Him who walked alone

A immortal being, walking, observing, always there. He lived through civilisation, always watching and never stopping. Not a lot noticed him and his life was pretty boring. Until he found them.

He had walked and observed everything. He learned all about everything but no one learned more than what he looks like. He goes unoticed by most as he see every single thing, living or not. He has many names. Watcher, Walker, The great immortal. They are not his real name. They were given to him by those who saw him.

Walking through time and civilisations

View Online

I'm walking, like always. I have always walked and for the rest of my boringly long life, I will walk. The usual routine: wake up, walk, see something interesting and observe for a while, then go back to walking before going to sleep. I don't even need to sleep, I just do it because most species I met need to sleep and it pass the time. You can't imagine how boring walking all day every day for years without end can be.

Observing is also fun. Watching and learning new things is good. I also read to pass the time. I read everything, literally. It doesn't take me a long time to finish a book and my brain cannot forget anything. Seriously, I still remember a little girl named Zurrata who gave me a special type of flower because I helped her with something thirteen point five billion years ago. It wasn't important, but I remembered.

I'm currently walking through a small town in Canada. I believe the year is 2234, but then again, I've always been bad at knowing what time it was. When you live as long as me, time doesn't really matter.

I like how, around the year 2000, humans though the sun still had a lot time left before blowing up. Silly humans, you can't understand a solar anomaly with 'science'. You have to visit other solar system first and humans had this strange thing they always did. They think that in the following years, something great will be invented, yet the create problems that will slow them down.

The streets were empty, the lights of the houses were turned off. Everyone was hiding, the whole world was hiding. It was useless, those who understood that were partying their lives away. Literally. The reason for that? They were doomed. The planet earth was going to die in a blazing fire. The sun would explode and extinguish all life.

The sun was also gonna come back. I don't know how and I don't know why. It always came back. After all, it wasn't the first time such an event happened. Human's thought they were the first intelligent creatures walking this planet. They were wrong. Our solar system was an anomaly. It lived, it died and it came back, creating a new and different sapient specie. And they always thought they were the first.

I was the exception that made the rule. I always survive the rebirth of the solar system. Yet, I'm sure that I wasn't the first. Something was alive before me, I just never seen nor heard about them. Strangely, I adapt. When a rebirth happens, I fall asleep and when I wake up, I am whatever new creature would exist on this new, but incredibly old planet. Even if it takes them thousands of years, I am one of them since day one.

For most living creature, I'm just another face out in the crowd. However, there always was those who saw more than the rest. I remembered that one group of human who saw me walking on water. Truth be told, I just swam a couple of minutes and found a really big rock and I walked on it for a while before swimming back to land.

Later that week, there was rumor about the son of god who was seen walking on water. I don't know where they came from.

The civilisation who existed before humans also and myths about me. The Zaard called me Watcher, because they often saw me observing animals, plants and other wonders of our strange world. The Hunniu called me Walker. Since their world wasn't that different from the Zaard's world, I spent most of my time walking, searching for new and interesting things.

For humans, I am Jesus. Or was since most of them didn't recognize me as the son of god and in 2127, religion became nothing more then those small groups of strange people who said that everything was better back in the old days.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

It was now time. The sun was going to die in a few minutes and everybody on the planet knew it. Humans were actually the first to understand what was happening. The Sirv had a way to save the sun, and they would have survived had they known the sun was going to die.

I stood on the hill, unmoving and watching the horizon. It was evening here in Canada but with how bright the giant orbiting ball of fire had become, nothing was dark. Some inhabitant came out of there home, probably feeling that the end was near. More came to stand next to me on the hill. After two or three minutes, the entire town was there, watching the end of the world. No one was making a sound.

Suddenly, a giant and extremely bright flash of light exploded at the horizon. The town erupted into screams of terror as the temperature quickly went up. After a minute of heat waves hitting us, a few houses, the poorest one, caught on fire.

People already died, too scared to wait until the end and shooting their family and themselves with guns. I was surprised those weapons still work with the intense heat that was still rising.

