In the wake of the misadventures involving Sci-Twilight's new focusing gem, Sunset writes to Twilight on the craziness of it all.

Where Do I Start?

Hey, Twilight,
How are you doing? Things have been pretty crazy over here. Hope you're sitting down, cause this may take awhile.

To start, your human counterpart decided to create herself a focusing gem to better allow her to control her magic. On the surface, it seemed like a good idea, but I was concerned that it might end up like with that pendant she had made when we first met her.

Turns out I was justified.

While she was practicing with it, she ended up accidentally opening a portal to Equestria and allowed a chimera to come in. Before she could send it back, it took her gem and ran off! Twi, Pinkie Pie, and I had to track it down to get the gem back and prevent it from causing any trouble. When we found it, it was fast asleep, but Pinkie ended up waking it by accident with her new slide whistle. Fortunately, despite being nearly torn to ribbons, we managed to send it back to Equestria, and I think your counterpart is going to be a bit more careful with her gem from now on.

While this was happening with us, Rarity was trying to join the Seamstress Club using her latest design, which she claimed was her greatest work yet. However, from what I heard, the head of the club, Suri Polomare, ended up stealing the design from her and started selling it as her own! Well, Rarity attempted to steal it back, dragging Applejack along for the ride, only for the two of them to get arrested, forcing me, Twi, and Pinkie to bail them out. Rarity is still seething over that incident, especially since her application for the Seamstress Club was denied because of Suri. I do wish that there was a way to help her. Pinkie has even tried treating her to ice cream all week thanks to a bet she won against Trixie. Do you have any ideas?

Finally, here's something you're definitely not going to believe, Twilight.

Earlier that same day, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were having an argument (yes, you heard me right, Fluttershy was arguing, but that's not the unbelievable part I mentioned) over Fluttershy accidentally losing Rainbow Dash's Wondercolt watch. Well, the two looked like they were about ready to come to blows when we last saw them just before all the craziness with the chimera happened. We were sort of expecting to find that they had decided to settle things in the gym's boxing ring. Much to our surprise, however, shortly after we had bailed Rarity and Applejack out of jail, we came across Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy coming out of a quickie chapel...wearing wedding rings!

Well, that came as quite a shock to us, but it got even worse when it turned out that they had bought their wedding gowns from Suri...who had made them from a certain design she had recently obtained.

Needless to say, Rarity's still not speaking to them.

Anyway, we later found out that the two of them had been hit by a love spell that your counterpart had accidentally fired into the air when demonstrating her focusing gem. The funny thing is though, even though Twi said it would last only a day, it's been weeks, and Dash and Fluttershy are still lovey dovey. They've even moved in together and are talking about using their magic to start a family!

That, unfortunately, isn't the real problem. Disregarding the fact that I'm not sure how to undo the spell, I'm starting to wonder if I really should. I mean, I've never seen those two so happy before. I don't know if I have it in me to destroy that happiness.

Well, uh, anymore, I mean.

Anyway, as you can see, we all had quite a day. The funniest thing is, though, that it seemed like it was all happening backwards. Any theories?

Well, I suppose that's all I have to say. Please reply back as soon as you can. Rarity is just itching to figure out how to get revenge.

Your faithful student,
Sunset Shimmer

Dear Sunset Shimmer,
Wow, you girls certainly went through a lot. It might take me a while to reply to all that.

First off, I'm glad that my counterpart is starting to learn more responsibility with her magic. Actually, creating a focusing gem for herself wasn't a bad idea. She just needs to learn how to better use it. I've known from past experiences that you have to be careful with magic as it sometimes won't work out like you want it to. And if she's as powerful as I was when I was a unicorn, she's going to have some problems.

Perhaps it might be best if some time, I come over and help her to train in the use of her focusing gem. Talk to her and see if she's alright with that, okay?

Also, I'm glad that you managed to stop that chimera before it could cause any trouble. From the sounds of it, you were dealing with a male chimera. Male chimeras are more animalistic than female chimeras. You can tell them apart because the males have tiger heads and females have lioness heads.

As for Rarity, I'm really sorry for her. The Rarity over here went through a similar incident with the Suri Polomare here.

Rarity had brought us with her to Manehatten while she went to Fashion Week, with plans to have us see "Hinny of the Hills" (which is, btw, the best musical ever shown in Equestria!). Anyway, Rarity had come up with a special kind of fabric for the outfits that she would showcase in Fashion Week. It was during then that she encountered Suri, who took advantage of Rarity's generosity when she loaned her a roll of her special fabric and used it to copy Rarity's entire line!

Rarity was pretty upset about it, but came up with the idea to improvise using the materials around our hotel room. Unfortunately, the bad news was that she ended up running the rest of us ragged to get the new outfits finished, even forcing us to miss "Hinny of the Hills". In the end, however, Rarity felt guilty about treating us badly and made it up to us by getting us a special private viewing of the show. What's more, Rarity actually won Fashion Week. Even moreso, she managed to help Suri's overworked assistant, Coco Pommel, see that she didn't need be uncaring to make it in Manehatten.

That was actually what allowed Rarity to get her key that would help us get my castle.

This actually leads to my advice. If Suri's counterpart is anything like her, there's a good chance that Coco's counterpart works for her. Tell Rarity to try befriending Coco, and she might be able to help expose what Suri did.

