> Out Burst > by Rictor Yagami > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Lashing Out > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- () Thoughts Chapter One Lashing Out Rainbow Dash was exhausted from the events of today while she was performing or at least trying to because of her parents being here thanks to Scootaloo. It was embarrassing the way that they would cheer for her along with shooting off fireworks during the show she and the Wonder Bolts were performing. Then there was when she was trying to sign autographs for the fans in which they were cheering her on loudly for it and after that there was the ribbon cutting ceremony for what was most likely a new store. It got even worst when Scootaloo’s friends got involved with her parents to form a tower just because she and the other Bolts were taking pictures with the foals, not to mention that her little sister figure kept taking pictures every single moment. (At least things can’t get any worst.) Rainbow Dash would be proven wrong as she tossed her towel to hang on her locker. “You hung that towel!” BANG! The rainbow haired Pegasus hit her head to look over at her parents who had Scootaloo with them with her mother, Windy Whistles, cheering her once again. “Greatest towel hanger of all time!” This came from her father, Bow Hothoof, who also became excited over something that the female Wonder Bolt didn’t think was a big deal. That was when the two started to cheer loudly once again in the locker room. “Towel! Towel! Towel! Towel! Towel!” Rainbow Dash could see the way the other Wonder Bolts looked at her as they left while her parents continued to cheer her on! The young Pegasus was feeling tired, annoyed, exhausted, upset, and above all else angry. When her youngest fan snapped another picture of her she finally had enough of it all and just snapped! “STOP!” The two older Pegasus and the young filly became shocked at the outburst when Rainbow Dash decided to put her hoof down. “This is ridiculous! Mom and Dad you are both too supportive!” The parents of Rainbow Dash wound up sitting on one of the benches in the locker room not expecting this as their daughter continued to vent her frustrations. “This is exactly why I didn’t tell you I was a Wonder Bolt! You’re just…too much!” Windy and Bow were shocked at the way their daughter was yelling at them, in which caused Rainbow’s mother to pose a question. “D-Did we do something wrong?” “Yes! The fireworks, the cheer leading, and, and who do you even compare who is better or worst at hanging up a towel?!” The two step forward with her father holding out a hoof. “We’re… We’re just trying to be supportive.” Twilight’s friend angrily slapped away his hoof before speaking on how she truly felt about it. “Well I’m tired of it! I’ve had enough of you two being so proud of every little ridiculous insignificant thing I do!” Scootaloo who was watching the whole thing became shocked at what was happening and didn’t understand why her hero was acting like this. After Rainbow stopped to catch her breath she spoke her final peace to her parents. “I think you should leave.” The two felt very hurt by their daughter’s words and honestly didn’t expect for her to act like this. They were only trying to support their only child but now it seemed she didn’t want them in her life any longer so the two decided to say some final words but didn’t hold any malice toward her with Windy speaking first with tears forming in her eyes. “First of all, great job yelling at us, sweetie. No one [sniffs] can make their parents feel more worthless than you! Her husband went next as he spoke with his eyes filled with tears as well. “Your words were direct, clear, and…so painful! Is there nothing you can’t do?!” Both parents left the locker room in tears as Scootaloo looked on in sadness and disbelief of her big sister figure and could only ask one thing. “Why?” Hearing this Rainbow Dash looked at her with a look of anger and disbelief before replying. “What do you mean why?! Scootaloo you CAN’T be this blind or ignorant at what they were doing!” This caused the young filly to take a step back as her idol never spoke like this to her before or been this angry. Sure she remembered that time she and her friends had spread gossip on her and her other friends when they were working for the Foal Free Press, but this new level of anger scared her and she tried to find out why she was upset. “I…I don’t understand.” “They were embarrassing me in front of every pony during the show and over things that were NOT important! How can you not understand that or even see how every pony else acted toward them?!” “But they only wanted to support you!” “Well they didn’t and you weren’t