> A Love That Can Heal Your Pain > by Jordanwolfboy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: A Fresh Start > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Depression. This was the only emotion you’ve felt throughout your entire life. No other emotion seemed to have any affect on you other than this one. That’s because your life has always been going downhill. Bad luck and sadness always seemed to loom over you and your family. For as long as you can remember, it’s always been this way. You can’t remember if there was ever a time where you felt something other than sadness. All of the people that you met were always so angry and mean spirited that you soon grew used to it, but that didn’t mean that you were happy with it. It never seemed to stop until today. Your mom and dad had finally raised enough money to move once more, but this time it was different. The reason is because you were told about a nice little town not too far away from the one you were currently in that had a lot of nice people in it. A place called Canterlot. You didn’t believe them at first because you were tainted by depression for so long that it didn’t even allow you to do something as simple as smiling. Nevertheless, you were determined to go through with this. If it meant that you could finally be happy for once in your life, then who were you to say no. When you arrived at Canterlot, you were greeted by the people with smiles and waves. You were initially shocked by this change in people’s personalities. Someone actually being nice to you? That didn’t seem possible until this very moment. You arrived at your new home and unpacked everything into the two story building. When you were done packing, your mom had told you that you were going to start attending the local school this upcoming Monday. You began to ponder how the students would treat you. Hopefully as nice as everyone else has been so far. With everything that has happened to you in your life, you were hoping for a chance for that to change. After the weekend rolled by, you were driven to school by your mom because your dad had to go out and start looking for jobs in the area. As your mom was driving, she looked over to you with a concerned expression. “Sweetie, are you feeling okay with attending this new school?” your mom asked. “I know this seems like a big change from your previous school, but I was hoping that you would be happy with this. I’ve heard from many sources that this is a really nice school. The principal and vice principal are really nice, the students are wonderful with each other, and the campus itself is very clean. I was hoping that would cheer you up after......well you know.” You look over to her and give her a reassuring nod. “I know. I get it. After everything we’ve been through, it would be nice to have something good to happen to us finally.” you say. She began to smile a little bit after hearing your words. “Good, I just want you to know that your father and I only want what’s best for you.” You nod as you finally arrived at the school. “Well, have a good day honey. I’ll pick you up later today. Don’t forget to pick up your schedule from the main office.” She said. You nod. “I’ll try to make a good first impression today.” After saying goodbye to your mom, you start making your way towards the front doors of Canterlot High. As you walked, you noticed a few of the students were looking over in your direction. They started to smile and waved at you. Your eyes widened a bit after seeing this. This was the first school that you’ve been to that had students who were actually nice to you. Could this finally be it? The day you were hoping to experience for the first time in your miserable life? The day you would finally feel happiness. Your lips began to curve upward as if this was their first time ever trying to smile which it probably was. You began to smile as the sadness seemed to be nonexistent. You marched towards the front doors and opened them. You were greeted by the rather beautiful layout of the inside of the school. Before you could marvel at it any further, you reminded yourself that you had to pick up your schedule. Since you were new to this school, you had no idea where to go. So you decided that you had to ask some of the students. You looked around until you saw a kid with spikey blue hair. He seemed nice, so you walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. “Um, excuse me.” You asked nervously. He turns around and looks at you. “Can I help you?” He asked. “Yeah, I was wondering if you could tell me where I can find the principal’s office.” You say. He looks at you for a moment and gives you a smile. “Oh, you’re new here aren’t you?” He asked “Um, yeah. I am.” You say. “Well in that case, it’s down the hall and to the right. It should be the fifth door on the left wall.” He says as he points to one of the long hallways. “Thanks. Uhh, I’m Anon by the way.” You say nervously. “No problem. I’m Flash. Flash Sentry. It’s nice to meet you Anon.” He says while holding out his hand. You grab it and he shakes it rather enthusiastically. “Well, I need to start heading towards my class. Maybe we could start hanging out since your new?” Flash asked. “Y-Yeah sure. I’ll see you later.” You say as you began to walk away. He waves back at you as he walks towards the other hallway. You began to congratulate yourself for not messing up with talking to Flash. Maybe this was the beginning of something fantastic. Maybe this was finally the time that your life was going to be good. You still held onto your smile as you made your way to the principal’s office. > Chapter 2: This New Feeling > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You walked towards the principal’s office and stopped just outside the door. You took a deep breath and knocked. A woman’s voice could be heard on the other side. “Come in.” She said with a rather graceful voice. You opened the door and saw a woman with pure white skin and beautiful flowing hair. She wore a light brown suit over her purple vest. She was sitting at her desk sorting out papers and putting them in the correct files. For some reason, you couldn’t help but feel like she somehow had a lot of authority despite being a principal. She looks at you with a gentle smile. “May I help you with something young man?” She asked. “I’m Anon. I came to get my schedule.” You said. She nods. “Ahh yes, your mom called me this last Friday.” She stood up from her chair and held out her hand. “I’m Principal Celestia. It’s nice to meet you. Welcome to Canterlot High.” You shook her hand and you took a seat in front of her desk as she sat in her own. “I believe that you are going have a wonderful time here at our school. The students here are magnificent once you get to know them.” She said while smiling. “I heard. To be honest, this is the very first school that I’ve ever been to that was really great. Not just with the campus, but the students as well. Everyone here is really nice.” You said with a smile. “That’s very good to hear, wait for just a moment please. I’ll get your schedule right away.” She says as she stood up and walked to one of her file cabinets. She began to go through each file to find the one with your information inside. As she was searching, you picked up and started reading some of the newspapers that she had on her desk. You were confused by what you read. Apparently, a bunch of strange things have happened at this school involving magic. One involved a demon trying to take over an alternate universe during the fall formal, one that involved three girls who apparently acted like Sirens who tried to take over the world with their singing during the musical showcase which was later called the Battle of the Bands, one involving giant Venus fly traps, portals, and a student who was controlled by magic during the Friendship Games, and another event involving the students going on a field trip to Camp Everfree when one of the camp counselors turned into a power crazed lunatic who was apparently scared of losing the camp to local billionaire Filthy Rich and she was having none of it by trapping everyone with giant thorny vines. You were a bit skeptical at first until you saw the picture with the third article. From what you saw, there used to be a giant horse statue on top of the four mirror pedestal in the front yard of the school before it was blown to smithereens by the student controlled by magic. You didn’t see the statue when you came to the school so you just assumed at first that the pedestal was just for the mirrors. Boy, and you thought that you went through so many crazy things in your life. Before you could think about this any longer, Principal Celestia finally grabbed a file with your name on it. She handed it to you and you opened it to find a list of school events and time periods as well as your schedule. “Alright, there you go. If you need anything you are always welcome to come by my office anytime. Or if I’m not here you can speak with my sister Vice Principal Luna. Her office is just few doors down away from mine.” She said as she took a seat in her chair. “Thank you so much with this.” You said as you beamed at her. “You’re welcome, it is my job after all. But before you go, you should probably get a tour of the school before you head to your first class.” She says as she picks up a school microphone and presses the button. “Sunset Shimmer, please report to my office. I have a student who needs a tour.” She says before letting go of the button. Sunset Shimmer? Nice name. Weird, but nice. You and Celestia wait for a few minutes until someone knocks on the door. “Come in Sunset.” Celestia calls out before the door opens. When you saw who stepped through the door, you could have sworn that your heart went into hyper drive because it suddenly started beating a lot faster when you saw her. She was a very beautiful girl with red and yellow highlights in her hair who wore a black leather jacket with some orange on the sleeves. She wore a light blue dress underneath the jacket with pants to go along with it. She also wore high heeled boots that matched her jacket. “Hi Principal Celestia.” She says with a smile before turning towards you. “So he’s the one that I need to show around the school?” She asked as she eyed you. “Yes, I hope that I didn’t pull you out of anything important.” Celestia says. “Nah, I was just hanging out with my friends. I’d be more than happy to show the new guy around the school.” Sunset says with a lot of enthusiasm. She turns to you and holds out her hand. “Hi, I’m Sunset Shimmer. It’s nice to meet you.” You couldn’t answer her at first as you were mesmerized by her sheer beauty. What was this feeling? You’ve never felt it before in your whole life. Just looking at her is inducing this new feeling. Sunset smiled as she raised an eyebrow at your shocked expression. She giggled as she waved her hand in front of your face. “Um, hello? Anyone home?” She jokingly asked. You snapped out of your trance by shaking your head. “W-What? Oh, um, I’m Anon. It's nice to meet you too.” You said as the both of you shook hands. “Well, right this way. If we want to see everything it’s best that we should go now before first period starts.” She says as she stands in the doorway. “Right, right. See you later Principal Celestia.” You said as you started walking out the door. “See you later you two.” She calls back. As you followed Sunset towards the first section of the school, you couldn’t help but gawk at her. You tried to understand what was going on with you, but you just couldn’t put it into words. This new feeling upon seeing her and your inability to talk normally around her, what could it be? Perhaps it’s another feeling that was suppressed by the constant depression in your life. You just didn’t know what to call it. > Chapter 3: Making New Friends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "And these are the art classes." Sunset says as she showed you a different section of the school. You tried to listen to what she said, you really did, but you just couldn't help but stare at her from time to time. The way of how her hair would effortlessly shimmer in the sun and that remarkable smile that can brighten a dark room. It was all just captivating. "Hey, are you listening?" She says looking back at you with a slight giggle in her voice. "Huh, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I-I was listening." You stuttered