Pinkamena Diane Starburst is the unicorn Pupil of Celestia
Pinkamena is the pupil of Celestia and she is about to visit Ponyville for the first time. Little does she realise how this will affect the rest of her life. Inspired by Rainbow Unicorns https://www.fimfiction.net/story/198657/rainbow-unicorns.
She said “I hope there is something here to teach. Pinkamena is just too good, she has mastered almost every spell I taught her and even come up with a few of her own.”
Celestia thought (Maybe she has spent too much time in the castle, she should make some friends. She has only interacted with Castle staff.) She grabbed a few books, then she went to meet with her pupil. She found Pinkamena bouncing up and down outside her door.
Celestia said “Pinkamena, Energetic as usual I see.”
Pinkamena said “PLEASECALLMEPINKIEIAMSOEXCITEDWHATAREWELEARNINGTODAY?” Celestia blinked for a few seconds. She still struggled to come to terms with the pink unicorn’s energy, despite the years they’ve spent together.
The sound of clanking armour behind Pinkie caused her to turn around. Pinkie’s big puffy mane flattens out and she glares at the 2 stallions.
A large Earth Stallion stepped forward and said “Me and Prince Blueblood wish to speak to you.”
Celestia said “Sorry, Pinkie It seems our lesson will have to wait. Shining Armour and my nephew have something important to discuss with me.”
Pinkie said “That’s okay, I need some time alone anyway.” Pinkie slowly walked to her room. She slowly opened the door and laid down on her fluffy pink bed. She fell asleep quickly.
She wakes to a knock outside her door. She opens the door, a voice shouts “Throw her in the dungeon.” As hoof slams into her jaw. She wakes in the dungeon. She tries to cast a spell only for it to fizzle out.
Shining Armour step up to the cage, he said “It’s no use that magic inhibitor on your horn prevents you from casting spells.”
He stepped into the cage, holding a sword. She swung her hoof only to be pushed into the wall.
Prince Blueblood said “None of that. You are here until we let you out.”
She struggled in the magic. Shining stepped forward and shoved his sword into her left, back leg.
She heard a familiar voice shout “Pinkie, PINKIE.”
She woke to see Spike looking concerned at her. Spike asked “Are you alright?”
Pinkie replied looking down “It was just a Nightmare, Spike.”
Spike frowned “The same one, right?” Pinkie nodded sincerely.
Spike said “Those 2 practically got off without a mark.”
Pinkie said “No, they didn’t the next morning, I broke every bone in their body.”
Spike said “That’s not what I meant. I mean you are a loose cannon when angry but it takes a lot to make you angry. You were too forgiving, a few broken bones are not the same as a long term punishment.”
Pinkie scowled “I will not ruin someone's life for petty vengeance.”
Celestia shouted in her Royal Canterlot Voice “NO FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME!”
Shining and Prince Blueblood said “She shouldn't be here. Her behavior is too erratic for the castle and she lacks Discipline.”
Celestia stood up and shouted “She is very disciplined in her studies. I am running out of things to teach. On top that she has studies martial arts since she was little filly, her martial arts skill beat you multiple times even with you armour on.
Shining Armour gritted his teeth “Don’t remind me.”
Prince Blueblood said “She is way too erratic and shows little respect.”
Celestia responded angrily “She respects me, in fact she is the only one who can be honest with me about my own shortcomings. I am not flawless regardless of what many think. She doesn’t show you too respect and I honesty am not surprised. What you two did was horrible or don’t you remember.”
Shining and Prince Blueblood went silent. Shining said after a few minutes “We don’t want her in this castle, she is too dangerous.”
Celestia shouted in her Royal Canterlot Voice so loudly that the castle shook. “AFTER WHAT YOU’VE DONE YOUR LUCKY I SHOWN MERCY, I WAS GOING TO BANISH YOU TO THE MOON, BLUEBLOOD, AND SHINING, I WAS GOING TO GIVE YOU A DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE. PINKIE TOLD ME TO STAY MY HOOF, OTHERWISE BOTH YOUR LIVES WOULD BE RUINED.”
Prince Blueblood said “But.....”
Celestia roared out in her Royal Canterlot Voice even louder “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Celestia took several deep breaths. She said calmly “I don‘t why you keep trying. After putting my prize pupil in a cell and torturing her for 3 weeks while I was away sorting out a diplomatic matter with the Griffins. I really don’t trust you with anything.”