Some time passed, more people died. I was now alone on the hill again. A second flash of light. A third. Fourth and fifth. I was now sure that over seventy percent of humans population had died. The rest were the foolish and rich ones who uselessly hoped to survive while hiding in bunkers. Even if they survived the heat, they would not survive the planet blowing up.

After another hour of intense heat, I felt weak. I knew the end was soon. I would fall asleep and wake up as something else.

It blew up.

I blacked out.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

I woke up in a green forest. Looking around me I saw strange plants and heard strange sound that probably belonged to new kinds of birds. This rebirth was already interesting.

As I looked at everything around me, I slowly tried to get up, not wanting to scare the new creatures away. I noticed that the trees were taller then I remembered. Or maybe I was the one shorter? I looked I myself and saw four legs. So I was now a quadruped. An equine, a horse. Or is it called something else here?

I walked a bit, trying to find a river or a lake to see what I looked like. After a while, I found a small lake with a deer drinking water. It seems that those creature could not die since it wasn't the first world where I saw them. It also seems like this world was a lot more evolved then I thought it would be. I thought there would only be particules or small aquatic fish-looking being. Or maybe I just overslept.

As I looked in the water, I saw my reflection. I had a chestnut-brown coat with a black mane and my eyes were dark blue.

I then kept on walking. It seemed that I was gifted with the ability to correctly walk as a quadruped. Since it was my first time as one, I just assume some kind of strange outside force gave me the needed knowledge. Probably the same outside force that changed me into whatever the dominant specie of each new world was.

Well, it was that time again. The time to explore.

A chase often leads to meeting new people... right?

View Online

Years have passed since I woke up into this new world. I've discovered quite a lot of things during my journey around the world. For example, creature that the human race considered as mythology like griffin, hydras and sphinx exist here. How ironic...

Another thing is the strange mark on both of my flanks picturing the world. I literally had a planet on my butt. It was also moving, or at least the clouds were. I did noticed that at someplace in the world, the clouds were moving in a irregular pattern. Like something or someone was controlling them. Quite strange if you asked me. Sadly, I've yet to visit that place since there was just so much new things to explore and see!

I also found the fact that I could grow wings! Or a horn. Never the two at the same time which is a shame, but it was still awesome. Sadly, I did not know how to fly and my horn seemed pretty useless. I tried poking things with it but it seems that the horn itself is quite sensitive and that experiment only ended up in pain. I think that pain is the only thing I can't tolerate, and in my long life, I have seen a lot of stupid things that would make a normal living being explode in rage. Actually, pain and nobles are the things I can't stand. The majority of nobles from practically every specie ever are self-centered prick.

I sadly have met no others like me. I met griffins and two or three minautors but no horses. I was still determined on finding them because if I was one, there must be others.

Little did I know that I was about to make a very important discovery.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

I had been walking in a forest for three days now, finding two new avian species and one new type of plant. A carnivorous plant. That actually eats people. Like horses. I was a bit scared because while I could not die from anything (if being blown up by the sun and coming back to life wasn't clear enough), pain was still something I could feel. I am pretty sure that being eaten alive is not pain free and I do not wish to experience that.

As I kept walking in the forest, still looking for new things I heard a something behind me. I as turned around, the creature growled at me. I understood that it was agressive and talking would do nothing useful. I was now looking at it, or rather I was looking at them. a pack of six wolves, all of them made of wood and leaves and bigger than me. The bigger one, probably the alpha, was a good five or six meters high.

I slowly started to back away from them, a small step backward after the other, hoping to gain whatever distance I could before the inevitable chase through the forest. Unfortunately, one of the smaller one, he probably got just old enough the hunt with the pack, saw me. He let out a bark and a growl at me, signaling the others about what I was trying to do. As the alpha took one step towards me, I turned around and ran, hoping to escape the pain that being torn apart by giant wolves would bring.

The forest floor and the trees were not helping me. I, unlike the predators behind me, was used to slowly walking and never looking exactly where I put my feet. Well, today it's my hooves but still. While I had a lot of practice when it came to running away from dangerous creature, the human world made me a little lazy. They always tried to make everything as safe as possible, killing a lot of the dangerous predator. That did not help me stay in shape at all.