trying to cover the fact that you were staring. She giggles once again. "You seem distracted, is everything okay?" She asked. "Y-Yeah, yeah, I was just thinking. I've just got a lot of things on my mind right now, you know? With me being new here and all. Just wondering about what I'll experience." You said nervously trying to cover up the actual reason. "Well, I hope you remember what I showed you today or else you'll probably get lost." She said teasing you. "Don't worry, I think I've got a pretty decent idea of where to go." You said trying to reassure her. "I'll take your word for it. Anyway, now that that's out of the way. Is it okay if I ask you something?" Sunset asked. "Sure. Fire away." you responded. "Would you like to join me and my friends for lunch today? I'd like to introduce you to them. I hope that it wouldn't be weird or anything. What with you being the only guy there." She asked. "Uhh, sure. I'll meet your friends. I'm pretty sure that I won't be doing anything during that time anyway." You responded. She smiles at your answer. "Great." Before you could utter another word, the bell for first period rings. Dang it, you were hoping to talk to her a little bit longer. Oh well, at least you'll be able to do it during lunch. You hope that her friends are nice. "Well, I've gotta get going. I'll see you later Anon." She says as she started walking away. "You too, Sunset." You responded as you waved her Good-bye. You started walking towards your first period which was History. Things seemed to be going really well between you and Sunset. She seemed to like talking to you as much as you did with her. You still had no idea what you were feeling when you talked or even looked at her. This was probably something that you could ask someone about. Maybe your parents perhaps. After your first set of classes, you head to the cafeteria. You were greeted by what you would usually find in a cafeteria: tables lined up in rows, seats, the bar where you get your food, the whole works. You entered through the double doors and went to get your lunch. When you grabbed your tray, you looked around for somewhere to sit. "Anon! Over here!" Sunset calls gaining your attention. You look over in her direction and see her sitting with six other girls. She motions for you to sit next to her as the others look at you. You put on a smile and walk over and sit next to her. Sunset turns her attention to the others. "Girls, this is Anon. He transferred here today." She says as she looks back at you. "Anon." She begins listing them one by one. "This is Twilight Sparkle." "Hi there." Twilight says. "Applejack." "Howdy." Applejack says. "Rarity." "Hello darling." Rarity says. "Pinkie Pie." "HI!!!!" Pinkie shouts happily. "Rainbow Dash" "Sup." Rainbow says. "And Fluttershy" "Um...hi." Fluttershy says in a whisper but can still be heard. "Hey Everybody." You responded. "So, where are you from Anon?" Twilight asked. You paused for a moment. That was honestly a good question for you at least. As you passed through life and constantly traveled, you never really had the time or effort to memorize where you've been. Everything was always a blur from start to finish ever since you were born due to you always being depressed. You just never had that kind of incentive to want to remember. Now that twilight is asking this question, you honestly didn't have an answer. "Uh......I don't really know." You answered honestly. Twilight, Sunset, and the others were confused by your answer. "What do ya mean ya don't know?" Applejack asked. "I don't know. It never really occurred to me to ever remember where I go and where I've been until now." You said. "You mean you don't know where you came from? So, does that make you an orphan then darling?" Rarity asked. "No, I'm not. I have a mom and a dad and I still live with them. It's just that I've never taken the time to ever remember my surroundings." You said as you started feeling the sadness return. The girls were even more confused. There was silence for a moment until Rainbow Dash spoke up. "Well, why don't you just ask your parents then?" She asked. "Well, that's another thing. They travel so much that they too never really take the time to get acquainted each place that we visited." You said. "Um...can we ask why you constantly moved?" Fluttershy asked. You stayed silent for a few moments. To be honest, you didn't really want to answer that question because....well, you know the reason. "Uh.....well....I uh." You tried to say trying to hold back the rising depression. "Hey, if you don't wanna talk about it, then that's fine." Sunset said with a reassuring smile. You cheered up instantly upon hearing her words. "Thanks." You responded. "So, what's your guys' story?" This earned smiles from Sunset's circle of friends. You learned about each of them and their respectable interests. Twilight Sparkle was a scientist and bookworm who once attended another school called Crystal Prep Academy, Applejack worked on a farm with her family, Rarity was a fashionista who made all kinds of clothing, Pinkie Pie was a party planner who always strived to make her friends laugh and smile, Rainbow Dash was the captain of pretty much every team at Canterlot High, and Fluttershy was a quiet girl who loves animals so much that she volunteers her time at the local animal shelter in town. You grew to like each and everyone of them and they seemed to like you too. These girls were without a doubt some of the greatest people that you've ever met. Some of the kids that you met previously in the other schools that you attended often pretended to be your friends just so they could stab you in the back later on. These girls however, they were different. You felt like you could have an actual friendship with them. You honestly couldn't believe it; things were finally turning around for you. You can finally be happy after many years of sadness. You couldn't wait for the next day when you would see them again, especially Sunset Shimmer. > Chapter 4: Revelations > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was probably the best day of your life. The students at Canterlot High School were really nice people. Especially the seven girls that you came to know as the rainbooms since you learned that they became a band sometime ago. These girls were the best people that you've ever met. But the one that stood out the most was Sunset. After saying goodbye to your new friends, you waited outside of school for your mom to pick you up. You still had no idea why Sunset stood out more than her friends in your eyes, but that's a conundrum that would have to be solved later. After a few minutes of waiting, her car pulls into the driveway. You walk up and open the passenger door. "Hi sweetie, how was your first day here?" She asked. "It was fantastic!!" You happily replied while climbing inside. "Really? You had a wonderful time?" She asked. You nodded to her answer. "See? Didn't we tell you that this place was amazing before we moved here?" She playfully asked with a smile. "Well, I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time honey. I have a feeling that things are finally gonna turn around for us." She says as she drove towards home. "I agree. With everything that has happened to us, it's great to finally catch a break." You said as you looked out the windows as you watched the buildings go by. "So I assume that you made some new friends maybe?" She asked. You proceeded to tell her about Sunset Shimmer and the others and about how nice some of the teachers and other students were. She looks back at you with a look of accomplishment. "That's great to hear." She said. Suddenly, a thought came up in your head and you turn back to your mom. "Hey, mom? Can I ask you something?" "Sure, what is it?" She replied. "Umm, that girl that I talked about, the one named Sunset Shimmer, for some reason whenever I talked to her, looked at her, or even be in her presence I felt.........something. I suddenly felt so nervous when I first met her. I don't really know what, but I just felt weird. Why is that?" You asked hoping that she would have an answer to that. To your surprise, her eyes widen and a coy smile comes across her face. "Oh, looks like my son is in love." She replies. Love? Is that what you felt? You've never heard about this emotion before in your life. You were always dealing with depression that you never took the time to properly learn about it. You then turn your attention back to your mom. "Love? What's that?" You asked. "It's when you have deep affection or care for someone. It's the same feeling that I have for your father as he does for me. Have you never felt it before?" She asked. You shook your head to her question. "Was it because of....well....you know?" You nodded to the second question. She has a surprised look on her face the whole time. "Well I'm sorry that you haven't experienced any of it until now. It's a wonderful feeling I tell you." She said as she focused on driving. You looked out the passenger window as you made a decision to find as much information about love as you're able to. When you made it home, you went to your laptop to learn more about this so called "Love." After about a few hours of searching, you started to gain a clear understanding of what love is and how it works. The more you thought about what happened to today the more it started to make sense. The way of how you suddenly became extremely nervous when you were around her, the fact that you couldn't speak coherently sometimes, and how you couldn't stop thinking about her on the car ride back home. You then began to ponder how you would go about this situation. But as you were thinking about how to handle this your father walked into your room with his usual brown coat hanging over his shoulder. "Hey son, your mom told me that you had an amazing day today." He said as he took a seat on the edge of your bed. You spun around in your seat in order to face him and gave him a huge grin. "Yeah, I did dad. I made all sorts of new friends today." You said with a dash of glee in your voice. "I know. It must feel amazing to finally be away from all the drama we faced over the years right?" He asked a grin of his own. "Oh you don't know the half of it. This was probably the greatest day of my entire life!!" You exclaimed as you threw your arms in the air for dramatic effect. Your dad nodded at your enthusiasm. "Well that's great to hear. Also your mom told me that apparently you met a girl today. Is that true?" Your dad asked with a sly grin. "One called Sunset Shimmer?" You blushed at the mention of her. “Ye-yes. She’s one of the new friends I made. Along with a few other girls.” You say while trying to look away from his all knowing eyes. “Well I’m glad to see that my son finally has his eyes on a girl. I’ll tell you one thing, when I met your mom it was practically love at first sight. I know that sounds cheesy but it was essentially true.” He says while staring off into space with a nostalgic smile. He walks over to you and places a hand on your shoulder and looks at you with a serious expression. “Anon, is it true that you’ve never experienced love before we moved here or learned about it? I ask this because your mom told me about it.” You look down with a bit of a frown for a few seconds before looking back up at him. “It’s true dad. I couldn’t learn about it because of..........well everything else.” You say while trying not to remember every vivid detail or letting a tear slip out of your eyes. He looks at you with a sympathetic look. “Oh, I’m sorry Anon. If I had known earlier then I would have gladly taught you. Well it’s like the old saying goes, better late then than never. But anyways, I’m sorry it took so long.” He says while giving you a reassuring look. You look back up at him with a smile. “It’s alright dad. It’s like you said, better late than never. I’m just hoping that all this luck we’ve been having lately can last for a while.” You say. “I hope so too. Well I’m gonna help your mom with dinner I’ll see you later Anon.” He says while he makes his way to your door. “Alright dad, thanks for the talk.” “No problem.” After that he leaves. You lean back into your chair and stare at the ceiling. A smile slowly makes its way onto your face as you think about Sunset and the others. