An Abyss Watcher, attacked by the Ashen One, appears in Equestria... Why?

Devrok, an undead from a far away land, joined the Abyss Watches in hopes of holding off his Hollowing. He didn't realise that there was a catch, he must light the First Flame with his brothers. But they didn't choose to and continued to uphold their duty, to eliminate the Abyss, but then a certain undead appeared at their doors.

Devrok fell with his brothers and awaited his death eagerly, but a voice tells him he isn't done yet. He awakens in Equestria, lost and slightly Hollow. Now he asks himself a question, one that he's going to cling onto until he turns Hollow.

"Why me?"

But in Equestria will anypony be an Ally? Because this Abyss Watcher isn't going to be a help, especially to Princess Celestia. But that will only be revealed, within...

This is a crossover with Dark Souls 3, I do not own it nor My Little Pony. They are owned by FROMSOFTWARE and Hasbro respectively.

Devrok's POV

I slam my dagger into my brother and then slash upwards with my greatsword, causing him to stumble back. I move forward and place my dagger on his shoulder and the thrust my greatsword through his chest, I hear him gasp and then fall silent. I pull my sword from my brother's chest and let him fall to the floor, but then I hear the sound of footsteps. I slightly turn my head and spot an Undead enter the mausoleum, but I sense this one is strong. I fully turn around and point my sword at them and place my dagger over my arm, the Undead mimics the etiquette of the legion and I frown under my steel helm.

"I need your soul, Abyss Watcher." The Undead says, his voice muffled from his helmet. "I need to relink the First Flame, it is a duty you have failed to complete." He finishes and he runs towards me, I growl and rush towards him with my sword at my side. I leap up and slam my sword onto the Undead, but he rolls out of the way and dashes forward with a broadsword, slicing my arm slightly. I shoulder charge him and the Undead stumbles back, I spin and slice the Undead in half. He gasps and slides to the bloody stone floor, but just before he fades to dust I hear him say something.

"I am Unkindled, I will never give up."

27 Deaths Later...

I slam my dagger into the Unkindled's neck and throw him to the floor, he holds his neck and coughs. Then he grabs his flask of Estus and sculls it. He stands up and roars as he charges with his sword held high, but then I plant my dagger in the ground and spin on it in a circle. The Unkindled is thrown back as my sword slams into him twice. I growl as he reaches for his flask, so I stomp over and kick the flask from his hand. I sheath my dagger and grab the Unkindled's throat, lifting him off the ground. He raises his left hand and places it on my arm, suddenly it bursts into fire. The Unkindled then blew a cloud of flame into my face, I growl and thrust my sword through his head.

I place my sword on my shoulder as the Unkindled turns to white mist, my gaze stuck on the Fog Wall that blocks the doors into the mausoleum. But my mind was drifting back... back when I just joined the Undead Legion.

"Drink! Drink the blood from the Old Wolf of Farron! Join the Undead Legion as our new brother!" The Head Acolyte yells as I look at the goblet in my hands, I hear the Legion of Farron fall silent as I raise the goblet to my lips. But a hand stops me, it was the Head Acolyte. "Are you certain you wish to join us? Once you drink, your old life is replace with this one. Choose carefully, my friend." He says and I look back into the goblet of blood, then I scull it down.

Suddenly I feel my inside burn and I growl, soon I drop the goblet as lines of fire run down my arms. I taste the blood, metallic and warm, it fills my tastebuds with fire. I stand and raise a fist in the air, a roar of applause echoes from the Legion. I turn and place my hands behind my back as the Head Acolyte places a hand on my shoulder.

"It is on this day we gain a new brother! Welcome to the Undead Legion of Farron, brother." He says and I nod, then I walk into the crowd of Abyss Watchers. But just as I do I see a girl, shyly hiding behind a pillar. I raise an eyebrow and she disappears as the Head Acolyte walks over, but I ignore it and talk with my new family. Yet her face will never leave my memories, perfectly shaped and innocent.

I hear the Fog Wall open as the Unkindled enters, I immediately notice his sword was replaced with a greatsword and he held a crooked dagger in his other hand. Rage grows within me as he mimics my run and raises his dagger up, but I lash out with my sword and cut his hand off. Then I plunge my sword deep into his shoulder, as he screams I let go of my sword and pick up the Unkindled. I repeatedly stab him with my dagger as I walk forward, then I drop him and pull my sword out of his disappearing body. Then I roar with rage as I slash my sword along the ground wildly, but then a soft clink of metal sounded in my ears.

I spin around with my sword swinging at the noise, someone yelps and I stop. I look around and listen carefully, I hear soft breathing and I look around for it's source. Soon I notice a shape on the ground in front of me, I look down at it with confusion.