Jump over a root, roll under the second one and try to not trip on the fallen tree branch as you get up. And no matter what you do, KEEP RUNNING!

The wolves were gaining on me. I mean, it's kind of obvious that they would but I was hoping for a bit more time. I saw one in the corner of my eye, running and from time to time, looking at me. While I was looking at him, I didn't see the tree's root and tripped, sending me rolling down a hill. The wooden giants jumped and slides down to follow me after a small moment of hesitation.

I got on my hooves and restarted running. This time, I could feel one of the wolves right behind me. Suddenly, there was no trees anymore. I could see the blue sky in all of it's glory with clouds and the giant flaming ball of death than brings so much diversity in my life. There was also no more ground and I was falling. A bit panicked, I looked behind me only to see that the wooden wolves stopped chasing me. They were simply standing at the edge of the pit, looking at me go down. I then proceeded to look down ans I saw a lake. A small and seemingly rocky lake under a waterfall.

This was going to hurt.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

I swam out of the water, my body slowly healed itself and closed the wounds and the big hole I had in my stomach. Turns out a 40 meters fall into a lake with lots of big and sharp rocks is a bad idea if your primary goal is to avoid pain. The water of the river next to the lake was red because of how much blood I lost. I was really lucky that my injuries healed themselves faster than any normal being, it wouldn't be fun to walk around with a bleeding hole in my stomach. A long, LONG time ago, when I became a agressive creature's meal, I discovered that I don't need blood to stay alive. If I lose 90% of it I pass out but otherwise I'm completely fine.

As I did a combination of walking and crawling to get away from the body of water, I heard someone talk.

"Who are you? What are you doing here and how did you survive that fall?" Asked the mysterious voice.

"I'm just a traveler passing through. I fell because a bunch of wolves chased and tried to eat me," I answered. "Can I turn around? Or are you just going to attack me if I do?"

"You didn't answered my question! And yes, you can turn around, I won't try to harm you."

When I turned to look at who I was talking to, a saw a small and white and pink manned filly with a another smaller and blue filly cowering behind. I couldn't believe it, after six years of searching I finally found another one, or rather two other ones, like me.

"To answer your question, It takes a lot to kill me and injuries don't like me, so they go away extremely quickly. My turn now, what do two little fillies like you are doing all alone here?"

"Are you trying to say we can take care of ourselves?" Shouted the white one. She seemed like the older sister, if both of them were sisters that is.

I quickly corrected her "oh no, I'm not implying that at all, I was just wondering if there was more... horses like us nearby."

"Horses? I thought we were ponies? At least that's what the others said," answered the blue 'pony'.

"Luna's right mister. We're ponies. And my name is Celestia, this is my sister. Say hello Luna." Said Celestia. Shyly, the younger sister obeyed and said a cute but practically inaudible "hello mister."

"Well hello Luna, hello Celestia! Could I perhaps sleep at your side tonight? It's the first time I see other ponies and I'd like to talk more with you but the sun is already going down."

"Sure you can! Us ponies have to stay united against all the predators out there ready to eat us. But tomorrow, you have to answer questions alright?" said Celestia.

"Sure why not? We can ask and answers each other's question! I have some of my own that I have been dying for some answers."

I then looked at both of their faces only to see a look of horror. I then clarified :

"Not literally dying of course, it's a figure of speech."

Talking with sun and moon

View Online

I jolted awake, sitting strait and panting from my dream. It was something I often saw while asleep, images flashing of all the times I was suppose to have died. Ripped appart, crushed, stabbed, decapitated, burned alive and many more horrible ways of ending a mortal's life. But I lived on, always surviving and I kept going, even if I knew that my life was never going to end. Humans and other civilisations before them wanted immortality. They assumed the with eternal life, you automatically have powers that can help you rule the world or something as incredible. The truth was way darker then that. In immortality, you only had yourself, everyone else just dies, leaving you with a broken soul to walk the earth until the end of time

That was a reason why I didn't like talking with sapiens species. Most of the time they want to be your friend and if they succeed, I lose them and another part of my already broken and damaged soul. I was already regretting staying for the night with the two fillies. They would try to stay with me, forging a bond, and in the end, that bond would only hurt me.