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t wait for what tomorrow might bring.” You say to yourself as you go back to researching. > Chapter 5: Hangout with the Rainbooms > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Next Day You eagerly arrived at Canterlot High with the biggest grin on your face. Yesterday was such a good day for you that you honestly couldn’t wait for today. It really seemed like you had finally gotten the break from what was essentially a lifetime of pain and sadness. After saying your goodbyes to your mom you walk briskly towards the front doors of the school. You open them and are greeted with the usual sight of teens hanging out and talking with each other. You look around and see a familiar fiery haired girl rummaging through her locker. You smile and walked towards her. “Hey Sunset!” You called before she turns and looks in your direction and smiles. “Hey Anon!” She says as you make your way over to her. “How are you doing today?” She asks. “Great. How about you?” You ask. “Good. I was just about to go and find the others, wanna come with?” She asks. “Sure!” You reply as you follow her through the hallway. As the two of you walk she starts up a conversation. “So Anon, how’s your time at CHS so far?” She asks. “It’s amazing Sunset! Everyone here is so nice and it just feels like I really belong here.” You say with a ton of enthusiasm. “Also, I really wanna thank you for letting me be a part of your group of friends. Before I came here I honestly thought I wouldn’t have a bunch of friends so really thank you for this.” You said with sincerity. “Aww you’re welcome. No one like you deserves to not have friends to hang around with.” She said. You then look over to her with a sudden hint of curiosity. “Hey Sunset, yesterday I learned a lot about your friends but I don’t think you’ve said a word about yourself. Is it okay if I ask you what your all about so I can get to know you better?” You ask. “Sure, well I.......I.” She stops and suddenly gets a conflicted look on her face. You stare at her with a raised eyebrow. “Sunset? Are you okay?” You ask. “Y-Yeah I’m fine, it’s just.....um.....” She looks away from you for a bit before looking back up at you. “Look, it’s not that I don’t want to tell you, but can we talk about this at another time?” She asked. Your surprised at first but you give her an understanding nod. “Alright, you don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. I’m sorry if I upset you in any way.” You said feeling a little bit guilty. She gives you a reassuring smile. “No no it’s okay, it’s just kinda hard to talk about. Anyways, Let’s check the music room and see if they’re there.” She says as the two of you continued walking. You couldn’t help but feel a little bit curious about Sunsets past. Did she have a troubled life before coming here as well? That would certainly be something big that the both of you have in common. You didn’t know for sure and you were hoping to find out one day. After a few minutes of walking, you make your way to the music room. You open the double doors and sure enough they were there. They see you both and they each greet you in their own respective ways before Pinkie runs straight up to you with huge toothy grin. “Hi Nonny! Have a cupcake!” She says before pulling a cupcake out of seemingly nowhere and hands it out to you. You stand there for a bit before thinking to yourself. ‘Okay first of all, Nonny? That’s the first time someones called me that; not that I’m complaining or anything. Second of all, where did she get that cupcake?’ You thought before shrugging internally and accepting the cupcake. “Thanks Pinkie. But what’s the occasion?” You ask. She giggled at your question. “Think of it as a welcome to CHS cupcake silly! Also the writer wanted me to do it.” She said while smiling and letting out a squee. “Who?” You ask. “Never mind!” She says before zooming back to her drum set. You stand there with a bit of a baffled look before shaking your head and coming back down to earth. Sunset leans over and whispers into your ear. “Don’t mind her. She says the weirdest things sometimes.” She says before giving a playful eye roll. “Oooookay.” You said while walking over to the others. “So, you guys are practicing?” You ask. “In a moment, we were just waiting for Sunset to get here. Wanna watch us play Anon?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Sure, I’ve got nothing else better to do anyways so let me see what you got.” You say before pulling up a foldable chair and sitting down. Rainbow gets a cocky grin on her face before grabbing her guitar along with everyone else getting their respective instruments with the exception of Pinkie who was already at her drum set. “Alright Anon Y Mous, prepare to have your socks knocked off!” Rainbow exclaimed before she and the rest of the girls started playing a song called Awesome as I wanna be. After the song was finished, you sat there in astonishment. The girls eagerly waited for your response, mostly Rainbow Dash. “So what do you think?” Rainbow asked. “That......was.......AMAZING!!! You guys should totally play in concerts, crowds would go nuts for you!!” You exclaimed. “Aww shucks Sugarcube, you’re gonna make us blush.” Applejack says while doing just that. “Tell us darling, have you ever played an instrument before?” Rarity asks. You look down with a bit of a frown. “Well.....no. I was kind of dealing with everything else to ever have the time or the interest to play any instruments. Plus, I don’t think I’d be good at it.” You say disappointingly. “Well if you want we can teach you.” Rainbow offered. You perk up upon hearing this. “Really?” You ask. “Absolutely, I’m sure we can squeeze in one more member for the Rainbooms, right girls?” Rainbow asks which the other girls agreed to. “Well, since you’re offering I’ll give it a shot.” You say which gets the girls hyped up. Before you could actually begin however, the bell for the first class rings. “Aww shoot, sorry Anon but we’ll have to teach ya another time.” Applejack says with disappointment. “It’s alright you guys at least we have something to do later.” You say reassuringly. After putting away their instruments, you and the Rainbooms head to your first classes. After school ended, you waited outside for your mom. While you waited you hear someone calling your name. You turned around and saw Sunset jogging towards you. “Sunset? What’s up?” You ask. “I was wondering if you wanted to maybe come over to my house this weekend to hang out?” She asked. You were initially taken aback by this. No one has ever invited you to their house before so this was something rather new for you. You smiled before giving her your answer. “Sure Sunset, I’d love to come over.” You said which made Sunset smile. “Great! I’ll see you then, oh but before I go how about I give you my number?” She asked. “Alright.” You said before giving each other your phone numbers. “Ok. If you ever wanna talk don’t be afraid to call or text me.” She said with a smile. “I will. See you later Sunset.” You said before waving her goodbye. “See you Anon!” She says while jogging away to her home. You stand there looking at her phone number on your phone and you couldn’t help but smile as your mom finally pulled up and you got in the car and proceeded to tell her about your day. > Chapter 6: Time with Sunset > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "And that's how my day went." You finished talking about your day to your mom and dad during dinner. They both had the biggest grins on their faces. "Well it's such a relief that your having such a great time at school Anon, right dear?" Your mom asks your dad. "It sure is honey. So Anon, did anything else happen with that Sunset girl you were talking about?" Your dad asked with a sly grin which also lead to your mom having the same facial expression. You started to blush while trying to avoid eye contact. "Uhh…..well, as a matter of fact something did kind of happen." You said with a hint of nervousness. Your parents became curious upon hearing this. "Well what is it son?" Your father asked. "Before you picked me up from school mom, Sunset actually came up to me and gave me her number." You said which surprised both of your parents. "Well well well, looks like my son has finally gotten a girls number." Your father said with a coy smile. "Also, Sunset actually asked me if I wanted to hang out with her on Friday this week. I was wondering if it's okay if I can go?" You asked. Both of your parents seemed confused by your question. "What kind of question is that sweetie? Of course you can go. Right dear?" Your mom asked your dad. "Yeah absolutely! A girl asking our son to her place, I always knew this day would come!" Your dad exclaimed happily. You on the other hand were constantly looking away with your face being red with embarrassment. “Well, alright then. I hope you guys can stay entertained without me.” You said jokingly. “Of course we can Anon! We hope you have a great time with Sunset.” She says with an eager smile along with your father who was nodding. “And if she tries to go in for a kiss, you let it happen.” Your dad said jokingly. Your mom playfully punches his shoulder. “Dear come on! Don’t joke like that it’s way too early!” Your mom says which gets a chuckle out of him. “Aw, come on honey, didn’t we kiss during our first hangout when we were his age?” He said jokingly. She scoffed at him. “Yeah right.” She says while shaking her head. Your dad winks at you which you chuckled at before resuming with dinner. Friday Afternoon After the school day was finished, you waited outside for Sunset Shimmer. A few minutes pass until you see Sunset and the others walking out the front doors. She sees you and smiles before saying goodbye to the others. They wave to you and you wave back before they take their leave and Sunset walks up to you and surprised you with a hug. “Hey Anon.” She says while still hugging you. You hugged her back. “Hey Sunset, ready to go?” You ask before breaking the hug. She nods before leading you to her house. After about a five to ten minute walk, the two of you make it to her house. It was a simple two story orange building. You and Sunset walk towards the door but something makes you stop dead in your tracks. For some reason, something deep down inside you was telling you not to do this. You weren’t sure why you were feeling like this. It was a simple hangout with a friend nothing more, right? You felt something crawl down your cheek and you wiped it to see a single tear. A tear? You were crying? Why were you crying? You were brought out of your thoughts by Sunset saying your name. “Anon? Are you okay?” She asked whilst giving a concerned look. You look back at her before getting rid of the tear quickly before smiling at her. “Yeah, I’m okay. Let’s head inside.” You said. She looks at you for a few more seconds before turning and unlocking her door and stepping inside while you followed her. You took a moment to look around at the interior of the house; gawking at how nice and clean it was. "Wow Sunset, you have a really nice home." You complimented. "Thanks, I usually try my best to keep the place clean." She says while hanging her coat up and taking her boots off. She looks over to you and sees you standing there looking at the place. You look back at her and notice her looking at you. You both stare at each other for a few seconds before she speaks up. "Well don't just stand there, make yourself at home." She says while smiling that amazing smile. You do as she says and take a seat on the couch. She goes into the kitchen while you wait out in the living room for her. You look around some more before your eyes settle on the coffee table in front of you. You notice that there was a book on the table with a picture of a shimmering sun on the front but with no title. Curiosity comes in as you slowly reach your hand out for the book before hesitating. It was probably something private of hers. Seeing as how you didn't want to upset her by going through her personal stuff, you bring your hand back to your lap just before Sunset comes back with two sodas. She hands you one before opening hers. "Thanks." You said before opening yours and taking a drink. "No problem." She says before drinking hers and sitting down next to you. You look over to her as she quietly sips on her drink before you start up a conversation. "So Sunset, if your comfortable now, why not tell me a little bit about yourself." You say hoping to get to know her better since you weren't really able to these past few days due