helping me at all by bringing them up here in the first place! I can’t believe you would embarrass me like this after all the things we’ve been through!” Scootaloo felt as if she had been slapped and Rainbow’s next words would hurt even more. “You had no business bringing them up here in the first place, when all you could have done was just stay with them at home to talk to them about me! But no you just had to do something stupid without telling me that you would bring them here or just had them talk with Twilight and the others which would have been enough!” “I wasn’t trying to embarrass you!” “Well you did, it was bad enough I made myself look bad during that time the other Wonder Bolts  kept calling me Rainbow Crash instead of my actual name, but for you to just bring them to where I work was an even stupider thing than I did!” Scootaloo felt as if her heart shattered from her idols words and couldn’t hold back the tears any longer but then Rainbow said one last thing that was like she told her parents. “I think you shouldn’t talk to me for a while Scootaloo.” The little Pegasus could only silently cry before wiping her tears away angrily before speaking in a hurt filled voice. “I meet your parents hoping to learn more about you, but I don’t like what I found out.” The young filly took the scrap book she had and tossed at Rainbow’s hooves before leaving the same way the two older Pegasus’s did. “I’ll find some pony else to do my hero report on!” Rainbow looked at the leaving filly before looking at the scrap book that was lying face down as it was open. She considered picking it up to look inside before shaking her head, turning to leave to go back home. “She’ll get over it soon.” Unknown to both Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo there was someone else that heard them, along with what happen with Rainbow’s parents. Stepping out from the corner of the entrance that Scootaloo left from was Spitfire. The captain of the Wonderbolts had come to the locker room to check on Rainbow Dash and apologize since she and the others weren’t helping making their teammate comfortable, along with wanting to have a talk with Scootaloo about bringing Dash’s parents over and to make sure to give her teammate the head’s up next time. That was when she heard Twilight’s friend yelling at her parents about their behavior and wanting them to leave. Then when her little sister figure had asked why she soon heard the anger in her teammates voice berating the young filly for her unintentional harm at what she did. Spitfire even heard how the other three Pegasus left in tears and could only shake her head since after hearing this she felt bad for how she and the other bolts teased Rainbow about this before but also knew Rainbow was making a mistake. (I’m going to have to talk with Princess Twilight and her friends to help me out on this one because if I don’t do anything Rainbow is going to make a mistake like I did before and regret it later on.) With that thought in mind she left to make her way toward Twilight’s castle. > Seeking Guidance > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thoughts () Chapter Two Seeking Guidance Twilight Sparkle was currently going over a check list of her newest addition of books for her to read and some comics she ordered for Spike. Starlight Glimmer even got herself a couple of copies for new spells to study with Twilight. “I’m glad that I was able to get the newest issue to Mega-Dragon and find out what happens next when he faces off against Steel Beak!” Spike said excitedly as the little dragon had found the series a couple weeks ago, getting hooked and bought a lot of issues. “Just make sure not to spend so much next time Spike, you almost spent every bit you had.” Twilight spoke to her young friend. “Aren’t you being a bit hypocritical Twilight? You spent just as much as he did if not a little more.” Starlight said to her friend and mentor. The Princess of Friendship could only rub the back of her head sheepishly as even she did spend more than she should on books. “So has anything new been going on lately?” Spike asked the two mares in front of him. “Well as you know Fluttershy has built an animal sanctuary for the animals that she and Dr. Fauna take care of, and then Starlight made a new friend.” Twilight told her friend and assistant. “Really who did she make friends with?” “She made friends with Pinkie Pies sister Maud.” The young dragon was shocked when he heard this, and the expression on his face said it all. “Yeah I know it surprised me too when I heard it from Starlight.” Twilight said to him. “It was a little awkward at first but we did become friends, though Pinkie did get a little overboard.” Starlight