Celestia stepped out of the room. Shining and Blueblood stood there stunned. Celestia came up with a brilliant idea. She ran to Pinkie’s room.
Celestia said “I have a big event for you to help me with. The Summer Sun Celebration is coming up and I would like you to make sure it goes smoothly, it also would allow you to make some friends.”
Pinkie’s pink mane returned to it’s usual bouncy state and jumped up and down “REALLYREALLYREALLYREALLYOHSWEETCELESTIAIHAVETOPREPARE.”
She bounced all over the place grabbing a whole bunch of stuff and stuffed into a suitcase.She then grabbed another suitcase and filled it with more stuff. In the next 10 minutes, 10 suitcases had been packed for the trip. Pinkie then grabbed another suitcase and put all 10 suitcases in it.
She smiled bouncing “READYCELESTIA.”
Celestia said “You will leave tomorrow morning. Get some sleep. You have a lot to do.”
Spike meanwhile was still packing his stuff. Pinkie fell asleep to the frantic sound of her Number 1 apprentice panicking as he packed.
Pinkie bounced up and down in the carriage, she got super excited every time she saw a mountain or valley. There 2 Stallions pulling the carriage grimaced, her bouncing made the journey take longer.
Spike pleaded “Please stop bouncing, I’m worried the carriage will break.”
Pinkie said smiling “Sorry, Spike, I’m just so excited and I love the scenery up here. Sometimes I wish I could fly.”
The two stallions said “We have arrived.”
Spike and Pinkie saw the small town get closer. She smiled seeing all the ponies running around below here like ants. Pinkie bounced up and down as she disembarked. She smiled as she looked around. A rainbow maned unicorn barged past her panicking, chasing a rogue cloud.
The Unicorn kept running not taking note of the Pinkie.
Pinkie looked down and her poofy mane flattened.
Spike said “It’s alright, that unicorn is probably just busy doing whatever she was doing.”
Pinkie said “Yeah, I guess. I just hope I can make some friends.”
Spike said “You are so friendly all the time, you love everyone. You just have spent so much time in the castle, not many ponies your age go there.”
Pinkie smiled and her mane poofed up slightly.
Spike said “Anyway, it would seem in order to do our job and meet with Mayor. There ought to be plenty of ponies there.”
Pinkie jumped, her mane poofy again. She grabbed him and dashed off. Spike thought (Why does this always happen?) The Mayor’s office was huge especially compared to the small wooden structures nearby. Pinkie bounced up and knocked on the door excitedly several times.
A stallion asked “Who is it?”
Pinkie said “I’m Pinkie Starburst.... Nice to meet you” as she stuck her head through the keyhole. The stallion collapsed to the ground in shock.
Mayor Mare stepped down to greet her guest only to see the strange scene. She shook her head as she opened. Pinkie pulled her head out of the keyhole.
Mayor Mare said “My dear Pinkie as energetic as ever.”
Pinkie said bouncing up and down “Yep I am.”
Mayor Mare led them through hallways covered with paintings of famous ponies. They ventured into her office. A large Manticore musket hung behind Mayor Mare’s chair. Several odd books and trophies were scattered around the room.
Mayor Mare gave them a list and said “Well, you sure go and meet these 5 ponies.”
Pinkie said “Great, I can make some friends.”
Spike said “This is not a social call you know.”
Pinkie smiled “I know but I should really make some friends. Anyway, Spike we should get our stuff in order. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.”
Pinkie grabbed Spike and said “We need to go to the library we are staying at, Bye Mayor Mare.”
Pinkie bolted out the door, dragging her poor assistant with her. They arrived to see a huge tree with windows. A sign written next to it said “Golden Oaks Library.”
Pinkie said “This seems to be the place.”
Spike asked “It’s a tree, why is there a library in a tree?”
Pinkie smiled “Because it’s...”
Spike interjected “No, don’t you...”
Pinkie smiled as finished “The root of all knowledge.”
Spike shouted “Come on, that’s not fair.”
Pinkie laughed “Thou art the one who opened thyself up for it, therefore, thou get it.”
Spike said “Urggh fine, let’s just unpack.”