to school work and generally forgetting to ask. She looks at you for a bit before she puts her can down and starts. "Well, as you saw earlier this week I like playing the guitar. I also like reading, hanging out with my friends, singing, and playing video games." She says. You were surprised by the last one. "You're a gamer girl?" You asked. "Yeah, I am. At first I wasn't too into them, but as time went on I found them to be rather interesting and I eventually started playing. I'm actually thinking about starting my own game channel on Hooftube." She says. "Well, if you do start a channel, I think you'll definitely be one of the best." You said. She blushes from the compliment and looks away from you cutely. "Aww, that's really sweet of you to say. But I don't think I would have one of the best channels." She said while trying to remain humble. "Well I beg to differ Sunset. If you're able to get this going and if you keep up on making the videos interesting, you should be able to make a really great channel." You said. She smiles at you before giving you a hug. "Thank you. You really don't know how much it means to me to hear words of encouragement like that." She says before separating the hug. You smile and stare at each other for about a minute before you speak up. "Hey, can I ask you something? And it's okay if you don't wanna answer it." You ask her. "What is it?" She asks. "Why did you seem so hesitant to tell me about yourself when I asked you the first time?" You asked. She went wide eyed before getting the same conflicted look that she had that day. She sits there for a few seconds before looking back at you. "Alright, I tell you. I guess you were bound to find out about this sooner or later so I may as well get it out of the way immediately. If I do though, you have to promise me that you'll believe what I'm saying no matter how weird or insane it sounds, okay?" She asked. You nodded in response. She takes a deep breath. "Ok, here we go." She silently says to herself before explaining. Apparently, she wasn't a normal person, she was from an alternate dimension called Equestria where the inhabitants were a race of sentient ponies and that magic was a common thing there. How there were three main races and one special race of ponies: Earth pony, Unicorn, Pegasus, and Alicorn and that she was a unicorn. She explained how she was a student of Equestrias Princess Celestia. How she had learned about this portal that was a gateway to another world; your world. She explained that she had tried gaining ultimate power by becoming an alicorn but Princess Celestia wouldn't let her. She grew angry with her teacher and went behind her back by trying to figure out how to become an alicorn. Celestia found out and had banished her from her castle, but Sunset got away and stumbled into this world via the portal and how all this happened years ago. This was all VERY surprising to you but she continued anyway. She also explained how during some time here at CHS she was the bully queen for a while. She would belittle, torture, humiliate, and insult anyone if they even so much as looked at her funny. She basically ruled the school with an iron fist before the events the fall formal. She goes on to explain the events involving a look alike of Twilight who was princess in Equestria how, after gaining ahold of Princess Twilights crown, she turned into a raging she-demon as she put it. She was defeated by Princess Twilight and her friends which lead to her learning from her mistakes and trying to turn over a new leaf after that. She then explained the events of the musical show case, the friendship games, and the camp everfree trip. "And that's all you have to know about me." She finally came to a conclusion. You just stood there trying to take in everything she said. She seems to have gone through a lot of horrible things in the past; just like you. You found it rather shocking that she used to be a really mean person. This sweet girl in front of you used to be a bully? It really was a lot to absorb. She watched you for a some time before speaking up. "Aren't you going to say something?" She asked. "Well...…….I will say that you've definitely been through a lot Sunset. So you're from another world and that you're actually a pony?" You asked to which she nodded. "That definitely explains why that horse statue is no longer there. I had a feeling there was something special about that mirror in the courtyard." You said. "I understand that it's a lot to take in but it's all true, every bit of it. So now that you know, what do you think of me?" She asked in a serious tone of voice. You thought for a moment before looking back at her. "What do I think? I think that the fact that you used to be mean and that you managed to turn yourself around makes you even more likable in my eyes. Because it shows that you were willing to change yourself from the person......or pony...….or whichever one into a very sweet, kind, and gentle girl that I've come to know. I don't care that you used to be a bully Sunset because that's who you used to be not who you are now." You said honestly. She looks at you for a moment before her eyes are filled with tears and she gives you a bone breaking hug. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This means so much to me to hear you say that!" She exclaims while still embracing you. you return the hug as best as you could due to the lack of breathing from the huge hug. "It's no problem Sunset." You stay like that for a while, just enjoying the others embrace. You separate and she smiles at you. You smiled back at her before noticing that the sun was about to set. "Oh shoot, I didn't realize that were talking for so long. I better get going or else my moms gonna kill me." You say before standing up. Sunset seemed disappointed at first but throws on a smile and walks with you to the door. "Alright. It was really nice to hang out with you Anon. I hope we can do it again soon." She says. "It was nice hanging out with you too Sunset. And yeah, we should totally hang out again sometime." You said enthusiastically. You step outside her door before turning back to her. "I'll see you later Sunset." You said. "I'll you later too Anon. Wait! Before you go, I wanna give you something." She says. "What is it?" You asked. She walks up to you and gives you a kiss on the cheek. You blush from the contact and the suddenness of it. She pulls away before smiling at you. "That's for giving me a good day today." She says before walking back into her house and closing the door. You stood there for what seemed like hours but was really only a few minutes trying to process what just happened. She just kissed you on the cheek. No girl has ever done that for you. Suddenly out of nowhere that feeling that you had hours ago came back again telling you that this was somehow wrong even though you couldn't really see how it was in any way wrong. You contemplated for a bit before your phone buzzed signaling that you had a message. You looked and saw it was from your mom asking if you were ready to come home. You texted her back telling her that you were ready and telling her the address before waiting for her to come pick you up. After a few minutes your mom finally came by and the both of you drove back home. > Chapter 7: A Sunset with Sunset > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday Morning The sun rose on another day as the sunshine beamed through your bedside window. This didn’t wake you up however as you were in the middle of a nightmare. In it, you were running in a dark void away from creatures that looked like your friends except they were more like gremlins almost. They were trying to get to you but you wouldn’t let them. As you were running, a huge flame wall burst in front of you and behind you. You looked up to see what looked to be Sunset Shimmer, but was more.......demonic looking. Her hair was standing straight up, her skin was a hellish red, and her eyes were soulless black with cyan irises. The demon looked down upon you and laughed sinisterly. “Do you honestly think that you’re “friends” actually want you around?! You are sadly mistaken! They are only with you out of PITY! They don’t care about you and they never will!!” The demon bellowed. You fell to the ground slowly backing away from this creature with tears in your eyes. “No......NO!! I refuse to believe you!! They are my friends!! They would never hurt me!!” You screamed at the demon. But this only angered her. “They don’t care!! NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU!! Have you seriously forgotten the last time this happened?!” She roared at you. This only confused you. “What are you talking about?!” You asked. The demon gets a smirk on her face. “You don’t remember do you?” She asked. You say there trying to figure out what she meant by that. Before you can think about it more the demon starts laughing again. “This is so sad!! I can’t believe that you can’t remember!! I’ll tell you what, I’ll leave you to remember on your own!! Until then, YOU’R MINE!!!” She screams while reaching out for you while passing through the flames like they were nothing. You tried to get back up but the darkness was holding you down. “No.....Nooo.......NOOOOOOO!!!!!” You yelled as you woke up screaming. You sat up panting heavily as you held your face in your hands. Your face was stained with tears as you got a grip on reality again. “Man, what a horrible dream.” You said to yourself. That demon had to have been wrong. Your friends did care about you, Sunset Shimmer cares about you, right? As you were thinking about what happened, your mom and dad came briskly walking in to see if you were okay. “Anon, are you alright? We heard you screaming and we came to check on you.” Your mom said with a worried expression. Your dad had the same look as you tried to calm yourself. “Yeah......yeah I’m okay. Just a nightmare is all.” You said while trying not to worry them. “A nightmare?” Your father asked. You nodded in response. “Do you wanna talk about?” “Honey, he doesn’t have to if doesn’t want to.” Your mom said back to him. You were all right with talking about it. “No, no it’s alright mom. I’d like to talk about it.” You said reassuringly. She looks back at you. “Are you sure sweetheart?” She asked. You nodded before telling them what happened in the dream. You left out the part where the demon said that you had forgotten something because you wanted to deal with it on your own. They were surprised upon hearing all of it but they kept quiet until you were finished. “Man, that sounds like one nasty nightmare.” Your father commented. You nodded before turning to the both of them. “I’m fine you guys. It’s just a bad dream.” You say while putting on a smile, but you were really only doing this to not make them worry. They both understood and stood back up from sitting on your bed. “Alright sweetie, we just want to make sure you’re okay. Anyways, breakfast is about to start so come on down when you’re ready.” Your mom said before kissing your forehead and walking out and your dad lightly ruffled your hair and followed her out. You got dressed in your casual clothes before going to the bathroom to freshen up. You washed your face with water before looking at yourself in the mirror. “What did she mean by what happened last time?” You asked yourself. You decided to think about it later and walked out of the bathroom and headed downstairs where your mom and dad were preparing breakfast. You sat down at the table and waited before your mom came and placed your plate in front of you: Scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage, and French toast. You thanked them as you dug into your food. As you were eating, your phone buzzed in your pocket. You checked to see that you got a text from Sunset Shimmer. Hey Anon! How are you this morning? You smiled at seeing her text. You decided to text her back. I’m doing good. Just having breakfast with my mom and dad. How about you? You waited before getting a response. I’m good. Hey, wanna hang out later today with me and the others? You thought for a moment before replying. Sure! Just let me finish with breakfast and then I’ll get ready. Great! I”ll meet you halfway to your house. Where was it again? You texted her the address. Okay thanks! I’ll see you later! 