Now regarding what has happened with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, that's quite a bombshell you dropped. It reminds me of something that happened here a while back with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They were trying to help their teacher Cherilee find a special somepony for Hearts and Hooves Day and decided to pair her up with Big Mac. Unfortunately, they went about it by using a love potion on them, which unfortunately worked a little too well and caused their relationship to become too sweet even by Pinkie Pie standards. From what I heard, however, they didn't actually reach the actual marriage part before the potion wore off. In fact, I believe they ended up falling into a hole just before they snapped out of it. As for why Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are still under the influence, however, is beyond me. You may want to have my counterpart look over the spell she had cast.

As for your moral dilemma about actually erasing their relationship, I understand that you feel the two are happy this way, but you need to realize something like this is completely unethical. Just like the CMC's way of putting together Big Mac and Cherilee wasn't proper, so is leaving two people under the effects of a spell that is making them feel something they aren't. I know you look at them and think they look so happy and cute together, but you must remember that that happiness isn't real. True love doesn't come from artificially being brought together by outside forces. It comes from genuine feelings. I know that you'll probably feel devastated the moment that Rainbow and Fluttershy's lovey dovey act ends (even moreso if they go back to that argument they were having when the spell hit them), but you need to remember in the long run that you did the right thing.

Before I go, I have to say this 'time backwards' thing that you mentioned is very intriguing. Maybe I'll look into it the next time I come around. Until then, I'll see you later.

Yours Truly,
Princess Twilight Sparkle

Dear Twilight,
Thanks for the advice. I'll tell Rarity about that and see if Twi is up for you giving her lessons.

As for things with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, you're right. It wouldn't be right to leave them this way. I know that it'll be tough to see them filing for divorce and Rainbow Dash moving out, but it is the ethical thing to do. I'll have Twi look into that in the morning.

Oh, and about what the CMC did over in Equestria? Don't worry about their counterparts doing that. I heard that while they are helping Big Mac get together with somebody, they aren't using magic. It also isn't Cherilee. I believe it was someone named Sugar Belle.

Anyway, thanks again for the advice. I'll let you know how it goes.

Your Faithful Student,
Sunset Shimmer

Twilight, wait till you hear this!
First off, I talked with your counterpart, and Twi would be glad to have you train her on how to use her gem.

Also, thanks for your advice. It certainly helped. I told Rarity what you suggested and she went along with it. You were also right. Suri does have an assistant named Coco.

Or rather, she had.

You see, Rarity managed to find Coco when she was doing an errand to get Suri more fabric. After a lengthy discussion with Rarity, Coco decided to quit working for Suri...and work at Rarity's boutique instead!

What's more, Coco managed to obtain enough evidence that proved that Suri stole not only Rarity's dress design, but that most of her line had been ripped off from other fashion designers. From what I hear, Suri's reputation is toast and she's facing a court day. Also, since she has been removed as the head, the Seamstress Club needs a replacement, and I hear that a certain friend of ours might be in line for it.

What I really want to talk about, however, is Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.

After much research, Twi finally found a spell that would completely reverse the effects of the spell that was on them, so they would return to normal. It felt like we were playing break uppers, but it needed to be done, so I sent Twi to find Rainbow and Fluttershy and use the reversal spell, but I didn't go with her. I didn't want to see a relationship end, even if it was fake.

It was after she left that I learned something surprising. Dog Spike broke down and told me a secret he had been hiding: it turns out that a few weeks ago when Twi made her focusing gem, the resulting blast of magic mixed up her notes, and Dog Spike scrambled to put them back in the folders. Upon learning about this, I looked over the notes from the folder that Twi used that day. I then realized that they weren't love spells: they were truth spells! And I realized that since it was a truth spell that hit Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy that day...

...then their relationship was 100% genuine!

In that moment, a great sense of relief past over me: Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash really did feel that way about each other, meaning that Twi had actually done all that research for nothing.

Of course, that's when I also realized that Twi's reversal spell would cause their romance to become bitter hatred. Fortunately, I managed to stop her just before she could cast it.

In any case, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are doing well now. The rest of us pooled together a fund to give them an actual honeymoon. They've been gone three days by now. I still kept hearing about them using magical means to start a family, so I can't help but wonder if one of them will be coming back with a bun in the oven.

As for the rest of us, things are doing pretty good. Rarity is happy to have gotten her justice and likes her new assistant. Pinkie Pie is still enjoying the fruits of her bet with Trixie. And I mean literal fruits. Her last sundae had pineapples, bananas, apples, kiwis, oranges, and strawberries. Twi is still a bit upset that her notes got mixed up, but we're getting her out of the fetal position.

As for Applejack, she's just glad that she won't have to deal with Rarity's moaning anymore.

Well, I need to get going for now. Pinkie Pie wants to treat us all to fruit sundaes. Let me know when you can come teach Twi, okay?

Your Faithful Student,
Sunset Shimmer

Dear Sunset,
I'm glad that everything has worked out for you guys. I'm happy that Rarity has gotten her justice over Suri. As for giving my counterpart lessons, tell her I think I can come in the next two weeks. I'm really interesting in researching that 'reverse time' phenomenon.

As for Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, I'm greatly relieved that their relationship was the real thing. To be honest, I was beginning to wonder if the advice I gave you was the right thing to do. Glad to hear that we didn't need to worry about the ethical ramifications involved.

Also, would you mind giving me the spell my counterpart had used to bring those two together? I can think of a certain pair of pegasi I think it would greatly help.