It was a white horse, but it had wings and a horn. It was staring at me with wide eyes and I knelt down to have a closer look, but suddenly it disappears in a bright white flash which blinded me. I stumble to my feet with a growl as I hear the sound of metal on stone, so I rush at the noise and slam my sword into the floor. I hear a yelp and wildly swing my sword about, soon my vision clears a bit and I spot the horse hovering in the air. I roar and leap up into the air and grab it's hoof, then as I fall I throw it to the floor. I land on my feet but the horse lands with a yell, it looks at me with angry eyes and it's horn glows. I feel myself get lighter and I look at arm, it was glowing golden. Suddenly i'm thrown into the far wall...

...many, Many times.

I growl and slam my hand on one of the many bodies of my brothers, soon it rises with me and we rush at the surprised horse, but as we run I spot a tall shape at the Fog Wall. Suddenly a large golden bolt slams into my brother and sends him flying back, yet I don't stop as I rush towards the horse. But then a large boom shook the room and I skidded to a stop, I stared at the white horse as it quickly looked around. Suddenly the Fog Wall explodes inwards and the Unkindled rushes forward, a humongous warhammer in his hands. I stumble back as the Unkindled swings the hammer into my side, I fly and slam into a pile of my brothers. I look up as the Unkindled slams his hammer down on me, then he swings it around and sends me flying again. I stab my sword into the ground to stop myself, leaving a huge crack in the floor. I look up and leap over the warhammer, then I land behind the Unkindled and thrust my sword into his back.

But then a large explosion sends us both flying away from each other, I look up and spot the horse's glowing horn. I growl and notice the Undead look up in shock, but then he gets up and slams his hammer into the floor. A low rumble fills the air, suddenly the horse is thrown into the air as a large pillar of stone appears from under it. The Unkindled grins, but then it disappaers as my brother slams his sword into him and flings him to the floor. I get up off the floor and charge the Unkindled with my sword above my head, but then I stop. A strange feeling was fulling my chest, I look down and see a sword stabbed through my chest. I look at the Unkindled and reach for him, but he kicks me back and I stumble back. I collapse to a knee, trying to stay up, but then I fall to the bloody floor...

I look at the locket I had since I was a child, it was all I had of my old life. I place it back in my pocket and place my hand on my knee, I watch my brothers talk and spar. That new recruit, Hawkwood, was sparing quite well as I watch him parry his partner. I look to my left and spot a group of acolytes practicing their magic, those 'Farron Darts' they call them. Neat little bolts of magic, easy to learn I've been told.

"E-excuse me, h-hello?" A voice causes me to look to my right, it was that girl I saw at my Initiation! She had a slight blush on her face, I raise an eyebrow and she nervously rubs her foot on the other. I stand up and look down at the girl, she lets out a slight and quiet gasp.

hmm? I hum and the girl smiles slightly, it was almost cute. Almost.

"I-I noticed you sitting here a-and I was wondering if you c-could help me?" She quietly asks, I raise an eyebrow and noice the girl holding a staff.

hmmhmm I hum with a nod, her smile grows and her hands shake with excitement.

"Yay! Oh... sorry, can y-you follow me? I wanna test a new sorcery, if y-you don't m-mind?" She ask timidity and I nod, I was curious to what this girl had made. So we walked out of the keep, soon we stopped near a tall and old tree. I watched as the girl shook her staff, then to my surprise it changed into a little pickaxe, she noticed my stare and puts a finger to her mouth. "Shhh, i-it's something I've worked on!" She says and I let a little chuckle escape my lips. "Now, can you please stand there?" She says and points to the foot of the tree, so I moved to where she pointed. She pointed her pick at me and, much to my extreme surprise, a hail of blue bolts pelted me. They didn't hurt but that sorcery was incredible, so I clapped and the girl giggled.

"good work" I say and the girl smiles, then I hear foot steps. I look to my side and see the Head Acolyte walk over, a small frown on his face. I stood straight and the girl tried to hide her pick behind her back, the Head Acolyte raised an eyebrow.

"Why did I hear the sound of sorcery, Heysel?" He asks and she shrugged, he turns to me. "So what did I hear?" He asks and I look ahead.

"She made a new sorcery, it was quite impressive." I say and the man chuckles.

"No, no, no. She didn't make it, that was a spell that we where experimenting with. A hail of Farron Bolts, turns out that Heysel here just perfected the spell. I dear say she just made it better, but from the little scorches on your armour, it doesn't hit too hard?" He asks and I shake my head, the Head Acolyte then turns to his daughter. "So Heysel, looks like you'll need to learn to get that hail to hit harder." He says as he ruffles her head, she giggles. "So, Abyss Watcher, care to help my daughter train?" He asks me and I nod.

As we walk back to the keep, Heysel places something in my hand. I look down at the item, it was a small carving of a wolf. I look at her and pat her on the shoulder, she smiles and we continue to the keep.