Pinkie pulled out ten suitcases out of her suitcase. She then went to pull out several thousand book. She then pulled out a bookshelf out of her suitcase and put all the books on it. Spike didn’t even blink. He got use to Pinkie’s weird and strange behavior.
Pinkie pulled out a book titled the Elements of Harmony.
Pinkie said “This book wasn’t in my bag when I packed it. Celestia must have put it in there.This may have something to with Nightmare Moon, a old tale I found in Celestia’s study where she banished Nightmare Moon using the Elements of Harmony.”
Spike asked “How did you get into her study?”
Pinkie said “I simply removed her wards, they while powerful were done well but not perfectly. I learned how to use wards by learning how to break them first. She leaves small gaps which if you use the right spell deactivates the ward without notifying the caster and then it is quite simple to hide it by recasting the ward using her magic her magical aura that she leaves behind to disguise my spell.”
Spike asked “Right, so what do you think will happen?”
Pinkie scowled at the book “Something bad, after all we would need to go deep into the Everfree Forest which is home to many monsters. I say we just hope it doesn’t happen.”
Spike said “You didn't tell me what it is that you fear will happen.”
Pinkie replied “It’s better if you don’t know yet, you won’t be able to focus on the task at hand if I tell you. It’s actually gotten quite late. We should get some sleep, or else we won’t get up for the tasks tomorrow morning.”
Spike said “Fine but if it goes wrong, I expect a serious explanation of everything.”
Pinkie was bouncing up down as they walked through Ponyville.
Spike said “Pinkie, we are headed to Sweet Apple Acres. We are checking on the food for the Summer Sun Celebration.”
Pinkie smiled and continued bouncing completely unaware of her assistant.
A loud shout came from somewhere “Catch that thief.”
A skinny pink unicorn stallion slammed into her. She looked up and her pink flattened as she slammed a hoof into his jaw. Spike jumped at her sudden aggression towards the unicorn. Several guards arrived to see Pinkie standing over the pink unicorn stallion who was bloody and beaten.
The unicorn said “Please don’t hit me again.”
Pinkie roared “I thought I told you, Slip, never to come near me again.”
The guards approached “We will take it from here, they nodded to her. Please forgive us we should have caught him before he ran into you.”
Spike asked recovering from shock “Who was that?”
Pinkie stared at the ground for several minutes.
She then said quietly “He is my brother.”
Spike’s eyes widened and he asked confused “Why don’t you talk about your family.”
Pinkie said “I suppose it’s time to tell you what happened to my family.”
Pinkie sat down to tell the story.
Pinkie started telling the tale “It was 12 years ago, I was bouncing up and down in the castle. I was reading 3 books, when several guards ran in shouting about how the city of Canterlot was on fire. I was taken to my room by Celestia. I stayed there for hours just watching as many brave guards and fireponies battled the blaze outside. When I was allowed out, I ran out of the Castle. I was desperate to find my parents. However when I arrived, I saw only a burnt house. They carried out two ponies on stretchers. They were my parents. 2 weeks later found out both my parents were murdered and my house was the source of the blaze. The next day they told me they located the pony who started the flame and murdered my parents. They wanted me to see if I knew the pony. I did, it was my brother and to rub the salt into the wound, he also was found with a knife that perfectly matched the wound on my parents bodies. Spike, he killed them with a knife and the worst part he smiled at me, there was no sign of guilt or regret.”
Spike stood there dumbfounded for several minutes.
Pinkie said “Come on Spike, we have to get going.”
Spike got up and stayed quiet for the rest of the trip to Sweet Apple Acres. They arrived at Sweet Apple Acres about an hour later than they meant to.
Pinkie said “Spike, don’t say talk about hanging upside down or their teeth or that their wings are strange.”
Spike asked “Why?”
A large stallion with bat wings stepped forward. Spike jumped and hid behind her.
Pinkie shouted “Spike, that is rude we are guests on the farm.”
The large red stallion looked at her, he thought (Hmm, compared to most unicorns I’ve met, she is well built.) Pinkie said “Excuse me, we are here to check on the catering for the Summer Sun Festival.”
The large stallion said “Forgive me, Ah’m Big Mac.”
Pinkie introduced herself “Pinkamena Diane Starburst but I prefer Pinkie.”
