> Do You Forgive Me? > by Zenyattaluver677 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Confession > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was 1:30 in the morning, the Dazzling's household was dark and quiet ... well ... almost quiet. Sonata Dusk, the youngest of the three girls, was lying awake in her bed staring up at the dark ceiling of her room. She'd had another nightmare, she'd been having them every night for the past week and she was starting to get tired of having them. Even though she was having nightmares every night, she couldn't figure out what was causing her to have them, but she guessed that it was from the scary shows that Adagio had been watching every night for the past week. Sonata decided she might as well go and wake up one of the other girls and ask them if she could sleep with them since she wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep on her own. She quietly got out of her bed, walked over to her door and opened it. She walked out to the hallway and walked down the hallway, she stopped when she was standing outside the other two girl's rooms which were across from each other. She thought for a minute about who she would ask to sleep with, all the previous nights she'd slept with Aria because Adagio always told her that she couldn't sleep with her when she asked her but she though she'd ask Adagio again, like she always did. She walked over to the door on her left, which was Adagio's, it was closed completely like it usually was, Sonata quietly opened the door and peeked inside the room before entering. Adagio was laying on her left side, she was facing the door. Sonata opened the door wide enough so she could enter the room and walked over to Adagio's bed. Adagio was the oldest of the three girls, she was also the most demanding, whatever she said went. Sonata knelt down beside Adagio's bed, leaned on the bed and shook Adagio with her left hand. "What do you want Sonata?" Adagio asked without opening her eyes. "I can't sleep and I was wondering if I could sleep with you." Sonata answered. She stopped shaking Adagio and waited for her to answer. "Again. Why can't you sleep this time?" Adagio exclaimed. "Nightmares. Same as last night." Sonata said, she looked down and fumbled with her hands. "What did you have a nightmare about this time?" Adagio asked, she was getting tired of Sonata asking her if she could sleep with her every night like this. "The scary show you were watching." Sonata answered. "That again. Sonata, its not real, you know that." Adagio stated, she rubber her eyes and sat up on her elbows. "I know. Can I sleep with you because I can't go back to sleep?" Sonata asked again. "No." Adagio answered. "Why not?" Sonata whined. "Because I said no. Don't go bug Aria either, just go back to your room and try to go to sleep ok." Adagio said, she watched Sonata get up and walk towards the door. "Ok." Sonata said, she walked out of Adagio's room, shut the door and went back to her room. She got to her room and went and laid down in her bed again, she stared at the far wall. She knew that she wasn't supposed to bug Aria, but she also knew that she wouldn't get back to sleep if she didn't. She got out of bed again, went to the hallway and quietly walked down the hallway to Aria's door. She opened the door a little bit and peeked in, Aria was laying on her right side with her back to the door, her hair was down and it was so long that some of it hung off the side of her bed. Sonata opened the door so she could go in the room and quickly walked over to Aria's bed. She put one hand out and gently shook Aria. "Ari!" Sonata said. No answer. "Ari wake up." Sonata said again. She began shaking Aria more vigorously. "What is it?" Aria asked, she rolled over and opened one eye to look at Sonata. "I-I can't sleep." Sonata said. "You can't sleep again?" Aria asked tiredly. "No." Sonata answered. "Nightmares again right." Aria said. She rested on her arms and turned on the lamp beside her bed. "Yeah." Sonata answered. "Did you tell Adagio?" Aria asked again. "Yeah." Sonata answered. "What'd she say?" Aria asked. "She told me to go back to bed and try to go back to sleep and not come and bug you." Sonata answered. "That's it. She didn't help you or anything?" Aria asked again. She'd always listened to Sonata when she was upset because she was the one that had to comfort her all the time. "No." Sonata answered. Her voice started to drift off because she was nervous. "What did you have a nightmare about this time?' Aria asked her again. She reached over and rested her right hand on Sonata's shoulder. "The show we were watching." Sonata answered. "What show?" Aria asked confusingly. "The scary one." Sonata answered. "Oh. Sonata, its not real." Aria told her. "That's what Adagio said and I know that, it just scares me." Sonata explained. "I know." Aria said. "Can I sleep with you?" Sonata asked Aria. "Yeah I guess." Aria answered. She moved over so Sonata would have room and would be able to get on the bed. "Thanks." Sonata said. "No problem. Now I'm going to turn off the lamp so it's going to be dark ok." Aria explained to Sonata, Sonata was scared of the dark to so Aria didn't want her