I stood up, having now calmed down from my nightmare. I decided to go for a walk around the lake in hope to clear my head. I needed a way to leave Celestia and Luna without hurting them. Maybe I should tell them the truth about what I am. It would certainly be easier to have the two understand why they would never see me again in their life.

I was now standing still outside the cave, observing the lake and the waterfall with the trees far above. I could see a path, leading outside of the giant pit the girls call home. That was exactly what it was, their home. It wasn't mine and I couldn't stay here. I didn't like to stay in the same place for more than two or three days anyway. Maybe if I played my cards right I could get them to come with...

NO! They were not following me! I was sick and tired of being heartbroken every time one of my friends left me! I should just leave in the night. It would spare me the need to chose whether they can follow me or not. With my new plan of action, I started trotting farder away from the cave, hoping to not wake one of..

"Are you already leaving us?" Asked a small voice being me.

I abruptly stopped, raising my head and ears to listen if the voice talked again. I almost missed it because of the noise coming from the waterfall. It sounded a bit scared, afraid of what my reaction would be now that I knew one of the two sisters was awake.

"Please, don't leave us so soon, you promised to answer my sister's questions after the night." Said the voice. I now knew that young Luna was the one who stopped me. And it was true, I did promise to Celestia. I never broke any of my promises before, why should I start now?

Turning around to face the youngest of the two fillies, I answered "I'm not leaving yet Luna, I... just needed to think about things to try and take the best decision for everyone,". Now facing her, the regret on my face for what I had almost done was clear. "I had a long and difficult life Luna, choices regarding certain matters are hard to make. I do not want to break my promise to your sister nor do I want to hurt you by leaving to quickly, but I also want to save myself from the pain of leaving you both if we become friends."

"But do you really need to leave? Can't you just stay here with us? Or.. or maybe we could come with you! Follow you and not leave each other! Just please... stay with us a bit more time, please," pleaded the little filly. "We have been alone for over two years now and we feel so alone. Even Celestia, I know she tries to stay strong to help me, to show me that we can survive without other ponies but..." she stopped talking, yet her message was as clear as crystal. They were alone. So alone and even if they have each other, there is no one else to talk to or to interact with.

Just like me.

I walked back towards the cave, a determined look on my face. I was not let them suffer like I did when I was young, scared and alone. I was going to stay and help them. Sure, I won't be able to find new things if I'm stuck in one place. But to help two fillies? The decision was easy to take. "Come Luna, let's go back to sleep, we'll talk more tomorrow."

"So you're staying?" Asked the now excited blue filly.

I quickly answered before she got too excited and energetic to go to sleep "We'll see what your sister has to say about it, then I'll take the decision. By the way, how did you wake up? I made sure to not make any noise when leaving the cave."

"I sensed something bad when I was asleep," casually said Luna. "When i woke up, I saw you panicked in your bed and a minute or two after you left the cave. The weird feeling was coming from you, so I came out to try and help."

A weird feeling coming from me? It seems she knows when others have nightmares. Strange... I'll ask about it in the morning, when we are all awake and ready to answer each others' questions.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

I woke up again, this time not in complete panic. I notice the Luna is still asleep on her bed of leaves but her older sister is nowhere to be seen. I slowly got up, trying to not make too much noise and let the blue filly sleep, she needed it after last night's talk. When I was out of the small cave, I saw Celestia coming back from somewhere with a basquet full of fruits. When she dropped the basquet near the cave's entrance, I saw something I didn't notice before.

"Wait, you have a horn AND a pair of wings? How is that even possible?"

"You didn't see them before?" asked the white filly. "How did you not see something as obvious as my wings? Even my sister has both wings and horn."

"Well I was pretty injured yesterday so my vision was kind of foggy and I didn't see Luna's in the middle of the night because of her coat colors."

"Wait," said Celestia. "Why was Luna awake in the middle of the night? You didn't wake her up did you?" she was now agressive. I now see just how protective of her younger sister she really was.

I quickly reassured her "no no, she somehow sensed I was having a bad dream and she comforted me. She was really helpful since she stopped me from making a choice I would have regretted."