I feel rage burning all through my body as I get up, I slam my flaming sword into the floor and let a low growl fill the air. I pull it out of the floor and swing it to my side, I look up at the Unkindled as the horse was no where in sight. I roar and sprint towards him, not noticing a golden glow covering my body. I skid along the floor as I plant my dagger into the floor and swing my sword at the Unkindled, but then I saw my vision fill with white. I feel my body go light and then I felt my vision darken, then I fell into sleeps embrace.

Canterlot, Equestria
No POV

Celestia huffs and wipes the large amount of sweat from her brow, then she walks over to a side table and gobbles down a large piece of cake. Then she pulled a quill and paper from her desk, she scans Equestria for the Abyss Watcher and finds him near...

"Ponyville, I'm too weak to get to him first. Twilight and the Elements of Harmony will need to find and contain that new arrival, I have faith that they can." She says to herself and looks at the paper, then she starts to write a warning to Twilight. "If the Elements of Harmony can't keep that 'Lord of Cinder' calm, then Equestria will crumble under their failure. I just hope that we can change that 'Lord of Cinder' to good." Celestia mumbles as she writes, but she stops as a dark blue tinge wraps around the door to her study. Quickly she hides the paper and teleports to her couch, she appears on it just as Luna enters.

"Tia, it's time to lower the sun." She says and Celestia nods, the alicorn's horn glows and the sun floats over the horizon. Luna then moves the moon into the sun's place. She looks at Celestia, who was quietly snoring. Luna giggles as she Teleports her sister to her bed, then she turns and grabs the paper that Celestia was writing, which was under a cup. She scans over it with worried eyes, then she looks up and out of Celestia's study. "Oh dear sister, what have you done now?" Luna mutters and she teleports to her own room.

Farron Keep, Lothric

The Unkindled looks around in confusion and anger, then he throws down his sword and hammer with a huff. "God damnit, WHERE THE HELL IS MAH SOULS!?" He roars in angry, soon he disappears with a pop...

Probably cause he smashed his controller into his Xbox One, cause rage gets every 12 year old!

Devrok's POV

I groan and push myself off the grass, my eyes snap open and I stumble to my feet. I look around in awe at the colour, turning to take it all in. I look down to where I was lying and saw my sword planted in the ground, tied around it's hilt was Heysel's carving. I quickly grab it and tie it around my neck, I pull my sword out of the ground. I flick it to the side and dirt flies off, then I rest it on my shoulder. I look around and notice a small cottage by some large woods, I jog towards it and move my sword to my side. I slow as I approach and notice how small it is, I lean down and gently tap the small door a couple of times. I hear movement from within the house, along with the sounds of a lot of animals.

Fluttershy's POV

I hear knocking on my door and look up from feeding my critters. Who could that be? I ask myself and move past my little friends, Angel followed beside me. I pat him on the head with a smile, then I opened the door. I poked my head out a bumped my nose on something hard, I rubbed my nose and looked at what I bumped into. It was a leg, a long leg with a bit of metal on it's knee. I looked up in confusion, a hulking monster with a huge sword stared down at me. I yelped then promptly fainted.

Devrok's POV

I blink as a little horse, this time a yellow one, made a little noise and fainted. I gently picked up the horse and walking into it's home, a hundred animals looked up at me. I ignored them and walked over to a small couch, then I slowly put the horse onto it. A little rabbit hopped onto the couch and looked at the horse, then at me with an angry expression. But I just turned and walked out of the cottage, but I did pull out a bit of Swordgrass and whispered a few words. I placed it on a small table near the door and left, my eyes locked onto a nearby village.

But as I moved towards the village, an out of place colour caught my eye. I turned and spotted the head of an even smaller horse, but it quickly ducked out of view into a bush. I slowly walked over and saw that the bush was shaking, then I threw my hand in and pulled out the tiny horse. It was yellow and for some reason it had a red bow on it's head, it struggled in my grasp and I placed it on the ground. It looked at me with wide eyes and I stared back, it shock it's head and bolted towards the village. I watch it go, soon following after it.

I watch as Heysel shoots her sorcery at a tree, it was more developed now and caused the tree to creak. Heysel was now a young woman, but that didn't make her less dangerous. I clap and she grins and does a little bow, but then suddenly I notice a noise screaming towards us. I spun around just as a ball of fire flew past my face, I heard as scream and my heart stopped. I turned around and saw Heysel holding her face, time seamed to slow as I saw little Heysel cry as she looked up. Her face was scorched and charred, my vision turned red as I turned around. I saw a man in rags standing by a tree, his hand was flaming. I roared as I charged him, my sword flaming above my head. The man fell back and I leapt up above him, my bellowing roar not stopping. I slammed my through the man's face, over and over again. Blood splattered everywhere as I kept smashing his face with my greatsword.

"Devrok!"

I hear a voice yell, yet it sounded so far away. I kept slamming my sword into the man, moving my sword down his chest.