😊 See ya!! You finished eating breakfast before getting ready to head out today. You walked back downstairs and headed to the door but not before letting your parents know. “Mom, Dad, I’m gonna hang out with Sunset Shimmer and the others today.” You said to the both of them. “Alright sweetie, do you want me to give you a lift?” Your mom asked. “It’s okay mom, we’re gonna meet each other halfway and then meet up with the others.” You said. She nods at the confirmation. “Okay, be safe Anon. Let us know when you’re coming home. Love you sweetheart!” She said. “Love you champ!” Your dad says. “Love you too guys!” You said as you walked out the door. Your mother gets a concerned expression on her face and your dad notices. “What’s wrong honey?” He asked her. She turns to look at him and sighed. “I’m just worried about our son. I know I should have faith in him but I can’t help but worry.” She says honestly. He puts a hand on her back and gently rubs it. “He’s gonna be okay, I know he is.” Your father said which only helped your mom slightly. “Do you think he still remembers..........the incident?” She asked him. He looks off to the side before looking back at her. “Hopefully not, he seems really happy. I don’t want him to go through anymore pain than he already has.” He said before giving her a hug. You’re walking along the sidewalk just trying to get to the rendezvous point for you and Sunset. After walking for a few minutes, you see her in the distance and smiled and made your way towards her. As you were walking however, you stop when you suddenly get that same feeling you had from yesterday. This time though the gut feeling felt like it was almost begging for you to not do this. Why did this feeling keep popping up out of nowhere? You shook off the feeling and continued walking. You eventually made it to her and she gave you a hug. “Hi Anon.” She cooed softly. You hugged her back. “Hi Sunset.” You also cooed softly. The both of you separate and smile at each other. “So what are we doing today?” You asked. “We’re going down to the sweet shoppe to meet up with the others and then after that we're gonna go do a few other things. They’re already at the sweet shoppe, they’re just waiting on us. Let’s get going.” She said before taking your hand and leading you towards town. You blush at the fact that she’s holding your hand but you try to hide the blush as best as possible before she sees it. After about ten minutes of walking, you make it to the sweet shoppe. You enter as you see the others sitting at one the tables. They notice you both and wave as you walk over to them. “Nice of you to join us Anon darling.” Rarity said smiling all while the girls voiced their agreement. “It’s nice to see you girls too.” You said in response. “So Anon, what’ve you been up to lately?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Nothing much. Yesterday me and Sunset hung out together at her place and talked.” You said which made the girls look over to her and smirked. She blushed from all of the stares and looked away. “And get this guys. She’s apparently from another dimension where she’s a sentient pony.” You said which garnered a collective set of giggles from the girls. You were confused by this. “What’s so funny?” You asked. “Anon, we already know that.” Applejack said while giggling. “You knew?” You asked. “We’ve known for a quite a while Nonny! It’s no secret to us!” Pinkie said. “In fact, the whole school knows.” Fluttershy said in her usual whisper tone of voice. “That’s the definite truth.” Twilight said while adjusting her glasses. “Well, I guess that saves me the trouble of having to explain to you all.” You said jokingly which got a laugh out of everyone as you laughed along with them. After you stopped laughing, you decided to start up another conversation. “So are there any future plans that you guys have going on?” You asked. “Well we are planning to do a fundraiser for Camp Everfree next month, wanna help out?” Sunset asked. “Sure thing, if it’s to help a camp get back into shape then I’m in.” You said enthusiastically. The girls cheered to this. “Any and all help is much appreciated Anon.” Applejack said with a smile. You the proceeded to spend the rest of the day with the girls as you did other activities like going to the arcade, seeing a movie, and a few other things. Several hours later The sun was almost beginning to set as you and Sunset said goodbye to the girls before walking away. As you and Sunset walked together she decided to say something. “Hey, I wanna show you something. Do you mind coming with me?” She asked. This peeked your curiosity. “Okay.” You said while nodding. She takes your hand and leads you somewhere else. A few minutes pass before you make it to this hill that overlooks the city of Canterlot as it was basking in the rays of the sunset. You were amazed by this and you couldn’t help but marvel at it. “Wow, I’ve never seen something so beautiful.” You said as you watched in awe. “This is where I like to go whenever I want to clear my head and relax.” Sunset says before taking a seat on the grass. She looks at you and pats the spot next to her. “Come on. Sit.” She said. You obliged her by sitting down next to her and admiring the beauty that nature was displaying right now. "It really is a sight to behold." You said to which she nodded in agreement. You sat there just admiring this spectacle that was put in front of you for what seemed like hours before Sunset decided to ask you a question. "Hey, can I ask you something?" She asked. This got your attention. "What's up?" You asked her back. "What was your life like before coming here to Canterlot? I know from what you've told us that it wasn't a happy life, but if your comfortable with sharing it I'd like to hear it." She said hoping to know more about your past. You soon became conflicted. Your life was not something that was easy for you to talk about so when she asked you weren't sure what to do at first. You eventually came to a conclusion that since Sunset was open to sharing her painful past with you that it's only fair that you tell her about your past as well. You looked back at her as she stared at you hoping to get a response from you. "Well.....alright. This isn't easy to talk about, but for you I'll make an exception." You said which gave Sunset a bit of a hopeful smile. You then got comfy and explained everything. Every place you could remember going to, every angry or mean person that you met, and every bit of any and all painful memories that you could think of you shared with her. She nodded a few times to confirm that she was listening. There was even a few times where you broke down in tears because of how painful a certain memory was. Sunset would hug you at the times of when you cried as well as rubbed your back. This continued on until you made it to the last thing that you could remember. "There was one point in my life when I just couldn't see a way out or anything else that could make me happy. Eventually it got so bad that I...…...I." You hesitated on the last part. Sunset grew concerned for you. "That you what?" She asked. You looked at her for a moment before closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. You then looked back at her. "That I at one point...…..attempted suicide." You confessed. Sunset gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. Tears soon flowed into her eyes but still tried to be polite by letting you finish. "I tried to hang myself in my room, but the rope wasn't strong enough. It snapped and I hit my head on a nearby dresser. My parents came home from work and saw my condition and immediately rushed me to the hospital. I woke up to see my mom crying on my dads shoulder while he was crying too. They saw that I was awake and rushed over and hugged me. They begged me to never do something like that ever again. I promised them that I wouldn't and after that I stayed at the hospital for a few days before finally going home. And that, as far as I can remember, is my life story. So Sunse-woah!" You were cut off by Sunset tackling you into a hug while crying on your shoulder. You hugged her back as you tried your best to calm her down. After a while, she finally calms herself and breaks the hug. She looks at you before throwing on a determined face. "Anon, I want you to promise me something." She demands. "Anything." You said before she grips the collar of your shirt with both hands and brings your face closer to hers while displaying an angry face. "You had better promise me that if you ever, EVER, get anymore thoughts of suicide into your head that you will talk to somebody about it!! Whether it be your parents, a therapist, our friends, or me you better promise me Anon Y Mous that you will talk to someone! AND, you will never attempt suicide ever again! GOT IT?!!!" She yelled into your face. You were kind of scared by the intensity of her voice but you still managed to speak anyway. "I-I will! I promise!" You said. She narrows her eyes at you. "Pinkie Promise?!" She yelled. Your eyes widened, you remembered her talking about Pinkies special type of promise and that it was to be taken VERY seriously. You nodded profusely before speaking. "Y-Yes! Yes! I Pinkie Promise!!" You vowed before doing the gesture. Her face softens and she lets you go. She hugs you again and speaks up once more. "You have just as much a reason to be here as anyone else Anon. Please, don't ever throw your life away like that, okay?" She asked. "Okay." You reassured her. The both of you stayed that way until the both of you noticed that it was already dark so the both of you headed back the midpoint. You both make it and stand on the sidewalk as you both said your goodbyes. "Good night Sunset." You say to her. "Good night Anon." She says back. The both of you take your leave and head back to your homes. You texted your mom that you were on your way back which was met with an okay and a smiley emoji. You slowly walk back to your home with a new found motivation. You made a promise to yourself that you would always find time for Sunset and that you would upheld your other promise to her. As you made your way back home that gut feeling came back again. This was now getting annoying, why did this keep happening? It only seemed to happen around Sunset but none of the others. Why? This was definitely something that was hard for you to figure out. > Chapter 8: Remembrance of the Past > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two weeks later We find you hanging out with Sunset Shimmer at the sweet shoppe on a Saturday afternoon after another fantastic week at CHS. It was another hangout with only you and her today since the others were busy. You had pretty much been accepted by your friends and the students of Canterlot High and you couldn’t be any happier. You still did have that same nightmare once in a while but thanks to your parents and your friends they pretty much became nullified to you. However, there was still something else that bugged you. That gut feeling that was telling you that you need to stay away from Sunset wouldn’t go away. No matter what you tried it always managed to stick around like mosquitoes at a camp ground if you forgot to bring bug spray. You really tried to figure out why this kept happening, but no matter what you just couldn’t grasp it. “Hey.” You were brought out of your thoughts by Sunset calling out to you. You look over to her as she sat on the other end of the table with a concerned look. “Are you okay?” She asked. You smiled and nodded. “Yeah, I’m good. Just thinking.” You responded before scooping some ice cream from your sundae and eating it. “About what?” She asked. “It’s not important. Anyways, are we still up for Pinkies bake sale next week?” You asked. She at first was curious on why you avoided the question but she let it slide anyways. “Yep, in fact, Pinkie has already started baking some treats for it.” She said. “I kept telling her that we had plenty of time to prepare but she insisted on starting early.” She says with a playful eye roll. “Well why not? It’s better to plan ahead and to prepare early then to do it last minute.” You pointed out. “I guess you have a point.” She said with a chuckle. You look back at her as she digs into her own sundae and decided to say something rather important to her. "Hey Sunset? I never got around to saying this last time and I'm sorry it took so long. But I just wanted to say thank you for that talk that we had when we watched that sunset two weeks ago. I honestly haven't felt that relieved to tell someone my past like that in my whole life. So thank you for listening." You said honestly. She blushes and looks away while smiling. "Oh, you're welcome. Sometimes it just really helps to talk about those sorts of things with your friends, family, or someone else you know." She said before looking back over to you. "It must have been really hard to talk about all of it though. I mean, you were crying a few times which resulted in me having to calm you down, not that it bothered me of course. You needed comfort and I was happy to provide it." She said with a closed eye smile. This always warmed your heart to see her do that. "Normally I wasn't comfortable with sharing my past before, but now that I've come to this town with these amazing people, I think it's safe to say that I can finally put my past behind me." You said with confidence. She nods at your enthusiasm. "I agree." She said. "Hey, I want to give you something." She says before reaching into her bag that she had brought along for this hangout which at first you were curious about what was in it but she told you that it was a surprise. She pulled something out and it was revealed to be a small box and placed it in front of you. You picked it up and inspected it. It was rather small, small enough to hold jewelry. You looked back at her to see her with a big smile on her face. "Go on, open it." She requested. You looked back down and opened the box. It was revealed to be...