Big Mac said “Well ya should talk to mah sister, she is in charge of the catering. She is in the orchard.”
Pinkie grabbed her cowering assistant and bolted further into the farm. They see an orange bat pony bucking trees.
Pinkie shouted “Are you Applejack?”
She ran over “Ah am, who are ya and what brings ya here to our farm?”
Pinkie replied “I am Pinkamena Diane Starburst but please call me Pinkie. I am here to check on your preparations for the Summer Sun celebration.”
Applejack said “It’s going well. Would ya like to try some of our food?”
Pinkie smiled “Sure, Spike come on.”
Spike gulped “Okay.”
They arrive at their home, it was more like a barn than a standard home.It was red and had a feeling of warmth emanating of it. They entered to see a very simplistic looking kitchen and dining room.
Spike asked nervously “I don’t much about bat ponies but they usually aren’t farmers?”
Pinkie shouted “Spike, you shouldn’t ask such things.”
Applejack said “That’s alright, ah prefer that to the acts against us because of what we are.”
Pinkie said “I know, bat ponies have been mistreated for 1000 years because of Nightmare Moon.”
Applejack’s eyes widened “Ya know about that?!”
Pinkie said “Yes, I do. I figured it out 6 years ago.”
Applejack prepared the food and they sat quietly and ate. A young filly walked into the dining room.
Applejack said “Applebloom, we have guests.”
Applebloom smiled as she sat down. “Who are you?” she asked.
Pinkie said “I am Celestia’s pupil and she wanted me to make sure all the events for running the Summer Sun Celebration are in order. Speaking of which we need to really get going or else we won’t have enough time.”
Applejack shakes Pinkie’s hooves “Your always welcome on our farm.”
Pinkie said “Thanks, we will be sure to visit.”
They had just returned to town looking for the weather mare. A purple mare holding a book on parties bumped into them.
Pinkie said “Hi I’m...”
The purple mare looked up and squealed, she grabbed her book quickly and was off like a rocket.
Pinkie said “I think we met the local party pony.”
Spike asked “What?”
Pinkie said “They usually display strange powers that only party ponies understand.”
Spike asked “How do you know about that?”
Pinkie said “My parents thought I was going to be a party pony, my weird ablities lined up pretty well. I was given a party cannon for the last birthday before I was accepted into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns.”
Spike saw a tear drop from her eye as she looked up. She saw a butterscotch mare flying towards her.
Chapter 4 :Flying Weather, Beautiful Earth and Shy Magic
Pinkie grabbed the butterscotch mare and slammed her into the ground shouting “Who are you and why did you attack me?
The butterscotch mare said “I’m Flutter Dash, fastest flier in Equestria and Ponyville’s one and only weather pony.”
Pinkie looked around and said “Today, was supposed to be clear. Why haven’t you done your job.”
Flutter Dash said “I will do it after I’m done practicing.”
Pinkie asked confused “Practicing for what?”
Flutter Dash shouted excitedly “The Wonderbolts, they are going to be performing tomorrow and I will get the chance to show them my moves.”
Pinkie laughed “Why would they accept a pegasus who can’t even clean up a few measly clouds?”
Flutter Dash flew up to her face before telling her “I’ll have the sky cleared up in ten seconds flat.”
Pinkie said “Prove it.”
Pinkie watched as she cleared the sky in a matter moments. Flutter Dash asked proudly “How was that?”
Pinkie said “Pretty Impressive, I must say.”
Flutter Dash stared at her for a few moments realising the calm demeanor of the unicorn in front of her. She frowned “I expected you to be super impressed.”
Pinkie said “I’ve had a rough day, I am not capable of getting super excited right now.”
Rainbow said “Well, I’ll see you around, I have more practice to do before tonight.”
Spike said as Flutter Dash flew off “She’s amazing she cleared those clouds in no time.”
Pinkie said “Don’t get too excited we’ve still got work to do before tonight.”
They had arrived at the hall for the Summer Sun Celebration which covered in extravagant and beautiful decorations of all kinds, representing the power the sun. Spike said mesmerised “Beautiful.”
Pinkie smiled “Yes ,the decorations are beautiful.”
Spike eyes turned heart shaped as he said “Not the decor, her.”
Pinkie saw a white earth pony carrying a basket of decorations. She place pulling out different coloured ribbons before deciding on the right one to put on the column.