spoke up before she decided to ask Spike something. “Where were you when all this was happening?” “I was in Canterlot visiting Twilight’s parents, catching up on how we spent time together and that me and Twilight should visit when we can. I was also going to visit Rarity at her boutique but she wasn’t there and found out she went to spend time with her sister.” “I’ll make sure to see if we can spend some time with mom and dad since I don’t get to see them as much.” Twilight said to her friend as she did miss them because of her duties as the Princess of Friendship. “And let’s make sure they baby sit Flurry Heart next time since I’m sure you don’t want to go through what happen last time.” Spike added. “Oh come on, I doubt it was that bad for you two.” Starlight spoke up as she wasn’t around when Twilight and Spike were looking after Shining Armor and Princess Cadence’s only daughter. “You weren’t there when it happen Starlight and honestly it was a lot of work looking after her, along with trying to take care of what I had to do.” Twilight told her student. Before anything else could be said Twilight’s cutie mark started to glow alerting everyone present that was in front of her. Seeing her cutie mark signaling her Twilight could only jump for joy and squeal in excitement. “This is fantastic! I’m once again being called on to help a friendship problem! Oh my gosh! I wonder who will be going with me this time and where is it going to be?!” Before Starlight or Spike could say anything there was a knock at the door causing Twilight to react. “I’ll get it!” Twilight immediately teleported to the front door leaving her two friends shocked for a seconded before shaking their heads and making the two of them head to the door. The Princess of Friendship had just arrived at the door to her castle, opening the door to great whoever it was and it was Apple Jack and Fluttershy, but was surprised to see a third pony with them and she made it known. “Spitfire?” Apple Jack and Fluttershy could see the surprised look on their friends face but decided to get to the heart of the matter and explain why Spitfire was with them. “Howdy Twilight, as you can probably see our cutie marks acted up and we came as quick as we could, but along the way we ran into Spitfire.” Apple Jack spoke up. “I was in the market getting some vegetables for Angel but then my cutie mark went off and I saw Spitfire coming my way.” Fluttershy spoke up to her friend. Twilight gestured for the three to come inside and when they did Spike and Starlight showed up and they were surprised to see who was here as well. “Apple Jack and Fluttershy, what is Spitfire doing with you?” Spike asked his friends. “That’s what we’re here to find out, since she said she needed to talk to Twilight and even said she should talk with us since it has something to do with Rainbow Dash.” Apple Jack said to the young dragon. Hearing this Twilight was wondering if this is why she and her friends were being summoned by the map and decided to lead everyone to the room that held it. “Let’s discuss this in the throne room and see if this is why the map is summoning us.” “What map?” Spitfire asked wondering what she was talking about. “You’ll see in a minute when we get there.” Starlight spoke up and began making her way to the throne room with the others following her. The five pony’s and little dragon soon reached the throne room to see the map glowing with the Cutie Marks of Twilight, Apple Jack and Fluttershy floating over the table and everyone, save Spitfire, was shocked to see where the map was showing the location. “The problem is here in Ponyville?” Fluttershy said in surprise. “Can somepony please explain what is going on and what the big deal is about this map?” Spitfire asked a little impatient. “That’s right you don’t know about this so I will explain it to you.” Twilight said to the captain of the Wonder Bolts. She then began to tell Spitfire about how the map reacted to when trouble aroused when there were friendships that needed help and they traveled to wherever the location was on the map, sending whoever it felt was best selected for the task at hoof. “Well that is pretty nifty, and since you guys are Rainbow Dash’s friends this will make things easier for us. At least I hope so.” Spitfire said after Twilight finished explain to her. “You said that you needed to talk to Twilight so what happen with Rainbow Dash? Did she get into a fight with the other Wonder Bolts?” Fluttershy asked. “No it wasn’t with anyone on the team, but instead it was with her parents and her little sister figure Scootaloo.” Spitfire told the shy pony. Once again Twilight and her friends were surprised as they never thought that