MYSELF OUT ASAP!!!!!” The next thing he knew, he crashed into a giant lake filled with...chocolate milk? Which promptly turned into normal water. A very confused and relieved Blaze broke the surface and used a Blizzaga spell to freeze the water into a mirror and saw that same red Pegasus, the word had suddenly appeared in his head, with yellow hooves, a navy blue hoodie jacket, a mark on both flanks that looked like a fiery galaxy and a mane, tail and wings that were actually on fire! After a panic attack, he landed and found that he had been turned into that same pegasus he saw earlier and concluded that it was this world’s own magic that caused this.

Once he had figured out how to control his new form he began wandering the maze and as he was, he took to thinking,

This is strange, the visions, this form and this world? I have so many questions and in order to find answers I need to get out of here.” After wandering for what felt like an eternity, he spotted the exit and saw six ponies: 2 earth, 2 pegasi and 2 unicorns. They were running towards the archway and Blaze then moved sensing a dark presence, reaching into his pack he pulled out a Kanohi Volitak Nuva, the Nuva mask of Stealth. He activated it and moved to the archway. The six ponies discussed amongst themselves something that Blaze couldn’t hear. The teal one with a rainbow mane and tail launched into the air and then her wings disappeared with a flash of white light and so did the 2 unicorns’ horns and the butter-yellow pegasus’ wings. Then with a flash of white light and the crack of thunder, it appeared: the chimeric beast with an assortment of parts: a pony head, feathered snake tail, cloven hoofed leg, dragon leg and things that Blaze couldn’t identify; the same thing from his vision, a spirit of chaos: Discord.

The creature laughed and then said,

“You should see the looks on your faces; priceless!” He chuckles gleefully, the lavender one yells angrily;

“Give us our wings and horns back!” Blaze checks and sees that his wings also vanished

just when I got used to them, curse you karma!” he said in his head, certain he was still unnoticed. The Chaos Spirit responds,

“You’ll get them back in good time.” It then teleports with a flash of light

“, that must be his power tell; I’ll make note of that.” Blaze notes in his mind, to the orange pony in the farmer’s hat, whom gets startled by the sudden event.

“I simply took them to ensure there’s no cheating.” Discord resumes while jabbing his elbow at a very cross pony.

“You see, this is the first rule of our game: No flying and no magic!” He slinks to the former pegasi and then to the lavender pony whom Blaze concluded to be the team’s leader;

I’ll stick close to that one, maybe if I talk with her, I can get some answers as to what in Mata Nui’s going on here!” Blaze thinks as he does just that and avoids the abomination monologuing.

It zips off and the teal one asks:

“the First rule?” The spirit stops, reclining on a nearby hedge wall:

“The second rule is: everypony has to play or the game is over and I win.” He says as he taps his ‘fingers’ together in an evil manner.

“Good Luck, everypony!” it shouts and then laughs evilly before teleporting to Karzahni knows where.

“Never fear, girls!” the lavender one says to the five other mares, “we have each other.” The teal pony says:

“Yeah! What Twilight said, there’s nothing we can’t overcome if we all stick together!” This pepped up the other ponies, impressing Blaze.

So, they are this world’s Toa; they know well the Virtue of Unity." Blaze notes as he follows behind this ‘Twilight’ as she leads the group saying:

“Alright girls, let’s do this.” and they enter as one into the maze shouting “Together!”

But once they step into the maze the six mares get separated by hedge walls, and thus are alone. Blaze’s mask has been negated at the same time but the walls gave only a glimpse of the startled Keyblade Wielder to the five others and Twilight tells the currently panicking mares to remain calm and to head to the middle as fast as they can so they can regroup. With four affirmatives and one terrified scream, they all take off and Blaze follows after Twilight. Blaze then tries to use a Kakama to at least make it possible for him to keep up but it goes haywire and he crashes into Twilight.

“Ouch!” Twilight groans and sees an unfamiliar red pony with a pack and hoodie trying to yank his head out of the ground. She helps him out and she asks:

“Are you OK? Who are you and how did you end up in here?” Blaze says in a panic:

“Blaze!”