Spike asked “Do I look handsome?”
Pinkie ignore him asking “Good afternoon, I’m here to..”
The white mare shrieked “Your mane, it’s so flat and droll it needs some flare to it.I’m going to give you a makeover” She grabbed Pinkie and dragged her to her boutique with Spike following behind. Pinkie was surprised by the strength of the mare pulling her. When they got there.
Pinkie asked “What’s you name?”
The white mare said “Forgive me, I’m Rarity and this my boutique. Now let’s get your mane trimmed.”
Pinkie said “You shouldn't touch my mane with anything, things have a habit of falling into it and never comes out.”
Rarity said “Oh.”
She then started to match Pinkie with different dresses. Rarity asked “Why are you here” as she tried to tighten a dress around Pinkie’s body.
Pinkie gasped “I was sent from Canterlot to...”
Rarity said excitedly “Canterlot,I’m so envious the glamour, the...”
Pinkie interrupted Rarity much to her shock “It’s not it’s cracked up to be, all they nobles are rude and think themselves so important. I have yet meet a single noble with even a hint of humility.”
Pinkie chucked off her dress and said “Thank you for everything but I need to go.”
Rarity recovering from shock said “Thank you, hope to talk about a slightly more pleasant topic next time.”
Pinkie said as she left “Of course, thank you for the hospitality.” Spike walked out still smitten.
As they headed to the outskirts, Spike finally broken out of his trance said “We are supposed to visit the pony in charge of music.” Pinkie nodded and then they both turned around to the hear the sound of soft music. Pinkie peaked over to see the rainbow unicorn from earlier, helping compose bird songs. Pinkie looked for a moment before realising the mare looked familiar. Pinkie whispered “Spike, stay here and maintain silence.”
Spike nodded despite being completely confused. Pinkie walked up behind the unicorn and whispered “Hello, Prismstar.”
Prismstar turned around and whispered back “Hello, Pinkie.” Spike watched as they whispered to each other. He eventually got bored and walked out “Come on, Pinkie what are you whispering about.”
The birds startled flew away, Pinkie was about shout when Prismstar darted towards him and picked him up with her hooves, she said “A baby dragon, he so cute, where did you get him.”
Spike said “She hatched me out of egg when she was a little filly.”
Prismstar said “He can talk. Can I ask him some questions?”
Pinkie said “Of course, the music seems to be going well so there is no more to discuss.”
As Prismstar took the baby dragon inside, a small rabbit hopped out. Pinkie stared at the rabbit curiously. The rabbit took an aggressive stance towards her . To uneducated pony it would seem like a dare to approach but to a pony who studied any martial arts this was a challenge. Pinkie bowed her head before taking up a similar stance ,standing on her two back hooves. Pinkie struck first with a powerful strike knocking the rabbit flying backwards. Pinkie stared worried for a moment, before the rabbit jumped up, ready for more. They clashed exchange blow after blow. Prismstar finished with Spike only to see a unicorn and rabbit outside staring at each other.Prismstar shouted as she ran out “Stop, please.”
Pinkie heard the shouting and smiled “Look like we have to wrap this up.” They both launched a single strike each. Prismstar stared the two standing behind the other. She then shrieked as they both collapsed to the ground. Pinkie and the rabbit smiled as they blacked out. Both of them woke in Prismstar’s cottage. Prismstar said “That was very dangerous, Angel, your only a little bunny.” Angel stared her as if to say you never let me have any fun. Pinkie said “I’m sorry, it’s just Angel challenged me.”
Prismstar whispered “My fault, she always challenges other ponies to do that.”
Pinkie said as she got up “No trouble, I’d gladly come back, he is quite a fighter and you should be proud.”
Prismstar whispered “Umm I’m not sure...” Her voice became inaudible.
Pinkie said as she put Spike on her back “Spike, come on we got to read that book Celestia gave us.”
Spike said “Yes of course.” He then asked “Do want to know what Fluttershy asked me?”
Pinkie said “Sure, why not.”
As they walked back Spike told Pinkie about all of the questions Prismstar asked including his diet, who his parents were and many others. He finally said at the end “So that’s what she asked me, it was amazing for someone to be so interested in my life.”
Pinkie said “Of course” as she entered the library. The room was pitch black.