"Devrok! Devrok, stop!"

I feel arms grab me as I lift my sword up, I let a wolf-like growl escape my throat as I fight off the arms.

"Heysel? Sweat, sweat Heysel." I hear the Head Acolyte say and I stop struggling, I stand up and slowly walk towards him and Heysel. One of my brothers try and push me back, but I pick him up and toss him aside. I collapse besides the Head Acolyte and look at Heysel, half her face was burnt and tears were streaming from her one good eye. I pull out a bandage from one of my pouches and then I pull out a small golden flask, I pour it on the bandage and wrapped it around Heysel's injured face.

"Devrok, it wasn't your fault." I hear my brother say, I just shake my head and shove him back.

I look up quickly and tighten my grip on my sword, my eyes wide and glowing. I snap my gaze to a blue horse picking flowers, I growl and walk towards it. It looks up at me just as I roar as I slam my sword down on top of it, it screams and throws itself out of the way. I drag my sword through the ground and then fling it out, causing the horse to yell as my sword cuts it's cheek. I spin around on my dagger and try to cut it's legs, but it used it's wings to throw itself upwards. I drop my sword just as my eyes lose their red glow, then I collapse holding my head. I hear the horse drop down, I just ignore it and pick my sword up. I quickly stand and walk past the horse, my head low. But I did catch it's eye, it looked concerned and terrified.

I sheathed my sword and dagger, then I noticed that yellow horse. It was walking out of it's cottage, it's eye scanning and stopping on me. I turn and walk away from the village, towards the forest. As I approach the cottage, the yellow winged horse hides behind the doorframe. I stop and look at the horse's face, it almost reminds me of Heysel. I sofen my stare and turn back to the forest, a single tear folls down my face. I walk a bit into the forest, but not enough to be out of sight of the cottage. I turned and planted my sword into the ground near the foot of a tree, then I sat down and leaned against the tree. I saw the yellow horse look at me, then it went back inside it's home. I looked down and tore a hunk of wood from a fallen tree, then I pulled my dagger out and started to cut off bits of it. I continued this till I had a smaller bit of wood.

I was so distracted in my work, that when I looked up I didn't expect to see the yellow horse. It was watching my hands and was still doing so, I kept cutting till I had the shape of a wolf's head and tail. Then I flipped my dagger around and started to carve in it's details, I looked at the horse who was leaning a bit closer. I stop carving and flipped it over with a close eye, then I placed it in front of me. Then I stuck my dagger into the fallen tree and crossed my arms, my attention fully on the horse. It still didn't notice my gaze as it picked up my work and turned it around, it had a smile on it's face.

"It's beautiful." The horse says and I jump slightly, I really didn't expect that... horse to... talk oh no...

"I attacked an innocent creature." I sigh and the horse jumps, flinging my work into the air. I snatch it out of the air and place it back on the ground, the horse looks very scared. I just sigh again and lower my helmet to cover my eyes, then I folded my arms again and soon drifted to sleep.

"I better get Twilight, I have no idea what this creature is." I hear just as my mind drifts.

"SISTER THOU BROUGHT A CREATURE FROM ANOTHER WORLD?!" Luna roars at Celestia, who just sighs as Luna fumes.

"Yes, Lulu, I did and for good reason." Celestia says and Luna huffs. "It would never find peace in it's own world, it'd never stop fighting. Now that it's here, we can show it friendship and give it peace!" She says and Luna's eyes widen,

"B-but you forcefully dragged a resident of another world here? One that has known war doesn't easily forget that, Tia." Luna states and Celestia huffs. "Sister, this creature does not know friendship! It's a warrior! One that attacked you, unprovoked!" Luna yells and Celestia timidity puts her hoof up.

"I did scare him... and overreact by slamming him into a wall, many times." Celestia says and Luna facehoofs.

"Well what are we going to do?" She asks and Celestia looks at Canterlot.

"I... I have confidence that Twilight and her friends can help this poor soul." Celestia says as Devrok snores softly, his dreams fulled with rage and fire.

Chapter Two: A Genius Meets a Warrior

Devrok's POV

I open an eye slightly to see that the yellow horse was gone, opening both eyes and standing up I look at the cottage. There wasn't any sign of the horse there, then I noticed a faint talking. I strained my ears and listened, it sounded like the yellow horse and a stranger. I looked at my feet and noticed my carving gone, so I sigh and tear another piece of wood of the fallen tree and grab my dagger. I lean on the tree as I start my work again, the voices started getting louder. I spotted Yellow walking towards her house with a purple horse with a horn, I didn't recognise that one and my eyes narrowed. They didn't realise I was watching them as they walked into Yellow's house. I looked at my work and carved the details in, the face and tail of a wolf stared at me. I smirked under my helmet and dropped it to the ground, then I started again by tearing a hunk of wood off the fallen tree.