…. You were stunned by this. No one besides your parents ever went out of their way to give you a gift like this. The only difference being that when your parents gave you gifts, it's not that you were ungrateful or anything, it's just that you were dealing with so much depression at the time for you to properly smile at such a gift. Now, you were practically beaming with happiness. You look back at her and give a very grateful smile. "Sunset...……..I-I.....I don't know what to say. This is really beautiful! Where did you get the money for this?" You asked. "Oh, I may have done some overtime at my job as well as having some extra money that I wasn't spending. I saw that when I was walking home one day and thought that you and me could wear them. As you can see, I take one half and you take the other." She takes the heart half and puts it on as you put on the key half and admired it. You got up from your side of the table and went over to her and gave her a hug. She gladly reciprocated it. "Thank you Sunset! This was really thoughtful!" You said while still maintaining the hug. She giggles. "You're very welcome. I really wanted to show you how much you mean to me. Because...…..you're someone that I really need in my life." She said truthfully. You're eyes widened upon hearing this, but this was different. They didn't widen because of how sweet her words were, they widened because those words awoke something in you. Suddenly, out of nowhere a memory reawakens in the back corners of your mind as if it had finally found an opportunity to set itself free. Then you remembered what it was; all of it. It turns out, there WAS another time where you were happy, but it didn't last long though. Five years ago You were attending Fillydelphia middle school. You were going through your depression as you did through most of your life. It seemed as though you weren't getting a break from life hating you every step of the way. You were sitting at a lunchroom table all by yourself silently eating your lunch while students just passed by you or they would intentionally bump into your back making you fumble while eating your food. You just sighed since it was nothing new to you. While you were eating though someone did approach you but not with ill intent. "Excuse me? Do you mind if I sit here?" A female voice spoke up. You turned your head solemnly and looked up. It was a girl with cyan skin and emerald green short hair. She had pure green eyes and wore a black hoodie with a symbol of a rain cloud with blue jeans and black converse. She looks down upon you with a smile as she stood there waiting for you to give an answer. You nodded not giving her any verbal response. She sits down next to and decided to introduce herself. "I'm Drizzle Drop. What's your name?" She asked. You look over to her while contemplating with whether or not you wanted to say something. You decided to be polite and talked to her. "Anon." You said silently and simply. She smiles at this. "Anon? That's a nice name. Where are you from?" She asked. You looked away from her not wanting to answer that question. She sits there for a few seconds before reassuring you. "Hey if you don't wanna talk about it, that's okay." She says while trying to be as friendly as possible. You just sat there silently eating your lunch before you spoke up. "Why are you being so nice to me?" You asked in a down ridden tone of voice. She was confused by this question. "Why wouldn't I be?" She asked. "Because everyone else is a horrible jerk. So why are you the only nice person that I've met so far?" You asked while getting a little angry. She thinks for a moment before speaking. "Because you looked lonely. Because no one like you deserves to be lonely." She said honestly. You went wide eyed for a moment before your face softens. You felt bad for being mean to this girl who was just being nice. You looked back at her. "I'm sorry, it's just.....I've kind of had a rough life. Most of the people that I've met were pretty much soulless monsters. So when you're someone like me, it's hard to trust people nowadays." You confessed. She nods at your apology. "I understand. Most people are jerks, the only people that I've come to trust were my parents and some of my friends. Hey, if you want I can introduce you to them. Does that sound cool?" You stared at her for a moment before giving her a slight smile. The first real smile you ever had. "Yeah, that sounds nice. They will like me won't they?" You asked. "Of course they will! Heck, I like you already. So how about after school I'll introduce you to them?" You nodded to her question before the both of you resume eating. From that point on, you spent any spare time you could with your new friend. Drizzle Drop introduced you to her friends which included two guys and one girl: One boy named Stargazer who was a few inches taller than you with navy blue skin and hair and red eyes who wore a red scarf, the other boy being the same height as Stargazer with dark green skin and lighter blue hair and eyes named Thunder Volt, and the girl was taller than both boys who had red skin and short purple hair named Blaze Burst. Everything seemed to be going well with your new set of friends. Until something happened that would scar you for life. Three weeks later Everything that you've currently done with Sunset, you pretty much did the same things with Drizzle Drop. Those included hanging out with her friends, watching a sunset together, going to an arcade, watching a movie at a theatre, everything. They would always defend you from bullies or other students who were mean to you at school which you had always appreciated. It really did seem like a dream come true to have friends that actually cared. Your parents were very happy for you to have finally found friends after so long. One day you were walking home from school with Drizzle Drop as you were talking about the latest action movie that was coming out. "I definitely wanna go see it. How about you Anon?" Drizzle asked with excitement. You nodded before responding. "Yeah I do. The last one was so good, I can't wait for this one!" She nods in agreement before the both of you make it to her house. She turns to you before heading inside. "Hey Anon. I just wanna say that I'm really glad to have met you." She said which made you blush a little bit. "I'm glad to have met you too Drizzle. I honestly didn't think I would get any friends at any point in my life before coming here. I'm glad that you and the others came along and changed all of that." You said which made her grin widely before walking over and giving you a hug. "It's not a problem Anon. You really mean a lot to me and...……..You're someone that I really need in my life." She said which made your heart leap with joy. You two break the hug before she speaks up once more. "Hey, I almost forgot. Later today me and the others are gonna go hang out at Stargazers place. Wanna come?" She asked. You were about to say yes before you remembered that you had quite a lot of homework that you needed to get done. "Ugh, sorry Drizzle, but I've got a lot of homework to do. Maybe another time, okay?" You said hoping that she'll understand. She gets a disappointed look on her face before throwing on an understanding one. "Okay, I guess I'll be seeing you later then?" You nod to her question. "I'll see you later Drizzle!" You waved her goodbye as you walked back to your house. After about a ten minute walk, you made it back to your house. You went to your room and began working on your homework. After three hours of working, you were finally finished and could now rest and do whatever. You decided to watch some tv as you waited for your mom and dad to get home from work. Ten minutes passed before you heard a knock at the door. You got up and looked through the peephole and saw that it was a police officer. You answered the door for him. "How can I help you officer?" He had a solemn look on his face before answering. "Is this the Mous residence?" He asked. "It is." You answered truthfully. He took a deep breath before starting. "I'm afraid that there's no easy way to say this son, but here it is. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that your friends...……….are dead." He said. Your heart felt like someone had taken a giant sledgehammer and smashed it into a million pieces. You began to shake and your eyes filled with tears. Your voice cracked as you tried to talk to him. "W-Wha……..wha……...what h-h-happened-d?" You asked trying to hold back the torrent of tears. "From what we were able to gather, a group of robbers had broken into your friend Drizzle Drops home while her parents were at work. She had walked inside not knowing about the danger. She was shot by the robbers who had silenced pistols. About ten minutes later from what eyewitnesses had spoken of, her friends went by to see if she was okay but the robbers were still there. They had tried to fight them off as best as they could but it was not enough. An eyewitness called the police but we were too late. They were each shot and killed before the robbers managed to get away. We arrived on the scene and...……...oh god, the sight...…….Ms. Drops and your other friends parents arrived and we told them everything. It was one of the hardest things we ever had to do. We went through her contacts and saw that you were one of her friends so I came by to tell you. I'm sorry son." He finished. You stood there in the doorway with a devastated look. You honestly couldn't believe that your friends were gone. Not just Drizzle Drop, all of them: Stargazer, Thunder Volt, Blaze Burst, all of them were dead. The only friends you ever had in your life, friends who were actually there for you, who cared about you. Now they were gone...…………...all of them. You tried to calm down as best as you could before speaking to the officer. "T-Thank y-you f-f-for telling me." You said with a shaky voice. He tips his hat to you before walking back to his car. You closed the door and slumped against it before sliding down and you broke down and cried. You cried for at least an hour before getting back on your feet. This was it, this was the final straw for you. You couldn't take it anymore. Life was determined to make sure that you had a horrible existence even if it meant taking your friends away from you. If life wanted you gone, then so be it. You would at least give it the satisfaction of not being here anymore. You went to your basement and got some spare rope that your father had stashed away for an emergency if it was needed. You went to your room and tied the rope to the ceiling fan and getting a chair from the kitchen. You wrote a note down on the table explaining to your parents the situation and that you were sorry and you couldn't take it anymore. You stood on the chair and put the rope around your neck before having one final thought. 