Pinkie said “Now, I really need to read that book that Celestia gave me, now where’s the light switch.”
Then the light turned on as a multitude of ponies shouted “Surprise.”
Pinkie looked at the humongous party with a smile. The purple mare asked bouncing “Hi there, my name is Twilight Sprinkles, this is just party for you are surprised, are you are you?”
Pinkie mane poofed up as she bounced up and down “Yesthisisamazinglet’sgoplaytwistertheneatlotsofcupcakescoveredinhotsauce.” Pinkie and Twilight’s smiles widened as they dashed off to play twister.Rarity collapsed to the floor.
Flutter Dash looked at Rarity before saying “Great, now there’s 2 of them. Twilight was enough for Ponyville but now we have 2 hyperactive ponies with limitless energy.”
Spike laughed “It’s finally good to see her back to her normal self.”
Applejack asked “How are you okay with this?”
Spike said “Pinkie raised me ever I hatched, this is normal for me.”
Flutter Dash nudged Applejack “Come on, let’s get some air before things get any crazier.”
Applejack said “Let’s have a race, you and me, just like the days at flight school.”
Flutter Dash said “Let’s go then.” They both dashed out an open window.
Prismstar meanwhile was hiding under a table trying to avoid the ruckus. The party went on for hours, Pinkie and Twilight were the heart of the party. After many long hours the party finally ended, leaving Pinkie with biggest smile she had had all day. Shortly afterwards they arrived at the Summer Sun Celebration Hall. Pinkie bounced up and down “Thisisgonnabesogreat.”
Pinkie and Twilight bounced up and down in unison as Fluttershy’s birds sung.Mayor Mare said “I’m proud to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration.”
The crowd cheered loudly. Mayor Mare announced “It’s time to celebrate the longest day of the year.” Pinkie remembered what was bound to happen today and looked at the moon. Her mane flattened as she saw the Mare on the Moon vanish.
Mayor Mare continued “It’s my great honour to present the guardian of harmony and the ruler of our marvelous land, Princess Celestia.” As the curtain was raised Celestia was nowhere to be found.
Rarity ran out to find Princess Celestia only to return to tell all the ponies “She’s gone.”
Then a shadow slowly appeared revealing a dark coloured Alicorn covered in heavy combat armour. Pinkie snarled “Nightmare Moon.” She rushed forward to confront the Alicorn.
Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally “You have plenty of guts standing up to me.” Pinkie stood up on her rear hooves and fired 3 bolts of magic out of glowing hooves. Nightmare Moon roared in agony as she felt blood drip from her chest. She turned into a shadow and vanished.
Pinkie grabbed Spike and darted back to the library shouting “I should have read that book, I was too distracted by the party.” The five mares she had visited that day bolted after her.
Pinkie whispered as Spike slept “You’ve been up all night, you deserve some rest. I have work to do.”
She grabs the book on the Elements “Elements of Harmony, now how to defeat...”
Flutter Dash get in Pinkie’s face “What are the elements of Harmony and ho do you know about Nightmare Moon, huh?”
Pinkie said “I am Celestia’s student, she is not the best at hiding her secrets, at least from me.”
Applejack pulls Rainbow back “We are not going to get any information from her like that, Rainbow. Pinkie, please tell us what you know?”
Pinkie said “I know about the Elements but Celestia never told me where they are or what they do only that she used them to stop Nightmare Moon the first time.”
She read the book for a few moments and then said “The Elements of Harmony are in the Everfree Forest.”
All of the ponies except Pinkie shriek “The Everfree Forest.”
They walk to the edge of the Everfree. Pinkie said “I think you should all stay here, I don’t want my new friends getting hurt.”
Applejack said “No way, sugarcube. We are your friends, don’t ya know and there’s no way we letting a friend go into that miserable place alone, right girls.”
The rest of them nod as they enter. Pinkie asked “So have any of you been here before?’
Rarity said “Heavens no, it’s full of monsters.” Unbeknownst to them Nightmare Moon was under the ground they were walking on.
Applejack said “From what I’ve heard from folks it doesn’t work the same as Equestria.”
Pinkie asked “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Flutter Dash said “Nopony knows. You know why?”
Applejack frowned “Flutter,quit it.”