I look up as the two horses walk from the cottage and towards me, I look to my side and count the pile of 12 carvings. I place my latest one on top and sit down, I place my dagger to my side and cross my arms as the two horses gape at the pile of carvings.

"Did you do this, mister creature?" Yellow asks and I nod, then I notice the purple one staring at me with almost hungry eyes. I narrow my eyes at it but the horse ignores it and trots closer, my hand move towards my dagger.

"I've never seen a creature like this before! What does it eat? What is it's habits?! Are those claws with no claws?! I MUST KNOW!" The purple horse shrieks and it's horn starts to glow, I roar and throw myself forward as my eyes turn a slight red. I slash down at Purple with my dagger, she jumps to the side and I turn to look at her. Then I stand up and walk back to my tree, I sit down and glare at Purple from under the rim of my helmet. The horse recoiled at my stare and whispered something to Yellow, who nodded and they both walked back to the cottage.

"That is a monster, Fluttershy!" Twilight says as they enter her friend's home. "It attacked me for no reason!"

Fluttershy spun around and glared at Twilight, who looked shocked at her friend's attitude.

"No, Twilight, he isn't a monster. He can speak and he didn't attack me, he looked at your horn when he attacked and you also yelled and scared him!" Fluttershy says and then looks down. "I-I didn't mean to yell, Twilight. But you need to respect his space, I'll talk to him." She says quietly and walks out of her cottage, leaving a thinking Twilight Sparkle.

"She calls the creature a he... hmm." She says aloud and watches her friend approach the strange bipedal creature.

I watch Yellow walk towards me, then I also noticing that Purple was watching from a window. My vision seams to blur, confusing me. I shake my head and look back at Yellow, but standing there was Heysel. I recoil as my vision clears and Yellow appears in Heysel's place, her expression is of concern.

"Mister, are you okay?" She asks and I nod.

"I'm fine, Heysel." I say and then realise what I've just said. "Apologies, you look simila-"

"Heysel sounds like a lovely name, but my name is Fluttershy." Yellow interrupts and I chuckle. "What is your name?" She asks.

"Devrok of... of..." I begin to say, yet I can't remember where I came from, I grab my head and try to remember. "Of Carim, I think. My memories are slowly fading, thank my Hollowing for that." I say coldly and Fluttershy tilts her head.

"Carim? These no place in Equestria called Carim, do you come from out of Equestria?" She asks and I slowly nod. "Also what is 'Hollowing'? Is it bad?" She asks, I hear slight fear in her voice.

hmm I hum and nod, but don't give a definitive answer. Fluttershy looks a little bit disappointed, but she continues on.

"What is Carim like? Is it a nice place?" She asks and I shake my head.

"Can't remember." I say and Fluttershy looks sad.

"Oh you poor thing, you can't remember your own home?" She says in a soft voice, I look up at her as something familiar fills her voice....

I stand outside the room that Heysel resides in, my eyes snapping to any who pass nearby. I spot the Head Acolyte walking towards me with a pair of other acolytes, I nod to him but move my hand to my sword as the other two neared. The Head Acolyte placed a hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes.

"Devrok these men are helping me, you can trust them." He says and I look at the two acolytes, they looked trustworthy.

"Fine, enter." I say and they enter Heysel's room, but one of the acolytes stopped in front of me. I looked at him and he looked back.

"I know how you are feeling, we will help Heysel as much as we can." He says and I notice the sound of pity in his voice, I growl and motion to the room with my head. The acolyte shakes his head and enters, my eyes narrow as an Abyss Watcher passes. He just keeps walking as I think to myself.

"I don't need your pity, Fluttershy. I never need pity, it's just a waste on a pathetic Undead like me." I say and she steps back.

"U-undead? You are an Undead?!" Fluttershy asks with concern filled eyes. "Oh m-my, I n-need to talk with Twilight." She says and trot quickly to Purple, I just shake my head.

I stand up and sheath my dagger, then I pull my sword up and rest it on my shoulder. Then I lean on the tree and watch the two horses talk, their voices fast and getting louder. Well, at least Twilight's is. Then they notice me watching, they trot over and Twilight looks slightly interested.

"So you say you are Undead?" Twilight asks. "Can you prove that?"

hmm I hum and then shake my head, but I do pull off my black glove. Then I show my hand to them, it was warm and rotting. Then I pointed to the Dark Sign, slightly glowing. "Only the Undead get the Dark Sign, after they lose sight of the thing they were working for. I knew a man who hollowed due to being helped too much, lost all self determination." I say sadly and pull my glove back on.

"Devrok, I'd like you to come with me to Ponyville. I want to test somethings on you, and send a letter to Princess Celestia. Our ruler along with Princess Luna." Twilight says and I think for a moment, then nod. She smiles and I follow her as she trots towards the nearby village, I turn my head and catch Fluttershy's eye. Then I raise and clench my fist as I turn back and continue walking.