“Your full name,” Twilight says. Blaze racks his mind for an alias and says:

“Blaze...wing Inferno? Yeah, Blazewing Inferno, folks call me Blaze for short and you?’ She responds:

“I am Twilight Sparkle: Student of Princess Celestia of Equestria and Bearer of the Element of Magic.” She says with pride,

“you are not familiar, must be new and judging by your shivering, you must be from somewhere really warm.” Blaze responds:

“Well, when you feel like you’re walking through a lava flow for who knows how long and when you’re finally used to it; you lose it and feel like you’re now trying to survive a northern Blizzard! Oh, sorry.” Twilight’s jaw drops and she immediately screams:

“You’re a Fire Elemental?!!! OK, first: you are coming with me so you can meet my friends so we can find The Elements of Harmony, beat Discord and save the world.” With that, Blaze agrees on the condition that as soon as all this is over, he gets answers to his questions then they hear voices and run to their origin.

Blaze senses a dark force at work and follows Twilight, he then senses a disturbance, one that means that darkness has taken hold of a Toa’s heart, or Element Bearer in this case. They find an opening in the wall to their right and see a pony.

“Applejack,” Twilight says relieved and Blaze makes a note of it as it was the same ‘farm pony’ from before whom was the Bearer of The Element of Honesty, only her color seemed to have paled, much like a drained Toa.

“Thank goodness, we thought we heard voices over here!” The two walk up to the still mare. Twilight asks:

“Who were you talking to?” The pony answers, hesitantly:

“I was talking to uh, nopony! Nopony whatsoever!” Followed by a face that screams guilt as her eyes dilate and dart around as if she had something to hide.

“What?” both Twilight and Blaze say in unison.

“Nuthin’” says Applejack, her expression saying otherwise;

“Come on! Uh, we best be goin’.” As she trots off. Bewildered, Twilight asks:

“Did Applejack just…” but then confidently and chuckling:

“Come on, Twilight. Applejack wouldn’t lie!” Blaze senses another shift and thinks:

I have a bad feeling about all this.” And then proceeds to follow after Twilight and Applejack (A.J.) farther into The Labyrinth of Chaos.

Chaos, Victorious?

Chapter 2: Chaos, victorious?

Blaze hears a distorted laughter and then a shattering sound.

That is never good news.” Blaze thinks as he senses that another Toa-as this is how he sees Twilight and her friends-has fallen but, due to the nature of how they are falling this small gut feeling starts to turn into something akin to a headache. A bunch of creepy balloons pop and the archway is open, revealing Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter, also paled out similar to A.J.’s current state.

“Pinkie Pie! Are we glad to see you.” Twilight says as she rejoices in this reuniting; but Pinkie, irately responds:

“Oh, you are, huh? Why?! Need a good laugh!?” Yelling at Twilight, again bewildered:

“Pinkie?” Pinkie passes A.J. and goes through the archway.

“What do you suppose has her so upset? It’s not like her.” the now confused and worried Twilight asks Applejack whom responds with:

“I didn’t notice anything strange about Pinkie!” Which was followed with the guilty face and swiftly leaves back through the archway as Twilight stands even more confused.

“I am sensing a pattern here, Twilight.” says Blaze remembering something from back home in Metru Nui:

Their Unity can be poisoned, their Duty will be broken, their Destiny, I must shatter...Anger amongst them will threaten their precious Unity, Hunger will consume their Duty and Fear will keep them from their Destiny.

Blaze looks worried and hears Twilight leave, knowing that she’s worried and that she needs all the help she can get.

As each friend is found, Blaze’s headache gets worse, as they found Rarity, The Element of Generosity, was filthy and thinking that a large boulder was a diamond and was being avaricious-greedy- and as he was helping to carry it around using a standard mask of strength, to avoid risking the anger of one consumed by greed. They then find Fluttershy and Blaze realizes that the Element Bearers are exhibiting the opposite trait of their element and realizes that Fluttershy was Kindness; and its opposite was...cruelty, this wasn’t gonna end well. Blaze suddenly hears Discord shouting and as the wall before the group drops Blaze tentatively steps up as he dares not set anyone off. Twilight goes up to the now corrupted Fluttershy and is met with a rude

“Oh, boo-hoo-hoo!” Leaving Twi and Blaze shocked,

“Why don’t you wave your magic little horn and make everything alright!?” Before anyone can respond Fluttershy continues her bullying:

“Oh that’s right; you can’t, you don’t have one.” And as she turns, Twilight gets Fluttershy’s tail whipped at her face.

