The Republic Rises

Orion was recruited as a soldier in the war at a very young age, but even before that he had some experience in leading, and that was why she choose him of course. His past had been filled with pain, sorrow, despair, chaos, and strife too as well. He had been born an orphan and his whole entire life he had just wanted to fit in a group, but every time that he tried to do so he eventually failed.

No pony else could accept him, and they never would because they did not understand him, and how could they ever possibly do so? He had a voice and wanted it heard, but it was silenced whenever he tried to raise it in protest.

He wanted to be a part of a group and family, but never really felt truly cared for or accepted into it. But when she eventually finally came to him in a dream and offered to be part of her group which was the resistance he accepted it.

After all, he had to keep trying to be better and improve.

And eventually he did finally find a place of acceptance with this group now.

He quickly rose with their ranks gaining power and position as well too.

He soon came to know every story and tale of every pony that was there.

He knew of Octavia and how she wanted to play music, but gave it up.

He knew every new recruit and every face that fought for them too.

There wasn’t one single pony here that could ever really hide from him.

And there was no escape from his ever-constant vigilant eye at all ever.

Of course there was only one small tiny slight problem to their group and society, and that would be with the majority sided with the Solar Empire instead.

Other various random small tiny little groups with weren’t a threat to them or noticeable at all, all except for Twilight’s group of course. They had been trying to spread a message of peace and negotiation for many years now, but they had failed many times and weren’t large or big enough to be deemed a threat yet.

But he wasn’t worried about them just like every pony else that was currently there. And life was pretty good and sweet and normal and regular for him.

Of course it could always be better or worse, but he didn’t complain all that much since he felt satisfied and content enough with his life already, and that was why no matter what happened he would always be content and satisfied with his life now then, and so he smiled as he watched the new recruits come in and train.

Everything was going quite well indeed, and things couldn’t be that much better for the Republic, after all, they could always be worse off instead.

And so he decided to have a talk with Luna now then.

“Is something troubling you?” she said then now.

“No, I just wanted to thank you for taking me in,” he said then now.

“Well if that all then you’re dismissed,” she said then now.

“Thank you very much,” he said leaving her all alone now then.

And with that said he went outside to see the setting sun and waited for the moon to rise, because every time that it did it renewed his hope about the war, it strengthened his urge to fight for the republic no matter what happened now.

And he knew for sure that every day and night that the moon would come just like they were rising in power and strength. He waited all alone in his thoughts and eventually it finally decided to show itself, “There you are,” he said to himself now then not sure why he was not talking to himself then exactly.

But perhaps maybe it was because he had no pony else to love, or any pony else to love him, and that was one thing that he had always wanted ever since he was very small, young, and little, a relationship of love. But he sighed knowing that he would probably never ever get his wish of deepest desire and dream, or at least not until the war was finally eventually over, but when it was he would be sure to find some pony else that was just perfect for him and marry them.

But until then he would serve his duty and do his job for the republic no matter what it was or what the cost might be. And right now his radio told him that he had a new job right now. “What’s the job this time?” he said now then.

“New recruit pick up tomorrow, her name is Ruby Crystal, got that?”

“Sure thing but where should I pick her up at exactly?”

“Town square, she goes there almost every day, that’s where.”

“Got it, I guess that I’ll see you at the cafeteria then?” he said smiling now then.

“Oh you can bet on it, last one there doesn’t get any chocolate pudding,”

“Hey, no fair, you’re a lot closer than I am,” he said running down. “And you’re a lot faster than me or any pony else, and you also have magic too as well.”

“Oh alright, that’s a very fair fine point,” and with that said he raced off to the dining hall and managed to get their first, and he smiled as he sat down victorious once more, and he knew that tomorrow would be another great day for them, because with every new recruit they gained they grew ever yet stronger now, and it didn’t matter how small, tiny, or little they did, because it all went to the rise of the republic, and that’s all that really mattered in the end.

Nothing else quite measured up to their standard yet, only the best.

And so he ate, went to bed, and waited for tomorrow to come so that a new day might begin and therefore another rising of the moon could begin again.