Flutter Dash continued “’Cause anypony who ever came in, never came, OUT.”
Nightmare Moon flew out in a haze causing the ground to collapse. Flutter Dash and Applejack fly above the ground and catch Rarity and Pinkie. Prismstar caught Pinkie as she was about to fall off a cliff. Pinkie panicked “What do I do?”
A voice came from behind her “Just let go.” Pinkie said “No way, I’ll fall.” The voice said “No ya, won’t I promise.” Pinkie felt like the voice was right she did as the voice said, she screamed as she fell only to be caught by Applejack and Flutter Dash. Pinkie said “Thanks.”
They walk forwards as Flutter Dash continued boast about she caught her. Pinkie ignored the Butterscotch Pegasus. Pinkie hissed as she saw a manticore jump down and roar. Rarity kicked the manticore causing it to stagger. It roared in response before chasing her. Prismstar said in her barely audible voice “Wait.”
Applejack jumped on the manticore’s back only to be knocked of slightly later. Prismstar repeated “Wait” before Flutter Dash then tried to use her speed to disrupt the manticore's balance, only to be swatted away by it’s tail.
Pinkie then furious charged with all her friends beside Prismstar. Prismstar screamed “STOP!”
All her friends stopped as they looked at the blue unicorn. She walked over and nudged the manticore’s paw. The manticore looked at confused. Prismstar asked “Please show me your paw?”
The manticore obliged showing a large thorn lodged in it. Prismstar nodded she glowed her horn pulling out the thorn quickly. The manticore roared before licking her, much to all her friends confusion. The manticore then left happily. Pinkie asked as they continued on “How did you know?”
The timid unicorn smiled “I didn’t, sometimes all it takes a little kindness.”
They marched on for hours. Applejack was starting to feel exhausted, while a life time of hard work had improved her endurance, as a batpony her endurance doesn’t match up to an earth ponies. Prismstar was tired as well, she managed to get this far only by pacing herself. Flutter Dash was complaining about the trip’s length. Rarity was managing quite well, while the small signs of exhaustion, they were not as bad as the others excluding, Pinkie and Twilight who were still full of energy. Flutter Dash complained before pointing at Pinkie and Twilight “How are you in such good condition, Rarity, we are all exhausted, ignoring the happy crew?”
Rarity said “When you are a earth pony running a boutique you have to carry all the clothes, you make everywhere. It is a mater of pride.” Flutter Dash was about to complain again when the forest suddenly got dark. Pinkie said “Me and Prismstar can cast a light spell,” only to see several scary looking trees turned up. 5 of the 6 friends backed into the centre staring at the trees, shaking.
A familiar voice said “We will eat you.” Pinkie looked around to see Twilight standing next to a tree. Twilight repeated “We will eat you run away.”
Pinkie said “I love a joke as much as the next half-psycotic over-excitable mare but this is serious.”
Twilight laughed “Serious, how about now?” In a flash of light all the tree were now all had fake moustaches and beard. Twilight and Pinkie started laughing causing the rest to follow suit. They also felt re-energised and they ecstatically continued into the forest.
The bump into each other at a large lake before noticing a huge sea serpent rise out of the water. The huge sea serpent cried at them “I was just minding own business when a malicious looking cloud tore half my beautiful mustache off.”
Flutter Dash asked “Come on, is he serious?
Rarity said “Flutter, that was very rude.”
She then turned to the sea serpent and said “I will not allow such an insult to beauty go unchecked.” She pulled out a special pair of her scissors and cut part of her tail off. She then walked up to the sea serpent’s face and tied it to the sea serpents broken mustache.
Pinkie asked “Your precious tail, are you okay?”
Rarity nodded “I couldn’t let such a affront to beauty go on, besides it will grow back.”
Flutter Dash whispered “So would his mustache.”
The sea serpent said “Thank you so much, allow me to provide safe passage.” The 6 friends bounced on the sea serpent to get across the water. Pinkie ran forward seeing the ruins only to almost fall off as the bridge was cut. Flutter Dash pulled her up and then said “I will handle this, just watch.”
She flew down and grabbed the broke rope. She then carried it to the other side. A voice called hauntingly “Flutter, Flutter.” Flutter Dash looked around confused. The voice then continued “We have been waiting for you, Equestria’s greatest flyer for the longest time.” Flutter Dash said “Well, could you tell the Wonderbolts for me. I have been trying to join them for the longest time.”