“What is happening to my friends?” Twilight asks as Fluttershy trips Pinkie and AJ laughs then quickly fibs again when snapped at. Blaze and Twi help Rarity, who still has a boulder on her back, up. They are thanked and before they can return it Rarity’s greed takes over again and she storms off. Blaze’s headache has begun to affect him as he staggers around, Twilight helps him by firing a Levitation Kanoka disk at him after tying him to the rock so that the mare’s burden is lighter and he is anchored to the group. They hear thunderclaps and Blaze starts to yell out in pain as only one Element remains uncorrupted: Twilight, the Element of Magic. He faintly hears Twilight talking and takes comfort in the familiarity of this world and its virtues that it shares with those of his own; Unity, Duty, Destiny. Blaze gets yanked down as Twilight drops the boulder and a lightning bolt hits him stunned and no longer levitating he drops like a dead weight next to the boulder causing him to switch to a Kiril Nuva-mask of regeneration, which helps him heal and be able to get up. The maze crumbles and leaves them in a crater as Discord appears with an evil laugh saying

“Well, well, well. Somepony broke the ‘no wings; no magic rule’!” Discord snaps his fingers and Blaze finds that his fire powers and wings return along with the wings and horns of the Element Bearers.

“Game’s Over, my little ponies! You didn’t find your precious Elements!” Discord gets in Twilight’s face and just as fast backs off to his previous spot, materializing an umbrella in his ‘lion paw’ and as he opens it, which makes it more of a bowl, with a meow sound originating from it; saying:

“looks like we’re in for a big ol’ storm of Chaos!” Discord laughs as thunder claps and Twilight’s jaw drops in disbelief as she feels that Discord cheated.

Chapter 3: Ponyville, the Chaos Capital of the World

As Discord is rolling on the ground laughing, the corrupt Element Bearers begin to fight amongst themselves. Blaze’s eyes go wide as he realizes this was this world’s heart showed him, the Elements losing to Discord and fueling the Darkness. He gets up as he tries to, he feels very weak and Twi helps him up. Blaze thanks her for helping him and she uses a spell to help him endure the pain he feels. He still needs to use the Kiril but now, his pain is bearable. Twilight asks her friends what’s going on and Discord chuckles as he is eating popcorn whilst watching all of this on a three seater cinema bench:

“It’s just too entertaining.” He pops another kernel into his mouth. Twilight and Blaze march up and Twilight tells Discord:

“Stop it, Discord. You’re not playing fair!” Feigning shock, Discord says,

I’m not playing fair? Perhaps we haven’t met; and seeing as you’ve made a new friend, I believe introductions are in order:” He gets up and introduces himself,

“I’m Discord, Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony? Hellloo!?” Blaze responds,

“Well, I’m Blazewing Inferno, Fire Elemental.” He turns to Twi,

“he didn’t play fair as that’s his nature.” Twilight angrily tells Discord,

“How were we supposed to find The Elements of Harmony when you took away the labyrinth before we could get to the end!?”

This surprises Discord and he breaks out into a laughing fit,

“Oh, wait. Did you...how funny! You thought that the Elements were in the labyrinth?” Blaze then ignites and yells,

“Could someone explain what in Karzahni is going on here?!” Discord then takes himself, Blaze and Twilight back in time as observers into a throne room where a regal Alicorn and the Element Bearers are listening to Discord, in the stained glass, give a riddle as to where he hid the Elements of Harmony:

Twists and Turns,

Are my Master Plan.

Then, find The Elements,

Back where you began.

Whisking the trio back to the present, Discord tells a slack jawed Twilight Sparkle and a pensive Blazewing Inferno,

“I never said they were in the labyrinth.” Twilight asks,

“But, but..?”

“Keep trying, you two. Maybe the ‘magic of friendship’ can help you.” Discord says mockingly, “Now! If you’ll excuse me, I have some Chaos to wreak.” He says, snapping his lion paw again and teleporting again to parts unknown.

Above the duo, thunder’s heard and cotton candy clouds form above the crater and began raining chocolate milk on the group,

“So, that’s what made that weird puddle from before.” Blaze said, as the irate Pinkie complains yet again and the infighting starts all over again. This is getting on Twi’s nerves as she is trying to figure out the riddle from before and Blaze pulls out a self-chilling thermos from his pack and collects the rain within it. Blaze closes his thermos and tries to use a mask of X-ray vision but decides against it as an angry and avaricious being is not something you tempt, unless you have a death wish.