to start crying. "Ok." Sonata said. When Aria turned off the lamp Sonata looked around the room for a minute before settling down and getting comfortable. Aria laid on her left side so she was facing Sonata, who was laying on her right side. Sonata drifted off to sleep shortly and Aria watched her for a minute before falling asleep, the two remained that way for the rest of the night. The next morning, Adagio woke up and got out bed. She decided to go downstairs and start making breakfast. Both Aria and Sonata's doors were closed so she decided to just leave them be. She knew Aria wasn't really a morning person and Sonata would probably be up any minute. Adagio grabbed a pan out of the cupboard and put in on the stove and went and turned on the radio to listen to some music while she made breakfast. She went back to the stove and started to cook eggs. She glanced out the window above the sink to her left and looked out at the vast horizon. It appeared as if it was going to rain that day because they're were dark clouds above the house. Adagio turned around when she heard someone coming down the stairs. She figured it was Sonata but she was surprised to when she saw Aria come around the corner. "Your up early." Adagio said when Aria walked over to the table and sat down. "Yeah." Aria said. "Is Sonata coming?" Adagio asked Aria who was on her phone. "No she's still asleep." Aria answered without looking up from her phone. "Oh. Can you go wake her up then." Adagio said. Aria didn't answer, she was looking through her Instagram at the moment and wasn't paying attention. Adagio waited for a minute to see if Aria answered, when Aria didn't answer Adagio spoke up, more firmly this time. "Aria!" Adagio exclaimed. "What?" Aria asked annoyingly, she looked up at Adagio. "I asked you to go wake up Sonata so go do it." Adagio explained, turning back to the eggs. "Why can't you just do it?" Aria asked again. "Because I'm busy." Adagio answered. "Well I don't want to go wake her up right now." Aria said, going back to her phone. "Go do it." Adagio said, she turned to face Aria, she pointed towards the door of the kitchen. "Fine." Aria said, she got up from the table and stomped out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Aria approached her room which she'd left the door open to. She walked in and watched Sonata sleep for a minute before waking her up. "Sonata wake up." Aria said while gently shaking Sonata. "No." Sonata mumbled. "Sonata you have to get up." Aria said, she stopped shaking Sonata and waited for her to answer. "Why?" Sonata said, rolling over to look at Aria. "Because Adagio said so." Aria answered. "I'm still tired though." Sonata said while she stood up and rubbed her eyes. "I know how you feel." Aria said to Sonata. "You do?" Sonata asked curiously. "Yeah. This is how I feel every morning when Adagio comes and wakes me up." Aria explained to Sonata as the two went downstairs. Sonata and Aria went downstairs and went into the kitchen. Adagio was too busy with the eggs so she didn't notice them until Sonata spoke up. "What are we having for breakfast?" Sonata asked, she looked over at Adagio. "Scrambled eggs and bacon." Adagio answered. "Ok." Sonata said. "Speaking of bacon, Aria can you go grab some bacon from the deep freeze in the garage and start cooking it?" Adagio asked, turning to Aria. "Yeah I can." Aria said, she set her phone down on the table and went to get the bacon. Even though the Dazzlings were a small group, their house was like a mansion. It was huge. It had three levels, the basement, the main area and the upstairs area where their bedrooms were. Out of the three bedrooms, Aria's was the biggest, hers was also the only one that had a bathroom connected to it. Adagio figured that's why Aria acted the way she did most of the time, because she knew she had the biggest room of all of them. Each girl had a handmade sign on the doors of their rooms, they'd each made their own sign. "I'm back." Aria announced when she came around the corner. "Good. You can start the bacon next to me." Adagio said, she moved over so Aria could set the bacon down. "What can I do?" Sonata asked a few minutes later after watching both Aria and Adagio do their jobs. "You can sit there quietly while we cook." Adagio answered, looking over at Sonata. "No. She can help me, it's ok." Aria said, turning to look at Sonata. "Are you sure?" Adagio asked Aria. "Yeah. She's helped me cook before." Aria answered. She moved over to make room for Sonata. "When?" Adagio asked questioningly. "The day you weren't feeling good remember." Aria answered. "Oh yeah." Adagio said. Adagio worked on the eggs and Aria and Sonata did the bacon. When the eggs were almost done Adagio set the table, Sonata watched Adagio while Aria checked the bacon. Adagio finished with the table and went back to finish the eggs. Aria took the bacon out of the oven when it was done and set it on the top of the stove. Adagio finished the eggs and separated them fairly evenly on the girl's plates. Aria put the bacon on a plate and set the plate in the middle of the table. They all washed their hands and then sat down to eat. "So Sonata were you able to go back to sleep last