"Ok yeah, she can feel it when I have nightmares and helped me multiple times to get over them. Apparently it doesn't only work on me. My little sister is awesome like that," she relaxed. "Can we start with the questions now?"

"We should wait for Luna in case she has some of her own."

"Good idea, here, eat a bit. I'll save some for when my sister wakes up," added Celestia, giving me some berries and an apple.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Eventually, the younger sister woke up and joined us to eat breakfast. When we were finished, Celestia asked the first question.

"So who are you really? You just falls out of nowhere, survive deadly injuries and when you woke up, you didn't have any injuries! How is it even possible for a living being to heal that fast?"

I sighed. I rarely told anyone about what I really was, but I also rarely lied about anything. It seems I now had to do one of the two to answer the curious filly's question. I didn't have time to create a good lie, so the choice was obvious. "I'm going to tell you two something not a lot knew about me. It's really personal, so please, don't tell any one about it unless I give you permission," I looked at them, their wide eyes and eager nod were the signes I needed to continue. "I am immortal, I survived the fall because it is impossible for me to die. I have walked upon many worlds and seen many things. That is why I wanted to leave last night Luna, I wasn't ready to become your friend and see you pass away while I still live on. It has happened to many times already. My turn now. How do you two have both wings and a horn?"

Luna was almost crying while Celestia was thoughtful. She than answered "we don't know, one day, I woke up with both appendage and no memory. Two years later, I found Luna asleep in this cave and we stayed here ever since."

"Maybe I could stay with you a bit, us loners have to stick together right?" As said while asking for the white filly's approval. Suddenly, Luna talked and what she said surprised both her older sister and me.

"I saw Celestia die."

"WH AT?"

"WHAT!"

"What do you mean she died?"

"What do you mean you saw me die?"

Both me shouted, then immediately turned to look at each other. Luna took our surprise at the opportunities to continue. "Two weeks ago, Celestia went away to collect fruits and I followed you in an attempt to prove to I was strong enough to go out there. After a while, I heard wolves so I hid to avoid being noticed. While hiding in the small hole of a tree, I saw you run pass me, unfortunately, a big wolf jumped on you and tore you to pieces. As soon as they were gone, I ran home and cried. Until you came back with fruits acting like nothing happened."

I stared at Celestia, not willing to believe it. Yet the facts pointed towards the same conclusion. "If Celestia is an immortal, and Luna the only one with both wings and horn like Celestia, is Luna immortal as well?"

"Maybe, probably, I don't know?" It seems that the older sister was as confused as I was. But if it was true, then maybe I wouldn't be so alone anymore.

"So if we are all immortal like you, will you stay with us?" Asked Luna, eyes full of hope waiting for my answer.

I smiled ans said "yes Luna, I'll stay with you."

Departure and adventures

"Is everything ready?"

Luna, her sister and I were currently getting to leave the cave. We were packing food, water and anything we found remotely useful to take with us. The younger sister even had a small pointy stick 'to defend us against evil monsters that wants to eat us'. I found it adorable and it wasn't like Luna was going to be the one fighting if we encountered agressive creatures.

"So," i asked while looking at Celestia, "tell me, what do you do if we are attacked?"

"We went over the plan a doze time already! I know it by heart and so does Luna. Why do I have to repeat it another time?" Whined the white filly, clearly annoyed by how much I went over the safety details of our trip.

"Well Tia, it's ok if I call you Tia right? Even if you know something by heart you still have to repeat it over and over again because no one has a perfect memory. I have lived for a very long time and I've seen too many suffer because of my carelessness. Now that I know I won't be alone anymore, I don't want to watch you two suffer," I answered with a pained look on my face. "My heart couldn't take the pain."

"Ok fine, I'll say it again," said Celestia, looking a bit guilty at the fact that I had to remember bad memories to get her to cooperate. "And yes, you can call me Tia. But only if you find a nickname for Luna as well! And didn't you say that it is impossible for you to forget something?"

"I am the exception that makes the rule Tia. Hey Luna, how does Lulu sounds for a nickname?" I asked, hoping for the small blue filly to like my awesome naming abilities.