'I'm coming guys.' With that, you jumped off the chair ready to embrace your fate. However, the rope snapped and you slammed your head on the dresser knocking you out instantly. End of Flashback You stood there while still hugging Sunset Shimmer except now you had tears flowing down your cheeks. She felt the tears on her shoulder before separating and looking at you concerningly. "Anon, are you okay?" She asked but you didn't say anything. She tried reaching out for you but you backed away from her slowly before bolting out the door. "Anon! WAIT!" She screamed but you didn't listen as you kept running. She ran after you but when she made it outside you were nowhere to be seen. She looked around but couldn't see you anywhere. She got really worried for you. Just a moment ago you were really happy, but now for some reason you cried and ran off. She had to know what was going on so she thought of going to the one place you would probably go to; your house. > Chapter 9: Answers and Confessions > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset sprinted through town making her way towards your house in hopes of finding you and figuring out why you acted the way you did when you ran away. She makes her way to your house and bangs on your door. She waited for a moment before your mother answers the door. Thankfully, you introduced Sunset to your parents some time ago so she didn't have to go through with introductions. “Sunset? How can I help you?” Your mom asked. "Hi Mrs. Mous. I'm sorry if I sound rude or anything but I'm in a hurry right now. Is Anon home by any chance?" Sunset asked hoping that you were here. Unfortunately, your mother shook her head. “I’m sorry but he’s not here. Wasn’t he supposed to be with you today?” She started sounding worried. Sunset proceeded to tell her what happened which your mom gasped at. “Oh no, I was afraid of this happening.” Your mom said which confused Sunset. “What are you talking about?” She questioned. Your mom looked back at her before walking up to her and putting her hands on Sunsets shoulders. “Look Sunset honey, from what you’ve described, Anon is not in a stable condition right now! We need to find him before he does something drastic!” Your mom said frantically. Sunset wanted to know what was going on but understood the severity of the situation. “You need to go get your friends and anyone else you know to go out and look for him! I’m gonna go get my husband and we’ll both go search together! Got it?!” Sunset nodded to her demand before sprinting out the door while calling her friends to meet her in front of the school. Sunset waited in front of the school for a few minutes before the rest of the Rainbooms came running up to her. “We got the text Sunset! What’s going on?” Twilight asked. “It’s Anon, he’s missing!” Sunset said which made the girls gasp. “Nonnys missing?! What happened?!” Pinkie questioned her. Sunset told them what happened which made them very worried for your wellbeing. “We’ve gotta find him! He should be somewhere here or in the city!” Rainbow Dash said before Sunset proposed a plan. “Here’s what we’ll do: Half of us are gonna check here in the neighborhood and the other half will check the city! If one of us finds him, then she needs to text the others where they are, got it?!” The others agreed to the plan before splitting up into teams and going to their separate locations in the hopes of finding you. Sunset, Twilight, Rainbow, and Pinkie searched the neighborhood by asking people walking around if they’ve seen you or by knocking on peoples doors and asking them. Meanwhile, Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy searched the city by checking places like the theatre, mall, and the arcade. Your mom and dad were also helping by driving around in their car and searched both the neighborhood and the city. A Few Hours Later The sun was beginning to set as the girls had met back in front of the school along with your parents. “Have you guys had any luck in finding him?” Sunset asked hopefully. This only resulted in disappointed looks from everyone. “We looked everywhere Sunset, but we couldn’t find him.” Applejack said while your mom broke down in tears. Your dad did his best to comfort her but it was all for naught as she kept crying. “I can’t bear the thought of Nonny being all alone. The fact that I can’t be there for him to make him smile just......kills me.” Pinkie says sadly before her usually poofy hair deflated like a balloon while Fluttershy gently rubbed her back. “There’s gotta be somewhere that we haven’t looked yet! Anyone got any ideas?!” Rainbow asked. The others began thinking of any possible places that they haven’t looked. They at first couldn’t think of anything because they had pretty much looked everywhere. They thought for a few more minutes before Sunset finally realized something. There was one final place that you could have gone to, but it was something that only you and her knew about. “I think I might know where he is!” Sunset said which got the others attention and your mom stopped crying. “Well what are you waiting for Sunset? Take us to him!” Your dad begged but Sunset shook her head. “I think it’s best if I go alone you guys, if all of us are there it might overwhelm him especially concerning the condition that he’s in right now.” Most of them had mixed feelings about this before your mom spoke. “She’s right. I think we should let her do this herself, besides if anyone here is capable of finding him and getting through to him, it’s her.” She says before walking up to Sunset and gave her a surprise hug. “Do what you have to do Sunset. Just......bring our son back.” Sunset nodded to your moms plea before ending the hug and bolting off towards her destination. Even if there was a chance that you weren’t there, she had to be sure. The Rainbooms turned to your parents with concerned looks. “Mrs. Mous, are you sure that this is a good idea?” Rarity asked. Your mom nodded to her question before looking forward and silently praying that you were alright. Sunset ran for about ten minutes before arriving at the hill that you and her went to two weeks ago. She slows down to try and regain her breath before resuming walking up the hill. She looks and sees a silhouette in the distance silently sitting by themselves. She slowly walked up to them and they’re revealed to be you. You sat there with bloodshot eyes and puffy cheeks, clear signs of crying, while staring at the sunset that shined beautifully. It took every ounce of Sunsets willpower to not run up and tackle you into a hug, but she knew that you were not in the mood for that kind of thing so she decided to take it slow. She slowly walked up to your form and silently called out to you. “Anon?” Your eyes turned over to her but they immediately closed upon seeing her and you turned your head away from her. “G-Go away Sunset.” You whispered silently. She wouldn’t listen to you though. “Anon, please tell me what’s wrong.” She pleaded with you. “J-Just leave me alone. I can’t be near you anymore.” “What do you mean?” She asked. You looked back at her for a few seconds before bursting out into tears again while you hugged your legs. She walks over to you and crouched down to your level before reaching out to tilt your head up to look at her. “Please Anon, I need to know what’s going on. Why are you acting like this? Was it something I did? Was the necklace too much for you? What is it? Please tell me.” She begged. You stared at her for a moment before finally saying something. “I’m scared.” “Of what?” She asked. You paused before continuing. . . . . . . “Of losing you.” You said in a more prominent tone. This confused Sunset greatly. You were scared of losing her? She wasn’t going anywhere so why the sudden fear? She needed to get to the bottom of it. “Why would you be afraid of losing me?” She asked. “Because of what happened to Drizzle Drop.....and my other friends.” You confessed. “Who’s Drizzle Drop?” She inquired. You stared at her pondering if you should tell her. Seeing as how it wouldn’t do any good to run away again you buckled down and told her. “It started five years ago....” You began telling her everything. Drizzle Drop, your other friends, the happy memories you made with them, even.......their deaths. All of it came pouring out of you like a waterfall. Sunset just sat there listening to everything while giving a few nods here and there. You also told her how them dying is what lead you to attempting suicide. How the rope had snapped and you hit your head hard on the dresser and how that blow had apparently made you repress your memory about them. All of it made so much sense to you now. Why you kept getting that gut feeling, why it was telling you to stay away from Sunset, why you kept having those nightmares. That memory was trying to find its way back into your mind. Also, you were afraid that what happened to your old friends is what will happen to Sunset and the other girls. "Anon." Sunset spoke after you were finished telling your story. "I get it. You're afraid that you're going to lose me, but I'm not going to die." She tried to reassure you but this wasn't getting through to you. "You don't know that Sunset! You might be alive today, but for all we know you could end up dead the very next day! That's how life always is, for me at least." You turned away from her before continuing. "Life always finds a way to take away the things that you care about the most. Whether it be something as simple as a toy that you had since childhood or maybe your favorite pizza place closes down permanently." You turned back to her with tears in your eyes. "Or maybe something that is extremely personal to you like the only friends that you ever had in your entire existence! Life gives, but it also takes away, and I'm afraid that that's what's going to happen to you and the rest of the girls. One day, I don't know when, you and the others will be gone and I'll be all alone again!" You finished before crying into your hands. Sunset stood there devastated by how much this affected you. She thought for a moment trying to figure out the right words to say until she finally came up with some that may not completely resolve the situation, but they might help it a little bit. "Anon, I might not completely understand what your going through, but please hear me when I say this. You can't go through life thinking like that. You can't just always be in fear that the things that you care about the most will just be taken away at any given moment. If you can't live for yourself, then live for them! Do you think they would want you to live the rest of your life always being sad that any friends you make will be taken from you? No, they wouldn't! They would have wanted you to live on and be the happiest that you can be. You now have a bunch of new friends that care about you so much, myself included." She lectured you which she hoped was making you understand. You looked back at her and decided to ask her something. "Why do you care so much Sunset? I'm nothing but a sad and pathetic human being whos always had to deal with horrible people in my life. So pathetic that I went as far as attempting suicide. So why?! Why do you even care?! WHY DID YOU GO THROUGH ALL OF THIS TROUBLE FOR ME?!" "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, YOU NUMBSKULL!!!!!" She exclaimed before pulling you into a kiss. She wraps her arms around your neck as you stood there wide eyed for a moment before closing your eyes and returning the kiss. This was something that was obviously very new to you. You have never kissed a girl at any point in your life, so this was definitely a surprise to you. You held the kiss for about five to ten minutes before breaking it as she stares at you with watery eyes. "You...……….love me?" You asked ignoring the fact that it was a stupid and obvious question. She nods. "I do. When I first met and got to talking with you, you were so sweet and kind that I couldn't help but feel something for you. When you and I hung out at my place that one day, I felt like I could trust you enough to tell you about my past and how bad I was as a person and how after I was done, you said that you didn't care about who I was and only cared about who I am now. You have no idea how much I needed to hear that from someone like you. And when we saw the sunset two weeks ago and when you told me about your painful past and how much it did to you, that's when I finally realized that I fell for you. That I needed to be there for you so that you can finally put your past behind you and can finally be happy. I love you Anon Y Mous. I love you so much that I can't even begin to describe it!" She finally finished confessing. You were stunned by all of this. All this time she felt the same way for you and you didn't even notice. You started feeling bad that you had missed the signs until you looked back at her. "I...