Twilight expresses her desire to return to her home and then, it all came together: the riddle meant that the Elements were back at her home, in a town called Ponyville. They make it to the distant outskirts of Ponyville only to find...that the whole place has gone to Karzahni with selective gravity, cartoon antics and your general gist of cartoony, reality-law-breaking Chaos-complete with random day/night intervals, soap roads and so much more! Blaze says in his head, hoping Twi isn’t telepathic;

“Well, this is a veritable maelstrom of Chaos!

Twilight runs ahead explaining her plan when rabbits with giraffe proportioned legs stampede over her.

“Good boy, Angel! Mama’s so proud!” Fluttershy says, indicating that the lead one was her pet bunny; then it randomly changes to night, and as the dirt roads turn into soap roads, AJ says with obvious sarcasm,

“Wow, I can see so much better now!” Promptly slipping and knocking over everyone and ending with a comedic,

“I meant to do that.” A random sunrise reveals the current state of the roads and Discord skates by saying,

“Beautiful, isn’t it? This is the new and improved Ponyville; and these are only my first changes.” gloating and reveling in his freedom from a millennium long petrification. Twi is dismayed at this.

“This may look like fun, but it’s not!” Pinkie says, as she skates past Twilight and Blaze. Twi groans and Blaze rolls his eyes and Discord appears from nowhere and puts his lion arm around Twilight and his eagle claw arm around Blaze. He raises them up and with pride and says,

“Picture it: The Chaos Capital of the World!” And with another random nightfall,

“I can’t picture anything, it’s too dark.” says Twilight annoyed.

“Eh, you can sorta make out the silhouettes of everything; I think.” Blaze says squinting.

“Well, wait a few minutes and you’ll see it in the beautiful light of day; or not.” Discord says after dropping the two and Blaze scrambles to keep his mask on. Discord jette’s over them and teleports off in a flash of light. Twilight gets up,

“Ponyville, the Chaos Capital of the World?” She asks and defiantly follows up with,

“Not if I have anything to say about it!” And Fluttershy ruins it with,

“don’t worry, you won’t.” as she skates past with a cruel laugh. Groaning, Twilight looks at Blaze as he is trying not to drop any embers as he flies above the road in order to avoid igniting everything.

Betrayal

Chapter 4: Betrayal

The group reach The Golden Oaks Library, Twilight’s residence. After yet another random sunrise, Twilight, exasperated, says,

“OK! We’re here! Now, everyone just please, please, please, please go inside, please?” AJ says,

”I will absolutely refuse!” as she goes from a muted shade of her old color to a full-on greyed out version, the same happens to each of the mares as they enter the library, Fluttershy stomping on the nearby flower bushes, Pinkie complaining and Rarity refusing to go in without her ‘diamond’

Pleeassse? We’ve got to hurry!” Twilight tells Rarity.

“Forget it, Twilight! You too, Blaze! I know what you’re up to.” Rarity responds, her greed much more dominant than it was before,

“The second I go in, you’ll have Blaze and your little minion, Spike, take Tom!” Blaze ‘facehoofs’-as he doesn’t have hands anymore,

“You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me! She named it?!” And Twilight nearing her rope’s end, “Tom?”

“Well, it’s not going to work!” Rarity yells as she kisses the rock then pets it. Rarity goes ‘gray scale’ and Twilight, groaning, says,

“You’re not going in without ‘im, are you?” Rarity confirms this with a no grunt. Twilight carries the rock over to the door.

Within the library’s main chamber, a baby purple and green dragon sleeps soundly on the floor with a mop and bucket, this is Spike: Twilight’s #1 assistant. He always does as she asks and puts up with the various shenanigans that happen daily. Fluttershy picks up the bucket and dumps the water on Spike, waking him very abruptly. After psyching out from it, and looking like a startled Muaka, he shakes himself dry and looks at Fluttershy, asking why she did it. She responds with,

"Cause you just looked so peaceful.” Spike wrings out his tail and before he can ponder about what happened, a resounding crash announces “Tom’s” arrival via going through the wall with much complaining from Rarity. Twilight and Blaze both say,

“Oh, for the love of-” but Twilight gets interrupted by Spike, inquiring Twilight as to what’s going on, and Blaze finishes,

“Mata Nui.” under his breath. Spike sees Blaze and introductions are exchanged. Twilight just says,