night after you came and woke me up last night?" Adagio asked Sonata. "She tried to but then she came and woke me up." Aria answered for Sonata because Sonata was busy. "Sonata I told you not to do that." Adagio stated. "I know but I couldn't go back to sleep." Sonata explained. "So you went and bugged Aria instead." Adagio said, leaning forward in her chair for a second. "What else was she supposed to do? You said you wouldn't help her?" Aria asked Adagio, raising her eyebrows. "She could've just realized that she was being silly and went back to bed." Adagio answered. "But that's hard to do." Sonata exclaimed. "It's not that hard." Adagio told her. "Yeah it is." Sonata argued. "Whatever." Adagio said, going back to her breakfast. The girls ate in silence again for a few minutes before Adagio spoke up again. "It looks like it's going to rain today." Adagio told the girls. "That's nice." Aria said, she'd finished eating and now she was playing on her phone. "It probably won't be so nice when you and Sonata have to go outside and feed the animals." Adagio said to Aria, taking her plate to the sink. "Won't bother me but it might bother her." Aria said, pointing to Sonata. "Ok then. Could you both go and get dressed please then?" Adagio asked the girls. "Ok." Sonata said, she got up from the table and walked upstairs to her bedroom. "Ugh. Fine." Aria said, stomping up the stairs behind Sonata. Adagio turned off the radio and went to get dressed, when she came back downstairs she grabbed her phone off the side table by the couch and looked through her social media. Upstairs, Sonata was dressed and was looking for something in her room, Aria walked by and peeked in when she heard a noise coming from Sonata's room, she stopped and watched Sonata from the door. Sonata was looking through her dresser and taking things out of the drawer she was looking in and then putting them back when she didn't find the thing she was looking for. Aria finally decided to see what the heck Sonata was looking for in the first place, not that she wanted to help her or anything. "What are you looking for Sonata?" Aria asked her, stepping into the room. "I'm looking for one of my hair elastics. I can't find any." Sonata answered, looking over at Aria and closing the drawer she was looking inside of. "Isn't there some on your headboard." Aria explained, pointing towards Sonata's bed. "There was but then I put them somewhere because Adagio told me to." Sonata said. "Oh well then I don't know where they are." Aria said, she leaned back against the wall and watched as Sonata continued to search for her hair elastics. "Can you help me look Aria?" Sonata asked, closing another drawer with no luck. "I guess." Aria said, she walked in and started looking for Sonata's hair elastics. The two girls looked for a few minutes before Aria found one of Sonata's hair elastics on the small dresser beside her bed. She gave it to Sonata who quickly pulled her hair back into a ponytail and then the two left Sonata's room. They went downstairs and sat on the couch and reclining chair, Sonata turned on the TV, Aria played on her phone and Adagio was also on her phone. When Aria glanced at the clock about 20 minutes later she noticed that it was 10:05 and she decided that it was a good time for her and Sonata to go and feed the animals. "Sonata lets go feed the animals." Aria stated, getting up from the reclining chair and walking towards the front door. "Ok." Sonata said, she set the TV remote on the side table and followed Aria to the door. "Have fun you two. Don't get to wet." Adagio said from her spot on the couch. "We won't." Aria shouted from the hallway. "Sonata put your boots on." Aria said as she put her sweater on. "Ok." Sonata answered, putting her boots on. The two girls left the house and ran to the back of the property where the barn was so they wouldn't get too wet. When they were in the barn they took off their hoods and went to where they keep all the food for the animals. "Sonata take this bucket and go feed Willow and I'll feed the cows ok." Aria explained, handing a bucket to Sonata. "Ok." Sonata replied. After the girls fed the animals, they ran back to the house and put their boots on the rack and hung up their sweaters. Aria walked into the living room and Sonata went to play with her toys in the basement. Aria grabbed her phone and sat down on the couch and looked through her social media. Adagio wasn't in the room at the moment so Aria used this opportunity to stretch out on the couch and relax. Adagio came into the room a few minutes later with some movies in her hands, Aria guessed they were horror movies because that's what Adagio'd been watching for the past week. Aria moved her legs so Adagio could sit down on the couch and put her phone on the side table. "I've got some ideas of movies we could watch tonight, I just don't know which one we should watch." Adagio explained to Aria, sitting down on the couch and setting the three movies on her lap. "Well what movies did you grab?" Aria asked her. "I grabbed The Conjuring, Don't Breathe and Sinister." Adagio answered, holding up each movie so Aria could see them. "I've seen Sinister before so not that one and