> The first Bastion > by -Snackrifice- > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Openning the path to equus > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside one of Volskaya's factories, a strange group was standing over a glowing blue machine that looked like a disk. The machine was one of Symmetra's teleporter. However, this teleporter was slightly different as Symmetra and Torbjörn modified it to transport more than six heroes before becoming unusable. If everything was going according to plan, this new and improved teleporter could transport over twenty heroes into action as soon as they came back from the dead. "So... Who's gonna test this now that it's completed?" Asked Torbjörn while looking at Soldier, Reinhardt, Bastion and Symmetra for an answer. "Reinhardt and me are way too old to test you youngsters' creation. If there is even a small problem, it might kill us. And honestly, I thought that Bastion was here to test your new toy. I mean, we're in Russia and Russians hate omnics so there is no other reason for Bastion to be here except test this," said Soldier while pointing at the shinny blue disk and the nature loving war machine. "Beep beep bob bap bap beeb," answered Bastion. And by the reaction of everyone in the room, the bot's message failed to be understood. It seemed that only the robot's best friend, the bird called Ganymede, understood clearly what Bastion was talking about. Sadly, no one in the room was a small yellow equine who loved taking care of animals and could understand them. "Well we brought him with us to protect us against Talon agents while we worked on the super teleporter," replied the best Indian tech support lady. "But I guess we could use him as a tester since if something goes wrong, we can always repair him." "Well then, why are we still standing here without moving? Let's get to work!" Shouted the giant German hero. "Could you activate the machine for Bastion m'lady? The soldier and me will defend you against any threat that might come our way. If any comes our way that is." The Indian woman walked to the other end of the room as she readied her ultimate's exit. "I have opened the path. Bastion, my friend, feel free to go through when you are ready," Symmetra said calmly as she activated both ends of her upgraded ultimate. The group of four heroes watched silently as Bastion walked towards the teleporter, as ready as he would ever be. With his friend Ganymede perched on the bot's shoulder, the iconic duo finally arrived in front of the glowing blue disk on the ground. Determined to go through with this, the Omnic stepped on the machine. But a that exact moment, everything went wrong for the group. The factory's alarm activated itself and the heroes heard people shouting nearby. The small Sweden builder noticed that their project was taking a long time to start. As a matter of fact, the teleportation device actually had to charge up before transporting Bastion across the room. "Watch out and get behind me!" Shouted Reinhardt as he activated his shield and took out his giant rocket hammer. "That Talon agent sniper is here! She won't be able to shoot you if you stay behind my shield." However, the old German did not realise that while he was protecting the group, he was standing too far away from Bastion. Leaving him and the still charging teleporter directly in the spider sniper lady's sight. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the cold blooded sniper did not decide to end the Omnics' life, but rather to shoot directly at the almost fully charged machine under the war robot. The well aimed bullet caused the Indian invention to blow up. "Bastion! Get under the shield or she's going to kill you!" Cried Symmetra in total panic. Sadly, the sound made by the sniper bullet caused the bot's blue eye to turn red. The two builders panicked even more, now that they understood that the robot was back into a murdering machine. However, luck was smiling upon the small group, as the overcharged and completely destroyed teleporting device's energy had to go somewhere. And what better place to go than the triggered war bot standing just above the uncontained energy? In a blue, green and white flash, Bastion became a magician and escaped without moving. Or at least, he did not move through space, but he moved through dimensions. After the inexplicable flash of multicolor light, the four remaining heroes braved the storm of snow and ice to get to safety. (-)(-)(-)(-)(-) (Equestria, an unknown forest) If anyone had been standing in the forest, there would realise that it was unnaturally silent. No birds were singing and no animals were shouting. It might be normal considering the loud explosion like noise that echoed through the forest just a moment ago. At the end of a trail going through multiple destroyed trees was a unmoving glowing red light. After a couple of hours, the source of the light started to move. The strange figure, who was slowly standing up, was making a lot of unnatural noises for every animal of the forest. As the being slowly walked away, one of the inhabitants of the Everfree had enough courage to go closer to the outsider. Said creature was a manticore. Bastion only noticed the mythical investigator of the magical forest. As the manticore growled aggressively, the displaced bot turned around to face the angry animal. After fifteen seconds doing nothing but staring at each other, Bastion, still triggered from Widowmaker, changed his configuration to turret mode. As the manticore roared angrily, charging toward the now completely modified robot, Bastion took aim. When he started to shoot, time went in slow motion. The agressive manticore felt the bullets connect to his soft flesh and immediately understood that he was doomed. After killing the creature, the war machine switched back into recon mode and walked away from the glade, uncaring about the dead body of a creature that could not even eat metal. Unknown to Bastion, this was only the beginning. > First meeting (unedited) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bastion had been walking in the seemingly endless forest for days, maybe weeks, he