Rainbow and Scootaloo would ever have a friendship problem with each other as the two sisters in all but blood. “What exactly happen with them?” Spike decided to ask since he had been quiet for a while. “Well it’s going to take a while so I suggest everypony sit back and listen as it will take a while.” Spitfire told the group before her. She then began to tell Twilight and her friends about how Scootaloo brought Rainbow Dash’s parents to the Wonderbolt Academy without giving Rainbow the heads up or even telling her about it since they wanted to avoid any civilians getting hurt like the time Lightning Dust was reckless. She then told them about how they were disrupting practice with a megaphone to get Rainbow’s attention with Scootaloo taking pictures, and then Spitfire told them about their behavior during the show, the autograph signing, the ribbon cutting ceremony, and the pictures they took with their fans. Spitfire then told Twilight and her friends about Rainbow Dash’s outburst toward her parents and even yelling at her younger sister figure, and the harsh words she said to her, leaving her in tears along with Rainbow’s own parents. Twilight and her friends stood in absolute shock as they couldn’t believe what they just heard from the captain of the Wonderbolts as none of them ever thought that Rainbow Dash would ever be that like that toward Scootaloo. Apple Jack was the first to break the silence. “You can’t be serious about that? I know Rainbow can come off strong an all but she wouldn’t be that harsh on Scootaloo.” “I know it is hard to believe but I heard everything when I was going to have a talk with Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash’s parents about their behavior. Though it didn’t help with me and the other Wonderbolts since we said things that most likely made it worst.” Spitfire admitted ashamed since she should have done something earlier to keep things from going too far. “I think that Twilight and I should go and talk to Rainbow Dash about this.” Fluttershy spoke up since she believed that if anyone could get through to her it was herself and the Princess of Friendship. “Actually Fluttershy I should go with you while Twilight speaks to Rainbow’s parents while Apple Jack talks with Scootaloo.” Spitfire said to the yellow Pegasus. “Why do you want to go with Fluttershy?” Apple Jack asked as to her it would make sense for Twilight to go since she was the most logic choice when it came to negotiating matters. “Because I went through something like Rainbow Dash did before when I was starting out in the Wonderbolts as well and it was with my father. I’ll tell you all when this is over but let’s just say it wasn’t one of my proudest moments.” Spitfire said to Apple Jack. Everyone could see that she had a sad look in her eyes and decided not to pry any further until the issue was resolved. “Well since Spitfire wants to go with Fluttershy, I’ll speak with Rainbow Dash’s parents while Apple Jack speaks with Scootaloo.” Twilight spoke up getting the attention of everyone. The farmer thought over her friend’s suggestion before nodding. “Sure thing Twilight I’m sure she is with my sister and Sweetie Belle at their club house.” “Then it’s settled. Let’s find them and see if we can fix this problem.” Twilight said to the group before her. Everyone around here nodded and went off to perform the task at hand. As for Spike and Starlight Glimmer the two were left alone with the young dragon deciding to ask a question. “So what should we do while there gone Starlight?” “I guess we can read the new books we got or play a few rounds or poker.” She suggested to her friend. “Eh what the hay, it’s not like we got anything better to do.” The young dragon said and both of them went off to get some snacks to enjoy with the game they would play. > An Apple's Advice > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thoughts () Chapter Three An Apple's Advice In a secluded part of Sweet Apple Acres there was a tree house that was the meeting place and hang out to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Currently the three were inside as Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were trying to cheer up their friend Scootaloo as she came back from the Wonder Bolts academy upset and depressed. When Bloom and Sweetie asked her what was wrong she had told the two she didn't want to talk about it, which was a few hours ago. “Aw come on Scootaloo, we agreed to go to Sugar Cube Corner after you came back from the Wonder Bolts academy.” Apple Bloom said to her friend as she had tried to cheer her up by offering her some pie that her grandmother had made for everyone a while ago but it didn't seem to do the trick. “I really