“Don’t ask.” The three proceed to look for a book and Fluttershy douses the trio in water, which is vaporized the moment it makes contact with Blaze. The tensions rise even higher, Twilight more than most,

“UGH! No time to explain. We’ve got to find the reference guide to The Elements of Harmony before,” now growling through her teeth,

Somepony does something she’ll regret!” Spike remembers where that book is and goes to grab it; only to have it snatched by Fluttershy. Twilight tells Fluttershy to give her the book, who sets off a round of,

“Keep-away!”
Fluttershy tosses it to AJ who says,

“I don’t have any book!” As she balances it on her muzzle, tossing it to Pinkie, who tosses it back to Fluttershy. This goes on for a few cycles, which gets stopped by Spike tackling Fluttershy. The book lands on the ground and Rarity takes it telekinetically via magic saying,

“Mine!” Twilight asks,

“Hey! Do you know what you just stole?”

“No, but if you want it I want it!” Twilight has had it,

“Grrr! Give Me That Book!” Rarity’s chased by Twilight and causes a mess and Twilight rams into the boulder after Rarity’s boosted up by Fluttershy and asks where Rarity is, her temper out the window thanks to her friends’ response, and a fight ensues between Twilight, Applejack and Pinkie. It kicks up a dust cloud, and Twilight leaps out clutching the book, Spike and Blaze move to act as defense for her via rolled up scroll for Spike and a flare up in Blaze’s wings.

“Back off! This is my book. And I’m gonna read it!” After the two take position to allow Twilight to read the book in relative peace, she opens it and gasps. Blaze sees 5 necklaces and a crown each bearing a gemstone with identical shape and color to the Hypergate Address of Equestria: the Elements of Harmony.

Twilight looks up and turns to her friends, rejoicing in her triumph while they are just sitting there being total deadweights.

“You don’t even care, do you?” Twilight asks the five greyed out mares whom respond with a unanimous,

“No!” Twilight’s head droops sorrowfully and sighs,

“I never thought it would happen: My friends,” then with anger,

”Have Turned Into Complete Jerks!” Using her magic to put each bearer’s Element on them: Blue Balloon(Laughter) to Pinkie, Magenta Diamond(Generosity) to Rarity, Orange Apple(Honesty) to Applejack, Pink Butterfly(Kindness) to Fluttershy saying,

“necklace, necklace, necklace, necklace aaaaand big crown thingy!” putting the one with the star-like jewel on her head.

“C’mon everypony, let’s go!” Spike stops Twilight, asking if all are accounted for; to which Twilight responds, rather ticked,

“Nope! We’ve got The Liar, The Grump, The Hoarder and The Brute! That just about covers it!” Spike asks,

“What about Rainbow Dash?” This is pondered for a moment and Twilight puts the necklace with the red lightning bolt (Loyalty) on Spike,

“Congratulations, Spike! You’re the new Rainbow Dash; now let’s go” Spike worries how Rainbow Dash would react to this and it gets blown off by Twilight with,

“Too bad, you’re Rainbow Dash, now let’s go beat Discord so we don’t have to talk to each other again!” Which get all but Rarity to cheer and trample Spike as she’s still lugging around “TOM”! Blaze quickly uses a Mahiki-Ilusion- to transform into Twilight and yell,

“Move!” Startling Rarity into booking it out the door with “Tom” not far behind.

“Look out! Here comes ‘Tom’!” the real Twilight calls out before launching the boulder out to land near the rest of the group. After the crashing impact of the boulder, Blaze tells Twilight he’ll hold down the fort.

“Well, well, well. I see you found The Elements of Harmony. ” Discord says as he hovers in front of the group,

“How terrifying!” he says with obvious sarcasm.

“Discord! I’ve figured out your lame riddle. You’re in for it now!” Twilight yells to Discord. Discord, milking every last bit of drama he can, says,

“I certainly am.” He touches down next to a tree,

“You’ve clearly outdueled me; now it’s time to meet my doom,” he puts on a set of sunglasses out of thin air,

“I’ve failed. I’m prepared to be defeated now, ladies. Fire at will.” He says as he waves in a bull's eye target onto his midsection. Twilight calls,

“Formation, Now!” which is met with groans and complaints from the other ponies and the dragon. They make a semicircle around Discord.