"Sister, I entered the dreams of the creature." Luna says to Celestia, sitting on her throne with her sister. "I've discovered that it's name is 'Devrok' and it comes from a place called 'Carim'." She states and Celestia raises an eyebrow.

"Devrok and Carim? Strange names, what was this 'Devrok' doing in it's dreams?" Celestia asks, watching her two guards by the doors.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?" Celestia asks, confused.

"It stood in an impenetrable darkness, just standing with it's head low. I even approached it, waving my hoof in it's face." Luna sighs.

"This Devrok is a very strange creature, more than when it attacked me." Celestia slammed her hoof to her mouth, slowly turning to Luna.

"It. Did. WHAT?!" Luna yells and Celestia sighs.

"I have a bad feeling about this..." Celestia mutters.

Chapter Three: A Rage at the Welcome

View Online

Devrok lumbers alongside Twilight, his gaze on her horn. His hand was on his crooked dagger as they walked, Devrok wasn't going to be surprised by another magical horse. Twilight cleared her throat and Devrok sighed internally as he sensed an list of questions approaching.

"So where do you come from Devrok?" She asks, he internally sighs again.

"I've already told you, I do not like repeating myself." Devrok says gruffly to her, she frowns at his answer.

"Ok then, are you a warrior?" She asks and he simply nod. "Are you a powerful one?" She asks and Devrok hesitates.

"I am a Lord of Cinder, that is all I will reveal." He says and she huffs.

"Well I'll talk about who I am, due to somepony not being cooperative." Twilight says as she glares at Devrok, who tilts his head at somepony. "I am Twilig-"

"Twilight Sparkle." Devrok interrupts.

"Yes, I'm also student to Princess Celestia!" Twilight states proudly. "Oh, I'm also the Element of Magic!"

"Element of Magic? Hmm" He hums to himself, causing Twilight to look at him.

"Yeah! Along with my friends, the other Elements of Harmony, we protect Equestria from evil!" She says proudly.

A group of friends against an army? I'd like to see that." He sneers at Twilight, who looks slightly hurt.

"That was uncalled for!" She says, stopping.

"I do not believe tales that are sprung from the mouths of little children." He growls and continues walking, but then stops as a warm feeling surrounds his body. He spins around and slams his sword down at Twilight, who managed to throw up a shield. "No more... Trickery!" Devrok roars and smashes the shield, causing Twilight to collapse onto the dirt path. She looks up as Devrok towers over her, then she notices a small glint of red under his helmet. Suddenly Devrok turns around and walks a few feat away, dragging his sword along the ground.

Twilight stood back up and slowly trotted towards Devrok, who was holding something in his hand. She tried to look around him but Devrok quickly shoved the object into one of his pouches, Twilight huffed and walked up to him. But Devrok spun around and glared at her, something in his eyes were enough to make Twilight step back.

"I regret what just happened but that does not mean we stop, I will follow you to this Ponyville." Devrok says and rests his sword on his shoulder. "But do not use that trickery, it will only cause pain around it." He warned, then he gestured to the path.

"Fine, but try not to scare the ponies in Ponyville." Twilight says after a while, the tall warrior just grunts. As they walk Twilight thinks. Why did he attack her? What is he? Hwy did his eye glow red? She quietly hums to herself as she spots a pink shape on the road, just before Ponyville.

"Oh no." She says and Devrok stops and looks at her. "That's Pinkie, she knows everypony and if she doesn't then she will throw a huge party. She is also a bit eccentric, so please don't harm her." Twilight says and Devrok hums, suddenly Pinkie disappears. Devrok stops and rolls his shoulder, Twilight holds in her breath as Pinkie grins from the tip of the warrior's sword. Devrok reaches over and pulls Pinkie from his sword and then holds her in front of his face.

"Interesting little thing, aren't you?" Devrok says, Twilight hears a hint of wonder in his voice as she exhales. Pinkie just laughs and Devrok puts her down on the path.

"Hiya! My name's Pinkie Pie, but you can call me Pinkie, I know everypony here but you're new!" Pinkie gasps and somehow pulls Devrok's face to hers. "That means a party!" She yells and Devrok grunts as he leans back, then Pinkie disappears in a blur. Devrok looks at Twilight, who was gaping at what had just happened.

"Keep moving." He ordered gruffly, Twilight blinked and trotted ahead.

"I-I thought you would attack her, why didn't you?" Twilight asks as the walk into Ponyville, which was strangely deserted. Twilight realises why when she spots Pinkie watching them, she quickly snaps her eyes forward.

"I have my reasons." Devrok says simply and continues walking, Twilight leads him towards her home/library. She reaches the door and hears voices with in, she grabs the door with her magic and opens it. Devrok walks in and the lights snap on, the ponies jump out.