I know you've seen The Conjuring so let's watch Don't Breath." Aria said. "Ok." Adagio said, getting up to go put the other two movies back in the room they had where they put all their movies. "Wait, what about Sonata?" Aria asked Adagio. "What about her." Adagio asked quizzically. "You know she'll have nightmares again if she watches it with us, and telling her she can't watch it is like telling you that you can't do your hair everyday." Aria explained to Adagio. "If she has nightmares you can deal with it, she's not my problem when it comes to these things." Adagio said, turning and leaving the room. "Of course she's my problem, I always have to deal with her." Aria mumbled to herself. Aria looked out the window that was beside the couch and noticed that it was raining harder now than it had been when her and Sonata had gone to feed the animals. She got up and went to the kitchen to look for something to snack on. She looked through some cupboards and the fridge without finding anything appealing and then went back to sit down on the couch. BOOM! A loud clap of thunder, followed by a light flash went off above the house, Aria counted on her fingers to see how long it would take for Sonata to run upstairs because she was scared. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-" "Ari!" Sonata screamed as she ran into the living room and sat on the couch next to Aria. "Hey it took you three less seconds to run up the stairs than last time, that's a new personal best." Aria exclaimed to Sonata. Sonata didn't say anything she just sat on the couch with her knees close to her chest and with her chin rested on them. At first Aria didn't really care but then she noticed that Sonata was shaking and trembling all over the place and started to feel bad for her but she didn't know why. She moved closer to Sonata and sympathetically put her left arm around Sonata's back and took her right hand and traced the outline of Sonata right's hand, which is what she did when Sonata was scared, it just helped to calm her down a little more. "I'm scared Ari." Sonata said, moving closer to Aria so she'd feel protected. "I know you are but there's nothing to be afraid of, its just thundering and lightning outside." Aria explained to Sonata. "It's loud though and I don't like really, really loud noises." Sonata explained. "I know you don't." Aria said calmly to her. "What the heck are you two doing?" Adagio asked confusingly from the doorway to the living room. "Why do you care?" Aria asked Adagio. "Because I rarely ever see you let Sonata huddle that close to you, normally you'd push her away." Adagio answered, looking the two of them over. "Yeah but she's scared." Aria explained. "Of what?" Adagio asked flatly. "The thunder outside." Aria said as another loud crash of thunder went off above the house, causing Sonata to start crying slightly. "Are you serious Aria, she's scared of thunder now too?" Adagio asked again, her voice was agitated. "She's always been scared of thunder because it's a loud noise and she doesn't like noises that loud." Aria said while she began rubbing Sonata's back to get her to stop crying. "I can't believe you Sonata." Adagio said surprisingly but sarcastically at the same time. "W-What else am I supposed to do, its scary." Sonata exclaimed to Adagio. "Um I don't know, figure out that it's nothing to be scared of and ignore it like me and Aria do." Adagio said firmly, making the situation worse by causing Sonata to cry harder. "Adagio now your making it worse because your yelling at her for being scared." Aria explained, grabbing Sonata's right hand with her's and pulling it closer to her chest. "I know but she also knows what happens if she doesn't stop freaking out after a while." Adagio said, bringing up the fact that Sonata possibly could slip into an anxiety/panic attack or hyperventilate if she didn't stop freaking out after about half an hour. "Yes she does but do you have to bring that up now, she doesn't like talking about it." Aria said to Adagio through gritted teeth, she was trying not to lose her temper and go off on Adagio while trying to calm Sonata down at the same time. Adagio didn't say anything else she just sat down on the reclining chair and turned on the TV to watch something. Aria and Adagio both knew that once Sonata started showing the symptoms of going into a panic/anxiety attack that it would take about 10-15 minutes for the attack to actually start and Sonata's panic/anxiety attacks usually lasted anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how serious her attack is. One of the first symptoms Sonata usually showed was she would either start to sweat or say that she felt dizzy or nauseated. Sometimes when she was going to have one of her more severe attacks, the first symptoms she could start showing are derealization, chest pain and chills and hot flashes. Adagio never really cared when Sonata started to panic so Aria had to deal with it, like always, she didn't like to because sometimes it took her up to about 15 minutes to get Sonata's to come out of her sense of panic or anxiety, this would only be when she had a severe attack. "Sonata?" Aria asked Sonata after a few minutes went