> Banished > by Silver Inkwell > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Part One > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suddenly the world turned around the sirens when they were banished to another world without any magic by the great and powerful wizard Star Swirl. Suddenly they were no longer in Equestria anymore, but a new different world that was strange and unusual to them, and also quite odd as well. The three of them tumbled to the ground in a pile and Adagio struggled to get up in her new form and shape, and when she did she screamed. “WHAT AM I?” she said in shock and surprise looking at herself. “I have no idea,” Sonata said, “But you look good.” “Shut up you fool! We have to get back to Equestria now, so come on now, stand up and use the magic of the gems to return!” And with that said they all stood on their legs (even if it was a bit wobbly at first as they tried to adapt to their new form/ shape) and they tried to use the magic held inside their gems to create a portal home, but it failed instead. “Why won’t this work?” Adagio screamed in frustration and anger, “It should work.” “Yes it should unless there is the ever slightly small chance that the wizard was telling the truth to us, and if he did, do you really think that we’re without magic?” Sonata said. “Well of course not! My gem still activated, that must mean there’s some magic, even if it is weak, but come now girls, let’s see if we can cause some trouble here,” and with that said the group followed after her. Soon enough they realized that they had no idea where they were going or for that matter anything else that pertained to this world, but they could all clearly tell that it was evening time in this world now. “Do you think that anyone will be awake, or even here?” Sonata said. “Maybe,” Adagio said, “But I don’t really know now do I? I mean it’s not like any of us have ever visited a world that’s completely different and separate from our own now? Because if we did that would be both crazy and nice to know right now.” And with that said they went on until Sonata spoke up once more again. “I’m hungry,” she said, “Can we go get something to eat?” “No, we’re going to try to find some magic to get us back home!” Adagio screamed loudly, “And if anyone has an objection to that speak up now!” The group remained silent and she smiled, “Good then, let us continue on then,” and with that said they went on in search of magic. Well at least they did until Sonata finally smelled some delicious food. “WAIT, STOP!” she shouted, “I SMELL SOME FOOD!” “Sonata,” Adagio growled angrily, “Don’t get distracted away from the mission or goal, we have to find magic, food can come later.” “No,” she said, “Magic can come later, the food might not stay.” “Fine then, get some food if you can and then we’ll move on.” And with that said Sonata rushed over to the food cart in a hurry before Adagio changed her mind and could object. “Hey there,” she said, “What’s on the menu today?” “Well,” the man said, “We have some tacos here if you want to try them out.” “How much for them?” she asked (since he was alone and therefore could not use her magic to cause a fight or persuade him otherwise, and also just because she was curious about what the currency of this land could be). “Well for the first one it’s free and on the house, after that it will be five bucks for one and ten for two.” “Alright then,” Sonata said, “I’ll tale one for free then, and I also would assume that this ‘bucks’ is the currency of the land?” “Well yeah,” he said, “But they’re more of ‘Dollars’ and not real Deer if that’s what you’re thinking about, and say, you look new around here, where are you girls from exactly?” “Where from Equestria,” she said hoping he would recognize the name. “Hmmm… well I can’t say that I have ever heard of that before, but anyways here’s your free taco, I hope that you don’t just like it but love it instead.” And with that said he handed Sonata the delicious food called ‘taco’ and then she took a bite out of it as her eyes lit up. “Oh my gosh,” she said between bites, “I really do like and love it, in fact I think that I rather enjoy it, it’s just a shame that we don’t have any money.” “No money?” the man said, “Well then, I guess that’s your last taco for now, come back when and if you have any money, I’ll still be open by then.” And with that said the man closed up his shop very slowly ignoring the girls just outside of his food cart as they continued to talk quietly. “Well you have your food now; can we continue our search now?” Adagio said. “Yes,” she said still taking bites out of it, “But I don’t think that we will have any if much luck at all.” “Why is that exactly?” Adagio said. “Because my gem felt weak when we got here, and this world’s magic could be very different from our own making it impossible for us to harvest, or perhaps maybe the magic is just weaker in general.” “Perhaps,” Adagio said, “But we’ll take what we can get, come on girls, we have a long way to go if we ever want revenge on that wizard.” And so they began their quest of trying to find a way back home (with much failure and disappointment lined up along the way for them) and Sonata on the other hand began her lifelong weird crazy obsession over the food called ‘tacos’. And so their banishment was not a happy one (as most should be). > Part Two > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- And so they wandered around the lands until Adagio stopped them. “I feel like that this is a very much different time,” she said. “What do you mean?” the others said. “I think that we might be in the future, it feels very different.” “What do you mean?” they said. “I think that we didn’t come out when we should have.” “So if that’s true then what could possibly be the reason for this?” “Fate, I don’t really know, but come on girls, let’s go.” And with that said they wandered around until they found a store or shop called Sugarcube Corner, and then they went inside. “Well hello there, girls,” Mrs. Cake said, “How are you tonight?” “Not well, we’re very far away from home and lost,” Sonata said. “Oh dear, well where is your home exactly?” “Equestria, have you ever heard of it? Sonata said curiously. “No, I’m afraid not, but you shouldn’t be out this late anyways, I mean don’t you have any parents or at least someone to look out for you?” “No, we don’t, we have no parents or anybody,” Sonata said, “We have no one but ourselves, and that’s all that we need, right girls?” “Yes,” they both said at once, but Mrs. Cake shook her head. “Oh no, oh dear, this simply cannot be, you should have someone to look out after for you, I just wish that I could, but I can’t without legal legislation and law and the approval