"WELCOME!" They yell and Pinkie shoots her party cannon, Twilight hears a snarl and spins around to Devrok.

He pulled out his sword and dagger, he dashed slashed down and destroyed Pinkie's cannon. The ponies fall silent as the Abyss Watcher pulls his sword from the cannon, then Twilight notices that Devrok was moving sluggishly. She trots up to him and looks at his eyes, they were red. Twilight yelled as Devrok spun around and slashed at her with his sword, fortunately she jumped back and the sword missed. The Abyss Watcher snarls and leaps at Twilight, pinning her to the floor. The unicorn throws Devrok off and out of the library, he grunts as he hits the dirt. Twilight locks the door and turns to look at the scared residents of Ponyville, then a sword slams through the door.

"Sweet Celestia! What is that thing?!" One of the residents yell as the sword is pulled back, then an arm reaches in and pulls the door off it's hinges. The Abyss Watcher throws the door to the side and slowly looks back at the ponies, then he yells as a pair of orange hooves slam into his side. Devrok snarled and shook himself as he got back to his feet, then he roared at Applejack. The mare frowned and stood her ground, the Abyss Watcher leapt up into the air with his sword over his head.

Devrok slammed his sword down onto a screaming man, trying to run. He looked up and around the flaming city, his brothers slaughtering those that were still standing. They had appeared over the horizon and mass panic ensued, only a few made it out before the Undead Legion of Farron torn down the gates. Devrok spun around and slashed a woman in half, in her hands was a bundle. He turned to leave but a cry caught his attention, Devrok looked at the bundle and saw the face of a baby staring at him, tears streaming down their face. Devrok felt a tear roll down his face as he slowly raised his sword above the baby, then with a yell he slammed his sword down.

The Abyss Watcher turned and stabbed a man in the back, then he threw him into a pile of burning debris. Then he spun around and elbowed a soldier in his ribs, the man cried out and Devrok slashed upwards. The soldier collapsed backwards as the Abyss Watcher turned and spotted Heysel shooting Farron Bolts with another acolyte at the poor people with in the castle, he felt more tears as he kicked a man down and raised his sword above his head.

Devrok suddenly screamed and dropped his sword as he landed, he started scratching at his helmet and his eyes went wild. Applejack slowly backed away from the screaming Abyss Watcher, Devrok snatched up his sword and spun it around. He held the sword at his chest and yelled, then he pushed the sword into his chest. The man let out a gut wrenching cry and fell to his knees, he tore off his pointed helmet and threw it away. Devrok fell silent, but he still pulls a locket from under his armour and looks at it.

Twilight watches in awe and fear as Devrok looked at his locket, then he put it back and placed a shaky hand on the hilt of his sword. The Abyss Watcher falls forwards, just as a whirlpool of dark blue energy appears under him. Soon it dissolves, but a smaller one appears under Devrok's helm and it disappears too.

Luna appeared in front of her sister in a flash of blue, Celestia looks saddened as Luna trots up the steps to her throne.

"I witnessed what Devrok did, I know you did too." Luna says as she sits on her throne.

"Yes."

"It was for his own good, a creature like him needs to stay in his own world." Luna states. "He posed a threat to our little ponies, now he can't." She finished.

Celestia just sighs and looks down, her thoughts wandering to the Abyss Watcher.

A man in rags sat in the room of countless bodies, his face obscured by a faded gold helm and more rags. He sat cross legged on the steps at the back of the stone room, a faint snoring came from this man. Suddenly a pool of blue appeared on the ceiling, dropping from it a man in a crimson cloak with a large sword stabbed through him. The Man in Rags shook awake as another pool appeared and a pointed helmet dropped onto his head, he grunted and looked around then spotted the man.

"Most interesting, it seems like I found the last Abyss Watcher." The Man in Rags said to himself and stood up to examine Devrok. "That's a problem, guess I got help you eh?" He asked quietly and pulled out a small knife, it's blade was wicked and curved. The Man in Rags walked closer to the fallen Abyss Watcher, slowly he squatted next to Devrok and hovered the knife over his chest.

"Now this will only hurt..." He said as he lowered the knife.

"...For a second, dear friend."

Chapter Four: The Man in Rags

View Online

The Man in Rags, a friend to some and an enemy to others. He wasn't always known by that name, some used to call him the Lost Wanderer. But now those memories of his name are gone, now only the Man in Rags remains. He wore a bronze chest plate, a helmet that seamed to always be on a tilt and a ragged skirt, covering most of his armour was strips of cloth and rags. He watched over Devrok as he breathed gently, the man pulled a small carving from a pack that lay next to his feet.