by. "What?" Sonata asked, looking up at Aria. "Do you wanna go upstairs to your room?" Aria asked her calmly. "If you come with me then yeah." Sonata answered. "Well of course I'm going to come with you, I'm not going to take you up their and leave you by yourself." Aria explained to Sonata. "Ok." Sonata said. "Let's go." Aria said, getting up from the couch, taking Sonata's hand and leading her upstairs to her bedroom. Adagio watched the two leave the room with a puzzled look on her face that Aria hadn't noticed when she'd walked by with Sonata. She looked back at the TV screen for a minute before turning off the TV and getting up to do some work around the house, she always had to do the work around the house, the other two girls were lazy and didn't do anything except feed the animals and make their beds, which Sonata rarely ever did. Adagio always had to remind her to make it, which is something that she hated because it got annoying when she had to tell her to make it every single day. Adagio knew she shouldn't go bother Aria and Sonata but she wanted to find out what the heck was going on with the two of them, then she got an idea, instead of asking them what was going on, she could go into Aria's room and see if she could find anything that would explain why she was being so nice to Sonata all of a sudden. She walked quietly up the stairs and quickly and silently walked past Sonata's closed bedroom door, she stopped outside the door for a minute to listen when she heard voices coming from inside the room, then she continued down the hall to Aria's room, the door was closed firmly, as usual so Adagio opened it, making sure not to let it creak and snuck in when the crack in the door was big enough for her to slip through. Adagio knew it was mean to snoop through Aria's things and she also knew that Aria didn't like anyone going into her room without her permission first, so Adagio knew she had to do this quickly, before Aria decided to come and grab something from her room or come into her room. She went to the side table that was beside Aria's bed and opened the drawer that was in it, she was surprised when she found Aria's diary in the drawer, usually Aria locked it up in her closet or something. She closed the drawer and took the diary into her room and closed her bedroom drawer and sat on her bed and opened it. It was dated back to the previous month, Adagio thought she'd start there and if nothing interesting occurred she'd go further into the diary to read. She went to the first page in the diary and read what was written down, which wasn't much, it was maybe three or four lines at the most. March 10 Today was a normal day, Adagio was telling me and Sonata to do stuff but we must not have been listening because Adagio was yelling at both of us to do our stuff that we had to do, which was just make our beds, I told her I would do it later, but she didn't care, she wanted me to do it when she told me to do it. Anyways I have to go, Adagio said we were going to have to go eat somewhere in town because she wants to. "Well that didn't help me out at all." Adagio mumbled to herself. She flipped a few pages into the diary and stopped when she was about four pages away from what she'd just read. This page had a little bit more writing on it than the last and Sonata's name was mentioned a couple more times to. March 22 Today was kind of a weird day, I went to town and got a call from Adagio saying that I had to come home because Sonata was freaking out about something and she couldn't get her to calm down. I didn't really want to do it but knew that if I didn't Sonata would get in crap for freaking out about something stupid, that's always what happens and then I have to either deal with Sonata or break up the fight between the two. I hate cheering Sonata up but at the same time it's not really that bad. Adagio kept reading, there was more stuff on the page that were dated differently, they had some pretty interesting stuff written there to, Sonata's name was mentioned in almost every one also. March 24 Didn't sleep very well last night because Sonata scared the crap out of me and Adagio when she went into a anxiety attack over the show we'd been watching. Everything was fine until we went to go to bed, Sonata had gone to bed before us, like usual, we both went upstairs and Sonata was screaming something from in her room and when we opened the door she was freaking out about something in her closet. While Adagio went and looked in the closet to see what the heck was in there, I had to go over and get Sonata's attention and calm her down, which by the way, took like 15 minutes to do, Adagio didn't help either because she was trying to tell Sonata that nothing was in her closet but it just made Sonata freak out more every time Adagio said the word closet. I'm not sure why but she didn't get the hint and since we couldn't leave her alone for 24 hours in case she had another attack, one of us had to sleep with her and Adagio immediately was like "I can't sleep with her, she kicks and moves around to much, your sleeping with her" before I had a chance to say anything. March 25 We took Sonata to the hospital today because she'd had trouble