"I like it!" Said 'Lulu' still as cute as ever. "Thank you walker." Walker was the name I had given them since my real name has yet to be translated into their language. Every time a re-birth happens, I have to go out of my way to translate my birth name into the new official language.

"Ok, so if we get attacked, I take Luna with me and us two find a safe hiding place somewhere while you deal with whatever is being to agressive. Then you come back to find us using that weird magical map of yours and we continue our way. Talking about the map, just where did you find it?" Said Celestia while rolling her eyes.

I shivered as I recalled the events that led me to possessing the map, which only showed places you already explored and showed you were the other similar map was. I had give. The other one to the two sisters in case we got separated and needed to find each other. "Well let's just say it was a really weird meeting with a really strange and confusing being. Maybe if we're lucky you two will have the chance of meeting him. Anyway, now that we're all ready, let's go!"

We left the cave, looking for adventure.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

It has been an hour since we were able to wake Luna up. The little filly was such a heavy sleeper she could sleep through a earthquake and not be affected by the ultimate waking up technique : the glass of water.

In that hour, we ate breakfast, walked and observed multiple things. Basically, the usual. We left a chain of mountains three days ago and were now going through a gigantic field that was almost completely empty. Well... when I say ALMOST empty...

"What a random place for a tree," said the smoll white filly. And it was true, the tree was in the middle of nowhere by itself. No other tree or other kind of plants could be seen anywhere near our location. If that wasn't weird enough, it had only one small apple. A small, bright and rainbow striped apple. Sadly, the tree was too tall and the lowest branches were too high for me to pick it up.

"Woah," said Luna, mesmerized by the colorful fruit. "What is that?"

"Well Lulu, it looks like an apple!" I answered. "But it's really small and it's so full of color that not all of them have names. I wonder how it taste. Unfortunately the fruit is too high for me too pick up. Better luck next time!"

"Wait," said Celestia while crouching a bit. "Let me try." She then produced light from her horn. It was the first time I ever saw the pointy bone-head be actually useful. To my amazement, the rainbow fruit became brighter and brighter before slowly floating down towards us. Tia 'levitated' it into my waiting hoof than dropped on the ground, seemingly tired for... Whatever she just do.

Curious about the whole thing, I asked "What was that?" While taking a small bite out of the apple. "Mmmmh! This is delicious! C'mon, try it Lulu."

I handed... Hoofed? the fruit the younger sister who took a bite. She than took another and was about to take a third one before I stopped her and gave the fruit to and exhausted Celestia. The older sister took the final bite and threw the apple away before jumping onto her hooves.

"Wow! I'm full of energy. It's like I was never tired at all, I could probably run forever now!" Said the not-so-tired-filly. "And to answer your question Walker, that was magic."

"Magic?"

"Magic."

Both Luna and I looked at each other before smiling and turning back towards a confused looking Tia. We both said at the same time:

"Teach us!!"

"Ah dammit." Sighed The white filly.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

The sun was setting down. It was hard to see, mainly because most of the sky was covered by dark storm clouds. We were hiding from the rain under a big tree with lots of large leaves covering us. I already finished the two fillies' bed and was currently making mine using the leaves and vegetation all around our little camp.

Celestia was lying in her bed, trying to fall asleep despite the sound of rain and the occasional lightning and thunder. Luna, however, was sitting at the base of the giant tree, holding her hind legs against her body while slightly shaking and jumping every time the thunder roared in the darkened sky above us.

after some time, the older sister got up and went to sit down near the blue filly, softly reassuring her sister with a speech not loud enough for me to hear. Luna seemed to calm down a little, not longer jumping in fright at every strange noise near our beds.

I finally decided to ask, "Luna, are you afraid on the storm?"

"yes," she answered, looking at me in what seemed to bit a bit of fear and shame. "It's really loud and scary. It sounds like a dragoun from one of your stories."

"It's dragon Luna. And yes it does sound like one but I can assure you, there is not gigantic beast ready to eat us near," even with my reassuring words, the tiny filly was still afraid. I then decided to do something I had not done in many, many years. "Lulu, would you like my to sing a song?"

"A song? What song? And why would you want to sing something just before going to sleep?" asked to now curious foal.