"You always had a fascination with carving." He said, looking back to Devrok. The undead shifted and groaned, the Man in Rags hummed as he pulled a flask of Estus from a pouch, he pulled down Devrok's face cloth and gently tilted the flask. The effect was immediate, the Abyss Watcher sat up with wild eyes. He glanced around, locked eyes with the Man in Rags and reached for his sword. Only it was sticking out of the floor, but Devrok still had his dagger. The Abyss Watcher slid the crooked knife into his hand and slashed at the Man in Rags, but the man just rolled back. Devrok got up and stood in a ragged stance, then he fell to his knees.

"You fool, Devrok. You're in horrible condition." The Man in Rags said as he walked closer, the Abyss Watcher swung his knife, but the Man in Rags just slapped it aside. Devrok grunted and dropped his dagger, the Man in Rags patted his shoulder. Suddenly a bright white flash behind the MiR made him turn around, standing a few feet away was Celestia.

"Well, hello. What brings you here?" The man asked as Celestia locked onto Devrok, the MiR noticed this. "Ah, you want him?"

"Yes." Celestia said simply.

The Man in Rags stood up and unsheathed a small axe; a frown on his face.

"You took him, didn't you?" The man asked and Celestia nodded. "You really don't know anything do you?"

Devrok stood and watched Hesyel walk towards the exit behind him, the poor girl had bandages wrapped all around her head.

"Please, dear Watcher, move." Heysel said, but Devrok shook his head.

"I can't do that, Heysel." Devrok said, his hand slightly shaking as he lay it upon his dagger.

"Devrok, please. There's nothing here for me-" Devrok suddenly growled.

"I guess that means me too, fine." Devrok moved to the side and Heysel blinked, the Abyss Watcher pointed to the exit. "Go, study with those scholars. You will learn much, away from these distractions." Devrok stated and lowered his arm, Heysel silently passed Devrok and followed the path out of the forest.

The MiR took a step closer to Celestia, his axe ready for a quick slice.

"You took Devrok from his home, and the one he loved so dearly!" The man shouted, Celestia blinked. Neither noticed Devrok shift.

Devrok hunched over the goblet of blood, specks of flame danced across its surface. The man looked to the side at the door, seeing it was closed he quickly tore off his mask and drunk the entire goblet. The Watcher then dropped the goblet and curled up, stumbling back away from the altar and collapsing. Suddenly the door burst open and an Abyss Watcher ran in, he immediately unsheathed his sword and walked towards Devrok.

"B-brother? What did you do?" The Watcher asked and Devrok got up, then he quickly turned and caught his eye.

"Became a lord, brother."

"He sacrificed everything! He became a lord, destined to burn! All for his little Heysel!" The Man in Rags bellowed as flames started to ignite along Devrok's body as he rose, Celestia took another step back. "And you know what he did? What he did to fill him of the only regret in his endless life?"

Heysel hesitantly entered the arch that she once left through, her eyes hidden by the massive cap were darting around. It was eerily silent, no clash of swords, no sounds of spells and no talking. Heysel then turned a corner to find a strange sight. Sitting in the middle of the large courtyard was a trio of Abyss Watchers, one was arguing with the other two.

"Why did you come back here, Hawkwood?" One asked the Watcher without a helmet.

"You are not welcome here, you disgrace us with that!" The second Abyss Watcher sneered as he pointed at Hawkwood's shield that hung on his back.

"I came back to say I'm leaving." Hawkwood stated, the two Abyss Watchers look at him.

"W-what?" The first asked.

"B-but Hawkwood, you took the blood-" The second was suddenly shoved back by Hawkwood.

"That new blood is disgusting! You fools, you've become lords! You'll never go back to your homes! You all give me conceptions!" Hawkwood bellowed and quickly rushed towards the exit, and Heysel. All three men stared at the yellow garbed woman, unsure of who she is.

"H-hello." Heysel said, the Abyss Watchers recoiled.

"Heysel? You've returned?" Hawkwood asked, then he shook his head. "Well I guess this is hello and goodbye, Devrok is inside. Go to him." Hawkwood said as he walked past, but before he left earshot he stated. "But you'll regret it."

The two Abyss Watchers let Heysel pass and followed her into the keep, Heysel noticed the stares the Abyss Watchers gave her. Soon they came to the Initiation Room, where a lone Abyss Watcher was standing. He turned and walked quickly towards Heysel, how rushed to meet him.

"D-Devrok? It's been so-" Suddenly Heysel found herself on the floor, she looked up at Devrok who grabbed the hilt of his sword.

"You... are not welcome here, scholar. Leave" Devrok said coldly and Heysel yelped when the pair of Abyss Watchers grabbed her and dragged her back through the keep. They ignored her cries and screams as they threw her back out into the courtyard, Heysel got to her feet and looked for a second back at the keep before sprinting away.

"He- will tell you himself." The Man in Rags stated as he walked to the side, Celestia looked at the body to see a flaming Abyss Watcher. Sprinting at her, eyes red with rage and sword about to slice her to bits.