don't feel like it right now, so can you guys just please leave me alone?” The young Pegasus asked her friend in a sad tone, with a little anger to it. “But Scootaloo you haven't said anything when you came back. I thought you were going to show us your scrap book early with what you got for your hero report on Rainbow Dash.” Sweetie Belle said as she didn't like seeing her friend this way. “I don't want to do a report on her anymore, now can you two just drop it already?!” Scootaloo spoke her voice raising in anger before she realized what she did and saw the shock look on her friends faces. Her friends didn't know what had caused her to be this upset but the two decided that they would leave her alone for now though they were hurt that their friend wouldn't open up to them so with they left the tree house. Scootaloo could only berate herself as she didn't mean to snap at her friends like that but she couldn't bring herself to tell them what happen at the academy. She also needed to find someone to do a hero report on but didn't know who. With Apple Jack... The bearer to the Element of Honesty was making her way toward the Crusaders tree house as she had asked Granny Smith if Apple Bloom and her friends were around. The elder pony told her granddaughter where the three of them were at and headed toward the tree house. It was then that Apple Jack saw her sister and Rarity's sister coming toward her with looks of disappointment and a little bit of sadness to them. She decided to call out to the two of them to find out what was going on. “Hey Apple Bloom, what's wrong with you and Sweetie Belle?” The two little foals looked up to Apple Jack and it was Apple Bloom who spoke first. “We were just trying to cheer up Scootaloo and wondered what was wrong with her but she kept avoiding our questions and then snapped at us.” “So we decided that we would go to Sugar Cube Corner without her till she decides to talk with us. I don't know what happen with her and Rainbow but I hope she will take with us soon.” Sweetie Belle said after Apple Bloom finished. Apple Jack could only frown when she heard this as she didn't like how Scootaloo acted toward her little sister and Rarity's little sister. While she could understand why she was upset it was no excuse to snap at her friends but she also needed to know the reason why Rainbow Dash was upset with her. “Listen you two, you all head over to Sugar Cube Corner and let me have a talking with her as I got Rainbow's side of the story and now I want to hear her''s.” “Good luck with that as she's being stubborn as a mule.” Sweetie Belle said as she and her friend left to where they wanted to go leaving Apple Jack making her way toward where Scootaloo was. When she got there she saw the young pegasus walking down from the tree house and stopped when she saw Apple Bloom's older sister. “Um...Hi Apple Jack what are you doing here?” Scootaloo asked her. “I was looking for you actually because we need to have a serious talk Scootaloo.” The farm pony said to her. “About what exactly?” “I want to hear your side of the story about what happened at the Wonder Bolts academy since I heard Rainbow Dash and Spitfire's side of the story already.” Scootaloo frowned when hearing this looked away before replying, “ I honestly don't want to talk about it so could every pony just leave me alone?” (And every pony say's I'm stubborn and don't listen.) Apple Jack silently said to herself before she spoke once more in a voice she usually used for scolding her little sister. “Look here missy, I don't care for that tone and I certainly ain't dropping it. I just don told you already I got their side of the story and now I want to hear it from you. So we can discuss this like big pony's or I can get your aunts involved so we can straightening this out.” Scootaloo could only flinch as she didn't want her aunt's to get involved. She remembered the few times that they had scolded her when she and her friends had tried to get their Cutie Marks like with the Gabby Gums fiasco, making a potion that they thought was a love potion only for it to be a love poison and when they went into the Everfree Forest to rescue chickens. They had been told about the things going on with her by Rainbow Dash and the rest of her friends which got her grounded a few times and didn't want to be punished by them again or to tell her parents about the thing she did. So it was with regret she sighed before speaking. “Okay Apple Jack I'll tell you what happen at the academy.” With that Scootaloo began with how she meet Rainbow Dash's parents, with her telling them about her being a Wonder Bolt and deciding to go to the Wonder Bolts Academy to do her hero report on Rainbow Dash. She