wasn't sure. He rarely saw anything anymore. Since that pack of wooden creature that looked like wolves crossed his path. The bot just tore their bodies apart with bullets before leaving then for dead. After an hour or two, he finally found the exit of the damned forest. Maybe now he could find civilisation and go back with his friends. The two builders were the only one who took him seriously. The others either hated him because he was a Omnic, the past of his brothers at arms or that his job on the battlefield was 'too easy'. He had more to do than just stand still and ill everything! He had to find a good spot, communicate with his team and he needed a good aim and be able to track moving enemies like Tracer. Far away, Bastion could see a village. It looked small and lacking of any sort of technological advancement. Which was weird because the bot has visited the whole world with the battles. Even the poorest villages in the poorest countries were more advanced than this place. As he got closer to the village, Bastion noticed the lack of human being. Everywhere he looked, he only saw small colorful equine, some of them even had horns and armor! Finally, one of the hornless small horse small him. She instantly screamed in terror, which in turn, got every other equine to stare at Bastion. One of them even threw a rock at him, missing him by three meters still, but it's the intention that counts. The soldier looking ones came near him, weapons drawn. "Well would you look at that, another creature from the forest! I don't recognise this one but hey, we can use it as a warning for anything thing else that things ponies are weak preys. Well, earth ponies are, but unicorns are strong!" Said one of them. The obviously racist unicorn then drew out his bow and shot a single arrow towards the robot. The projectile landed right on Bastion's chest, bouncing off without even making a scratch. He understood that, there weren't just innocent quadruped creature, they were agressive. Even if they were really weak. And Bastion knew how to communicate with hostile creature. In front of the now confused guards who were clearly expecting the bot to run away after he got it with an arrow, Bastion changed his configuration to turret mode. When his transformation ended, he immediately took aim at the nearest pony with a horn on their head. He fired. Bullets, blood, bones and flesh flew threw the air, the metal helmet not even protecting the victim for a second. The villagers screamed as the soldier's corpse fell on the ground. However the now angry war machine wasn't done. The other soldiers also fell, unable to do anything but hope for a quick end as Bastion tore their bodies apart. The robot then turned back into recon mode and kept on killing. Stallions, mares, soldiers and villagers and farmers. Very few families managed to escape the wrath of the mechanical murderer. They ran away to the nearest town, hoping the alert the guards before the robot could catch up with them. Their warnings were ignored by the unicorn and pegasus guards lf the next town. The guards simply disregarded the panicked cries as 'earth ponies being stupid and panicking over nothing'. Their ignorance cost them their lives as Bastion eventually caught up to them. The fate of those villagers and soldiers was the same as the inhabitants of the last village. Most of them died and some escape, alerting the next town who finally took their warning seriously, slowing down the robot's path of complete destruction. Things could have happen without all the death and destruction. It only took nine or ten fearful ponies to attack Bastion who then placed 'weird quadruped being' as hostile. His programmation told him to exterminate every hostile being and his encounter with Widowmaker angered him too much to fight his programming (-)(-)(-)(-)(-) The two alicorns were sitting at a table, eating diner and talking about unimportant things. Suddenly, a pegasus opened the doors and shouted "Your majesties! An important message coming from the unicorn guard camp who's charged with protecting the earth ponies' farming lands! It seems a strange creature appeared and started to kill ponies." "Do you have any useful information about the creature?" Asked Luna who normally leads the Equestrian armies. Combat situation were things she was used to so she reacted fast than her sister, who is better at dealing with nobles and politics. "Yes princess Luna, it seems to resist arrows and small projectile thrown at him. Swords and spears are more effective but it also has a way to heal itself, every damage dealt by soldiers is instantly repair and it keeps on killing without any problem. It can also attack at long distance with some kind of fire magic." "Fire magic, please explain," asked the confused sun goddess. "He points one of it's limb at us and we see fire coming out, but the fire stays near him, something invisible is killing the guards. He can also change itself. One moment is as tall as princess Celestia and can move around, the next moment it's standing still, smaller than princess Luna and using a lot of invisible fire thingy that kills everypony in his sight!" "He seems quite dangerous, we must act quickly. Do you know where he is now messenger?" asked the moon goddess. "The soldier camp is holding it still your majesties, giving the civilians enough time to escape," answered the pegasus, tired from his long flight. "However, I do not know how long they will be able to keep the creature in place." Luna took a bit of time to think about the situation. "We will send more soldiers, we need to lead it into a place easy to defend. I'll send our fastest pegasi as bait to lead the creature there and our strongest unicorn to keep it there," she said with a determined look. "We cannot let it hurt our subjects any more." "That seems like a good plan sister," praised Celestia. "I'll take care of the paper work while you go and brief the soldiers. Just one last question Luna." "Yes sister dearest?" "Where exactly do you plan to send the creature?" Asked Celestia. "Oh don't worry about that," answered Luna with a giant smile on her face. "I know just the place!"