“Now, let’s get this over with.” says an annoyed Twilight as they begin to hover while their Elements glow with grey light and when they are in the air Discord removes his shades wondering if he actually is gonna get blasted again. The attempt fails and all six fall to the ground. After the four mares again contend, they discard their Elements to Twilight and Spike respectfully returns his to Twilight, Discord marches up, clapping.

Chapter 5: The Return of Harmony

“Bravo, ponies; bravo! Harmony in Equestria is officially dead; Discord rules, Celestia drools.” Twilight growls like an enraged dog at Discord as he laughs at her and skates off. After the four mares leave with very painful remarks toward Twilight, she yells,

“Fine! Leave! See if I care! I don’t need you guys either. With friends like you who needs,” hanging her head low in depression, she says softly,

“enemies.” Upon finishing that statement, Twilight greys out as well, signifying her defeat. She sheds a tear that leaves a puddle in the shape of a broken heart. At the library, Blaze’s headache reaches migraine levels and he screams in agony shortly before turning into his Okotan form but wearing a tattered, faded red and gold cloak with the hood up. She mopily walks home with a small cloud raining on her. As she’s walking, she passes by many overturned homes, rabbit/giraffe stampedes, a line of bison ballerinas, ponies running in the air, pies flying up, Screwball just floating around, and Discord laughing as he teleports showing Twilight a scene of some more chaos, which she doesn’t react to. Discord takes the cotton candy cloud with a cotton candy cone telling her to get into the spirit of things. Looking at all the Chaos she says,

“Not anymore.” And resumes her previous course to the library. She returns after nightfall and tells Spike to pack his things. Looking like he’s got the worst stomachache, he groans something.

“Don’t ask where we’re going ‘cause...I don’t know yet. Just not here.” She says as she readies a suitcase and throws her element into a trash bin.

Groaning, writhing and clutching his stomach Spike says,

“Can’t move. The Princess has been sending these since I came back upstairs to help Blaze.” He points at the cloaked figure sitting by the pile of scrolls. The figure’s only visible features are that he’s metallic, apelike and has glowing red eyes, which flickered as he spoke,

“Yes, every time he burps; the fire turns into one of these scrolls, and they all bear your name and a ‘Princess Celestia’.” He hands one to Twilight. She reads all of them out loud and using his mask of Telepathy, he sees all the memories that are running through Twilight’s mind and as she reads, her color returns. She tells the now weary Spike her discovery and reminisces about her first day in Ponyville. She lays Spike down in his basket and turns to the cloaked figure,

“Who are you?” she asks.

“I am both a stranger and a friend, Miss Sparkle; we recently met.” said he, showing her the now grey Kanohi Kiril he wore earlier.

“Blaze?! What happened to you?” Twilight asks, shocked at how the elemental changed into a weird robotic being.

“Your answers will come in time but first, we need to help your friends.” Blaze said. The being got up and outstretched his right hand and with a flash of pure Light and Fire, the Hypernova Keyblade appeared. Saving her questions for later, the two left Spike to rest and recover.

At Sweet Apple Acres, things were like a dog house: Pigs were literally flying, Big Mac was behaving like some canine, Granny Smith was tap dancing like she was on Broadway, and Applejack: she was telling lie after lie about how she was abandoned by her friends and beat Discord herself. Blaze and Twilight tackled AJ after a quick trade of remarks.

“Ready?” said Twilight to Blaze, who nodded yes and used his Keyblade’s power to open up AJ’s heart combined with Twilight’s spell. After the spell was cast, AJ’s color returned to normal. After regaining her bearings, Applejack noticed the Keyblade Wielder and was about to ask about him but then saw her friend and apologized for all that happened. And Twilight accepted the apology, and so they went restoring the others as each was in a predicament of their own; after Rarity was restored they disposed of the boulder whilst agreeing to never speak of this event again. They got Pinkie Pie back and she was laughing about the fact that she turned grey, Blaze asked Twilight if this was normal; to which she responded,

“That’s only the tip of the iceberg; just don’t question it.” Blaze shrugged and used a Kanohi Kadin, Mask of Flight, to help search for Rainbow at her cloud house. Pinkie Pie pointed out that Rainbow was reclining on a nearby cloud.

“We’ve been looking everywhere for you. We need your help to beat Discord with your Element; Loyalty!” Twilight yelled to the color-muted pony.