"A song sang just before tucking in a young child, commonly referred to as a lullaby, is suppose to help you sleep even if you are scared. I'm going to sing one that the shaman from an ancient tribe of warrior used to give courage and a good night of sleep before going into battle. Of course, we are not going to fight anything tomorrow but I happen to like this one and it'll help you be full of energy when waking up.

I then putted Celestia and Luna into bed before sitting down next to them. I then started singing. (skip the video to 1:40)

Thank you

I'll say goodbye soon

Though it's the end of the world

don't blame yourself, now.

And if it's true,

I will surround you

and give life to a world

That's our own.

I repeated it a second time and when I was down, Luna was already dreaming of another world while her sister was slowly closing her eyes. Both of them had a smile on their faces as I lied down in my bed before drifting of to slumber.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

It was now the middle of the day, we had walked on a long distance already so I choose to take a break for the girls' sake here under a mountain. There were birds flying around us in circles. Birds and other flying species always fascinated me since they seemed so free while I was stuck walking. In all my regenerations, I had never change into a creature that could fly so I was a bit jealous of them. I then remembered that I to had wings today. although, I could switch between my specials features too much because of how exhausted I became after six or seven transformation.

I decided to switch to my wings and try to fly again. I took positon on a small cliff, if you could even call it that, and started running toward were the fillies were eating small fruits. I jumped, spreading my wings and going up. That's it! I was doing it! I was finally flyi...

Crashing on the ground in an extremely painful manner. My mouth, ears and nose were filled with dirt and small rocks but I could still hear the girls laughing uncontrollably at me. A bit of an embarrassing display, but with enough practice, I'm sure I would fly better than those arrogant bird still up in the sky, taunting my inability to leaving to ground and join them in glorious freedom.

"Looks like you have a bit of a problem there Walker," said Celestia, still laughing.

"Well Tia, do YOU know how to fly? 'Cause if you do, I'll gladly take lessons." I was still a bit ashamed of my poor performance.

"I happen to be able to fly dear. Well, I'm not that good but I can glide down if I spread my wings after jumping from a high place and I can get off the grounds by flapping my wings," said the white filly, quite proud of herself. To prove her point, she jumped and flapped her wings, managing to go a few meters up into to air before falling back down.

"I can't fly yet, but Tia has been teaching me," said Luna. " maybe we could all learn to fly together."

"That seems like a wonderful idea Luna, Celestia could teach us and to fly since we all have wings."

"But I already have to teach you magic! Do I really have to help you two fly? I think teaching you both how to use your horns without being blown up by Walker is enough," added the small pink maned filly. Celestia then looked at both me and her little sister. Her eyes widened and she started to sweat as the two poorer flyer were making puppy eyes.

"Ah dammit! Alright I'll teach you how to fly!"

"Yes!"

"Huzaah!"

the sun was already going down when we stopped near the edge of a cliff. There was a lot of grass and some trees nearby so we would not have any problems with building the beds. Celestia had sprained her leg earlier and it was still healing. We were running away from something called a manticore in the human mythologie. I found it really strange to see so many connections between a civilisation dead and gone and one still building itself. I had been injured while distracting the beast, leaving me with a big claw mark on my side. It was a bit painful but I would heal pretty quickly. A long time ago, I noticed that the deadlier the injury was, the faster I would recover from it.

"Walker, how are you always happy about everything?" Asked the white filly.

"What made you think I was always happy? I can tell you there is a lot of times where I'm not," I assured her while collecting some leaves for a makeshift bed.

The older sister thought for a moment before answering. "Well you were hurt by the monster yet you are still smiling."

I took a moment to think about what I could tell her. "Well Tia, you have to enjoy the small things that life give you. If you only focus on the bad things, you'll end up depressed and living won't be something to enjoy anymore. Yes, I got hurt and it was painful, but I knew that both of you were same so it was worth it. Plus I saw a new specie of bird on the way that I have to observe later."

By their confused look, I decided to simplify my explanation. "All I'm saying is, find a way to have a good time while enjoying the small things and don't let anything stop you!"

Tonight, I'm gonna have myself a real good time.
