As the loser of the race he was now obliged to buy her dinner, as was agreed before the race. The stallion had been worrying ever since he lost. He had no clue what kind of food Rainbow Dash enjoyed, and in turn had no idea where to bring her. Should he take her to a fancy restaurant or a small hay burger joint. He wanted to make a good impression, but didn't know what to do. He decided to ask his best friend and teammate, Spitfire, for a suggestion. She looked at the baby blue stallion with a sly smile. "I didn't know you had a thing for Rainbow." she said, trying to tease more details out of the stallion."When did all this start?". Soarin blushed slightly. "Well ever since she saved our lives at the young fliers competition, she's been on my radar. And each of the times we've met, she's just become more attractive." the stallion said, his face fully red now. The yellow mare looked at her friend. "Well I think the best idea might be to ask her where she would like to go, you goofball." she said laughing. The stallion looked blankly at the yellow pegasus. "I never thought of that." he said."I guess that works.". He got up to go see Rainbow Dash, but felt a hoof grab his hind leg. He turned to see Spitfire holding him. "Let me know how your date goes." she said with a grin. Soarin yanked his hind leg free of her grasp. "It's not a date Spitfire, it's the wager of a lost bet." he said. The mare looked at him. "I know, but who's to say you didn't lose on purpose." she said. Soarin stormed out of the room, his face still red. *** Soarin walked through Ponyville town square. He had went to Rainbow Dash's house, but she wasn't there. He decided to look for her in the town. He had been walking for about five minutes when he bumped into a light yellow mare. She had a small bunny sitting on her back. "Oh my, I'm so sorry mister. I mustn't have been looking where I was going." she said glancing at the stallion. A sudden realisation appeared in her eyes."Oh my, you're Soarin the wonderbolt." she said softly. The stallion looked at her. "Yes I am." he said."And if I'm not mistaken, you're one of Rainbow Dash's friends.". The pegasus beamed. "I'm Fluttershy." she said quietly. The two stood in silence for a moment. Soarin decided to speak. "You haven't seen her around, have you?" he asked the pale yellow pegasus. She shook her head. "No, sorry. I haven't seen her at all today." she said."Did you need to ask her something?" the msre inquired. Soarin bushed his hoof against the ground. "Yeah, I was gonna ask where she would like to go for dinner." he said. The mare smiled at him. "Well I don't know what restaurants she likes, but I do know she loves having dinner up on the clouds, watching the sunset." the pegasus said meekly. A thought came to Soarin. He gave the mare a hug. "You just gave me a great idea." he said."Thank you." he said running off in the opposite direction. The pale yellow pegasus watched as he left. *** Soarin led Rainbiw Dash up into the clouds. He had his hooves placed over her eyes so she couldn't see where they were going. Rainbow Dash had a grin on her face. "Where are we going Soarin?" she asked the stallion who was leading her through the sky. "It's a suprise." he said with a goofy grin on his face. The two pegasi came out to a clearing in the clouds. Soarin removed his hooves, giving Rainbow Dash the ability to see again. The sight before her left her in awe. A large cloud was ser out from the other. On it was a large blanket with a picnic basket. She turned to look at Soarin. "This is amazing." she said giving him a hug. Soarin blushed profoundly. They went over and sat down. Soarin pulled two hay fry sandwichs out of the basket. He placed them on two plates and handed one to Rainbow Dash. He then pulled out two bottles of Sweet Apple Acres cider and gave her one. Rainbow Dash bit into her sandwich. "This is the best sandwich I have ever eaten." she said, pausing to take a sip of cider. The two sat and enjoyed their sandwichs and cider."That was amazing Soarin." Rainbow Dash said after finishing her sandwich. Soarin only smiled. He then prodiced two apple pies from the basket. Rainbow Dash grinned at him."I should have known you would have brought some pies." she said laughing."This dinner has been perfect, thank you Soarin." the mare said giving him a peck on the cheek. Soarin's face was a red as an apple. "It gets better." he said, pointing behind her. Rainbow Dash turned to see the most beautiful sunset. She stared for at the descending sun for a few moments before turning back to the stallion. He however was not looking at the setting sun, but at the cyan mare. She looked deeply into his emerald eyes. He had really went all out for this dinner. She leaned over to him. "I think this deserves something a bit better." she said kissing the stallion on his lips. The two stayed locked in the kiss for what seemed like an enternity to Soarin. Eventually Rainbow Dash broke the kiss."Thank you Soarin.". The two then cuddled up together to watch Celestia's sun set over Equestria.