of authority, but for now I guess that you can stay here.” “Thanks a lot,” Adagio said, “But we don’t need your help and we can’t accept it either, and besides, we don’t have anything to ever repay you with.” “Oh don’t be silly,” she said, “I can’t leave you children all alone at night, but don’t worry, you’ll be fine now, so just stay here and rest please, and by the way, I never got your names, mine is Mrs. Cake, but what are yours?” “Adagio,” she said, “And this is Aria and Sonata,” she said pointing at them. “We can speak for ourselves you know,” Aria said, “And perhaps maybe just for once in your very long life you can listen to us, or rather me to be specific.” “Aria, we’ve talked about this before, I am in charge here.” “If by talk you mean avoided the topic, then yes, we did, but we never ‘talk’ about anything anymore ever since you took over,” Aria said. “It seems like you girls have some issues to sort out, but just wait right here and I’ll be right back with my husband,” Mrs. Cake said as she left. “The reason I took over is because I am the oldest here,” she said. “And the smartest and wisest and best, yeah, we know that,” Aria said. “Are you complaining? Because if you are then I don’t like it.” “Oh trust me, you would know if I was complaining about anything, or rather to be more specific, something, but trust me, I haven’t even started yet.” “Aria, so help me I will kill you if you ever try to take control again.:” “Yeah, whatever,” she said just shrugging it off. “Well fine then, act that way, be that way, I don’t care, whatever, but what we do need is an anatomy book so that we know what these are called,” she said moving her fingers, “I am very uncomfortable in this new body of mind.” “Yeah, you’re one to talk, how do you think that we feel?” Aria said. “Those tacos were delicious…” Sonata said to herself. “Girls! Pleas just focus! We need a home and a place to feed off of magic, and I think that Mrs. Cake will be the key and way to get what we want.” “How so?” they said. “This is a shop or store, and I think that if we ask we can find out if it is ‘popular’ or not, and if it is, this will be a very good place to be.” “Oh, well then, that is a very good idea, for once at least,” Aria said. “What do you ever mean by that exactly?” Adagio said. “Going to Ponyville, that was a bad choice, especially when you knew that the princess was currently there, and not to mention that old wizard.” “He was not a part of my calculations, a variable, a mistake that won’t ever be repeated again, and I’m sorry that we’re stuck here now, but there’s nothing to do except go through it and collect magic to get back home once more again.” “But he said that there was no magic here, what if he’s telling the truth?” “If the wizard was telling the truth then we’ll just have to find another way back so that we can kill him,” Adagio said with a very deep low growl. “Okay girls, I’m back,” Mrs. Cake said bringing her husband along with her, “Is everything alright and fine? I thought that I heard arguing back here.” “Everything is just fine,” Adagio said standing up and using her magic to manipulate her memory, “You heard nothing, and everything is just fine,” “Alright, fine then,” Mrs. Cake said, “But would you girls like anything at all?” “Tacos!” Sonata said blissfully ignorant that it was a candy shop or store. “Oh sorry dear, we only have sweets here,” Mrs. Cake said smiling. “That’s okay then, give me whatever you recommend then.” “Alright then, I guess that I’ll give you whatever I like and love then.” And with that said she went to the display counter and got some chocolate and then brought it to them, “Anything else that you need?” “Yes, an anatomy book,” Adagio said, “Do you have one.” “Oh goodness me, no, and I don’t think that I have ever gotten that request before, but there is an excellent library at Canterlot High School and also Crystal Prep, but speaking of school, are you girls in it?” “No, do we need to be?” Adagio said. “Oh yes, you do,” Mrs. Cake said, “Oh my, this is much worse than I thought.” “Trust me, what you thought wouldn’t ever compare,” Adagio said. “I’m sure that it would, but I think that I may know someone who can take you in, isn’t that so very lucky for you girls?” Mrs. Cake said very happily. “Sure thing,” Adagio said sarcastically, she didn’t care for their new ‘home’, they all wanted to go to their real true home back in Equestria, but they couldn’t since she had detected weak magic coming from this whole entire place and possibly world, obviously it would never be enough to get back home again. And then soon enough Mrs. Cake came back to them again. “She said yes!’ she said, “I can’t actually believe it!” “Who said yes exactly?” they said. “Cadence did, from Crystal Prep, she’ll look after you until you can get back on your feet again, and she’ll give you everything that you could need there.” “Oh good,” Adagio said very sarcastically. “I know, right?” Mrs. Cake said, and then with that said she waited for Cadence to come, and soon enough she did come and took them away. “Bye girls! Come back soon to talk! Our store is always open to you!” And with that said Cadence drove them over to her home and showed them around, “Now then, a few rules until the papers come in to make this legal, one, no staying out or up after ten for weekdays, and twelve for the weekends. Number two, you are to go here to this school to determine what you need to learn and what you already have, number three, even though you can explore the city, I would highly recommend and advise you not to without me. And that’s about it basically, but do be warned, I am a very early riser for school, and by the way, here’s the anatomy book you requested for some reason, I mean I don’t know why, but who am I to judge?” And with that said she left and Adagio quickly went through the book, “This is very interesting,” she said, “These humans have no horns or wings, ever at all, and no magic, they seem even weaker than the ponies back home.” “But are they?” Aria said as Sonata read through it. “I would guess so, their auras certainly seemed weak, but come on now girls, we have gotten through worse before, and we can do it again, together.” “But what if we can’t? What if we’re stuck here in this miserable horrible land?” Aria said pouting to herself as she lay in bed in the room that they were given by Cadence who seemed very nice and kind and generous as well too. “Then we’ll just have to get through this together, and we can and will, we may be banished from Equestria, but no matter what we will always have each other, and no matter what you do, I will always still have you too.” And with that said they smiled, and then eventually went to sleep in their exile.