focusing all day and her doctor told us that it was just an effect of the anxiety attack she'd had and she was still trying to calm herself down. It was kind of scary at first because she'd started crying about having to go to the doctor but once she knew it was nothing serious she calmed down and was fine for the rest of the day, not sure if Adagio really cared though, she hadn't said anything the whole time we were in the doctor's and never said anything afterwards either. I know for one thing that for some reason I felt kind of bad for Sonata because I had no idea what was going through her mind at that time. Adagio stopped reading when she heard footsteps, she got up from her bed and opened the door to see what was going on. When she opened her door, she saw Aria and Sonata going downstairs and figured that Sonata was hungry and Aria was going to give her something to eat. Adagio didn't care, this gave her more time to read and think about what was going on with Aria and Sonata. She closed the door and went back to her bed and skipped a couple pages because the next few were boring, she found a good page and began reading. The dates were also a couple weeks away from the present day. March 27 Sonata had a nightmare last night, her second in consecutive nights, she had one the night before to. She came to sleep with me because once again Adagio shoved her out of the way and told her that she wouldn't help her. I know Adagio hates sleeping with Sonata, but at least help her go back to bed, all she does is tell Sonata the things she's scared of aren't real and then expects her to be able to go to bed on her own when she's clearly terrified to the point where she isn't thinking clearly anymore. I feel bad for her because if I was in that situation where someone told me the thing I'm scared of isn't that big of a deal, I'd probably get even more freaked out to. I want to talk to Adagio about this but I know better than to do that because she'll just bite my head off to and tell me I'm being ridiculous for feeling bad for Sonata. "Well it is dumb that you feel sorry for her Aria, I mean she has to learn sooner or later that not everything she see's on TV that's scary is real. Sometimes I feel like locking her bedroom door at night so she can't get out and go bug Aria for help." Adagio mumbled to herself. Adagio looked up from the diary to glance at the time and saw that it was almost 1:30, she knew it was almost time for her to go downstairs and start cleaning the house and looking for something she could make for supper. She put Aria's diary on her bedside table and went out her door and closed it behind her, so Aria wouldn't see her diary in Adagio's room. She went downstairs to the laundry room and picked up a basket and took it back upstairs to put her dirty clothes in it, Adagio did the laundry but she separated the girls's clothes into separate baskets so it wouldn't get confusing. "Aria! Sonata!" Adagio shouted from her room, she quickly hid Aria's diary in her drawer of her bedside table. "What is it?" Aria asked from Adagio's doorway a couple minutes later, Sonata was there to, but she was standing outside the doorway in the hall beside Aria. "Could you to start getting your dirty clothes together so I can do laundry?" Adagio asked the girls, picking up her basket and moving towards the doorway of her bedroom. "Right now?" Aria asked her sarcastically. "Yes now." Adagio answered, "there's two baskets downstairs on the dryer in the laundry room, each of you grab one and put your dirty clothes in in, ok." Adagio added, telling the girls where the baskets were. "Ok." Sonata said, turning to go get a basket from the laundry room. "Fine." Aria huffed, following Sonata down the stairs. "God she's grumpy, but what else is new, she's always grumpy." Adagio mumbled to herself as she watched Aria and Sonata go downstairs, she went back into her room and continued to put her dirty clothes in the basket that she'd grabbed. BANG! "What's going on down there you two?" Adagio asked, shouting to the girls from her room after hearing the bang that came from downstairs. "We don't need your input right now Adagio." Aria answered, shouting back. Adagio didn't say anything else, she just grabbed her basket of dirty clothes and went downstairs to the laundry room to see what was going on. When she got to the laundry room, she saw that the laundry baskets that were on the washing machine had fallen on the floor and Sonata was sitting on the floor crying and Aria was trying to get her to calm down. Adagio could probably guess what had happened but she thought she'd ask just to be sure. "Aria what happened? Why is Sonata crying?" Adagio asked Aria, setting down her basket of dirty clothes. "What happened was Sonata tried to grab something out of the cupboard above the washing machine and when she brought her hand down she hit in on the side of one of the baskets and they all fell onto her foot and now she's crying." Aria answered, looking over at her shoulder for a second before looking back at Sonata and trying to calm her down. "Did she hurt herself?" Adagio asked again as she stepped into the laundry and knelt down next Aria. "I don't think so, I'm