The voice revealed itself 3 pegasi who flew out of the mist and said “We are the Shadowbolts, the best fliers in the Everfree forest. We will become the greatest flying team in all of Equestria. We want you to join us.” Flutter Dash said “Sure, let me just help my friends.”
The Shadowbolts said “If you want to join us then you have to leave them behind.” Flutter Dash stared at her friends and back at the Shadowbolts. The Shadowbolts closed the mist between them.
Flutter Dash made her decision “I’m grateful for the offer but I will have to decline.” The Shadowbolts were shocked. She flew back and tied the bridge. All of her friends walked across. She said “I would never leave a friend hanging.” Pinkie and Twilight laughed while the rest groaned at the pun.
Pinkie and her friends quickly fine the elements. Flutter Dash asked “Isn’t there supposed to be 6.” Pinkie replied “The sixth will be revealed with a spark.” Applejack asked “What does that mean exactly?” Pinkie frowned “Not sure but I'll figure out something.”
The other 5 leave the room leaving Pinkie with elements trying to get them to work. However as she does Nightmare Moon emerges and pushes her away from the elements. Pinkie looks at Nightmare Moon with a fierce expression. Nightmare Moon asked “Who are you, your full name. You utilised chaos magic, that should be impossible.”
Pinkie shouted “I am Pinkamena Diane Starburst and I will...” Nightmare Moon said “I can’t believe your a descendant of Discord’s beloved son.”
Pinkie ignored her statement and charged. Nightmare Moon charged as well confident, despite her injury. Pinkie then teleported behind her and tried to use the elements, only to get knocked away.
Nightmare Moon looked shocked at the elements glow until they stopped. She then laughed as she crushed them “You think you had any real chance against me, little foal.” Pinkie said “I’m sorry, Celestia, Chaos seal 1 break.” Pinkie’s magic flared out of her body shaking the entire Everfree forest.
Nightmare Moon shouted “Impossible, you can’t have such power.” Pinkie ‘s power then settled and glowed. Pinkie then heard her friends voice and realised something. She resealed her power and said “You really think you destroy the elements like that. Their spirits are still with us. My friends who have brought me this far. Applejack who helped me overcome my doubt in the face of danger represents honesty.” The element flew up to her.
Pinkie continued causing each element to go to their bearer. “Prismstar who saved us from an angry Manticore removing a thorn from it’s paw represents kindness. Twilight who revitalised us with her mad antics represents laughter. Rarity who sacrificed her beautiful tail to help a upset sea serpent represents generosity and finally Flutter Dash who put her friend above her own ambitions represents loyalty.”
Nightmare Moon said “You don’t have the last element, you can’t stop me.” Pinkie said “The spark comes from within us, from the bond we shared on this journey, from friendship and friendship bring forth magic” all the elements turned into necklaces with the final element magic turning into a tiara with a pink gem on Pinkie’s head.” The power of the elements blasted Nightmare Moon.
They woke a little while later to be all okay and the looked at each other . Rarity smiled noticing her tail was back and Pinkie smiled looking at the sunrise. Pinkie smiled as she heard a familiar voice “Now you see why I sent you here.”
Pinkie smiled “Yes I did, Celestia so I could let true friendship something I never really had into my heart.” Celestia said as she turned her heard “I just hope another can do the same, Princess Luna.” Princess Luna looked up at Celestia who walked towards her. Celestia asked Princess Luna something that made all the elements except Pinkie shocked “Little sister, we were to rule as equals and instead I outshone you, will you accept my forgiveness and friendship.”
The elements were all bending over especially Twilight who actually lost her balance. Luna accepted hugging her sister. Pinkie and Twilight were crying tears of joy before Pinkie’s mane poofed up for the first time since the Nightmare Moon’s arrival and they shouted “Party time!”
Pinkie was smiling when they arrived back at Ponyville until she realised she had to go back to Canterlot. Pinkie said sadly “I have to go now don’t I.” She looked at all of her friends.” Celestia said “Spike, take a note. I hereby allow my pupil to continue the study the magic of friendship, she will report to me once a week while staying in her new home in Ponyville.” Pinkie shouted “CELESTIATHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU.”
