Pink pony birthday's are fun!

It's Pinkie's birthday again, and this time, Twilight Sparkle and the others are determined to make sure Pinkie doesn't think she's been forgotten while still making sure it's a surprise.

I never thought I'd make another one of these.
Ah well. For a friendo who won't be on for his birthday.

Happy Birthday Dear Pinkie...

"Oh.. Hi Pinkie!" Fluttershy exclaimed, louder than she usually was. "I didn't see you there. Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"

"Oh no, I'm fine Fluttershy! Thanks for asking though," Pinkie replied casually. Then she realized something. "Heeeeyy, you're being louder than normal. Are you excited? Nervous? Nervousited?! Tell me Fluttershy, tell meeeee."

"Um... All?"

"Nervousited it is! But wait, what are you nervousited about? Are you going on your date with D-" Fluttershy put her hoof in Pinkie's mouth to stop her.

"No, that's tomorrow. It's just... I have this friend who's birthday is really soon and I still don't know what to get her!" Fluttershy finished quickly. "I'm an awful friend, aren't I?"

"Silly, just because you don't know what to get you're gonna get your friend doesn't make you a bad one. Just get her something she likes! Or needs. Or both! Ooh both is really good because then it's like a double present! I wonder what..."

While Pinkie Pie continued to ramble about presents, Fluttershy flew off to find the perfect one, and Rarity walked up just as Pinkie was finishing.

"Darling, what on earth are you babbling about?" Rarity asked, somewhat amused.

"Oh, Fluttershy was wondering about what to get a friend for -her? I'm gonna say her- her birthday, and I told her she should get her something she wants and or needs! Like a two for one deal! And then I started talking about how I needed and wanted a new mixer because my other one broke! Now that I thi-"

"I believe I get it, Miss Pie. And I believe I know the friend dear Fluttershy was talking about. And, you are correct. Her friend is a she.," Rarity calmly stated, interrupting Pinkie's rant.

"Oh thank goodness! That means I won't get in too much trouble for assuming gender... Right fluffy?" Pinkie asked, looking at nothing in particular, to Rarity's bewilderment.

(I dunno, that's for the readers to decide. Now stop breaking walls and let's get back to the story, shall we?)

"Okay!" Pinkie turned back to Rarity. "So who is this friend? Do I know her? Does she live in Ponyville??"

"Yes, to the second and third. But the first... Well, we're not allowed to say anything..."

"Aaaaww, why not?" Pinkie pouted.

"Because... We're trying to surprise her! Yes, that's it... And we're... Worried you might tell her?"

"But what if I-"

"No! I simply cannot tell you, Pinkie. I'm sorry," Rarity said, then promptly ran off.

"Phooey. Hey, fluffy are you still there?"

(What did I say about the walls?)

"Sorry..."

(It's fine, but seriously, no more.)

"Oka- Hey Rainbow!" Pinkie called, seeing her friend flying above her.

"Oh, hey Pinkie! I was just about to come get you," Rainbow yelled down to her. "C'mon, everypony's heading to Twi's!"

"Okay!" Pinkie responded, bouncing along, heading towards Twilight's castle.

Rainbow Dash got there a little before her, but when she entered, Pinkie noticed all the light's were out.

"Huh.. where is everypo-"

"Happy birthday Pinkie!"

The lights turned on to reveal her friends, a table with some gifts on it, some yellow balloons, and a red velvet cake.

Pinkie gasped. "You guys! This is amazing! You even remembered my favorite kind of cake!" she exclaimed, pulling her friends into a hug. "You're the best friends I could ask for... Wait... Fluttershy is this why you asked me about presents?"

The yellow pegasus nodded.

"Aaaaww, I wouldn't have thought you were an awful friend! This party alone is great enough!"

"We're glad you liked it, Pinkie," Twilight said. "Now come on, Spike is dying for you to open you're presents. But I told him we were having cake first."

"Hurry up and make a wish! AJ, give her the cake!"

"Made it special just fer you, sugarcube," Applejack stated, passing the cake to the birthday pony. "It's probably not as good as yer red velvet cakes, but Ah'd try anything fer a friend."

Pinkie excitedly made a wish and blew out the candle on the cake. She then cut the cake into seven equal slices. How? Don't question it- this is Pinkie Pie we're talking about.

Various voices called out variations of "What'd you wish for Pinkie?" while they were eating.

"I wished for us all to be friends for a long time!" she said excitedly, pulling her friends into another hug.

"Now come on and open your presents! I really hope you like mine..." Spike said, getting antsy.

"You know what, Spike? I'll open your's first!" Pinkie said enthusiastically, walking over to the table. "You've been very patient."

"Really? Thanks Pinkie!"

Pinkie picked up his gift off the table, carefully unwrapping it. Inside, was a box. In the box was a red velvet cupcake.

"Aaaaww thanks Spike!" she exclaimed, putting it down and making a mental note to eat it later. She then picked up the one from Rainbow Dash. Upon unwrapping it, she discovered it contained a prank set. She hoof-bumped Rainbow for the totally awesome gift.

From Rarity she received a yellow apron. Twilight had given her a cookbook. And Applejack had gotten her a mixing bowl. She couldn't find Fluttershy's gift.

"Where's your's, 'Shy?" Rainbow asked.

"Right here. I didn't get the chance to wrap it but..."

After the party, Pinkie returned to the place she was at before.

"Hey fluffy?"

(Yeah?)

"Tell Raven happy birthday for me, will ya?"

(Of course!)