trying to get her to calm down a little bit so I can look." Aria answered, reaching over to grab Sonata's right hand. "Why don't you just look now?" Adagio asked, reaching out for Sonata's left hand before Aria slapped her hand away. "Because, she won't let me, I tried already." Aria answered, looking at Adagio with a grim look on her face. "If she won't let you then that probably means that she hurt herself." Adagio stated, looking back at Aria. "I'll look in a minute." Aria said, turning back to Sonata to calm her down a little more, she'd already calmed her down a little but she wanted her a little bit more calmed down. "Sonata did you hurt yourself?" Aria asked Sonata a couple minutes later. Sonata didn't say anything she just nodded slightly without making eye contact with either Aria or Adagio, she just kept looking down at her right arm. Aria noticed this and gently went to look at Sonata's arm but Sonata pulled away and tried to make her arm impossible to grab. "Let me see." Aria said, allowing Sonata time to accept her request and allowing Aria to look at her arm. Sonata let Aria pull her right arm closer to her so she could see what Sonata had done, when she looked at Sonata's arm she saw a small cut on her arm that was bleeding pretty significantly. When she went to touch it Sonata tried to pull her arm away so Aria told her that she wouldn't touch it if she calmed down. Adagio couldn't see Sonata's arm because Aria's arm was in the way but Aria showed her Sonata's arm and Adagio reached out to touch it but Aria stopped her by grabbing her hand and shaking her head no. "What do you want to do with her?" Adagio asked Aria. "I'll probably take her upstairs to the bathroom and put a bandage on it." Aria answered. "Ok." Adagio said, she stood up and brushed the dust off her pants. "Sonata we're gonna go upstairs so I can put a bandage on your arm." Aria explained to Sonata as she stood up and brushed off her pants. "Carry me." Sonata exclaimed. "Ok come here." Aria said, bending down to pick Sonata up. Aria and Sonata headed upstairs to the bathroom and Adagio put her laundry in the washing machine and turned it on once she put some soap in. When she was done she went back upstairs to her room to continue reading Aria's diary. Adagio went back into her room and closed her bedroom door behind her. She walked over to her bed and grabbed Aria's diary out of the drawer beside her bed, sat down, opened the diary to where she'd left off and continued to read when she found a good spot. April 3 There was a huge thunderstorm that went over the house today that knocked out the power and scared the crap out of Sonata. Adagio wasn't home during the thunderstorm though, she had gone to town to do a few things and said she was going to hang out at the mall until the storm subsided. I tried ignoring Sonata but then she started freaking out really badly and I knew I'd have to do something or she'd start panicking. At first I just told her that nothing would hurt her but then I had to tell her that she was safe in the house because she wouldn't stop freaking out. After the storm stopped she was fine, well... until Adagio watched another scary movie that night and Sonata got scared and came to sleep with me again. Not bothering me though, I mean, Adagio won't help her so I have to, its not like I have a soft side for Sonata or something though, ok, I've said enough already, I'm just going to stop writing now. "Ah, so Aria does secretly like Sonata." Adagio said to herself. She decided to go put the diary back in Aria's room because she'd gotten the answer she was looking for. As Adagio stood up and opened the door with Aria's diary in her hand, Aria and Sonata were coming out of Aria's room. When Aria saw what was in Adagio's hand her facial expression just went dark. She glared at Adagio with this death-like stare, it felt to Adagio as if it was piercing through her skin, even though it wasn't. "YOU READ MY DIARY!" Aria exclaimed, stepping towards Adagio and crossing her arms across her chest. "Aria it's not what it looks like." Adagio said. "Really, because it just looks like you went through all my private thoughts and read my diary and went into my room without permission." Aria stated defiantly. "What's going on?" Sonata asked confusingly from behind Aria. "I'll tell you what's going on. Sonata, did you know that Aria secretly has a soft spot for you but she won't admit it to your face." Adagio explained to Sonata, who was looking at Aria confusingly. "What? I never said that. That isn't true." Aria argued. "Are you sure? Because according to your diary it's true." Adagio said, holding up the diary so Aria could see it. "Ugh! Why did you have to read it?" Aria asked Adagio in an agitated voice. "Because I needed answers for you two's odd behavior all day." Adagio answered, smirking. "Ari." Sonata said quietly. "What do you want now?" Aria asked Sonata, saying it a little more aggressively than she'd originally intended. "Never mind." Sonata said, turning and walking towards her bedroom, looking at the floor while she watched. "It looks like you were right, you don't have a soft side for Sonata." Adagio said, after she'd watched Sonata