“Loyalty, Shmoy-alty! I’m staying here in Cloudsdale where everything is awesome!” She says as she returns to her reclining. Rarity asks aloud,

“How in Equestria could she think that tiny patch of clouds is Cloudsdale?” In unison, Blaze and Applejack answer,

“The same way he got you to think that cheap rock was a bona fide diamond.” Rarity winces at this then says,

“I thought we agreed to never speak of that again.” Blaze was barely containing his laughter.

“Time for Plan B!” Says Twilight.

Twilight, Rarity and Pinkie ascend in a hot air balloon with Fluttershy and Blaze flying alongside it. They review the plan and Fluttershy wakes up Rainbow Dash to inform her that she’s gonna be held down against her will. Blaze face palms with a resounding clang of his hand hitting his mask. Rainbow then takes the cloud and AJ lassos her basically leashing her.

After grounding Rainbow, Blaze and Twilight use their combined restoration spell and bring back Rainbow Dash.
In Ponyville, Discord is sitting upon a throne, laughing at all the Chaos around him and bending the laws of reality so that when he drinks a glass of milk, the glass itself is drunk but the milk is solid and when thrown acts like a pack of touch C4.

“Chaos is a wonderful, wonderful thing!” Blaze hears Discord yell, then the explosion from the thrown chocolate milk.

He and the Element Bearers march up to him.

“Not as wonderful as Friendship!” proclaims Twilight with the other standing behind her, Elements and Keyblade at the ready. Discord pulls AJ by her element,

“Oh Applejack, don’t lie to me. I’m the one who made you a Liar.” He then drags the others, apart from Twilight and Blaze, in the same manner so they are hovering in front of him,

“Won’t you ever learn?” Blaze and Twilight combine their power to teleport to the group and create a shield around the others and when it lands, the ground that enters it returns to normal.

“I’ll tell what we’ve learned, Discord!” Says Twilight,

“We’ve learned that friendship isn’t always easy but, there’s no doubt that it’s worth fighting for!” Discord cringe-groans,

“Gag me! Fine! Go ahead, try and use your little Elements; friend me. Just make it quick.” He teleports back to his throne,

“I’m missing some excellent Chaos here.” He reclines in his throne with a smug look on his face.

The others grouped so that Blaze was between Twilight and Discord,

“Alright, everyone! Let’s show him what friendship can do!” And they began to charge their items, but Pinkie had to get one last helping of chocolate rain before it was over. She joined the others, growling at Discord. They began charging their powers and closed their eyes in concentration. Discord yawned to show his unimpressed state but was cut short when the Elements, save Magic and Blaze, began to pulse and fire laser-like projectiles randomly across the world. Discord saw what was happening,

“NOOOOOOOO!!!” he shouted as the seven rose into the air. Twilight opened her eyes, which were glowing with pure Magic and the combined power of the Elements of Harmony. Blaze yells,

“Now, As One!” as he raises Hypernova skyward acting as a lightning rod focusing that combined power into one attack as a double helix rainbow collided with his own blast, opening his eyes and his cloak now gone, he shouted,

“We will not be broken; This is the power of Unity, Discord!” With that the attack hit Discord, petrifying him back into a marble statue and restoring the world to normal.

After the Element bearers walked up to Celestia, Blaze was there in his tattered cloak, hood drawn. The Princess proclaimed to all present:

“We are gathered here today, to once again honor the heroism of these six friends who stood up to the villain, Discord. And saved Equestria from Eternal Chaos. And, I am pleased to announce the newly forged alliance between our world and the worlds of Okoto and Spherus Magna! And honor the Keyblade Wielder who helped in this struggle to protect this land from forces of Darkness”

She nods to Blaze whom turns towards the crowd and removes his cloak revealing his true form to all in the room. He turns back towards Celestia and bows. The group of seven turn to their right as Celestia unveils a stained glass window depicting them petrifying Discord. Then Hypernova appears in Blaze’s hand as at the middle of the window a Keyhole appears. The Kingdom Hearts Crown symbol ignites beneath Blaze sending him to the gateway of Equestria’s heart. He fires a blast into the Keyhole not only acting as a protection against The Darkness but also, integrating Equestria into the Hypergate Network. The blinding light fades and all cheer, taking it as a sign of good things to come. And an etheric matoran stands next to Blazewing Inferno: Keyblade Wielder, Elemental of Fire, Mask Maker and friend of Equestria.