….I love you too Sunset. At first I didn't even know what love was until I started feeling it for you when I first met you. You're just so sweet and compassionate, not to mention beautiful." She blushed at the comment. "When you first told me about how you used to be a bully, I honestly couldn't believe it at first because of how amazing you are. How you had managed to change your ways and tried to make things right with everyone at CHS. If that's not dedication, then I don't know what is." You then held both of her hands in your own. "I've never had the opportunity to share my love for a girl in my life. Drizzle Drop could have been a chance, but I honestly never felt that way for her and I don't think she felt the same way either, but with you it's different. So now I must ask. Sunset Shimmer, will you please give me the chance to share my love with you?" You asked. This resulted in her bursting out in tears and gave you a bear hug. "Yes! Yes! YES! Of course I will Anon!" She shouted happily while the both of you stood there holding each other for what seemed like hours but was only ten minutes. The both of you finally broke the hug before making your way back to town. You looked at her and you reached out and held her hand. She looks back at you and smiles before resting her head on your shoulder as you walked in silence. The Rainbooms and your parents were patiently waiting back at your place to see if Sunset had successfully found you. They waited with baited breath before the front opened revealing it to be you and Sunset. "ANON!!!!" The girls screamed before running over and giving you a group hug. "We were so worried about you! We looked for you for hours but we couldn't find you!" Rainbow said while having a single tear in her eye. "Darling, you don't know how much you scared us!" Rarity cried. "Yeah Nonny! I was so afraid of not being able to make you smile anymore!" Pinkie exclaimed. "We were starting to think we would never see you again!" Fluttershy said while crying into your chest. "Don't you ever do something like that ever again, ya hear me sugarcube!?" Applejack pleaded. "We can't stand the thought of losing you Anon!" Twilight shouted. "I know. I'm sorry for making you guys worry. Sunset managed to find me and talk some sense into me." You said while smiling over at Sunset who smiled back. The group hug was separated as you looked over to your parents who politely waited for the girls to stop hugging you. You walked over to them and they pulled you into a hug. "I'm so sorry mom and dad. I'm so sorry for making you worry." You apologized which made them both smile. "It's alright sweetheart. We're just glad that you're home safe and sound." Your mom said which your dad nodded to. "We just want you to know that me and your mother love you very much. It would have really hurt us if something bad happened to you." He added. After that you, your parents, your new girlfriend, and your friends decided to hang out at your place for the next couple of hours watching movies, playing board games, the typical stuff that you would do at a hangout. After it was all said and done, the girls said their goodbyes while they each gave you a hug as they left with Pinkies being so tight that you had to straighten your back out afterwards. Finally, it was time for Sunset to leave as you both stood in the doorway. "I'll see you later Sunset." "I'll see you later Anon." She says before pulling you into a gentle kiss which you gladly reciprocated. It lasted for a minute before you separated. She gently booped you on the nose with a finger before starting to walk away before you called out to her. "Wait, Sunset!" She turns around and looks at you. "If your not busy next Friday, maybe you and I can go out and get some coffee or something?" You asked to which she smiled to. "Sure. Then maybe afterwards we can watch a movie and then watch the sunset together." She added. You nodded to this request. "So it's a date?" You asked. She nodded. "It's a date." She confirmed before blowing you a kiss and walking away. You closed the door and turned around to see your parents widely grinning at you. "What?" You asked jokingly. "So son, it looks like you and Sunset are finally together. Is that true?" Your dad asked playfully. You blushed and looked away from them. "Y-Yeah dad. Me and her are a couple now." You said which made him beam with happiness. "My son finally got himself a girlfriend! Can you believe it honey?" He asked your mom. "Oh, I can definitely believe it dear. Especially with how much of a gentleman he's become as of late." She said with a sly grin. Later that evening you were about ready for bed before your parents came in to check on you. "Anon, how are you feeling?" Your mom asked. You smiled at her question. "I'm feeling good mom. Better than I've been in a long time." You answered. They both smiled and you got into bed. Your mom came up and kissed you on the forehead. "Good night sweetie." "Good night mom." Your dad walked up and gently patted your shoulder "Good night buddy." "Good night dad." They started walking away before you called to them. "Wait, mom, dad?" They stopped and looked at you. "Did you know about what happened to my old friends and how my memory of them was repressed?" They looked at each other before looking back at you. "We did, and we're sorry for not telling you Anon. We wanted to see if you would be able to move on and be happy again. Please don't be mad at us." Your mom said. You thought for a moment before looking back at them and smiling. "It's okay. You were just trying to protect me. While I will admit that I kind of wish that you had told me sooner, but I'm not angry or anything I just wanted to know for sure." You said which they gave a sigh of relief at. "Good night you guys. I love you." You said while getting into a comfortable position. "We love you too sweetie." Your mom said before they slowly walked out and turned off the lights and closed the door. You laid in bed for a few minutes before staring up at the ceiling and closing your eyes before having one final thought. 'Drizzle Drop, Stargazer, Thunder Volt, Blaze burst. Wherever you are, if your watching over me, I just want to say thank you for being some of the best friends that a guy could ask for. I promise that I will live on for you guys even in my darkest moments. And I'm glad to say that I've made some new friends and I finally found someone that can pull me out of any dark hole that I fall into, and her name is Sunset Shimmer.' > Chapter 10: Epilogue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five months later We see a young couple driving towards the city of Fillydelphia. They were revealed to be you and Sunset Shimmer. You and her had been a loving couple for the past five months now and you couldn't be any happier. You both were rather lucky with earning enough money from your new job to buy a car for you so you could make this trip possible. See, after you and her became a couple, she was able to get you a job at the mall at the music store with Vinyl Scratch. The good thing was that it was rather close to where she works at which was a sushi restaurant. So after you both were done at your jobs for the day, you would always meet up with each other and go out on dates. This continued on until you both had scraped together enough money to buy this car and drive all the way to Fillydelphia. Why were you driving to Fillydelphia you may ask? To pay your respects to some old friends of yours. "Looks like we're almost there. Are you ready to see them?" Sunset asked. You looked over to her and nodded. "I am. It's about time that I see them again after so long." You answered as you kept on driving. After a long trip, you both made it to the city. While driving around you couldn't help but look around at the city that you used to live in. You began to remember some of the old places that you used to go to with Drizzle Drop and the others. You smiled fondly at the memories before finally reaching your destination; the Fillydelphia graveyard. You and Sunset stepped out of the car and walked towards the many gravestones that were planted in the ground. Sunset had brought along four bouquets of flowers so that you could give them to your friends. You both kept searching before you finally found a set of four tombstones, each with the names of your friends on them. Sunset read each plaque before turning her attention to you and handing you the bouquets. You carefully placed each one in front of all four of them before backing away and staring at them. "Hey guys." You said aloud. You didn't know if they could hear you or not but you spoke anyway. "I'm finally back after so long. I'm sorry that I kept you waiting, but life kept getting in the way of everything." You said before putting your hand on Sunsets back. "I'd like to introduce you to my girlfriend and the one who helped me make this visit possible, Sunset Shimmer." She waves at them before you continued. "I don't really have much to say other than I miss you guys. I really wish that I could see you all one last time. I guess in a way I am, but you know what I mean. I've been doing my best to try and get through life and knowing that you will always watch over me from wherever you are makes it better. Thanks to Sunset here I don't have to do it alone." You put an arm around Sunsets waist as she cuddles into you. You took a deep breath before continuing. "I'll never forget you guys. I'll always love each and every one of you. Drizzle Drop, thank you for giving me the chance to have friends for the first time in my life. Stargazer, thank you for always having a calm personality that always managed to bring peace to all of us. Thunder Volt, thank you for always being the witty one that always made us laugh. Finally, Blaze Burst, thank you for being tough and always defending us no matter what." You stood there for a few seconds before Sunset asked you a question. "Can I say something?" You looked back at her and smiled. "Sure." You said before giving her the chance to speak. "Hi everyone. As Anon had told you, I'm his girlfriend and I just wanted to say something. I promise you all that I will always be there for Anon if he needs me. I promise to always love and cherish him in the darkest of times. Finally, I promise to always make sure that he will never be as sad as he was on the day that he lost you guys. You meant the world to him and he means the world to me, so I will always look after him from this day forth. I also hope that you are doing good wherever you are and that you may all rest in peace." She does a slight bow before backing away. You smiled at her while feeling lucky to have someone like her in your life. The both of you stood there staring at each of the graves for about twenty minutes before you finally spoke. "Well, it was really nice seeing you all again. I hope that you are all doing good as well as your families. It must have been terrible for them to learn about...well you know. Hopefully, they were able to move on. I'll always love you guys, and we'll see you all later." With that said, you and Sunset slowly walked out of the graveyard and back to your car. You both got in and sat there for a little bit before Sunset looked over to you. "Are you okay?" She asked. You sat there in your own thoughts before responding. "Yeah, I am. I'm glad that we were finally able to do this." You said to which she nodded in agreement. "Thank you for coming with me Sunset." "It's not a problem Anon. I was glad to help you get the closure that you needed." She said before you looked at her and put your hand on top of hers. "I don't deserve you." You said with a smile. "Yes, you do. You more than deserve me, you earned me." She said while smiling. A tear goes down your cheek as you stare at her beautiful face. "I love you Sunset." "I love you too Anon." You both leaned in for a sweet kiss which lasted for a minute before separating and starting the car and driving away. Your life had been nothing but pain and turmoil, but now thanks to this kind and beautiful girl riding next to you it was safe to say that she was the love that can heal your pain. The End