go into her room and close her bedroom door. "No. I didn't mean for it to sound like that." Aria said, looking towards Sonata's bedroom door. "Oh well what are you going to do?" Adagio asked sarcastically, giving Aria back her diary and walking downstairs to check the laundry. "I'm going to apologize to Sonata and admit to her that I do have a soft spot for her." Aria whispered to herself, putting her diary in her left hand and walking towards Sonata's bedroom. Sonata sat inside her bedroom at the foot of her bed and thought to herself. "I thought she did have a soft spot for me, she's been nice to me all day and mostly all week. Guess I was wrong, as usual." Sonata mumbled to herself, looking around her dark room, she hadn't bothered to turn on the light. Aria stopped outside Sonata's closed bedroom door and hesitated for a while before she knocked. She was going to turn around and forget it but then she looked down at her diary and knew she had to tell Sonata the truth and apologize to her, not just for what she'd just done, but for all the other times she'd been mean to her. She gently knocked on the door and waited a couple minutes for an answer. When no answer came she knocked again, this time more firmly and this time she got an answer. "Who is it?" Sonata asked from inside the room. "It's me." Aria answered as she opened the door and poked her head around the corner, she saw that Sonata was sitting on the floor at the foot of her bed. "Oh, hi." Sonata said, looking away from Aria and back down at the floor. "Sonata I know your probably kind of mad at me, but I need to show you something, and confess something to you." Aria explained to Sonata, opening the door so she could walk into the room, she closed the door behind her, turned on the light and then walked over to where Sonata was sitting. "Fine." Sonata said, continuing to look at the floor. "Can I sit?" Aria asked Sonata. "Yeah." Sonata answered, moving over slightly so Aria could sit down next to her. "Ok. Now Sonata first I want to tell you what I wanted to confess to you." Aria explained to Sonata. "It's ok Ari, I know you don't have a soft spot for me, you just do the things you do for me because Adagio won't. You don't need to tell me that." Sonata stated, resting her chin on her knees, which her pulled tightly to her chest. "No. It's actually the exact opposite of that Sonata. The truth it I do care about you, and I do have a soft side for you, I don't show it all the time though, but most of the time, which is like ninety-five percent of the time, I do show it towards you." Aria explained to Sonata. "But Adagio said you wrote in your diary that you cared about me and you said you didn't." Sonata said. "Yeah your right and as much as it pains me to say this about Adagio, she was right, I did write in my diary that I care about you. She read it write." Aria told Sonata, handing her the diary so she could read a certain page she had bookmarked in the diary, Adagio had some how missed it, which Aria was thankful for, because this page held her deepest thoughts about Sonata. "What are you giving me this for?" Sonata asked confusingly, refusing to take the diary from Aria's hand, pushing away from her. "I want you to read the page I have bookmarked." Aria answered, once again handing Sonata the diary. "Ok." Sonata said, carefully taking the diary from Aria's hand and flipping to the page that was bookmarked, the page was about 15 pages into the diary. She took out the bookmark and began reading it. April 7 Dear diary, today I'm not writing about an event that happened to me during the day, today I'm writing about a very special person in my life, her name is Sonata Dusk and she is one of the things I care about the most in my life. Now I know I used to fight with her all the time and call her the worst like every day, but, that was when we had our pendants, now that we don't have our pendants I just feel like I should just stop being mean to her and be nice to her, after all, she's never actually done anything bad to me so I honestly have no idea why I chose to hate on her so much. But I honestly think it was because I was jealous, I was jealous because she was more caring and passionate about things than I was and I wanted to have that but knew I couldn't because of Adagio, but now I've learned not to listen to Adagio and just go with what I feel is right, not what she feels is right. So I'm going to have to find the right time when I can tell Sonata how I feel about her and apologize to her. I think that's going to be soon because she's been coming to sleep with me every night because of her nightmares. "Sonata I'm sorry I called you all those things when we had our pendants. I know it was wrong and I shouldn't have done that. Would you forgive me?" Aria asked Sonata once Sonata was done reading. "It's ok. I know you were just doing it because of Adagio and yes I forgive you." Sonata answered, leaning over to hug Aria, Aria returned the hug. "Good. Now can we go downstairs and pretend this never happened, I don't want Adagio to find anything out about us." Aria said to Sonata, standing up and brushing off her pants. "Yes we can. Ok that works for me." Sonata explained.