told Apple Jack about the pictures she took and on how Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles cheered her on while showing their appreciating to her. It soon ended with the harsh words Rainbow Dash said to not only her but to her own parents as well. “After that I got so mad at her I decided to do my hero report on some pony else instead of her. I don't get why she yelled at me.” Apple Jack could only sigh as she heard everything that was just told to her. While she understood that Scootaloo didn't mean to cause trouble or any harm she had to understand that it wasn't right with what Rainbow's parents did at the academy. “Scootaloo I will say this and please don't interrupt me until I finish. Now I know you didn't mean to cause trouble for Rainbow Dash or even embarrass her in front of every pony, but to be honest what her parents did was wrong and they were going overboard with their support for her.” “What do you mean they were going overboard?” Scootaloo didn't quit understand what Apple Bloom's older sister meant. “When they started shooting off fireworks they could have accidentally hit Rainbow Dash or even one of the other Wonder Bolts. That was just reckless and dangerous when all they had to do was just cheer her on and didn't need to go that far.” Hearing this shocked Scootaloo as she didn't realize that Rainbow and the others could have gotten hurt from one of the fireworks and started to think that maybe that was a little overboard of them. Apple Jack seeing the look on her face nodded and continued. “Then I heard about the autograph signings and what Rainbow's dad did, which was really silly and uncalled for. I know I did some silly things but I wouldn't go that far to cheer on one of my friends or family.” Scootaloo could only nod before a thought came to mind. (Now that I think about it, some of the other pony's who came to see the show were giving her parents weird looks.) Apple Jack could see that the little filly was starting to understand but continued on with what she heard from Spitfire. “Then there was the ribbon cutting ceremony that Rainbow was performing for a new store that her folks got a bit too loud and she ended up cutting Spitfire's tail. She was lucky only that happen to her otherwise Rainbow might have ended up cutting off one of her wings.” This caused the young pegasus to pale as she just realized that her big sister figure could have accidentally ended the captain of the Wonder Bolts career, all because Rainbow's parents were causing her to lose focus. Apple Jack saw that Scootaloo was starting to get the picture and decided to end it with what she had to say next. “I can see now that you understand why Rainbow Dash got upset with you and her folks Scootaloo, but I also know you didn't mean any harm by it as you just wanted to show your support as well and even write the best hero report about one of my friends.” “I didn't mean for it to get out hoof and I'm sure Rainbow Dash's parents didn't mean it either.” Scootaloo said before sighing and then said, “Though honestly I wish I had the support like Rainbow Dash did.” This confused Apple Jack and she decided to ask the young foal what she meant. “Don't your parents ever do that for you though?” Scootaloo looked away before sighing sadly and told Apple Jack. “My parents are hardly ever around as all they do is work. Even the few times we did spend together it isn't much and we don't have a lot to talk about because they feel like strangers to me as I don't know what to talk to them about and they don't think highly of the Wonder Bolts.” Apple Jack couldn't help but feel bad for her sister's friend as she had heard from Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle that their friend's parents weren't around as much but she had her aunts there for her. At first Apple Jack didn't think much of it but after hearing it from Scootaloo, she was thinking of having a talk with Scootaloo's aunt's, maybe even ask Granny Smith for advice. With that thought in mind she decided to say her peace. “Come one Scootaloo, we can talk with Granny to get some advice and figure out what to say to Rainbow Dash to talk things over with her.” “What if she doesn't want to talk to me?” Scootaloo asked. “Oh she'll talk with ya. She may be stubborn but Fluttershy can get her to open up and listen to reason so don't worry. Now let's go get something to eat as I'm sure your hungry and please make sure to say sorry to my sis and Sweetie Belle when you get the chance.” Scootaloo nodded and started following Apple Bloom's older sister hoping whatever advice she and Granny Smith gave her would help her out as she wanted to at least try to clear things up with Rainbow Dash.
